Speaker 1 (00:01):
If they don't disar we will disarm them, and it'll
happen quickly and perhaps violently.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
This is the Kelly Golden Show podcast, powered by Disaster
Plus on a big failed Friday.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
But they will disarmed.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
You understand well, Graham Horseman is a low Country attorney.
But Graham, you are also a former member of the
Israeli Defense Force. I would love here coming up to
get your reaction to the peace deal you've just come across. Holiday,
a very important one for the Jewish community. But let's
start with your history with Israel and we'll get to
(00:35):
the state that we're in now coming up.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yeah, Hey, Kelly, So you know I love in Charleston,
but I served in another lifetime back in twenty seventeen.
I served in the IDF. I served in the counter
terrorism unit. We spent a lot of our time in
today in Samaria, doing a lot of arrest, doing a
lot of that sort of stuff. Came back to Chelson
a few years ago and happy to be here.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
And after so many years of unceasing war and endless danger,
today this guy are calm, The guns are silent, the
sirens are still, and the sun rises on a holy
land that is finally at peace, a land and a
region that will live God willing in peace for all eternity.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
So Graham, you've got to tell me reaction wise to
this huge news of peace. Certainly we all want peace,
but we're talking about Hamas. These are terrorists who can't
be trusted. So I imagine that you're probably a little torn,
like a lot of us are out here.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Like you mentioned, it was actually Jewish holiday yesterday. In fact,
according to the Gregorian calendar, October seventh was about nine
days ago. But to according to the Hebrew calendar, yesterday
was actually the holiday Ofttoa, which in twenty twenty three
fell on the day of October seventh. So it was
on this same holiday, Kelly, that Kamas, but not only
let it not be forgotten that hundred and in fact
(01:55):
thousands of Palestinian civilians stormed into Israel to commit atrocities
of the world kind, to kill, to murder, to rape,
and to maim and to torture, and to call their
parents back in Gaza over the phone to brag about
how many Jews they have managed to kill. On what
should have been one of the most joyous occasions in
the Jewish year. The word seem kh and Hebrew actually
(02:17):
means happiness. But it was only yesterday, after two long
and difficult years, that we were finally able to properly
celebrate and express the profound joy and gratitude that we
feel at the safe return of our living hostages, at
the leadership and diplomacy of President Trump, and at the
friendship and valued support of the many righteous people in
(02:38):
this country and around the world, the many Christians and
people of all backgrounds who recognize that Israel is truly
unique in the Middle East, and that our shared values
are caused for great friendship, and who recognize, above all,
as President Trump stated in his address to the Israeli
connested on Monday, that the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob does not abandon his people Israel. We are truly
(03:00):
living in prophetic times, Kelly. And let it be so
that the words of the Prophet Isaiah be fulfilled that
nations shall no longer lift up sword against nation, and
we pray that those words come to pass speedily in
our day. But until then, Kelly, in the meantime, we
have to stay prepared, and we have to stay ready,
because we have to temper our joy with the apprehension
(03:23):
that what we've won has been at the price of
a deal with the devil, a deal with.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Kamans Hamas has not agreed to disarm. We have Trump
this week saying you will disarm, even if it is
by violent means. And then also, we don't know what
it looks like with regards to the Palestinian state moving forward,
who controls it, what does that look like, what part
does Hamas have in that, and should they really have any.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Well, as part of this deal, Israel will soon release
almost two thousand security prisoners. Let me bring you back
to twenty eleven, when Israel secured the release from Kamas
captivity of captured idea of soldier at Gilad Shaliz. He
had been held hostage in Gaza for five years. In exchange,
(04:09):
Israel released into Gaza over one thousand prisoners of the
worst kind, including Jaja Sinwar, the architect, the mastermind of
October seventh. So it's to these people, Kelly, that governments
around the world have pledged their material support to people
that tore up the water pipes that Israel had less
(04:29):
than when they withdrew in two thousand and five to
build rockets to shoot at Israeli schools and kindergartens. It's
to them that the United Nations and the European Union
and others have pledged billions of dollars to rebuild. But
make no mistake that money will not be used to
rebuild any more than it was used to build. It
(04:50):
will be used to re arm. Instead of schools and hospitals,
They're going to use it to build terror tunnels, commas,
or by whatever name they rebrand themselves as, will en
bezel that money, and it's going to find its way
to fund Islamic militant terrorist organizations throughout the Middle East.
And how do we know this. We know this because
Hamas is not the exception. They are the rule. They
(05:13):
represent the goals, the aims, and the aspirations of the
Arabs of Gaza, who to this day, in every poll
that has ever been done, overwhelmingly support from US and
overwhelmingly support what they did on October seventh. And until
that changes, there cannot be peace. And so while I'm
happy at the return of the hostages, i am not
(05:34):
blinded by the joyous nature of this occasion into forgetting
the fundamental realities on the ground. I want to take
a step forward into October eighth, but I'm afraid that
in many ways we've taken a step back to October sixth.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Graham Horseman is a Low Country attorney. He's former Israeli
defense for US. Graham, what has been the reaction of
friends and family there in the Regent.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
One of the guys that I served with, his cousin
was one of the hostages that was released this week,
And so you know, I've been seeing on Instagram on
Facebook Stories with many friends people that I've served with
who are just ecstatic, who are exuberant at the return
of the hostage. This is something that has just been
so long overdue. There just really isn't any way to
overstay just how happy we are.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Meantime, I want to get back to this deal with
the Devil because I came across on Newsmax. Carl Higbee
is one of their powerhouse personalities, and he played some
video of a sit down he had with bib Net
and Yahoo over a year ago, and they were discussing
the fact that Israel has power, water, and internet control
(06:41):
over the region and that could be cut by some
means or measure stamping down Jumas trying to make this
piece agreement work. What do you think about that?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I think it's curious that Israel is, you know, the
only country in modern history that is expected to provide
the enemy with water, food, electricity, internet access, plumbing, water, wastewater.
I mean that's not paid for, by the way, because
if you think that the Hamas government is paying Israel
for their water usage, you know, if you think Israel
(07:13):
is out there checking the water meter then billing Hamas,
you're crazy, right, we are expected to provide free government
services to Gaza. Because Hamas is such a monumental failure
of a government. They tear up the pipes, as I said,
to create rockets, and whatever money goes into into Gaza,
whatever a goes into Gaza is immediately taken over by
(07:35):
Hamas and it's resold at a profit to these poor
Gozen people. And so it's truly incredible that Israel is
subjected to this double standard that no other country is
subject to. The energy bill for cities in the West Bank,
in Judae and Samario that Israel is paid for is Has.
(07:58):
They've been on paid millions of dollars for many, many years,
and so you can't have it both ways. You can't
say we don't want Israel, but we also want all
the benefits of living in proximity to a civilized Western nation.
That's just a it's truly, truly astounding.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
So, for a lack of a better way of describing
this grant, we have seen the videos of Hamas immediately
going back to the evil, dark, terroristic, sick ways when
they started executing Israeli friendlies. So I don't even know
if the deal was even fully inked and they went
back to their murderous ways. I know that they're already
cutting aid to the region because of this. What else
(08:40):
do you think needs to happen? What does this look
like for their truly to be peace.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Well, unfortunately, those Palestinians that you're talking about who want
peace with Israel are such a small minority that they
for all practical purposes, don't have any political power whatsoever.
And so there is a cultural change that needs to
happen in the Arab society of the region whereby their
primary goal and objective as a society, because individuals, you know,
(09:10):
are not the wants and desires of individuals. Where we're
looking at a society or secondary to what the culture
they hold is aimed in gear towards and until that
culture changes, until they are ready to accept living side
by side with Israel instead of in the place of Israel.
(09:31):
I don't see how peace can be ever achieved under
those under those circumstances. Are we just mowing the lawn,
as they say, going into Gaza, taking care of some
of mos terras, and then you know, pulling back and
then awaiting ten years and then we're going to have
to go back in again. How many times do we
(09:51):
need to go through the cycle. It happened in twenty fourteen,
it happened before then, and how many more times does
this need to happen before there's a there's it's a
true authentic cultural shift in the narrative in Palestinian society
where they are ready to live side by side with Israel,
and so the ball is in their court. We can
(10:13):
keep fighting until that happens. When they're ready, they will
have a partner for peace. But until then, we don't
have a partner for peace.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Braham, here you are in the low Country, a loving
father and husband in an area attorney, and you see
in America what is happening. You want to talk about
a cultural change and shift. This has to really be
hitting deep with you seeing this happen in America, whether
it's Marxist Mum Dannie running as the next mayor in
New York City or in Dearborn, Michigan, where we continue
(10:45):
to just see these footholds of anti Jewish pro Hamas support.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Well, Kelly, you know, the Jewish people are really the
canary in the coal mind. So everyone should be watching this,
and everyone should be afraid of what's happening with Mamdami,
what's happening in year Born, Michigan, where they're now announcing
the Islamic called a prayer five times a day on
loudspeakers throughout the city and cracking down on anyone who
happens to disagree with that. You know, America is a
(11:13):
country that it's a Christian country founded on Judeo Christian principles,
and we really need to get back to that. And
I think all Americans should be looking at this cautiously apprehensively.
Even here in Charleston, Kelly, even here in Charleston we
have protesters, We have pro Palestinian protesters who pick it,
(11:33):
who target people who have in the past been violent
right here in Charleston. They've targeted me. I've received the
breadth my home and others. And so they're not just
in New York, They're not just in Deerborn, Michigan. They're
also right here in Charleston, South Carolina.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
In the Holy City. Literally right as we move forward,
do you see this truly being a lasting piece? You
mentioned a cultural change with Arab partners. Do you think
under this president this could actually be achieved? I mean,
he is the peace president first go around and now
Trump two point zero as a commander in chief, but
it's through strength. He leads through strength.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Peace through strength scaley exactly. I mean, we saw that
with Iran, and it's refreshing to see that we're able
with projecting power across the world without getting bogged down
in endless conflicts. There's a middle ground where you can
project that power without necessarily you know, staying there for
twenty years. And it's so refreshing to see. And President
Trump has been such a blessing to the United States,
(12:32):
to Israel, and really for stability around the world because
you know, make no mistake, America's allies are watching, I mean, Korea, Taiwan,
allies around the world are watching how the United States
handles this situation with Israel, and so it's stending a
strong message to anyone who would have any thoughts of
(12:53):
attacking American supremacy around the world and attacking, you know,
or destabilizing the peace that President Trump and has been
stration have been able to secure. So whether peace is
achievable in the near term, I think that you can't
impose peace on people who do not want to make peace.
And currently the Arab society in the region does not
(13:14):
want to make peace. And it's not just with Israel.
I mean, when you look at Syria, the Druze community,
the Jews, who are an Arabic speaking minority who have
their own religion in southern Syria, they were being massacred
by the Syrian government and the Bedouin just recently over
the summer, and you know, Israel had to step in
to protect religious minorities in the region. And so you know,
(13:35):
Israel is really a force for stability in that area.
And until that the Arab societies of the Levant can
emulate hopefully, you know, the air of societies of the Gulf,
like the UAE, like others who have been amenable to
making peace with Israel and how how wonder if that
has been with you know, wonderful economic exchanges, and it's
(13:57):
truly been productive. And hopefully there's a model there with
those countries that have really eradicated political Islam in the
UAE and those countries you don't have Hamas, they have
really completely stamped out political Islam and they have created
a model, a societal model for themselves that really works.
And so until that can really spread throughout the Middle East,
(14:21):
I'm cautiously not so optimistic.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Gram horsemen. I appreciate the conversation. I know that we'll
be in touch, and we can only pray that this
piece holds and that we see a generational shift, not
just in America but for all of Israel.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
After two harrowing years and darkness and captivity, twenty courageous
hostages are returning to the glorious embrace of their families.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
And it is glorious, I'm sure to you. It doesn't
feel like it's been two years. But thank goodness, the
hostages are home.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
From your mouth to God DearS, Keilly, thank you so
much for having.
