Wiregrass Daily News met with Bob Gross, a member of the Tri-State Area Choir, to talk about an exciting patriotic event happening this weekend. On Saturday, June 28th at 6 p.m., Covenant Methodist Church will host a concert titled O’ America, featuring The Governor's Own band and the Tri-State Area Choir.
The performance will include over 100 singers and a 150-piece band playing a variety of patriotic songs. A special highlight will be In Flanders Fields, an original piece by local songwriter and band director James Holmes, written by candlelight during Hurricane Michael.
The choir includes singers from Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, ranging in age from young teens to 88 years old. This event promises a powerful and moving tribute to American pride and unity.
