And it is summertime. It ishot, and it's particularly rough right
now with this weather, it isbrutal even for Houston, Texas. This
is abnormally hot. And I feelsorry for and have a lot of concern
for those of you who do workoutside, in particular construction and road and

(12:48):
all that where there's additional heat fromthe materials and stuff. So please,
please, please, if you areworking outside or if you were playing outside,
do what you can to stay hydratedand uh and cool off every once
in a while. Um. Itjust uh, it is downright dangerous.

go anywhere because he's got some specialannouncements as a special shout out to coming

(18:18):
up. These are important messages thatare embedded in the program. Don't forget
you go back and listen to allthe episodes of Musicology one on one like
going to world podcast page. Checkit out Musicology one O one. Speaking

(19:11):
of taking care of business, Iwant to give a special shout out to
my good buddies Jason and Jeff overat ie Smart Systems up in spring for
all of your audio video lighting integrationneeds and uh them and their crew,
they are always working and working everywhere. I mean they go everywhere to do

(19:33):
the work, and I've just theyare busy, so special shout out to
them. As we talk about workingpeople, it is I, it is
he, it is me, Itis Professor Al with Musicology one oh one,
celebrating the working man, so thatwe can all go into our respective
vacations with a clear conscience because wehave done our job, we have put
in our time, we have paidour dues. And the funny thing is,

(20:00):
I'm sure a lot of people getthis way. I know not everybody
does, but I know a lotof people. You become kind of wrapped
up in your work, in particularduring hectic times, and it kind of
is always on your brain, andyou get so used to that habit of
you know, you go to bed, you wake up, and you know,
you have your routine, whatever yourroutine is, get the kids ready
for school, or if you don'thave kids, just get ready for work.

(20:23):
And then when I go on vacation, it takes me a couple of
days to come down off of thatbecause I work, you know, all
day, and I do work somenights and I work, I mean because
of the nature of my business, and my hours aren't always necessarily the same
hours every day, and and itjust makes it where when a client needs

(20:48):
me, I have to answer thephone a lot of times, even if
it is after hours, and soon these times when I do go and
disconnect, it takes a couple ofdays before like the phantom ringing, the
vibrating stops. And I'm sure thatother people experience this, but I can
tell you from personal experience, ifyou haven't take some time to disconnect from

(21:10):
that. And this is not agrander social commentary about the evils of technology
or anything of the nature. No, what it is is to give yourself
a chance to resensitize to it andto rest, because burnout is a real
thing. So if you get achance, even if it's just for a
weekend sometime, just turn it offand disconnect. And for those of you

(21:33):
that work the bankers hours, thenine to five hours, the more regular
schedules, don't think that that makesyour job any less stressful and any less
deserving of your vacation. You justhappen to have the skill set that allows
you to work said job and weapplaud you and all that you do,
because I know that I really appreciatewhen there's actually somebody there that knows what
they're doing. When I go tothe bank, or anyone who works the

(21:56):
type of job where you work nineto five, tumble out a bit and
a stumble to the kitchen for myself, a cup of ambition in your own
and stretch and try to come toline jumping the shower, and the blood

(22:19):
starts pumping out on the streets. The traffic starts chopping box like me on
the jar for nine to five workingnight, you find water away to make
live and heady. Captain by it'sall taking and no give. Just use
your mind and they never give youcredit and bind you cy to the life

(22:48):
or servicing devotion. Think that whatdeserve a devotion? Want to move ahead,
but the boss won't seem to letme. I swear sometimes how you
got They let you dream just towatch the shadow. You're just to step

(23:12):
on the boss man's ladder, Butyou got dreams. He'll never take away
the same boat with a lot ofyour friends. When for the day your
ship will come in and the time'sgonna turn, and it's all gonna roll
your way working night by I don'twin to make leave and Daddy getting binding.

(23:34):
It's all taking it. Don't getgay wis you go mind and you
neverver gets the Freddy. It's afind you crazy and to it. They

(23:56):

(24:26):
is as professorality of musicology one onone bat celebrating the working men and women
people and uh and celebrating all thatwe do so that we can finally get
to our vacations. Speaking of hardworking people, there are very few people
on the planet that work as hardat as many things as Dolly Parton does.

(24:48):
So for any of you that uhscaffar or gaffar or whatever at her
being in the rock and roll Hallof Fame, I'll fight you on that
one. She's earned every bit ofit as a revolutionary and uh and has
done so much for so many otherpeople along the way. If you noticed
that there was an editor there, full confession, I was recording and had

(25:14):
my dog with me today and hestarted barking, of course, right while
I was recording, So if younotice the splice that just happened, that's
because I guess even dogs can goto work too. Yeah, this was

Speaking of hard work and individuals. Our old buddy, Outlaw Dave is always
got his hand in some kind ofpot or another. As I mentioned last
time, keep a lookout for OutlawDave and Erskine Entertainment bringing in bands like

(29:34):
Brody Lane down to the Houston area. If you haven't heard them, check
them out. It's aj from Valejo'sother country rock project. They're very,
very good and it is definitely worthyou taking a few minutes and checking them
out. Miriam Webster defines a vacationas a period spent away from home or

(29:56):
business in travel or recreation, ascheduled period during which activity as of court
or vacation is suspended, a respiteor time of respite from something, and
an act or instance of vacating whichseems redundant. As I prepare for my

(30:17):
technological vacation in the middle of thehill country nowhere, I hope that each
of you actually gets some time todo so this year this summer, hopefully,
and wherever it is, it's definitelya lot nicer temperature or has really
good air conditioning for you guys. This heat is brutal, as we keep
talking about, but there are someexciting things on the front. Speaking of

(30:40):
working, so when getting back fromvacation, the Texas t Tavern over on
Brittmore will once again be hosting monthlylive music jam, again hosted by yours
truly, Professor al I will begetting back to you guys with more details

that Outlawed Dave and the usual castof characters Usual Suspects has coming up,
including the aforementioned Erskine Entertainment. Iwould like to do an one more quick
shout out to Charlie Way from WayBetter Sound, who is one of the
best sound guys I've ever worked with. He did Bikes on the Bayou this

(31:23):
year. He did a phenomenal job. Yet recently a little golf cart accident
happened, not his fault, buthe is recovering from the injury and we
hope that his recovery goes full on. So sending out a well wish to
a very hard working and very verytalented guy. Until next time, it
is high it as he at hismeat. As Professor al, this has
