throughout the week on iHeartRadio cat services around the world.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Because my name Tody.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
And I'm Kevin, and you're officially listening to this Wicked
for a Good episode what Kevin Crisis on Infinite pod Co.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
So it's like, uh, anything Wicked.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Watch, watch, watch, watch what you're doing because you're doing
shaker there.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
For a second, I.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Was like, oh, oh yeah, this is this is this
is like Wicked times to Wicked and then for Good
Tang because this is for for life with n W
I don't know. I'm trying to figure out something.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Wu Tang ain't nothing to mess with you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
They are not they are they are not.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
We got a jam packed show for you today.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Obviously we are talking about Wicked for Good and we'll
have two special guests for that review. Yes, very special.
To make room, Kevin, I I'm feeling you do not
prepared for having another person in that room with you.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
At the same time.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I can't see in the shop, but the chair is
cleaned and cleaned off. We're good, We're good.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Okay, there'll be a lot of hovering Kevin and I
will move to the background while the other two guests
talk to each other. We'll see if they can co exist.
Can they co exist?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Actually, I'm looking forward. Actually IM gonna pull up on
my phone and kind of kind of watch in time
and see what happens.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well, well, we got to stay in the room because
they might hit a button and then that we're true.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
What I'm saying. There's a there's a mobile dashboard for
Twitch for when we're relying on Twitch, we actually can control.
So I'm kind of listening, listening and listening listening. Kind
of weekly funhood.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Is but probably got a feeling.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
We're also gonna talk about two big trailers that came
out this week, pretty much because Utopia comes out next
week and then you know, Wickeds this week, so it
makes sense for another one to come out.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
This trailer to come out with that movie.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I kind of wish. I don't know if you're going
to a screening of Utopia, but if if I could
make it, we should be Zebras because I love the
Zebra sing and see them punk. That's gonna I think
it's gonna take over to movie Zebras.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I got a lot of feelings about this war games
like there are too many rifles in here that are
working with each other.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
This makes sense.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah, that's the issue with the world we're living now.
We have too much access where like you know, we
literally thought for the longest time, like back in the day,
like you know, these certain actors or people wrestling didn't
like each other. But no, it's all just a show
man's it's just a show.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
It's a show.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
But like this one right here, which you can follow
along all the things we're gonna talk about so much
more at Infinite Underscore POD's on the Instagram.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Or the act gonna give it to you or Kevin.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Where can they go to watch us in real time,
see our special guests in real time, or comment their
own wicked thoughts.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
The wicked thoughts I love that you can go to
YouTube dot com, stash if the Underscore posts, watch us
on demand, and tweet us all your your wicked thoughts.
Maybe need you do Crisis after Dark? Well we are.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
We always have starcked designs. Yeah, you're wicked, especially now
it's the winter, Kevin, winter.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Winter is coming, and it's coming.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Actually, that's another rant I had. That's another ant I have,
is that all those damn a uh claymated. Uh Chris's
movies came to Hulu right after I bought them, god.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Waste of seventeen dollars. But you can go to YouTube
dot com sutch if you do underscore pods to watch
it on there on the mandag your on leisure, or
you can watch this live twice a week like our
buddy back in the chat even in a while. That
makes art is in the chat today on twitch dot
tv slash if the Underscore pods and joined a chat
there and join the fun. And while you're there, don't
forget to throw us a free Amazon Prime subscription. If
you describe Amazon Prime, you can just have our podcast
(03:32):
for free. Help us out. It's a little bit, I lit.
Not not a big deal. We're not we're not struggling.
Well we're not rich, but we're not struggling. This is
this is our main hustle. But helps out a little bit,
help us get up.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
We try, we try, you know, help us get.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
A number five McDonald's, you know, and we're just gonna
make sure this is all going to that and oops
huge oops, I damnity. You know. Actually, if you can
you can sing here, maybe one more time, and I
did it again, like you can reverse it. It's the
same song. It still works. It's like the same tempo,
(04:04):
the same pitch, everything.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's it's kind of funny, but we always set the
podcast properly of something we like to call what You're doing,
or we talk about the shows and movies we've been watching,
lies we've been living in the games.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
We've been playing as well.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Tricked you there, Tricky there as well, and Kevin, I
have a technical difficulty right now, but so I'm gonna
let you go first while I try to work on it.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Okay, got you. So since we've last joined each other,
it's been a pretty I'll be a little open here.
This is not one of my favorite weeks of the year,
just because it is the anniversary of both of the
passings of my parents. So it's been a little rough,
but not as rough as usual because it's having a
lot of distractions and also just big old family kind
(04:48):
of take your mind off of things. So it's been
a bit of a left days a week for your boy,
but I've gotten through a lot of things. Of course,
we're decorating the house for Christmas, so that's always fun.
What's really pumped talking about this little later that I
got to send my sister, my wife, and my daughter
to see Wicked this week. That was really cool. And
also they were gone, I got to spend a lot
(05:10):
of time with my youngest started here, who was just
just just a light. She's I think it's going to
be a fun I thought sometimes she can be a
bit much as some tollers are. But we had a
really nice Tuesday night and then literally like around, She's
like bet Daddy, like dang, you mess around? So I
took up.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Awesome.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Now I have TikTok time by some money after TikTok time,
which is really cool. I've been going still in the
Dispatch Uh run of TikTok, a lot of a lot
of people playing playing Dispatch what and they got also
got the announcement that they did announced season two, I believe,
which is.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Kind of yet that is that is a potential rumor
has got gotcha?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
I feel like they have to. I mean I did
read art going to say they sold their yearly quota
in three weeks, which I think, obviously you did something
right with this game, so to continue it, I feel
like at this point it's gonna be kind of like
The Boys and Game of Thrones.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
And they got merched down too.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, that too. It'll be a Dispatch spinoffs. Now about
dis Patch prequels, We're going to play as Robert's father
at some point, like it's going to be a whole thing.
So I have I'm still going to play through with that,
uh second through with that I have not finished yet.
And then other than that, catching up still on Christmas movies.
Just like to watch Polar Express. I understand it's creepy,
(06:36):
but still at the end of that movie where you're
trying to shake that bell to here, it gets me
every time.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Well, Kevin, you might need to go to the Galor
National Resort because their snowy ice event is a Polar
Express thing.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
So yeah, it's that. And also every year in Baltimore
to being availbel does a does A does a train
a train to the North Pole.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Never mind, don't go to the Galor Resort.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
It's really cool though, because like they have a working
train station inside of being on a raild museum. So
you get in the train and it leaves and you
get to this one part Santa comes down and Hans out,
you know, Candy all the kids and you get off
the train, you're still in the same spot basically, only
really move twenty feet and moved back. But now this
place is different because they swung it around and now
you're in the north of Pole. It's really cool. So
(07:20):
I probably do that. And I did see something Christmas
related down in your neck of the woods. Montgomery County
is doing a thing like a walk through lights place
at Montgomery County Montgomery County Fair Fairgrounds. Looks kind of cool,
but it's a bit pricey.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
I got no idea. That is Maryland and that's across
the American Legion Bridge.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Kevin, Oh, really, that's where that is. I thought it
was closer to.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
The Moco Is where you're used to work, and I
do not live.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
There, so gotcha.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
So think about playing some Christmas activities too, because it's
getting at that time of year. Even though I get
it Thanksgivings Thursday, but for me, there is no planksgiving.
Its only Christmas, only Thanksgivings pre Christmas. That'scially what it is.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
That's what it is, but that's not a yeah, So
for me, make sure that works perfect. Obviously, weren talk
about waiting a little bit and that was good and
we'll have our theater reaction to which I don't think
more or.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Sorry special guest is prepared for woops.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
But besides that, I did complete my second play through
Dispatch where in Visia was evil essentially, so that was
I don't think I'm gonna platinum it. I just think
that there's like two achievements on there, like, yeah, you
go play a third time and I'm like, I'm okay,
I've played too much of this game right now.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Still enjoy it, but you know, we're taking a break
on that.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Uh we more and I pretty much binge watched the
the latest season of Only Murders within a weekend. It
was pretty good. I thought it was better than some
of the other seasons that kind of dragged on.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
A character, right, It wasn't somebody else to the show.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Not really.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
I mean, Meryl Streep has been there for a while
for like okay two seasons now, But yeah, I thought
it was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Obviously, the next season.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
They're going to London, which will be interesting to see.
It's always interesting to see they solve that murder. Who
are they murdering next? You know it's someone who is
who is in the supporting cast, but it is not
like a full time player two degrees.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
They're like, all right, I want to use that's in
this final episode. It's probably gonna get murdered.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
I just I'm just don't care. I didn't watch the show, Like,
do they live in like a dangerous city? Why all
these murders happening?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Dangerous building? It just don't live in that building. Arconi
is dangerous. And then shout out it welcome to Darry
you've boys been watching that. They were, I guess halfway
through the season now, and it's they said, the back
half all penny Wise. So we are going to get
into that starting this Sunday and be traumatized of clowns
again because I think they're gonna go all out because
(09:49):
it's not the losers who kill Pennywise at the end,
it's the people who deal and die at the hands
of Pennywise.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
I do still kind of wonder, not question, but I
wonder why they didn't trying to premiere this series a
little earlier, because I feel like now that spooky season
is kind of wearing off. I feel like if we
had reached the midway, the mid season point at Halloween,
maybe been a little a little more.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Obviously we had Peacemaker. It would have been interesting if
they if they swapped them. If this was the August
into you know, it was the end of September show
because you only had two episodes out by Halloween, so
technically you had a Halloween episode, but with that rate, yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's it's an interesting theory because it's like we said,
I think last week or something, it'll end like December
fifteenth or eighteen, whatever that Sunday is of that week.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
So you're like, okay, cool, Yeah, this is.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Kind of weird. I'm sure to still we'll still define
because that movie kind of revitalized that character in that
whole that whole lore, which is interestingly, you could have
started in September and ended I just have been a
little more cohesive.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
I want to shout out to the Tim Curry. I don't
remember them doing that in the movie The New Movies.
I'm like, you do it in this one.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
I just remember because when I worked at Best Buy,
everybody that worked in the media department had like a thing.
So somebody don't think people was horror. People think of musicals,
so they got the horror guy was like, it is
one of the best horror movies ever. I don't know
where he is today, but I'm sure he loves this
so much.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
I don't know where he is now, but he's enjoying
it somewhere. He's enjoying it somewhere.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
But that's what you're watching, That's what I've been doing.
You can also let us know what you've been doing
twitch dot tv or YouTube dot com, slash and from
this corpods. We love to get your shout outs where
it's a DM or a chat, just to you know,
see what you guys are watching, playing, or living. Because
we all are collectively living a nerdy life collectively together.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
It's the only way to live. You know. We're coming
up on not much nerdy shows coming up. I don't think, Uh,
wonder Man's not till next year.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Percy Jackson, that's our next big one.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
That's our next the next one, the next one, and
then Avatar, Fire and Ice pre preempted by a vendor trailer,
which is kind of the camptame where we are right now.
It's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Fun, but Kevin, this is a tease for homework for
Monday's episode uh in the pro pro tip. Actually for
you listening right now to the people, where's that my
sound effects?
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Bang?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Bang? Save us?
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Wake up? There we go? Okay, probably good idea. We
just woke up the button board. It's okay.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Is that Monday will be our last episode before Thanksgiving break,
but we're gonna do something fun. The ten games that
define us, so my ten that's great, Kevin's ten games
we're probably doing around there or what you're watching, what
you're playing, what what you're doing, and that's probably it
because outside of Wicked ain't gonna be a much news.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
So good question about that. Are we doing, uh, single
games or games that's a series.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Mass effect? You'll have to pick one. I will say,
you have to pick one. Okay, Actually, yeah, we'll do
single games. I think for the most part when I
was thinking it up, I picked singular titles out of franchises.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
So that's good. That's good. I know what I'm gonna say,
but I'm just like, I really love massive.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yes, the fun part is me guessing what yours are
and then being completely wrong.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
So that's gonna be the fun part too. On Monday's episode.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
That'll be fun because I know, I realized the other
day I've been playing video games almost thirty years and
it's just like, man, I'm old. Well, like it's weird
to think, like before this was a thing that only
nerds did kind of or like you know, shelter kids.
But now it's like it's a thing, it's a thing.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Thing. Well, we'll talk about that on Monday when we
get a little emotional about the games we play. But
speaking of things we're doing as thirty year olds and
plus that's what's ma Wana trailer reaction theater and break
down the trailer for yes, the live action Majana movie.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
There we go, There we go.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Yeah, I know, why did he did this to us?
Just just just despite me so much money? And why?
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Uh So we're gonna be a little bit quicker on
these breakdowns because we want to accommodate for our guests.
But Aaron Gyles, yes, you've been gone so long. I
have a mustache now. Uh it's in it's still its
pre prebescent form, but we're trying to get into the
adult form to see what happened.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
So yours is thicker than mine and mine's a thin boy.
I don't get mind cut too much above the lip.
So you're your's, you's coming in good.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
We'll see, well, we'll see more hates it, but we'll
see what happens.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
But can you do the cyburns too? Could do theyburns?
Speaker 4 (14:39):
It gets it gets too.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
It's like, oh, okay, we're looking like the lucky Irish
leprechaun from the end of the movie. It's okay, all right,
but this trailer, uh, the rock is kind of in.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Seven Bucks kind of took ownership of this movie.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I think it was like maybe six months ago that
they now that it was happening, or we all found
out it was happening, I think. But it is coming
out next year, and you ready to watch it?
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Kevin? Yes, I've watched it already several times because I mean,
come on, it's Mallana and I have two girls.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah what happens? Yes? All right?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
So the kind of three let's play then we'll talk
about it, all right?
Speaker 4 (15:22):
One, two, three.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
I am a girl who loves my eye.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Okay, that looks like Malana.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Who loves the See.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Andrew the Sea Show.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
We don't say this. I can drum.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Shaped my trailer FROs So all right, well, my trailer
froze for half of that, So I'm sorry. Oh I
(16:26):
love it, Thank you so much, Kevin. Uh, but yeah,
that was The Milana trailer looks like the original and
very c g I heavy, just as much as the
animated excert movie is.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Yeah, it looks very beef for Beat. I'm sure there'll
be some things that will be different. I wanted to
if they will do more with the Kakamora and their origins.
They kind of explained that in the second movie. Look
the kind of where they came from, so I want
to do a little bit of that in this one.
But it looks like another great representation for the Pacific Islanders.
(17:04):
The young lady that's playing Majana is not a VI.
I can't pronounce her nasting.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Like Ali Cravillo Cravo, but she.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Sounds a little bit like her in the song, and
I kind of wanted to, like you said the whole
thing about uh, it's gonna be a CD fest if
the Rock's gonna be just muscular the rock by himself,
or are they gonna like put at another suit on him
even look.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Apparently he's supposed to have another suit, but he's supposed
to be in like padded arms, but I mean we'll see.
I hope Ali Carvillo gets at least a cameo in
some form for this, whether it's Mohana's obviously not the grandma,
but Molana's mom would be cool.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Or something like that. I know Ali Caravillo.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Is like twenty six or something, so a little a
little harder to make that happen, but you know, who.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Knows, Yeah, who knows.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
I'm pretty sure all the other heavy hitters from from
the realm of Hollywood have been there. I wouldn't be
surprised to see Uh, she can't never remember his name,
but Boba fet the.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Man tomorrow Morrison, Yeah, maybe he'll be the dad again.
And he'll be the dad again.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
There's so many people and in that part of Hollywood
that are always like I can't for the roles. It'd
be kind of cool to see them represented well in this.
And I think, though this movie hitches on, how good
that we know the way song is performed favorite Disney songs.
I even put it above if we don't talk about
Bruno like it's like, I think my top five before
(18:29):
this was like probably a friend like me, circle of life,
trying to think of a couple of others I love,
even though I like the movie, I love Bell Bunk Join,
Good Day, How is Your Family? I love that one
is another great one also Hercules Shoot Hercules came out
of the herds right now. But once I saw the
(18:51):
scene of We Know the Way, I was like, this
is peak Disney music. This is amazing. So I can't
see that scene live. That's gonna be great.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Yes, well that'll be next year.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
But also it won't be outdone because that'll be our
summer movie, one of the summer movies coming out next summer.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
But we now have for sure.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
A November flag in that claim because the Hunger Games
Sunrise on the Repeat also has a trailer, so we're
gonna break that one down as well.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Yeah, hell yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Remember we talked about this long time ago. Then continue
this after the last movie did and we were like, wow,
there actually are going on, like a whole new Hunger Game.
Think I think you wrote a new books for this too, didn't.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Yes, So kind of the model is for Susanne Collins,
who's the Hunger Games director or the author. Sorry is
she'll write a book and then it gets turned into
a movie about a year and a half later two
years ago, it was Ballad of Songbirds and Snake, which
was kind of like an origin movie for President Snow,
which wasn't that bad. It was an entertaining watch. I
think that's the they found out what the what the
(20:00):
cookie is with these movies is we want to see
the Hunger Games. We don't care about the outside stuff. Sure,
that's great, we want to see the Hunger Games.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
I mean Hunger Games. When that came out, even though
they killed the kid in the first one, they was like,
well they killed the kid. It definitely hit really really hard,
really well for a lot of people. I'll never forget
being in the in the theater for the part one
of three and and it's like that's it, Like I
want to think of what happens, God, dang it. But yeah,
(20:29):
I'm happy to connectain this serious because I mean, I
don't feel that it's remembered enough. I'm happy to kind
of staying in the room of conversation.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Yeah, well you ready to watch it?
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Let's watch it right here we go the count of three, one, two.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
Three, oh justice, oh, oh okay, okay, is she okay?
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Welcome then in to the glow.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Week up colorativill.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Smile only mother can pull.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Or It's Midsummer.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Midsummer Dream twice contributes.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
Twice, The Glory's famous, so ominous, It's time.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
No, instead of getting big, it's getting tiny.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
Dad.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Did you say District.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Mechanic Races, it's a countdown show you the participants that
zoo coup.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
I think that's I think you're right, that's age.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Well I'm going back to the hung people. Hell yeah,
Oh that's my guy. It's my guy.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Hell yeah, it's a fighting duking it out in the mountains. Nope,
not the mountains are gonna be different. It's a volcano
the Hunger Games, all right, m oh yeah, I'm down
(22:57):
for it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
They literally, Like I feel like they revealed the cast
of this movie like two months ago, so I don't
know they film it or whatever, but yeah, it looks good.
I think that's the thing with these movies is they
probably have the sets, Like they probably know what this
factory is for District twelve over and over again.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
That's a cool thing because like the this is this
is this is kind of like the distant future. They
can make these sets look very whatever and kind of
like you said, just rebuild them and redo them. And
you know the district seven is in this industrial district
nine is you know, So that's the cool thing about it.
And I feel like this this trailer captures the like
the the darkness I want to say of the first one,
(23:40):
because I mean, after the first one, I feel like
the second three were they were still very entertaining and
very very thrilling, but that inherent darkness wasn't there about
like you know, kids being elected from different districts going
out to kill each other. This one, I feel like
it's there again. It feels like it's that that intense again.
Which is the crazy thing. Dude, Why why is the kid?
(24:02):
Why can't this be like old people?
Speaker 1 (24:04):
I think the interesting thing is too, is this is
supposed to be the fiftieth Hunger Games the second quarter call.
Remember Catching Fire, which was the second one of the
Hunger Games trip or quadrilogy. That was the seventy fifth
Hunger Games. So this is kind of cool. It makes
sense to do this one because it's a bigger deal. Uh,
Songbirds and Snakes was the tenth Hunger Games, so there's
still room to do a twenty fifth one and the
(24:26):
first one because I think the first one would be
cool too, you know.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, I think that's something that that they may even
build to. What was the first hung Games? What was
it like? And like the the drama behind like again,
because this happened to keep world peace apparently right to
do this, it's kind of like it's almost kind of
like purge in a way.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
What you think about it actually, but yeah, I mean
it looks good. I think a lot of it.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
This the least, Songbirds and Snakes and Hunger Games itself
does lead to younger talent going from just being you know,
teens and movies to now being head stars and things.
Jennifer Lawrence, Joss Hutcherson. The cast of Songbirds and Stakes
kind of took off after that movie as well, so
(25:15):
hopefully this does a lot for the cast as well.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Looks like a good time even.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
I alway talk about it, even though I can't remember
the name of the actress right now, but the girl
that died in the first one was actually in the
Star Wars show we watched last year. Devil.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, dang it, it's been so long, Amanda Steinberg, that's
what it Wasinberg, Yeah, yeah, Stinburg time.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
So yeah, It's definitely a dumping point out for a
lot of actress.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
It wasn't.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Shoot I know that was somebody that was in the
fort the second when it went went off to be
be a star. I can't remember remember the name of
the person though.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Uh Free, my guess is blocking my computer get all
the way. Guess Jesus, you're not ready, You're not ready
for you yet. I guess it's blocking computer. Had Liam Hensworth, Josh,
that's what I'm thinking of. Oh you had Jack Quaid.
He was in the first one too. It kind of
took who's the Songbirds and Sneaks cast? Uh Rachel Zegler
(26:14):
obviously was from the last one. Uh and Tom blythe
Who's been in a couple of things too. So a
lot of people taking off, which is good.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
It's definitely a good a good omen from for for
for this, we'll be like, Okay, come be come be
in Hunger Game movie can be a star.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Basically, don't you want to be a star? Do a
Hunger game? Hungy Games?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Uh, well, that comes out, that comes out next November.
But Kevin, let's switch on back to the normal view.
We're done talk about trailers. We're here to talk about
one movie that's technically the second one in a movie.
It's time to talk about Wicked for good And uh,
we can't do that without some special guests. So should
(26:54):
I summon the first special guests while you go summon
your special guests?
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Yeah? I can hear them upstairs now. She just walked
in the door, so I'm texting her right now as
we speak.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Actually, okay, cool, because we're talking Wicked for goods, that
means we need one Mari s Kelly to make her
reappearance on the podcast. Bar's gonna yeah, we're gonna clap.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
We're gonna clap because we're gonna break down what movie Mara.
Speaker 6 (27:18):
More good?
Speaker 4 (27:25):
All right? Scoochin, all right, you're gonna all right? Oh sorry, Yes,
you need that.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
He's setting up to Okay, all right, you need that,
all right, Kevin's figure out. Kevin, just give the headphones
to your wife. Probably is what you need, is probably
what you need to do. Well, you set things up,
all right? Hello, Alicia, how are you hello?
Speaker 4 (27:47):
All right?
Speaker 1 (27:47):
You want to get real close to this mic, so
probably like a foot away from that mic, just so
you know, there we go see lovely all right, So
happy couples and get into each Kevin, you gotta get
real close to your wife, I've learned, Yes, make her
the center of attention.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
So we've all seen Wicked for Good except Kevin's. I
don't even know why Kevin is here. But ladies, you
have the floor. Alicia, you can go first.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
What did you think? Nonspoilery? Oh you want More to
go first instead?
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yes? Okay, okay, Mare will go first, non spoiler of
Wicked for Good, then Alicia.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Then we'll go full spoilers. Okay, okay, okay, more. Are
you have the floor?
Speaker 7 (28:26):
It helps to write some notes down. I've been on
a few times, so it's just a few thoughts. So overall,
I think it was good. I think the first part
was better. It's worth seeing. I just think you it's sorry,
I said, I wrote down my thoughts and then I
(28:48):
doesn't paying attention.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
I love musicals.
Speaker 7 (28:52):
I think that the first movie was just a little
bit happier and more exciting, which was to be expected.
I knew the second part it was going to be darker.
It had some darker themes in it.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Music.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
I don't know if I'm going to listen to it
as much as the first soundtrack. I listened to that
a lot. But we'll see when it gets on Spotify
tomorrow tomorrow, right, yeah, so yeah, I think it's overall.
For non spoiler, what.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
Did you think non spoiler of the movie.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
So for my thoughts, I thought it was really really good.
I'm coming in blind, like I never saw the musical,
so I'd have nothing to compare it to, so I
thought it was It fit in with the first movie
perfectly in my opinion. It was definitely darker. So we
also had our nine year old daughter go and she
(29:47):
covered her eyes a few times.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
She was like, it's scary, so damn, I can see
I can see that.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Yeah, there's one part where she just went completely under
her jacket. So but she says she was not a
big fan, but I think it's because of the quote
unquote scary parts. I personally loved it. I like the song,
I love the music. I am a music person and
(30:13):
I love musicals. So this was just Cynthia Rivo just
you know, she's saying the ABC's and it would be amazing,
and it was like that for me. I love how
they hide in the first half with the music as well,
(30:33):
So The soundtrack does come out tomorrow, and I can't
wait to listen to No Good Dye Me too.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Do you want to share?
Speaker 2 (30:41):
You're not well?
Speaker 4 (30:42):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Like fine, my nine spoil Kevin. You don't get an opinion, Kevin.
You got to sit there and listen to all this. Okay, Sure,
we'll do that.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
I really liked it.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
We'll get scores, so ladies, think of a score eight
or do like a number out of ten alphaba hats
or scored. We pick a thing from the movie. That's
why we do the scores on this podcast. I would
give it an eight out of ten alpha ba hats.
I thought really good. I like Moore said, I like
the first one better. I think it just whimsy character building.
It's the fun part, you know. And that's okay. We
(31:16):
more and I've started watching a lot more musicals and
going to musicals, and I think that helps. Obviously, you
appreciate the movie more because you're expecting it from musical standpoints.
I will say Jonathan Bailey is a is a handsome man.
And there were some scenes and I said, to make
that sure go lower, please, good sir, because chest hair
(31:37):
was abound except for the end. I was like, okay,
I don't know about at the end form of him.
I don't know, don't, I don't, I don't know about
the end. Well, okay, it's poor Okay, sorry. I thought
Jeff Goblin was used a lot more, which was just good.
I think they used them to their advantage compared to
the first one. But I think that's the point. And
let's see, let's see bach what a turn?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
What a turn? Non spoiler, that's all we'll say.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
But yeah, eight out of ten alphaba hats Alisha, out
of ten whatevers you want to give?
Speaker 4 (32:06):
What do you give the movie?
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Same? I was thinking eight and a half out of
ten Alpha beheads.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 7 (32:13):
I also said eight and a half.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
All right, so an average of I don't know, do
that mad in your own head because I can't figure
that out.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
All right? So no, right, we got our non spoilers out.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
That's the best part of this podcast because you can
really try to figure out a way to not spoil
the movie. Now here come the spoilers. Three two one,
there's a spoiler. There's a spoiler. Kevin put the spoiler
warning up.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
He knows how to do that. Alisha, did you like
Dandy in this movie.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
I did, and why I liked it was because it
answered a childhood question of mine because when I was younger,
I always wonder, yeah, she's melting, but we don't really
see the melting after effect. We just saw the bucket,
the puddle of water, and I was like, what if
(33:01):
she just you know, did some alphabet magic and went
somewhere else And it definitely answered that question for me,
and I know, I was like, oh yeah, So at
the end, I said, this is absolutely what I would
have and what I've always wanted it to be, and
(33:21):
I love uh uh how she So I can't say,
so I'm going to just say it like I knew
as soon as No Good Deeds started singing and she
so as soon as she started singing No Good Deed,
I knew exactly what was happening. And I was like,
she's going to save him. And then when I saw
(33:42):
them carry him, and I was like, oh, she's turning
him into the okay, so the scarecrow, Like she turned
him into the scarecrow. And it just made me so
excited to see how they used those love interests and
turned them like she turned the one to save him
(34:05):
and then got blamed for the other.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
All right, all right, Mora, your thoughts about the ending
or anything.
Speaker 7 (34:12):
Yeah, I mean I agree with everything that was just said.
I also enjoyed the ending. I was getting nervous though,
when they weren't showing Fearo as the scarecrow. I was like,
oh man, we're not going to see what he actually
looks like. So I was glad they finally showed that,
but I kept thinking, like, she's not like you said,
she's not dead, she's going to come back, or you
some she's so powerful, there's no way she's just water
(34:35):
killed her.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
I overall, yeah, I was very happy with her, right,
So what I always wonder like why water like water?
And then when they did the song at the beginning
that her soul was so dark that water could melt her,
and I said, well, it's that's a rumor. So I said,
that's just something that people made up. I said, that's
(35:00):
not necessarily truth. So when they you know, we're carrying
the buckets of water around, I said, it makes you
question the original movie. And I said I like this
way better.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Yeah, yes, I think I think because more and I
we watched Wizard of Oz and the James Franco one
over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
You're like, I like made in this version more than
those versions.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
All right, So, because I'm guiding you guys, what was
your favorite and least favorite song? Because it is a
musical movie, so and you don't have to know the title,
it can be the scene or whatever more. I'll let
you go first because you have written down already. What
was your favorite and least favorite song.
Speaker 7 (35:41):
My least favorite song was the Girl in the Bubble,
the one that was the new one that Ariana Grande sang.
I just I thought it was a little boring. I
don't know, especially compared to the other ones. Favorite song
is hard. I think I'm gonna pick No Good Deeds
or No Good Deed. I think that was my favorite.
(36:02):
But Wonderful is very catchy. It's not my favorite, but
it's been stuck in my head. So maybe as like
a runner up. But some of them are so good,
like for Good was very good as well.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
It's definitely hard, Alista, you got.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yours, Okay, So my least favorite was still the Girl
in the Bubble. I just wasn't drawn to it as
well as much as the other songs, and I love
Ariana Grande and musicals. Now like she has an amazing voice.
(36:38):
Her vocal training has been has done wonders. And I
mean even before her operatic vocal training for this movie,
like she had an amazing voice. But now I think
it's just taken it to another level. And I don't
think that song did anything, yeah, to show what she
could do, and no, good deed, I did not breathe
for however long that movie. That song song could have
(37:00):
been thirty minutes long and I would not have breathed
when it was over. I literally, out loud, was like
and the lady next to me was like, yeah, Like
I just did not breathe and it was It's just
Cynthia Reevo just she can do no wrong singing. This
(37:21):
song was perfect for her and no no, I listened
to Dna Mendez Menzou and I was like, yeah, this
is not it.
Speaker 7 (37:28):
Yeah, I agree. I definitely think Cynthia's was way better.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Well then for both of you, do you want to
go see the musical now that you've seen the movie
or do you think the movie is your path? You
want to see your interpretation? You want to see of that?
Speaker 7 (37:43):
I think I'm okay with the movie, I think I
would be a little disappointed by the musical just because this,
yeah production and also the singing on this was just
so good, and the story is fleshed out a little
bit it more so I just think that, yeah, I'm
(38:05):
going to see it at some point, but I think
I'm going to be a little disappointed.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
M Now, what was the part you cried at? The
real tear jerker moment for you?
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Because let's face it, at least it's been alluding to
it the whole time.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Already and more written down cry moment of the movies.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
At least you cried in the Planet of the Apes
when the old Man died.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
I mean, you know it wasn't coming, but you didn't
spoilers for a ten year old movie.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Oh man, when did I cry? Definitely?
Speaker 3 (38:41):
What is the song?
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Because I knew you m hm. Was definitely where the
tears started for me, and it pretty much went on
to the end.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
That's good. That's good because it just I.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
Just couldn't get myself together. And then you know, and
Fierro came back as the Scarecrow and then they went
off into the I don't know what did we I
was like the outside. I didn't know how I didn't.
I don't remember what they called it, but we just
kept calling it the outside of him.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
I just kept crying. And it wasn't like a hard
crack evan. It wasn't like when the Grandpa died.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
But I did.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
I did cry because that friendship and that bond. Knowing
that they couldn't have that friendship the way that it
used to be was you know, it was sad.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
It was sad more your tear jerker moments.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
So I was.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
I was feeling it in my eyes, but I didn't
really start crying at that part. What really got me,
and I don't remember his name, but when the Flying
Monkey talked, oh chissery, that that like whenever she died,
and he was like trying to talk. That made me
just ball. I think that was my specific moment.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
My tear jerker moment was is part of my theater review.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Dressed as the tin Man.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
The tin Man becomes the villain of the damn movie
and I'm like, oh, this is awkward.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
We do not need to be in the tin.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Yeah it was.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
It was.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
He's a tainted hearted man. I felt so bit for him.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Well, he played SpongeBob and he played the tin man.
Now he was good.
Speaker 7 (40:27):
He was really good as the tin man.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (40:30):
On the on the music in the musical.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
I Love the Hood. He had a head of the
drenarious Tugeria moment. Oh no, I did the wrong thing.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
I did a wrong thing. Oh no, all right. So
then a couple more questions and then you guys, you
gals are doing great? Is ending wise? Two questions more?
Speaker 1 (40:51):
You well, because you have a pressing question that you
immediately asked me while we're in the car. So let
you ask Alicia because we'll be going to see what
your thoughts. Both thoughts are on it.
Speaker 7 (41:01):
Uh So the ending? Do you think that Glinda has
the power? Do you think that she opened the Grammary
on her own? Or do you think it's because Alpha
Ba was singing in the outside and it opened because
of that?
Speaker 2 (41:19):
I feel like Glinda still does not have power. I
do feel like, okay, maybe it was some form of
power transfer because she was looking back to her or
to Oz and as she's looking back to her and
they're singing, it opens. So I feel like maybe she
(41:42):
wasn't She doesn't have full power, but maybe Alpha but
gave her some.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
Bit of buhot so she could read.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Neessa was reading the Grammary and didn't have any power,
so maybe they gave her. Maybe I think Alphaba gave
Glinda a little bit, like maybe she was able to
give her because she was flying by herself and doing
all kinds of stuff that she was able to do
in the first movie. So I think she was able
(42:13):
to transfer a little bit. That's my personal belief.
Speaker 7 (42:18):
Yeah, that makes sense. I will say, I don't think
she has powers. That's a good The transfer a little
bit makes sense, But I think it's that Alphaba opened
it for her and wanted her to look at it.
But I know it seems like online a lot of
people think that she now has powers.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
For you, guys, are are the influencers, so you can
dictate what the ending of the movie means. So start
writing on your facebooks and your Instagrams and let the
other people interpret what you say. So two more questions.
One's about this movie and one's about just you guys
as people in depth, question, do you want more of
(42:59):
this universe? Because apparently there are there are books that
are there are other books that are set in this
world of Wizard of Oz. Do you want those as
a show, Do you want those as a movie, or
do you want none of that.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
I would do a show because I'm curious about Son
of a Witch. And I'm only saying a show because
Alpha but is not a major player in that.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Book.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
So I would do it as maybe a mini.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
Series like Peacock needs shows.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
So I think two, maybe three episodes of Son of
a Witch would be good.
Speaker 7 (43:38):
I have questions, but I'm a little nervous that they
would ruin it, just like ruin the universe, ruin the story,
just because sometimes when something has a sequel that hasn't
been written, it's not as good. But I mean, I
would be open to it.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
But yeah, I think they just have to John Chu
has to be in the producer role or director roll
for it to be good. You have to get the
same production staff, and then Ariana and then Cynthia.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
I mean Son of a Witch.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
You could probably maybe get Cynthia to narrate it or
do something, maybe to have some in there. Yeah, I
think it's a fun world. I think it definitely got
people to back in the theater. It's definitely probably the
Avengers Endgame movie of this year, and there were superhero
movies that came out this year, you know, so that's wild.
But comparing this, because it is a musical movie, what
(44:32):
is your favorite musical movie?
Speaker 7 (44:34):
And is it this We'll say, wait, favorite musical movie
or favorite musical musical movie. Okay, because those are very different.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
That's well, this is a musical movie. It's not the
musical so it's interesting.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
So I'm talking.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
You got Grease, you got Lame Miz, you got Yeah,
some other movies.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
So what is your favorite musical movie? And is this topic?
Speaker 4 (44:54):
So more? Do you want me to go first?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
You can go?
Speaker 4 (44:56):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
See I know that I didn't prepare either of you
with any of these questions. So for me, I think
this these two as a whole, I think probably is
my favorite because the first one I had no expectations,
was immersed and loved it so much that let's dress
up and go have fun and see the second one.
(45:18):
So I think musical movie for me, yes, but I
think I'm newer to musical movies. Obviously there's Grease and
all this stuff my mom made me watch, but.
Speaker 4 (45:25):
Overall, I loved it. So who wants to go next?
Alicia or more?
Speaker 2 (45:30):
I can't.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
I can't.
Speaker 7 (45:32):
Sorry, I'm like squatting down.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
This is terrible.
Speaker 7 (45:36):
So I think it's hard because my favorite musical is
very different than movie musical. But in terms of movie musical,
I feel like I have to say, Mama Mia, it's
just like a fun a fun watch.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
I love Abba.
Speaker 7 (45:51):
Or Sound of Music, and it's very nostalgic for me.
I watched it a lot as a kid, but neither
of those are my favorite music.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Goal.
Speaker 7 (46:00):
My favorite musical is probably Cabaret, I think, but that's
like or Haities Town. We just saw that, or Hamilton.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (46:11):
There's a lot of other ones. I like a lot,
but they're not moving musicals.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
And that's where we're getting your guys taste, partially as
dis question the beginning, but that's okay, we're getting at
the end.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
Son, by the way, can't participate in this one.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Okay, mine would be I love The Greatest Showman. Showman
is one of my favorite musical movies. Between that and
I want to say that is that's the one I
can watch the most. If it's on, I can watch it.
(46:53):
But my okay, the Temptations, Okay, the Temptations is I
think we'll top No, nothing can tap the Temptations for me.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
All the time.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
If I ask, if I ask Leah you want to
watch the Temptations, she will be highly upset because I
watch it a lot. I mean I can say that
movie robatim won't come in the room. It is my favorite,
So that Temptations and the Greatest Showman, and as much
as I love Wicket, I think it can tap the Temptations.
Speaker 4 (47:26):
That's okay. Yeah, that's okay.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
Yeah, you guys are well versed, which is why you're
doing the review of this movie and not Kevin and I.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
It's okay.
Speaker 1 (47:35):
And then just to wrap it up, this is an
easy It's probably an easy question because it's two options
and pretty much whatever question. Are you more of a
Glinda or you're more of an Alphaba? And Kevin, you're
participating this question too.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
So.
Speaker 7 (47:50):
Well, do you want to go first?
Speaker 4 (47:51):
Fine, I'll go first first. I think no, I'm a Glinda.
I think I'm a Glinda. Couldn't be happier.
Speaker 7 (48:01):
You know, I think you are too. I mean she
changes in the second movie, so I think that's acceptable.
Speaker 4 (48:09):
Let Kevin go next.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Kevin, you have Glenda and Alphaba alphab because I'm anti
social ticket to break last and fly around.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
Okay, I'm definitely an Alphaba.
Speaker 5 (48:24):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Finger in the morning singing basically Kevin, you have a
Kevin has a microphone. Make sure Kevin knows talking to
the microphone. All right, Okay, you could be.
Speaker 7 (48:41):
You could always be like a mix between the two
a little bit.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
There you go, there you go, and Maura round out.
Speaker 7 (48:49):
I think I'm Alphaba.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
I mean, yeah, I think.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Look at both the relationships have a Glenda and Alphaba,
even though one of the relationships the person doesn't want
to be Glinda.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
So you have there, all right.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
Well, any other questions, anything else you want to talk about?
A list and make sure because that's.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
All I got.
Speaker 7 (49:13):
I mean, I think one thing that I definitely want
to emphasize is I think that this movie is very
relevant in the current situation in the world. Uh So,
I think it was really interesting in today's climate to
watch it. So I really enjoyed that and how it
leaned into some of those themes. It was definitely some
(49:35):
parts that were hard to watch, like just because they
were like really because I don't like seeing Like at
the beginning when like the animals were like struggling and.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
Cg animals, but I was like them losing themselves.
Speaker 7 (49:50):
Yes, whenever I like saw that at the beginning, or
whenever the scene that you walk in and it was
the room with the cages that the wizard was hiding,
I was like, oh, and then you saw the scene
that was like the flash forward of the goat uh
doctor Diloman that was his native Doloman.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Yeah, yes, at least any final thoughts.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
I love the scene in the cage with the cages
simply because how Alphaba gets her refine and yes, one
word run. I was like, kids run, So that is
a favorite scene as well. But I do think I
agree with you. It definitely touches on some uncomfortable situations
(50:37):
that we're going through today with hopefully a positive outlook,
because Glinda does come in and yeah, make things, do
things for the good. She does try to make things
better than they were for everything, for everyone in oz.
So I just think everyone should you Yeah, there you go, Well.
Speaker 7 (51:02):
What everyone say, They've been changed for good?
Speaker 4 (51:04):
Okay, get out of here.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
