16th St Press Conference

Big changes announced by the city.  16th Street Mall is now 16th St.  All our problems are solved. Money Well Spent!

Channel ninety three three and now a press conference at
the Denver Capital.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Thank you all for being here today. The City of
Denver would like to unveil the new and improved sixteenth
Street sixteenth Street.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Uh don't you mean the sixteenth Street Mall?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
No, sir, that's the thing of the past. You see,
we've spent the last four years and one hundred and
seventy five million dollars removing the mall from sixteenth Street.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
You spent one hundred and seventy five million dollars to
change the name from sixteenth Street Mall to sixteenth Street.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
No, no, no, we only spent one hundred thousand dollars
on that part. The other one hundred and seventy four
point nine million dollars we spent removing the pianos and chessboards.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
And put up a few lights.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I guess that's right. The new sixteenth Street offers a cleaner,
brighter place to get stabbed in downtown. As a matter
of fact, that might be our new slogan, But first
we got to come up with another one hundred k
for the consultants to legally use it. Listen, I know
your minds are blown, Okay, but anybody have any questions, comments, compliments.

What I can't believe this.

Why didn't the city just furlough a bunch of people.
I mean, couldn't we use these resources for the homeless?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Seriously?

Well hey one complimented at time? People listen. The message
I really want to put out there is we just
can't wait to see you at the new and improved
sixteenth Street. Shoot sixteenth Street, no mall, Nurse
