Speaker 1 (00:00):
Why you should not kill dragonflies and the Flavor of
twenty twenty five Summer, from this week's show Billy and
two D in the Morning on iHeartRadio. All Right, so
before I get to why you should not kill dragonflies,
let me start with your fingers, because I thought this
was kind of cool. They are built in measuring tools,
so like, if you need a rough measurement of something,
(00:20):
the distance between the first and second finger joints of
your index finger is.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Usually about an inch. Is that right? Apparently? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I always wonder, you know, because when you go to
get your hair cut, I'll say, like, now you need
like the two fingers, but I feel like my fingers
are bigger than the person cutting, and then my hair
gets shorter than I wanted it because their two fingers
aren't the same.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
And this is why I'm not so sure about that
life hack, because I go, what if you have longer fingers?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Lilies? Yeah, right, exactly makes sense, But you know, give
it a shot.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
This is something that coming into mosquito season.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
You should know.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
When I was a little girl, dragonflies used to scare
me so much. I would say, Daddy, Daddy, get rid
of them. Well, don't because dragonflies are nature's way of
getting rid of those pesky mosquitos. In fact, one dragonfly,
it's like a flying assassin then can eat over one
hundred mosquitos a day.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Is a dragon fly different than a horsefly?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, big difference. Yeah there. Horselies are just big flies.
They bite.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Dragonflies have huge wings, they kind of little skiny bodies,
and they will skim the surface of.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Water of your pool. What I love you painting the
picture of the dragonfly. That's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
But they eat one hundred mosquitos a day, So keep
those beautiful dragonflies solid advice.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
And that is just for the heck of it.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Okay, So food for thought, and I've got a couple
of different things i want to share with you. First
and foremost, they have now officially announced the flavor of
the Summer of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Judy.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
It is an old favorite, or at least an old
favorite of mine.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Okay, summer flavor.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
It's gotta have something to do with like popsicles or.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Lemons, dreamsickles is this year's summer flavor. That, of course
would be the vanilla ice cream that's covered with the orange.
You say, Sherbert you say, Sherbert, how do you say it?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Surbert? But there's no ron it right, there's no range it.
But I've always said s Sherbert too. Some confused by
that we're wrong.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I know the retro flavor is making a comeback, and
they say that you're gonna see dreamsickle flavors in everything
this summer, from cocktails to desserts to even lattes.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Ooh, I love that. Isn't that like a like an orange?
So it's orange?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
I just told you what it was, vanilla ice cream
with the orange, right?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
But was this the orange on the outside and the
vanilla on the inside.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Listen to anything that I say, vanilla ice cream on
a stick that's covered with orange?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Sherbert. Oh, that's what you meant.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
But now one more food for thought. There really isn't
kind of is your dream has come true? If you
love the smell of birthday cake and you like your
kitchen to smell like a birthday cake, I love that
Hefty has created.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Stick with me now.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
A birthday cake scented trash bag to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Their sixtieth birthday.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
One word, no, The price is just sixty cents for
a box of twenty kitchen size bags. The only caveat
it is a limited edition, so they say, if you
see them in stores, grab them before they are gone.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
I always buy these scented laundry trash stuff whatever, trash
bags out laundry, and they never smell good.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
So I'm just saying, noo, a little.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Food for thoughts with us billion, Judy in the morning.
Time for some food for thought this morning. I'll start
out with McDonald's. Although I know you are a vegetarian,
is there anything in McDonald's that you actually eat?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I eat fish. I'm a pascatarian, so I like when
you're a filet of fish.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Great news for night owls like you, Judy, you get
those late night.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I know you get bunchies.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I do. Just the time for the summer, McDonald's announcing
they're keeping the lights on longer with extended hours to
satisfy your cravings on a hot summer night, McDonald says
most locations across the country will stay open until midnight
or later.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
What time did they close? Now?
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I thought they were opened later like that. But also
I know less people are going to fast food places.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Well, maybe that will change.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
I go to bed at like eight thirty, so I
had no idea what time they closed the move they
say coincides. Well, this is really great news. A huge
summer hiring spree at McDonald's. They are expecting to add
about three hundred and seventy five thousand new workers across
the country.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
That's fantastic. I love hearing that.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
I've heard that they also raised their minimum to I
don't know what their prices are, but they're above minimum
that's what I've heard.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
It's about minimum wage. Yeah, yes, they did. And they
also raised the prices.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Of their food.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh that's why they did that little food Throughout.
