Speaker 2 (00:08):
I always know Teresa Ramsey with look at Your Friends
of the NRA when spring is in the air, the
flowers are starting to bloom. I'm like, now is the
time Friends of the NRA's annual banquet is going to
be here before you know it. We're talking about Saturday
the twenty second in Summerville, and it's always a great time.
(00:29):
So let's talk about look at your Friends of the
NRA and what to expect coming up. Because tickets are
still available.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yes, tickets are still available. It is an amazing night
of playing some games, some silent auctions, live auctions. We
have lots of recipients there who receive grants from Friends
of ANRA. The Cuittle Pistol team will be there this year.
Stratford's Heart High School. Their JRT archery team is going
(00:56):
to be there and they will be posting the colors
for us. Also, we will have the Plummetto Gun Club's
Youth Stingers they will also be there, and a couple
other organizations. So it's great to come out and actually
get a chance to talk to these kids and see
what a difference it makes. To get this grant money
from them.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
So it's going to be coming up at the Hilton
Garden in again this year in Summerville on Saturday, kicks
off at six pm. I mentioned tickets are available. Go
to Friends of inr dot orgon type in South Carolina.
I'll get you to the event so you can get
more information. But let's talk about friends of the NRA
because you just mentioned kids and recipients. What is the
(01:35):
goal behind moneys raised?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So our goal is to support the shooting sports in
our local community. So all the money we raise stays year.
If you ever had a child who has ever been
in Boy Scouts, four H Clubs, Girl Scouts, rotc's, A
lot of that money comes from different grants organizations and
we're one of those grant organizations that donate money back
(01:58):
to the local cammunity to continue to work the effort
of safety for shooting the sport of it. The Second
Amendment just programs that keep that locally here for us.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
To teach safety to children with regards to firearms. So
that's important for people to hear, because you know, Teresa,
just like I do that people here. You know NRA,
the National Rifle Association you're either understanding or you're not.
You understand that this is an organization that stands up
for our constitution. You mentioned the Second Amendment, but it
also is an organization that wants to protect people from
(02:37):
firearms they know nothing about. There's a responsibility there and
it starts frankly, with our youth and making sure that
they understand it does.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
And you know organizations like Women on Target where women
who've never shot before but they want to be able
to start to carry you protect themselves. There's programs out
there that take women from never holding a gun ever
before to actually learing how to shoot it fully and
correctly and to protect them and their families.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, and we're in a time in our country where
there's just so much uncertainty, and that includes on our
own front porch. So let's talk about what's coming up
with the localtrat Friends of the NRA Annual Banquet here.
It's on the twenty second of March. That's Saturday, six
pm there at Hilton Garden.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
In It's a next stend up in Summerville.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
As of right now, you can grab your tickets and
Friends of NRA dot org. It is an incredibly fun
night for people who are gun enthusiasts, shooting advocates. Safety first,
of course, let's get into the nitty gritty and exciting
things that are going to be up for grabs, because
this is a world wind of an evening.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
It is. We have the gun of the year is
a beautiful Henry Lovell Action not only sensible to actually
use and stuff like that, but just a beautiful piece
to look at. We have great donations from Smart Safe
over on Charliey Road. They donated another safe this year
for That'll also have a Churchill Shop gun that goes
(04:00):
with it well as I Bill Gun and Ammo donated
a cult Ar for us this year that's absolutely exquisite
to hold. Colt Manufacturing donated a cult Python, which just
one of those guns that is so sweet to shoot,
it's absolutely amazing. Just a ton of jewelry, accessories, knives,
(04:23):
you name it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
I always wind up picking up some great stuff for
a great cause at a great price. So if you've
never been to the Low Country Friends of the NRIs banquet,
go there now. Friends OFTHNRA dot or org type in
South Carolina to get more information. And Teresa, what else
do we need to know before the event coming up, just.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
To come out and support it's a great thing. I mean,
come out and talk to the kids, talk to some
of the colleges that are going to be there, find
out where this money goes. You guys actually get to
see where it goes. We're all volunteers that do this.
None of us get paid for this, and we just
really enjoy seeing the money get back to the veterans,
the women, the youth, and the safety of our shooting support.
