The Bible tells us in Jude to "earnestly contend for the faith" so what does that really mean? It means to be prepared as a child of God to defend the word of God and the doctrines contain in it. The Greek word here gives signifies "to contend about a thing, as a combatant" (epi, "upon or about," intensive, agon, "a contest")
Jude 1:3 (KJV) 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Unfortunately most Christians cannot explain what they believe or why they believe it. With that in mind I will be teaching some basic Bible Apologetics in a series called Contending for the faith. May this help you to go deep in a study of God's word and hopefully you will grow in your Christian walk. So that you can fight the good fight as the Apostle Paul tells us to do.
