Speaker 3 (01:16):
Thank you.
Thank you, natalie, for havingme on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I'm so excited you're
here.
So tell us a little bit aboutwhat you do and how you got
started.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
We got started with
this back in 2017 and it came
about as an accident, so I'lltell you a little bit about how
we got started and first tellyou what we do, as you asked.
So MarketingBoostcom is one ofthe businesses that I founded
and operate, and the mostexcited about is what I really
what gets me up out of bed everyday, fired up and because we
(01:45):
help other businesses.
We kind of reach down theladder and help other businesses
grow and scale, and I get a lotof pleasure out of that and
have fun with that.
Marketingboost provides what Icall the wow surprise and the
light factor.
We provide three differentcategories of incentives that
business owners around the worldthat are using us can use to
(02:05):
acquire more clients, more leads, provide loyalty programs,
create trade show giveaways, engagement, grow Facebook groups
.
I mean, there's a million waysto use our incentives, and so,
again, just to summarize, weprovide three categories, one
being complimentary hotel staysand 130 destinations around the
world, from three to sevennights stays, with no time share
(02:29):
hoops to jump through oranything like that.
We provide restaurant savingsvouchers that are good
throughout the USA and Canadaand hotel savings cards that
come in multiple increments, from one, two, three or five
hundred dollars, and so theseincentives can be used to get,
as I mentioned, to acquire moreclients, etc.
How I got started was anaccident.
(02:50):
We were.
We've been in the travel space,my partners and I can.
I keep on rambling away, goahead.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I want to hear it.
I love a happy accident.
It's my favorite.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Yeah, I'll get in the
microphone here, but we started
this in 2017.
We were previously launched atravel business in about 2012
and it was growing, you know, very fast.
We were one of the fastestgrowing travel companies in
North America with that website, and we wanted video
testimonials.
We kept thinking, man, if weonly had people giving us video
(03:21):
reviews, that would give us thesocial proof we needed to sell
more of these destinations, hotels and resorts we were
offering.
But we couldn't get hardlyanybody to ever give us a video,
go that extra mile of not onlywriting a review, maybe, but
better filming a selfie videotestimonial.
So we came up with an idea tooffer a bonus vacation and do a
(03:43):
survey.
Now, mind you, this is a quickidea everybody can use, because
everybody needs more socialproof.
We all need testimonials andreviews.
So we came up with a surveyprocess to when we felt our
clients were at the peak oftheir happiness was day after
check, and so we sent them anemail and say, hey, how's the
hotel living up to yourexpectation?
And if they said, that's great, you know, give us a four or
(04:05):
five star rating.
We would follow up with anemail and a text message,
automated, of course, and wewould send them a message saying
hey, if you know we're thrilledthat you're enjoying this hotel
and resort, would you go, wouldyou do us a huge favor and film
us a selfie, testimonial, andbrag about the hotel brand and
about our brand, and if you dothat, we'll reward you with a
(04:26):
bonus three night getaway on usin Orlando or Las Vegas.
Suddenly, we had dozens of thesereviews coming in that we
couldn't get before then, hundreds, and of course, now we
had to turn the campaign offbecause it was expensive to give
people three night hotel stays.
But those reviews were powerful.
We had exactly what we wanted.
(04:46):
We were generating more sales, publishing them on our Facebook
and our YouTube channels, on ourTV ads, et cetera.
And but now we had to turn offthe campaign and we didn't want
to, but we, so we went back toour hotel partners and this is
how marketing boost was born.
We went back to our hotelpartners and said, hey, we come
up with an idea and let's be.
(05:07):
You've got a problem that wethink we can help you solve.
Let's be honest, your hotel isnot full year round, is it?
I mean, sure you sell out forcertain weekends, special events
, holidays, easter, 4th of July, christmas week, but the
majority of the year 70% of theyear, let's be honest 30, 40,
50% of your rooms are goingempty.
(05:27):
And yet you still have the samefixed cost the mortgage, the
staff, the maintenance fees, thecrew, all that stuff.
They agreed and so we got accessin a few hotels in Orlando and
Vegas to their, their unsoldinventory at either ridiculously
low price or free.
And now we were able tocontinue, go back to fulfilling
(05:48):
those trips for Orlando andVegas and doing those, giving
away our own incentives to getpeople to give us video reviews.
And then we thought toourselves wow, can you imagine
if we solicited more hotels allover the world for this, we
would have another standalonebusiness, which is what became
marketingmovescom today, wherewe provide business owners with
(06:09):
a low cost subscription accessto these very high perceived
value incentives that they canuse with whatever their call to
action is, to enhance their callto action.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
That is super, super
cool.
So basically kind of stumbledonto this need and solved the
problem, and not only did youwere able to offer your clients
like these amazing things butalso you were able to help the
hotel industry out too, which Ialways love.
Is is so cool.
When we're able to like kind ofgive back to businesses, that's
amazing.
So now you have a huge Facebookgroup.
(06:41):
So, what goes into that Facebookgroup Tell me, like what
happens in there, because everyFacebook group, I find, is a
little bit different.
You can get different valuefrom different groups.
So what kind of value do youbring to your members?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Well, a few things.
One, the community and ourgroup.
The purpose of it is obviouslyis to teach business owners how
they can use these marketingboost incentives to grow,
whatever business they're in,and use them, because a lot of
business owners, when theyenvision an incentive based
marketing, which is what weteach, they don't really get it.
(07:16):
And so what do you?
You know, well, I'm not in thetravel space, so how would I use
travel incentives to enhance myreal estate business?
Or how would I use travelincentives?
I'm an insurance agent?
Or I am, you know, I'm aplumber.
How would I use an incentiveyou know, travel incentives.
So they don't get it.
So, in the community we are, youknow, we provide, we always
(07:36):
examples and we have hugelibraries of videos that we've
created for our, for all kindsof industry niches, and graphics
that are editable in Canva, andwe encourage and run contests
with our group members to showfor them, to show the community,
how they're using theseincentives and what their Black
Friday offer was and what theirChristmas promotions are looking
(07:59):
like and what their, you know, valentine's Day promos are gonna
be about with the you know, couples getaways and incentives
that marketing boost offers.
And so we encourage our membersto share what they're doing
that's working and to helpothers along the path of
learning how to use theincentives.
And then we have our guidessection with a whole library of
(08:21):
training videos and content.
We go live with training and wehave our own podcast that we
have guests on, where we'reshowing business owners, you
know, and encouraging them withsuccess stories and what have
you, over and above incentives, but helping people grow their
business and go down thatentrepreneur journey, which is
(08:45):
sometimes very lonely, and inthe community we help each other
along.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, and what I love
about those types of groups too
is that you're giving them kindof reminders like, hey, start
planning for like how manypeople you know?
Be honest with yourself, totally miss Black Friday.
That was me.
Me and my team totally missed it.
We had so much going on.
It was a great month for us,but we totally missed it.
And we didn't miss it for ourclients, though, which is always
(09:11):
a good thing.
But those types of Facebookgroups give you reminders, right
and so, and you also feel likeyou're not alone.
So if you did miss it, I'm suresomeone pops up in that group.
We, like I totally missed it,but I love that, and we need
that accountability and supportas entrepreneurs because, like
you said, super, super lonely.
I became a mom and entrepreneurat the same time and I feel
(09:34):
like I was put into the mostloneliest positions in the world
, where all you have is thistiny little human and then you
have a brand new business andit's like they're both babbling
and not making sense.
So that is amazing, that you'vecreated this support network of
people that are there tosupport you, and you know also,
(09:55):
they pretty much have kind ofthe same goals, especially when
it comes to marketing.
Is that right?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Exactly, yeah,
everybody.
You know we used to be calledadvertising boost before we
changed our name to marketingboost a few years ago and when
we realized, you know, most ofour members don't consider
ourselves, nobody reallyconsiders themselves an
advertiser anymore.
We're marketers.
You know, we're marketing gurusbefore we're advertising gurus,
(10:21):
and so we decided to change thename to marketing boost a few
years ago and that's been a bigboost as well.
But back where I forgot thequestion.
But at the end of the day, thecommunity and the goals that
we're all searching for here isto is to, you know, help,
because so many business ownerstoday, I mean is never in my
(10:41):
mind has never been a bettertime to be an entrepreneur than
right now.
The technology that's availablethat, for example, that you
provide, bringing software andsolutions to, together with you
know, virtual assistance andsoftware together I think it's
powerful.
We do some similar things withour marketing boost solutions,
product line, and the idea beingis that there's never been, in
my opinion, a better time to bean entrepreneur, has never been
(11:03):
easier, in the sense thattechnology is so affordable and
able to build everything fromsales funnels to marketing
campaigns, to email texting,voicemail, broadcasting.
It's all available andaffordable, but now you got to
stand out from the crowd Becauseyou OK, it's easy.
You know, when I started as anentrepreneur online entrepreneur
in 1996, it wasn't an easy task.
So there's a, but today it's alot easier.
(11:26):
On the other hand, there's alot more competition and one of
the things we do with marketingboost is give you some of those
those tools, incentives thatmight help you stand out from
the crowd, might make your offerbe completely different than
your competitor, and then givepeople a reason to select, you
know, to get off the fence anddo take action with your
business, versus not at all.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah, I'm always
telling my clients one of the
most important things in yourbusiness is your tech stack.
That's the technology used torun and promote and grow your
business right.
So having something likemarketing boost is really really
great because it's giving theincentive.
It's because you said you coulduse it for referrals.
What other things can you use amarketing boost for?
(12:08):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, that's a great
point.
I mean, we are launching arewards platform here pretty
soon as well, so that you cangive people digital rewards
cards that might include youknow, when you do 10, you know,
visit my restaurant 10 timeswill reward you with one of the
following incentives.
Or when you refer three clientsour way, we're going to reward
(12:31):
you with one of these.
You know, $500 hotel savings, cars or five nights in Cancun on
us, and so you know, these, these incentives, with a little
bit of creativity, can be usedfor, I mean give.
I'll give you some case studyideas here.
For example, I had a companythat generated over a million
dollars in the first year usingmarketing boosts in additional
(12:55):
cash flow in their bank account.
And they were a windshield andreplacement repair company which
doesn't make any.
There's no tie in to travelright?
Well, in their marketplacesthey have to give cash rebates
to consumers when they select,if they choose them to install
their new windshield versussomebody else, because typically
(13:15):
the insurance companies pay forthe windshield.
So they're one of their ways toattract the customers.
A choose us and we'll give youcash back, since they don't even
have to pay for the windshield.
But that cashback was expensive, right, giving everybody $150
$200 cashback checks.
When they found marketing boost, they trained all their
installers to go when theyfinished installing the new
(13:35):
windshield, that go and say, hey, you have $200 cashback coming
to you, or we can trade that forfive nights in Cancun or Cabo
San Lucas, mexico, on us instead, or you could get three nights
in Las Vegas, and so you knowwe'll keep the $200 cash and
give you three nights in LasVegas on us instead of cash.
(13:56):
And so they got you knowbunches of people to accept the
bonus offers and sent instead ofcash, and they kept over $1
million in additional cash intheir pocket.
That's obviously an ongoingprogram for them.
Another idea was we had abusiness owner who had a
subscription model.
He had hundreds of peoplepaying him $97 a month for his
(14:18):
advice and what have you onstocks and cryptocurrencies and
everything else he came up with.
Even when he found marketingmoves, he came up with a
campaign to say, hey, if you payfor 12 months in advance, you
get into our VIP club, whateveryou call it, or six months in
advance, you get there.
You know he created differentlevels if you pay for six or 12
months in advance, and he didstuff like his own incentive,
(14:39):
like if you pay for 12 months, you get the 13th month free and
you get five nights in Hawaii orfive nights in whatever.
Well, he had over 300 peoplestep up and pay for an annual
plan and advance at $1,200apiece.
He had another six 350 or sopay for six months in advance
and in four days he generatedalmost half a million dollars.
(15:00):
That has obviously become anongoing process for him as well,
to get people to go frommonthly to annual.
So that's just two examples ofmany on how these incentives can
be used to do, you know, getpeople to do whatever your call
to action is or whatever youwould like them to do next.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
That's awesome.
So it's not just referrals, butalso for lead generation, which
I know.
Everyone these days is alwayslooking for tools and ways to
grow their lead gen.
I don't think we're everstopped looking for ways to
improve our lead generation.
So that is amazing, do you?
So I was wondering so with thetravel incentives.
(15:43):
So we've used it for lead gen,we've used it for referrals.
Is there any other ways or anyother creative ways that people
have used a marketing boost?
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah, hundreds of
them.
But here's some quick and easyideas that any most of us today
are using.
For example, zoom calls, likeyou and I are on today.
So you you're you or your salesteam you need more appointments
.
So that's one goal that many ofus have right, we need to get
more appointments on ourcalendar for ourselves or for
our sales team.
And then two, what's anotherbig problem we have?
(16:16):
I know we do with our companyeven and that's no jokes People
book appointments and they don'tshow up on time or don't show
up at all, and then your staffis waiting around like son of a
gun.
I had this our book for thisperson and they didn't show.
So we have found many of ourbusiness owners are using very
successfully our smallerincentives, such as $100
restaurant savings card or a$100 or $200 hotel savings card,
(16:41):
and in their sales funnel flowthey might be saying hey, book a
no obligation appointment totalk to one of our team members
to see if it's a good fit for usto work together, and we're
going to reward you with a $200hotel savings card when you book
that appointment and show up ontime.
So now your automated remindersthat you should have.
(17:02):
If you don't have that, youneed to get that, but your
automated reminders of textingand emailing and getting them to
show up for the appointment canbe reminding them.
Don't forget show up on timefor our two o'clock appointment
tomorrow and I'm going to rewardyou with a $200 hotel savings
card, good at a million hotelsworldwide, for your next you
know getaway.
(17:22):
And so now you're using theseincentives to kill two birds
with one stone book moreappointments and eliminate
no-shows.
So if that helped you boostjust a little bit more
appointments and helped reduceyour no-shows by X amount,
that's going to do what at theend of the day?
Probably put a lot more moneyin your bottom line, because
(17:43):
your sales team is going to betalking to more people and
you're going to have moreappointments to start with.
So that's just you know.
Another example there of usingthe incentives.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Awesome.
Well, I have learned so muchand I think this is an amazing
tool to add to your text.
So thank you so much, Marco.
Where can we find more aboutmarketing boost and about you?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
