Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome back to the nerdy news and eats to know
throughout the week on Iheartrady went by cast.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Services around the world because my name's in you know,
Kevin and you're officially listening to this Monday post Awesome
Con episode What keV.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Crisis Infinite Pop. I had one question for you, Annie, Yes,
how didn't you feel?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Oh, don't feeds, diet, don't feeds dyeing, Kevin J worry.
I'll tell you about that and so much more in
today's podcast because, like it is in the title, we're
recapping what went down in Austin Con. We're talking about
Universal's Epic Universe sort of.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
The first previews people have actually.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Gotten to that, answer some of some CinemaCon news. You
might have missed, some trailers that came out late out
of the end of that, and so much more on
today's podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
A rarely jam packed earlier in the week episodembling.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
And you're like, oh crap, dared Devil's also this week,
so that's not a good sign. And that's already this
packed the show on the horizon.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Like also we are on the EVA or if you
listen to us on Monday morning today, you can watch
the Goofy movie documentary.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
That is true and we know what Kevin is watching
today is the podcast and so you know it. But
you can see everything we're gonna talk about today and
so much more by going to following us on social
Media's at infinite underscore bids on the Instagram, od x
go and give it to you. We always love putting
stuff up there like that. It's behind the goof right,
(01:40):
is what the documentary is called? Yes, which comes out?
I think today tomorrow comes out tomorrow actually or today
is tomorrow? Is this podcast recording? But if you're listening
to this, it's today. There you go or keV where
can they interact with us live when we record the
podcast or on the man of their own time too
as well.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Dot com slash if it underscore pasta watch us on
your own accord on demand episode was going at this
point five years ago. You can go back and watch
what we talk about things five years ago, which was crazy.
Watch us lab though, push that team if undscore past
is the best place to be. Watch us Lab, join
the chat and join the fun. If you want to
watch an unofficial Goofy movie documentary, I think episode four
(02:20):
of season four of Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
That too, maybe that's what caused it all. Synergy FX
is owned by Disney, so.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Exactly, this one's unofficial. It's a parody, but it's still
pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yes this is funny, but yeah, go there. We always
love interacting in the chat, like Andy Drogan with a
Nintendo mic and obviously you know Nintendo stuff, so we'll
talk about that a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Do work door the looming clodd The video game Inustry
right now was.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Is a It's a dark cloud, very very dark scary
cloud from afar U. But Kevin, we always start the
podcast properly with something we like to call what You're doing.
Where we talking about the shows and movies, been watching games,
We've been playing lives, we've been living. It's kind of
a little check in with one another and you the
people there you go and because it is Monday, Kevin,
(03:11):
you get to go first.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Good sir.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
So today this week was the last episode. I didn't
have a kid free Saturday, which is kind of cool.
I wasn't able to have ten comic Con because my
wife went to my shin dig and I had the kids.
So the trade off was she said on Saturday I'm
leaving along. I was like, oh great. She took the
kids to great Worth Lodge and there was a party
that it was invited to. They already pay for her ticket.
(03:37):
We oh yeah, yeah, go have fun, go swim around.
I've never said it was really crowded. Though she didn't
have much that good of a time, but it's pretty ticket.
It's still pretty good. Yeah, So I dated myself and
I just relaxed. Man paid a lot of assassin's creed.
I keep getting these videos about armors and like the
legendary armors and weapons, so I'm trying to find all
of them. Can't tell you the story I've done the
(03:58):
story mentioned in like three weeks.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
One day you'll get there, you know, one day you'll
get to the story. That damn story.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I keep finding these random people and getting these other
random assassin I guess rings stick out. I'm like, okay,
there's another one. Shoot. There's a lot of people to kill.
So I have no idea where I had the story.
I took a break from it. And also yesterday I
knocked out season three of Jurassic Park Chaos Theory.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
You finished it all on one weekend. Who would have thought.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
I'm saying best this series is twenty minute episodes. You
ended out, that is true, and I like Clone Wars still.
Clones were still really good. But Clone Wars had twenty three,
twenty four episode seasons. This is ten episodes, twenty two minutes.
One day, you've done.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You're good, I'll see you next year, see you next year.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
It was a good season though, this one, and I
feel like the timeline puts it. I want to say,
the first third dress part the Median.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Actually, oh really Okay, So I thought there was a
time jump. I thought it was like a five year
time jump between Camp Cretaceous and k US theory.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
But I guess not.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
I think, but it's more of a real time time
jump because Great King came out way after the world
was already So I think that's what it is. Because
in this one, the last episode takes place in I
guess in continuity with the stupid scene when they were
raptors teasing him on bikes.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Okay, okay, cool, like the same thing, like.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
It's happening up above them basically, and they're like, in
this tone of blowy that what's going up there? So
that was pretty cool and actually to watch his trail
outs in Hoodie Shaddle Force, I don't know whatever, but
the guy on this Chattel Force, he's also in Drastic World.
He was like Owen Grady's second second command. He's in
(05:44):
this season as well, which is really pretty cool. So
it kind of brings that continuity closer. There's one senior
the episode wh He's like, hey, Owen Grady, how are
you like Owen Grady because they Owen but whatever.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Like I don't need to know his last name, but okay, sure, But.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
All in all, it's still still a great season. They're
doing a great especially if you watched it since Camportations
you kind of get to know the characters and that
makes it more worthwhile watch. So there were some things
an episode of Season'm like, y'all need to get over it.
Come on, now, come on, you've been together this long.
I'm not gonna let this bike you guys apart. So
that was cool, and I'm gonna ask you, have you
(06:18):
still been watching Camforntations?
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah, so I was. I was waiting, but I am
on the last episode of season three. Uh, and it
is wild because and we could spoil this because this
one's older, and that didn't just come out and Kevin
binged it all. But uh, it's like episode seven because
usually like season one and two at eight episodes, and
three is ten, Like whoa wait a second, Like it
(06:39):
seems like we're wrapping things up, but all of a
sudden there's two score Pius Rexes or whatever, and they're like,
that doesn't make sense at all.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
That's not a finale.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
And then that ends. They're like, what are we gonna
do now? At this point, you're like, these kids can
get off this damn island. They have a boat, but
they choose not to get off this island. And then
just because I was asking where it lined up, it
lines up with Fallen Kingdoms. Like opening scene, I'm like, hell, yeah,
this is really dope.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
It's really cool, and it timed out I thought I
took earlier. I'm not saying that I love Durassic World.
Let me wrong. Guess World is actually a pretty good movie.
Fallen Kingdom in dominions just like just Hodge positive action
with matosors or whatever made both of both made a
billion dollars, so who am I to be against them?
But it almost makes it a more worthwhile watch.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Now a little bit not really I'd rather watch Camp
Rotations right now still than that those movies.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
But that's okay because.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Because my my ass is like, oh man, all this
stuff is happening, and like obviously you know in Jurassic
World Fallen Kingdom, the island has a volcanic eruption. You're like, oh,
it's like it does make me want to rewatch those movies.
You are right, and just like they definitely didn't have
any inclusion of easter ex at all reference to Camp Gritaces,
but did Camp Gritations kind of retroactively make it an
(07:57):
easter egg or something.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Because like literally Cretaceous When the following Kingdom Alex, this
is happening like back in the doc to the rights
where they are, but you never see like yeah, basically,
but I do like it's funny when Dassic World I
ever won like TV and you just kind of pop
it on. I like watching wow right now on the
other side of the forest, some kids going through it
and they don't know, nobody.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Don't care, they don't even care at all.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Oh yeah, but other than that, also, uh, it's actually
pretty cool something I had to had to do, something
we can have to have before we actually lount A
like a pilot show on my radio station, and I
had like basically my hands all over the show, like
I'm producer of that show, so I got to build
it from the ground up with the talent our name Tenise.
That was pretty cool to hear that launch this morning.
I was like, oh wow, this is great.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I did that. I have my name on that.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
That's all I've been doing this week about you, buddy.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Oh yes, obviously gonna talk about austinme conn in a
little bit. But besides awesome, con your boy has been
getting real into GM mode on w W two K
because I was like, I need something to do the
dabble because I'm waiting on the last of us till
the show comes out next week to start that up again,
and h GM mode pretty fun when you're just like,
I don't care and I'm gonna make I think my
(09:08):
main person I've kind of been rooting for is THEA
Haul from n XT. I'm like, hey, you know what,
we're making a superstar baby. You're gonna go all the
way Women's champ right here.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Stick with me, You're gonna go to the top.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
I'll take you places.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Gunther has been my men's champion for a while, no
one has been able to beat him.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
I don't know why, but yeah, that's been really fun.
There isn't online mode, so Kevin and I technically could
play against one another. The unfortunate thing is anything online
with PlayStation need that good old PlayStation Plus. And I
have never bought in PlayStation Plus yet since owning the PlayStation,
so I'm not gonna do that anytime soon.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I had a trial, but it lapsed months ago.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
It is weird too, cause, like I know, Call of
Duty is Verdance. The Verdance mode came back to war
Zone last this past weekend, and I was dabbling that
on Xbox just like, oh yeah, like x Like for
some reason, x Fox doesn't care at all when it's
like Verdansk or Fortnite. They just whatever, do whatever you want.
You don't need a subscription, We don't care, just mean,
(10:12):
just whatever you want. And then this was funny. I
did boot up Harry Harry Potter Legacy, Yeah, Harry Potter
Legacy over the weekend, just like what's happening here? My
last save was March twenty first, twenty twenty two. I
was like, well, let's see what happens. And it's funny
(10:32):
just trying to like be in a random scenario, had
no idea where what I was doing, where I was going,
just like, Okay, what am I gonna do? I know right?
Trigger was probably attack and then there's these butterflies that
you have to like attract to like this little gate
to make it work. And I figured it out for
a little bit or hogwarts, like it's so sorry, that's
what it is.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
It's always fun booting up those old old school saves
that you haven't played years, and like what was I doing?
Speaker 1 (10:56):
I had a clue, like why did I pick this
outfit all of us? Like I have no context of
like this is the style I was going for, So
I don't know, might dabbling that a little bit because
I realized, like I'm only like a third through the
game in this, like I have so much more stuff
to do in this and then on top of that
more and I did finish the residence. I think it
(11:16):
is well worth the watch looking for a murder mystery.
And we did watch Y two K, that horror movie
from a twenty four that happened so Kyle Mooney was
the director.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
It actually is pretty good.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
If you were a child of the nineties grew up
during the nineties at all, I think you'll appreciate a
lot more. And it's funny because I'm a year older
than Mara. She were like nine months or whatever. But
you can tell the like divide of like I know
all these songs and everything because I was like seven
by the time two thousand happened, she was six. That
like cognitive thing where you start remembering things more. And
(11:50):
I was pretty good. Russell from Deadpool two is in
It's He's like the comedic heartbeat of it. Rachel Zegler
was pretty good, and overall it definitely is like a
good streaming movie and just have a good time with it.
I do love that we're in an era of horror
comedy movies, where like we can be funny but also
(12:11):
there's some scariness to it, but it's mostly a comedy
still at the same time, let's start that, Actually, what
do you say, keV, Sorry I didn't hear you there.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
How was the Residence? I kind of wanted to start
that too.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
The Residents is good. It is wild to think as
a mild spoiler, but Andre Brower was actually supposed to
be John Carlo Esposito's character. Huh yeah, and you're like, oh, man,
he'd have been so good at this and this would
have like kept him like blowing up obviously after being
Captain Holt and everything, but really good up until really
(12:43):
the final episode you're like, whoo, who's done it? Because
they really kind of keep you on your feet with that.
I do hope it gets the season two. I know
Netflix ratings wise, I don't know, because I looked at
an article.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
I was like, oh, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Well, I'm like, it's in the top ten on the mat.
I know Netflix weighs the top ten all the time.
But if it does, I wouldn't mind seeing that character
be put forth in other things. If you like Knives Out,
you'll like The Residents. That's why I kind of that's
my question.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
If The Knives Out as Beau Knives I was always
fun to figure out who actually did it in the movie.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
I think it's it's a it's a less Zany Knives
Out and glass Onion too.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, because we were going to watch that on Friday,
but I got home late from work. My wife want
to watch The Thickets? Is it? I can't. I came
in on that on this is pretty funny, but oh
sho turned off the kids room.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Uh and then more than I as of this today,
have started The Crown.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
So we were watching The Crown right now.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Oh God, bless you. My wife watched that, like I can't.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
We got to the point where like we're watching is
it Cake right now? Like we need to watch.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Something that has some substance in it.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
I know The Crown isn't like completely one hundred percent accurate,
but it was like, at least we'll have some base knowledge,
you know.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
And I don't be interested, but I would love the
American equivalent of The Crown. But about like the Founding Fathers.
I think that'd be a really.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
But not a PBS, Like it's gotta be on a
Netflix or a Max or something like that.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
You know, I went on Netflix. I don't want one history.
I want a little fluff to make.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
That you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Well, that's that's otherwise known as Hamilton Kevin.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
So because I want hamp Pop about the singings, when
I went, okay.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Probably you want Hamilton in the movie. No singing though, okay,
no singing. It's all serious, all serious, no, no laugh
at the time. Okay, cool, but that's what I mean.
No Skoylars sisters at all. But that's what we've been doing. Obviously,
let us know what you've been doing at IF and
Underscore Pods. But Kevin, let's get on into it because
it is time.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
It's time.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
And first things first, realist, I went to awesome conn
and I survived once again.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Thank you some con for yes.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
So in case you didn't know what ausme Con is,
it is essentially a comic con in DC. It is
I think our main one that are the biggest one
we have in the area. I know Baltimore has a
couple of things, and Richmond has Galaxy Con. The Virginia
Beach has some things too. Yeah, and there's small ones
like Novacon, there's Blurred Con.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
But this is the main event one.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
You know. We're taking over the Walter Ee Convention Center
in DC, right off Mount Vernon Metro, which came.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
In clutch this weekend.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Let me tell you, Kevin, I love living in Arlington
because it was a twelve dollars uber home and it
was a four dollars metro right into the Walter you
couldvention Center.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
So if you're not a frequent uber around the DC
metro area. A twelve dollars uber is rare.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
That is rare. That's like one block usually most of
the time.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
But we lucked out and it worked and it was like, hell, yeah,
there is the benefit of staying here. You know, it
might not be the best living conditions, but you know,
real close, real close.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Can't be that price.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Man can't beat it.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
But yeah, So usually it's three days Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
This year. The main guests this year was a lot
of the Lord of the Rings cast, Gimli, Legolas, liv
Tyler was there, Sean Assen, there was a good majority
of the cast of Goonies, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
and then Simon Pegg and Nick Frost from Seawan of
(16:29):
the Dead and the Cordnetto trilogy.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Essentially Hot Fuzz.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
You've seen Hot Fuzz, Okay, good thank thank goodness. But yeah,
and obviously, I mean we've talked about it before, but
just for any newbies, I don't really know what it is,
and I've always wanted to go.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
The main thing is the show floor.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
It's where there's a lot of vendors, there's a lot
of panels that are in a separate area. The meet
and greets with celebrities doing photos. You know, last year,
brother John and I did Hayden Christensen, which, oddly enough,
More and I went on Friday, uh this year and
we met our little our pr contact and she's like, oh,
you must be more. Uh, I feel so bad for you.
(17:10):
I'm like what She's like, Yeah, I actually listen to
your guys. You're like, oh, no, no.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
But watch your piece and q's, Kevin, watch your p's
and q's.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Yeah. I tried to because I realized, actually, I'm gonna
take this two three weeks ago. I realized my wife
she gets up before me. I got a bad five
thirty kids before I came downstairs Tuesday morning.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Less.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
But you've listened to us like no, oh no, I'm.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Like, did I say did I say something wrong?
Speaker 5 (17:36):
I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yeah, So that was really dope. We got there obviously
as pressed. We got to go in. We went in
the same time as everyone else. If you're looking like
for like a less or an easier time to go,
I think Fridays are the way to go, just because
everyone's at work still and getting off and you know
they're all committing to going to the conventions for the day,
(17:57):
but more and I went on a Friday and it
was nice. You could take your time with certain vendors.
You can be a little like, oh, I'm want to
look through certain cards. Your boy did uh this weekend
buy some things. I bought a Pokemon card Pikachu. The
main thing is this is Pikachu from a movie promo
card from the first movie, and Kevin is a graded nine.
(18:21):
Thank you car Cartridge's Galore for doing that, Kevin. Price
is right, Roles, how much do you think this card
costs me.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Convention? I want to say, dude.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
And mind you you have this note. Mora was with
me when I bought this.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
This also might help you realize how much cost a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
You're wrong? Actually twenty five bucks, Kevin?
Speaker 1 (18:50):
So who he got to you even though he bought
the other three cards online door?
Speaker 4 (18:55):
About that? What not? Really? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:00):
My main thing is I was looking for like retro
Pokemon cards. I kind of found a thing that was
a little easier to find. But if you're looking for art,
you're looking for posters, you're looking for three D printed
things or Pokemon cards or they had Pokemon blue in
a box. I couldn't afford it, but it was nice
to look at. You know, I've seen it in a while.
You can get all that in the vendors and underneath
(19:21):
the show floor they have side rooms where it is
paint miniatures for like dungeons and dragons. You can play
tabletop games like that. You can try out new board games,
which was really cool. So that was Friday more ahead
a blast because she have to wait in an eight
hour line, so so that worked out above all else.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
And she really loves the like the jeweler.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
The jewelry people like make earreens or stuff that are
a little nerdy and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah, coats that we always see, like the guys be
like the really old school trench culture.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
They didn't have any of this year.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
I don't know, but usually they are there. You're right
where it's like, oh, I want to look like an assassin,
an assassino right after assassin's agreed. But usually get like
Max Eric's son notoriously gets weapons every time they go
fake weapon prop weapons. They're not real. Oh, you can
buy a little weapon, real weapons, but I don't think
(20:13):
you buy them there. I think you have to like
oh and then get the real one later.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Any weapons the weapon if you swing hard enough.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Well, Max, all right, so here's the thing. I will
cut to Saturday. Saturday, meet up Eric at the convention.
It was great because we got the right when it opens,
so everyone's super excited and Max once. When we get there,
Max one's storm Breaker, which is Thor's second hammer. The
battle acts essentially, you're like, all right, cool, try.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
To find it for you.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
First vendor receive cells storm Breaker. Max grabs it, start swinging,
start swinging aimlessly, hitting people left and right. Well that's
why we didn't want to give it to you now.
But his name of the game when you go to
one of these conventions is you kind of price match
it to an agree because this guy, well he was
offering eighty bucks for it.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Found another one he was doing forty bucks for it.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Abouc quality and all that good stuff. Then we found
out halfway through this convention, Max was more into one
Piece than Marvel nowadays, so we're looking for one piece
stuff instead.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Oh wow, one piece. He jumped several levels in neurdery
from Marvel to anime.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Well, here's the fun thing. Was kept seeing a lot
of and this awesome cause great for like everybody of
all ages and families, because literally all types of people there,
kids that are around Max's height, and they're all like
looking up and they're like, look, it's blah blah blah.
For one Piece, I'm like, well, man, Max is a
man of the people over here.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
He knows he's got his finger on the pulse. I
know one character in One Piece, Loofy, Try Loofy. I'll
never watch it. I'm just that's not my kind of anime.
I'm kind of getting into Mecca anime. But I'm keeping.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
On, keep down. We'll talk about that. We'll talk about that.
It is the Ords, that's what does it. That's exactly.
But eventually got Max and Swords. Then they left, just
because if you have a kid, it's a lot of steps.
I walked sixteen thousand steps on Saturday alone, and.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
That's mainly in and out of just the vendor lines.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Essentially, that's a Disney trip man that Hey, I'm preparing, baby,
I'm trying. But then I hung out for an hour.
I was I gonna sign up to do Intro to
Dungeons and Dragons just to have it, just to know
what was going on. But when Max and Eric left
it was twelve o'clock and that wasn't until four o'clock,
and I was like, I can't Like, I love it,
(22:29):
but I can't be here for three hours because I'm
gonna be buying things I don't need to be buying.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
How was the cosplay game there?
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Really good?
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Actually? My favorite one was someone dressed up as like
they were a mix between Charizard and Merriwak to a
agree but also Barbarian. It was like really cool and
like they're really bulky of a costume, so like if
you saw them, you had to give them like the
space just walk around, but really cool. Obviously in like costplay,
(22:58):
I almost was gonna cost was going to cost play
Kevin a star Lord, but did not get the helmet
because I tested out the costume on Friday and costume
is actually pretty decent for Party city quality.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
But it's all good. We have it for any time
we want to.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
But my favorite thing is because I took the Metro
there on Saturday and back was seeing who on the
Metro was in cosplay. This family was dressed up as
Team Rocket and Score Bunny and for Rokie, I think
it's the other newer one the frog Pokemon.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
I was like, that's cool, that's just fun, like to
go with the fan.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
But if you're going by yourself on the and the
costume Ozma Kon, you just gotta make sure you're with
your people, you know. Now with all the people going
to Caps games instead.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
I remember when I went.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
What year was that, nineteen eight nineteen?
Speaker 3 (23:47):
I think, yeah, I wore a particular jacket from Star Wars,
and every I thought I was Finn and I had
hair at the time. I took like fifteen picture of
people to fit I look like Fin. I'm like, I
just took let's put the jacket on.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
That's all it takes. You need a jacket. You're good
to go, baby, people take your photo. We were look
like Eric and I got stuck behind a batman that
everyone wanted to take their photos of while we were
like walking one of the lot, like one through one
of the aisles, and we're like we were trying to
avoid them, but the aisle was just so short we
couldn't get around them, so we had to just wait.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Every time.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
This batman took like ten photos until we got away
from him.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Also shout out to those people to do that though,
because like when you go to say Times Square or
Hollywood Boulevard, it's the same thing. They want money.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
You guys do to you were just friendly and there's
people making friends.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
I saw a lot of people of Oh, I forgot
what this is, like hell of a Boss. I think
it's the hell of a hotel or something like that.
Obviously there's a lot of normal like Star Wars and
superhero cosplayers. But then the weirdest one. I don't know
what it was, but it's probably from my anime. This
lady was half lady, half serpent, and she took up
(25:02):
like half She was like taking up a good chunk
of the floor, scrawling around like a snake. I was like,
I don't know what this is, but I'm glad you
get to be that this weekend?
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Is that har I think it does somebody turn into
a snake at some point.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
I don't know, Kevin, I don't know. I didn't know
what it was. It scared me a little.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Bit, but yeah, awesome.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Cohn overall is great. I think there's this one.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
There's always something for everybody, and if you're always wanted
to go, go, even if it's not Awesome Con. There's
like we said, Blurred Con, there's Novacan. Those are good
ones to just kind of get your feet wet and
then go to Awesome Con too with some friends going.
My friends even better because like you, guys can do
a group costume or tackle things together. If someone wait
in line get food while someone's getting in line for
(25:45):
a meat and greet or something like that.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
By the way, I'm just curious about how much stommaker
I have costs now m hm, the Marble Legends one
that makes all the noises, all that kind of stuff.
It was currently one sale on eBay for five and.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
I don't know about that, Kevin, I don't know. It
might it might be time to sell that.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yeah, what do I wait is to go something.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Wait till the next Avenders movie? Say which one is
he gonna rock?
Speaker 4 (26:10):
That's all I'll say.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
But Kevin, that's why happened in an awesome coln. But let's
talk about kind of the main news of this weekend
is we're not to getting Nintendo switches soon, most likely
thanks to these tariffs.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
I hate when what I do for a living crosses
into what we talk about for fun.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
So in case you missed, it. I know last week's episode,
we're all high and excited for Nintendo switch To and
contemplating where we're gonna pre order one this week. Well,
you ain't got pre order one this upcoming week because
thanks to the tariffs that.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Were imposed by this presidency that going affects as.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Of yesterday, switch To pre orders will not be happening
in the US on April ninth. They're halted for now
because Nintendo based in Japan and its products made in Vietnam.
As of right now, we have a large amount of
tear still have to buy aka that console and ain't
(27:16):
gonna be four fifty four ninety nine when you buy it.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
It's gonna be a lot more expensive.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah, it when it comes to what I do at
a news radio station. Economy isn't my isn't my strong
point to say. But at the same time, this is
maybe one of the most fumbles of fumbles I've ever
seen in my life.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Yeah, and we're not talking and obviously this isn't on
Nintendo's part. It's really we gotta adjust it because like
we got to do this from a business side, it
makes sense for them, but it really sucks. Is it's
really the consumers us aka the people yeah that that
are hurt by this the most. And I know a
large skim of things we talk about, stupid funds, silly things,
(28:00):
is in retrospect, everything else nothing, But it does think
because you know, Nintendo said we're still releasing at June fifth,
but hey, you asked, just get ready because it's gonna
be a lot more expensive. I assume probably at least
one hundred dollars more than what they advertised.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
It's a sensem of a long problem because even though
even though a lot of them games are quote unquote
like for Insto Xbox micros office American company Xbox is
made in China, video games are mostly manufactured and animated overseas.
They didn't be programmed in programmed here. But when it
(28:39):
comes to like the animated game, a lot of stuff
has done overseas, a lot of the discs are made overseas,
all systems are made overseas. So this is just made
the price of video gaming go from already pretty expensive
to even more expensive.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
And the main thing is like like kind of disruder
what you said is Nintendo is the main victim of
it right now, But you're right, it is PlayStation eventually
when BZ, when Intergalactic comes out, that's you know, the
one we're looking forward to down the pipeline. That's gonna
be a lot more expensive already on top of what
you know, Nintendo kind of set for that eighty dollars
(29:12):
game pricing. Now it's gonna be well, hey, we also
got to put we got by the cartridge, we got
to get the software on the actual game, and all
that stuff. It's gonna have a ripple effect and it'll
be interest see what happens with the video game industry,
entertainment industry overall as well too because movies and all
that good stuff too.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
But just be prepared.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
April ninth, you will not be able to pre order
a Nintendo Switch to UH and might need to save
a lot more if you want to get it June fifth.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
And also because if you are a PC gamer, get
your stuff now, because I don't know what's going to
happen with like the graphics cards and a lot of
the things that are literally literally I guess the minerals
we get from other countries to make a lot of
the stuff that's put in computers. All that stuff is
(30:03):
going to make the cost of everything skyrocket. So if
you're a piece of gamer, if you've been thinking about
it on all about it for a while, doing now
do it now now?
Speaker 5 (30:11):
People please, I.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Don't know, man, I really really don't know.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
But yeah, I mean overall, I just want to talk
about that. I know that we briefly touched on the
politics of it all, but it will be interesting just
to see the next couple of months how real real
life stuff kind of affects like stuff now. Like even Mora,
she was gonna buy a dress for a wedding, but
she found out the dress company she's gonna buy it
(30:38):
from is in China, so she's like, well, I'm probably
gonna buy it now, just in case it goes up
in price on Amazon accidentally or something like that. So
kind of be mindful of the things, these things like a
Sony TV versus what, I don't know, Samsung are I
don't know which ones of us Brandon and all that
good stuff.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
But those type of things will matter.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
You don't realize it, but it will when you go
to Target and are looking for a TV or looking
for a different type of vacuum or something like that.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I don't think they make TVs in America anymore.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
You talk to me, you tell me LG is none,
and I.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Think Samsung is North South Korea. I think Visio.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
You can get Visio TV.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
It's California, so Visios for the wind maybe. But let's
switch on over from that type of news. Do some
fun news, Kevin, I throw it away.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
I want to talk about.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Because kind of recap some CinemaCon news tidbits we missed
because it just happened on Thursday and Friday. We did
get a five minute Superman clip which showed a scene
from the movie has been getting taken down a lot.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
So I'm not We're not gonna.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Put it on the video, but it was cool to
kind of get some context to what happens to that
Crypto scene with Superman and what happens immediately after that,
which was in that scene when Crypto is just a
fun loving dog, not a super dog, just a fun loving.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Dog that upset about that Crypto scene. Where's your soul?
Where's the good boy? Wanted to be a good boy? Yeah,
good boy?
Speaker 1 (32:08):
And we did see Alan Tudic will be voicing one
of the robots that are in the Fortress of Solitude
two as well. And then they played the normal track,
which is cool. I think if anything makes it look
like Superman's go in the right direction. I know we
have from three months till it comes out, but still
excited overall. Kevin, any update or how you feel about
(32:30):
the movie right now?
Speaker 3 (32:32):
I think from this version, it looks like it's going
to be more a lot more Christopher Christopher Reeve than then. Uh,
I can't remember his name, Henry Henry Cavell. We already
kind of knew that, but I just feel like it
is even more heavy on that that old old age,
old age Superman who was just you know, positive, positive, positive.
(32:56):
I mean, I'm just still looking forward to it, and
I know I still have I'll have a good time
with it. But there is a set of people just
want to this move no matter what they hate it.
Let them, let them have their fun in their own
dark corner the internet. Don't even don't even engage with them.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I think it is cool because like the clips showed that,
like Superman was hurt and they used like a sun
gun telescope thing to heal him, and he was greating
through like pain, like he was like going through pain.
I was like, oh, it's cool to humanize him a
little bit, not just like I'm ready to go, let's go,
I'm immortal.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
People will complain about that. But if you watch was
it Man of Steel Baby for BBS? One of those movies.
I think it's BBS, he took it. He took a
nuclear bomb to the space and then when a sun
shotel to me healed. Why are you? This is not
news what happened Superman?
Speaker 1 (33:46):
But yeah, it'll be interesting. If anything, this will be
the closest we get to a comics based Superman more
than a movie related Superman. But not to be outdone,
Fantastic four did also release a new trailer, even though
it really wasn't because the one clip they included it
did reveal a lot of things that are gonna happen, Kevin,
(34:06):
because thanks to this new in quotations trailer, who is
what in this movie?
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Now?
Speaker 3 (34:16):
So what you're referencing? But I did see we did
get to see an image of Silver Surfer.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Oh okay, all right, yeah that too. I forgot about that.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
You're right, So that's what I was thinking about.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
I was talking about.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Two storms pregnant, So that was my thing.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
That was that that that is crazy and that also
leads into more of the the mutant stuff they want
to do soon because technically Franken Riches is a mutant,
it's more his powers technically, but also frank and Richards
is basically a very overpowered mutant, very overpowered.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Me so and pretty much while we're why I'm mentioning
this is in the first trailer, they kind of did
their best to hide uh, Vanessa Kirby having a in
movie baby bump, and in this one they said, effet,
here's the baby bump.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
We don't care anymore, jeez, Priggers.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, but that's just really cool, be interesting to see
how all that works with you know, like you have said,
mutants and being in different multi versus and and all
this stuff, the Young Avengers and future stuff like that,
just that they're already setting up. Hey, there's future, a
future of fantastic forces, not just these four people.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
So because I actually I perused a few videos last
night trying to remember the story to Secret Wars and
all that stuff, and I feel like, somehow, some way,
Doom is gonna be the one to speak at Actice
in this movie, and that's going to show him, how
show us how strong he is, and I think that
(35:41):
that that'll be kind of like the the the the
thing you think is Fanel's beating up the haulk basically, yeah,
in Finny War. That's why I feel like it's gonna.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Happen, like just to put in perspective a little bit, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Yeah, because in the comic books, the way they showed
it is that Thannels walks up to Doom, and Doom
if he has a fenny goal with Channel says no,
and Dune literally snatches his skeleton out of his body,
and it's like, oh, this guy's.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Real, Nicole, it's legitd Now, all right, Okay.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
He's not playing around.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Yeah, I'm excited. I think this July is gonna be
a fun This summer is gonna be a fun movie
summer because we, like we've kind of talked about there's
like a movie every week, like starting with Thunderbolts like
through August.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Really like, even if it's not a great movie, it's.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Something to actually watch. Which we'll talk about one of
those trailers in a little bit. Yeah, Shatow Force Kevin
exactly that one. But I do think whether you are
Marvel or DC or tired of superhero movies in general.
I think these superhero movies this summer will kind of
make you hopefully re like superhero movies again and that
(36:48):
kind of start back at square one with Fantastic Four
and Superman.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Do it agree?
Speaker 3 (36:52):
But all you can start with the DC universes. I
don't want. I don't want, but I feel like James
Gunn is going to focus too much on the obscure,
just hit the hit the easy layups.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Well, we did find out that, you know, Nathan Fillion's
guy Gardner is going to be in The Lantern Show,
so like that is something. I hope he's the dead body, Like, okay,
that's how we get the Ring obviously, but like this
is cool. I think, you know, James Gunn does do
that obscure stuff, but I think he backs up the
obscure stuff because like I didn't know who Nabula was
until Guardians of the Galaxy like or any of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
That's what I'm saying, because like it took until the
second phase, second Face two, Phase three, Phase two, after
Captain America to get to the Guardians. It gets gotta
kind of the the the obscure space stuff with Marble
where I feel like James Gunn is doing it right
after Superman. Like, no, Batman, Let's go hit layup, go
your greatest stuff.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
And we'll see. Well, I mean, obviously Superman will set
the pace of everything, really because I know Creature Camarandos
technically started the DCU, but it's it's Superman. It really
is gonna set it off in and like jab Perry
said in gun we trust, uh we trust. But Kevin,
that wasn't the only thing that came out at the
Ennisonemaconnie have.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Two trailers we're gonna talk about.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
So let's head on over to Reaction Theater and talk
about in the first one up tron Aries, which Kevin,
how excited are you for tront Aris.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Again? More than excuse movie?
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Okay, all right, well, hey it could be good.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
I don't know, it could be I didn't like Toronto Legacy,
but it could be good.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
I will say so. Tront arias Neutron movie Jared Leto's
main character, coming out October tenth, twenty twenty five. They
have the potential to put an overlay on the Tron
ride based on how this movie does in October, So.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
You're absolutely ready could do that. I don't know how well, well,
I've seen Trilli yet, but they could They totally could
do that.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
All right, Well, here we go.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
On the count of three, you can hit play one, A, two,
three to twelve, acknowledging dispatch already in pursue. Oh lord,
oh and just like that dead.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
Tres so mean. I'm looking for something.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Something I do not understand this October. It's right October.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
I don't remember what this is.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
But oh, that's that girl, that lady up, there's that
giant thing from John World. No way, I'll fly cli
having Peter oh see died.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Oh, because there's no going back the chair.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
That of the bad Guy again.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven. Kevin, I got cyberpunk vibes from
that music the whole time. I know it's nine inch Nails,
but like, this is more like a cyberpunk trailer than
cyberpunk ish.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
But Kevin, I've seen it. I saw this trailer before.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
What did you think of the trailer your first time
watching it?
Speaker 4 (40:41):
Really trailer?
Speaker 3 (40:43):
Actually, I had no interest in this movie, and I'm like, Okay,
you're bringing the Vinta digital ward in the real world. Maybe
that's something I kind of want to see, because I
remember at the Tronto Legacy, the lady that was in
the game the whole time came out to the world.
It was like, oh, I'm free, So maybe that's that's
what I jumped.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
I'm surprised do you even remember Toronto, because I don't
remember any of it at all, and that was like
fourteen years ago. Almost the only.
Speaker 3 (41:05):
Reason I remember it because I remember to my nephew
to see that he was probably like still maybe ten
or twelve, and we made fun of the dumb face
she made when she experienced to win her face for
like an hour after the movie, which is like we
just dogged her for like an hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
I think this trailer would have done really well in
theaters if it just surprise dropped in theaters and you
not knowing what it is until the tron Bike releases
the like laser trail behind it. I do think like
this is cool. I think it is dizzy, you know,
trying to make We've talked about Jerry let has been
attached it for a while, trying to make Tronta a
(41:43):
thing again because it really just hasn't had the impact
that we think it had. Obviously has a ride so
it has some impact. But to me, it is not
like a benchmark Disney like we Got Tron. You know,
it's not a Star Wars or Marvel.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
It's a cult classic. It's the wrong thing. Cult classic classic.
I mean Clerk is a cult classic movie. I love
Going up lest Dragon. That's a cult classic. The cult
means it's like not widespread famous. It's not like fair
People's Day Off stuff like that. This is a movie that,
like when it came out, like what was like the
Link seventies early eighties oversional what came out, it really
(42:22):
got reached a lot of people, a certain sect of
people in the world, and that was it and they
loved it. But that doesn't.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Mean made And JB. Perry in the chat says, look
at Willow Willow the same thing too, Like I know
nothing I knew of Willow, but then I watched the
show and it was great, and then it didn't get renewed,
like I canceled. But I think this will be interesting
just to see, like if it is coming out in October,
like what is it competing against, because I think if
it is, if there are other movies coming out around,
(42:51):
then obviously movie schedules changed all the time how it
does at the box office in twenty twenty five, because like,
people younger than us have no idea what Tron is,
you know, like or like that are in there, like
early to mid twenties don't know what Tron is.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
So unless you are a like us, a Disney Parks freaky,
have no idea what Tron is. The only reason you
know what t is because the Tron ride at Disney World.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
And you're like, I don't know what this is, but
it's a cool ride, cool ride.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
I want a more cycle and I do flips on
this is great.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
Yeah, And I know in the chat they said excited
for daft Punk. Daft Punk won't be in this one.
It's nine inch nails, so to expect.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Them to be in it.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
It is wild too, because Jared Letto was a side
character in Tron Legacy, with which is in the daft
Punk scene, And now is he the same character?
Speaker 4 (43:38):
Is he a different character?
Speaker 1 (43:39):
We'll find out.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Also, like I said, are releasing interesting because ten ten
twenty five is usually spooky movie. See, so this is
kind of counterprogramming for that entire part of the year.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Hey, it's a little spooky, little laser beams in real life.
A little bit of the Pixels movie Slash meets Independence date,
the same thing as what the mins are going.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
For another cult classic. People hate that way, but this
believe it was really funny.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
I'll watch it. Question if it's on TV, I'll watch it,
you know.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Yeah, but there's no Pixels too.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
But Kevin, let's switch from this trailer to another trailer
something we thought.
Speaker 4 (44:14):
Would never get made again.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
The first trailer really a teaser trailer. It's like a
minute long for the Naked gun. Kevin, no explanations on
what it is. Let's just watch it, Okay, let's do
it all right? One, two, three, I might throw off
my lap, he says, Kevin, written all over.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Bit Hey, little girl, stop, what do you want?
Speaker 5 (44:51):
Little one?
Speaker 1 (44:55):
You're ass?
Speaker 5 (45:06):
Who are you?
Speaker 3 (45:08):
Frank Dreben?
Speaker 5 (45:09):
Please squad the new version.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
Yep, yeah, Aliam Lison to do that.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
Daddy, it's me love you, hey dad.
Speaker 5 (45:20):
Miss.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Yep. This movie's happening in August. First, we got movie
every week through August.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Kevin, Oh my.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Gosh, I was so happy. This to me the other day.
I knew it was coming. I didn't know what time
was going to happen. I was actually in a meeting
when it happened, and I excuse myself for a second
to go watch it, honestly.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
Like I ain't need a minute.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
I'm good.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
I gotta get this done.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
But yeah, yeah, Kevin, now before we talk in have
you seen any other naked gun movies?
Speaker 3 (45:58):
I have seen all three of those movies of times,
hundred good times.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
I think I've seen him as a kid too, and
this definitely has me interested in seeing them all. I
think they're on Paramount Plus right now. But Kevin, how
hyped are you now for this movie? Just based alone
on this first trailer?
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Uh, just this one trailer alone, the dry humor up
because this was this, This was like it talks happened
for a while Frank last five or six, seven years,
and the question was always like, who's going to play
Frank Dremond because Leslie Nielsen has such a dry humor
to him, because he was he was before like one
of those classically trained Julliard style actors that has happened
(46:36):
to start doing comedy and it's real deadpan style, and
I was like, I don't know who can do it.
For a while, I said, I'm I'm Steve Carrell, but
let's but Neeson. Liam said, let's meam Neeson. What's the
perfect perfect choice for this because this just looks like
him being Liam Neeson and Kevin.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
I want to tell you this, as a kid that
grew up, I didn't really know what these movies were
until I was like twelve or something was on TV.
I always confused Liam Niesen for Leslie Nielsen. So this
works perfectly for me because it's still like, that's what
this movie would do, is capitalize on kids not confusing
the actors' names like that.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
And if you haven't seen these movies, these movies are
basically kind of like because Make a Gun used to
used to be a TV show in the seventies or eighties,
make a Gun from the Files of the Police Squad,
and then the show was canceled and he made the
movie after instead, and the movies were very successful. It's
basically a spoof on copproceduals. That's all it really is.
And it is from there is where the comedy builds.
(47:37):
Like there's a scene in the first movie where Frank
Dreben is given a comment at this conference and then
he goes into the bathroom and turn to Mica Off
and you hear him peeking. It's just funny stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Yeah, it is like if you've seen Austin Powers. It
is that, but like even more deadpan, a little more
us centralized humor. I mean it's less James Bondi and
more like copprocedure.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
Like keV just said.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
Yeah, there's not anything that's like, you know, overly, I
don't know, sexual growth. It's just dumb stuff. Like there's
another scene where Frank dremon is paying in the format
for information and then when a guy asked me why
it wants information, Frank says, I'm not gonna tell you that.
Then the formant pays him for information. So just passing
to save twenty dollar bill back and forth.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
Yeah, Like, I think this could be really great. Akiva
from Lonely Island is the director and the writer of
the film, so like it is going to be on
that type of comedy. Just the teaser trail alone, I
think it is great, and I think, uh, it's got
good it's got good bones hopefully, so we we can
only hope it does well.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Yeah, if you only listen to on the podcasts, the
end of this trailer is Liam Neeson talking to his
daddy Leslie Nielsen, Frank Dreben Junior, Revan Senior. They want
us to do a good job. And then there's a
wide shot of basically an entire wing of the police
squad headquarters where their live sons can talk to the
pictures of their dead fathers, and it pants to the
(49:01):
end of it the picture of O. J. Simpson. O J.
Simpson was in the original three movies, just before all
the stuff he went through, obviously, and the pants at
this one cop saying, Nah, I'm not gonna cry.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
No, we're good. That's okay, We're good. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:15):
August first is when this comes out, and that's gonna
be a weekend.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
Can't wait.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
There'll be a lot of like, oh, jokes that you
saw that movie, that you're gonna make a lot to
people who haven't seen that movie and don't get it
at all.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they'll be like some people
like I just don't get it, like it's okay sometimes
dumb comedy just like honestly, hoo, do you want to
ask you this? Should this be a three astrical relationship?
Just be streaming, but I'm not sure if the world
even can laugh like this anymore.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
I think make it a theater just because like you
need those summer comedy movies like A Hangover just to
be out, because like, great, a streaming movie is funny,
but like like like look at why two k I
watched it this weekend, but you're gonna watch the next
week like no one's watching it collectively, which I think
makes things a little better. But you know, teaching them,
(50:02):
I think if it doesn't do well, be on Paramount
Plus in like two months. So it's like it's like
it's okay, I'm saying this one Thursday, O Kevin, you
can switches over to normal view for real quick because
we have to talk about the other big not elephant
in the room, maybe dragon in the room. Because over
(50:25):
the weekend was the media preview weekend for Universals Epic Universe,
and my god.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
Does it look good.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
It looks real good beautiful things in that park, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (50:37):
It is so essentially you don't know what it is. This
is Universal Orlando's third park. Obviously, we've had a storied
history with them the past few years of us all
rescovering theme parks, and the pandemic. But Universal as of
right now before this park opens officially next month. Uh,
what had Universal's Island of Adventure, which had Marvel of
(50:59):
the nineties, had Harry Potter, Hogwarts and Hogsmeat, Jurassic Park,
Slash World, and Doctor Seuss. And it had Universal Orlando,
Universal Studios Orlando, which had Mummy, It had Men in Black,
it had the Diagon Alley, Simpsons e.
Speaker 3 (51:17):
T Yes there, Jaws got rid of that for some reasons.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
Well for Harry Potter. That's why Kevin is that is
for sure. Wise Diagon Alley is on top of the
Jaws rides. If you see a shark, watch you out,
that's a ghost. But Kevin for what you know, what's
coming to Universals, Epic Universe.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
Etpic Universe, from what I've seen so far, looks like
a well made twenty first century park. Because now, Hoody
and I we love Disney, We even loved the old
Universal stuff. But a lot of that stuff was build
in the seventies, in the eighties and maybe the nineties.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
In the early two thousands, we'll say Harry Potter.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
Animal Kingdom. But at the same time, they haven't really
been touched it's been tweaked, they've been you know, massage
and updated. This is a brand new park. I guess
maybe I think there've been like another far somewhere in Colorado,
in Texas and Texas, wh that's where this. This is
a brand new theme park built for in twenty twenty
four century consumption. And I think this might be a
(52:18):
state of the art thing that I don't know, Dizney
might have to look at some stuff. Yeah, I understand,
don't get me wrong. I don't think. I don't think
people are going to stop going in Disney World. But
just the way engineering wise things are done now they
were done back then. Look at that's not a sad uh.
Speaker 5 (52:35):
So.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
The main things that coming to this theme park if
you are trying to plan, and you know we are
unofficial theme park podcast because Kevin and I go so much,
is they'll have a main hub kind of like a
Magic Kingdom where is the castle. It's called Celestial Park.
There'll be like two rides there, which is cool, but
then there'll be hubs hub areas of a Super Nintendo World,
which will have the Mario Kart ride, will have a
(52:56):
Yoshi ride, which is like a people mover, ride and
a new Donkey Kong ride which.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
Is dope as hell. It'll have.
Speaker 1 (53:03):
Dark Moor which is Dark Universal kind of the Universal's Monsters.
Uh So, there'll be a big ride there, a lah
kind of the Hogwarts Castle Ride slash Rise of Resistance.
It'll have a small roller coaster in some mountains and
some restaurants and stuff like that. It'll have How to
Train Your Dragon, which will be a bunch of rides
and stuff with that, which is dope. And it will
(53:26):
have a new Harry Potter thing set in Patty, which
is gonna be you going through the Ministry of Magic
and kind of be a little bit of an epilogue
ride to the Harry Potter movies to a degree.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
Yeah, I've seen a lot of puttuh of that on
my TikTok this weekend as well. Now I'm not familiar
with the term come back to carry Potter person, but
you probably help me out. When you walk through into
the Ministry of Magic, basically you turn into this green Oh.
Speaker 1 (53:50):
You go through the flu Powder Network, aka you get transported.
Remember in Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets, So he goes
diagonally and it goes to Nocturn Alley and said diagon Alley.
Speaker 4 (53:59):
It's that, which is cool.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Yeah, and they actually did it. I think they used
what I think they're using.
Speaker 4 (54:04):
It is likes and steam.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
But the fact that if you walk through it, you
see green and you turn into the smoke and you
walk out and you're in it's amazing. Yeah, it's simple,
but it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
And the ride line for that, including that you end
up in the Ministry of Magic, will looks dope as hell.
It is literally, I think it is universal saying hey, oh,
you know, right, just since you had walking into the
starter story with the Stormtroopers, we're gonna have here's a
whole ass Ministry of Magic department right here, exactly.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
I think that's a that's a good record.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Yeah, overall it looks awesome. I know, like we we
have video video footage up right now. It is I'm
going through the Ministry of Magic, right. We probably won't
get to the part where they get to some of
the other rides. That's totally okay, who cares. But I
do think, oh, yeah, here's the example of the flu
network of the powder going and you get pushed to
the other area. But I do think this is really dope,
and if you are playing a trip to Orlando maybe
(54:57):
this year, like myself and Kevin R, maybe hitting up
this third park is well worth the wait, especially because
it is going to be something new, something you get
to discover and aren't told by a thousand people like
that's where you gotta go. It's like, well, we go
there because we like ABC and D not just because
everyone says it's the best restaurant you need to eat
(55:18):
in Orlando.
Speaker 3 (55:20):
For me, I think I'd rather go here than go
to Universal and out of Adventure honestly.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
Yeah, And well then that's the smart thing is Universal
Studios has kind of been like, well, if you want
to go here, you do have to go to the
other parks, which makes sense. It's a business, but I
think it for Harry Potter, at least you get all
three parts of that Harry Potter experience, and for you
know how to train your dragon if you're willing to more.
And I watched those movies like a year and a
(55:45):
half ago, so we know all about that stuff. And
then Nintendo is classic and the cool thing is all
the influencers that have been invited this week pointed out
there's a lot of Legend Zelda Easter eggs in the
Nintendo area, so them kind of leaning into, hey, we
might be at she's building that legend of Zelda Park
most likely when the movie comes out in twenty twenty seven, right.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Would be though for legend Zelda would be a roller coaster?
Would it be? Like?
Speaker 1 (56:11):
I think, I think easily you just do everything like
the Hogwarts Hogwarts ride, just because I think that's you
put so much storytelling into that, and especially with Zelda,
where sure all the gamers know, you know, Link and
Zelda and Gannendorf, but to the common theme park go
where you're like, oh, yeah, it's the guy goes yeah
the whole time, I don't know anything else about it.
Speaker 4 (56:34):
Yeah, but I think.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
Overall looks dope as hell. I'm excited. I hopefully I
am going in June because of the radio station. So
I'll let you know, Kevin, it's if it's well worth
the reservation or not. But obviously, like we'll know in
the weeks to come, like is the food good?
Speaker 4 (56:54):
Is the ride's good?
Speaker 1 (56:55):
I know, I know, Kevin, and I follow this guy
who does go was invited just to prove like how
big the seats can go for certain people that you
know that weigh certain things or have you know, certain
extra fluff on them.
Speaker 4 (57:09):
And I was like, well look at it. He was
like every seat.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
Was great, a lot bigger than any other ride universalizes,
which is great.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Universal has a has like a I don't say a stigma,
but basically Disney rides are kind of built for everybody,
and also a rids I will say theme park in general,
like Hershey Park six Flags. You did that kind of
buil wrong for everybody Universal, Like if you're too big
or too fat, I'm sorry, you can't ride too tall,
too wide. Like I have a friend, my manager, actually
(57:36):
he's six six eight. He can't ride anything at Universal
because he's just simply too tall. It's kind of sad,
you know what I mean. So that I'm happy that
this one is more welcoming of all times, of types
of body sizes.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
Basically yeah, and then I mean we have video footage
if you're watching the video versus podcasts of Superintendo World
right now, like hell yeah, That's why I'm said, the
majority of my day is right there super Nintended World.
Speaker 3 (58:01):
I'm having that too, because I remember when I first.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
Opened in La in Japan. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
Yeah, it looked like it wasn't much to do besides
Mario Kart rise. I'm happy this one is opening with
a lot more to do inside of it, yeah, than
the rest of the other because they had to wait.
I don't. I don't think the Donkey Kong rids open
yet in California. No.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Yeah, we get it first and as much as you
know people are like, oh, this ride's dumb, and like, hey,
we're getting it. That's all that matters. I don't care
if it's dumb. I want to see it, damn.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
I mean my car Madness rides for Donkey Collins's simple,
that's just duh, let's do that. I'm still not too
impressed with a Mario Kart ride for what I've seen
written it, what I've seen on it. I'm like, I
guess I feel like they could have did something along
the lines of a Tomorrowland Speedway but still had it
(58:51):
on a track, but still experience a.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Race, but still let me hit you with the shell.
Everyone's piled up behind you because they can't get around you.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
It was pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
Yeah, but I mean, overall, great moves so far. Obviously,
we'll hear more about it. But just so something you
know is that hey might not just be an only
Disney trip in Orlando. Next time you go might be
definitely include Universal half and half it up.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
Baby. Usually that's what we do. But but now looking
at this park, I'm want to make time like I don't.
Like I said, I've been in Universal Studios a million times.
I've been in Universe Eleventaris a million times. The only
thing I haven't written there is Velosa Coaster that's open
the past couple of years. But I might be, like,
you know what, I'm not doing either one. I'm going
to I'm going to Epic Universe. I don't really care
about these other twities.
Speaker 4 (59:34):
Yeah, yeah, that worth it anymore.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
But that that does it for us. I'm gonna switch
us back over to normal reaction Kevin if my podcast,
there we go. But that does it for us. Here
on today's episode, we kind of cover the gamut. We
talked about theme parks, we talked about conventions, we talked
about movies, and we talked about some video games.
Speaker 4 (59:54):
You know, it's a fun time.
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Yeah, and TV shows begin TV shows as well.
Speaker 1 (59:59):
Yeah, as Andy Dragon said, Crisis Crew trip, let's plan
a field trip.
Speaker 5 (01:00:03):
We will all get you to get.
Speaker 4 (01:00:04):
Your parents to sign permission forms to get you to go.
Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
If you don't get it, you're gonna end up like
Harry Potter, Profess mcgonical Prisoner of Askaban.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
So so I will say, Hoodie and I are pretty
regimented with our theme park schedules. So if you do
come with us, we.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Want to have things in order in December, we'll take
care of you.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
Bit gotcha.
Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
But you can see everything we talked about today at
infinitud score pods on the Instagram or x go and
give it to you. You can see the video form
of this podcast. We can see the trailers we talk about.
You can see the footage we're referring to when we
talk about these theme parks. Twitch dot tv or YouTube
dot com, slash Infinite Underscore pods. But yes, I would say,
(01:00:45):
if you are going to trying to go to Epic Universe,
don't need them necessarily go immediately this summer. This winter
would be a good option, and we'll be busy, but
they'll have everything down pat by them for sure, like
there won't be Oh, the I broke, We don't know
how to fix it because it's hasn't had two thousand
people on it in one hour, you know exactly. Oh no,
(01:01:07):
we ran out of this food item. We didn't know
one hundred thousand people would eat this in two hours.
Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
So well, shoot, now we got to do a line
now for us. Take six cheese roll car Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Oh no, No, Kevin finds a new food item he
likes in a theme park.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
St cheese Man.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
That was it, but we will be back on Wednesday,
breaking down wildly the penult episode of the season of
Daredevil Bourne again uh and getting you ready for Last
of Us Season two aka Part two, whatever you want
to call it, coming out next week, and breaking down
White Lotus.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
Because it's gonna be something. It's gonna be something, Kevin.
Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
There's gonna be something. I'm here, I'm hearing a lot
of things. I heard. The show worker left.
Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
This on the the composer, yeah, the themed direct.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
I don't know if he was actually composer for the show,
but apparently the theme song for White Lotus this season,
they cut it short and people and it's why people complained,
because they didn't get to the part where we're supposed
to connect to the other two theme songs.
Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
But it is what it is. We'll talk about that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
I want to know from the source is it real
or not, because right now it seems like internet Internet
reactions more than yeah. But have a great week. Just know, hey,
this weekend didn't go for you, while you got a
new weekend next weekend as well.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Don't worry. Keep it up PEP positive.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
It's always a new day.
Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Yes, yes it is not the current new day, but
the old new day.
Speaker 4 (01:02:31):
Me meanies.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
But as always, my name is Hoodie and I'm Kevin,
and you have officially listened to this New Day episode
of what keV Crisis on Infinite Pod keV
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
GHO see Shadow Force
