Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to the nerdy news you need to know
throughout the week. On iHeart Brady went a.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Cash services all around the world. Because my name's Hoodie
and I'm Kevin.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
You're officially listening to this Monday, Monday Monday episode of.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
What Kevin Crisis on Infinite Hard. Once again, Teddy has
proven my pets wrong. He's cheering us during our intro
and Cookies look at me like you disgusted me.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Disgusted me. I mean if Cookie me out during that
and not during the rest of the podcast, that'd be great.
But you know, it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Should be about thirty minutes because almost her feeding time,
so she'll be like ready to go.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
She said, we hung Yeah, one of the best lines
Ty recevers Fast Furious movie. We hungry, We hungry, were hungry. Uh,
but we're still waiting on Fast Export two or whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
So man, we've probably in the whole podcast on the
state of the franchise.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Let's put up there, put it on the best stuff,
but on the we got no ideas the state Fast
and Furious franchise.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
I still get to see five through nine, so I
didn't get on it one of these days.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Just get peacock. Baby, you got a marathon weekend. You're
good to go, And I know five and six are
at least good. I know the rest of them behind
like up in the air. But I did see Hobson shot.
I was I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
The shot was cool.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
You saw that in theaters with us, which is want
what a time? A different time, a different time. But
we got a jam back show for you today. Obviously,
as you can see in the title of the podcast,
we were talking about Grand Theft Auto six being delayed. Yeah,
we're gonna do a little bit of a recap on
Dispatch episodes five and six, maybe enticing to play the
(01:52):
game because it's kind of the talk of the towns
right now, which is great, and uh, it's taking over
our lives. It might be one of the games where
for the first time in while, we both have two
different playthroughs of one game, which is great.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, another game like that I posted about on Friday
seven day, a lot of playthroughs how to play.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Speaking of Mass Effect, we're gonna talk about what the
Massive Effect series could actually be if it ever goes
into production ever, talk about another game getting delayed, and
at the end of the podcast, what should happen in
a dark Miss Piggy movie.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
This Piggy is already kind of dark, so I mean,
how much darker can it get?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I mean, the Muppets movies always has that, like that
little climax in the middle of whatever, rising plot, rising tension, whatever,
storyboarding where the Muppets fall apart and gets real sad.
And some of the Muppet movies you see them drinking
and doing drugs. You're like, oh my god, what happened.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I don't forget not the Muppet movie, but their Muppets.
The Sesame Street movie with Big Bird Big Bird went
to like to.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Trying that Bird. Oh my god, that was so good, Kevin.
That movie is so good because it's all of them
just doing a bubblegum rally finding big Bird.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
But then when the lady died in the middle of it,
was like, what what it means? She died?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
The lady kids move the lady bird find that bird?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
No, I think it was like it was. It was
like a lady h like a person that was helping
big Bird, and she died like in the middle of it,
and it got real somber. From like ten minutes, I'm like,
I didn't come here to Sesame Street to.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Be said, nineteen eighty five, this movie came out. That's
the funny thing is like we had the VHS. I
don't know if it ever came to It did come
to theaters actually already had a theater actual release in
August second, nineteen eighty five. Uh, we would watch that
movie to our hearts content. Now that's how we fell
in love with super Grover. And then we were scared
by the the like child Protective Services bird that was
(03:40):
like I scorted him from home, Nome or whatever.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I remember that.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I was like, God, this just got real emotional, made it.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Like you're not used to like those very special episodes
of like still comes back in the day. I came
here for to see Michelle saying you gotta do. I
didn't come here to see but Uncle Jesse's Grandpa from
Grease die.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
It wasn't prepared for that. It wasn't prepared for that
at all. Was not prepared for that at all. But uh,
you can see we're talking about today so much more,
including follow that Bird, a Sessame Street story at Infinite
Underscore pods on the Instagram or the X Gonna give
It to you or Kevin, where can they go to
participating this year podcast and record it live maybe later
(04:24):
on their own accord.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
You can watch this live twice a week on Twitch
dot tv, Slash Infinite, Underscore Pods, and Youth in the
Chat and while you are there. If you have an
Amazon Prime subscription, you definitely get a free sub every month.
You can use that sub subscribe to our podcast kind
of funny has enough scriber you don't know to survive.
One's fine, they're in San Francisco living it up, and
give them a good life. They get married, in kids,
they're doing great. Just give us your sub.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
One of us, we're both married, one of us has kids.
One of us has just a dog. But you know
what steamers apply, and.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I'm pretty sure it will be just a dolt for
a little more. I'm pretty sure dogs are in their future. Dog.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
That's the other thing. I love Teddy and I don't
uh you know, when you're like, oh, we cool to
have a second dog, You're like, what do you name
that dog? Because Teddy we named a human name. Do
we go their nerdy route and be like, we're gonna
name them Kylo. We're gonna name him you know, can't
name with a certain Star Wars name because it's taken already. Uh,
but like we're gonna name him like R two, not
(05:22):
like our two that's a letter and a number, but
we're gonna name him like uh boye or something like,
you know, like like oh, we see you guys are
nerds anytime we take them to the you know, but.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
She can't doin us live and on Twitch. You also
joined us on YouTube dot com stash if the Underscore
posts wall, you have all our episodes there on demand
at your own leisure, and you actually can watch us
talk about a lot of what you just mentioned, because
we did like a whole Star Wars thing like six
seven years ago, and like rude autumum, it was actually
pretty cool until the skywalking we left left feeling pretty underwhelmed,
pretty underwell.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
And also, Kevin, have a new idea we could do
for another no news day. What would be our starting
six Pokemon slash? What gym leader would we be if
we could be one?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Said? I was Mac. Yesday we were in Costco and
Costco has the giant fluffy plush Pokemon uh huh, and
I was gonna do the do the choosing video for
KI because haven't done it yet. But they had bubble
store and they had squirrel no charm.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
It was like, come on, well, obviously you know everyone's.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Making not happy. I'm like, come on together, man, I'm
gonna keep video in the back of the store. Now,
I gotta we do it. Winston's a good dog name.
I just thought that Winston is a good and you
can call them like Ghostbusters.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
We all right, we're gonta path. We gotta path. But
we start this podcast properly with something we like to
call what Shit Doing, where we talk about the shows
and movies we've been watching games, we've been playing, lives,
we've been living. Because it's Monday, Kevin, you get to
(07:01):
go first. Dispatch Chalk will be held for later.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
First of all. The Ravens one. So that's good.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
This happened literally just happened, just literally just happened.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I was I was in here a tight butt and
making sure that they all right.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
But how do you know about your butt all right?
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Other than that, this weekend was another mainly weekend cut
down the rest of the trees in my backyard. My
backyard is filthy. Now, A few guys there listened before
I lived in my parents' house. I actually bought my parents'
house for my stepmom. Shoot, almost five years ago. Five
years ago. I didn't realize it's been that long. So
(07:39):
the bushes that have been growing on the back of
my house have literally been growing since I've lived here.
I've moved here when I was twelve, So it was
kind of like, I'm sitting here looking at this stuff,
like lutle, did I know I was a twelve year
old boy moving in. I hope you the one me
So yeah, I cut them down. I looked around. It's
(07:59):
just so much not trash, like a little trash, but
like just like dirt, debris, yard trash, leaves, debris sticks.
I think I may have unleashed a bubble gonna be
a lady bug plague in my house because I think
this is where they were living, and I just cut
down at habitat. They're like, dude, come on, man, it's cold.
So right now I have a full thicket of bushes
(08:22):
and leaves hanging in the back of my yard. Because
this is kind of a millennial problem. I don't know
what to do with bushes and trees after you cut
them down, So I don't figure that out.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Normally, you just put it in the front of your
house and someone comes.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Yeah. I was. I live near woods too, and I
was gonna just going to look them down in the
wood and throw in the woods. But apparently that's a
frown upon. The no dumbing rule extends to.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
What makes sense. If it's lawn or a body, it's
gonna be the same rules apply.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Okay, exactly, So I think I can be one of
two things. I can I can look it up the
legal way to do it, or I went through the
night time doing it.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I could see that and this is a legal loophole
right here, and none of this happened. This is just
a what if scenario exactly.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
So I did that yesterday. Ended up learning how to
rethreat a chainsaw as well, because a couple of times
the chainsaw got stuck and I had to like take
it apart and reput it around the daily and retention it.
I was like, I'm really living a lot here, So
I'm good with chainsaws now. So like, I guess I
got a plus one in my chainsaw.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Sure, yeah, Ray, But Kevin's future D and D character
good with chainsaws with.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Chainsauce other than that, yesterday, it's kind of just a
regular old family day. I cleaned up outside of the east,
clean the inside. Then he went to Costco. I told
you my story about the Pokemon. I was kind of upsetting.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Then Kira decided to run down each all how I
know of the Costco. So that was fun chasing her
around yesterday. But that's what you do when you're your dad.
Is that when your dad over the age of thirty five,
things a little bit, uh, not as quick as it
used to be when I was a little younger, but
so well, I would run with her. Now I'm just like,
all right, you'll come back. You'll come back. If you
(10:09):
go that way, I can hit you off that way,
that kind of thing. So yeah, to take care of that.
I have to take care of my yard one of
these days. I'm I'm kind of hoping for a cold snap,
so like all the leaves on the on the on
the on the branches die off that way. I mean,
I could just burn it actually in a fire pit,
would be pretty cool. I mean, I don't I don't
know if you want to come over and burn some wood, hoodie,
but what's kind of drive for you?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
But I'm just burn burn some things. I'm not that
much of a pyro unfortunately.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
But yeah, that's all I've really been doing actually, other
than that plan dispatch that in a second, I have
kind of relaxed on Red Dead because of dispatch.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yeah, I think dispatch. We'll talk about a little bit.
But it just came out a good timer. It's like
I got something fun to do, and it ends right
before Thanksgiving, you know exactly.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
But in an honor of and seven day, I didn't
at least redownload mass effect addition to my PSFO and
I'm figuring about it.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
We'll talk about that, but we'll talk about the mass
effect games too, because I'm thinking about something else too
with the announcement of the show. But we'll talk about
that also in a little bit.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
And I was also thinking, I know what, I have
a drama all my Xbox too. I only played through
the ones. Can't be that bad, right, it can't be.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
That's gotta be better now, right.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I was actually playing that when Lea was a baby,
which is how long that's been out, which is crazy.
That's me just a boring old dad. Weekend of cutting
down trees and chasing kids around grocery stores.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
What about you, buddy, that's okay, your boy. It was
a fun weekend. More and I did go to the
chilis on Friday, which if you're in the DMV, there
ain't that many chilies around, so there's like two you
can go too.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Really, I'm always said, of all the chain restaurants, Applebee's,
TGI Friday's, Chili Chilies is my go to. I love chilies.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
So we went because TikTok had us and because we're
this household's obsessed with wicked, we got the wicked margaritas
and Kevin, let me tell you something, and then wicked
margaritas were hidden. You know why because there were six
dollars apiece for one margarita, which was great, so.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
It was it was if it was six dollars basically
that means it was.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Unlimited to a degree. But on top of that, obviously
got the triple Dipper. The thing we do is because
More can't eat really a lot of that because she's
veget she's pescatarian. Vegetarian, is that I get that as
my main meal. She gets hat one of the mott
sticks and then she gets something else. So it worked out. Uh,
(12:32):
it's fun because the little Wicked margaritas you get either
a glindast or an alphabuster or two. So we got
a bunch of those and belted wicked on the way home.
It was a great time.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It was funny. I was just thinking about it. I
should take my daughter for that woman. She can't drink margarita.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Well, apparently they have virgin ones too, because like the
alcoholic one, I guess, like the mix is pre batched
without the alcohol, then they pour the alcohol in it
and then they started. Okay, so she makes so you
could get that. I think you just have to ask
for a non alcoholic version of it. If you guys
wanted to go to your chili's.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, I loved. I meant the chicken tenders man, good lord,
onion pedals. Are you kidding me? The onion pedals.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
No, don't sleep on the sliders. The sliders that's like
out of the Triple Dipper. You're like, oh, yeah, I
told more of this your favory thing. I was like,
I think the sliders because I know what I'm getting
with the Monsarelli stick and the crispers. The slider just
delights me.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
You know, It's like I'm sorry. I know Fridays you're
cool with with with your Jack Daniel's menu and then.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Applebe anybody go down Bees anyone, Chili's where it's at.
So that was great. On top of that, we decided
we watched Lelo and Stitch on Friday Live Action one.
It's the first time we both saw it. It was okay,
I don't like bam bam. Yeah, the main the main
thing was the jump of stuff. You're like, okay, I
(13:49):
see where they combined all the Gantu things into the
jump of things and it didn't really work.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah. I mean it's a pleasant family watch. I'll say,
like that with two kids, something you can put on
and kind halfway pay attention to and still be a
little entertained. But no, I have to go all the
way into.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
It will be interesting because they are making a second one.
Just how the first one ends where Jumbo's taken away, Like,
wait a second. The whole point of the series is like,
we like the family dynamic they had of a found family,
and they took away one of the members of that family.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Where do they go?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
It's go all right, cool Bubbles and Bleakly are getting
it on now. I guess all right, sure, but I'm like, how.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Are you of the controversy those conferdts when it happened. Actually,
though about how Lilo and Nanu got separated because.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Oh Nanni, Yeah it's it's dumb, but because I heard
about it, because everyone's like, oh, she's going to college,
she leaves the family behind. But then like, well she
has the portal gun, so sheould come back anytime she wants. Yeah, okay, cool,
Then why even have that as a plot? I think
it's the main thing more. And I just didn't like
the Nanni actress at all. I think I've just been
the character too of just like she didn't care about
(14:55):
Lelo at all, like she shouldn't be here.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
She was definitely more of a real world Ninny than
a Disney animated not It was like, you know, I'm
here's the poetry. She was like, no, I'm tired of this.
I'm tired of all.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
But yeah I was. It was good. It was good,
I think more than anything. We also on Saturday decided
to watch The Substance, and let me tell you that
was a doggie of a movie. The Substance The ones
that mean More and Margaret Quality where she takes the
like injector.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
She can't she can't age or something, or.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
She she becomes a new her younger self essentially.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Yeah, yeah, I remember that. Yeah, yeah, but it was
I heard some things about it.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
It's interesting. I see why it was nominated for certain things,
but I'm like, I don't know the ending. I'd be like, Okay,
we're getting a little too much here now, would be
nominated for Best Picture.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Yeah, I feel like that's kind of almost kind of backwards.
Not a love letter, but uh maybe maybe a middle
finger to Hollywood how to achieve women.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah, and it was definitely could see that a lot.
I was like, to mean more, to mean more, killed it.
I think her performance was great throughout the whole movie,
which obviously why she won awards for it. Good for
Margaret quality, because I think that was a movie that
put her name on the map last year. Because also
she's a character in deaf Stranding too, so you can
pay attention to that. If you won't play that game,
(16:15):
that's that's.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
That is one game I probably will never ever play.
I still don't understand what the game is about.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
One of these days you'll play it. You'll get it,
you'll get it, You'll get it. But Saturday also making
sure I'm going through all the good stuff. Yes was
my second Pokemon tournament, Yes, of all time, and this
time zero and three again. Baby, it's okay, but it
was great. It's Dream Wizards in Rockville, which is right
(16:40):
by the radio station, so that's like it's convenient for
that because I know where it is. Mostly is the
main thing. It's pretty much the same maybe like two
thirds of the same people from last week because the
apparently they signed up for all four of the sessions,
which hey, I get it, you know, do it. But
got there merely talked to a guy brought in one
of those Pelican cases. You're like, oh, this man's got
(17:04):
some cards. He was like, yeah, I'm only here for
the chars, aard everything. If anything else I don't care
about because I'm trying to sell the charges. Are like, okay, sorry,
all right, We're here to have fun, not do that
type of stuff.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Actually, I was chucking my hands on the number of
chars are actually made each year, because I wonder if
it's more than like a hundred for.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
The world, you know what I mean, man, who knows?
I mean? With Pokemon cards that's an interesting thing on
how much they print for US versus japan style. Too.
Interesting thing I found out is that the Japanese version
of the new chars Aard, which is like all three
of them on one card, is the Japanese one is
better because the English text covers up chart Manser's face.
And you're like, oh, okay, cool, but it was cool.
(17:43):
I did go in three. But I realized that I
gravitate towards the people I immediately know or like there
to like either start the cards or figure out how
to play the game. And I entertained the hell out
of them. Everyone else who's there and like has been
to doing this for a minute. They're like, okay, yeah,
we see what you're doing. Have fun. Okay.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
It's kind of like me. I mean, not the same thing,
but I remember I used to play flag football on the
weekends before all the kids stuff. There was always a
second of people that were there because they were second
string in West Virginia to trying to prove something. And
there are people like me who out there just really
used to have fun and be a little active on
the weekends, and like you said, I always grab towards
to those people. And after certain number of seasons we
(18:22):
albums made our own team. Basically, we had a bunch
of fun. But it was a good time. I did.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
I got a different cards set. The cool thing is
I like about this is it is pre released me.
It means you get a certain deck. Everyone gets one
of four decks and you have to play that deck.
It's not like, oh, I've collected all the fans the
most expensive cards and I'm beating everyone. I'm a KaiA
in it right now, out of Yugi. I know it's
a different world, but say, Brules apply it is all right,
(18:50):
use what you got, see what you can do. Most
of the time. Why I lost because I made a
mistake most of the time, which is totally okay. I
did play a guy who rift bound is the new hotness,
which is the League of Legends. Cards are coming out,
I have been coming out or coming out now or
something new sets coming out. He literally while he was
playing me, was on the phone with other card shops
(19:13):
asking do you have these card sets? Do you have
these card sets? And sold his binder of cards he
pulled that day for eight hundred dollars to the card shop.
I'm like, oh god, yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
It's funny. Though we mentioned Yu gi Oh, I just
realized we need we need to find you a Yu
gi Oh tournament so you can show up with with
the thing, the card.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
The card. I mean, I just got to buy Spear Halloween.
You need to sell that. I'll buy it. It's on
the sale. But yeah, so we didn't do well. Someone
did pull a charge art immediately off the rip, which
is good for them, and they left. They they said,
I'm not playing, I'm leaving.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
I say, I'm gonna say, just so do you if
you pull a charge you think you know what?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I'm good you guys. I don't need I don't need
to pull any of the cards again. I'm good bouncing
any bounced, so cause that at.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Least I guess if you were, if you want to play,
they'll put whoever you you want to play in the
second round or whatever.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
But I did do and this was a fun thing
that differed from the first time, my very first trade,
which was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Oh that's cool.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I told you last week I kind of got just
taken advantage of and my card got taken. Uh, this
time I was smart and so no one's taking this.
But I did pull a double of something, and I said,
did anyone want this? And I traded. So I had
this little car. I don't know if you could see it, Kevin,
it said little. It's a little cor you look at
Pokemon named Yamper. I don't think the thing can there go.
(20:33):
So I had two of them and someone traded me.
I got to look for his binder and I got. So.
The cool thing is I've been collecting hall lucha's, which
is like the fighting Bird Pokemon looks like Raymisterio. So yeah,
a Japanese version of a hall lucha. I don't know
if you can see it, but I got that. And
I've been looking for this a dark garret dose.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
That's cool.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah, it's for the twenty fifth anniversary of Pokemon. I've
been collecting those cards, so I thought it was a
cool deal. I don't know if that was a good trade,
but it like it so because the yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Feel like you're kind of diving deeper into the card world.
So like maybe it wasn't a good trade, but you're
learning as you keep going.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Maybe a year you're like, all right, learn for you. Yes,
so it was a good time. The next one probably
isn until February, so I'm gonna try to get Eric
to do that one. I know next year, the thirtieth
anniversary of Pokemon happened, so I assume there'll be a
lot more and a lot more cards to chase and
all that good stuff. So for now, it was a
good book end to the end of the year, and
then we'll see what happens next year.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah, I'm happy to be kind of kind of going
into again in this world of card training. I just
want you to go even deeper and then I need
to go to madic tournaments. I need you to go
to like a UVO.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Well that's why I asked, because I have a play
mat that's from the twenty nineteen Championships in DC, and
every time I roll that out, people are like, oh,
you're going, Like no, but like it's cool I heard
about and everything. And apparently you don't have to super
qualify to go to participate at the like the World Championship,
because you can show up and do the exhibitions. If
(22:01):
you do out the exhibition, they give you like the
one extra spot for the actual one.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Son, maybe I actually get back in the back. We're gone.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
I mean, you could. There's a lot of them. Just
go to your local CBS or Walgreens to find a
couple of them in good to go there.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Maybe maybe through me and gain prominence again.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
There you go through Kevin, it can make it happen.
But Kevin, that's what I've been doing. You can also
let us know what you've been doing at anthonyum score Pods.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
But let's get on into it.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
It's time for the news. It's time. No no, no, no.
And first things first, let's talk about Dispatch episodes five
and six. So let's break it down, Brown. So, in
case you didn't hear, Dispatch is the game we're both
(22:50):
obsessed with right now, and a couple of our friends
are too, which is great. We always appreciate.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
It is the video game from ad Hoc Studios, which
is a bunch of tailtaled develop helpers who did the
Walking Dead Wolf among us Guardians. There was a Borderlands one,
a Batman one. Uh. There was an Expanse one if
you like the Expanse that was like the last one.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yet that one episode.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I wanted to play the Expanse Telltale game, but then
no one really talked about it. So this is what happened.
But this is a superhero show. Our superhero game really
a show if you thinking about it, you're playing it
where Aaron Paul is the voice of Robert Robertson, who
is a disgraced iron man to a degree. Uh, and
he essentially is failed. He loses a suit and has
(23:34):
to work as a dispatcher for a bunch of suicide
squad suicide squad type villains in a hero training program.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Yeah, and it kind of basically a character study of
what makes a hero with a lot of I want
to say, boys ish, invincible ish, humor, thrown humor, and
what's not what's looking for humor and banter. Basically, don't
into it. It's really really interesting.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Yeah, Coving. Just like every other Telltale game, they're episodic.
But the best thing is it's been weekly releases, so
it really has been felt like episodic releases because it's
been every week. You've had two new episodes finales this
weekend with episode seven and eight, and so far we're
just gonna generally talk about it where we'll do full
spoilers probably Thursday if there's nothing going on. Been having
(24:22):
a great time, been loving it and I think it's
just been a fun vibe and the soundtrack has been great.
I'll say that for sure. I'm must show you how
to make up Kevin had that one. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
And then also I didn't realize the lady that was
sing that song and it was the episode three. I
think that song is she's actually uh like Shimmer, Glimmer Simmer, Yeah, yeah, Shimmer. Yeah.
She says she's a pretty good voice actors so far.
She's really really funny. It's funny. And then a lot
of the voice actors in his game are like Internet
I guess you want to say Internet celebrities. I want
to say it's it's a really interesting game that makes
(24:58):
you wonder if this idea was out there, why didn't
someone like a Triple A developer maybe make this more
than just a telltale type game, like a full fully
mergs not open world, but like a three D game
where you get moveing around all kind of stuff. It's
very interesting.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, I think the cool thing is obviously there's been choice,
and a lot of it is who's your main romance,
who are you picking up as a new employee or
team member? But overall it is, you know, color of
the lines kind of how Telltelle stories really work. Yeah,
at least for now, we'll find out what the finale.
That's always how it is. B But episodes are like
(25:34):
forty forty five minutes long and it's it's a good time.
Episodes five and six is really where things start hitting
the fans, which is really good. Episode six really having
a lot of emotional beats to it and oh man,
keep up, just keep up, oh man, man.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
But how are you liking the hacking mini game? And
this I turned up, I turned off, I turned on
like unimited try.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
I did too because I realized if I didn't, I
would lose immediately. Because there's a mechanic that certain levels
you have to hack where it's really just go through
a digital maze. But in the later episodes where we
are now the lad sort of pac Man ghosts that
chase you to a degree anti viruses and they hit
you you're done. Some of those are tricky. There's like
(26:23):
ten of these in here. How am I gonna get
around this? But I do think having a limited makes
it more enjoyable, whereas if you had the time, you
have pressure and fail a lot more.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, I had a bug in mind. Last night when
I was playing Failed one Antivirus, things got me, but
for some reason it wasn't resetting right, so I had
actually actually exit out of an episode and go back
into the episode again and to keep playing the beginning
part of it to get to that part. It was
really annoying.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah, I think overall I have cited romance with Invisigal
in this game so far. In my main new hero
I hired was water Boy, who thinks squore. Think that
first squirrel card where he's bubblebeaming you. He's like that,
but it's no bubbles. It's just water the entire time Mountain.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
He's not cute at all.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
He's not and so far been really liking that. We
talked about this last week. There is a moment episode
four where you make sure no kids are around. For
sure this this week not so much. You were fine,
but Kevin, who are you? Has been your main two
decisions really out of the game.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Main decision was I did it as a gall as well,
but also started immediately started a new slot, and I
did Blue Blazer. And I think episode five opens up
differently depending on who you are with. Yeah, yeah, because
I realized because I can't remember who opened up who
was in locker room with you in episode five, but
(27:50):
I know, I mean, if you did, blue Blazer comes
and kind of helps you out. Hey, nice stayed last night,
blah blah blah, see you next time. But did that?
And also I actually this is kind of a spoil
I may I shouldn't say that actually. But other than that,
my other big decision was I got a phenomena man
instead of water Boy because water Boy is grossy out.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
It is funn if your team water Boy up with
Jack Septic Guy's character, He'll got to do it, which
is Jack Septic Guy's like main catchphrase on YouTube. It
was like, Hey, I see what you're doing there the banter.
What was the other thing I wanted to talk to you? Oh?
Did you reveal that who you are to the team
or no? That was kind of the big decision this week.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
I actually said I was Blue Blazer and promptly got
almost burned death.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
By mecammand me command.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
But then mister the Golan guy saved me. So yeah,
when I threw him out, like I said, got respect
from that respect you respect you.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
So yeah, it's really a lot of like color, how
you want the story, but I think overall really good. Obviously,
we'll see how it lands a finale, and really I
think it should tea up with second season because it's
pretty good, or do a comic or have a show
ready because it was a good time and I think
it is a fun world that. I mean, you had
the voice actors use them to your advantage.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
And I think you're right about potentially a season two
because I remember listening to I think is Aaron Paul
is the guy that's Rob Robinson, right, the dude from
Breaking Back. He said he's working on his game for
like three years, and I feel like three years for
eightish episodes. Maybe there's more out there there would maybe
you have to wait a while to get. But it's
like the is out there. We had to wait for
(29:27):
him to put it all together, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
That's true, That is true. But we'll be back potentially
Thursday to talk about the finale episodes of that, and
then that's pretty much the last like big Well, there's
some other video games, but the last like fun video game.
We both were excited if we're out of the blue.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
You know, yeah, the video game comes out this Friday,
but we're not. We're not those kind of people.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
We'll see, we'll see. But the video game that was
supposed to come out next year may well it got
delayed again because Out of Six has been delayed again
until November twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
It's funny. The main joke I saw about this on
TikTok was that for those people who are married who
intentionally got their girlfriends pregnant so they can be a
maternity in May are right now?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Yeah, I mean, I think it was definitely an internet meme.
Hopefully you know and actually did that. But great planning
if you did. Great planning if you did and you
figured out the math on that one. But I think
it is to be expected with any rock Star game,
there are multiple delays. Look at Rocks Red Dead Redemption two.
(30:36):
When that first came out, it was allowed of delays
and we were like, when is it coming, and then
it finally did, like great, loved it with this probably
going to be the same thing. I mean. The actual
news was announced by rock Star during their Take twos,
you know, investor earning insane, giving the team some additional
time to finish the game. With the high level of
Polish players expect and deserve. We are confident that we
(30:57):
will deliver an Unravel blockbuster entertainment experience later in twenty
twenty six, in November. Now, Kevin, based on that, do
you think the game will actually come out November twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
I'm leaning towards a seventy percent yes, only because that's
the beginning also the beginning of a holiday season rush,
so there could be some money to be made by
by Xbox and PlayStation for some DTA bundles. Basically you
buy a PS five and you get like a Vice
City inspired looking PlayStation, and also the game is included.
(31:34):
So I'm leaning towards yes. And also I believe sant
Andreas came out in the same almost time period. I
think it was October, not November, but still that that
fall rush basically that people are starting starting to get
stuffed for a holidays type of rush.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah, so San Andreas October twenty six, twenty or whenever
that came, So the end of October, so around the
same time. GTA five was September like fifteenth or seventeenth.
I remember because it was my birthday gift to myself.
I bought it and that's all I do, But yeah,
I think I think it's good. I think interesting enough.
(32:07):
You know, IGN has a winners and loser article of
the GTA six delay, Like, you know, every Spring game
that was locked in, you're great. Every game that pushed
to the fall for next year you're probably scrambling of
what the hell do I do? But I think there's
also losers, like you know, Mandalorian Grogu. That will be
the entertainment talk of May twenty twenty six. Now, originally
(32:29):
it was just it be that and GTA. Now it's
just that for now, But then you look on the
right the other side, Black Friday. They'll be great for everybody.
But Microsoft is probably gonna be hurting because that's when
Microsoft was really going to try to push that Halo
campaign Evolved. Was probably gonna be November because that'll be
the twenty fifth anniversary of the Xbox. But then the
(32:51):
other thing is Marvel's Wolverine is gonna have a lot
more competition now if it actually is releasing November. Probably
should do October now probably, I.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Mean, if anything, I wonder if they will either push
up or push back, But I feel like they shouldn't
push it back because again, it's the holidays, so you want
to sell as many copies of that game of Hieh
as possible. But also maybe it's even might not even
maybe people are the people that want to buy will
Ring probably want to buy a funnl to indule sex anyway,
So it may not even be a really real issue
because this means that I'm buying two games in November
(33:24):
is of one, you know.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Yeah, And the funny thing is too. I I saw
a TikTok clip of When You Become Spoiler Venom and
Spider Man two. I'm like, oh, I'm getting hankered dispatch
about the end this week. I don't know, Okavin, I
don't know. Got of sushi mus to intimidating for me now,
A whole the whole map of sushim I can't do
it now.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yeah. So it's a it's a pretty it's pretty lengthy game, yeah,
chucky boy.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
But yeah, I think the delay it is what it is.
I think people are still going to buy it. I
do think, you know, if it comes out November tenth,
twenty six, it's still gonna be in the running for
Game of the Year, you know, like even if all
these other games are coming out that's gonna be top
of mind for everybody, you know.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
I'm also wondering too, because there was it's been a
rumber for a while, but this is gonna be one
hundred dollar game. Period in the story, I'm wondering if
all these delays are are maybe because they realize how
much they have to put it into this game and
it's actually it's going to be one hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Yeah. Well, I think the other thing is too. And
there's a question for you. Do you think GTA Online
launches with it or do you think it comes out
after So I think the main component has kept GTA
five around for so long as gt online just capes
getting money from people.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Yes, I think at this point it probably should come
with it. This is the second delay, second, third, second.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
One of those.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
At this point, I feel like whatever team's working on
the game itself, whatever team is working on online, I'm
kind of like, well, let's keep on working. Make sure.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
You would assume the campaign's probably done right now, is
just po she all the intricacies in it, you know,
the random things people will do on TikTok, because let's
face it, GTA you kind of do that online. I
wouldn't be surprised if they do what. I don't remember
if it was GTA five or Red Dead, where it
was a month after and then it was like, all right,
everyone's finished the campaign. Now essentially start back at Square
(35:19):
one again and do your online campaign, especially if the
game comes out November tenth, Hey, December fifteenth, here's online campaign.
Here had enjoyed for the holidays all the crazy point too.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yeah, it's kind of like a double whammy of DTA
is like Boom, here's a game, boom is online. Hopefully
here's more. I don't want to play online support as well,
because I actually didn't read the article recently that said
the reason why we didn't get any more DLC for
DTA A five was because they were basically Red Dead
Red Dead too, We're done, let's go to Red Dead two.
(35:49):
So I'm hoping this this game because I'm still probably
not going to play online because playing on DT online
isn't it.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Yeah, it is a life style for everybody lifestime. So
we have till November for that. So if you were
saving up for it, you could save a little longer.
If if it's one hundred dollars, so that's Okay, you
still have time, you know.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yeah, I'm already one hundred and at least seventy dollars
poor next year because of Wolverine and GTKA six.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Say come out on the same day. Oh my god,
oh my shut shut the presses. Nobody's doing anything that day.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
And now I feel like, if if Wolverine doesn't move,
it's because there's a Wolverine's the Hawk level in that
game somewhere. I feel like it doesn't. I know, we're good.
We have Wolverinea Hawk Level. We're good.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Yeah, I mean we'll find out. I would assume the
Game Awards we get a trailer for Wolverine again. Maybe
I know they said spring twenty twenty six when they're
gonna give us a deep dive, but give me another trailer.
But speaking of Marvel Games, GTA six wasn't the only
game that's been delayed. Marvel nineteen forty three The Rise
of Hydra has also been delayed indefinitely for now.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
You know, I forgot all about this game until I
was on our Fantasy Gaming website on Friday and I
saw that it released twenty twenty six. I was like, no, dude,
it's going out and then I only I saw the story, like, yeah,
that makes sense because the way in the world's game
was coming out, so he got one trailer for it
so far, not coming since.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
So in case you forgotten, Marvel nineteen forty three is
in development by sky Dance Games. It's led by Amy Hennick,
who's Uncharted one, two, and three, so obviously momentum was
in the right process. It is gonna be a story
based game, a limited amount of playtime, probably like ten
hours or ten to fifteen hours at most. We knew
(37:37):
car Cary Peyton Cyborg, he's Ezekiel in Walking Dead is
gonna was gonna be the voice of this black Panther,
which I think was T'Challa's great grandpa I think, or
maybe grandpa I think. I remember, Yeah, Grandpa, you were
also you were gonna be him. You're gonna be a
black Panther. You're gonna be Captain America, and then you're
gonna be a Cotton soldier and then one of the
(37:58):
hall in Commandos. Uh sort of as the gameplay, you
probably assume two and a half hours each if you're
gonna do a twelve hour game as each character, but
delayed indefinitely and I'm gonna say it, until it gets
a better title, it could stay indefinitely delayed because Marvel
nineteen forty three does nothing to.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Me, you know, yeah, MARVELI actually sounds like it should
be a game about Captain America becoming Captain.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
It sounds like a placeholder title, and they have not
given out the actual title for this game.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
I think there's only I said, seventy percent chance that
GTA sands and comes out in the next one member
m hm, I feel like there's a twenty percent chances
of game coming out. I don't see it happen.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
I mean, if you think about it, Kevin, what do
you think has a better chance of coming out? This
game or the Blade game from Marcaine, the Bethesda kind
of spin off studio. No, that's a good question because
the Blade game also same kind of era right now,
where it had a trailer that was shown off and
we haven't seen anything since because of it.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
And honestly, I don't know what Microsoft is doing right
now with with their gaming systems in general. They seem
they're just like, ah, we don't know, there's more Halo.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Remember, I'm supposed to get Star Wars Eclipse with that
video game here that's also just in the ether.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
I'll tell you I'll give this more of a shot
than Blade, but not by much.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Saying I mean, if you've got if you've got carry
Payton in it, really, all you really need to do
is have a Comic Con panel with the trailer. Here's
the cast ex playing the game. Have it come out
that fall, not next fall, obviously, because if Wolverine's coming out,
you don't want to Marble games kind of taking out
competing against one another. If one comes out in September,
one comes out the end of October.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
Like you said, it's probably gonna be a one game.
I think Spider Man, if you do everything in Spider
Man in the twenty eighteen thirty, I think it's like
a forty hour game. That's probably it's probably half of that, yeah, probably,
so who knows.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
But if you're anticipating it, you're at to wait a
little longer. But we are in an era now where
games will get trailers before they even started production and
they're like, huh, let's go on on here.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
I'm curious it's eve. Anybody actually remembered it was happening,
because I forgot until I saw it.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
I'm always like, oh, yeah, that's a one game. I
don't know anything about it, but it's delayed. Okay, cool,
it's a great trailer. Watch the trailer, very cinematic. You
put an eight K on your laptop if you got it,
Put a K if you want. But that'll be in
the far distant future. But something that's probably also in
(40:26):
the far distant future, in the far distant space of
our galaxy, maybe a different galaxy. The Mass Effect TV series. Yep,
that's the theme song. Sure, we'll go with that. I
don't remember. But we got news. It was in seven day,
like keV said the other day, Uh, and really out
(40:46):
of Besides the skate crossover where you can get the
N seven shirt as a skin in the game for free,
the only real news we got was about Amazon's upcoming
Mass Effect TV adaptation, where we found out that BioWare
revealed we've been partnering closely with Amazon on the series
and we're really excited with what the talent team over
there is coming up with. The writer's room is going strong.
(41:08):
We got a lot of figured out about how it
fits within the Mass Effect cannon and where it sits
in respect to the new game. Obviously we're waiting for
a new mass effect in their future. The show explore
a brand new story within the universe's timeline, will be
set after the original trilogy. It won't be a retread
of Commander Shepherd's story, because after all, that's your story,
isn't it. Oh that sounds like an opening, like, hey,
(41:32):
you're start a new campaign here the world is yours.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Maybe I asked you think this is a great thing
to do, because I've been saying for the longest time
since since they announce they're going to do a series
one Amazon, like, whoever they show us Shepherd is going
to piss half people of message. Either people will be like, oh,
it's male driven and we Shepherd is a female, or
(41:58):
if it's a revered female, No, this is what content garbage.
You don't need this. So I'm happy to go on
with a totally new story with totally new characters.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
Maybe we know of the Rex well, no, the races
or the species. Look at that, I think you get
a cameo from someone of the mass of the Normandy
Krue But that's it.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
And actually that works actually because Rex and Lear could
have to be a thousand, so they could totally be
in this just like showing up, Hey, what's up. I'm
because I think le Are was canonically like in her
thirties mass Effect and then she could live to be
a thousand years old.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
What I just get to start? I think just connecting
the dots and you're the mass Effect expert, Kevin, Uh,
we know Mass Effect four or whatever the future Mass
Effect game did tease. I think Leara is supposed to
be in it, maybe Rex, We're still working on that game.
But Mass Effect three had three different endings. Now, with
(42:50):
this this show potentially coming out, would you be upset
that they canonized one of the endings?
Speaker 2 (42:58):
No? Because for me, I think the cannon ending is
a renegade ending where you had destroy all the reprit TXT. Yes,
that's the only ending you can get where you get
the end credit scene where you see mass Shepherd take
a breath. So I think that's the cannon ending. I
don't think the synthesized edything is real because when everybody
becomes half synthoid half, that's.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
It's just like no, that would just yeah, well I
don't think so. Yeah. I think fallow the fallout. I
think this is really falling the Fallout playbook, and you know,
I was both being Amazon of doing their own thing
within the cannon. The Fallout TV series obviously, as far
as I know, as far as I can remember, takes
(43:37):
place for sure after New Vegas. Uh, And we'll find
out a lot about that, obviously with the second season
and what is canonized at all that stuff. We'll probably
have some people upset about that. But I think doing
the same thing is great. My main thing is, hey,
you got Mass Effect in Drama. Of that not a
lot of people played half the Mass Effect fans actually played,
copy the same damn playbook. Then you'll sell copies of
(43:59):
that game for days if it's the same, if it's
called mass Effect and Drama the series or something.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
And awesome thing. The thing about that game is the
story is pretty solid. It's just like the graphics weren't great.
They're kind of dated to be on the Xbox Well
that the series with the Xbox one. Xbox one, yeah, yeah,
you kind of did it to be on Xbox one.
PS four, some of the limp sync was off at
some point. The character will show it will just be
eyes in the mouth and kind of be freaky. So
(44:25):
It wasn't that the story was bad. The actual game
itself wasn't great. So you're right, they want to take
that story and say, Okay, these people actually left for
the raper thing happened and went into the future and
light Reais away and say another that's not a bad idea,
because who's to say that that that was one group
that did it in and drama and maybe another group.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Yeah, I think that'd be cool. I do think this
is the smartest thing, like you said, because I mean
everyone's following in love with Ella Parnell. There's no complaint
of like, oh, you're a female character, like compared to
most of the fall All games. We can pick who
you want to be. But like, yeah, dude, probably most likely,
but like this is all right. We're gonna see what happens,
(45:07):
and then they can really just wrap up whatever they want, knowing, hey,
if the Bio Word team is behind it, it can't
if it is in a different galaxy or it's in
the same one, it can't piss off you know, Learra
died or something in it.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
You know, yeah, exactly. Maybe I can see they maybe
making an alien character a main character. That'd be kind
of cool too. Like an a Sorry or Turian as
a main character, or maybe like they can make a
really like gruff and dark and actually have a want
They called Croakin as a main character.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
I don't think so, just because I think I think
the Fallout show, I think why it did so well
is because it's very accessible. I think it's gonna be
it's gonna be a human character, and then it is
like it's gonna start out how Halo kind of starts
out with this, You're on the ship. Here's all the
people you kind of know, and then we'll give you
some color. Then here's the Arbiter, you know, and here's
some random here's all this Courtana and all this stuff
(46:00):
that's Halo. But this I think is all right if
you're gonna have I don't know the species, but a
Garris of Rex that is you know, you introduce Oh
the Victorians was Garris Right's garrison. You know, we've been fighting,
got some for ages, but now we can we trust
them And that's the whole thing of do you trust
that character? And all that good stuff.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
I would like if they went she was what was
the name that trews you? On? Adventure Horror Thing on
Netflix Black Mirror Vandersnatch. I don't wan to go Bandersnatch
with this. And actually, like when the show starts, you
have to pick what you did in the game. Now.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
I think the only thing they need to do that
ties into a game is all right, cool, here's this ship.
We'll just say Normandy will go versa Illes. Is the
new ship or something random? Great, you can now somehow
we've uploaded and we've updated mass Effect and Drameda and
the legendary series for you to play us at that
ship as a skin now.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
Or even something like to if like whoever it is
like the starting crew in the show character they have
to go to the government headquarters and like the Normandy
is like actually like a statue, like they preserved the
entire ship inside this building. What is that? That is
a Normandy? That's where Commendici was. Brave crew, stop stop
the repers. You just go on past that. You mentioned, Hey,
(47:16):
this happened, but we're not going that way, going somewhere else.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
That's true. If anything, I think I'm gonna download mass
Effect and Drameda. I think maybe that'll be the holiday
game you try out this holiday, you.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
Know what, I might be there with you because I
have it on my Xbox. I think it's only like
ten bucks. One.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
Yeah, right now you can buy a new a new
copy of MASSI Effecting Drama for ten dollars. I used
copy if you want to buy physical five bucks.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
So because I said I only played through it once
and I remember the story not being terrible. It's just
that the game around it, which was the actual physical game,
wasn't polished.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
And you know, sometimes you just got to going on
a game knowing it's gonna it's got bad reviews, but
you know what, it's what I make of it, and
I'm gonna make a fuggly looking character and we're gonna
have a good time.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
It'd be I know Crackdown isn't a great game, but
I love Crackdown because I catch up eighty feet in
the air and drop one time of a drug dealer's head. Yes.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
Do I remember the story of Crackdown?
Speaker 2 (48:13):
No?
Speaker 1 (48:14):
But do I remember the experience? Yes?
Speaker 2 (48:17):
I was so happy for Crackdown two, Crackdown three, I
mean eighty three. I remember that. What a time that
stood a line for it.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Well, rists we all make our mistakes, but yeah, it's
a Mass Effect series. That's probably ways off. But like
we said, if it falls the Fallo Up playbook and
sells a bunch of copies of the game, we're good
to go. Really, if anything, they could do a mass
effect Legendary Edition remastered again for PlayStation six, or they
can do a mass effect and Drameda remastered for PlayStations.
(48:48):
You know, is all good?
Speaker 2 (48:49):
And to be honest, like, besides the expanse and maybe
to a degree for all mankind, I really do need
a really good, really good futuristic sci fi star Trek.
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
I've heard the Brave New World, the Brave New all
those strange worlds are good on Paramount. So yes, so bloring, Well,
I heard it's fun. You know, it's okay, It's okay.
We'll get you there, baby, we'll get you there. Don't worry, Oh,
miss so boring talk. Have you heard of a movie
called Galaxy Quest? Maybe just rewatch that for the hundred
times low key, it's dumb, but it's a good dumb movie.
(49:25):
But speaking of movies, our last story, let's talk about it,
Miss Piggy. She's getting a movie and we can all
thank Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Cola Scola. He is
famous for doing the I think It's Oh Mary, that
play on Broadway right now where they're Mary Todd Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Oh, I've seen this before. Yep, I know he is seen.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
Before you got you. So in case you missed the news,
I believe it was Jennifer Lawrence. Yes, was on appearance
on the Lowest Cultues podcast, which is hitting us with
great big news, Thank you, Bow and Yang, saying that
Jennifer Lawrence is working with Emma Stone about producing an
upcoming film that is set about Miss Piggy, but is
(50:11):
a darker movie than most other Muppet movies.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
This is a funny thing to me because Miss Piggy
has always been a difficult character, Like she is really
mean to Kermit, really mean to Kermit but love him
to death, really mean to him. And she has to
be in the front. She has to be the star
she always is, needs to be the center of attention.
So I don't I don't feel like a dark Misspeaking
movie is too far out of the question. This makes sense.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
Yes, so Lawrence did say it is a bleep the
left up movie. It's really dark. It doesn't sound like
a muppet Storry but you know, when you watch it,
you're gonna love it. I think it can work. I think,
if anything, we're looking for ways to revamp the Muppet franchise,
especially for Disney, and I think, hey, if you have
(50:59):
too pro Fike Oscar winners, uh you know, and and
an Tony Award winner wanting to write the movie about
one of your characters, why not let them have the
reins on it.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
I can also envision like a world where like this,
this movie is about a movie within the movie where
Miss Piggy's going for a role and for some reason
she's not in the forefront. And there's some other I
don't know, we'll say Starlet's was maybe this movie in
the forties and fifties. And she she keeps killing people
because they keep kidding rolls for her. She keeps finished.
(51:31):
In the second place, she kills a person, she gets
the roll. That's dark enough for me. I don't think
it'sut of Miss Piggy's realm of possibility.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
Hey, I mean Miss Piggy was frayed for kidnapping and
robbery in The Great Muppet Cares. You don't mess miss Piggy,
you don't.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
You just don't do it.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
That's true. Also, if you remember in twenty sixteen, we
did have that Muppet it was the Muppets like office
comedy show. Remember and Miss Piggy We're going through a breakup, divorce,
and then there was another pig in the picture that
was like a whole adultery thing going on as another show.
I'm like, I should just try and let's just and
see where it goes.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
I remember we watched it pretty regularly when it was
on My Life Faultlas were always kind of like, this
isn't bad. It's not good, but it's not bad. It's
very interesting where they were going with it, very adult Muppets,
kind of weird either way.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
I think featuring on Miss Piggy, I don't know. You
you got to figure out, really how do you apply
it to get people to see it, because obviously, like
our generation kind of is like we have a little
bit of nostalgia for the Muppets, or people older us
are like, eh, they're like grown out of it, don't care.
People youngert us don't even know what it is. I
think that's the only challenge. A Muppet and a Miss
(52:47):
Piggy movie hats in twenty twenty seven, twenty six and
beyond is just all right? Now? How do you make
people care in a world war? Fortnite and roadblocks take
over everything? You know?
Speaker 2 (52:58):
I compared the Muppet's kind of like the Lone Tunes.
They were cool when we were kids, but they've definitely
lost a lot of steam. Whereas, like you know, of course,
with Disney characters, Bicky Mouse can roll anywhere he wants
to and it'll it'll be well received basically, but I
feel like the Muppets and the Looney Tunes have definitely
lost a lot of shine. Generations have gone by each year.
(53:19):
It's kind of sad actually.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Now, Kevin, if you had a favorite Muppet, who would
it be? Sure, Swedish Chef that's good. Uh, why is
there a why? Or just just because.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
Because it's nonsense and I love it.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
Mine would be either it's a tie, it's Fazzy Bear
just because he's there for the walk of wakas the
yuck Yucks. Or yeah, it'd be Rolf L's just there
for a good time. Piano, you know, myther one for everyone.
I can't remember his name, but he goes me me, me,
me me me speaker.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
So basically my Muppets on the ones that make no sense,
those favorite ones. It's just complete nonsense. They don't even
talk words, but they're hilarious. I was like like, I
was like, like the one from The Monomena, the Monomena guy.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Yeah, you will be interested to know more is terrified off.
Sweetam's the giant monster one who is like it's the
one that's got He's got the big mouth. If you've
watched the if you ever went to Muppet Vision, he
was a guy would come out in real life during
the movie.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Oh wow, Yeah, he's actually got yeh.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
Terrified as sweets so much that we didn't even go
into Muppet Vision when she wouldn't because she didn't want to.
I told her that he was gonna pop up.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
She's like, no, no, I'll go anywhere with you.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
Not kidding. She's like any other toddler's scared of, like
the Star Wars Ride or Tyler of r More is
kicking and screaming away from Muppet Vision.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
I mean the Sweetams is there's something you've seen in
nightmares man that is not a they say, only face.
I don't know if his mother love his face because
that's rough.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
But time will tell I hope it does happen. I
hope it isn't just a we're thinking about it, because
a lot of them up a movie and things about
Muppets always like oh, it's a good idea, and then
never happens. You know.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
Yeah, I believe Seth Rogan's working on a Disney Plus special.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
Yes, as a revival of the Muppet Show. I think
Sabrina Carpenter was supposed to be like the first guests
host or whatever they were gonna do.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
I think Seth Rogan attaching anything as a creator right
now is gold, so that maybe actually may breathe some
new life into them, hopefully.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
I think also if you could bring back the Muppet Show,
just not really as an antithesis, but a complimentary to SNL.
So like sn l's on Saturdays, the Muppet Show comes
out on Mondays, and it is the Muppets have a
guest host every week. Think all that, remember all that
came back for hot minute and then we went away
do the same thing and then just have him do
(55:44):
sketches or something.
Speaker 2 (55:45):
I can see that and it could be a low
budget thing.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
It could be Disney Plus. I'll watch it once a week.
Speaker 2 (55:51):
Yeah, And I mean that song gets you every time.
Speaker 1 (55:55):
That just sets me straight. For adults, that's all. That's all.
Teach me how to spell these fans words. Okay.
Speaker 2 (56:01):
And there's the way I think they could do that.
That's like it's Wes and that was clearly for adults.
There's a way that the Muppets could be for the family,
you know what I mean, And it's funny for mom,
dad and the kids. There's a way to do it.
May it may take a lot of work, but there's
a way definitely can make apatable for everyone of all ages. Yes.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
Also, if anything, bring back bring back Between the Lions.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
What a good time between the Lions? Wow?
Speaker 1 (56:23):
Get it? Because there is a reading show and it's
called Between the Lions. But between the lines you get it?
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (56:28):
And the lines were the little bookends for the bookshelf.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Funny speaking of PBS shows on our old podcast Off
Friend Alex, she was Lunet from Lunet and Molly and
the beigcome a couch and she looks just like her.
It was like, you, good job, you killed out, you
did it right.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
If anything, bring back all the nineties PBS Cyberchase, make
that a movie or show again.
Speaker 2 (56:49):
Come on, I'm a dragontail kid. So what kind of said, yeah,
that's okay.
Speaker 1 (56:54):
I don't know why they haven't done the dragon tail
is like live action adaptation, Magic Treehouse. They got all
these out of tations they can do.
Speaker 2 (57:01):
Because dragons is expensive. Everybody like my Game of Thrones
now don't want Q dragons.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Like how to train your dragon pretty much just copy paste.
You could go, that's a good.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Point, yeah, how to train you dragons, how to make
cute dragons. But in real life, that's a good point, just.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
Saying, Hollywood hire us.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
We have ideas, we have ideas, we have notes.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Most of the time is can we pay the licensing rates? Also,
this is a side tack. It's not really a news
It is a news story, but not like a big
news story. Apparently the rights to Roger Rabbits went back
to its creators, so now we might give a Roger
Rabbits thing somewhere that's not Disney at all.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
I also thinking another thing forgot in my what you're doing? Uh,
the Percy Jackson trailer. They took my advice. They spent
some money in season two.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
That is the trailer I forgot to put on the docket.
You stand corrected. Maybe we'll talk about that on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
I watched that trailers like they must have heard our
episode of me screaming into the hoigh hends. Give them
more money. They can make a better show because they
don't on the water. Uh they're fighting on a boat
and there's a lot of water, so that set wasn't
cheap wherever they were shooting it at.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
I said, these kids are growing. Maybe they're putting the
budget on this. Sorry any any jerk, and we failed
you today. Uh, well, we'll be back Thursday then talking
about that. We'll be talking about Dispatch his finals episodes
as well. Hopefully we'll get to play that. But that
does it for us today.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
Talk about just some things we want to see happen
in the near future is pretty much the theme of
this episode.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
And put up, put up put us a pinning things.
Maybe right before we get the Avengers doomsday trailer, uh
supposedly attached to Avatar fire and ash. Maybe we'll do
a room around up everything we've heard about this movie.
Speaker 1 (58:43):
It's true or not, that's all it's called. But we
will be back on you said later this week. Giving
you that nerdy news you need to know, but if anything,
keep it locked at Infinite Underscore Pods on the Instagram
or the x come give it to you.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
You can also be part of the conversation part of
the show twitch dot tv or YouTube dot com slash
Infinite Underscore Pods as well. But as always, my name
is Hoodie and I'm Kevin and you have officially listened
to this Commander Shepherd filled episode of What.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
Kevin Isis on Infinite ho Come, I'm Commander Shepherd. That's
my favorite podcast.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
When you said that
