Featured in WYGYFF Episode 23: Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player Harrison Kennedy. He is an original member of the 1970s soul group Chairmen of the Board (COTB), which from 1970-1973 amassed nine Top 40 R&B hits. Those included “Give Me Just a Little More Time,” “(You’ve Got Me) Dangling on a String,” “Everything’s Tuesday,” “Pay the Piper,” “Chairman of the Board” and “Finders Keepers.” He covers their career, including having Funkadelic as COTB's backing band.

Returning to recording in 2003 after a protracted break, he transformed into a prominent blues artist. His nine blues albums include 2016’s Juno Award-winning Blues Album of the Year, titled “This Is From Here,” and 2022’s “Thanks for Tomorrow.”

Paraphrasing George Clinton, funk is whatever it needs to be to get you over the hump. Thus, guests can explain where they got their grit, perseverance, inspiration, talent, creativity, character or other qualities that shaped them into who they are today. This serves as a springboard into candid, in-depth and engrossing conversations.
