It is almost pre pre pre Black Friday episode of
the High Tech Text and show Listen. I spend a
twenty plus years on the radio TV just answering emails,
answering your questions about consumer products. Michael, what's the best phone,
(01:11):
what's the best TV? What's the best car, what's the
best bourbon? I can go on and on and on.
This is your chance, the final chance before the official
Black Friday coming up this coming week, to get your calls,
get your emails in as we begin the twenty second,
twenty third edition of the annual What's Garf one of
YAP about to recommend on the Black Friday this year,
(01:34):
the twenty twenty five version. Hey listen, we've got some
open phone lines. You know how to well, I'll tell
you how to email me, tell you how to post
and get to me on social media. But some of
the things we are yapping about today, of course, is
how can AI help, I guess, narrow down some of
your chop shopping choices. And I like talking about this
because that's what I have been doing. That's what I
(01:56):
have been doing for almost a quarter of a century.
I have been helping you near a on your Black Friday,
your holiday shopping guys. But yes, Amazon even has an
a I agent to help you do that. I will
tell you how to get to that. Why is game
Stop back in the news and they're going to be
prevalent here in upcoming the first week of December. It's
(02:17):
very interesting and I actually kind of like this, especially
if you have a lot of crap hanging around your house.
I will tell you why. Game Stop is actually semi
relevanta in And it's also that time of year for
the annual exchange of White Elephant gifts, and each year
I kind of put together as some of the better,
(02:38):
if not the best white Elephant holiday gifts. I've got
that and so much more so. If you want to
get in, I will tell you how to get a
hold of me. It is three four six twenty nine
Texan three four six two nine eight three nine two six.
If you want to email me, let's go with the
(02:59):
old Michael Garfield Atiheartmedia dot Com. I will see if
we can answer these. If you're listening plausibly live where
some of our other radio stations around the state of Texas.
What's up Houston KPRC nine fifty AM, twelve hundred WOAI
that is in San Antonio, In Dallas Big D Talk
(03:19):
Radio eleven ninety. Should you be listening other ways, well,
you can hear us on the iHeartRadio app. All you
need to do is just download that app and you

If not the world. Michael is my name, we have
got Callum. We've got Will here on the other side
of that radioglass and they can push you through to me.
(03:40):
Let's start with this though. What is Black Friday. It's
a made up holiday, right and if you don't know
the history of it, Black Friday is coming up. It
is on Friday, November twenty eighth of this year. Black
Friday always falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving? Is the
is it? They say? It's the official start to the
(04:01):
holiday shopping season. We must have deals in incredible savings. Nowadays,
Black Friday isn't like when in I remember it starting,
I guess really becoming this mass big thing probably about
twenty years ago. When I was, you know, starting out
on the radio. Black Friday online shopping on Black Friday
(04:21):
wasn't really a big thing. Black Friday was all of
these stores, physical stores would open early six in the morning.
People would line up to get in because they would
have these Black Friday loss leaders. And this simultaneously is
when high definition TVs were relatively expensive, but the first
(04:46):
ten people through the Best Buy, Doors, Target, Walmart, you
would get some incredible deal on a high definition TV.
And people, I'm not kidding you. People would finish their
thing thanks Giving meals on Thursday, and they would go
to bed early, and then they would wake up at
three or four in the morning and they would sit
(05:06):
out there sometimes in the bone chilling coldness in Texas,
you know whatever, and they would want to be one
of the first few people to get in through these
Black Friday deal doors and they less. Yes, there were
more deals than high definition TVs, but they were. There
was Xbox PlayStation, there was I remember Microsoft Windows was
the thing, you know, because you physically had to go
buy the CD rom and actually, you know, the light
(05:28):
up and you're hearing these stories right now. If you
remember this, you're nodding your head. I remember that you do.
You don't need to do this anymore because Black Friday
now really has started. It starts in October. And the
Black Friday deals and some of the which I've been
perusing and I'm going to talk about a lot of
these today. They're happening right now you physically, and actually
don't have to wait till Friday, November twenty eighth, because
(05:50):
they're already start. Yes, they are going to be some
new ones coming every single day, starting now, all the
way probably through the first the last few days before
Christmas starts. But Black Friday sales have evolved into a
multi week event, starting well before the actual day again
typically mid October. They ramp up significantly in early to
mid November, cultimately you know, culminating in Black Friday itself. Oh,
(06:15):
by the way, and if you miss Black Friday, wait
three days Cyber Monday, which is an absolutely made up holiday.
And I can tell you as we get clippedman next week,
and I'll tell you why, why and how Cyber Monday
was created. There's a ton of Black Friday sales. You
probably already have been shopping, but if you do have
some last minute sales to watch, I am your guy,
(06:38):
talk to me here three four six two nine eight
three nine two six. Some of the top rate retailers
that usually have the most popular Black Friday sales. Amazon.
The Amazon Black Friday Sale already officially confirmed to begin
two days ago. Yep epic sale, massive retail event, deep discounts.
(07:01):
By the end of the year, you can expect deep
discounts on Amazon's own devices like the Echo, Fire, TV
and Kindle, big price drops and electronics, toys, home goods,
and more. Blah blah blah. There's more. Retailers Target Target.
Their official Black Friday Sale officially starts online Thursday, Thanksgiving
and it goes all the way through Tuesday after Cyber Monday.
(07:24):
All right, they're saying fifty percent off key category small
kitchen appliances, electronics, household cleaning, tolls, tools, toys, and so
much more. Walmart their Black Friday event expect to offer
Doorbuster things, four KTVs Apple, other brand electronics. They start online.
They started about a week ago, and then their Black
(07:46):
Friday sale. It goes through Tuesday through Thursday and then Friday.
Actually of Black Friday through that Saturday. Big discounts too. Listen,
we can go on and on wayfair lows Ace Hardware, Samsung, Norstrom, Anthropology,
matt Oh. Then there's mattress sales too. Gosh, I thought
I just thought it was February when it was President's date.
(08:07):
And know there are mattress sales everywhere, tons and tons
of things. So as we take our first break over here,
I'm gonna come back, I'm gonna tell you about how
Amazon and a few other of these AI artificial intelligent
shopping agents can actually help you find gifts. Yes, they
don't have to be tech because I'm here too, there's
gonna be car sales. And also, by the bottom of
the hour, I'm gonna mention game Stop. I saw this
(08:29):
in the news. I'm like, why is game Stop so relevant?
Still relevant? They're offering there's gonna there. There's gonna be
a special game stop day, and I'm gonna tell you
about the one day in early December that they're gonna do.
And I'd actually think it's pretty funny. If you need me,
you want to get me. Michael's name Michael park Baby,
it's called the High Tech Docks and showing people.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Tech text show.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
It isn't to Michael Garfield is the name. You can
buy me online a lot of the TV stuff that
I do, a lot of reviews. This is what we're here.
Black Friday coming up, man final month, big push, and
I'm getting a lot of questions. Busy time of year
for me, Busy time of year for me, obviously if
you're in Austin some out there. I got my Monday
Every Monday, I got a tech segment of you know,
kind of reviewing some things. I think I'm doing this
(09:27):
coming Monday. The best time of year to buy a car,
which it really kind of is a lot of things
you got till December thirty first actually to buy a car.
You know, you know a really good deal. But if
you need anything else, I am here for you at
three four six two nine eight three nine two six.
That is how we do it, the Black Friday stuff.
(09:47):
I have been here for twenty plus years of being
your surrogate, go to guy, Hey, garf, how you doing? Listen?
I see all these high definition t you into TV's
what's the difference between four K? And you know what?
You know? Do I need all this hurts and things?
And you know what's what's going on with that? Well?
Black Friday is not just a single shopping day anymore.
(10:09):
Amazon calls it Black Friday a week which actually runs
for two weeks. It goes on and on on. But
something interesting that Amazon is doing. This is not an
Amazon commercial. I wish it was. I wish they would
advertise with me, but they don't. So this is just
here for as a psa little public service announcement for
you Amazon. And they've had this for a while. They're
going to continue to incorporate. It's AI shopping assistant to
(10:32):
help you narrow it down what are good products to
shop for? It's called rufous. I don't shop on Amazon
a lot, and I don't, so I really haven't seen
or used rufous. Has anybody used rufous? Let me know,
I'd love to hear, but The company says Rufus can
track prices, personalize your recommendations, automatically buy items when they
(10:55):
reach your set target price. Now I can dig that
is it? Kind of like I don't know if it's
there to match it? But all right, So I want
to spend I want to buy a shirt I want
to buy I don't know. I want to buy a
new battery chargers, but I only want to pay this munch.
Apparently Rufous, Amazon's AI shopping assistant, can play a good
(11:18):
role with their shopping experience because you can ask rufous
what's trending, what fits your set budget, or what matches
your buying interests, and it can surface personalized picks based
on your shopping habits, wish lists, browsing patterns and everything.
(11:40):
And they can also help you track prices too. So
if there's an item you're waiting to buy at a
specific discount, this Rufous, who came up with that name,
by the way, can monitor its price and automatically buy
it once it hits that threshold you've set. So that
means you want to have to worry about missing lightning
(12:01):
deals or losing items in your cart, and then shoppers
can also use rufous for product discovery, so apparently it
could be tailored gift suggestions. You could compare products side
by side because it's embedded in the Amazon Shopping experience,
(12:23):
follow up questions and everything. So anybody uses that, let
me know if it actually works. But you really don't
need a spreadsheet and a stopwatch to survive Black Friday.
You just need a little strategy. So listen, I'm gonna
be doing this for the next two or three weeks.
Maybe not for Black Friday. It starts with Black Friday,
goes to Cyber Monday, and it's these shopping tests. Number one.
(12:44):
Plan ahead. Start by making a list. Maybe it's a
short list of items you genuinely want or need. Probably
the easiest way to avoid getting pulled into flashy half
off deals that aren't actually planned purchases. All right, check
all your membership hirks. If you're an Amazon Yes, Prime members,
you receive an extra layer of savings with probably faster
(13:07):
shipping options. And then timing matters too. If you're shopping
across categories, keep an eye on rotating it daily deals
you know, steep discounts, few hours, you know whatever. And
then people forget to do this people, would you set
a budget, Set a budget before shopping, a firm budget,
(13:27):
stick to it. So there's going to be grocery deals, electronics,
home and kitchen appliances. I'm just gonna look at these
categories and I know they're going to be up there.
Fifty books in travel if you have a kindle, I mean,
those things could be discount. It's almost nothing because it's
all electronic fashion, beauty items, Amazon devices. Those are the
(13:52):
things that you should be looking for. And again use
rufous Ai, and again I believe it obviously the only
works for Amazon. Honestly, you know, it's just it's an upsells.
It's an easier thing to do. What are some of
my favorites? What are the things It's maybe easier to
tell you some of the hot categories of products that
(14:14):
I have seen, going back to earlier this year at
the Consumer Electronics Show, in which by the way, I
just registered. I'm going to see ES again for the
twenty second, twenty third year in January. But I have
been planning with some really cool stuff and by you know,
by mid December, in December, I'm gonna come up with
the annual Hey, what is Michael Garfield's high Tech Texan.
What are the favorite products of the year. Listen, there's drones,
(14:36):
there's watches, there's e bikes, there's computers, there's convertible computers.
There's really cool webcams out there. If you're looking for webcams,
I'm a big REO link guy R E O L NK.
They're available at best Buy right now. Easy to install
wireless cams. If you want laptops, good time of year
to look at those things too. Asus as Us the
(14:58):
Vvo book I like because it's convertible, so it converts
into a laptop, flipping around three hundred and sixty degrees
and it becomes a tablet. It's got Microsoft Windows eleven,
which is very important because, as we knew last month
in October, Windows ten has become kind of doa. It's
there's no longer going to be support for Microsoft. That's
(15:19):
why everybody should probably upgrade. Actually you should upgrade to
Microsoft Windows eleven. A SEUs makes a really nice Vivo book.
Those are the things that maybe you know, low hanging
fruit on your list that you're thinking, you know, what
is it? Now it's a good time to actually buy this.
I maybe I don't need a laptop. You know, they
go on sale a few times a year, back to
school type. But I've been really seeing some really you know,
(15:40):
good deals are they? You know? Listen? Is a webcam
a sexy holiday gift? Oh honey, guess what I want? Oh,
you don't want to ring? You want a sweater, you
want a cruise or no, honey, I want a wireless
webcam so I could feel more secure. Don't laugh, man,
If it's a good deal, go out and get the thing.
(16:01):
Maybe it's just a stocking stuffer, you know. Maybe it
could be a white elephant thing. But you know, fact
is i'd trade up fright. Someone gives me a white
elephant deal. That's where you know, you kind of keep
passing it around. It's like, I don't want this, I
know want this. Hey, you give me a webcam? Certainly
a real link one, no doubt, man, I'm not passing
that up, thick. So there's a number of different fun
categories out there that you should be looking. I'm looking
(16:23):
at some emails right over there. I'm going to get
to that also, got best, Yes I am. When we
come back, I will talk about some white elephant gifts,
and I got an email question over here from Arnold.
Arnold wants to know. He goes, Hey, Garf, I saw
you talking earlier this year about projectors. My son wants
a projector. It's a portable one that he could take
outside and actually have football watching parties, but also move
(16:43):
inside for real TV. That actually is a wonderful category.
I am a really high on projectors right now. They're
relatively inexpensive, the pictures are great, built in sound, total wireless,
and you can have watch parties and a number of
other different things that are going on. So that is
going to standby coming up the bottom of the hour,
it is the Michael Varcold High Tech Texting Show. As
(17:23):
we return bottom of the very first of two hours
of what we call the High Tech Textan Show. Oh
don't turn your radio off. We talk about so much
more than technology people we do. Michael is the name
Michael Garfield, originally from Big D now living in Houston,
but now heard in Houston, in Dallas and San Antonio,
(17:44):
Terestoly and on the iHeartRadio network. I am here to
be your consumer lifestyle guy. I'm not a political guy.
I talk sports. I certainly talk you know when it
comes to tech in cars and things that you want
to buy for holiday season, that's where the mid stuff.
Talking about Black Friday, I do have a kind of
a not a trivia question. You ever played the game
(18:07):
where were you when? Where were you when? And I'm
I kind of know the demographic profile of my listeners.
They're a little older than the young'ins of my kids generation.
Obviously I know how old I am, right, and where
was I when this happened? And this happened? But being
(18:28):
from Dallas, I kind of often, not often, but I
do get where were you when JFK was assassinated? And
I say this, it's because this weekend Saturday, sixty two
years ago, where were you when? November twenty second, nineteen
(18:54):
sixty three. For the next three days JFK in my
hometown of Dallas Elm Street School book depository. Then days
later Lee Harvey Oswald murdered. Just tragedies more than an American tragedy.
(19:17):
And I say this is because I know where I was.
I was not born, I was not even a thought.
My parents were just married and I came along a
few years later. And for the it's a it's a
it's a one generation above me. It's my parents generation.
(19:40):
My parents. How were my parents My parents were twenty
ninety four, Yeah they were, they were twenty three. I
think my dad was my mom was what twenty Yeah
it was. It was their generation. What has happened in
our generation? That is seminal I say, my generation. You
know someone who's in his you know, fifties, you know,
(20:01):
early sixties. You know, all the listeners out there right now,
I still remember where were you when the first space
shuttle exploded? It was January twenty eighth of nineteen eighty six.
Off the top of my head, I remember I was
in college. That's a day that, man, you will just
never forget what happened, World Trade Towers. I mean obviously
(20:21):
we're not we're going to talk about you know, nine
to eleven. But to a generation before, as it was,
the JFK, I mean, TV was, you know, relatively in
its infancy, and you know the whole Walter crime Kite thing. Listen.
I went to the school and I o the document
type of things. But growing up in Dallas, it's a
little deeper for me because when you travel in when
(20:46):
you hear the word, oh where are you from? I'm
from Dallas. There's pretty much three things over the past
sixty two years. There are three major things that people
from all over the world, and I have traveled all
over the world. Where you're from, I'm from Dallas. They
think of three things, depending on maybe their age group.
Number one, Oh, you were the city that assassinated the president.
(21:10):
I mean sometimes they weren't it that way. They think
of the assassination. They think of the Dallas Cowboys because
of their international worldwide success, certainly in the seventies and
then the nineties. And they think of the Dallas TV
show in the nineteen eighties because the TV show Dallas Jr.
Worldwide it was big. Those are the three things that
(21:32):
my city of Big d thinks of. Two of them haha,
fun great sports TV. But then there's the JFK man.
And I bring this up because I've been seeing a
lot of every Thanksgiving or so holiday. JFK comes up
sixty two years right now, and believe it or not,
(21:54):
after a little crack research, Thank yous for my team,
the Kennedy assassinates files sixty two years later have still
yet to be released. We can joke about the Epstein files,
which allegedly are going to be released and redacted and whatever.
Look at me going politics over here? Don't you want to?
(22:16):
Don't what are they hiding? Sixty two years later, are
they hiding anything? At least two thousand documents have yet
to be released on JFK the assassination. Despite decades of
political freaking promises, the FEDS coughed up a batch of
(22:38):
records this year didn't tell us much about Oswald fort
Worth resident at the time caa type of thing. I
don't know. I mean, that's it. Listen again, if you
want to call that politics, call it politics. I think
it's history. I think it's American history. I think it's
worldwide history. But where will you win? And if you
want to tell me three four six you can also
(23:00):
hit me Michael Garfield ACT I heartmedia dot com. Is
it too soon to talk about? Is it too soon?
I don't think it's too soon. You know from the
Oliver Stones movie, I mean that came out what twenty
five years ago maybe or something like that. That kind
of brought it back in the limelight again. Spotlight when
(23:21):
we put it that way, not limelight anyway, There you go.
All I want for Christmas is to know actually who,
what really really happened that fateful day in Dallas, November
twenty second, nineteen sixty three. We do continue the high
tech text and show see this is what we talk about. Oh,
I'm gonna listen to this guy's gonna tell me how
to fect my mother board. My computer don't work that way. People.
(23:44):
I'll talk about any damn thing I want too. How
about this we're gonna take. We're gonna go back on
the way back machine again. I'm gonna throw out a
word that you may word that you may not have
heard in a long time. Game Stop. Remember game Stop?
I remember game Stop because of my kid. I have
three kids, there's pretty much in their mid upper twenties,
ones and young thirties. That was the store that was
(24:06):
around the corner that we had to go in because
there was the new video game coming out. You had
to get on the waiting list. If you're a millennial
or if you're an older generation Z gamer, you know
what it's like to walk into a game stop and
there's a few things you did. You would buy stuff,
or you would trade in your unwanted games or your
(24:30):
old consoles. Remember that, Well, guess what game Stop is doing.
Believe it or not, there still are game stops. I
don't even know if they're in Texas, but I thought
this was interesting. On December sixth, Saturday, two weeks No
next week, right, No, no, two weeks right now. It's
(24:51):
game Stop is having its first ever Trade Anything Day.
Sounds like a game show Trade Anything. People can trade
in anything they want for store credit. Now, listen to this.
Objects that you can bring in and choose to trade in.
They have to fit in a twenty by twenty by
(25:14):
twenty box twenty inches by twenty inches by twenty inches,
and you could trade in one item. Customers are gonna
get store credit for their trade ins. GameStop has not
stated how the value of the item is traded in
will be determined. I will update you when their guide
(25:34):
comes out soon. Anything and that includes crafts. Got a
crochet that you knitted, some sculptures, If it fits in
a twenty by twenty box, it's in there, axidermist, You
got an old stuff squirrel? Get in there now. Yes,
(25:58):
there's an asterisk. You can't bring in hazardous waste chemicals, liquids,
lithium ion batteries. You can't bring in dead or alive animals.
You cannot bring in alcohol, tobacco, drugs, can't bring in computers,
can't bring in gift cards, can't bring I'm reading this
right now. You cannot bring in quote anything resembling body
(26:21):
parts unquote. Well there it goes things in my refrigerator.
I can't damn it. I say this is because pretty cute,
pretty funny, great marketing. It's got an idiot like me
talking about it for two to three minutes on national radio.
What would you trade in? You have one shot? Okay,
I would actually say my sister would not fit into
(26:44):
twenty by twenty by twenty inch box. But what would
you You got a blanket? And I want to know
what they're gonna give you for it, because GameStop does
not need crochet items. They're gonna give you a penny.
I mean, it's a fun promotion. It's nostalgic because they
(27:06):
use trade again. And I'm gonna tell you how bad
Game Stop used to be. I had, and I probably
still do. I have a DVD collection, and my kids
have video game collections, physical video game cartridges, and we
would buy these video game cartridges for sixty bucks a pop.
I don't even know how much they are right now,
(27:28):
but they're not even on cartridges. You download these things.
I would return them years later, and if I got
six hours muths to less two dollars, I'm lying, they
would then probably resell them again for another thirty or
thirty dollars. I mean, it's it's it was an interesting
business model. But guess what what's old is new again?
(27:49):
Open phone lines three four six two nine eight three
nine two six What will or would you want to
trade in? On trade anything today at GameStop on December six.
We'll talk more off this sudden next week too. All right,
coming up last sea, I'm I know this first hour
of a high Tech Texan show. It's mister Garfield, Michael Barfield,
your view. This portion of the High Tech Texan Show.
(28:23):
It can't do with all the big sponsors. And this
is the perfect time to tell you about US coins
and jewelry in Houston. But you don't need to be
in Houston because my show is heard all over the state.
But if you are into coins, want to sell some coins,
want to buy some coins, and just Texas memorabilia, sports memorabilia,
(28:44):
jewelry obviously, Rolex's where I get mine us coins and
Jewelry dot Com. Yes, it's in Houston, second generation Kenny
and Matthew Duncan. And this is the best time of year.
Why not get somebody I go, you know, I look
through the case. They probably have. I'm certainly dozens, dozens
and dozens of beautiful Rolex watches. I just got a
(29:05):
titanium one. Oh it's so nice, lightest Rolex I've ever touched.
Scene felt owned. Oh my goodness. Not a big coin guy.
But now that pennies are going bye bye, I don't know,
maybe they're gonna start buying up some pennies. Either way,
I want you to talk to Kenny and Matthew duncan.
Bring your coin collection in there. And if you've got
(29:26):
gold what is called four thousand bucks and ounce right now.
Should have listened to those guys years ago when they
said hoard it at about a thousand, hoard it now
it's four thousand dollars. If you want to sell, got
your grandparents grandparents have a lot of gold, they're just
sitting on it doing nothing. Maybe you can commit something
to give it to you all right, now's the time
to do it. Us coins and Joey dot com. Ien

(30:31):
garf love your. SHOW i know you, do, BROTHER i
love your food, Too Cobo. BOBS a few months ago
you were talking about. PROJECTORS a Son. Silas he is
interested in getting a projector For. Christmas any tips that
you can give? Me all, right it's a good. Question
for past year or, TWO i have been saying projectors
may be the way to go instead of getting a
(30:51):
traditional high DEFINITION, tv which you generally have to place
on a wall or put on a stand that could
be to work between forty three inches to eighty five.
Inches looking to, projectors especially if you're on the, move
if you've got an outdoor back patio for, entertaining if
you've got a swimming pool where your kids want to
(31:14):
sit and hang in the pool and you watch movies or.
Something if you have guys or girls or all your
people coming over and you want to watch a big
sporting of a big football, game and you want to
entertain outside because you don't want them in your, house
in your, kitchen you, know where the TYPICAL tv. Is
projectors are pretty cool because projectors they have gotten so.
Advanced THEN i remember my first, projector WHICH i got
(31:35):
thirty years ago, maybe which is a big old projector
THAT i had to be mounted professionally on the ceiling
of my you, know media, room and it's got the you,
know the, red, white and, blue and that it was
like what, red, yellow, green, yellow and blue different lenses
and they were expensive and you had to have it,
(31:57):
focused and then you had to have different speakers set. Up,
nowadays these projectors are Portable Wi, fi built in. Speakers
literally you could have and PROJECTED tv anywhere you. Go
so there are NUMBER i, mean there are tons of different,
manufacturers but things that you have to. Consider Number, one
(32:20):
where do you plan to place the projector in your?
Room because this will dictate what kind of projector you're
going to want to. Buy how big of a room
do you? Have how big of a picture do you
want on your? Wall if you want a one hundred inch,
picture a traditional projector will need to be placed about
twelve and a half feet from your, wall so you
(32:41):
better have a relatively big. Room can your room accommodate?
That these are questions you need to ask. Yourself, nowadays
there are things called short throw projectors that could be placed,
closer or even ultra short throw projector that could be
placed a foot or less from the wall and it
(33:06):
projects up at an. Angle those are pretty. Cool if
you want a traditional long throw, projector you're gonna mount
it on your, Ceiling you're gonna put it at a.
Table then you're gonna have to manage all the cables and.
Everything how bright is the room going to? Be if
(33:27):
you have a fairly bright. Room you better get one
with a lot of what they call, lumens a very
very bright. One projectors today are. Great some of you
may not even never use A. TV i just got
my son a. Projector he's In. Austin he has A,
(33:48):
tv but he's got this really nice. Patio it's a
like a wood. Deck it's it has an. Overhang but
loves watching. Football AND i got him this. Projector And
i'll take exactly what it. Was it was from a
company called X jimmy X gimi X Gimi. CHINESE i believe.
(34:10):
Company projector is. Portable it's the size Of i'm not
gonna call it A pringles, cam but it's a vertical
little thing comes in a. Case he cannot weigh more
than a pound and a.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Half very.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Bright puts it on the. Stand it as it comes
with a little. Stand it swivels. Out you could set
it up within. Seconds hook it up to your. WiFi
it's got built In YouTube tv, App GOOGLE tv, app
all this other. Things it's got a speaker so he
doesn't keep it out there all the. Time if he
(34:44):
wants to just go, outside he grabs this little, projector
sets it, up plugs it in does have to be plugged,
in logs onto his YouTube tv account and he throws
and he makes it about one hundred inch maybe one
hundred and twenty INCH tv. SCREEN i think he was
out there with it For. Halloween he had to Be halloween.
Party they were watching football or. Baseball it was really
cool that. Thing it was called The mogo it he
(35:05):
has THE i got him The mogo three m Og o,
anyway that's Ex. Jimmy there's another company Called yarbo y A.
RBO i THINK i have one of those test products.
Too they can run maybe anywhere between two hundred to
three hundred and fifty. Dollars yes you could, Probably, yes
you can GET TVs cheap than, that but yes you
can get TV's much more expensive than, that especially if
(35:27):
you want a large. One but a lot of these
are TEN, adp they're four. K they sound. Great so, Yes,
arnold thank you for writing an. Email whether you could
have called me also on the, phone but.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Those may be the way to.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Go it's a it's a really neat. Guest especially if
you got. Kits you could you could take it, inside
you could take it, outside you could make the you,
know put it closer to the, Wall you've got a smaller.
Picture put it far from the, Wall you've got a bigger.
Picture and tell you about my test for that one
hour down of a high tech text show coming out next,

and he would make this big vat you, know bowl
with the ladle and that there's nutmeg in. There AND
i guess he didn't spike it directly with whiskey in
there because there were kids, there but maybe but there
(38:34):
would be a bottle right next to it that you
can add your. Own And i'm SURE i was a,
kid And i'm SURE i snuck some of that whiskey in,
there which started my uh uh my love of brown
water and. Whiskey but neither here nor. There if it,

(38:55):
it would get freaking. Cooler that's that's ALL i. Need
It's november In, texas, people it need needs to be cool.
Already with that phone number here three four six twenty
Nine texan three four six two nine eight three nine two,
Six hello To, Houston San, Antonio dallas terrestrial, radio and
hello to everybody listening on The iHeartRadio. App. Uh one
(39:17):
thing we haven't talked about yet this week because there's
it's everybody's in agreement right. Now but it was the
past month Almost it was the issue with YouTube tv And.
Disney remember that whole thing for two or three weeks
people were freaking, out blah. Blah by, anyway it came to. Pass,
whatever what did you? Do for those of you who
Had YouTube tv still hopefully a you still have ITT
(39:38):
b and you wanted to watch ANY, Abc, HULU, ESPN espn,
two any of. That so what did you? Do did
you go? Without because there were there were ways to
get around. It you, know you can actually subscribe To
Hulu Plus, live, which, oh by the, way is also
A disney owned entoit. Two BUT I i TOLD i
(40:00):
was giving. PEOPLE i was giving you guys some suggestions
because that's WHAT i. DO i, cover you, know, streaming
it's you, know it's tech without a. Doubt sling you
ever heard Of SLING. Tv SLING tv has been offering
for quite a while a one day pass to watch
(40:21):
pretty much, anything including. Sports and when Those saturdays came
around in the first part Of november and you wanted
to watch all Your saturday college, game you, know game,
stuff you for five bucks to get a one day.
Pass it's pretty. Ingenious, Well disney actually did not like.
(40:41):
That disney tried to Block sling TV's one day cable.
Passes but guess what a federal judge In New york
Denied disney's request to block those short term. Passes so
if you're a viewer and you really want to stream
live content for as little as one, day you're still
(41:02):
allowed to do. That and they Suit sling shortly after
their LIVE tv streaming service started letting viewers purchase temporary
access to all of its channels five bucks a. Day
not bad if you want to watch it one day a, Week.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Fling.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
One and guess What sling is. Doing they are so.
Excited SLING tv is now Offering this is not a.
COMMERCIAL i wish it, was but it's. Not i'm just
giving you the public. Service, No SLING tv is offering
it's one day pass right. Now maybe it's A Black
friday deal at a discounted one dollar rate to celebrate
(41:44):
this court. Win how about that one? Dollar So i'm
reading this press release And i'm, thinking let's let's extrapulate.
This IF i can get all you can watch CABLE
tv for one dollar a, Day i'm at thirty bucks a.
Month let me help you. Out that is a hell
(42:07):
of a lot cheaper Than i'm currently paying For exfinity and.
Comcasts right? Now why not do? It? OH i continue
to read the press. Release it's only good Through november.
Thirtieth so if you're hearing this and you want to try,
it you've got maybe a week and a half to
get a one day, pass day to day to. DAY
(42:27):
i ACTUALLY i think that that's very. Smart that's a
great way to test, things and it also gave them
again some neat publicity that even a dude like me
can actually talk about. It one dollar a, day you're
gonna Get Sling. Orange that's the. Level it's new and
returning customers Through november. Thirtieth what channels are in? There,
(42:51):
uh let's See sling Extra. Sling, actually let me see
IF i can Find sling, orange because there's STILL i
think there's. Orange there's. Blue, yeah there's orange and. Blue
here we go learn. MORE, ESPN, CNN TN T they
got a lot of these hanging on. There oh my,
god there's one two three, four one, two, three, four, five, six,
(43:15):
seven eight eight different there's about thirty five different. Channels,
yes but you do GET, espn C, N, N A,
MC espn, TWO A, N, E History, Channel Food, NETWORK,
hg T V t AND T. Tbs that's not bad
for a bucket. Day, then if you want over the,
Air i've told you for a long, time go get
in over the era digital. Channel that's not. Bad so no,
(43:36):
way these, holdouts The disney Versus YouTube, tv they are
going to continue because this is a game that companies
play because they want more. Money AND i don't know
where it's going to. Stop but right, now MY i,
MEAN i still have, cable and we could talk about
(43:57):
cutting the cord and just getting internet, access which is
gonna be sixty five to seventy five high speed internet
access a. Month then you're gonna have your pay. Channels
then you're gonna have your services like YouTube, tv then
you gonna have your streaming Tim it's more than. Cable
this is the. Economy this is the business that we live.
In and then when you have players Like, disney which
(44:18):
has incredible, content especially when it comes to sports with
all of THE espn properties and THE abc and The
Monight football and, everything it's only gonna go. UP i
don't know where it. STOPS i have to have my.
SPORTS i can only man can only live alone and
women can only live alone on so much over the year.
Sports if you want to watch it over the, air
you can WATCH, Abccbs Fox saturday games for college. Football
(44:44):
you're only gonna get a Handful sunday. Games you, know
there's only one early, game one legue, game and Then
Sunday Night football ON. Nbc and NOW abc is Simulcasting
Monday Night. Football it used to be ON, abc then
it was ON. Espn now it's ON abc. Again but that's, it.

Now open phone, lines well we got one or two
open phone, lines so you can just go ahead AND x,

(45:55):
BUT i tried to a lot of a lot of
more and more video. REVIEWS I, Austin. AUSTIN i have
a weekly tech segment on The fox Affiliate fox seven
there THAT i kind of like. Regurgetate is that the word,
regurgitate reconstitute, ORANGE i don't even, know BUT i take
(46:15):
that content THAT i put. IT i try to put
it on all of my, socials the YouTube, stuff and
so you can see some of the things THAT i
have been yapping. About phone number here if you do
want to call and get your voice heard all across
the world On iHeartRadio three four six two nine eight
three nine two. Six no matter what type of, phone
be it an iPhone or An, android you still should
(46:37):
still get. Through speaking of A android versus. iPhone i was.
Listen if you're a longtime, listener you Know i'm an android.
Guy that's, Right i'm a green bubble. GUY i KNOW
i am. OSTRACIZED i KNOW i am. OPPRESSED i hear,
(46:59):
you all of You. Androids i'm with. You let others
laugh at, us let them shun. Us but we're laughing
all the, way, baby because we got the greatest. Photos
and by the, way our phones still make, calls still
search still have all the apps that anybody else pretty
much has and so. Whatever BUT i am the guy
(47:22):
across the, board and none of the stuff is paid.
Whatsoever iPhone Doesn't, Sadly apple doesn't pay. Me, Sadly, Samsung,
google Lg one plus all these other androids know what
this is just. Me they don't pay. Me i'm never
going to try to convert an iPhone or to An,
android or An android to an. iPhone you do what
(47:43):
you want to do because we are comfy with who
we are and what we. Do if you love your
iPhone and everybody in your family's got an iPhone and
you use A mac computer and you're all in the same,
ecosystem and you, Say androids is just the total foreign,
language and you don't think you can use. It, whatever
(48:04):
you do that thing and vice. Versa the same thing.
Too BUT i will tell you this because people, say
oh my, god you're the high Tech. Texas why don't
you have an? iPhone i Had version. ONE i was
the very first person in the city Of, houston And
i'm serious to Buy they wouldn't give it to. ME
i for six hundred dollars exclusively to exclusively THROUGH at AND.
T if you remember back in two thousand and, SEVEN
(48:25):
i knew people AT at AND T, YES i got
a little inside info AND i was the first person
to be able to purchase and buy an. iPhone i
will say to this day it continues to be one
of the biggest paradigm shift game changers in any amount
of technology that we have seen for. Generations the SECOND
i held, it the SECOND i saw, IT i knew
(48:45):
that flip phones for which in, blackberries which we use back,
then they were. GONZO i, said every phone coming out
is going to have this, touchscreen, glass green and. Everything
not THAT i was prescient or, anything BUT i just knew. It, However,
google And i'm A google, fan when they came up
with The android operating, system and they gave that license
away to every manufacturer From samsung from to one plus.
(49:08):
Two it goes on and on or. On more people
around the world use The Google android operating system than
the iPhone operating. System that is a. Fact look it.
Up sixty to seventy five percent of all the world Uses.
Android SO i want to. TALK i Use android because
Nice android companies send me test phones to, use Versus,
(49:31):
apple who has no clue THAT i. Exist so screw,
them but neither here nor. THERE i do want to
talk to the majority of my audience Because android is
the majority out. There BUT i don't try to convert.
YOU i don't Say android is the greatest thing of the.
World if you're an, iPhone come, over come over to our.
SIDE i don't say. That having said, that it's funny
BECAUSE i was on a trip To canada about a month,
(49:53):
ago and then we talked about. This if you listen
to a show or on a hiking trip with three
of my best friends for thirty plus, years, enough three
of the four of us have. Androids it's nice being
in the. Majority one dude lives here in The houston
area has an iPhone and so we the three of us.
(50:14):
Androids we were quick. Sharing we don't, airdrop we quick
share and our friend we didn't mean, to but he
was left. Out he's, like oh, man what stuff like,
that and we and you, know we were kind of
making fun because for, finally you, know we're the. King you,
know everybody you are All android and what away he
(50:34):
decided that he wants to actually try An, android AND i,
Said i'll tell you. WHAT i have a drawarf full
of recent android. Phones let me let you use one
for a month and you tell me what you. Think,
still you, know you still keep your, iPhone but go
(50:56):
go ahead and buy A sim card or get a
DIGITAL sim card for one, month get a phone. Number
cost you fifteen. BUCKS i gave, him, LIKE i told
him to go To Mint mobile fifteen. Bucks SO i.
Did and he is right now Using Samsung GALAXY s
twenty three about two generations maybe the phones two years.
(51:16):
Old great phone really is and he's liking. It is
he going to? Switch probably not because his, wife his,
kids they all use, iPhones but the fact is good
for him for trying it. Out but what he's, realizing
just anecdotally after a few days that you, know he's
given me some, feedback but he, goes you're, right there's
(51:38):
not much of a. Difference there's it still is a
phone that's roughly six and a half six and three
quarter inches. Diagonal there's a glass. Screen you download, apps
you can make phone, calls you could surf the, web
you can, text you can video, chat you could do
all this. Stuff but that's What i've been trying to.
(51:58):
Say one of the things THAT i try to do
for twenty plus years here being onto in the media
talking about tacking many other consumer lifestyle. Products is let
me just give you an idea of what's out. There
maybe you want to try. It AND i remember starting Compare,
LISTEN i was comparing, LEDs you, KNOW TVs versus you,
know the PLASMA. TVs i was a plasma, guy JUST
(52:22):
i liked. Plasma that was. ME i review cars now
for fifteen. Years if you're looking for, SUVs, listen you
may just be, said, OH i want To. MERCEDES i
want A Lexis mercedes. Lexib i'm, like have you even
tried A? Kia have you tried A? Genesis there's some
phenomenal cars you don't need to spend as much and
they've got some need innovations. STUFF i think that's WHAT i. Do,
(52:45):
so you, KNOW i can harken back to the life. Commercial,
hey let's give it To. Mikey he'll try. Anything he likes. It, Hey,
mikey just try. It but when it comes to the,
phones there is no. WAR i, mean you, know you
may think there's a war of this versus that like,
that but you could take. Anything. Listen Aggie's, Longhorns United, States,
(53:09):
Mexico United, States. CANADA i, mean you've Got, cowboys you
got The, Commanders you've Got microsoft Versus. Macintosh do you
Want windows or do you want the Mac? Os and
certainly the big one now and it continues to be
it's the iPhones because there's so many fanboys and fangirls
(53:29):
of each of those iPhones And. Andrews but can't we
all get? Along so if you're interested in trying it,
OUT i don't, KNOW i may have an Extra android
for you to. Try, Listen i'm not Promoting. Andrew Notice i'm.
Not i've got Other androids Than. Samsung i'm actually what
a phone THAT i like just as good as from
a company called One. Plus i'm now playing with the
(53:50):
one plus. Fifteen camera's, great thinner and LIGHTER i think
in some of My. Samsung's so try, it you maybe like.
It product, Anything that's What i'm here. For and with,
that we're gonna take a. Break when we come, back
we're gonna do some a little different lining up a phone.
Call if you have a, business a small, business or a,
(54:11):
website or really just interested in branding, yourself how do
you get more? Traction because you if you build, it
they will not come necessarily you have to use search
engine optimization and NOW ai. Optimization we're gonna talk To Steve,
winter the president Of, astounds a GREAT ceo, COMPANY ceo
(54:32):
AND seo, company and some acronyms that he's gonna blow
your mind with Because i've never even heard of that's
coming back now in the hot, Standby we welcome you, Back
(55:07):
Michael garfield lose their name less than thirty more minutes
of this high tech texting. Show if you're listening anywhere
around the, state hey, man it's this really cool thing terrestrial.
Radio so thanks for tuning in and also downloading the iHeartRadio.
App we've been spending most of this. Show yeahpen About
Black friday coming, up what deals and what sales are.
Happening And i'm still have some open phone lines for,
(55:28):
you BUT i don't want to sleep on the fact
that this is the time of YEAR i think where
people may be gearing up for the following, year twenty twenty.
Six just around the. Corner if you've got a business
and you, know maybe you've been diddleddaddling around going, HEY
i need a new, WEBSITE i need a you, know
Maybe i'm an experiment in online ads or search engine.
Optimization you, know we are still doing that for. You
and when it comes to things LIKE, SEO i like
(55:51):
talking about. It i'd like to Think i'm an, expert
BUT i know there are smarter people than, me which
is WHY i host a show AND i get people
who are experts to call, in and with, THAT i
do want to bring in the expert here in the
state Of, texas if not the country when it comes
to search engine. Optimization his name Is Steve. Winter he
is the president's founder of what's company In houston Called
Astounds with A, z he joins, me first of, all
(56:15):
how is the turkey already? Basing? Baby because you're such an,
Outdoorsman i'm sure you shot your turkey and you got
the giblets.
Speaker 4 (56:21):
Ready, YEAH i went Out keryl this morning and you,
know getting ready to get going and looking forward to.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
It, well that's. Good and THEN i know you're between
golfing and. Everything but for some, Reason STEVE, o this
is a busy time of year for you because a
lot of your, CLIENTS i, mean you build. Websites you
built my website at high tech textsan dot. COM i
MEAN i have to assume that they're gearing up for
twenty twenty, six because you, know that's the one thing
on the. Mind they want to start rolling big time
when it comes To, january when it comes to search engine,
(56:50):
optimization new websites and. Things AM i?
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Correct you are, correct? Sir we are slammed right. Now
we are extremely. BUSY i keep thinking every year we're
going to kind of slow down here in the, holidays
and we get, hammered it seems. Like and people are
they're looking forward to twenty twenty. Six the, economy you,
KNOW i don't know what people are saying out, there
But i'm seeing good economy right, now and people are
excited about. It AND, ai you, know is the buzzword
(57:16):
everyone's talking about and playing with and seeing and all,
that and we're learning a lot about it.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Ourselves how Does i'll say how does Because i'm sure
it DOES ai? Affect or MAYBE i should use how
DOES ai work with search engine? OPTIMIZATION i say that
with an asterisk because, you guys astounds and you and
your staff have unbelievably done such a phenomenal job for
me with searching. Optimization you, KNOW i have keywords LIKE
(57:43):
mc or commercials and things THAT i want to expand my.
Business but obviously you're real. People but now we've got
AN ai. ENGINE i mean is that affecting you or helping?
Speaker 4 (57:51):
You?
Speaker 1 (57:53):
Yes both very.
Speaker 4 (57:55):
Much and what's HAPPENING i laugh about? You now you've GOT, AEO,
eeo L L, M s G, e all these new
acronyms out what is?
Speaker 3 (58:05):
It, Okay i've never heard of?
Speaker 2 (58:06):
Them?
Speaker 4 (58:06):
Yeah, Yeah so you KNOW ai engine optima that you
know is like the answer engines, basically, right the chat,
GPTs the perplexities OF, copi it's all these different you
know which what they're referred to now are large language models,
okay that are grabbing information. Everywhere and it is absolutely impacting,
things to say the, least because what's Happening Now you
(58:29):
go to CHAT gpt and you ask it a, question, right,
know who's the GREATEST pr person In? Houston and of
course it's gonna Say Michael, garfield you, know but but
it's going to tell you that and answer these questions
for you and not take you to a website per. Se,
right it's now trying to get you to stay there
on these answers and. All and so we're seeing a
(58:52):
lot of informational search go down on. Websites but what's
happening is and and you, KNOW i last about a
E O, geo all these different things E I E
I o that are out, there it's still foundationally good
search engine. Optimization it's still the, same just different words around.
It but it is, changing, okay and we've said. It
(59:16):
we like frequently ask questions on a website right just
about on every, page because what are you. Doing you're
asking and answering questions that the large language models that, chad, GPT's,
copils perplexi's are all looking, for and it's grabbing that
information off of your website and it's going to give
that answer and typically give credit to the answer in
(59:37):
the in the, results, okay you. Know and the other
one is, reviews right these third party mentions and where
you get good reviews or whatever it's. Asking you, know
when you're talking for who's the TOP seo company In
houston and we come up or we're listed on these different,
things all of those are going into these answer engines
basically aeos and helping answer these. Things so it's all SE.
(01:00:03):
O it's just continuing to do what you do well
and working on what really has been for a long.
Time WHAT i called people are calling it your brand.
Management it's your reputation. Management is that you have good,
reviews that you have other people mentioning your website and
things like, that because that's what the engine these answer
engines are picking.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Up interesting talking To Steve, winter he is the president
Of astounds AS T O U n D z And
i'm Sure, steve you easily confuse fifty plus percent of
my listeners out there with all these, acronyms BECAUSE i,
mean it's mind. Boggling it's. Funny when you AND i
started specifically working together AND i, would you, KNOW i
would call into you regularly to come on the, show
(01:00:44):
there was JUST. SEO i mean that was A i
remember talking, about well there's traditional radio, ADS tv, ads,
billboards and then there is, oh you got to optimize
your website FOR, Seo and now you just gave me
eighteen other acronyms THAT i, mean how difficult is? YOU i,
mean your staff is obviously top notche but you guys
continue you have to learn these new models and see
(01:01:05):
how you can incorporate it for all your current. Clients
and because you've got to utilize most of all of.
Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
Them, yeah and LIKE i, say found, good, solid foundational technical.
GOOD seo is the foundation for. Everything if you've done that,
right you're paying attention to your reviews and getting, reviews
whether it's On google Or yelp or different third parties
or whatever that we'll mention you out. There it's you,
know it stays the. Same but then we also have
(01:01:31):
other tools right now that you know that Will it's
just fascinating what this stuff. Does you, know we can
go put in content and we will, create you, know
things For, instagram things for, TikTok you, know, podcasts all
kinds of different, things and we can push that out
across three hundred channels and do that in a matter of,
(01:01:52):
minutes you, know which is scary at the same, time
but it is amazing what we can do to help
build content and get, it you, know get it out
there so the third party folks will pick it. Up
so when you know this say it. Starts but let
me say one real big caveat and And i'm not
saying this is, forever but everyone's worried about the, chat
(01:02:16):
GPTs and everything and taking away but very very little,
today almost. Zero Search Engine land just did a big
thing on This very little transactions are happening because of
the chat GPTs or. Whatever it's still going back to a,
website and the websites are still what are? Transactional, okay
(01:02:37):
so you'll you, know it'll answer things and the informational.
Searches you, know how do you get rid of ticks and?
Flees you know where it used to go to our
client ABC's. Website maybe some of, that, yes now that
might get answered and CHAT, gbt but it's still going
to link you back over TO abc to go buy those.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Services but a lot of stuff happening over. Here his
name Is Steve winters And. Stowns i'll ask you for
you phone number here for anybody wants. To but at
the end of the, Day, steve here's what's. Happening it's
about being. Found if you Have you'll say it, again
you could have the greatest, website you could have the greatest,
product but if you can't find it via just search
engine optimization or now all these other, acronyms it ain't worth.
(01:03:15):
It and that's what your company. Does AND i know
that it's worked with. ME i mean you you recreated
my website from ground. Up you put some search engine
optimization over. There it works with. You it's just about being.
Found people use. Search people now are using the, chat
GPTs and all the OTHER ai stuff is now it's
just you and your. Company you need to make sure
that all your clients that they're out. There and with that,
(01:03:36):
said if people do want to, now now is the
good time to plan for twenty twenty. Six if they
want to get in touch with, you how can they contact?
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
You, well as you said at astound dot COM A
S T O U n D z dot com or
seven one three nine oh four five thousand and one,
Five i'd love to love to talk to. You and
if we're very transparent in what we, do we walk
you through you know how this stuff, works what's. Needed
(01:04:02):
you know that there rarely we look at four pillars
OF seo and we walk you through what those are
and what that, means and do it and play In
english so you understand what all these different things are
and how they.
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
Work simple as. THAT i. KNOW i remember sat down
for quite a while with. YOU i, mean you guys
wanted to learn my business model before you started building,
it because that's one of the customer service AND i
love AND i appreciate customer service because those it's far
and few to be found within. Companies but it's all
starts with, you, baby because you know, What you're A dallas,
Boy you're a ut. Boy that's why you say you
start from the ground up and you go. Down you're the.
Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
BEST A, yeah we have an interesting game coming, up.
Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Coming, up a lot of interesting. Games who, know not
the not the year we. Wanted but you know, what
there's always twenty twenty, six not only for The, horns
but also for your website thanks to A Stouns. Stave, hey,
listen best to, you family and everybody at the staff
For stounds dot. Com AND i know we'll be talking
to you. Regularly my.
Speaker 4 (01:04:58):

are trying to wind it. UP i do want to
do with. THINGS i promise this white elephant. Gift anybody
did this white elephant. Thing it's a gift. Exchange and
you know you're sometimes you have a, Budget, okay anything
under fifteen. Dollars we're gonna bring the stupidest gift that
(01:06:45):
we can and then everybody's gonna git in a circle
and then you can exchange it and steal it from.
SOMEBODY i don't even know how that. Works what is your?
WELL i don't want to say what is? GOING i
want you to call here anymore like. That maybe we'll
do more with this next. Week got you favorite go to?
Gift WHAT I it is easy for me to give
white elephant gifts because did you know WHAT i? DO
(01:07:06):
i walk into one of my four closets that is
nothing but floor to ceiling pack with all the. Crap
some of it are good, stuff with all due, respect
gadgets and gear and review products that company see me
on a year round. BASIS i literally could host the
world's largest craziest white elephant gift exchange in the state Of,
(01:07:27):
texas if not. More i've got everything From i'm not
kid yim and here's some. Ideas flashlight. Gloves there are
gloves with little led flashlights on. There ten Bucks. AMAZON
i have a desktop vacuum cleaner thirteen Dollars. Amazon i'm
not kidding. YOU i don't know WHY i never installed,
(01:07:52):
it but for ten, dollars some company sent me a
toilet seat night. Light i'm not kidding. You it goes
on the rim and then it lights up you when
it has. Motion there are everything from card games to
candle car, fresheners air. Fresheners There's i've got toilet paper,
(01:08:12):
Jokes dad.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Jokes.
Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
Uh, Yes Then i've got tech, stuff portable charges for, iPhone,
watches coffee mug. Warmers next week we're to do what's the, craziest,
weirdest oddest white elephant gift is? There and what's the what's?
PROPER i, mean how much should you? SPEND i mean
this white elephan gift under one hundred. DOLLARS i mean
that's a little too. MUCH i, mean how tight are
(01:08:37):
you with these? People i'll tied you with. THAT i don't.
Know it's, uh it's it's interesting. Stuff here's a white
elephant get THAT i would. LOVE i do car. Reviews,
well guess what it's time for a very very quick car.
Review What's michael driving in this past? WEEK i was
in a Super Ru. FORESTER i like these Super ru to,
(01:08:57):
me it's the national vehicle Of, idaho Maybe. Colorado so
many people in that neck of the. Woods they go
from snow to mountains to off ro there's Super rus.
Everywhere super rows are quite, nice a little bit more
expensive THAN i thought for all these off roading. SUVs
The forester was a good. ONE i had a really
nice kind of high wind about forty eight thousand dollars or.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
So.
Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
Decent pickup technology is. Good they got a twelve inch
touch Screen Hickey. Michael and, now in my job is
to review, THINGS i think they could do better with
the design of their user. Interface they're gooey their graphical user.
Interface maybe they're. Fonts it looks a little. Schlocky if
that's the biggest issue THAT i have with driving a
(01:09:42):
Super Roo, forester THEN i think you're. Okay but if
for some reason you have a, ranch you're In texas
and you go on road and off, road you want
to have a very SMALL cuv or AN, suv The
forester not a big deal. Whatsoever you can get. Those and,
again WHEN i review, cars it is not through a.
DEALERSHIP i work directly with the. MAN i can rag on,
THEM i can love on. Them they don't pay me,
(01:10:03):
whatever SO i can't tell you where to. Go. Go
go find A superwood. Dealer there you. Go that's my
recommendation for. That but if you buy traditional cars, online
shopping is starting to become, prevalent AND i saw this
thing when it comes to, vehicles AND i just kind
of wanted to hit to hit. This you can now
buy a, vehicle a previously, owned certified pre owned On,
(01:10:28):
Amazon Amazon autos and again not a commercial For. AMAZON
i wish it. Was ford is now along With, hyundai
it's listing used vehicles On amazon's car buying. Site didn't
even know That amazon had a car buying. Site but
you can, browse you could, finance and you could buy
(01:10:51):
certified pre owned forward. Vehicles AND i Guess hundai vehicles
Through Amazon autos with in person pick up at A ford.
Dealership so the WAY i understand it and realize, it
it's just another marketing vehicle For ford in this case
instead of just you, know, LISTEN i need a. Four
(01:11:12):
let me find the little Closest ford dealership to, me
and what do they have for Pre now It's, amazon
which is the world's largest you know online you, know
buying filta and then you can actually hone it. Down
people typically hate car. SHOPPING a lot of surveys showing
that the dealership experience it tops people's list of. FRUSTRATIONS
i have not bought a car for myself since two
(01:11:35):
thousand and. Five it has been twenty. YEARS i have
gone to a, dealership AND i bought a car for
each of my. Kids they've been used, CARS i, believe
BUT i THINK i go to a dealership Light it's
not the easiest and most fun thing to. Do hasla
they spirited that movement toward the direct to, consumer THE dtc.
Model they buy their vehicles directly from the. Company no more.
(01:11:56):
Dealerships forty eight states have laws that limit or, bandman
you have some selling vehicles directly to consumers starting to.
Shift but now we can go To. Amazon good, thing bad.
Thing this is technology. People this is Why heck is.
Around it makes it easy easier to do, things which
Is i'm trying to help you optimize your search, engine
(01:12:17):
which is why we Had Steve winter on the show
just this past. Hour but this is WHAT i do
for twenty three. YEARS i just want to give you some,
advice entertain you for two, hours and sometimes give things
