(00:02):
Hello everyone.
Welcome to Yoga with Ms.
Brandon.
Guided meditation and relaxation practices.
A meditation practice is usually done sitting up, and a relaxation practice is usually done lying down.
Today I'm gonna guide you through the Lotus Flower Relaxation practice to plant tiny seeds of kind thoughts to grow into beautiful flowers.
(00:30):
So gather up blankets and comfy pillows to create a soft bed to rest in preparing for relaxation and planting your tiny seed thoughts in the garden of your mind.
Settle into your comfortable place and plan to be quiet, peaceful, and still.
I for the next 10 minutes or so.
(01:03):
The lotus flower begins its journey down in the bottom of a muddy lake or pond.
It is safe and protected there while it waits patiently to grow towards the sun.
As the lotus seeds sprouts, it begins to reach for the sunlight at the top of the water.
(01:23):
It sets down strong roots as it journeys up to the sun and burst through the surface of the water a beautiful blooming flower.
We are like this lotus flower beginning our journey in a safe place while reaching for the light.
Our strong roots keep us supported and secure as we wiggle through the mud and grow bigger and more colorful each day.
(01:53):
Let's begin the Lotus Flower Relaxation Practice in a comfortable position lying down on your back, your stomach, your side, or any way that feels relaxing to you.
Begin to relax your whole body from the top of the head down to the tips of your toes.
(02:18):
Close your eyes if that feels okay, and begin to take a few long, slow breaths in through the nose and out of the nose.
Feel the cool breath as it goes in through the nose and the warm out breath.
(02:42):
Take a few more breaths, just like that cool air going in.
And feel the warm out breath.
(03:13):
And now picture in your mind a little seed down in the bottom of a muddy lake or pond.
This is the Lotus Flower Seed.
It is safe and protected here in the earth.
Watch it sprout and grow through the mud toward the light of the sun, above the surface of the water.
(03:39):
As it moves through the mud, it struggles a bit working to reach for the light, but each struggle gives the roots strength.
Feel your strength.
The Lotus Flower seed keeps growing towards the sun, feeling strong and supported by the earth.
(04:07):
As it reaches the surface of the water, it bursts out to the light of the day.
Now a blooming beautiful, colorful flower.
What color is your flower? Take a few moments to notice your breathing.
(04:27):
Cool air going in through the nose and the warm out breath and picture your lotus flowers color, red for strength, blue for wisdom.
(04:49):
White for calm, pink for joy, or all different colors.
Continue to breathe in peace and breathe out calm.
(05:21):
The Lotus Flower has reached its goal and completed its journey.
Now it floats on the water feeling happy and free.
You are like this lotus flower.
Growing and reaching for the light.
Think of something that you would like to see grow, to see change, or to become one day, nurture that seed thought and watch it grow.
(05:51):
Reaching for the light.
Take a few moments to watch your seeds become real, feeling calm, peaceful, and still just breathing.
(07:47):
If you have noticed yourself getting caught up in the weeds.
Of different thoughts.
That's okay.
Just bring yourself back to your lotus flower, floating on the water, feeling happy, peaceful, and free.
(08:58):
Notice that you are breathing and take a deep breath in and out.
Begin to move and stretch your fingers and toes.
Wiggle your hands and feet, and begin to wake up from the lotus flower relaxation practice.
(09:23):
Take your time and gently come up to sit in a comfortable seat.
Thank you all for practicing the Lotus Flour relaxation today.
Remember to hold your seed thought in your heart as you go about your day.
Until next time, I am Miss Brandon.
Namaste.
