They make me happy. Jot skis you guys. But now
that you can see and hear and wherever we are,
fun fact you actually, if you go to the podcast
page on iTunes or iHeart, hopefully it sounds better. I
know a lot of people said, hey, there's a lot
(03:19):
of ads on here. Hopefully I fixed it with this episode.
So if you listen to audio version of podcasts, hopefully
you didn't have to listen to a lot a lot
of ads before we started talking this time.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
And so you know we have nothing to do with
those ads on any podcasts versus they just happened.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Sorry, just name the game.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Holiday season. Guess what ads found out people listen to
podcasts and that's where they don't getting now.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Because people people people like like to shop albums and
smaller these days, and sometimes you gotta go a little
further to get to those stories than you do just
one of the one big box on it has everything.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
You gotta go here, go there, So put on a podcast,
put on your boys. We help you out, We help
you out.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
But we always start the podcast probably something we like
to call what you're doing. We're talking about the show,
the movies, we were watching, games, we've been playing, lives,
we've been living. Because it is Monday, Kevin, you get
to go first, but started off with what was your
good your greatest at least this year Cyber Monday or
Black Friday. Deal that you found doesn't have to be
(04:16):
this weekend, could be the whole month because I know
they went on sale earlier.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
By the way, so you told me checking my shirt,
that's that's kid Snap. By the way, I know that
was there, Kevin Snap. That's what it is. Yes, No,
that's cure. That's right. Yeah, that mean uh for me
maybe right here, that's where I don't anyway, I think my.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Best one and I won't say who was for yet,
cause they may be watching this podcast. But I was
able to snag a laptop for somebody under under four
h and fifty dollars, like a lot under, and I
was surprised to the point where it's like I'm becoming
an old man, where it's like.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
That was my day.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Laptops cost a thousand dollars Like I never thought I
was a laptop for under you know, four hundred dollars.
But I guess we're in that world too, because now
you can get a few five tvre dollars two, so
things are getting a little easier to produce. I guess
maybe we're finally starting to get back to some rum affordability,
hopefully for.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Those kinds of things.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
But yeah, I'm happy to see happy that I got that,
and I'm also can't wait to see their face on
Christmas morning because they have no idea of getting it.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
My favorite thing to do for forgift giving is to,
let's say somebody asked, me, Hey, keV, can you can
you get me this computer bag Christmas?
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Probably computer bag, but then you want a computer back,
and you finally trig your favorite candy.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
I got you I got you.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
You didn't suspect that your whole favorite bag of good
old Kevin over here.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
He knew, he knew.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
And then my other favorite bye actually was this is
for me on on Black Friday on a postition network.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I bought tech In three.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
For how much five dollars that's worth it worth it?
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Teching three is Teching.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Three was actually close to making it on my on
our ten Games That Define Your List from back.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
A couple of episode listen to that last week.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, it was like my first foray into fighting games,
fully because I was not. I played Street Final Super Tenna,
but wasn't that good at it. But Teching was one
I actually got really good at. So it's happy to
get that and playing that to put back some nostalgia. Also,
I'm terrible at it now it's really good hand.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah, I had to put on easy. I got put
on easy. I can't have my family see me like this.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
That also actually spurred me on to actually going and
by taking eight as well, because I was eighteen dollars,
so I bought two tekends so that was cool.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
There you go, there you go.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Other than that, as far as the Holly Weekend goes
it wasn't that glamorous for me. I had to work,
so I worked Thanksgiving him Black Friday, unfortunately, uh, and they.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Were both pretty stressful days of work.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
We had a call out on Thursday, so we had
to shuffle some things in our programming wise because they
were kind of lynchpin for us for that day. Was
kind of important, yeah, for covering live news. And when
that person down there said, well what do we do?
I figured that out. And that same person called on
on Friday as well, but by that time we had reinforcements.
But the other side of that was, I guess total traffic,
(07:15):
which is in your building, decided not to work on
Friday for the first two hours.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
You don't need that.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
So that was the thing.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Sure traffic on Black Friday. Who wants to know what's
going on? I don't know wing it. So yeah, that
was kind of fun to navigate. And also because of
our staff shortages. Your boy was on the board in
the studio from ten o'clock in the morning to about
six thirty.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
And I was a little, a little start with attitude
that a little starty.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I was.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
I was my normal bubbly self.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I was.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I was a little a little grumpy, A little grumpy.
So yeah, that was my Thanksgiving to the point. Even
on Thanksgiving when I went to my niece's house for dinner,
I was won her basement and kind of crashed out himself.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
I was tired, I was tired.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I need to sleep.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I had one plate and thankfully one of the we
this is my little my little cousins. She's she's she's
just so motherly that I can she's only like ten.
I can give her to Kira and not have to
worry about her. She was there, so was like half
fun with not you.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Then on the weekend, I watched Ohio States sus Michigan
on Saturday. And I watch the game every year.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's big. It's a big game. It's the game.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
It's like one of the oldest college football robberies in
the in the country. Ohio State one O Hi, oh,
let's go buy guys.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Awesome. So that was cool. Of course we get into it.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I had to actually actually to rob her first because
we had company over on Friday for Leah and I'm
not really usually comfortable watching shows like Stranger Things when
she has coming out. I don't know what their parents
like them watching their house.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
I don't want to be.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
So when Lee is home with us, she knows, like
when you see somebod get shot in the handle TV,
that's just TV, that that's not right to do. Don't
do that here words, she knows, but I don't know
that for other people. So we waited for her to
go home home to watch Stranger Things, and it was
almost six o'clock. But you know, now it gets dark
at five, so six is like ten o'clock sometimes. So
(09:09):
I had to propulation with a mountain deal to actually
get through Strange Things on Friday nights. Saturday night that
was fun because you usually be going to get stacks
and I was like, no, no, to get this mountain deal.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
You're going to get you a monster.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
I've seen the run times. You're gonna need it.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I don't know who is in your relationship, honey, but
out of our relationship is the one of full sleep
ing movies all the time.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Like I'm watching something we're doing it must be a.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
You're talking about, and I always look over and she's
always saying, like, god, Dan, I got rewinded, and wake
you up.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
I don't know. This time was like got her a monster,
said chuck this, we're going in all.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Four for tonight, but she said, upset stommy.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
She actually did still fall asleep during the last one. Okay,
stood up, lockdown, It's okay, vergoes strong.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
We tire out the night. I look, I get you
a monster. But so we watched that on Friday and
Saturday night. That was all and then, of course, as
phones do, when I got on TikTok hour after I'm
watching it, every TikTok was about stranger things like I
went down that rabbit hole all day.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
And then Sunday was a normal day.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
At the Thanksgiving dinner number two because we had go
to get left doors or at my in lost house
because they always have too much food. So I think
they said, today is the last day you can simply
eat it's even leftovers and not be looked at kind
of weirdly, so you can have those in your fridge.
Today's day to morrow after him, and then uh, today
was a dad day. I had to take a lead
to Dennis, make dinner all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
So yeah, that was my Thanksgiving weekked what about you?
But there you go.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
So mor and I survived the headish six hours on Wednesday,
even though we left at nine o'clock at nine am,
so it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's okay.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
But pro move for us for Thanksgiving was we left
at seven am, seven thirty am on Sunday, got home
ten forty five. Maybe that's how long it should be
to get from Virginia Beach where I live in Arlington.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Isn't that like life sucking traffic? I was like, oh god,
it actually hurts.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
It was the main culprit was And if you've been
to Hampton Roads seven five seven Chichia, Hampton Roads Bridge
Tunnel and or the Monitor Merrimack. The thing was so
my little my Google GPS was saying, hey, you know
HRBT is pretty busy. We're going to take you through
(11:23):
some side roads that historically you take the side roads
they think they're faster. Google things, it's faster, it is not,
because you're end up waiting at stop lights and stop
signed yeah, trying to get into the HRBT. So we
get into pretty much the signal of you're in Hampton
Roads is the highway looks different compared to where you
were in Williamsburg. Essentially, if you buy the Beast Pro
(11:44):
shop you get it. If you've been there, you know.
But so we get there. The science says HRBT doesn't
tell you how long it takes to get through that
to get to the ocean front monitor Merrimac, Oh, thirty
five minutes to get to the ocean front, which you know,
that's deep Virginia, that's the edge of Virginia Beach whatever
on the on the ocean. I was like, probably not
a good sign that the sign doesn't have anything, because
(12:06):
probably over three digits and the sign can only account
for two digits. And then I corrected my GPS and said, oh,
that's ninety minutes to get through the HRBT. So he
said modern Merrimack please, But everyone else did too, So
that ended up being forty five minutes. But you know,
it was okay, it's traffic this Thanksgiving. It makes sense.
But pro tip leave early seven o'clock. You're golden. That's
(12:28):
a time move.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
I think the UH governor say go early and stay late.
Then that's how you deal with traffic.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Oh, so I will say this, and there's a little
hoodie rant the damn express lanes that are by the
American Leeding Bridge aka Kevin. When you go to Tyson's
Corner they shit because they opened up last week and
it costs you ten dollars to go from that just
to sixty six, which is Shorkly is like three miles. Yeah,
on the normal highway, like if there's no traffic, it
(12:57):
just takeing like six minutes.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
And I called it.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I was like, hey, first day that that opens, and
I was, you know, two weekends ago, technically going to
be accidents as soon as I passed by it on Wednesday.
Accident accident, accident because people trying to get over and
not knowing it's an express Liane. But anyway, that's express line, man.
That's game was good. We made the mac and cheese
from teeny. We made the sweet We made a sweet
potato castroll. We made a corn castrole. Then that was
(13:24):
pretty good. It was actually more like corn bread more
than a cast role. We bought a pie from Marlington,
the chocolate pie that actually I thought was pretty good.
Everyone hated it at first, but I kept seeing everyone
eat it, so I'm like, Okay, well you don't like it,
I guess, but you keep eating it.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
No, I've never been a pie guy. I'm more of
a kick person. I don't know what that says about me.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, I think everyone kind of is. I think it's
just like, all right's Thanksgiving, you gotta have a pie. Yeah,
I didn't know pumpkin pie was custard based. Slash you
need a fridge or each pumpkin pie, like, don't leave
pumpkin pie out about the.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Videos, people think they potato pie and actually pumpkin pie.
It was the same color. And it's always surprised.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
And yams and sweet potatoes are the same thing, and
everyone's going to tell you that lie that they're different.
It's the same damn thing.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Oh yeah, shut up, shut at you.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Besides that, it was fun. We did get to watch
because we stayed at my grandparents' house, so it helped
them with like odds and ends and stuff. Uh, they
wanted to watch Wicked, so we watched the first Wicked
with them and so more and I like sing along
and my grandma she falls asleep third movies, which is
totally okay. They're older now so they can they have
the right to do that. But when she was awake,
(14:32):
she liked it. My grandpa, on the other hand, you
could tell he was like, I don't know, I like this,
and how he knew he liked that movie at the
end of it. Historically he didn't pay attention to the beginning,
because we all didn't when we first saw the first Wicked.
Is that it's part one, it goes to be continued
at the end. He's like, Oh, I'm like, oh, so
you liked it. He liked it enough you wanted to
(14:54):
see what happened.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
That's funny. It's funny.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Actually, listen, I've been listening to a What's of the
Oz podcast over the over the weekend. They posted it
because of Wicked were good coming out last weekend.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah, so I've I've been kind of deep diving too.
Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Law also listened to our Wicked review with our wives.
Also the other pro episode you want to go to
that's the second episode from now Ago. But yeah, beyond that,
really good time. Obviously, delivered to the beach, things hit
all the hot spots, Black Friday Deal, Cyber Monday. Wise,
we didn't get more new coffee pot. She needed a
new coffee and espress everythinging and that was on sale today,
(15:32):
so it was great.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
What else did we get that was on sale this weekend?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Oh? Yeah, so more and I actually got a hockey
jersey for someone in one of our family is not
going to say who in case they listen, or someone
that knows them was listening. And we bought it at
Dick's probably like two weeks ago. It was one eighty
on Black Friday. This whole weekend it was one thirty,
and we're like, what do we do? We returned that one,
bought the other one, but being about to boom looking
(15:58):
at it, we say forty five.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
You know, hey, in this world right now, if you
can save it, I say, do it. Don't feel bad
about it. I don't. I do not.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
They don't know how much a jersey was that value,
but it was cheaper.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
We can actually the most expensive of all sports arches.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Because they keep you the warmest, thickest of materials. It's
got the longest vin and video game wise and movie.
I don't think I bought anything that wise. I think
I'm saving myself because I learned my lesson last year
when I asked for a lot of games for Christmas,
and I go buy games now during Black Friday. I
don't play the games I asked for Christmas that people
(16:34):
bought for me. You know That's why now.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
I don't usually only buy old games because new games
hopefully maybe we'll get a review code and talk about it.
But also otherwise, at least you I'm good for two
or three place shoul give cards a year Christmas, on
Birthday and Father's Day.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
So that's wait I did.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I did Stumble Upon Kingdom Come Deliverance to TikTok this weekend.
Oh but I'm like, no, we as for Balder's Gate
three for Christmas, so we can't have two RPG games
that we're gonna suck our life to play in twenty
twenty six. I bet you they have optic controls too,
like oh yeah, stupid Halo controls or be his crowd.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
No, it's the stick Halo one. Get it together, Get together, Halo,
get your stuff together.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Come on, That's what I've been doing. That's what Kevin's
been doing, you Calso let's know what you've been doing
at Infinite Underscore Pods Nintendo Mike. He's prepping for Destiny
to Renegade's expansion, which is kind of its Star Wars
expansion that launches tomorrow. Good for you. Also, good for
them to release an expansion like that during the holidays,
because that's when you hit like people to want to
play it and probably pre download it again or redownload
(17:39):
it again.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Speaking of gearing up for launches, I actually did something
else of it. Let's tell you what you're doing. I
redownloaded Assassin's Creed Shadows because I kind of want to
play that.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Uh, Kevin, we ain't to talking about that assesss Creed
attack on Titan Cross. So there's let's kind of it's
time for the news. First things first, thanks for a
son of really in case you missed it, I'm not
pulling an article because you can just really say it
all right now, Assassin's Creed Shadows, I think starting on
(18:10):
the twenty four last week whatever through I believe the
holidays through like Christmas and New Year's is having an
attack on Titan crossover with the game.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
So it's a whole quest in the game.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
And lo and behold, it's a lot of paid costumes.
If you want to look like anybody, if you want
to look like Micause from Attack on Titan.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yeah, we press we move up a game like it
right hand corner. I'm like this, look here, click here quick.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
I'd be seven hundred helos. Like, huh, helos, what's that?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Now I'm playing Assassin's Creed for the last ten years.
I don't know what a helo is, but yeah, whatever.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah, So the interesting thing is obviously the site. It's
a post game thing or am I. I don't know
if it can pop up organ I think it could
pop up organically during the game, but you know, everyone's
kind of beating it by analys didn't get it and
asking for all it is where Essentially, uh do you
know about Kim? I want to spoil for you if
you're if you're trying to play it, essentially you're tragging
(19:12):
somebody who you know, worked. I gotta remember all the names.
Attack on Titan. I kind of like had it all
and then I kind of put it aside and I
started Dragon Ball for you know, the little Little Soldier,
the Battalion whatever, and so she stumbles upon it. Oh,
there's this ancient organization in Japan that you know has
a Titan. They're going to activate a Titan, which is
(19:33):
you know, the whole which is a good chunk of
the TV show and the anime. Uh So, the main
level is, all right, someone becomes a Titan and then
the only fun party have this run away from the
Titan and that's the end of the mission.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
It didn't interest me enough to be downloaded it, but
then actually re downloaded it, and then I forgot a upgrade.
Did you get that's free? You get a bowstass. That's
pretty fun.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Actually, that's the one DLC Kevin's said.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yeah, but Assessin's creed is usually not usually known for this,
but remember Intestin's creed or is able to cross over
a final fantasy. You got like a weapon and a
sword of.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Shield Chokovo in one of them too, I think. Or
you can make the camp camel or something look like
a chocobo.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Yeah, that's Organs as well. Yeah so, and that was
more just like a walking walk in the desert. You
see a shooting Star, go to Shooting Star and get
all your stuff extent of it. But I kind of
like this crossoverder thing. They kind of do it with
other games now it's kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Well, and that's interesting. This this isn't a game, This
is you know, ip of you know, a TV series
and anime, which, hey, Ubisoft, don't make the tack On Titan.
We don't need you to make Detach the Titan game.
Like I know, there was one that existed like ten
years ago that everyone was playing that was like mostly
like a Steam game. But uh, yeah, that's not what
(20:51):
we want because I think it's the graphics. Yeah, Kevin,
you go ahead.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
I'll say next. You wanted to though, because I feel
like Attack on Titan is a very don't say toy.
I feel like that's a.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Game game that it really is. There was I don't
only look up Attack on t there was a game.
It was probably had to be Titan game.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Attack on Titan we'll released in twenty sixteen. It was
a hacking slash mainly like you were zooming up, which
I mean that's really what you want that game to be.
Zoom up. Yeah, beat a Titan. It doesn't have to
be ten hours. It could be ten hours long. That's
all I ever want to do is just mess with
Titans like that in the in the inner Walls and
all that stuff. Yeah, I think it is interesting, Like
(21:29):
Attack on Titan. I think isn't a period now where
this is crossed. It's you know, the show is over,
uh to a degree. Who knows if they'll get you know,
a Dragon Ball version, Well there'll be a Kai and
all this other stuff that happens to it later. It
has the music, the musical which is a thing. It
has the concert, which is that they've been playing. They
played soundtrack, which I sound pretty good actually, uh, and
(21:50):
then obviously this so it's interesting to see how Attack
on Titan continues on posts now being over.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Technically, Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Think the manga is a manga still in fact she's published. Well,
it looks like it was a karent as of twenty
twenty one. It looks like Yeah. But I feel like
this is one of those things where the IP is
really good, but it can only going. It's only going
(22:18):
to cross over and get bigger in America with the
right person.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, and I think this idea was was more of
a half baked It's what a lot of people online
have said. It was half baked, and they just released
it in time for the holidays for people to buy
the Mikasa outfit really for one of the characters, not
both of the characters. Only one of the characters kids
a soldier battalion outfit.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
I think it's because too, if you play the the
original mission line of Shadows, the end of the game
is I feel like the story is more Yakusa based
it's more satisfying, whereas now it just kind of ends.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
So maybe that's why this is just give her something.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, I think I feel like the posting con is
more base tow us that way, which which is cool
because in the beginning of the game it was not
way heavy. After everything happened with him, it kind of
got more about him, which.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Is fine, totally fine.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
But she's a cool character and it deserved her do
and once she learned how to use her, she's a
lot of fun. But it doesn't be you know, been
playing it as a ya and just kicking down a
door feedback.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Is awesome. Yeah, I mean, hey, it's free.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Obviously you can pay for this gain, but it's something
to do if you want to be in the world
of Shadows again. Maybe, like keV said, he can try
the new bo staff out and all that good stuff.
I think there was rumored to be more DLC, but
I think it's been canceled as of right now. But
you never know. And I do think Shadows has been
an interesting story because it came out, people liked it,
people don't like it, and it kind of just there
(23:53):
is what I've kind of inferred from this year it's
not like winning Game of the Year awards, but it
happened finally.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
You know, I think it's been financially successful and at
least critically, it's not it's not like panned or like
mixes like. It's been positive mostly, but it's done nothing
to help you still struggling. So that's the thing that
it did. It didn't boost an entire company. Like you know,
I'm trying to think of the game the top of
my head right now, the way that goes kind of
(24:22):
boosted soccer punch, soccer punch. Yeah, like people are always
ready for the next sucker Punch game. No, nobody really
cares right now, but the next be Soft game.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Said, we all know, we all know, we're just get
we're getting the facts out Wars. We wrap up the story.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
U.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
But yeah, speaking of a cross Yeah, yeah, I mean, hey,
it's it's probably a perfect ta up game ass for
the holidays. I think there's a lot of games this
year that hey, maybe you didn't get to it. Shadows
is a good one asked for. I think it's probably
on sale places I've kind of I think I've seen,
but yeah, overall playing for you to play this holiday season.
And which couldn't be include that one but one game
(25:04):
that has a storied past. I would say with everybody,
far Cry as good a TV series in the near future.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Kevin another game like okay, if we say Ratha Titan
is gametic, far Cry is TV etic.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
That makes sense, just like also funny they are a
both Ubisoft stories. I didn't realize that at the same time,
but far Cris also owned by Ubisoft. You forget it,
but it is. It's the Ubisoft formula of climbate tower,
get it and trade your collectibles in for a little
purse or a little walling or something like that.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
They got a Tremonda game that none of that in
the last ten years. That's true.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
But according to last week this happened. I think right
around like Monday or Tuesday last week. Far Cry is
taking it's Mayhem to Affects and Hulu obviously because it
still does effects on Hulu as Alien Earth's Noah Holly
and always Sonny in Philadelphia's Rob Mack remember he changed
his name from Macklelhenny to mac. Uh will be starring, Uh,
(26:03):
We'll be both producing the show and Rob Mack will
be starring in what will be an anthology series.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
That's interesting.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Noah, Holly is like FX is go to guy. HM
did a good job Elien Earth. Everybody loves him for
show name the name of the X Men show.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
He did Legion, Legion. Yeah, he's a really good show runner.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
And I feel like this show fits well on what
FX is with their shows that Yes, this game.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
I mean if you think for Fargo is what I
kind of think. I didn't think he did he do Fargo?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Right? Who did Fargo? Oh?
Speaker 1 (26:40):
No, Holly didn't do far Okay, cool? No, bring him
out there. But I think follow that lines, this show
will be pretty good. It's kind of built for itself
really the Far Card Games. There's been six mainline ones
if I'm correct right, six yes, six main ones, and
(27:00):
there's been a lot of spinoffs in a lot of
DLCs and all that good stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Beyond did I play that one? There's a lot of
ones I'm like, did I play that?
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Did I play that one?
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Did I play that one?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
But this the plan for each season the show is
to take on a new setting similar to the Games.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Uh Mac will be in the starring role.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Who knows that that's just for the first season or
in every role details obviously aren't released, they're still under wraps.
But I mean, I think, like keV said, this could
be great, Like Nintendo Mike said, uh, you know which
villain is in the question for the series? Which one
do you start off with?
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Kevin? Which one do you start off with?
Speaker 1 (27:42):
If you really want to hook people into Far Cry
as a series, because Alien Nerves worked, Legion Word Fargo worked,
what what's the one you need to start with?
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I can't remember because miss Alongo, what was the one where, like, uh,
you would have protagonist and you're trying to like a
beast that far Car three?
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yeah, I'm going to tell you right now.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Sure, I have no idea because I have not played
any of the far Car.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Games far because I feel like if that is whoever
the building was in that one, I can't remember who
it was, who like, whoever the villain was in that one?
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Over the boss.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
I feel like that would be a cool way to
introduce you to the world what Far Cry is. If
you have a really really bad guy, then the good
guy who could turn to my animal basically that that
kind could lock you in say Okay, what's gonna happen
next week? You know what I mean kind of like
when beginning of the Alien Earth, you see like the
the Android kind of locking himself anything while the Alien
is trying to get him and kind of well, then
(28:39):
crashed into this earth. What happens now, you know what
I mean? Kind of lock you into what's gonna happen next.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
I think the funny thing is, obviously, I think Farkar
three is kind of what made the franchise become what
it is, of different iterations like that, and then obviously
having spin offs. Fark three had Vos as the villain
who who is played and voiced by Michael Mando, who
is Scorpion in Spider Man Homecoming in case you familiar,
(29:06):
get him would be cool. I think maybe do that
because I mean that's what kind of made the franchise
what it is. I do think you also have I
think it was full. Obviously John Carlo was far Cry six.
I don't think you need to pull John Carlo see
it again. I think Pagan min is a good one,
which was far Cry four, which is where you went
(29:27):
to an Eastern inspired country and he was like the
deaspit over it and it was pretty and I remember
that being like, oh yeah, if you didn't get off
leave the table to start the game, the game would
have ended for you. You would have took anywhere you
needed to go and the game would have ended.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
That's funny.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Do you think this game should go the route of
Fallout and also be like, we know what happened in
a game, but we're doing a story it's adjacent to
the game, but not actually the game itself.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
I mean, I think that would it depends like an
anthology obviously would assume are they're going to do a
new one every different season. I do think you need
the villains. I think you can. You can do whatever
it does that be the same story as much, but
it needs to be all right, here is vas, Here's
big and man here's I think Far Cry five was
the like the cult leaders, like it needs to be
(30:18):
those that had something people can latch onto because I
think Far Cry as much as we know the formula
of Far Cry, which is Chase Tower, you know, do
all this stuff like us a formula people mostly remember
from them those games, the villains and obviously the crazy
stuff it gets up to is the Dalcason all the
good stuff.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah, so you think that this this this needs show
needs to be very, very character driven in like whoever
they get to be that villain, whether it's Rob Mac
or they get uh, shoot, was our guy from rope
rope on? Uh No, No, we gotta pay pet Crane
the bad guy.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Uh Ben Mendelsn, Ben Mendelssohn.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Somebody like Ben Mendelssohn needs to be at least in
one season of this is to be like, I am
the villain. I am, and then again this kind of episode, no,
I am the villain, so like acting off.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah, maybe that is how you build the season. I've
never seen Fargo, but from I always know it's like,
here's the notable casting we have for this season.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Same thing with like.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
American horror story to degree, if here's our notable casting
and the cast around them. Partially how you be pulled
in the show is who is the starring role? Rob Mack.
I don't know if really, I mean, obviously always Sunny
has a staying power more of I would see it
more as a comedic relief, but who knows.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I never watched his show on Apple TV, but I
heard that was good as well. The one about the
video game studio, Oh, mythic question.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Job isn't job that one? Kevin, how dare you not watched?
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I watched his episode, Uh, Mathic Quest was good. I
do think it kind of overstated it's welcome, and I
think the pandemic season hurt it a lot. It was like,
oh okay, but then after that it's kind of just
been It's done now, which good. Hey, it got to
finish on its own terms. But I think it is you.
I think having Noah Holly might help refine some of
(32:10):
the wacky ideas, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
I think Holly is like to catch off for this,
Like he's so good at organizing the ideas of Like
I said that, he did the X Men show Legion,
he did another ip in the Alien after Earth Ninth,
handling another I P and of course Fargo was from
a movie in the.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Mid nineties, I believe.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
So he's really good and like kind of taking what's
already been done and then reworking into something new for FX.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
And then FX.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
The cool cool thing about FX totally is all their
show is nothing crazy.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
To do what they want, basically, he.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Said, and it works or it doesn't work. It just depends.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Exactly that will do what you want. But this on
you son, it sucks. Sorry you canceled.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
He not you.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Lil Dicky had a show. It was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Actually, so yeah, I didn't watch season three. I watched
first two seasons. I've watched season three.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Pretty good, good Atlanta. That happened, and Donald Glover wanted
to do a show. And we have so many famous
actors from that show.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Now, Lana was really good. Paperboy, paper Boy, all about
the paper Boy. You need money, make it baby? You
a paper tree? Oh no, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Kevin has a fake song. He knows full lyrics too.
All right, all right, but Kevin, that's a ways a
way probably like twenty twenty seven, if anything. But something
has happening right now. It's happening in this moment because
it came out last week. We got more coming out
in like twenty four days from now, and then in
(33:30):
twenty nine, twenty thirty ish days from now.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Stranger Things five, Volume one.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
We've both officially watched it. So let's break it. Oh
so you had four episodes of the watch over your
Thanksgiving break and I'll tell you what you think. Oh yeah,
Stranger Things out. Let's all watch it together. No, it
was a fight for me to get the TV to
(33:58):
watch Stranger Things last night and to day because of
how many people didn't want to watch it in my family,
So that was an interesting time.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Did more watch it with you?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
For Mora did the thing where she said, I don't
want to watch it, but ever so slightly More's right here, mores.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Me more of the same because a lot of times
puts some shows I don't want to watch that no
time of like, what's this show mine?
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Just married to Kevin?
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Some would say some some would say it might have
married a hoodie. So we're gonna go to non spoiler
for the first four episodes for a couple minutes, and
we'll get into all the spoilers because there is a
good amount of spoilers with these first four episodes. Uh.
Episode I think was roughly about an hour. The last
one was an hour and twenty six minutes. So get
(34:44):
ready because that means probably the second volume is gonna
be a lot.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
And I do know just before the podcast they announced tomorrow, Uh,
the on sale tickets will happen for movie theaters to
watch the finale on New Year's even that weekend, So
tomorrow is your day in the US and Canada, if
you want to go watch in a movie theater instead
of your home entertainment system.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
I'm to look into that.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I think, on you know, January second, you don't want
to go to work, Just take the day off, go
go watch changing things and thee I might do that.
I'm like, hey, Warra, I'm gonna bounce out. I'm just
gonna go watch a Netflix show in a movie theater.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
It's January second. It was a Friday to it, because
there's no point going to work on a second.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
There's no point going to work on second. They're gonna
try and make you go to work on second.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Just just use the day.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
You know you're at the day now, you're at the
part now of the year. We're like, I have extra
days I didn't use. Just go ahead and take off
the second. You know, Friday ain't gonna be nothing. I
took off the second.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Maybe at least a half day on the second. Maybe.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Oh yeah, So Kevin, let's do just our our both opinions,
and if we rewatched anything or not. I guess since
I'm talking, okay, going right now, I did not rewatch
anything I wanted to, but my Netflix crapped out. I
figured it out literally this weekend. That helped out. So
I rewatched I think every TikTok, almost every entertainment channel
(36:07):
I had a recap in some form. Watched a bunch
of those, and then I thought it was great. Netflix
needs to make it easier for you to rewatch the recaps,
especially when it's a final season. Those show of having
to go to the episodes and more than trickling through them,
it should have been the top five things instead of
me having to scroll through all everything. But I think
that was well worth remembering things for this season, this
(36:29):
part of the season, but overall, I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
I do think it.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
It didn't give me the wow factor, but I think
that's because it's volume one and we still have other
parts to go that nothing of a pop cultural zeitcist
as of right now for me for this for this show.
But interesting, like you think Shange, because I was watching
all the recaps shainy things one, You're like, oh, yeah,
that was eighties nostalgia. It was ages, it was you know,
(36:57):
a girl of shaved hair, shaved hair. Season two? I
remember what two?
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Okay, what about that? Because I remember actually question about
season two and you're like that's not happening.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I was like, oh, shoot, okay. You had Max, you
had the pool scene that was that was season two,
season three. You had the mall that was iconic because
everyone wanted to go to that mall in Atlanta that
they filmed, and it was great. You had scoops ahoy
traded things for uh. You had pineapple wasn't it Fourth
of July pineapple pizza?
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (37:27):
And that was the whole thing this one so far,
So Kevin, That's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
What do you think I really enjoyed it? For me?
Speaker 3 (37:37):
I was there was no way I was gonna rewatch
an entire series. I don't have that kind of time
to do that anymore. Unfortunately, I was gonna watch a
recap of New rock Stars. They had had like a
half hour week recap, but just had a New rock
Stars was another channel Looper. I'm sure you've seen Looper
on YouTube a few times. Their recap was in wasn't
actually in chronological order? Bro pre all the way up
(37:58):
to season four. I'm like, oh, that's perfect. Let me
watch that one.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
And before you continue, this is a pro tip, watch
a recap on the play because it seems like the
play is gonna have a lot play in the season
of the show, which is unfortunate because I was in
New York and tried to convince some more to go
see the play last month and she said no. I
was like, damn it, I knew I should have gone
seen it.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Even me, I keep seeing ask one like, I don't
think you shood a play, you know on station, You're
a Netflix ship.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
I'm not going to Roadway.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Damn it. I'm We'll say.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
I watched the Loop, the Looper recap and then Alicia,
she watched the recaps like he did just on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
She just kept going through watching the recaps.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
I actually did really really enjoy it, and it did
hit me in that cultural Zeitgey's place because of my career.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
Oh yes, I think, all right, yeah, this is the
radio season. But yeah, I think that's the unfortunate thing.
That's only like the first twenty minutes of the first
episode end bye bye. I'm like, all right, now it's
outside the radio station the whole time, because I had.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Actually I liked it, but I had an issue with it.
But we'll get to that in the spoilers.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
I think Perry find no one want to say, but
Other than that, it kind of felt really.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Cool to get back to these characters.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
Because as much as we can we joke about and
complaining about you guys shouldn't need me high.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
They're like forty years old, it's.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Still got crazy, like, oh my gosh, he's well, we've
been with these kids since twenty sixteen.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
And Kevin, even the fifth graders in this show are
looking like they're fifteen year olds, so it's okay.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
First time, I was like, the first shot out of
the episode one was Holly.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
I was like, that's Holly. Holly was like a baby.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
That was not the same actress. I found out it
was a different actress, but I thought it was the
same actress the entire time.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
I was like, damn, let's.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Girl grow up for three years.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
And then to see Hawkins again and to know that
we kind of knew this from the from the trailer.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
It's not really spoiler yet that.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
They're kind of in quarantined by back quarantine memories of
kind of wow, remember we were quarantine twenty wwey. I
was crazy, but I really enjoyed getting all the characters again,
getting getting no Hawkins again, kind of seeing how they're
there's there's season vetans. Now I'm dealing with this with
this issue, and I kind of like that as well.
It's not like when I don't know what kind of
(40:03):
like take it back to like the Mummy where it
feels like in Mummy too, they were something like, oh,
oh my god, what's happening, Like, we mean, what's happening.
You were in the Mummy last time. It's a Mummy
deal with the Mummy. They're like, no, no, we know
what's going on. We got the upside down, we got
back now, we got shotgunshalls, we got reason.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
We know we're doing partially because only the main characters
know still what's going on. Everyone else is like, huh,
there was a no red or giant earthquake that happened
three years ago.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
But all in all, me Anilas, we really we really
enjoyed all all four episodes. In the episode four brought
me to my feet, like gonna lie, we we'll get
through that in a second. That was a great moment
for me. I was like, yes, finally, finally, my boy.
And then even kind of seeing the relationships because as
(40:47):
as certain thing it always does, they kind of section
off the crew. We have eleven and Hopper over here.
We have this crew over here to crew over there.
I kind of like seeing that, seeing Dustin going through
it kind of hurt me a little bit.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
I'm feeling bad him a boy.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
I do feel like Dustin might have been the weakest
character though of this season this volume. Yeah, and we
still have other things so that he might, you know,
he might his episodes might be the next four and
that's just how it worked out with the cuts. But
I feel like he's Dustin just here and just to
be here's here's technical mumbo jumbo compared to how you
know he had Dart I think in season two.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
And yeah, he's been very integral.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
I think it's just, you know, we have such a
big it's not a huge cast. It's probably like twelve
people now that everyone has to have or do. Like
Murray really is just doing deliveries. That's all he's really
doing this season, you know.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
I see, I did see a cool new nickname for
Nancy because Nancy is just like she's she's web specialist.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
Now she's called Nancy Welcome down, Wheeler.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
I thought that was pretty funny. Kevin, out of ten,
Demi Gorgans, what would you give volume one, at least
for right now.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Again.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
And I'm speaking from a very, very like nostalgic part
of this. I watch this remembering like, shoot, when a shot,
I don't.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Have to idiot now. I think I'm gonna give it
an eight.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Honestly, I know it's been a little bit more mixed
to positive going across, but I'm just like, I had
a good time with this honestly all four episodes. I
know there's some wingses in it and all kinds of stuff,
but like just being back in Hawkins, I'm like, this
is great.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
So I'll actually give it a eight.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
I'd give it seven out of ten. Demi Gorgan's I
I like, I like being in the world. I just
like I said, for me this I don't know it
is because we just had to watch it for this
this podcast. Yeah, but I was like, this isn't.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Entertaining me as much as the other seasons.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
But you know, run up that Hill happened at the
end of part one of the last season, so like,
you know, who knows what that will be? Did like
to run up the Hill mentions because I was like
running up that hell the whole time. Every time it
came out. I was like, hell yeah, play Let's song again.
Give Kate Bush or Royalties.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
More time.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
Right, But Kevin, let's get into full spoilers and we're
gonna jump across some of the episodes with the spoilers
because a lot of the plot lines gonda happen and
evolve over the four episodes. So this is your warning
if you haven't seen change of things. We gave your
non spoiler thoughts. Kevin spoiled a couple of things you
didn't realize, but I paid attention. Don't worry. Uh So,
full spoilers are ahead. You could posit it come back
(43:13):
to us after you watch them. It's only four episodes.
It's like four and a half hours. You could do
that this weekend.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
Yeah yeah, uh first spoiler for me again, I liked
that this was a radio season, but again for the
realism in me.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
I was like, she's talking over the track. You don't
do that. You learned that the.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
First day of old radio, Kevin is the eighties. They
do whatever they want. That's our theme song.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
No, it's ridiculous that actually, Kevin.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
That's the life.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
You listen to Elliott in the morning, so he plays
on somebody knows though somebody.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
Oh, he plays songs, people know he's talking over it,
So that's a radio quam. So I say that one
is a didna, and that's what the canceled.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
I will say, it's funny. I went to a broadhead squad.
I was pretty old.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
I actually used that board she was using. I was like,
oh my gosh, I used one of those.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
That's crazy. Well.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
I think the main the main thing I've seen from
radio people is they just clapped and applauded that they
had headphones on when they were talking on the radio.
That was really cool because typical radio anything in radio.
Look at Turboman, there was a Netflix radio Christmas brom Com.
They're just talking off no headphones at all, Like how
they know when they're going to commercials, when the song
starts all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
That Christmas movie actually didn't even have an actually real console.
It was like a recorld mixing board you get from
Bill's music. It was like, dude, that's not what we used.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
It's just the keyboards.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Basically.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Yeah, this being the radio season, they're very I think
the last season would be the pizza season.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
I think I remember them doing.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
Like they had the frozen pizzas and everything that was
the big for last season. Yeah, you can buy a
radio shirt or sweater and buy all the logo weight,
which is pretty cool. But it was interesting.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
I was like, all right, I guess it makes sense.
Say no. The radio person left and they just said.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
We're gonna work on the radio station.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
I didn't like they played upside down by that. I
did like. I was like, oh, we have not played
this that.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
I was smart to say that they realized, Hey, we
never played this song that has upside down in it.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
It's literally wow, I never caught that.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
I never never caught it. But going through some of
the episodes, obviously we love the radio critique. We find
out episodes starts off called the episode first episodes called
the Crawl. Find out that Will was actually caught by
Vecna the entire time and he got infected by a tentacle,
which I was like, these tentacles are a little braceive,
(45:28):
a little pre abrasive with these kids.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
I felt uncomfortable watching that kid. And I'll bring that
up a daan of this about Vecna. Something you right
about that the guy now not that the creole creole
guy guy in general is like not even right about him?
Speaker 2 (45:42):
It's kind of weird.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
They definitely said, hey, I want to be out of
the suit more season. I won't be able to see
my face, damn it. But we cut to uh, now
we know that. I think I lost my headphone on
hold on, Keviny there, I'm here.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
You hear me?
Speaker 1 (45:57):
There we go, Okay, we got We're back. We find
out Like I said nineteen eighty three, Will was did
meet Vecna? So tying Vecna into the entire time, I
think we mentioned last season, We're like, oh, Vecna wasn't
the final boss, but I think Becnas the final boss.
I think you can kind of dictate with these four episodes.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
I've seen something to say that the mind Flayers is
actually controlling Vecna, but I'm not sure. We've seen the
mind flair again this season and.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
That was it.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
That was the thing.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
When watching the recast, I'm like, what happened with the
mind Flair?
Speaker 2 (46:28):
And like, was Vecna control? That was the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
I think that kind of gets lost of having the season,
the seasons be so far apart of like, I don't
remember the true lore of everything. I'm just kind of
going with whatever it tells me, which I did appreciate
they used the tunnels a lot from season two. I'm like, hell, yeah,
bring them tunnels from season two back, and.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
I'm guessing that Eleven was busy being them tunnel They
no way to dig alot themselves.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
There's no way in the world. No.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yeah, that was from season two when Hopper was like
investigating the poison pumpkins and then he went underground. That's
why I was like, And that's when Will drew the
whole map and it looked like the mind flaw or
something was cool, but we caught. It's been eighteen months
after season four. Essentially we find out that the military
has taken over Hawkins.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
They're in quarantine.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
Like keV said, we know doctor k who is Sarah
Connas is the leader. Now Doctor Brenner remember which I
forgot dead died in season four on screen, so it's
confirmed this time. They are created a base camp in
the upside down, which I thought was pretty cool. While
still on the hunt for Eleven, who's training with Hopper
(47:34):
and Joyce. Joyce, Will and the brother for the brother
Jonathan there go.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
They lived with They live with the Wheelers.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
The Wheelers. Remember all the names, remember all the kids' names,
which I thought was fun. It's like, oh yeah, that's
a that's a big old family all come together. It's
still the douche dad who doesn't doesn't give a crap
about anything that's going on.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
What the bacon because he wasn't nice, he got what
was coming to him.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
At the end of this episode, tell you what, Everyone's
got a job and we find out, like keV said,
everyone is still part of the group minus the parents,
minus Willis or Mike's parents are in the know. They're
all training doing investigative of what's going on with the
upside Down, how to prevent and stop vecna. We do
see I thought I thought the actress have played ally
(48:27):
kind of killed it, and she's kind of been the
mainstay of this season so far.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
She's had stuff going on.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
She is seeing someone called We find out mister What's
it Uh, who everyone thinks is his imaginary friend. We
see her perspective, which is kind of cool. Of the
upside Down is through a wrinkling time, which is pretty cool.
That was a that movie that Disney trying to make
that didn't go nowhere.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
That in Tomorrowland's huge failures.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Huge failures over there, Like kes said, we find out
about the Rightdo Station, which is secretly so that Robin, Steve,
Jonathan and Nancy can tell everyone when you know the
military is investigating the upside down, which they call crawls
when they're help help them out. Uh we see Dustin. Yeah,
he's down on his luck, baby, and he's dedicated to
Hellfire Club much akin to a lot of people with
(49:18):
stranger things, saying help my club.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
About a T shirt?
Speaker 1 (49:21):
Got about a Hellfire Club T shirt?
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Yeah, I want you to carry a taser though, because good.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Lord, Yeah, wearing a trench coat. I don't know, weird,
weird helpe it choice, but okay.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
Well this is before that though, so I can kind
of pass it for that, but after nineteen ninety seven,
it's kind of weird.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Yeah, it's weird. Uh see that he's pushing the bullies,
which are the jocks, uh, the football jocks that uh,
Lucas is kind of separated from. He's gone back to
the group obviously because of Max, which he's still visiting
in the hospital. But we find out during the crawl,
yet Popper, things go.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Wrong because of Demigo.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
We're going at tax the crawl. We're not sure why,
but leaves Hopper to take shelter within the upside Down.
We see that Will is kind of telepathically. We find
out connected to the Demi Gorgan's through a hive mind,
and like I said, uh uh, terror opens through the
bedroom of Holly, which kick starts episode two.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
It's like the Demi.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
Gorgans had big Jurassic Park wasto rafter bobs in this
whole series. They're kind of just like they're smarter, it
feels like, and they're just dishes and relentless.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
It is funny though, because you're like, oh, only one
of these was the main villain for the first season
and then they barely killed.
Speaker 2 (50:32):
The first in the first season. I wonder what they made.
I wanted to go to spire that season two? What actually,
how was that Demi Gorgan birthed? You know what I mean?
I don't think that season two if no.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
We only saw the tadpole. We didn't see how they
were birth birthed.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah, yeah, Like what's it come from? Is it like
a dead person? Is it like just insects in the
I don't know if you want to I don't know.
I don't know if you want to know, that's a
point it maybe an episode I don't want to know that.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
We find out episode two the vanish new Holly Wheeler
the demic organ attacks the Wheeler's house injures Mike and
Nancy's parents, even though Karen the mom the hot mom
uh does try to protect Holly to a degree, but
ultimately she does it she's looking like she's fairly dead. Surprisingly,
no one died main character wise this first volume. I
(51:20):
have a feeling that's gonna be different in the second volume.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Well, I mean, let me ask you this, because I've
seen a lot of reviews talking about like they need
to see death.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
Is that a morbid thing to say? Or is that
just what represents? Like what what what? What? What high stakes?
Does battle actually is?
Speaker 3 (51:35):
Because for me, I'm like, if the death makes like
twenty sock at the end of endgame, makes total sense.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
But sometimes I feel like people just want death to
see that. I do feel like Weird.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
Stranger Things has done a lot of the fake outs,
specifically with Eleven and Hopper, because you remember, definitely three
into four we thought Hopper died, and at the end
of Stranger Things one, we thought Eleven died. And it's
I think and they kind of do that a little
bit in episode four, were like, oh, I'm gonna sacrifice
myself for Jane eleven. Like we've been here through that,
You've done that multiple times on this show.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
But we find out.
Speaker 1 (52:09):
Holly's taking the upside down. Eleven does follow her when
her and Nancy catch up. Elevin does reunite with Hopper
as they searched for Holly until they see a giant
wall surrounding the edge of Hawkins, which we find out
uh the end the episode four. It completely surrounds all
of Hawkins and in the center of it is the
d Oe aka Hawkins Lab, which we'll find out in
volume two. Unfortunately what's going on and the lab.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
Is actually where Eleven grew up, right, that's that's yeah,
certainly got okay, second, I thought he was talking about it.
It was certainly in the bags of the army had
but like, no, that that's different than the lab.
Speaker 1 (52:43):
Yeah, you're liked Oe, Like, oh, Hawkins Lab, Okay, that's
what that is. Yeah, we find out while all this
is going on, we do find out Jonathan is trying
to propose the Nancy, but he and Steve are still
kind of button heads, which culminates in the second episode,
but we do find out Nancy and Mike theorized that
mister what's it Holly's imagineary friend. Yeah, that's actually Vecna
(53:08):
in a physical form, but as Henry creole. Like we said,
so the actor can get some more FaceTime, and so
we can get some some jobs, you know, because of
the show.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
I'll tell you what. He is a good casting that's
that's odd looking dude. Uh. He kind of had slender
Man characters.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Because he was one of the he was one of
the head vampires in Twilight, the main Triarchy or whatever.
Speaker 2 (53:32):
You're right, he was. Yep, got someone to watch the
Twilight again.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
All right, fine, but we do find out Robin proposed
as using Will's telepathic link to vecnaw. We find out
to the hive minded track Holly eventually does work. They
find out that Vecna Henry mister what's it is targeting
kids to take into the upside down.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
They find out.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Was it was Derek delightful Derek, or it was it
was say Kevin dipshit Derek. It's fine, this is his
character's name, and this is the most annoying kid. I
think if you grew up in high school, in the
middle in an elementary school, y'all had that one kid.
He was like, dude, just shut up, like we get it,
(54:17):
you're title with.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
The kid had all the.
Speaker 3 (54:19):
Systems, let you know about it. He had all the
games where everybody else had the games. His mom always
want to McDonald's the lunch for everybody else.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
He was that kid. Definitely that kid.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
But we find out he and a bunch of kids
are the next targets for Vecdown, which ends that episode. Uh.
I kind of going through all episodes and we'll go
through all the bigger spoilers too. We do find out
Lucas has been showing up the Max playing running up
that hill pretty much on the daily. There was a
moment where we think, oh, heartbeat is increased by two. Yeah,
we find out later and the Splinter episodes increased more.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
We find out uh, dip shit Derek the next victim
in episode three, the turnbo Trap where hop for an
eleven try to interrogate a soldier, which is kind of
cool of a physical interrogation, then the mental interrogation through
eleven in the Upside Down, finding out that they think
Vecta is being held at the military base, Will, Nancy
(55:13):
and Mike and formed the group that you know Vecna
is trying to go after the kids. They then they
then drug the kids parents and I think what I
told you told They get Lucas's sister Erica to drug
them all, which I thought that was great. You should
hate the pie, which is cast.
Speaker 3 (55:35):
Is consistently one of the best characters a thing. She
probably has the least screen time.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
She's so great. That's true, that is true.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
And then the group then takes them to a farm
where they're going to try to they try to ambush
the Demi Gorgan goes right to a degree where they
able to track it, but they find out Derek, uh
and Will are hidden in the barn. Demi Gorgon goes
after them. We find out Will can actually connect to
the Demi Gorgon through the high This is where Steve, Dustin, Jonathan,
(56:04):
and Nancy then proceed to go through into the upside
Down and we find out that Holly, who has been
in the upside Down the entire time through this different
version of mister Watson and Henry's house, gets dressed up
like her little little D and D figure, which is
(56:24):
kind of cute. Uh finds out she goes in the forest,
she meets Max and that ends a third episode.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
Everybody thought was gonna be Eddie, but it was Max,
and I wanted to be Eddie. I have to see
Max's Okay.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
I want to be Barb. Okay, good Bob and Barb
and Bob some more love Barb and Bob Man.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
I want him back as Force ghosts. In the episode
upside Down, we've been waiting to teach something. Episode four
is called Sorcerer. Uh.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
This is where we see Hopper eleven infiltrate the military base.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
They run into doctor k. We find out, you know, everything,
all the organisms, the upside Down, her week to Flame,
which we've kind of known throughout the show. We find out, no,
it's not Vecna that they've been holding a prisoner, but
it's actually six from season two.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Yep, she came back.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
They're like, oh, look at that. And she's the reason
why the military has been able to weaken eleven with
like a sound machine, because they're using like her powers
to power their weapons to a degree. Which wraps up
that that sideline of the story. We find out Max
has been trapped inside with Holly. They're actually in Vecna's mind, Holly, Actually,
(57:32):
we find out is trapped in like a little cave
being tubed up with a tentacle like Will was many
years ago, and that Max pretty much has been shut
out and can't get back to her body because Uh,
Vecna's chapter there, which is which is kind of cool.
Holly calls it camizots, which relates to wrinkling time. While
(57:55):
this is going on, the military detaining children Hawkins who
could be potential victims. Will and the crew enlist ship
Derek to be delightful Derek to infiltrate the military base
so they can rescue all the kids. As soon as
they're going right, it's it's like any Anny Potts is
(58:15):
a snitch and then their playing it looks like it
be interrupted that all hell breaks loose because Demi Gorgan's
they've been unleashed on the blend.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
I think it was three of them. It was one
corn towards there was multiple of them. I feel like, yeah,
oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
You're right, you're right, but I'm like, uh again, they
felt like velociraptors. Like there were two things in this
movie that I felt like in the movie in the
show that you know, the same things. Usually is a
the modge to like that nostalgia vie, but I felt
like the tunund about they channeled in this one, we're
about five years too early.
Speaker 2 (58:49):
It was it was a Jurassic Park and home alone. Huh.
I get what they're doing, but that was five years
from when this movie when it's most.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
But yeah, and then pretty much we find out as
all hell is breaking loose, we find out Vecna and
that Demi Gorgans do have the upper hand. They do
take pretty much all the kids marked to be into
the upside down into the upside down. Vecna uppears in
the physical world, uh and pretty much pulls Will up.
I thought he was gonna absorb Will or something based
(59:18):
on the trailers. He did not. I don't know if
that was just hearsay or the trailers let us wrong.
He just pretty much intimidates Will leaves uh, summons more
Demi Gorgans to take out Lucas Will or sorry Lucas,
Mike and Robin. But before they do, Kevin, what happens.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
It kind of goes back to that Pep talk.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
It kind of felt like that that uh was that
selsago when sixteen told Gokana leto. He remembers his pep
talk from Robin, and suddenly as soon as the Demigra
buddy gelt get the final blow, final blow on Mike
Lucas and Robin can't do it. He stopped and we
flashed back and we see Will going all white out.
I'm like, ah, and guess she's controlling them. They can't
(01:00:03):
move and literally the other one time to strike somebody else,
and he can see him because it's a high mine.
He stops that one and after third one too, and
then after that he actually glifts them all up in
the air and kills them Beckna style.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Season four.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Yeah, it was amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
It was I was on my feet clapping, My wife
was yelling, the baby was crying. It was a scene
in my house on Saturday night. And that is where
the fourth episode ends. Uh Will kind of getting the
ray moment for Force awakens. I got my light, say eber,
now you know I am one with the Force.
Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
It was like that.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
It was also kind of like the Phoenix Force and
Next Man Extra United. When Jean went crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
He's like, oh, Will Will strong, Will real strong.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
But then that's how the episode ends, kind of looking
through see if we missed anything really uh. Ted and
Karen are in the hospital. H they lived, so they
didn't die. A lot of the military people die. A
lot of the military people die.
Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
That was the other thing about this Hopper eleven murderer.
They killed like so many military guys.
Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
Just like Hopper did. And then the scientist guy, he
was just in the closet. He got killed by the
other military guys.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
But eleven was plumbing that tower and the guy start, sorry,
breaking neck, throw you off the god.
Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
He had a family, what are you doing? But yeah,
I mean that's I can't even kind of hit all
the main beats. There was one thing it wasn't six,
and they found it was actually number eight. Collie was
number eight.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
And the only reason I know this is because there
was a funny video, a video that you do have.
People always put off their theories out there. They said
that in because I think I think Dustin said it.
They need a roll of twenty to feed back in
season four, so they said, okay, so if we need
a roll of twenty eight plus eleven plus one, will
(01:01:57):
it's twenty. So that's how they gog gona figureut how
to feed back. It's gonna be the accombination of those three.
That's interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
I like that. I do like that, and it also
kind of reverts back to this being just a big
old dungeon and dragons.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Well, and that's that's where I'm going to wrap up
with this. So we have three more episodes on Christmas
Day called Shock Jock, Escape from Camazots in the Bridge.
Sean Levy and the Duffer Brothers will be in those episodes,
directing cool. The Duffer Brothers did most episodes of this
first batch two, which is great. And then the finale
(01:02:30):
will be December thirty. First, he said, called the Right
Side Up as of right now could be different. But Kevin,
now we're halfway through quick thirty seconds, how do you
think the show willaned.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
I think the show will end with a significant death.
I'm thinking that actually maybe Will's mom at the end
of the day, Joyce, maybe in some kind of sacrificial way,
because she's still the whole thing through this whole series
that she didn't want to want to keep Wilson. Will
we say you stay back here, Will handle everything, and
now that she gets to let go, it's kind of
(01:03:05):
We'll be fine if I'm not here so I'll say,
let's do something like that. If not her, possibly eleven two,
I feel like it also sacrifice herself, but it definitely
will be it won't be kind of like a I
always go back to this episode of this UH when
when A Brian Crest and Dan Gaza was like, dude,
he was in the whole trip, why do you kill it?
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Make no sense?
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
It'll be a meaningful death, like it'll mean something when
somebody dies.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
I think.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
Obviously, keep in mind, we do have the like in
between animated series that's coming out oh yeah, next year
than two years, I think, which is more of an
in between thing more than anything. I still gonna stick
with the D and D. It's all been a D
and D game theory, especially now that you told me
the eleven plus eight thing. Uh doubles down on that
a lot. If not, I think they do flash forward
(01:03:56):
if the kids look the same, but down other appropriate
ages of what they are in their twenties. And it's
like eleven hasn't tapped into her powers in forever. She's
with Mike and whatever, and like everything's been great, and
then all of a sudden the nose bleeds in that do.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
That'd be kind of cool, like welcome to do anything
like that, Kyle, Like they have to fight this thing
every so odd million years. And shoot, if if, like
you said, eleven of Mike had kids, who knows that
they inherit if it's like passed over by genetics, so
they gonna have a whole failure of telekinetics ready to
go at a moment's notice, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
I do think those are more of the hap. I
don't know those happy endings, but I think Danning's gotta
be right on the show because they have a lot
of people happy, and they're gonna be a lot of
pissed off people if the ending is weird.
Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
That's the thing about it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
No matter what ending is, it's gonna be a sex
people that don't like it. So I feel like they
just have to be consistent, Like I think an ending
with an epilogue aside, Like if the episode last episode is,
I's say it's an hour, and let's say it's hour.
Let's say it's hour, says it says two Hourslet's say
last episodes two hours.
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
It is the last. If the last, it probably is.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
If the epilogue is like fifteen minutes I think everybody

and go to credits. People will be pissed either way.
Speaker 1 (01:05:14):

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
