Oh so, last night I gota phone call from my friend John jan
Nash John Jannash from Second Chess Productions. He is a small not small time,

but a smaller music promoter here inthe Houston area doing stuff kind of
around Southeast Texas. I've been workingwith him out at the Wildcatter Saloon.
Many of you may have seen hisshows at b a Fee or the Scout
Bar, or that was at thesixteenth Street Pier, Tumbleweeds. Somebody places
over the years, and everybody hastheir story, right. His story is

that thirteen or fourteen years ago hehad gotten in a bunch of trouble and
the judge took a chance on himand said, bock lock you up for
whatever it was twenty five to thirtyyears or something. He said, but
it looks like all your problems seemedto stem from your tep. What's the
story? Because I heard him tellBrian head Wells. He told the story

with the who's who evers. Sothey realized that it was alcohol and drugs
that were really probably no bad temper, right, but it's all exacerbated,
right, And so his story ofhe got a second chance, they send
him to rehab instead of sending himto TDC Pecker Woods. So when he
got out of rehab and almost twodecades of sobriety. And he named his

company Second Chance Production because he wasgiven a second chance and he preaches that
and not white knuckling. But anyway, DJ won and only. And so
about three years ago he had somestomach pain and he went he thought it

was a pendicitist or something starts out. He had stage four colon cancer.
They gave him less than sixteen monthsto live. Well, he's still alive.
It's three years later, but thirtyseven hundred chemos and twelve directed radiations
and it's spread and metastasized and allthose cancer words. And just yesterday he

came home from the hospital. They'relike, nothing else I can do before
you. You've done your best.We're sending you home to hospice. So
he called me. I'm and havebeen through this journey. His late at
night call because he knows that I'mup in the studio and I'm working,
and so he called me, andI adopted the same role that I have

(11:46):
throughout this arduous journey. He haschildren, he has grandchildren's people that love
him and care for him and thatdepend on him. And that's one of
the things that's carried him through.I have been that friendly voice of encouragement
in the suck it up, youknow that's and and and some people have
said you you got to soften.I'm like, I don't. I don't

(12:09):
know how it's to be. Youknow, I'm not gonna get down there
and go, Okay, feel sorryfor yourself. I'm gonna be the one
who pushes him to little a littlebit longer, to fight a little bit
stronger, to continue to be therebecause I know that he gets so much
from his family, and his familyis not just his blood family, all

(12:31):
those around him. So he calledme, h yesterday, late at night,
they'd sent him home. Hospice began, and he's in the final furlongs,
as a handicapper would say, AndI, you know, I gave
him. I gave him a speech, you know, suck it up.

(12:52):
You got this a little bit longernow that you're home. You're you know,
hospital, that's where people got todie. So you're at home now,
you you can you can do thisa little longer, you can stretch
it out. There's still things tolook forward to. But and then I
softened, and I said, youand I have both had this conversation.

We both believe in God, webelieve in a higher power. We believe
that energy is neither created nor destroyed, its transmographied. So there is life
after the cessation of life on thisplane, interdimensional transmogrification, heaven, whatever
you want to call it. Hebelieves that. I believe it. I

know it to be true. Ihave astral projected into into the other realms.
I am a veteran of the psychedelicjourney. I know and has John
with his strong faith, he knowstoo. He didn't call me for a

pep talk. He didn't call meto languish in his self pity. He
