Speaker 1 (00:47):
Bring it on the second weekend of September of twenty
twenty five hot as. You know what, but I am
here for two hours going to chilli you down with
some good information, maybe to entertain you by answering your question.
You call the hotline here, give a few things to way,
talk a little football, and I will say this. I
can promise you this. There will not be one mention

(01:11):
of k Hoop Demon Hunters on this show. That is
the last time I mention it. I don't know really
anything about it other than the fact it's a Netflix show.
It's a cartoon, it's a musical. But it's like the
most popular show ever seen on Netflix, and your kids
are going and nuts for it. Not mad Now, I'm

(01:32):
an only murderers in the building guy, very excited. They
just came out on Hulu. And yes, I do cover
the streaming world because that is technology and some of
the things that we do right here on the High
Tech Textan show. We promise not to lojah, definitely promise
to not to talk geeky. We're not going to use
the terms like megabytes and gigabytes or anything like that.
My name is Michael. It's just as simple as that.

(01:53):
Michael Garfield is the name, and I will give you
the phone number if you want to hang in, chill out,
stump me with the trivia question, ask me something that
you may be in the mode for buying. And it
doesn't need to just beep and chirp and something like
that like a phone. No, it could be a TV.
It could be a car. Don't forget. I test drive
cars for the past fifteen years and I am all

(02:13):
over and I'll tell you what sexy beasts, little two
seat hot rod sports car I am in. Not only
will we not talk about that Netflix show that I
just mentioned, I'm gonna see how long I can avoid
talking about the new iPhones. Odds are I could go

(02:34):
the two hours. I am not the biggest iPhone fan.
I am an Android guy. I am not paid by Android.
I should be paid by Android or Samsung because I
have sold more of those over the past twenty two years.
I have been doing this radio show, just not an iPhone.
Got more people in the world use the Android operating system.
I choose to speak to the massive the massive audience

(02:56):
that I have all around the world, which you can
listen to. Me an I heart radio, but if you're
listening terrestrially, sometime during the weekend, my show is heard
in Houston KPRC nine to fifty am, Dallas Talk Radio
eleven ninety, San Antonio WOAI twelve hundred. I am told
that not only my show airs at as regular times

(03:19):
which it's supposed to for two hours, they're using me
as fillers. So sometimes my show is heard two to
three times over the radio in a given market over
the weekend. Folks, I've been doing this almost a quarter century.
I'm sick of me. I'm sure you're also sick of
me too, But you don't need to listen to all three.
Just give me a little of your time, maybe fifteen
minutes between now and the end of the commercial because

(03:41):
that's what we get counted for as a listener here
in the radio business, gets you some inside baseball. But
I would like to interact with you. I do do
the typical social media. You could find me on what
have we got Facebook? We've got Instagram if you're not blocked. Also,
ex high tech Texan spelled the whole thing now h
I G H T E h T e x A

(04:04):
N some of the things that we are yapping about today, Well,
we have a new potential future overlord, an overlord of
the richest man in the world, at least temporarily, who
overtook our Texas homeboy, Elon musk It maybe temporary. I'm

(04:24):
familiar with him. He has long been in the tech industry,
a big college football fan in Booster. We will tell
you who that is, what company is, and why all
of a sudden, he's been very quiet for a decade.
He just went nuts out with his company in his
stock this past Thursday. We will tell you about that.
And also I saw a story in the Wall Street

(04:46):
Journal that really got me thinking. There are now parents
who bribe their kids to stay off their phones. Can
you believe this? I mean, their kids to stay off
their cell phones. I'm lucky I don't have to do that.
My kids are older, they're in their twenties and actually

(05:06):
one is in his thirties. Work, they can, they pay
for their cell phone, and they're responsible, they know what
they need to do. But if you're a parent, I
kind of a want you to hang in. We'll see
if we can get to the in the next segment,
maybe the next two segments of what are your thoughts
on this? I used to give out parental advice when
I started the show twenty years ago and my kids

(05:27):
were very young. Over Hey, Michael, what's the perfect age?
What's the age? The youngest aide that I should get
my kid a cell phone? And they're asking me questions
like should I get my kid a laptop? Where should
they put their laptop? Is it okay to put their
laptop in the room and close the door, And quite simply,
my answer is this, I am not going to be

(05:48):
the parent of your kids. It's an age old parenting discussion.
Do you spank your kids? Do you, you know, tell
your kids you're going to ship them off to military
school if they don't obey. Do you take your belt off?
Do you tell them no, you're you know, you're grounded
in your room. You don't stay home for dinner. Everybody

(06:09):
parents their kids in a different way today. We just
have new vehicles, new tools to hold hostage for lack
of a better term, and for the most part at
social media, and for the most part, it's their car.
Still I throw over sixteen, it's and for a lot
of the time it's their phones. But there are parents,
and I'm going to kind of kind of cite a

(06:29):
lot of this stuff out of this article that I
was reading, But how much and how long parents are
bribing their kids? Some of them are? I think I
read up to six years. They're twelve years old. Hey man,
if you could stay off of your cell phone to
your eighteen, I'm gonna give you eighteen hundred dollars. Wouldn't

(06:49):
it be easier just to freaking take the phone away?
You're the parent, listen.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
I am.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'm certainly no doctor Ruth when it comes to sex
education up and I'm certainly, like you know, I'm not
mister Spock when it comes to or doctor Spock when
it comes to you know, parental advice. But when it
comes to technology, yes, anecdotally, I can actually kind of
give you average ages of what people do, what don't
and what are the rules and laws do There are
rules and laws of how young you can be or
how old you need to be to get on social media.

(07:18):
So that's one of the things we're also going to
talk about football season in full swing. We've got one
full NFL weekend underway. I am leading my Pickham group,
my tournament, which I am very probably with fourteen and two.
I'm happy about that. But what if your team is
outside of your home market. If you're listening in San

(07:38):
Antonio right now, maybe you're listening in Dallas and you're
a Detroit Lions fan, a Green Bay fan, a San
Francisco fan. Well, one option obviously is to hey, a
lot of money for the Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV.
I your faithful friend who always helps skirt the issues
and save you money. I have a way to watch
Sunday Ticket without hang for of subscription. I mean, anything

(08:04):
else I could do I probably will. I am gonna
probably give something away. So standby three four six twenty
nine Texan is how you can get in and participate.
Three four six two nine eight three nine two six.
Michael Garfield is a name, There is Callum, there is
Will there on the other side of that glass, making
sure the the dulcet zass sounds of my voice spread

(08:26):
out terrestrially over three big Texas cities and online on iHeartRadio,
which we do. Thank you for downloading the app. Enjoy
this weekend. I guess that's the second full weekend of September.
Hope you're watching a little football be it Saturday College
Sunday NFL. But we're gonna have some fun, don't go.
It is garf all old tjer doo long And I

(09:09):
kind of told you the story that we have a
new overlord. We have we have another potential richest man
in the world. I mean I did. I guess they
wake up and it's like I got more Marty than
you do. Elon Musk for quite a while has been
the world's richest man. Obviously, you know, we got Bill Gates,
he's been up there, and just a number of other people.

(09:32):
But it goes back and forth. Here's a name who
just this week had a very good Thursday, a very
good Thursday, pretty much the best day ever almost in
the history of the stock market. Larry Ellison. Anyone anyway,
Larry Ellison was very big in like the the nineties
the early two thousand. He is the founder and owner

(09:53):
of Oracle. Oracle are they based out there? Where are they?
Are they in California? Are they in Utah? It doesn't matter.
Oracle has been around for a while. Oracle stocks skyrocketed
as much as forty three percent Thursday morning, before pulling
back to about thirty six percent. That represented its biggest

(10:13):
single day gain and over thirty years, and a lot
of people were left in shock. See the thing is
Oracle is now expected to rake in four hundred and
fifty five billion dollars over the next few years for
contracts booked last quarter. That is a fourfold increase from
the same time last year. That'll skyrocket It's cloud infrastructure

(10:36):
revenue from about ten billion last year to one hundred
and forty four billion by twenty thirty. Where's this money
coming from? You ask, I have your answers. Most of
the payday are gonna come from open Ai. And this
is reporting in the Wall Street Journal. The maker of chat
GPT is going to pay three hundred billion dollars over

(10:57):
the next five year for Oracle's cloud computings service. Why
didn't I get into cloud computing. I didn't even get
into weather forecasting. I mean, come on, Michael Garfield is
the name? This is called the High Tech Texan Show.
Got a few phone calls coming in and stand by,
but I want to continue this story. I just hope

(11:20):
for Larry Ellison an Oracle shareholders take that AI is
not a bubble. Let's hope not. But Larry Ellison owns
about forty one percent of Oracle shares. Yesterday it was
I guess Thursday the morning jump at it over one
hundred billion dollars to his net worth, pushing it a

(11:40):
few yards past Elon Musks to three hundred and ninety
three billion dollars. Elon is not happy. There's some rumlins
over in bass Drop in Austin right now. It's it
ain't gonna be good. It was the largest single day
wealth increase Bloomberg has ever recorded. I'm happy. One time

(12:01):
I went to Vegas. I think I won sixteen hundred
dollars playing craps or something like that. Homeboy, one hundred
billion dollars in a single day. If you're not familiar
with Larry Ellison, Larry Ellison bought the sixth largest island
in Hawaii back in twenty twelve for three hundred million

(12:22):
dollars to make it a playground for the super rich.
There's already he's He built a Nobu sushi place. He
also dropped millions on Republican political candidates. And oh, by
the way, he's a big college football fan. I can
respect that. Sadly, he's a University of Michigan college football program.

(12:44):
He's the one. Actually his girlfriend or his young wife
is young girlfriend. They pay. They got the NAAL money,
nil money to pay the current University of Michigan quarterback
Bryce Underwood I think is his name. I don't know
how many millions of dollars to stay all right, right,
underwould better better start playing? Well? Just just crazy Larry

(13:05):
Ellison if you need him. I mean I followed Oracle.
I mean I talk about this. I don't have any
Oracle stock. I have zero game in this thing, nothing,
no sweat equity. I don't even have any equity. You
have nothing. I just like reporting this stuff because I
don't know. I didn't win the one point one point
eight billion dollar lottery powerball a few weeks ago. I

(13:29):
did did you see the Mega millions. Mega Millions was
three hundred and fifty three hundred and sixty million dollars
earlier this week. I never played the Mega millions. I
played one line this week. You know, the Mega millions
cost five dollars per line. Powerball's two dollars. This is
five dollars. So I'm like, whatever, I got a powerball, right,
I got the powerball right? I think on Tuesday night

(13:51):
Mega millions, and it was a four x multiplayer. I
won twenty bucks. Take that, Larry freaking Ellison. Damn, that's right, bro.
I bought a coffee. You bought a lobster. You know
what I'm saying? Where was I have no clue about this.
By way, the one's one of the megawallians and that's
still almost four hundred million right now. Phone number if
you want to get in it is three four six

(14:13):
twenty nine texts and three four six two nine eight
three nine two six Michael Garfield. You can find me
on x you can find me on Instagram at high
tech textan dot com. Next segment I'm going to I'm
going to talk about this parents bribing kids to stay
off their phones. It is a technology centric subject. I'm
always interested in this, just anecdotally. My kids are old

(14:37):
enough I don't worry about it, but I still get
this question. You know, man, Michael, you know what my
kid's ten is that okay? Or should I get him
a cell phone but not get him the cell plan
and only, you know, let them do it on Wi
Fi because there's a WiFi in the car. I like
talking about this, and I'd love to hear your thoughts,
especially if a few are our parents. I will tell
you this. I'll kind of lead in with this or
actually head you out to the second break with this.

(14:58):
I'm a Gmail fan. I use Gmail. I don't use
Gmail inherently. I don't use the Gmail app. I just
ford the Gmail to my Microsoft Outlook. I'm a Microsoft
Outlook person. Once in a while, I'll go into the
Gmail app, which I encourage everybody do to delete everything.
Because what I do is I make sure even though
I get Gmail, and I use my Gmail account daily

(15:20):
much more so than my high tech textan account. I
use my Gmail account and it's got like seventeen gigs,
seventeen terribies. It's got a lot of storage, but at
some point it gets full. I have photos, I have
videos and everything. So I do go into my Gmail account.
Actually I go to Gmail dot com or Google dot
com and I have to go in. I delete, delete, delete,
and do everything because I keep those things on the server.

(15:42):
But I don't use it. But for some reason, if
you use Gmail, it does a really nice job of
putting things into different categories. And they have different tabs.
They have a spam tab, they have like promotional tabs,
they have newsletters tabs. It kind of knows where to
go instead of cluttering up your inbox. This just in
they just create. Gmail just created an Amazon tab for

(16:03):
your Amazon purchases. You can find order confirmations and shipping updates,
estimates in a new tab called Purchases. It's coming to mobile,
It's coming to the web. So when you click on
the tab, you're gonna see only emails related to your purchases, confirmation,
shipping updates, everything. Now, Google's long had package tracking features

(16:26):
on its mobile app, but it's it's pretty cool that
this thing is happening. So along with this new tab,
Gmail is going to start flagging timely deals within its
promotions category, roll out a new filter that lets you
sort emails by the most relevant ones. And Google says
this filter's going to surface updates based on brands you
engage with the most. All right, it's coming out within

(16:46):
a few weeks. But do me a favorite. Go buy
something on Amazon. I am ash Medium. My favorite color
is purple. Maybe give me some little burn orange. I
kill all my weekends for you. The least you could
do is buy me a little something that's exactly what
I need something. Bottom of the Hour Michael Garfield. When
we come back, maybe you want to tell your kids
to walk away, maybe when your kids actually have their
say so. Actually, I would love to have kids call in.

(17:10):
What parents are bribing kids to stay off their phones? Kids,
if your parents offered you a thousand dollars a year
to stay off your phone, what would you do? Get
on your phone and call me at three four six
two nine eight three nine twenty six. It's Michael Garfield.

(17:54):
Bottom Hour number one Michael Garfield High Tech textan show
Happy second weekend of September. If you're watching your football game,
let's go go go keep one ear on this game.
One ear on me. If not, you can actually find
this show on I Heart Radio. Just look for Michael Garfield.
The High Tech Texan show, been doing it for twenty
three years. Before technology is sexy. I actually make tech sexy.

(18:17):
That's how I do it. Think it. A Calum read
will also for you know, making sure these segments are
airing and running on all our terrestrial iHeart Radio stations
and the big cities of Texas, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio,
and then putting it up on the Big Bird This
this will go up right when the show well by
the time you listen to it. Odds a rich actually
could be on the podcast iHeartRadio, So subscribe to it

(18:40):
and you can listen to me all the time. Interesting
topic here and as a dad, a father of three,
I certainly take heed to stories where it comes to
kids on many different levels. Obviously kids health, kids exercise,
you know, the sanity, what's going on in their lives,

(19:01):
but also social media, phones in technology. I've long been asked,
Michael Hell, what age is the proper rage for to
get my kid a phone? I mean, could it be
seven to eight years old? If I get it that young,
should I get him a cell phone? Should I get
him a phone number, a data plan? Or should I
just use Wi Fi? So you know, they could be

(19:21):
around me inside the car, inside the home. Should I
get a laptop? Can I give my little young teenager
a laptop and just let them go in their room,
close the door and do what they want to do?
I mean, listen. I've always had my personal advice. I
mean number one, No, I would not let someone who
is relatively or immature or you know, take a laptop
in their room and do something on the web. There's

(19:43):
too many crazy, stupid, bad things on the web out there. Yes,
there's great things in the web. But what I always
did with my kids, we had a desktop. Again, laptops
where you know, if you went and far between a
very expensive twenty five years ago. But we had a desktop,
a very big desktop, and we kept the desktop out
in the family room. And so if the three kids
who were young that time, three boys, they would you know,

(20:05):
we could keep an eye. We could stand right behind
him mom and dad to see what they were surfing
for surfing at and help them. Listen. My kids are
wonderful kids to this minute, just like me. They don't
do anything you know, salacious or just stimil like that.
You know, they were playing the Microsoft I used to
work for Microsoft. I got ever even single Microsoft Game,
Kid game, whatever, and they were you know, maybe this

(20:27):
is really before YouTube. When they were kids, they weren't
even watching videos, but they were just playing ticktac toe
or whatever it is. But we could watch them. So
my advice is, don't do that. But when it comes
I didn't have to worry about the phones. They were old,
when phones became mainstream, became affordable, they were easily in
their mid teens, and it was, you know, okay, I
didn't track them, I didn't monitor them. I and that's

(20:48):
I just didn't do that. But times they're different. And
I saw an article in the Wall Street Journal this
past week and headline was paying kids to stay off
their phones incentive or bribe debate. This debate is actually
dividing parents. If you want to get in, I'm at
three four six two nine eight three nine two six
three four six two nine eight three nine two six.

(21:09):
If you can't get in, the line's busy, voicemail may
pick up. Leave a voicemail. We have the right to
actually air your voice on here, and I'd love to
hear from you. But your parents, for the most part,
they're getting very fed up trying to keep their teens
off phones that a lot of them are bypassing the
usual lectures and the parenthal controls, and they're just offering
cash or cars. Here's here's somebody, Here's here's somebody in Brooklyn,

(21:34):
New York said she made a deal with her two
kids each to get eighteen hundred dollars when they turn
eighteen if they can stay off social media until then.
It's all or nothing, she says, And I think her
kids went for it. What would you do? I mean,

(21:55):
I'm gonna go on and talk about the story. I mean,
here's here's a quote over here. This is from I'm
a founder of Turning Life On. It's a coalition of
parents that says kids should never be bribed to do
something that's good for their health. Kids need to experience
the internal rewards for taking care of themselves. I say this,
and maybe I'm too blunt or whatever. You're the parent,

(22:18):
put your damn foot down. They're under your roof. You
are their lifeline, their lifeblood. You are paying for them.
You're paying for that phone, you're paying for the internet access.
Put your foot down. I don't think that's being a
you know what, a whole you're being a parent. But

(22:40):
as paying kids to forego social media really any different
than paying kids to do chores. There's some companies that
pay employees not to smoke. There's insurers that offer lower
premiums for safe driving. There's incentives everywhere. Is it parenting
one oh one? I mean maybe reward to be Hey,

(23:01):
you do your chores, you keep your room clean all week,
and I'll let you have a friend over. Is that
a bribe? Every family is different. I mean to me,
if you're going to bribe a kid, why don't you
bribe them to Hey, why don't you stay off sugar

(23:22):
for the next two months? Why don't you stay out
of the sun. Why don't you put fifty or one
hundred sunscreen on? Why don't you do your homework? Why
don't you get a job? Oh my god, I'm sounding
like my parents ribe or not? That was I guess
how it used to be when I was the kiddout

(23:45):
a teenager in the eighties and then growing up in
the nineties, that was it. We didn't have to worry
about phones. How about a bike? How about an e bike?
What say you? Three four six who nine text? And
three four six two nine eight three nine two six.

(24:05):
There's no right or wrong. As I've long said, it
is a parenting decision. The way I parent or parented
my kids when they were younger is different the way
that you parents your kids. I'm sure did it help
if you did it. I mean, here's something I just

(24:30):
wrote in life is Life is a garf. Life is
a bribery and robbery. Authority figures tell us what to do,
and they threaten us if we don't comply. Parents are
the first authorities, victims of being told what to do
and when to do it and how to do it
or else. Each breakfast, lunch, dinner or else, lay nice
or else, defend yourself or else, go to school or else.

(24:57):
It's it's not a black and white thing. Here's somebody
just said, Hey, Michael, it's a great idea. When that
many tech people follow These elites send their children to
schools that forbid the use of technology. They know the
harmful effects of social media and the devices through which
social media are excessed, but they also know that they
have investors and boards of directors to keep happy, so

(25:18):
they sell the position and they feed it to the kids.
I'm not looking for a No one is a perfect parent.
Here's one. Hey, Michael, how about this one? This is simple.
You can have a phone if you pay for it,
nuff said. Okay, Andrew, don't disagree with that. It's a

(25:39):
worse of vision sell phones or social media. Dude, I
can do two hours on that social media. You're not gonna,
I mean, you're gonna like this for me. I'm the
guy who supposed to pimp and promote technology, which I do.
Social media is the devil. It's not good. Social media
is look at me. I say it once again, people

(26:01):
all the time. If you follow me on social media, listen, gosh, Michael,
you get to do everything. You drive a new car
every week, you get to eat this food. You go
to a restaurant opening. Where haven't you been. You've been
to New York, You've been to Chicago, you've been to Boston,
You've got to Dallas. You go to do something like that.
And I say, quite simply, do not believe everything you
see on social media. You rarely see the bad things

(26:22):
on social media. It's a look at me, look at me,
look at me thing. Yes, I get FOMO two. I
use it differently than other people use it. I use
it because I am this public persona. Because I have
this TV and I have a radio show, and I
have all this stuff. I want people to know that
what I'm testing. I want people to tell me their advice.
Hey man, I don't know what you're talking about. That

(26:42):
that android was bad. It sucked. That's what I use
it for. Some people use it. Oh no, if this
person just got tickets to the US opening up, you know,
up in New York. Oh man, Mom, dad next to you.
We gotta go now. I need some honey deuces. I
gotta go up there, open phone lines. I gotta take
a break right now. I'll say it again. Interesting article
paying kids to stay off their phones? Is it an

(27:04):
incentive or is it a bribe? A lifelong question that
maybe I'm gonna have to step over that hill again
when I get grandkids, if I ever get grandkids, Mister Garfield,
Michael Garfield. One more segment at this hour three four
six twenty nine texting. It is called the High Tech
Text and.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Shit autom Hour number one.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I'm I'm gonna give something away because you've just been
so nice. I mean, you brought it. You bring us
in some emails you're participating in the show, you're calling,
asking questions. It is time for me to reward you
at least one lucky listener with a little something something
because all there's so many companies. They just love radio
because it's all about giveaways. If you're hungry right now,

(28:10):
wherever you are, Cabo Bob's has a little twenty five
dollars gift card for you. We love Cabo Bob's. Austin based,
four in Houston, one in San Antonio. Dallas sucks for you.
You better get down to Austin or Houston to try
it too. I am there easily two times a week.
I went there, saw Arnold and Lori Rios. They are
the regional managers marketing people. They are so cool. They

(28:30):
love listening to my show, but they love the traffic
that continues to come in. They've been in the market
in Houston, what about two years right now, two and
a half years. They've been in Austin a lot longer
than that. It's always a big stop either before the
after YouTube football games. You go in, you tell them
what you want in a burrito, make your own case adilla.
They take the meat, the chicken, the beef, the barbecue.

(28:53):
The brisket. They cook it on a commata joe. That's right,
kind of like they smoke that flavor. You could pick
one five tortillas, and they've got the best chips. Do
not ever host a football watching party or any party
without getting chips from Cabo Bobo's. And you Cabo Bob's,
and you will thank me, you will thank me later.
Tenth collar right now, you get twenty five bones, twenty

(29:14):
five dollars if you are the tenth collar at seven
to one to three two one two five nine five. Oh,
go Collum, watch for it. Seven one three two one
two five nine five Oh, twenty five dollars at Cabo Bob's.
And uh, it's it's it's so dang good. By the way,
they're not open on Sundays. Not open on Sunday. They
give those employees rest and they take they do take

(29:36):
care of the employees. I actually I know the ownership
and there they're a great stop. We have a winner.
If you're not on the phone right now, it sucks
for you. You're gonna have to go purchase which is
not that not that expensive, by the way, and you
get three tacos, you get a massive brido that I
don't know how they roll it up. You're welcome, So
thank you, Cabo Bobs for your partnership. Michael Garfield seven

(29:57):
to one to three. Actually no, no, I'm not giving that number.
It's a three four six twenty nine Texan football season's in.
Told you last week how much it would cost you
to watch an entire NFL season, because the NFL now
is fragmenting itself to eight or nine different ways to watch. Yes,
there's over the year for free. But oh, by the way,
Thursday nights are Amazon. Oh by the way, Sunday nights well, actually,

(30:18):
Monday nights are on ESPN. They're also on ABC two.
We've got the holiday games on Netflix. They're all over
the place, right, But if in not only that, if
your team, if you're if you're not a Cowboy fan,
if you're not a Texans fan. And I say that
because I know kind of where this show has aired, terresty.

(30:39):
If you're a fan and your team is not shown
regularly each Sunday or Monday night or Thursday, what do
you do? Well, I guess you can purchase the NFL
Sunday ticket. Anybody know how the much this is two
hundred seventy six dollars for a new Sunday Ticket plan.

(31:02):
I think it's on the minimum side. I got a
secret for you. There's a way to watch NFL Sunday
Ticket games without a subscription. Okay, put your ear, turn
up the radio right now, okay. Is I love watching
live sports and I was considering YouTube TV the Sunday
Ticket and option to stream football. But it's pricey. Yes,

(31:24):
you could play for installments. You can get it, I
think as a perk if you have Horizon. Maybe if
you have a student discount, but still you're shelling out money.
There's a way to watch Sunday Ticket without spending any
money on subscription. But there's a catch. First down catch
to the forty two. You have to leave the house.
Hear me out. There's a new app from direct TV,

(31:48):
but it's called sports bar Finder. Go look at it
in your app store sports bar Finder, and it helps
you locate bars and restaurants around the country that offer
fifteen TV sports package is including the NFL Sunday Ticket.
It operates by using your location. You can put in
a zip code go to the web also, so go

(32:11):
to a sports Barfinder. They're just gonna prompt you to
type in You'll be prompted to type in a bar name,
share your location, enter a zip code, and the list
is going to populate with nearby area restaurants and bars,
giving the option to filter the results by your sports package.
At that point, listen, you can look at the red
Zone channel, SEC network Thursday Night Football, but you want

(32:33):
to look for NFL Sunday ticket, all right, and then
you could choose from the main list of bars. You
can favorite it, put a hard icon there you go.
I mean, do you listen what I wouldn't lie in?
There's a freeway to watch it, but sometimes you don't know.
The worst is if you go to a sports bar

(32:55):
hoping that your game is going to be on and
it's not on. Excuse me, waitress, there's forty TVs. Forty
freaking TVs. You can't take one of these TVs and
put it on, you know, my long Horn game, and
then we don't have that package like that. This happened
to me. I was in was I guess it had
to be Berlin. I'm in Berlin last year for something,

(33:16):
and it was the first week of college football. Longhorns
were playing Michigan obviously I couldn't go to the game
because I was in Berlin. I am not kidding you.
NFL is big in Berlin. College football in the United States,
they really don't know much about it in Berlin, in
a lot of foreign countries. I finally locate a bar.
I have to get on the Berlin subway. I go

(33:37):
across town. I'm by myself across town and it's early
in the morning because it was an early kickoff game. No, no,
I'm sorry, it was late after That's how it worked.
It was late afternoon because an early morning game, and
I needed to go, so I can only watch like
an hour and a half, two hours of this thing.
I finally found this really nice bartender and barkeep whatever,
and they had like all these TVs thing and they're

(33:58):
watching freaking s Premier League soccer and all this other
crap that no one cares them in America about. Noop,
sorry about that, uh I? And I tell him I'm
like ESPN. No, I actually was on Fox at Fox
TV University of Texas. They've got these orange jerseys. I mean,
it took them ten minutes to find the thing, but
I found it. I mean, you talk about a pain
and that you know what. And then I figured out, oh,

(34:20):
by the way, you know what I forgot. I can
actually watch it on my phone because I have a
VPN either here or there. It's called the sports Bar
Finder and it is that time of the year people
where you watch sports wherever you go. And by the way,
if you do have the last week for the first time,
I've never had the Sunday ticket. A buddy of mine,
he came over and he put the Sunday ticket on
my on my TV and I think, I think with

(34:41):
the Red Zone channel, you know, I apologize, ready, dude,
that is like ADHD built for eighty hd ors like
me on steroids. Oh my god, and you're watching here.
You're flipping here, You're flipping here.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Oh it's fun.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
It's fun. I usually just sit there, you know, like
an idiot watch one game at the time. They flipped
a good game, but you're like here you go. By
the way, Houston, the Houston Texans played Monday night football
the early and there's two Monday night games on this
coming Monday, Houston Texans kickoff six pm. It should be
over the air on I guess seeing ABC because it's

(35:15):
in the local market. And there you go Dentent, Dent Cowboys,
twelve o'clock Sunday. If you hear my name is Michael
one power down, hang in there and have some fun.

one of the owners, to get out of the store
for an hour to sit down and have lunch was
a miracle. And I am not kidding you. When I

They're like, you're kidding me. He's going to lunch. Yeah,

Speaker 3 (44:52):
BACK i promised a promise to you that that is my.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
Name this is called The High Tech Texting. Show we
need to thank you for. Listening however you're doing. It
if you're old school terrestrial Radio HOUSTON kprc nine fifty,
Am Dallas Talk radio eleven NINETY Am San Antonio News
radio twelve one HUNDRED, woai maybe you're on the iHeartRadio app.

(45:34):
Jay maybe you're listening online to iHeart dot. Com you know,
what LISTEN i get sick of me. TOO i, Mean
i'm found, everywhere but then, again so is everybody else
on the. Radio radio is different from the. Podcast but
we actually do take this two hours of radio and
then we put it on our podcast On. iHeartRadio so
what do?

Speaker 5 (45:53):
You what do?

Speaker 1 (45:54):
You what are you gonna? Do that is? That that's
What i'm here. FOR i did promise to tell you
about somebody wrote in about how to get better cell
reception on your. Phone we sadly we live and die
and breathe by our cell, phones which is why last
hour we talked about parents are now bribing kids to

(46:15):
stay off their cell. Phones is that a good thing
or bad? Thing but we're not going to talk about right.
Now BUT i need to give YOU i do the
best about twice a. YEAR i need to give you
an ultimate guide to boosting your cell phone signal because
if you're struggling with bad, receptions maybe WHAT i can
help you is try to get a few more bars.
Fast All, right we're gonna be out and about this fall.

(46:35):
Season you could be looking at the foliage you want
to be out in the crisp. Air maybe you'd go
to a football game and there's one hundred thousand other
people around you using those same cell phone. Towers but
if you lose your phone, signal, man what are you gonna?
Do you can't upload anything To facebook to show people
that you're actually at the football, game are actually having
some apples and pumpkinsider at a pumpkin, pass you know?
What and that's really because if you didn't put it
on the. Gram it didn't. Happen you know how we

(46:57):
do it. Well you actually don't need a new, phone
and you don't need a new expensive cell phone. Plan
to combat this un unreliable. Reception you can make a
little adjustment and you can simply boost your signal while
you're moving. Around simple things like changing your network, settings
finding a better spot for your phone in the. Car

(47:17):
maybe you could just toggle the airplane, mode because things
like that can make a big. Difference doesn't matter if
you have an, iPhone doesn't matter if you're An. Android
you can get, stronger more reliable signal without any fancy.
Upgrades all, right these may, Work these may not, work
depends on your. MILEAGE i can't promise anything but to
improve your cell phone service first try. These move. Yourself

(47:42):
move get up so there's no obstructions between your phone
and any cell phone towers, outside and that might mean stepping.
Outside get away from metal, Object get away from concrete.
Walls those kill. Reception go near a. Window another thing to.
Do remove your cell phone. Case doesn't. Hurt to remove

(48:03):
whatever case you have on your, phone and especially if it's,
thick because it's blocking the phone. Antenna you'd get a better.
Signal that, way make sure your phone is. Charged searching
for connecting to a stronger signal drains, power so if
your battery is already low on a, charge you may

(48:23):
have a little difficult time getting good. Service here's WHAT
i kind of teased about, it and this actually does
work for. Me do you turn your airplane mode on
when you're actually on an airplane and when you, land
do you turn it? Off and all of a sudden
you start hearing all your beppet by your tech coming and.
Everything turn your phone's connection off and then back. On believe,

(48:44):
me it's the quickest and easiest way to try and
fix your signal. Problems and if you're moving around from
one location into another toggling airplane, mode it restarts The Wi,
fi it restarts the blue toothe and it restarts the
cellular network, modems which forces them to find the best
signal in the. Area that's a biggie and it's so.

(49:05):
Simple hit the little iPhone the little airplane icon up,
Top so swipe down from the top of your, screen
go to the quick settings, panel tap the airplane mode,
icon and then you wait for. It, now sometimes the
airplane mode takes ten seconds or so to. Disconnect then
tap on the airplane mode again and it comes. Out,

(49:29):
now if that doesn't, work we're gonna dig deeper. Here
if airplane mode doesn't, work restart your, phone Because i'm
gonna tell you. Something our phones are nothing but miniature,
computers and just like, computers sometimes you can fix issues
like network connection by simply restarting. Them so hold down

(49:51):
the power, key hold down the power, button tap. Restart you've.
Done now have a restart, option just that power off
to shut it down and then turn it back. On
but thirty seconds or. So, now if you really want
to get, cocky you could do a forced. Reset if

(50:13):
you have an, iPhone you press the volume up button
followed by the volume down, button and then press and
hold the side, button and then keep holding. It then
your phone will go black until you see the oppug
and that resets. It sometimes resetting really does. Wonders sometimes
it's been months Since i've done, It but sometimes things
just get clogged and bogged. In do it just a

(50:34):
certainly a turn your phone on and off or off and,
on do a little. Reset it's not bad if you're
really in. Trouble if you have an older, phone take
YOUR sim card. Out it may help to remove THAT
SIM si in that little tiny card that's about the
size of your pinky fingernail if your phone has. One

(50:55):
more and more phones nowadays they have an E sim,
card but older phones they have a LITTLE Sim that's the.
Thing when you get a new phone and it comes
with that little metal paper clip looking thing that you
don't know what it. Is look on your phone right,
now as long as you're not. Driving if you have
an older, phone at least over a year, old you're
gonna probably see a little tiny hole that a paper

(51:17):
clip type of thing fits, in and you can pop
it out and be careful because you do not want
to lose that little car that pops. Out it's an
embedded ELECTRONIC sim. Card take it, out remove, it blow on,
it blow the dust, off see if it's, damage see
if it's positioned in THE sim tray, correctly and then

(51:38):
carefully don't scratch. It put it back in your. Phone
you have one of those NEW e. Sims AS i,
said there's nothing to, remove the best thing you can
do is just restart your. Phone you can also check
your carrier settings because mobile carriers frequently send out carriers
setting updates to help improve connectivity for calls and data

(52:00):
messages on their. Network carrier updates honestly should just appear
and you can update them from pop up. Messages to.
Appear you can go to your, settings your general or
your network And internet and a little tap the gear
and just look for carrier settings, version and you may
just want to make sure it's up to. Date and

(52:21):
if you really get, cocky you can reset your phone's.
Network i'm not big into, this but search for reset
or more specifically the reset network settings and tap on
the setting and that'll reset the entire network and h,
me you're not gonna lose. Connectity, CONNECTIVITY i could mention
BECAUSE i get this once in a. While you could

(52:41):
try a signal booster to improve your cell. Reception if
you've gone through everything THAT i just, said which now
took now seven, minutes and you're still try struggling to
find a good, signal you could try a signal. Booster
and what it does it receives the same cellular signals
that your carrier, does but it amplifies them just enough
to provide cover in your room or entire. House they're not.

(53:02):
Cheap there is the. Cost there are three hundred and
fifty four hundred dollars to one thousand dollars some if
you want to cover your. Home And i'm gonna be
honest with, YOU i have tried cell phone booster for.
YEARS i have not found one that really really works.
WELL i could give you the standard WHAT i did
WHEN i started, radio AND i try to be cute
and cocky twenty years, Ago Michael, MAN i just can't

(53:25):
get cell phone service in my. HOUSE i go, UPSTAIRS
i go. DOWNSTAIRS i, SAID i got the. Answer listen,
carefully put your ear up to the. Radio here's the. Solution.

Speaker 5 (53:36):
Move they didn't like.

Speaker 1 (53:40):
That they didn't like. That but there's things to going
to and. Listen worst case where worst case, scenario go
to your phone carrier walk. In sometimes unexpected signal issues
can be traced back to problems with your wireless. CARRIER
a cell phone tower could be down, tower fiber optic
cable could have been, cut causing an. Outage newfound signals
can be due to de defect with your. Phone walk.

(54:01):
In have your cell phone carrier look at this. Thing
you're paying enough for, it dang. It make sure it
WORKS i just been nine nine solid minutes helping you
fix your phone, signal which means you can call me
and say, hi ask me a, question tell me what's?
Up three four six two nine eight three nine two.
Six Michael garca is the name that's how we do.

(54:22):
It thirty more minutes ago stand by you call the
show the high tech text and. SHOW i called myself

(54:44):
actually my parents. Name you, Know i'll hang in there
with it after all these. Years Michael garfield is the
NAME i came up with the high tech textan. Monitor
my big boss is, Here Brian, erickson thank you so,
Much Eddie, Martine Paul, Lambert Mark. Sherman these are names
that you probably don't care. ABOUT i don't see them a.
Lot they are The iHeart radio, infrastructure the, brains the

(55:09):
very wonderful talented people who have kept me on the
air and continue to grow this show for me for
well over twenty, years be it In, Houston, Dallas San,
antonio or The iHeartRadio. App but we continue to do. So.
Folks we're an hour and a half into the show this,
week the second weekend Of, september And i've done a

(55:31):
good job of not mentioning a new product that was
an announced this. Week alas you do sometimes want some
news of what is happening when it comes to new,
product something that you may, use may not. Use you
know my feelings when it comes to the, iPhone which
is one of the reasons WHY i just haven't even mentioned,
it BUT i made it an hour and a half

(55:52):
before the two hour. SHOW i GUESS i will talk
a little about a big announcement that was made earlier
this week atest, iPhone The apple iPhone. Seventeen it was
Announced tuesday to a sort of a, fanfare not so
much with a live presentation Like Steve jobs was known,

(56:14):
for where all of these people and journalists would go
up To, Coopertino. California Steve jobs would get up there
live in front of a stage and he would talk, About,
oh here's a new, computer here's a New, mac and
here maybe here's a new, watch and here's a new operating.
System and at the very end he would wait and
he would, say and one more. Thing then the crowd

(56:37):
would lose there you know, what and he would talk
about the latest iteration of the. iPhone then it went
to iPhone, two then, three then, four then Unfortunately Steve.
Jobs he passed. Away Tim cook now runs the company
and he doesn't do anything live much. Anymore the event
this Past, tuesday there were still people other than me

(56:57):
who were up In, caupertino and they sat in an
auditorium and they watch videos because a lot of the
presentation was, taped and then they open the doors and
then you can actually touch and hold the iPhone for
about ten minutes before they kick you. Out they'll go
on sale next. Week but what's the. Word, WELL i
do have a lot of ilk in this, industry other

(57:20):
people who do cover. It i've read a lot of.
Stuff i've talked to, them texted back and, forth and,
overall here are my. Thoughts the latest iPhone looks like
it would skim across a pond really. Nicely one of
them is very. Thin apple introduce The iPhone. Air it's

(57:42):
slimmest iPhone, ever set to release later this, year along
The iPhone, seventeen the Seventeen, pro the Seventeen Pro. Max
those are the four new. iPhones, now when you're referring
to The iPhone, air do not call it The iPhone Seventeen.
Air that is not what it's. Called i'm A Semantic,

(58:03):
guy the iPhone, seventeen the iPhone Seventeen, pro the iPhone
Seventeen Pro. Max those are coming out along with The iPhone.
Air interesting how they did not put a number on
it because it is a new line of their slim.
Phone they also announced that they're an Upgraded AirPods pro
three and a new series of, watches The series. Eleven

(58:30):
The iPhone air from WHAT i understand from What i'm
looking at When i'm, deciphering is the let's call it
The MacBook air of. iPhones and It's apple's first major
iPhone redesign in, many many. Years relatively. Thin it is
five point six millimeters thin or actually thick if you're

(58:53):
not counting its raised rear camera and the new iPhone.
Air it's about a third thinner than last years iPhone Sixteen.
Pro AND i want you to think about, This, hey
thin is in? Then is? Cool look at? This sometimes
it's so. Thin she's, Like, Oh i'm gonna drop. It
it's gonna. BREAK i, mean, yes there's some claims over,
there but what do you get when you get a thin?
Phone and what do you take away when you have

(59:13):
a thin? Phone if you have a thin, phone it
means battery life compromising battery life because the battery is
not as. Big apple claims the battery is gonna last all,
day but that's likely going to take a. Hit the
air's battery capacity allegedly is going to be lower than
last year's. iPhones this is recording to reports that were

(59:36):
based on Leaked chinese regulatory. Filings right, now it's processing,
power it tops the entry level iPhone, seventeen but it
comes up a bit short against the other, two the
Seventeen pro and the Seventeen Pro. Max so it's kind
of slotted in in terms of power at the two slot.

(01:00:01):
Right and then there's a camera. System you look on
the back and there's one. Lens apple's going to tell
you that it one lens is just as powerful than four.
Lenses do not believe. THAT bs do not believe. IT
i am a. REALIST i look at something AND i
tell you what it. IS i have a phone right.

(01:00:23):
NOW i have literally five lenses on, It. Sinco that's
more than any iPhones ever. Have it's also got a
flash on there. TOO i don't care what the software
does to make five lenses the same as. Ten with the,
SOFTWARE i don't like What apple is doing, saying, oh
this one lens is going to be the same as

(01:00:44):
four lenses based in the. Software that's A bs marketing.
Ploy in my, opinion it's got one freaking lens and
it's not a true telephoto. Lens if you are a
photographer and you like, photos you're gonna think this iPhone.
Seven let me back that. Up you're gonna think this
iPhone air is gonna be the greatest thing. Ever so, cute.

(01:01:08):
Man i'll tell you. What you might as well take
a pin and paper and draw a photo instead of
taking a. Photo the air starts at one thousand. Dollars
it's about two hundred dollars more than the standard iPhone,
seventeen about one hundred less than the iPhone seventeen. PRO
a lot of people worried what were tariffs going to

(01:01:29):
do to the price? Pricing it seems for these four
aligns with recent, years despite the fact that there are
fears of the related. Hikes But i'll tell you this,
anecdotally And i'm taking my thoughts out of here That
i'm not an iPhone, guy but expectations do not seem that.

(01:01:50):
High there's a lot of people that noted That apple
users tend to care most about battery life and camera,
quality and the iPhone air relatively coffly at a thousand
bones without having either of those features just doesn't sit. Right,

(01:02:10):
listen in, fairness this could be a very first. Step
go back and think Of apple's Original MacBook air kind
of underwhelming because it was priced between the better Performing
MacBook and The MacBook, pro but it had. Tweaks it

(01:02:31):
later Became apple's best selling. Computer it does not have a,
fold it does not have a. Flip there's a lot of,
buzz and that's what rumor, is and that's What apple
is all. About rumor and. Buzz that next year's model
in twenty twenty, six, Finally apple will be the last
of all the major phone manufacturers to have a foldable,

(01:02:56):
phone if not a flip. Phone that's. Right apple continues
to play play. Out they just keep playing behind the.
Crowd so next year around this, time maybe we can
expect a flip or a. Fold just like everything From
Google one, Plus Samsung, motorola it goes on and on or.

(01:03:18):
Not one of the things to me that was missing
in the big announcement of a phone are the two
biggest key buzzwords that we've heard for the past two
to three years in technology artificial, intelligence aside from the
new AirPods that can translate other languages in real, time artificial.
Intelligence apple really didn't HIGHLIGHT ai during its presentation this past,

(01:03:42):
week certainly not on the. Phone apple's really failed to
deliver in Aified siri because that was delayed until next.
Year so you take whatever you. Read there's no yet
they're on. SALE i think you could pre order them
now the announcements With, tuesday you could pre order them Yesterday.

(01:04:05):
FRIDAY i think they do come out On september. Nineteenth
good for, You but to me another every year we've
got to come out with a new. Phone every manufacturer
has got to come out with a new. Phone nothing
in the past ten, years other than the fold or

(01:04:28):
flippable phones which have been out about eight or nine
or ten years from other. Manufacturers nothing is out. There
it is a chocolate bar sized. Phone, yes some of
them are thinner that has apps that can make a,
Call but then, again what else is there to put on? There, yes,
software new, APPS, ai but in terms of, hardware it's

(01:04:50):
really tough to add things. On we shall see if
you have a New, apple if you're going to get
to a new one next week when you have, IT
i want you to be one of the first people
who call me SO i could see how you. SOUND
i can hear how you sound on your new expensive
iPhone SEVENTEEN i phoned Seventeen, pro iPhone, Seventeen Pro max
and iPhone air fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):

(01:06:35):
What's michael driving this? Week and one of the things
THAT i do in this, Show, YES i talk about
phones and new gadgets and batteries and backups and televisions
and how to WATCH tv and how to save. MONEY
i review, cars trucks and what have. You i've long
been a member of The Texas Auto Writers association fifteen,

(01:06:55):
years AND i do know the. MANUFACTURERS i don't deal
with dealerships, directly with The tier one folks mostly out Of, Detroit.
Michigan you Had nissans based In, tennessee but to wherever
they are based on a weekly, BASIS i get to
drive a, CAR i have it for one. Week there's
a nice third party service who rolls up to my
house Every. Thursday they give me the, keys a full

(01:07:16):
tank of gas and they, Say, garf go for. It
you can rag on, it you can love, it do
whatever you. Want this is non. Paid these are my.
Thoughts AND i go through everything from SUVs to, evs
to two seater sports, cars to have, minivans to, trucks
to pick, ups quarter, tons half, tons mid size. TRUCKS
i go through it. ALL i have done and ridden

(01:07:37):
and driven in over one thousand plus vehicles in the
past fifteen, years AND i will talk about it this.
WEEK i am in a really so, Far i've only
had it like two. DAYS i am in a brand
new you ready for This NISSAN Z that is a sexy.
Car it's a high performance tutor sports. Car And i'll

(01:08:01):
tell you what it's. Small it's. Fast three leader twin
turbo v six. In she's about four hundred. Horsepower it's
got THIS d mode drive where you can swip, it
switch it into sport, mode sport plus. Mode it's relatively.
Small i'm a six foot tall. GUY i do fit in.
There every TIME i get out of the, Car you're

(01:08:21):
gonna hear a little, y a little, grunt BECAUSE i
gotta crawl out of. There but it's a head. Turner
i've got a bright RED i love the back end of.
It it looks really. Nice next week And i'm gonna
have a much more full review of these. Things but,
overall it is a it's a, fun quick meat. Car
right starts around forty three thousand. Dollars if you want

(01:08:43):
That NISSAN Z sport A performance about ten thousand dollars.
More and if you want that really really high End
nismo and that's the racing version of The NISSAN, Z
i don't have that. One that's about sixty five thousand.
Dollars but it's one of these performance cars that are
actually very. Good it depends what type of mode or
lifestyle that you're. In do you want the midlife crisis

(01:09:05):
or your kids out of? School maybe you don't have.
Kids maybe you're just a rich little buck and you
just want to drive something when you're twenty, five twenty
six years old and look. Saucy NISSAN. Z you, know
it harkens back to my very very first vehicle THAT
i ever bought. Myself AND i haven't bought a lot
of cars in my. LIFETIME i personally for myself may
have bought four. Cars may, have but the first ONE

(01:09:28):
i got was The nissan two FORTY sx bright red
and this WAS i, mean that was one of the
first iterations of This NISSAN z because it continues to.
Go but that was a, very very fun sports CAR
i had back WHEN i was in my twenties AND
i wasn't even married AND i didn't have. Kids and you,
know now that life has passed. Me now the kids are,
Grown i'm not, married and you, know let's look at

(01:09:50):
another hot red sports. Car this could be, something but
that WAS i like it so. FAR i do want
to end up on this because the time is, ticking
and every WEEK i talk about. This by the end Of,
SEPTEMBER i also talk about EV's electric, vehicles and the
date is getting Near september thirtieth of this, month we've
got two weeks or. So that's the impending AND i

(01:10:12):
say impending because you never know what's going on With.
Trump it's the impending expiration of up to seventy five
hundred dollars in federal incentives FOR ev buyers and the. Leases,
okay that has led to AN ev buying binge right
now and it's pretty much created A, hey it's, now
we're never. Decisioned for a lot Of, americans there are

(01:10:35):
a lot who are still in them not yet. Camp
there's people who are looking and, saying you know, WHAT
i don't like the way they charges the battery. Infrastructure
i'm not going to do. It but what do you?
Do but right, now the case for buying AN ev
has never been, stronger maybe for about half OF us.
Households and so how do you? Decide so in about two,

(01:10:58):
minutes let me see IF i can guide you through. It,
affordability new evs that sertify the needs of a lot of.
Drivers they can be had for under forty thousand, dollars
and that's not counting the soon to be gone tax.
Credit so a lot of you, know From american car,
makers because a lot of are native Of. America there's

(01:11:19):
more options Than, tesla good entry level options FROM gm
And ford And kia And. Hyundai they're, here all. Right
they charge, quickly they have ranges around three hundred, miles
good bills and whistles and. Whatever entry level evs could
be equivalent to gas vehicles in many small. Ways all,
right look at your lifestyle through an exers mental. LUCK

(01:11:42):
i gauge whether AN ev might make sense in your.
Life how do you actually use your? Car all? RIGHT
i have range. Anxiety that's a reason SOMETIMES i do
drive over two hundred and fifty three hundred miles at
least back and, Forth houston To, Austin houston To. DALLAS
i really don't want to stop somewhere and wait thirty
five five an hour and a. HALF i don't want

(01:12:02):
to do. That if you drive a, lot you're gonna
want to fast charge your at. Home if your garage
doesn't already have a two hundred and forty volt you
know socket required for, that just put it in. There
call an electrician CAVEATS ev versus gas. Complication it's money
AND ev potentially can save you fifty percent on fuel

(01:12:23):
and maintenance when you're looking at other, vehicles all, Right
and also depends where you. LIVE i have a friend In,
california where many many cars are percentage wise are very
high for electric. Vehicles electricity In california is cheaper Than.
Texas hear me. Out gas In texas is cheaper Than.

(01:12:46):
California where do you live do you plan to move right?
Now the price of a my son lives In, Sunthern.
California the price of an average gallon of the gas
lanes four and a half five and a half dollars
or so here what we got two dollars seventy five
cents three dollars for a gas electricity charging your electric
car here In texas is relatively more expensive Than. California

(01:13:11):
those are. Factors the average selling price of a new
vehicle in THE us right, now it's approaching forty nine
thousand dollars a new. Vehicle compare that to MANY ev
models that are under forty thousand. Dollars so that sounds affordable.
Too so due by, now due to buy in a few,
years something tells me this seventy five hundred dollars tax,

(01:13:32):
CREDIT i will not be. Surprised On september twenty, ninth
Of september, thirtieth we hear from a certain person In, WASHINGTON, dc,
going you know, What we're gonna kind of push this deadline.
Out it's kind of been the mo right if for
some reason it does. Take maybe it's been chewing the
next administration when another, president when another leadership of government
comes in and, says you know, what now the. Battery

(01:13:53):
now the infrastructure has, changed it's. Better we're gonna give tax.
Credit but as right now as we do this, show
we have two weeks to. Go could be the time
for you to get An.

Speaker 5 (01:14:03):
Indeed those are my overall thoughts AND i can.

Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Thank you for listening to that. Again another TOPIC i
love talking to you, about which we can do next
week speakinning of next. Week we're signing off right. Now
if you want to follow, ALONG i do appreciate you
finding me high tech text AT hi G H T
P c T X A. M thanks again To callum To.
Will everybody's been a part of a show wherever you
are listening, terrestrially cot the state Of texas and around the.

(01:14:27):
World AND i power pay will have a very good
week In stay cool because it's still. Hot my. Friends
