And when you replace your windows,
you've got some old windows.
So what do we do with them?
I asked the window expert here,
Lyndol Woodruff to join me here on the program to answer just that question.
Hi,
Lyndol.
How are you?
Amazing.
How are you today?
I'm doing fantastic.
Ok.
So people buy new windows.
You install the new windows.

(00:20):
What happens to the old windows?
They go to landfill?
Sometimes people repurpose them.
Hm.
I've had homeowners that have old wood windows and they want to salvage them.
And I have,
I had one lady want to salvage all of her old wooden windows and create a montage with them in her barn.

(00:44):
Mhm.
Yeah.
And that's great.
And that's great with old wood windows because they're kind of classic and it's wood,
um,
an aluminum framed window,
for instance,
you know,
I don't know if many people want those and so you will remove them from the property,
correct?
Oh,
yes.

(01:04):
We haul everything away.
Yes.
Yeah,
because those,
uh,
those frames are,
are buckled.
We can't do anything with them except take them to the landfill,
but some people want to keep them and take the aluminum to a junkyard,
their,
their,
themselves and get,
you know,
get some money for it,
which is fine.
We'll just take all the glass and go dump all that stuff.
But,

(01:24):
um,
yeah,
we take care of all that,
everything *** and span by the time we leave,
like nothing ever happened.
Yeah.
And,
and so the good news everybody is,
you don't have to worry about the old windows.
Lyndol and his team will take them away for you.
But if you have a special request,
I guess you can use them for whatever you want to use them for,
get creative if you can.

(01:45):
But to your point,
Lyndol,
many of these windows when they come out,
they,
they're no longer,
um,
in the same form that they went in,
they're buckled,
they're,
they're dented,
they're,
they're squashed.
They're,
they're not in the same form.
So they're,
they're not really,
uh,
useful.
But if you can take a window out and it still works,

(02:05):
you could possibly put it in an old shed or a barn or something.
Yeah,
it's possible with the old wood windows for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Excellent.

how did you know like well be because bad windows create these problems?
It's the same in every single home.
It's inevitable,
the problems that older windows are gonna cause.
So,
yeah,
