…
(00:07):
Hello.
Welcome to unqualified recommendations I am one of your hosts Kirk price.
Uh I'm another one of your hosts Chad price I'm another one.
I am Zachary. And Zach is the least favorite That's why he goes last.
Okay. Uh…so the way this works is that
each of us is going to have a song or album that we'd like to recommend to you.
(00:28):
Uh we're going to talk a little bit about the album ourselves our song ourself.
And then we're going to wait and let everyone listen to it.
Uh this is also said that way The other two who are not recommending the song.
Are able to uh listen to it as well and kind of.
Remember what it sounds like, or listen to it for a first time If you never heard it before.
After that we are going to recommend a video game for you that we like.
(00:52):
Or want to like, or want you to like, Until like
, Hey sometimes you hate a video game but you got to recommend it because you hate it so much.
Okay. Are you like trying to like throw nights?
Oh my God…Okay If I ever hear golf and
night's mentioned on this like like genuinely Zack I'm like go to Florida.
(01:16):
Slap you come back home and then continue the podcast like this This is not okay man.
We're gonna include the entire plane trip in the recording In the pocket…The solid two hours.
Our podcast. It'd be a solid two hours of just…Yeah And like babies
crying in the background…Have you ever had a baby crying on a plane?
(01:39):
Yes Yes Okay. Let's let's focus here guys Let's focus focus back in real quick Uh I'm going to
go ahead and go first for the song and album for this week.
Um, we'll give a little bit of a spiel. Um, so my song.
Is a rattlesnake by St Vincent. Interesting.
Um it came out 2014 It's the first song.
(02:01):
of her self-titled album. In case you don't know
Um, and Aaron Clark is St Vincent.
Um she's like the main singer and guitarist and everything. And she is.
Well known for being, uh she's widely considered to be one of the greatest female guitarists.
Like she's often falling into the top 10 with people lists greatest female
(02:22):
guitarist of all time And Taylor swift isn't better than her.
No. Uh I don't know…I'm not saying that Taylor's.
Swift. It's not know how to play a guitar but when it comes to the things that.
St Vincent or Clark does. It's like.
It's crazy Like she does some amazing the sounds that she gets out of her guitar.
(02:44):
Are ridiculous. There's this one article that was going around like I would say probably five years ago.
Where everyone was calling Taylor swift the uh the modern day.
Uh, van Halen. I know I know that y'all can't see my expression right now but it is just
disgust and disbelief…Okay.
(03:04):
so, the song a little bit about the song.
The song a Clark herself calls a new mythology.
Uh rattlesnake is a new creation story styled around the isolation of a person.
Stripped away of their 21st century dependencies and facing the fatal danger of nature for the first time.
It's basically a bunch of hippie shit. Um…but it's really it's really cool.
(03:27):
the song is based on a real life incident that occurred to Clark somewhere in the dry wilderness of Texas.
While she was a guest of her friend's ranch. According to Clark She decided to experience the
natural surroundings of the desert one night where nothing but her boots.
Wow. Frolicking through the darkened to desert. She heard a
noise akin to a rattlesnake frightened Clark ran at home.
(03:47):
Thus inspired the Trex wild and piercing tome. Presumably the narrative also operates as a
microcosm of the loneliness and fear relatable to the other varied aspects of life…Um St
Vincent has said that the guitar on this track was inspired by the sound of Turkish instrument The SAS.
And that she sliced her finger in studio while working on the single string guitar solo at the
(04:11):
end of this track…Why would you keep trying
after After you sliced your finger, I would give up and go home man.
Yeah. It's the end of my day honestly. All right Well we're going to go ahead and take a quick
little break here and we're going to listen to rattlesnake by St Vincent…All
right So what are y'all's thoughts I don't know how I feel about the beat like Kirk was talking
(04:33):
about in the beginning like the how she couldn't play the instrument.
Pretty solid But I don't, I don't know how I feel about the lyrics
…Yeah I would say that this is one of the ones that I.
Don't listen to the lyrics to very very much.
I mean. Awful. There's a lot of…But this is my problem It's like, I don't.
(04:55):
Um when people like. W it's it's a pet peeve of mine
when like it's just like a whoa Oh And it's not like actual lyrics.
Like it happens pretty often like pop and things like that which doesn't bother me But like when
it's like the main lyric of your entire song eventually it kind of bothers me.
You know, I was going to say close like scrolling through the lyrics kinda.
Reading them as I was listening to it And there's definitely a lot of ocean hair
(05:18):
…I'm kind of like a hundred.
I swear the chorus was literally just wa oh, Like that's the only thing but like, I mean, the
the main thing about that is the things that she does with her guitar Yeah Like.
There is. I think like 12 different sounds distinct sounds as she gets out of the guitar throughout this one song.
(05:39):
I mean like it, she definitely I can tell just from listening to that
she definitely has a lot of talent with the guitar especially the guitar solo at the end.
I think that she did really really good with that because you can hear it.
When you're listening to it it sounds like there's at least three different like like harmonies
playing at the same time, which is very interesting Like it's hard to get three different
harmonies at the same time and still sound good with a guitar at least.
(06:00):
Is definitely hard with vocals too but like it's easier when you have a choir compared to just
one guitar She's going back in there recording over and over and over again Just layering it you know?
Yeah. Um um, I'm a big fan. Of like, Well done distortion.
There's a lot of distortion Yeah That sounds awful. But I'm big fan of really well done.
(06:20):
The storage And I think that this song does really good to source. If I'm
honest I think the distortion was the main thing that I didn't like about this one.
Really Yeah I felt like it took away from the song specifically her vocals Like I feel like
adding a little bit of distortion to her vocals It makes sense for the song.
But it felt like instead of what they what they should have gone with like it's like 5% a distortion.
(06:41):
A mix. But instead it sounds like they went with like 20% and it feels a little bit too much.
Like it feels like they're trying to get like a lower tone out of her voice than they need
because the distortion distortion always pushes the lower end without you even like thinking
about it It does it you know, And I think that that was an issue with me with this song.
I feel like her vocals could have been clean. and it would have been a better experience overall for me.
(07:03):
Yeah. But that's just my thoughts about the, about the vocals really.
Well this was um the first song on her Um,
Ah album title St Vincent and the rest of the album is actually really really great too.
But I want to specifically point out rattlesnake cause it's the first song in the album.
And it really like kind of showcases what she's able to do with just the Qatar.
(07:27):
Um also I think I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure she was using.
So what you can do is on the pickups with a with a guitar you can push down on the string onto the pickup.
Right. It's like me and just. Popping the mic, right It's the same thing, right?
And I think it was really interesting I think that's what she was using for uh for the kick of
her drums in that song It sounded like it, I could be wrong I'm pretty solid actually.
(07:50):
But that's what she was doing. Yeah. It sounded like a genuine drum kit Like that was really, I don't know Anyways.
What do you think Zach out of 10 what do you rate it? Going to have to go with like a six but most.
because of the lyrics because I did like how it all sounded but…I don't know.
It gave me like 2005 vibes Does that make sense Like.
2005 like I guess. It can give you some grunge vibe.
(08:14):
A little bit but it's more like grunge pop Yeah I would agree It's definitely a lot more pop than it is grunge.
I agree but it's pretty good. Um, honestly I would go eight creativity wise.
And uh to listen wise. I'm sorry
…
I'm sorry I'm sorry This song is an eight for me.
(08:36):
He also might be a little bit biased because I listened to the song a lot in high school.
When did you just come out by the way 20 14, 20 14. I guess it wasn't high school a lot in
college Oh okay Whenever we were doing going on a road trips this is always one of the songs I was included Yeah.
Um I feel like I'm listening to this in a car would be more more fun than listening to it on.
You know, studio headphones. I don't know.
(08:58):
I don't know. Yeah. A lot of her music has focused on like, Being danceable.
Danceable. Yes Interesting Oh gum. Yeah.
I can see DMO kids dancing to this…Yeah you definitely see a bunch of people going like under
a bridge like homeless people…Jamming out.
All right So Zach what's the what's the song that you got this time man. I got to miss I don't
(09:19):
know how to pronounce his name but it's fine by Kyle Hume.
I think the show you pronounce it. Like I said before we started
this I don't have a whole lot to say it just kind of itches the part of my brain.
Okay. All right Well I guess…Uh do you have more to say sorry go ahead.
Oh no I was just going to be like I guess I could I could the only thing I could say would be
like flex on you guys by saying this was definitely one of those songs you listen to at the beach with your friends.
(09:43):
I live like two minutes away from the beach. Yeah I can relate.
Yeah Must be nice All right So we're going to take a quick break right here and listen to the
song We'll come back and just a moment…All right.
Yeah, I think it's pretty good. I mean…In the middle kind of caught me off guard
…The rest of it.
(10:04):
I liked it a lot. Yeah. I was actually going to talk about that Like I think it's really
interesting what they did there I think it's a layer of guitar Kazu and someone singing all on
top of each other I don't know if it's actually because they were, I think it is.
I'm actually…it's definitely there's no way.
So that's what makes it a beat…I see.
(10:29):
I feel like I could uh go out and like contemplate life to that one I see what you're going for is that.
I discovered this song last night which is why I didn't have like a whole lot to say about it.
Because you said you could go out and like contemplate life with this song is pretty much what we were doing Cause we were.
Like an hour and a half away from our house when we were driving back.
And my friend just put this on and we just listened to it like four times over…I mean it was
(10:53):
just one of those times we just sat and vibed to for like a good 10 minutes I showed it to you as a Preston?
No it was another friend. I. Uh, as a matter of what for it.
Yes I was very low respect for Preston…I would decide if this was a 10 or zero.
Honestly Yeah. But no it was um, I liked it I thought it was pretty creative with the kazoo parts.
(11:15):
It's definitely busy Because there's no way to not. I'm absolutely convinced that that was a kazoo.
Do-do do-do Yeah. I don't know maybe just someone picked up a ball cut off the bottom half of it and blew into it.
Yeah. I actually thought um the his vocals are really really good.
Yeah So this is. It was a common trend.
And like the late two thousands 2000 tens where people would come up and kind of have like this.
(11:39):
But the best way to describe it is a lazy voice, a lazy voice.
Yeah Where you kind of like just kind of like. You know tall
…Uh, I also I don't know uh, I liked how
he changed up the way he's saying Yeah I'm fine Every single, uh chorus.
He's like the first one was like yeah I'm fine And then later on I was like, I'm fine Like that.
(12:04):
I thought it was really creative. Yeah…It was an interesting song Um, I um,
it's kind of did bring up up a lot of memories for me whenever I was in like um, high school
and college taking the road trips go like um,
Sitting at the side of the lake listening to music with friends and stuff.
At the beach right…Um, And so like uh there's a lot to
(12:31):
be said like…people say like how do you know that you're happy is when you're not sad.
Hmm. Right And so sometimes what…people do is they listen to songs.
Like this. And it kind of helps them say, hold up
a mirror to himself as I, okay Well, I don't feel that way.
So I guess I'm happy. Or I do feel that way.
(12:51):
I'm not happy. You know so it's just it's. That's
why a lot of songs like that are really popular and people really feel them.
Yeah. Well I feel like as like, Like I don't want to get like uh as a society.
I don't want to, I don't want to get into that but like I I do feel like um like genuinely we
have this idea that we all need to be like upbeat all the time You know Like I definitely feel
(13:13):
like I need to be, you know Or at least try my best to be.
And uh sometimes it, honestly I think it does kind of talk to that thing that you were talking
about where it's like on the inside You're not really feeling the best you are right now You
haven't had the proper amount of sleep but you're still gonna just gonna act the same way that you normally do you know?
But yeah. Anyways pretty great song What are you ready at Kirk?
Um…Do a
(13:36):
…Six out of 10 I think six.
Yeah. Six is pretty high for me by the way. Hmm.
I don't really write things. Did you read the last one again Eight eight
…
afterwards…Uh but I I would say it's a six.
Mostly because um, There's nothing.
(14:01):
Groundbreaking in it, I guess. Kazoo…Because it was what brought it up from a five
…I'm not going to lie That actually was my favorite part of the song.
For real wise I thought it was pretty Ruby for a second I was
…I don't know how you made your voice all the good trauma but
(14:22):
that was impressive…Um so yeah I would say a six.
I'd give it an eight because I can genuinely see myself listening to that consistently…What do
you give it to that…It months like an eight to it's…Definitely We listened to
it for like the next month…I don't know why but it's just so funny when you're trying to
(14:43):
figure out what you're going to say next And it was just complete silence…Okay.
Well one of the main reasons why I want to do this…kind of a show with you guys is because we
have different tastes the music Yeah We all have very very strong differences in our taste I feel like I'm like.
Uh, like weird with my music you know And I feel like you're you're weird
(15:05):
…I…got a whole weird playlist There's this woman this
woman called…Oh from Japan.
Not that SIA. Oh okay…This.
I always forget some may this. I made an entire song off of telephone ringtones.
(15:28):
So…I can show you some weird…I mean
…I mean didn't
Charlie Puth make like a song about him flicking a light switch out of a light switch Yeah.
So my song is boys a liar part two.
Bye. Uh, why don't I can't remember the name of the other artists but I spice.
(15:51):
Okay Okay…Um okay so this one I feel like.
Um…I feel like this song Okay.
Before this song I actually had very little respect for ice spice because she had never like blown me away with anything that she had done before.
But I don't know what it is She just elevates the vibe of this song from like, like a six to a 10, I think.
(16:13):
So um, anyways, So yeah boy's a liar part two.
You ready? I'm ready. All right Let's listen to it…What do you guys think?
Well um I kind of like the retro. Sound
of it And the retro video game kind of sound to it Yeah.
Well what I think. What if that was a little bit funny it was how we. Now we're just talking
about a rattlesnake and we were like most of the layers were oh, and then I pulled this one up
(16:36):
and it's the same…Uh but yeah.
What do you think? Oh well there's a good amount of them in here…Yeah
…Yeah.
Been hearing this song recently on ticktock a lot Yeah…Towards the middle part where she comes in.
(16:56):
Oh yeah Yeah. Um, I mean I can relate to the lyrics a little bit.
been in some crappy relationships Yeah. Well I feel like I dunno like.
Okay Be honest with me. Do you think that I spices part was the best part a little song.
She was a rapping. Right Yeah. Hmm
…Um I don't think it was the worst part.
(17:21):
I think that the song. Fits together as a whole pretty well…I don't think there was any one
part that stuck out to me He's like oh wow I really liked this part Yeah.
Well what I what I really like about ice spice? Is like she
she does this thing I've first where I feel like she kind of subvert expectations.
Two times in one verse. So like, um, at the start of it she's like he said that I'm good enough Right.
(17:44):
But then by the end of it, Uh she's talking about how he's like sneaky in the like lying to her.
Right. And uh I feel like the way that she like transitions emotions halfway through the verse
is just like, Smooth but good at the same time, you know what I mean What do you think Zach
out of 10…like a…six and a half
seven…Yeah…Yeah.
(18:06):
Six and a half Starbucks…Why only six and a half.
I think it's just because her part is the only good part to me in this song I really.
The other part is like a four to me but when her part comes out it's like a 6, 6, 6 and a half.
So I spices the best part or the other one. Yeah.
I think her name is, I don't know. So cancers.
(18:26):
No. Black Panther is. Oh
…goodness…Wow.
Um…Yeah I mean…It just seems kind of
…Uh land.
I guess. You said…So.
(18:50):
I think that part of it was that you told me to take talk song That's just instantly brings the song down a value to me…Okay.
For the record I didn't find it because of Tik TOK. All right I just want to put that out there.
I know you did it, but it's. Like…it's I dunno Okay Anyways what were you going to say?
So. The thing is I'm trying to figure out is, did they make it for tick tock?
(19:12):
Uh did they make it intentionally to try to be.
Uh tech talk song. I think black Panthers did because she literally her entire fame is because of ticktock.
Like that's the only reason that anyone even knows who she is, you know what I mean?
But I think that, um I spice was just like vibe into it.
You know, what were you saying Zack? I'm just saying I feel like a lot of songs recently I've
(19:33):
been like, Made with the idea of certain parts are going to end up on ticktock.
Cause you can just tell when you get to certain parts of the song like yeah This part is
definitely going to be like, Cut up and add it to like different Tik TOK videos.
But the whole song becomes popular because of it Yeah, I guess that's that's one of the things
that bothers me about that is that it really feels like it's a segmented.
Um, like it really feels like. Every part is meant to be played by itself.
(19:58):
And so the music is. repetitive.
That's the route throughout the entire thing. Um which I mean, Like I was listening to music
and like, Like I said I liked the little retro keyboard kind of sound letter.
Retrovir kind of sound but yeah Yeah, it was. Pretty much the same thing in the entire way through.
Yeah Like no not a whole lot of variation. Changing.
(20:20):
Like even EDM songs change up the beat you know?
Yeah. Uh but you know, I'm trashing on it but I don't I don't think it's a bad song.
But I don't think it's a great song. Okay. So I would probably give it a four.
Oh my goodness. Man.
All right. Yeah that's that's that's really low…Yeah Six is pretty high.
(20:44):
That's what I said I said six is pretty high for real.
Yeah. I mean a high score is eight. Yeah I mean the way that I've always seen it as like five
is like the perfect like middle ground where it's like not good but not bad And you know what I mean?
That's the way that I've always seen it. You know, one of those songs You won't skip If it pops up.
If it's for me that's not a five. I'm not gonna like go out of my way to listen to whatever.
(21:08):
Okay I see what you're saying. So like, I don't see myself
ever like going out saying, you know what I really want to listen to that song again.
And so that's why That's what kind of what makes it fall down to a four?
I got you. Yeah I mean like I said you guys already know my thoughts Uh I would probably give
it a six as well Like I agree with you guys It's definitely not the best song in the world, but
(21:29):
just I spice verse I spices verse just hits me in a different way row.
You were telling me about. The day you said that she's one of the
like, Female rappers that you actually enjoy listening to her and dojo cat.
I like her and dojo cat They're the only ones that I like genuinely enjoy listening to.
It is hard to listen to a lot of like female rappers because they
do tend to say almost like the exact same stuff Yeah.
(21:53):
Well I also feel like pretty much every rapper does that. Yeah that's true.
We talked about this before. I don't like listening to pretty much.
rapper now like the. Even Drake is like 21 Can you do something for me Have you Have you heard that Kirk?
No it's so goofy. I don't listen to Drake.
Everyone was talking about how gay Drake is after that.
(22:13):
So anyways. Yeah. I could relate
…Anyways.
All right So I guess we're moving to game recommendations now Yep What's yours.
I'm starting Yes you are God Uh, I.
I'm going to be recommending Lego star wars the Skywalker saga.
(22:34):
All right. So here's the thing right? Kirk.
And I grew up playing Lego star wars together. He can he can tell
you about how much he hated playing with like a four year old me.
Um, it was. So frustrating I have nightmares about it…Um…
We don't have a split screen go this way…You're killing me literally.
(22:58):
Yeah. Um so. so there's a new one is like like I feel like it brings my childhood back a lot
Like Jackson, Uh and I played a lot Jackson's my best friend uh for people listening.
Um he and I played it like, uh, oh what…Hold on.
My thing is being weird. Okay There we go. All right We're good.
Um…I might need to change the cable.
(23:21):
Wait hold on Let me see…Okay All right Whatever We're good I'll Just leave it alone.
Um, so Jackson I played it a lot growing up and I feel like this one just like it hits every
nail to where it like it's it's…new but it also is like, you know it's still a Lego game you
know it's it's a lot of fun Um, The only problem that I've ever had with it is I feel like
(23:43):
every time that you have to go to a new mission, You have to go first out to uh out to outer
space, then back to the world It's like destiny, you know like in destiny how you have to
constantly go out in the space and then go to the next mission You know what I mean?
Uh which I think is the only frustrating part of it. me Other than that it's a pretty, pretty solid game.
(24:04):
Yeah. I remember playing Lego scarf star wars with you And whenever we're younger.
I mean we, uh so this was. They would have replayed it first It was
right after the um, fourth movie came out.
And so they only had 1, 2, 3 or.
No no. They had a, sorry. Four or five six, and then yeah, I know it's just the first movie.
(24:26):
Yeah. And that's the only ones that we could play And so that was, that was fun.
Um I remember do you remember doing the um, Crazy frog.
I remember crazy fire trucks now. The bounty hunter missions.
Um, I remember them but I don't remember doing them with They were like these time trials.
Where you had to like collect all the little like…fire hydrant looking things not very fire hydrant.
(24:50):
Yeah I'm just talking about. There's a little collectibles he had to go get and he had to get it before.
This is specified time. Otherwise you didn't unlock the new bounty hunter character or whatever.
And, uh I remember I was doing them and you want to do it. I was like okay Chad.
We're trying not to lose my temper with you. But we'll try it.
We'll try doing this together…And.
(25:12):
Man there was this one there was this Hoth one.
And you remember the planet and everything. There's this talk
…There was this like a little sliding part that was
super narrow and you could fall off both sides…and you had to
like slide yourself across it as you're falling down a ramp.
(25:33):
And you died. Every single time.
Character lost his shit. Every single time.
For the X-Box through the window and everything. I got grounded that day…That's why
he remembers the planet and everything…I couldn't play it for a week.
(25:53):
Is this better than nine 11 bro…That's crazy.
He was traumatizing…I think that's, that's the root cause of all my anger issues today
…So uh what what do you think is that cause that can I
played it together Uh quite a bit actually I think we have like 30 hours on steam of a hymn.
Uh me and him playing Lego star wars together. Yeah.
(26:16):
We have like 30 hours but we only got to like the fourth one because we tried to complete as
much as we could in each section Yeah And then like halfway through it
we just gave up Cause there's just so many collectibles like.
It's insane man. But yeah.
I mean do you still unlock different characters depending on how many things you've collected?
Actually I don't know I think you have to buy all the characters. Um but the difference is
(26:39):
instead of each one of them being in different character you also have different skins So like
each character has their own skins and then you buy the skins too It's like, Anyways it's just
got a very strong gameplay loop Something crazy like 300 characters though.
Yeah there's an insane amount of characters in it.
You know, It was like 320 or something Holy.
I remember in the original. Um so th the one that that
(27:03):
we played a lot actually later was the one that actually had all six yeah.
On the week. Yes. Yeah I remember Um, Well I think it was like Boba Fett.
Yeah. Was like…3 million credits or something like that Something insane.
Yeah there were Okay So there were, uh there were, I think it was four characters that were
(27:23):
over 4 million I think And they were all the ghost versions of, of uh Oh, yes.
Yeah. The ghost Yoda was the hardest to get.
And I remember Jackson and I literally played every single day to
try and get it And eventually we finally got ghost Yoda on the way.
Greatest accomplishment in my life I can't remember What's so special about them Were they like in vulnerable to damage?
(27:45):
They couldn't they couldn't get hit by anything. Yeah That's why they were so expensive.
Yeah. Phrasing. Yeah…All right
Zach what is your game…My game.
Um, you only released yesterday Shall I only have like an hour and a half of experience on it
but so far it's pretty good And at sons of the forest, Ah yeah, I saw it came out yesterday
(28:06):
Some of my friends were playing a Washington blip…By myself
Cause I I've I've timed decided I'm not going to really buy anymore…So I was watching my friends.
Because I didn't I didn't want to buy it because. Uh like not your style of game.
No it's not it's not really not my style Like it wasn't my style I used to play survival games all the time.
(28:27):
But there was a point where like, it was just so repetitive All the survival games were the
same…and I watched the play yesterday So So what were you saying about
Zack…I was going to say this one's pretty much like.
You just said it's repetitive This one is pretty much the same as just the forest But yeah a
different storyline, but they did change a whole lot of it now
instead of just like opening a book and dropping shit down and crafting it.
(28:51):
There's like a whole level to it Where you got to go to the sticks you break the sticks and stuff to make a fire.
I can tell they spent like a super long time designing the map too because it's one of those.
way better than the other one The other one looks like they just kind of took a chunk out of the earth and was like yeah that's good.
Yeah I remember we were we were doing like a speed run of the
forest uh altogether I think it was all three of us Right Did you play Kirk I don't remember.
(29:13):
A little bit. Yeah. Yeah. And then we went down in that cave And I remember there being, uh
like these tall black creatures that were just like attacking me.
And I didn't know what to do I was just running I was like Zach help And then Zach just letting me die.
Over and over again. Just let me die back and forth all the time.
Those are um, those are in this game. Still but
(29:35):
um, you can like befriend some of them.
Or you can put friend like this one girl. It's like a version of them.
Like…sits there and stares at you all the time.
That's crazy man So my friends were playing it and they had this little helper dude.
Did you have that Tuesday…Yeah Kevin.
(29:55):
Yes Kevin. And Kevin. Is that.
Thomas MPC on this pitch. I know every any game.
He just stands there like, like you're talking about this Other could walk off pick up a stick
and and sit down…Yeah.
Okay. It gave me the tutorial for it And I was like, okay that's why I opened up this notepad.
(30:18):
Tell him what I want to get done. And he goes and does it.
So I was like all right go get me some sticks and leave him right here I turned around, he brought me like five sticks.
All right that's fine. And then I was like all right go get me some logs And he just stood there and stared at me for like five minutes.
So I walked over picked up a log. He walked over and took the log from me
…He grabbed it off my shoulders and We went and brought it back Wow.
(30:43):
That's crazy man So are the NPCs just broken for now?
No. I mean it is still an early access though So.
It could just be an issue they don't want them to have and then they're still working on it But yeah he has.
Really dumb in general I guess. He was constantly getting the way of my friends when they were playing.
Like he was always in the way Yeah, that's funny man
(31:03):
…He came up I just wanted to take a break or something.
Uh yeah Okay Kevin go take a break from your other brake…I like ask him to follow me So he could go to this like camp.
And I was like running around turned around and I didn't see him So I opened up
my GPS thing and looked and he was still at the campsite.
(31:24):
I was still upset. Just the lazy man…for real we got in a helicopter crash and the dude just
sat there And once we to do everything for him, It's like having a cat as your NBC…Honestly
…All right So uh, Sons of the forest All right It's like what do you what do you give it so
far…Out of 10…So my hour and a half experience.
(31:50):
It's not that bad I'm giving it like a solid five.
So far. Well okay. I'm not trying to judge it too hard because it's still an early access Yeah
there's going to be a couple of bugs but yeah Well I mean I just want to say like for the record
the forest one was like Zach's favorite survival game Like he has that thing.
You memorized right…Yeah, so, I mean you're biased
(32:10):
but…if I didn't play the first one, I would probably play this one.
But I did play the first one so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.
I personally didn't really enjoy the first one that much Like I enjoyed it when we were all
playing together for like five minutes And then after that I was like I dunno.
But yeah. Yeah. Well I just don't think these are your styles of games.
Yeah. I worked…fast paced stuff.
(32:34):
Yeah. Yeah I'm definitely I definitely got a low attention span…All right Kirk.
So what's your game. So my game um came out today.
And it is Kerbal space program to. Oh my goodness…I give it an
eight…So it has
(32:54):
a I have a lot of hours and Kerbal space program.
A lot, um, and I still haven't landed on the furthest planet and that game.
Um, So for those of you that don't know Kerbal space program is a.
Space. Flight program. Simulation game.
(33:15):
Um, it has as close to real life physics as possible.
And that means that it tastes complex.
Um, you know, Route pathing to get even in the atmosphere.
From you know carbon is name of the earth in this.
World. Um and. So for him the steam description for, uh KSB to I'm sorry I
(33:39):
just gotta say real quick Kurban sounds like that one guy who always took showers completely
naked in the locker room Continued…Um…Uh, curb.
Uh KSB two is the SQL of the claim space flight simulation game.
Terrible space program. Inter the next generation of space of injure with exciting new parts starting visuals.
Fully revamped UI. at map view and rich new environments to explore.
(34:04):
So if you don't know Kerbal space program came out. For ever ago.
For ever ago. And. Even though it's still a great game It does not look very good.
Yeah. Kerbal space program to looks amazing.
Like it looks so so good. Um I've played about five minutes of it, by the way.
(34:24):
But a look so so good…Like I said I
came out today and I bought it installed it right before I came over to do the podcast.
I knew it was gonna be my recommendation because it came out today So of course I got a
recommended…Um by the way for those of you listening.
This is not being released the same day that we recorded it So if you're going to say oh it didn't come out today.
Yeah no it didn't That's because it came out today when we're recording…Tapping before
(34:50):
…Sorry Kurt…I'm getting triggered by something that hasn't happened yet.
Um, yeah. I mean I think we have all solid recommendations Mine's the best but, um yeah.
Okay…No Um,
So uh Zack, did you play the first one ever?
(35:11):
Really I have like, I don't own it on mine. Uh, computer I
have played it with a friend but I only played it for like 30 minutes.
I don't remember. 180 hours.
Played it a lot Yeah. I ever play at Kirk I don't remember.
I don't think you have Okay. So the new the new one is going to have multiplayer.
(35:33):
In the future. Um and colony building and stuff So it's, it's going to be adding a lot of
stuff So in the first one, You're basically just building rocket ships trying to land on planets.
And there was sort of like a campaign where, you know when you
successfully did certain milestones you would get more grants and funding.
And he had to perform experiments to get more science to unlock new parts.
(35:54):
So I was kind of the progression there The game loop. Yeah.
And so uh but in a new one you're gonna be able to like, make colonies on planets Uh there's
always wants to colonize it's part of his European blood…Yeah Okay
…Um, And uh, you know you're going to.
(36:14):
Made me lose my train of thought…He got all excited about the colonies
…You're
ridiculous…All right Anyways you're saying.
Um the thing that I'm excited for is going to be multiplayer though.
I'm not sure how it's going to work, but it seems like it'd be really fun to have you idiots playing with me.
(36:36):
And y'all trying to pilot the ship. At mission control, trying to tell y'all where to go.
Like, all right We're take a 5% thrust at a three degree angle to the side and
I'll be like, all right a hundred percent gun It…you've ever seen.
If you guys ever heard of the uh the shipwreck that happened because the uh the captain was like to instead of like actually take.
(37:00):
care of what was happening, he was too busy having an affair on his wife.
No No Okay Well basically what you just said about like the the degree angle.
The all of the people had the wrong degree angle and the captain was too busy to I do realize
that they all have the wrong degree angle Anyways, they weren't 100% speed and gotten a huge wreck.
A lot of people died because of it It was so stupid. Are you saying you and Zachary and have a
(37:22):
fair and my spacecraft Yes…Absolutely.
100%. I'm surprised it took you this long to pick up on that…So…alright Kerbal space
program to not going to play…Alright, Tom for docking Chad
…Oh my gosh
(37:46):
Yeah, I'm going to need some good sounding Zack…Yeah
…You were a little bit too Okay With that I'm not going to lie.
10 out 10 from I realize what you said. 10.
Yeah 10 out 10 for my game Moving on. Ten five, five minutes That's all I got.
All right Yeah. I mean, Solid 10.
(38:08):
Kind of a hundred. I give it a five…Yeah that's.
I don't know Ma'am…okay…Obviously I haven't played the game but I just don't like space games.
Space exploration games in general like I think okay.
You don't have the patience for them I don't have the patients but also do you remember that one
game that everybody was super hyped about Cause it'd be like random generate Jay randomly generated planets.
(38:34):
Um I can't remember what it's called. Uh you
definitely played it It has a very like, like oh the one that's good now.
Yeah the one that used to be horrible. No ma'am. I think that's the root cause of me hating space games so much.
Because I was one of the people that was incredibly hyped for no man's sky.
Yeah And then when it came out I was just so disappointed.
(38:56):
Ever since then I just haven't enjoyed like any space games like really good now.
I still needed to try it now. Wait for it to…feel like they just shit on my face.
VR mode. We have VR mode and no man's sky That sounds terrifying.
But I would love to play that. We've all got a VR headset Maybe we can.
Give it a try at some point Yeah. I've actually been thinking about. We should play Pavlov
(39:16):
Pavlov looks like a lot of fun I have it.
Yeah. I needed, I needed to get it. Do you know Pavlov is.
Uh, it's one of those um, shooting games Yeah It's it's easiest goes type of thing.
Honestly a lot of people compared to see us go I think it's more like rainbow.
If you ask me. It's very heavily Like, you know you you go into this place you have to take it over from the enemy team.
(39:39):
Uh try and do it as quick as possible So they don't kill you before you kill them That kind of thing.
It might be the way the game is styled That. Given off the fiasco vibes.
I agree The guns. Yeah the looks and the guns Yeah I see what you mean.
So are you playing are you going against enemy like actual people?
It's actual people Yeah. Yeah. Anyways I think that we should play it.
(40:00):
It looks like a lot of fun. Yeah. Maybe that'll be our recommendation next time…All right
Well I think that we are reaching the end of this episode.
Um, hopefully everyone here has enjoyed.
What you've heard, uh if not I don't care.
Um, tell us in the. Is this going to be on YouTube?
Probably tell us in the comments dislike the video. Uh get our interaction rate up.
(40:23):
So…And wait what'd you say Zack?
So let's get a review on Kirk song. I want to see what everyone thinks about that.
I actually do want to know what like everybody blow it up I want to know what you guys think
about Kirk's song genuinely…Oh the song that I recommended.
Okay. Yeah…Um so uh charity want to give your shout out real quick?
(40:47):
Oh yeah Um go uh check out pitch and or poor boys on any streaming platform whatsoever.
I make some pretty great music. And uh yeah.
Yeah. You can't find me anywhere because I'm not doing anything right now.
Um Zach Isler…Um no I'm not doing anything with my life right now.
So this will most likely be the first episode that we release Um but we have recorded two other episodes.
(41:13):
But they were kind of crap. So um we're going to IMO.
Give it a little time. Maybe they'll like be like a special release in the future for these.
Over those past episodes. So. Thank you everyone for listening.
Uh thank you everyone for listening We're going to go ahead and sign off for now Um and we will.
See you in the next episode. Thank you. Bye-bye…
