Welcome back to the NRTY News. You needs no throughout the week on iHeart
radioim cast services around the world.Because my name's Hoodie and I'm Kevin,
and I think I have to sneeze. Oh it's coming, It's getting there,
Kevin. Is it like a yawnwhere if you say yawn it always
happens. Look, look at thelights. There's no window right here.
I'm done lights. There you go, and you're officially looking and listening to
(00:30):
this Thursday scroll the episode what keVCrisis odd infinite odd. It's like this
stare like tinkling in the nose hairscoming? Is it because you have longer
nose hairs now? Is why itstays in? Like no, get out
of here, get out of mybody. Yeah. I've had to do
(00:51):
the little nose hair trim every nowand then, more than I ever did
in my twenties. So huh, that's the thing. And you know what,
more, it keeps getting on meabout trimming my nose hairs. I
know this is an adult problem, but I'm not gonna do it good.
We have a mustache. It's kindof hard to tell which one's the mustache,
which one's nose Now, I'm theopposite. Mine is, Oh,
I know what is the mustache? And that ain't it? The nose hairtrem
(01:17):
is the obsensation. I don't reallylike it, that very obsensation. But
oh, actually just realized something's wrongon my computer. But we're gonna roll
with it. Baby. That's okaybecause you're officially listening to this episode of
Christis Left in a podcast. Today'sepisode, we're breaking down the Secret Invasion
as a whole, added it toour MCU in review view, and we're
(01:40):
also gonna have a good time talkingabout the Handed Mansion movie, a little
trailer that came out after San DiegoComic Con, even though it probably should
have came out during San Diego ComicCon. But it is what it is
and so much more. But youcan keep it, Yeah, what are
you gonna do? But you cankeep it locked to at infinite underscore podes
on the Instagram or the Twitter oron the thread. We all know it's
a baby and pretty much it goesInstagram. You know what what is your
(02:02):
order of looking at social media rightnow? Uh? Still Twitter, Instagram,
Facebook because Twitter for the news,ye, Instagram for entertainment, Facebook
for anything. I'm family and threadsis when Hoodie tells you to get on
threads. Yeah, on friends allweek, That's okay, I'm trying to
get We're trying to get on there. But let's face it, every time
you get on threads, you're like, I'm not motivated right now to do
(02:23):
anything on threads, but we'll see. The most entertaining thing all week has
been that Microsoft maybe suing uh,Twitter or x over the rights to X
for the X logo. Who wouldhave thought, I'm kind of I'm gonna
get some Twitter stock probably because ofXbox. Thank you, Xbox. I
think it's pretty funny because if youdidn't know, it's called Xbox because of
the direct X software makes Xbox gameswork you no more yet now boo boom
(02:47):
you we need that sound effect too, But you guys, just keep a
lock to Hot nine five dot comSlash Crisis Crew or watch us record the
podcast live or on demand if yourown accord. Where Kevin on Twitter TV
slash If I'm score Pots watching thisslide, or you can watch it on
your own Volusion Volusion at YouTube dotcom, Slash even on score Pot.
(03:08):
I don't know if that was aword, but I like it. You
know, Volition is a game company. It is true, but I don't
know if allusions will Yeah, probablynot. But we always start the podcast
properly with what you do, andwe talk about the things we've been watching,
things've been playing, lies, we'vebeen living. Because it is Thursday,
yep, bo It gets to gofirst, and I want to test
(03:30):
out the button bar because nothing's reallypopping up for me, and I'm gonna
hit it. I see this,Okay, all right, we got that
one. That's still one that mattersis that nothing knows matters this doom Doom
doom d Who would have thought thatyou making me that sound effect would bite
you in the butt so much twomonths later after we watch the Dune movie.
(03:50):
Definitely, I'm still managing watch that'sokay, but I'm happy to say
continue watching my adventure. Superman isstill a good show more and I Mora
and I have rewatch, are rewatching. I think for me it's the second
time New Girl, first time sincepost pandemium. But yeah, it's more
(04:12):
applicable to me because I am gonnaturn thirty later this year, so that's
prime major when the show starts. So I am learning about things that actually
makes sense now, I take, and I will. I'm standing on this
stone, one of this rock bymyself. I'm kay come up with if
you want New Girls better than Friends, don't here anybody says I've never seen
Well, I've I've seen Friends, but I've never watched it wholeheartedly. Um,
(04:34):
so maybe that's I don't know.I feel like Friends now though,
is very dated, because I thinkFriends ended twenty years ago now, So
it was like, I think NewGirl was so much more real than what
Friends is now because all these thesepeople on that show, I don't think
they had like they weren't doctors andlawyers, and they had those like ridiculous
New York apartments. Yeah, probablycalls what four thousand dollars a month these
(04:58):
days. They all lived together basicallyin one big room. And it's fun
because Winston, at least in thesecond season he's or first and the second
season he's a radio producer. I'mlike, ah, this makes so much
more sense now. I like that. So I like that Winston is like
the backbone of that show in areally cool way, because I mean it's
(05:19):
really about you know, Jess andNick and a little bit of Schmidt here
and there. But Winston's like theone that makes it all work for some
reason, He's the glue. He'sthe rock that holds the glue. But
this is actually a sad thing.Um those days of my game Stop discount
officially as of this week. Iwent in because, as you know,
(05:42):
the Spider Man PlayStation edition comes outas of this podcast recording this week with
the covers for the console and SpiderNPS five, was like, let me
see if it's up on game Stopand put my little soup my employee discount
that I had from what two threeyears ago when I worked there, and
put in the number, put inmy last name, tired and true.
Still worked two years after, didn'twork this week, so it's officially gone.
(06:06):
So no more game Stopped discounting. That's how I felt, Uh,
where after I got to let gofrom my heart? All my Adobe stuff
still worked for like about thirteen months. Month fourteen, I logged in and
was like, we need extra barriication, Like, oh no, I don't
have any extraction. Yeah, it'slike, wait, why why did you
wait until now to do? Likeyou gave me some time with it.
(06:29):
Yep, yeah, there it is. I tried it again just in case
it was a fluke, and Isay, sorry, we can't find the
page you're looking for it anymore? You know, are you sure? Like
it's supposed to be like an expimationpoint and now a question mark somewhere typing
in right now, I normally do, Okay, we got that. We
got And even my Google knows whatthe number is how many times I've typed
it in and I could not befound That employee either does not exist or
(06:53):
is expired. So I'm not eitherdead well, I'm not a real person
at all. Any Druggle in thechat says she remembers when she was so
he took at the child discount tomovies, but she was six. To
me, here's the thing. Youstill get the child popcorn at the movies.
They don't check you, they're justoh, okay, whatever, that's
the way to go. Baby.I'm good to the n I d s.
If you're like gears away from thehigh school in college, I don't.
(07:13):
I mean, it really depends onehell closely you looked like to your
college ID. So the smart thingis, and if you're a younger listener
listening right now, Hashley Crisis crewtake a very bad photo of your college
id and look super frumpy. Tryto make yourself look about fifteen years older.
You're gonna be riding that baby forthe to the moon. Hey,
(07:34):
there you go, take bad picturesto save money. But yeah, so
that was a little sadness in mylife. But you know what, we're
on WrestleMania. Watch got two weekstill they come out and the tickets go
on sale. We're gonna see whathappened. Baby. I'll be maxing out
my credit card and probably paying forit for a while time. Yeah,
that's okay, or your Venmo account. We don't know who's gonna buy all
(07:55):
the tickets still, we gotta figurethat out. I mean to find one
of these TikTok promote work with Stadthusthey all talk about who's got the highest
credit limit. Guess what it's gonnago down after this bridge. But Kevin,
goodbuddy. What she've been up to? Um? Not much. I've
been off for a few days.I took Monday and Tuesday off, so
(08:18):
I kind of just pure pattering aroundthe house, her things here and there.
Finally cleaned out my daughter's playroom. And she is just she's just a
pack rat. I don't know.I don't know. It's like the pandemic
set us back as far as teachingher how to set us back, because
we went from to clean up afteryourself or your played away to are you
alive? Are you good? That'sall that's all I care about. So
(08:43):
I've cleaned that up a little bit, moved some things around, so hopefully
she can. She She always saysit's hard for her to clean up when
her friends come over because her BarbieDreamhouse is right by the door to the
room and all the stuff ends upin the doorway. So I moved it
to the back of the room toactually have no excuse. It's in the
back of the room now, it'sthis doorway should be clear, but it's
too far now it's the first thingeverybody sees exactly. Um, she's upset.
(09:07):
I don't have said this before, but she said, ss this not
a new show, but it's calledthat Girl Lele. Yes. She said
it on Monday m Yeah, she'sobsessed with that show. But it's it's
a pretty funny show. So Itry to connect her, like I watched
this Nickel when I was a kid. I put on keen and kell had
no interest, no interest at all, not even all of that. Can't
even get you for five minutes sketches. No, it's funny. I actually
(09:28):
made her. I was sometimes Ijoke with her punishments. So she says
she didn't want to take a bathlast night, which is kid one on
one. So well, if youdon't take a bath, I'm not letting
you go to sleep some night andwatching Star Wars all night. And she's
like, tell you that's not fair. I'm like, I'm just joking,
like, know you work. I'mlike, why Star Wars and punishment?
Damn it? Um. This isa side tangent because we talked about Keenan
(09:50):
and kell Is. I think GoodBurger is probably gonna be based on how
the writers an actor. Shrik Goescould be the summer blockbuster movie next year
because it got finished and it's theonly one that's done that. That movie
could be kind of like um Barbietwo, but at a lower level,
because it's going to bring out thiswhole generation of Nickelodeon watchers that really haven't
(10:13):
had a chance to unite yet.I just want it to be an orange.
If this minde depends, if theactor's writer's trick still goes on until
then Orange Carpet, Come on,baby, bring it out. That's when
Nickelodeon had the bangers. When theyhad the Orange Carpet out us, we
got called orange Soda and it writesitself it right to save the popcorn combos
right themselves at the movie theater forthis movie. Other than that, um,
(10:37):
like I said, I took twodays off. I worked Sunday night
syndication programming, and I've been ina radio station at night in a long
time. I forgot I'll creepy becausethere's nobody there. Very creepy. You
think it's a shadow. No,it's yourself in the reflection. But you
know what could also not be.It was literally me, the guy that
was in the FM studio, andthen the TV crew downstairs. But even
(10:58):
that was like a a bare bonescrew because it was one guy doing one
hour news on on anchor Dan.I'm like, wow, they don't have
no person to bounce off. Itwas another weather guy that was it.
I was like, wow, it'sbare bones here on Sunday night. So
that was fun. And then Iwas supposed to back to work on Wednesday,
but I feel like my body waslike, no, we need one
more day, so take this migrainereal quick. And that's okay, Kevin.
(11:22):
He's just getting to that age, buddy, where migraine will shut you
down for the rest for the nextweek. I used to get him like
once, maybe twice a year.I haven't had one in a long time
though, They've been like at leastfive six years in the migraine, and
this one, like it started rightsI'm good. Used to go to bed
like eight thirty, so like afifteen I felt something, and then like
a forty five, I was like, oh my gosh, somebody who's drilling
(11:43):
into my head. I'm not goingto work to tomorrow. I can't even
sleep. But I ended up good, so I slept. Finally got to
back around three, like when Iused to wake up, and I woke
up next morning. I watched theentire American Gladys Doctor documentary on Netflix,
and it was Okay, Um,did they go to the modern era or
is it mainly just the old Americanglad It didn't go to the one they
(12:05):
did like it was like twenty twelvesomething like that. It was like eight
or something like whole Hogan And thenuh, Yeah, Muhammad Ali's daughter was
the or the host or something theydid. They didn't mention them without Umerica.
Glad they didn't. They wouldn't havehad that. Remember the rock version
of the show, which I actuallyloved. What was that one called?
I forget? Like Gladia? Game? Was Gladden the game? I log
(12:26):
it up? You're good? Yeah, but I watched that. It was
okay. Nothing. You weren't reallysurprised of Titans games ten games? It
was great. Nothing you were reallysurprised about. It was like, it's
like breaking news. They did cocaineand accepted each other all the time.
That was really It was the ninetiesand the eighties, of course they did.
(12:48):
But it was interesting though because alot of it was like, um,
how basically the studio screwed? Thatscrewed the actors? Was a great
timing right now? And then umm, not ply playing anything right now,
not really watching anything? Was thatsecret invasion. We'll get to that later.
But yeah, that's about it forme. All right, Well,
let's get on into it because it'stime for the news. No news,
(13:13):
And I have to remember which oneis the where the first things first button
is? First things first? Igot it. We have to talk about
coming out this week. Guess anothermovie coming out this weekend, Haunted Mansion,
Foolish More Tools, nine hundred ninetynine Haunts in One Room for one
(13:35):
More. But I got to seeit earlier this week. It comes out
this weekend. Let's face it,this summer has been bangers after bangers every
week. Last week we had toput two big ones in a weekend to
have it fit. Uh well, let's put in perspective, it's been.
(13:58):
It started out great and there werethree duds in the middle, and now
we're back to well duds and relativewe went to go see them. At
least Banger is also perspective, bangers, whatever you wanted to be. But
Hannah Managine comes out this week.I know we have Turtles out next week.
(14:18):
We'll probably be talking about that nextweek. Treys that dog movie with
Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, JamieFox that's also coming out in the horizon.
And then Blue Beetle, which isonly supposed to make fifty million dollars
worldwide, it's coming out next monthas well. I will say though strays
it's kind of funny. Yes,I'm excited to see that and just laugh,
(14:39):
you know, I just want tolaugh. That's all I need to
do this summer. Yeah, thathadn't really been that many communal comedies anymore.
It needs to be a thing.Yeah, I think it's either for
two hours. Yeah that or likeso, I guess the Internship was the
last one, which was that onewedding crashes. I know that old school
(15:00):
Anchorman's Anchorman two killed and that's that'sprobably why is because Anchorman two was just
so horrible. One is the onethat came out this year. I can't
remember what it was called. Isit there's an Asian movie that it's like
that, oh joy Ride that seemsfun. That kind of got buried though,
just because of all the like summerblockbuster movies coming out. But that's
one definitely. When it comes toBeacock, Yeah, boy's gonna watch Gonna
(15:20):
Pacock next week. Marco. Well, you don't have to be because you
own it digitally, because remember Igot you the DVD that you haven't claimed
from me. Still, Oh yeah, that's right, you didn't do that.
I forgot about that. Okay, man, we'll talk about that offline.
I'll give you that code. Baby. But Hanned Mansion comes out this
week. Got to see it,and I actually really liked it. I
don't Kevin, how do you feelabout the two thousand and three Eddie Murphy
(15:41):
Handed Mansion movie. I don't rememberit again. That's one of those that's
that time frame where I thought Iwas too old for kids movies and bras
a kid, so I never reallysat down and saw it, like and
paid attention to it. One ofthe things I just like, you know,
your honest, taking me all y'allto the movies. I don't want
to hang out with my little cousins. I want to do other things.
(16:02):
So I sat it like this,I don't like it. It's not funny,
it's not scary at all. UM, So I kind of agree.
I was. I think it wasten when that one came out in two
thousand and three, Um that thatmovie was great at the time. I
think when did Pirates come out?I think Pirates the first Pirates came out,
I want to say right after, right around the same time. I
(16:23):
don't know if i'd seen Pirates ornot, but I was like, that's
really dope. That's from the ridethat like was scared me as a kid,
and UM loved it kind of becamea cult classic. People really hating
on it because it's cheesy as hell, but you know it's a staple of
Halloween watching. This Haunted Mansion justreplaced that one as a staple in her
Halloween watching. So so you reallydid, like it's not like like just
(16:47):
like a cash graple. No,I don't. I don't think it's really
cash grab. I know it isDisney. Say what you will about Disney.
Um, but for me, Ikind of compared it. You know,
we had we've had Jungle Book recently. Um, this was or not
chunk Book, un Cruise. Thiswas a better ride to a movie adaptation
than Jungle Cruise. Not as goodas Pirates the Caribbean, because let's face
it, Pirates help usher in thesummer blockbuster season we're in now. But
(17:12):
this is really I think a greatHalloween movie just came out at a wrong
time in July. And mind you, that's probably because it'll probably on Disney
Plus in October, three month turnaround. Makes sense. It makes sense to
put that one day because maybe theyboost they get maybe I don't know,
a few thousand subscriptions if that's onDisney Plus. Yeah, because like,
well they don't have hope. Theyhad hocus Pocus too last year, which
(17:33):
was a dud, but this reallyfunny. As expected, Danny DeVito kills
it um in every scene he's in, And whether you like Always Sunny or
you like Matilda, you're gonna loveDanny DeVito in this movie. Any DeVito
has been around a long time, and he better stay around for a long
time. Yeah, he's an Americantreasure. He never went away and came
(17:55):
back like somebody actors do. LikeKeaton went away, he came back.
Um m morande Is kind of wentaway. He's kind of starting to come
back a little bit bit easy though, because the kid who knows that the
Honey I Trunk series is continuing now. But he's one of those like eighties
star Wars that went that he actuallywas around thinking of seven he's gonna taxi
shows. But he's never gone away. He's been working since the same It's
(18:17):
crazy, but yeah, I thinkthe entire cast this movie really killed it.
I would say everyone, but JamieLee Curtis killed it. Jamie Lee
Curtis kind of phoned it in.Um. She's Madam Leota aka the floating
head in the Crystal Ball if youride the ride. And that's the cool
thing about this ride is whereas thefirst Haunted Mansion really kind of try to
make its own story using the house, but not like the sort of storylines
(18:40):
you know through the rides, thisone is heavily influenced by the ride,
which I like it and think isreally dope because if you know, like
the hat Box goes, you know, the Axe Bride, you know all
this tiny stuff. Yeah, you'llget what's happening in the ride, where
mainly the first movie it was likeEaster eggs and that was it. So
you would go right now. Asfar as Disney World rides, Turn movies,
(19:02):
Pirates, Punted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, tomorrow Land. Yeah I've never
seen Tomorrowland, so that's dead bottom. But yeah, then I would probably
put Jungle Cruise this, and thenum, the Pirates movies, which is
their own category. Yeah, ifyou're if you're building furniture in the future,
put on Tomorrowland. I'm okay,I don't think that's that's a building
(19:22):
furniture mopping the floor type of movie. Here is a hidden gem though.
Tower of Terror, the DCAM moviethat premiered only on Disney I don't know
where that goes because you can't watchthat anywhere. It's not Disney plus for
some stupid reason. What what whatis the next Disney ride? It could
be a movie trying to think.Well, I think they're I think they're
(19:44):
trying to do I mean I thinkthe what's the YETI ride at Animal Kingdom?
Oh, escape isn't Escape from Meyet? I think it's called yeah,
Expedition Everest. That's what that couldbe a good one, um.
And pretty much most of the rightsnowadays are like just ip adapted into ride
form. So Gary really help youwith that one. Avatar two came out
(20:04):
last year. There's there's what nineStar Wars movies. Yeah, well actually
ten Star Wars movies actually speak ofit. We already said it. They're
making a new Tower of Terror movie, so with Scarlett Johanson. Remember,
so that eventually whenever that comes out, I do wish though I don't know
where the script is, if it'seven written. But there was a concept
that um I can't remember his name, creator, Mandalorian, writer Mandalorian John
(20:29):
Favre. Magic Kingdom or Magic KingdomMovie. Basically it was Nineto Museum,
but his Magic Kingdom at night theyactually come to life and it's a magic
kingdom dough what have been so cool? Maybe I really want to see that?
Like but yeah, so this movieit is two hours a little long
on the longer side. It isPG. Thirteen And there is a scene
in this movie that kind of likeleans into the like, oh, this
(20:52):
is kind of scary, Like Iwould not bring a chot. It's the
first fifteen minutes. Yeah, I'mscaring to see how how because Leah needed
needed encouraging, I'll say to gogoing on to manson the first time.
Now she loves it. Um um, Well, Jimmy Perry, the chat
says, though, do you rememberthe movie at Double Hockey Sticks? I
don't remember that. Yes, it'swith um who's the guy who? Sorry
(21:14):
this is gonna sound bad. Uhit had Will Fredell was like the demon
or something. Remember that? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, an idea for
the next day Disney Rod movie.Yes, Carol Tomorrow Baby, I'm okakids
agree. It's the concept, that'sthe tag line. Yeah, the tag
(21:41):
line. But you have that guyin the beginning, he's seen all of
the stuffing we can get to thefrom New York to la in seventeen days
or whatever. By training you havehim time travel and to each to take
him like, oh my gosh, this is amazing. And boy in the
movie, his head blows up.They could do what Sure, that's what
Kevin wants. It sounds like anadventure movie, but it really just turns
(22:02):
into a horror movie about time travelin terms of the Twilight Zone. Like
the guy that lost his glasses, even though the last person in the world
he was hardly wants to do withread. But I gave it an eight
out of ten. I think it'sgood. I think there are some scenes
that're like, oh, I wishI was back in the mansion. They
kind of do like field trips aside, but it makes sense for this movie,
(22:23):
and they're not. They don't teaseanything. I stayed till the end,
so there's nothing like, oh,they don't do the hurry bag like
they didn't Eddie Murphy one. Butif you love the ride, you'll love
this. There's actually like a scenein this movie that I for sure swore
they like they filmed the ride andput it in because it was like,
this is what you see on theride. So so there's the oly Sing
(22:47):
Animal where it's like there's a bigmountain with thunder going off. That's a
big thunder mountain. It's a lotof big thunder mountain overody. But does
the movie accomplish what all this isreally for? And want you want you
to go buy a ticket and goto the park right now? I don't
think so. But I think thismovie does a good job of just like
if you love the ride, you'regonna pay to watch this movie. Like
(23:08):
you will watch this movie and belike, man, that was great.
Maybe it does, Maybe it hasthat effect, but I don't think it,
because that Jungle Cruise had that effect. Was Jungle Cruise pretty not empty,
but was a pretty slow ride. Then they revamped it for the movie
and all of a sudden everyone cameflooding in. They're kind of doing the
same pattern. They're adding the hatBox ghost back into Haunted Mansion. It's
(23:32):
the whole thing, And so maybethat gets more people in. But I
think that Haunted Mansion is always oneof the more popular rides at Disney just
because it's like the one indoor rideeveryone can go do. That's my wife's
favorite ride actually at Disney, favoriteHaunted Mansion. My daughter's favorite parts of
Caribbean. Now, I'm not surewhat my favorite is, but even Carousel
(23:53):
Tomorrow, that's what's sounded like carrosltomorrow. It's that's up there, that
could be up there. But eventhough I haven't reading yet, it's Toronto
light Cycle. You haven't even readit yet's how would you know? Uh?
And then one more thing. JaredLeto is the hot Box ghost and
all I'm gonna say is more BSesque, more BS esque. That's all
I'm gonna say. Well, you'lltake a little seriously again, No,
(24:17):
but that's why he's perfect as hatBox Ghosts. So didn't you want to
me for the Versati show? Likein between that and in between Joker and
Mobs want to Emmy And it's like, yeah, we can talk about that,
but you know what we do talkabout Kevin some trailers, because it's
time to react to the trailer forJen v aka the Boys spinoff series that
(24:37):
is coming out this September, alot sooner than I thought. The fun
thing though, is because you enjoythis priceis viewer. I haven't seen this
trailer yet, so I'm excited tosee what what it has going on.
It's a good time it's two minuteson. We'll see if we get copyring
because technically the boys his own sortof buy Sony a little bit, but
we'll figure that out. Sony justdon't like this podcast for some reason only.
(25:00):
It is weird. As much praiseas we've given given their PlayStation,
there's jack strikers. They just liketo strike. I just want. I'm
gonna buy your damn controller. Idon't even own a PlayStation tomorrow, damn
it. I just want. Ijust want it, just in case the
thrill thrill. I'm gonna say,Look, I'm playing Spider Men in my
(25:21):
mind. I could we could testthat theory. I wanted way to test
that theory than buying a twenty dollarsmore expensive controller for the PlayStation. Five
right, Kevin, and again,I will give you my network password.
You can just lug him. Better. Be ready, I'm about to pre
order that thing tomorrow. I'm like, give me that a best sword.
We'll make a Google docs a blacktime. I'm playing this time of this
(25:41):
time, all right, Kevin, let's get in this gen V trailer kind
of three. You can hit playone, A two, and a three.
Being a hero. It's not aboutcool it's not about glory, It's
about sacrifice. Gott, Gott,Guy, Kevin, you're muted, can't
(26:02):
hear you come to adult University.Oh you're good now, you're good.
Now. We've trained the best andbrightest young hero since nineteen sixty five.
You give me like pitch perfect keyvibes a little bit twenty twenty two Jump
Street creepy there, that's prototype rightthere, Marie Moro, you could be
(26:23):
the first top ranked freshman. It'slike VG video game high school. They
ranked each other. What you haven'ttarget on your back? A little hit.
Some of us were going, let'shave a good time, am I
hero Academia? Yeah, I'm stilldrunk from last night? Perfect Just take
(26:45):
a slip, say Turbo Rush cureshangovers, and pour this on my giving
cured cancer. There are dangerous evilpeople back there. School. Okay,
it's still the boys everything. It'sVulker, oh Puppet, Oh the Lady,
(27:19):
other Guy, Tag Team, Explosion, freshman classes, Savage just here,
Okay, I like it. Yeah, this will be that's a good
(27:42):
like. Um, how do Isay it? Nothing news coming out anymore?
Yeah? We you know, wegot we got twisted metals out now,
which we might talk about on Monday. Who knows, depends on how
many episodes we watch. But Ithink this. I mean not to say
it's the perfect time for this tocome out with the writers and actor strike,
but it kind of is, becauseit's like, we can't have the
(28:03):
boys because they're doing a strike insupport, so give us this, which
is boys light exactly, and itkind of gives you that takes of the
boys, leaves you wanting the boysmore and again. I feel like everything
that's released right now is a benefitto the SAG and writer strike because like,
we want more of this good stuff. Yeah, it's proof of like
this is the good stuff we hadin the bank and guess what you're about
(28:26):
to lose six months from now,we will not have as much good stuff
as this. I think. Isaid last week doing our Brobin having review,
I said, I said, this, this may be good for the
studios to see they don't need theactors. I was actually wrong. I
thought about it. This actually goodfor to try to see what we can
do with good writers and good actors. Do you want more of this?
Vegas? Damn it? But yeah, Kevin, what do you think about
(28:48):
it? Um? What you yeah, because this is our first time watching
and what do you think about likevibes or who Yeah, it has those
boys boys vibes right as soon asyou say guy get punched through his mouth
the back way, so yeah, right away, the dialogue sounds very like
just again, just like The Boys, Seth Rogan like he has a hand
still firmly deep into this show andnot just like handing off to somebody else.
(29:12):
Um. It gives me really excitedto see some more backstories too about
the Boys, because all the backstorieskind of told through exposition, which is
fine, but to see like, you know, how they actually may have
come to pass through the ranking ranking. Why is a train there? Blew
up a hit center there, Sohe leaves it asking questions. But the
(29:33):
way the Boys does, which alwayslike even though there's heavy things happening and
still to comedy, that kind ofleveled it on out. Yeah. And
the interesting thing is we we canonly infer from the trailer, but it
seems like a train will be morepart of this show, whereas the past.
I think last season of the Boys, he was kind of part of
it, but he's you know, remember in season one he was like the
maintaggonist with Hughey, and now he'skind of been more of a side character.
(29:56):
This is you know, he canpop him up, and then pretty
much everyone else is our new characters, except you know, the Orange lady
who's like the the VP of theseven, and then the like actor guy
who gives everyone like backstories and stufflike that. It's cool to see this
world flourish while having all the otherdrama actually go on with the boys Homelander
(30:17):
and his kid because remember we allhate his kid because he switched sides over
randomly last season. Who was asaswitcher um. And also it's a good
setting. A college settings also goodsfor like you know, the demo of
this show, because I mean,we all kind of remember, but I
didn't go to a traditional college, but college wasn't wasn't as far away as
the fields. We kind of cancan um kind of give it the characters
(30:41):
on on that level too, LikeI remember college. It was kind of
weird about yeah, like a backway, but it was kind of are they
taking math? They taking normal mathin college in the super college or is
it just oh, how to flyone on one? How to like maybe
kind of be like be like adarker version of the Profession X School or
Get the Children, So maybe likea darker version of that where instead of
(31:03):
like, you know, profession thatkind of enlighten you, it's like,
no, you're a product. We'regonna make money off of users. Yeah.
It's also wild too because this iscoming out and I know we're who
knows what's happening with the next seasonof Umbrella Academy with all the strikes and
stuff. But I always like,I'm like, oh, boys stuff.
But I'm always like, wait,no, The Boys always comes out like
a month before a month after thenext season of Umbrella Academy comes out.
(31:26):
It's great for both shows because they'rejust like they're very good, like not
Marvel and DC related superhero shows.I still have to actually finished the third
season of Umbrella. Said it waslike, yeah, all right, but
it's worth I mean, it's stillgood, I think, better than a
certain show we just watched. Butwe'll talk about that in about a couple
of minutes from now. You're talkingabout the other show on Netflix. She
(31:48):
what was a call with the guy? No, not Jupiter Ascending. We
don't talk about Ascending. We did. They're wasted your time, But Kevin,
let's switch on back over to thenormal view. Good sir, there
you go. That was perfect timing. The trailer just wrapped up, so
I figured out, now's a goodtime to switch it back over normal time
because for one last time, it'stime to keep doing what Kevin, roll
(32:12):
and scroll and scroll and scroll andwhat get out because we're talking about Marvel's
Secret Invasion as part of MCO inreview. So we kind of waited today
to let you know, both ofus process the show, both of us,
(32:35):
you know, see what other peoplewere thinking. And so we're gonna
give our non spoiler thoughts. Getin that breakdown this episode at the MCU
and re rankings to predict where it'sgonna go next. I'm gonna say this.
JB. Perry and the Chat wroteit best. Saw Barbie last night
and literally could not stop thinking about, Oh, no, Gravick is in
Barbie Land because Kingsley ben Ider isa Ken. Yeah. The funniest thing
(33:00):
about Barbie for me was I toldmy co host on Friday, a lot
of last week we came out,I said, watched this on on Monday
Morning Fox News when we want tosorry about how Barbie's two woke and just
like clockwork Barbie, that was thefirst thing they show. Barbie is a
good movie, y'all. Don't sleepon it. If you, if you,
if you did Oppenheimer last week,it's worth watching Barbie this week.
(33:22):
The line is out the door stillfor that movie at the AMC week theater.
I think I might catch it afterbecause I want to see hund to
Mansion and I want to see Turtles. I think I catch it after that.
I'm like, probably on HBO orsorry, Max, by the time
you can watch again it Max,Max, it's HBO, Max, Dang,
And I'm not giving it that tonebox Office exactly exactly. It's HBO.
(33:45):
But Kevin, episode six aka Home, what did you think about the
episode later? We'll talk about theseason as a whole. Good Night Great
did not stick the landing in afantasy plastic way like local fantastic, like
Falcon Winner Soldier, I would say, and even miss Marvel to a degree.
(34:08):
Um, hold on the cast droppedme crazy. Ne're fine? Um
yeah, Kevin's right. Um,this is technically one well lit well list
the shows, because I don't rememberwhat what number of this show is.
But you have WandaVision, Loki Falcon, Winter Soldier, Miss Marvel, what
if Hawkeye Miss Marvels. So thisis the nice show she Hulk and in
(34:29):
this show. Yes, this isa nice show. Yeah, so said
did not great? Um good expositionUm good. I want to say,
definitely great acting on a part ofSamuel Jackson. Um in the in the
in the parts with Kingsley ben aDeer, Um great. I want to
(34:50):
say it wasn't great, but reallygood. Reveal of the fracking pods non
spoiler. Remember Kevin, this isthe non spoiler part. Give me the
spoilers. But that's the part whereI had I wish they could have added
another ten minutes to go more intothe fram Yeah, because that was interesting.
And even towards the end of theshow where they showed kind of like
the result of Earth realizing their scrollsamong them going more a little bit of
(35:14):
that too, that that'll been interestingas well. Um they kind of wrapped
it up in a nice little bowbut quickly. Yeah. Um, but
wasn't a nice bowl because it's it'slike, oh it was. It was
because of gain I won't get apollersyet, but because of the interaction between
two characters. It was. Itwas. It was a sweet, touching
bow at least maybe maybe maybe becauseI'm married, I like all this,
(35:38):
but yeah, all in all, definitely not. It wasn't as bad as
Moon Night where it just turned toa giant yeager fight. Basically. Um
wasn't as I want it, disappointing, but as basic as One Division where
it just turned to a marble thirdact thing where you got our suit and
started using the heck the hecks thingsthat they do craft du um. And
(36:01):
it definitely wasn't as meta as sheHUWK. But that being said, it
still probably was more of a justa mid finale for me kind of lines
of Hawk Eye. Even with Hawkeye. I think they got the costumes.
Was like, okay, now we'rejust fighting. That was pretty much it,
you know, yes, but yeahthat's that's all I really thought.
I mean, like, I likesome things, but mostly I've just got
(36:21):
nothing was bad, but nothing wasgreat, so to speak. That's kind
of feel about it. Okay,I also agree, I feel like this
was finale was okay. Um,it really was, unfortunately kind of doing
the trope of you know, hereis two villains that looked the same and
similar to each other, fighting offagainst each other, which she Hulk,
(36:44):
you know, after she Hulk,we're kind of thinking, oh, maybe
Marvel, you know they promote madefun of themselves, maybe a little course
correct, but following similar trappions.Mind you, that's probably they were all
were filming at the same time, special effects, all that good stuff.
Um. But yeah, I wasreally shot, not shocked, but just
like, oh dope. But Iwant to know what's next and not have
(37:05):
to wait six months because we don'tknow. Good Lord knows what's gonna happen
in the next six months of awriter's strike and actors strike. Um.
But I would say you're right kindof mid to lower tier. Um.
I feel like the episode as awhole with the show, um of like,
oh, it could have done thisstuff, but it didn't. But
we'll get into spoilers and then we'lltruly rank it with everything else. An
(37:28):
mcu interview. Yeah, I'm notgoing to be the person that said they
should have did X y Z,Like I'm not going to rewrite the show
to ye feel better for me.But there were some things they could have
did not not even I think theycould have changed, but I think they
could have just I feel like theyhave to. It's a it's a streaming
show, so it's not like you'reyou're bound to twenty nine minute because it
got a show. Well, Ithink, and I think that's the thing,
(37:50):
just because it's not a spoiler isMarvel is kind of shoehorned itself.
Now at these six episode shows. And obviously we have Daredevil, which is
supposed to be they said eighteen show, eighteen episodes, but it's sounding like
season one's nine episode. Season twois nine episodes as well, whenever that
may happen. If it happens,Yeah, but we've kind of the Marvel
and sort of the Star Wars formulais, here's six episodes, the varying
(38:15):
lengths, and you will be disappointedby the last episode's length because it usually
is one of the shortest ones.Kind of the similar case. This one,
I think was like the second shortestepisode, where really it is like,
oh, if you had another episode, like give me an epilogue episode
or something, would have been reallygreat and also kind of would break against
(38:35):
formula kind of how She Hulk did. I'm just like, all right,
now here's aftermath, because we needwe kind of need that of where we're
going in the MCU. I dogive him credit though, because each episode
was over thirty minutes. I givehim that much. It wasn't any like
it was almost like depressing to pullup a one division and see like twenty
four Like yeah, but I thinkfor one division, especially when it was
(38:57):
like the first episode where it waslike it was the black and white you
know, I love Lucy Bewitched episodesand that they were running that format,
so it was kind of for areason. But when you get to this
is more dizzy plus as a whole, a Mandalorian episode that is forty five
minutes and then next week's episode istwenty eight minutes, like well if yeah,
I'm missing out on content here. This one was it was like fifty
(39:21):
fifty Like hold, I can actuallypulled it up, pulled up on my
phone right now. The first thefirst one, the first two were fifty
minute episodes, I'm pretty sure, and then it dropped to forty and there
was like thirty for recip and Ithink it is like I think we've talked
about this every time we get tothe finale episodes of Marvel shows, specifically
even Mandalorian. Is that ah man, I wish it was longer, like
(39:45):
you don't have to do an extraepisode, but like pad out those episodes
and just have us sitting scenes andlearn more because I feel like spoilers ahead,
full spoilers, Taylor's and Maria Hill'sdeath like happened and went without any
like meaning, and I really likewas a little disappointed, like those were
bigger characters, specifically for this sideof the MCU, the Cosmic Scrolls,
(40:09):
Captain Marvel that they've now just beenwritten off. Who knows if it's Marvel
trying to get rid of some contractsor whatever, but like it sucks,
and we'll talk about you know,Kobe Smolders and Maria Hill at the end,
but like, come on, likeI could have kept on me in
longer. At least episode one wasfifty four minutes, episode two or fifty
(40:30):
seven. Episode three was forty three, so four was thirty seven, Episode
five was thirty eight, and episodesixty thirty seven, so they were all
over thirty minutes long. But atthe same time, it's like, I
don't get me wrong, I don'twant House of the Dragon like episodes because
that drained me, like a ninetyminute well like, I think it's fine
when it's like one episode and likespecifically reference I think it really happened whatever
(40:54):
Game of Throne season it was Battleof the Bastards, which was like an
hour twenty and we were like movies, let's make a movie, and that
was a movie. But then you'reright when it goes too long and it's
just being long to be long andlearning about things you don't care about.
I get that, but in thissense like pad it out or at least
like it's weird that we get hypedwhen an episode of any of the Disney
(41:15):
Plus shows is an hour and twominutes. Oh, they're spoiling two minutes
of content exactly. I feel likethere's a good like for like for something
like I said, for something likeBarry, Barry can be nine to ten
episodes at recent example, for you, the Bear you just finished season two
(41:35):
bears perfect. I don't think anyonewas longer than like the longest one.
What was was the uh spoiler theDinner episode, Like there's like an hour
or something, but the finale waslike forty five minutes. I feel like
forty five minutes. It's like that'ssweet. That's sweet. If you do
like ten to forty five minute episodes. I feel like that's enough time to
get anything I get out. Butwhen when it's like, you know,
fifty one, thirty seven, fortythree, twenty nine, it's like it's
(41:58):
weird trying to get the flow ofthe show like m Once again, why
I believe these shows are really they'reshot like movies but added into TV episodes,
which I think is the wrong strategyto go about it. Exactly one
Division and mar Marble will shot likeTV shows, and that's why they that's
the most popular too. Everybody loveswhy I let talk about The Soldier that's
still a six six episode movie,it's not a TV show. And why
(42:20):
we love Loki well because Loki gotto be low key baby. That's why
you shot like a TV show, not like a movie. Yeah. So,
but let's get on episode six, kind of breaking it down throughout the
episode that will rank it. Episodesix starts off with purple blood everywhere in
the aftermath at Priscilla's house. Asshe's leaving the house, it gets a
call from Fury. Fury is,like we learned from last week's episode,
(42:44):
headed to Russia New Scrollos to confrontGravic. We have this good line of
I've dialed your number of million times, but this is the first time I
hit send, just kind of showingtheir love. I think that's the thing
of this show really shined what itwas two person scenes. Pretty much every
two person seeing that happened in thisshow great. I kept putting acting every
(43:06):
time the two persons scenes would happen, but whatever was action or stuff like
that, it kind of lost itsway. Um, but we find out,
Um, Fury's gonna attack the base. He's gonna give graviquity once kind
of having this loss. Wee kindledlove Priscilla at Kvara. We'll find out
later in the episode. Um,we find out Fury to enter the base
sends an unmanned car to kill thescroll guard. And I was like,
(43:28):
that's a classic Nick Fury move oflike, oh, you think he's in
the car even if he's like duckedbut still in the wheel of the car.
Now he's just offside. He's noteven near that car, just like
a buss. But while this isgoing on, we find out the other
plane of action for this episode,President Ritson's hotel or hospital room meeting with
Roady and like the war chief Chiefof arm whatever you call that, thinks
(43:52):
was a Navy admiral. Sure,I put military person um figuring out what
the plan is. They know scrollsor hiding in Russia. Russia was supposedly
using them to attack the US.Really, Rody Scrody sorry having their plan
come to fruition. Um. Funnyline they say is did you take a
(44:13):
stupid pill off your breakfast this morning? To the general that they're just trying
to discredit completely with their actions.Yeah, Rody got rule out of pocket
in this one. You just atthis point it's like, why did how
did we not know? This wasn'treally the whole time. Yeah, I
was thinking back to endgame. Helands on and end game he goes,
what's up. I'm kind of smallman like Roaldy wouldn't say that. Well,
(44:35):
man, I'm talking about that inabout ten minutes, so um,
but we find out, uh,cut back to Fury that he's getting idine
poisoning from the reactors. He's coughingup and I gotta lie this entire time.
The twist I thought that was gonnahappen was that he was faking being
sick Compared to the twist that actuallywas I thought the same thing. I
thought he was picking it the entiretime because even at the like, at
(44:58):
one point he pulled like some kindof like inhaler device or something like that.
That's what that's what you're gonna usedto heal himself and then fight Gravic
Hanna hand Like, No, thatwasn't it. No, because we find
out skipping ahead that this theory isactually Gaya in disguise, And it was
a cool reveal, a little predictivebooks you're like, they have not shown
guy at all this episode if youthink about it, but really cool nonetheless,
(45:21):
And that's why I didn't mind,because I mean it made sense,
like during the fight, she says, she killed my mother and you killed
my father, so why why wouldhe come to come from Avenge? Like
it it makes an actually perfect sensethat she will want to go fight him.
M So, like I like howI did that, And I thought,
you know, maybe it was itcould have been seen as like,
you know, we need something, something to do, but it actually makes
(45:44):
narrative sense, like I'll be upsetthat I got killed my parents. Yeah,
we also find out Gravic has killedI don't know if all the scrolls
and new scrolls, but a goodnumber of them just scroll bodies flowing about
everywhere. But we do cut backeventually we have we have this very good
acting scene where Samuel Jackson h KingseyBenader essentially you're doing a stage play in
(46:07):
a one route, a one actplay essentially, just like uh, Gravicks
saying, you pimped us Fury, and when you were done, you threw
us away. I was like,Oh, that's some good act line right
there. You give them snaps.Yeah, Uh, Gravick says, your
little vendors are they on standby? What about that invisible cloak and shield?
I thought, first cloak and dagger? Are we u? And we also
(46:30):
find out Gravick's face, his facewas essentially the first human he killed,
which was Fury's kind of act toact act for him to get initiated in
that Scrolls on the cover um.Eventually we find out good line was Fury
knew the entire time that the onlyway to save them was to make them
a home on Earth. M verygood line, very pungent throughout this episode.
(46:52):
It's easier to save eight billion thanit is to change their hearts and
minds, which proves true to theend of this episode as well. Oh
yeah, because I mean, we'lltalk about that when you get to the
end of the episode. He's right, So I do wish he had reached
out to the guardians, like, hey, you got to get that floating
hit right, yeah, like abillion scrolls, you can, they come
with you. Eventually we do.Um cut back to Sonia trying to get
(47:17):
Scroty away from Ritzen, kind ofsaying, Fury's coming here to kill uh,
to kill Ritson. While in doingso she disables or not disables what
is takes out all of her allof the security details, so it is
just really Scroty in Ritzen. Eventuallywe find out that Sonia proves to herself
(47:39):
Scroti as Scrody was, Oh youmust be a scroll if you're not checking
behind doors, which is a dopeline too. Also, we didn't have
a competition one day about security guardsand two pair of movies because they are
useless. They are they are fanningcannon fodder. I never forget the dark
Knight scene where they're literally like surroundinghim in our building has been built get
(48:00):
and he kicked them all out thedoor. Hanging through each other, like
what are you for? What areyou? I mean? Even Iron Man
was iron in two where a blackwidow just is decimating an entire hallway of
security people. Stop put a securitypeople. The movies are useless another security
in wrestling, we also know thewrestlers, you know, they're not real
(48:21):
security people. We find out though, Graphic activates the reactor now that he
has the Harvest. Mainly it hasCarol Danver's DNA, which is what he
was looking for, a bunch ofother Avengers DNA pretty much he puts in.
The machine has everybody both sides ebanyMo callabsidian Um has Stanos's DNA for
everybody you could want that has powers. It is an Avenger. Now Gravick
(48:45):
has it essentially, Yeah, andlike it lifestyle from old Yeah. And
at first I was like, oh, so, like does he die when
he gets these powers or something? But no, he stops, uh Graphic
trying to kill Hi. I'm like, oh, Fury got the powers too.
Now it is Gaya. Well doyou think that through that style of
(49:06):
I guess um power I was wortchinga human can handle. I don't know.
I mean the machine I get I'munder the pretense it was built for
Scroll DNA to inhabit whatever DNA they'rein checking it's tim gonna go with that,
uh, because I feel like alot i'd be a little bit too
much Mojo Jojo cossa house for humansthat there's a lot of technology talk.
(49:30):
But eventually we find out I putthis graphics, got whole cans. So
this guy they both got hulcans, got hulcans. Uh. And there's a
lot of character, a lot ofsuperpowers they both inhabit, just shouting out
abomination, drags, ghosts, corgebbidy ma, there's a hulk foot Captain,
Marvel mantis um. All kind ofshown throughout the fight scene they have
(49:52):
so too. I think guys protmention was it was a drags armed against
that. I was not like,Okay, that drags, that's that's group.
That's the whole Yeah, and I'mshowing it. And that was the
cool part of this fight where itreally was Scroll v Scroll super super Skull
versus super Skull, which is thetypical Marvel First Thing movie phenomenon of you're
(50:14):
fighting an evil version of yourself, but this case it was the evil guy
facing a good guy version of himself. Well, i'll say evil the dory.
Still, I don't, guy,don't. I don't know what we'll
find out maybe who knows? Maybenot. Essentially the fight ends up.
During this fight, we find outGraphic and Scrody want the bomb to go
(50:36):
off because all the fracking pods arealso in Russia New Scrollos, so if
they kill all the bodies there, the Scrolls can fully be those people and
not be recognized at all. Um. But it does end with Guya punching
a mega hole alah. Dragon BallZ the first episode where pickle Up puts
a hole through Goku's chest through gradsuh does it through gravick and he dies?
(51:00):
Interesting though, is he had extremists, so I don't know why he
didn't heal from that one in thatcase. Also quickside note um, the
level on Dragon ball Zy Budakai whereyou had to keep pit them in position
every time the worst thing they couldever do. I didn't even have a
PlayStation that body knew about that level. I think I broke a controller kind
(51:22):
of spin that stupid stick. Butyeah, you're right, maybe extremists should
have healed him. But I believe. Also didn't didn't Pepper kill him with
extremists and the Iron Man three?Um, it was more he explode.
She exploded him because I remember theyput the Iron Man armor in him and
then she like shot like a bombthat went off with Killian. Yeah.
(51:46):
I don't know. Jerry's out onthat, but they kind of just like,
oh, he's dead, just don'tworry about it, it's over.
Or maybe a hole is a holein the middle of the custins nervous system
is right too much more extremist,I guess. I don't know, I
guess science. But while this allhappens, we find out Guy then proceeds
to free all the humans from thefracking pods, including Martin Freeman's Agent Ross
(52:09):
from the beginning of this season andactual Roadie, who cannot walk and is
in a hospital gown. So,Kevin, before we go any further,
when the hell do you think theyboth got it put in fracking pods?
I'm guessing maybe they caught Agent umwhat's his name? Aged? Uh?
(52:34):
What kinda forever Guy Ross? AgentRoss. They must have caught him either
before after he went into a conda, so the first time the first movie
or a second movie. I thinkthat back they might have caught him during
Civil War. So you think Rosshas been a scroll since Civil Wars?
In Civil War maybe because that waythey can get into a conda and they
(52:55):
can they can learn things that theycouldn't learn before. And that's that's the
weird thing even with that is ifhe's been a scroll the entire time,
how come there wasn't a Condon scrollBecause I feel like that would And that's
kind of just the downside of theMarvel Disney Plus shows is they like to
have a specific scope. But whenyou think about, like, well,
I wasn't there what Condon scroll thatwould if if if this scroll was integrated
(53:17):
with Waconda, they would have likego all in on Waconda, you know,
well quote mcconaugh forever. I guesshe didn't stay there the whole time.
Um, but uh, it definitelyhad at least had him a conversation
like again, he was basically hewas basically a phone call away from Sery
and yeah, Queen Romanda. SoI'm thinking maybe both of these guys would
(53:38):
have been around the Civil War anddefinitely definitely um um Rody was taken after
the crash, So I think soyou think civil War okay, Um,
so I forgot to mention Fury andSonya they killed Scrody. Uh so they're
they're dead. We know we haveour actual Roadie now, so no more
(53:59):
scrolled, just roady for us.Now, I'm in the belief I think
Marvel was smarter to do that.He was roady through Endgame and in Falcon
Winner Soldiers. Really the only timehe was a scroll because of the leg
braces, because in every other sceneafter Civil War he's need the leg braces.
Why would the scroll pos as that? But then all of a sudden
(54:20):
the leg braces don't like, don'tneed it, aren't need it anymore.
To say about that is because welive in the Marvel technology world where he
can just you know, you thinkin your helmet comes on. So maybe
it was some kind of thing thatcomes under your pot that um or maybe
just put it on his pants overit. I don't know, but yeah,
(54:40):
I think obviously they're trying to teethose up of future projects coming soon.
Remember we have um the Wakanda spinoffseries that's supposed to have denied Gerre
and most likely Agent Ross in that. Yeah, and I made a good
point in a chat that maybe Rosswas taken during his custody when he was
actually taking the custody by the CIA. Yeah, which actually makes it out
(55:00):
of tends to because we already knewSqualls in Baby traded the government. They
couldn't be like, okay, boop, you're you're roster. And then obviously
the ROADI thing teeing up armor warswhenever that will happen, if it happens
now, because really is where themain thing with that is where we all
thought it was gonna be Roady dealingwith Tony's death and who gets what to
(55:22):
his armor and all that stuff, bringing back maybe justin Hammer now is does
RHODI know Tony dead? They didn'teven have the Roadie really talk and the
episode after he was rescued, whichI think could have given it away,
not given it away, but givenus something be like Okay, we know
where this Roadie is from and thenpinpoint from there instead of having a guess,
Yeah, that that definitely gives them. I'm well, the whole Phase
(55:45):
five has been about greaming before,I've been about greaving, so this could
be like one more because I meanjust imagine, you know, I hate
to be all morbid, but youknow, you get put in a fracking
pod and I'm talking to Scrollsy rightnow, and then Squaldwood he gets taken
out and realize that, oh mygosh, Keev has been dead for years.
Maybe a little sad, a lotof that actually, but those theories
(56:06):
on that we'll get. We're stillgot a little bit more of episode.
Essentially, Fury and Priscilla, theyhave a meeting that seems like, oh,
they're going to separate ways. Eventuallyfind out Priscilla goes back in her
scroll form, becomes Vara. Shedecides to go with Fury up back into
space. She essentially we find outFury has been working on the Cree scroll.
(56:29):
Peace talks accord and a saber, which teas up the Marvels most likely.
Essentially, we have another good lineI love you as I am,
and Fury says only as you areWhen she comes in the scroll form,
they go up into that, wellthis is happening. We find out Sonia
has teamed up with Gaya to preparepre an eventual war for something. They
(56:51):
have a good line here saying Iwill use you and you will use me.
To make the planet safe for bothof our people. And then we
find out Ritz in Yeah, he'sa I'm gonna say it, Trump like
very trump Like what's the word afield fiermongering. Good job there you go.
Yeah, you literally told people togo kill aliens, like whoa,
(57:14):
and they do. They kill ChrisMcDonald's scroll because we get shoot. It's
weird because we see his body.I'm like, who is that? And
then they kill the scroll. Ohokay, it was it was shooting McGavin.
But they also kill British Prime Minister, who isn't in the scroll version
anymore. And so that's just theplanet the MCU is in kind of a
(57:35):
little too reel based out in theworld we're in right now. But you
know, I actually, like Ihope that part of Captain America Brave New
World is about this. This isactually what you would need like Captain American
stepping and be like, hey, what are y'all doing? You know what
I mean, Like, I mean, this is not right essentially, And
that's kind of the power of youknow, we always talk about the President
of the United States is the leaderof the free world all times of media.
(57:59):
It's always depicted as that. Butnow, yeah, the world is
xenophobic, we hate aliens, andthere are a lot of aliens really if
you think about it in the MCU, so some of the aliens we're fighting
to save, to save the earthand any time. So yeah, that's
what I was saying earlier. Iwish they kind of went more into that,
(58:20):
because that also could be what theThunderbolts are about. Yeah, I
mean I figure out who actually allthe squirrels, Yeah, which is weird
because then it's really then it's reallyjust what secret invasion should have been.
But yeah, but you would youwould think that Elaine, I can't remember
my full name, but Elaine's teamwould be a little bit more lethal than
the Avengers. Yeah, so theyactually want to go out and kill the
squirrels and just works running the manand basically and that's kind of what the
(58:43):
Thunderbolts, at least in the comicsare there, like the alt version of
the Avengers, but led by NormanOsbourne and so, like you said,
they're more dangerous. They kill people. Um, but it is interesting because
we all thought Thunderbolt Ross Harrison Ford, he was gonna be the guy that
was gonna become president at the endof the series, or go up for
election and make the world a worserplace. But now it seems like they're
(59:05):
gonna make Thunderbolt Ross be the onewho's like, yeah, we gotta get
rid of Ritson. This man,it's crazy. Take me instead. I
wonder if it's that, or maybemaybe Thunderbolt Ross is I don't know.
I think it goes president, vicepresident, secretary of State, so you
can figure of the house. MaybeRoss is somewhere in there, and they're
gonna assassinate the president and vice presidenttoo because of this. Maybe I mean
(59:25):
that could work and if they wantedto. But yeah, and that's that's
really cool. It is kind ofthe cool thing to think, all right,
where is Marvel going next? Butthe other thing is will Marvel actually
go there? Because we've had we'vebeen kind of burned by the shows of
like they t things up, maybelook in a wand Division and then but
they kind of reckon everything unfortunately,And that's the sucky thing is wand Division
(59:45):
is so good then Multiverse Man haskind of dampened it of like how canon
it was. That's the other thingtoo, that Marvel always goes you know,
in a like a yo yo.So we had one division. Let's
talk about the magic and the Witcheryand the X and then forget about that.
Now we're doing ground base. Fuckingwhen a soldier, it's always about
(01:00:05):
all this, not forget about that. Now we're going into Loki. Different
timelines, but they never tell likea linear story and they're bringing all together.
It's always up and down, upand down, up and down,
which is, I guess is whatcomics do as well. But I kind
of wish they would have. Wishthey would have spent all of last year
or yeah, that's two years doingall multiverse stuff then stopped and then all
this ground level stuff back to backto back to back, and think,
(01:00:29):
well, and it's like and it'sa weird thing. And you know,
we love Marvel. What we talkabout all the time is this like with
the Shrek going on, and thenyou know everything with King, the actor
who plays King, where Marvel isin it. Marvel is in a really
weird point position right now, likeall right, well, we said we're
(01:00:49):
building secret ores, but we haveto be stagnant right now, so we
can build everything, but we can'tpush everything forward, you know, And
and then's another rumor that they maypush back Um the Marvels. No,
please connect year Please no, becausebecause this this kind of movie, you
kind of want Bree Larson to promoteit. Larsen, well, she's an
(01:01:09):
Oscar winner. Want her everywhere talkingabout this movie. You and you want
to see her with um I can'tremember her name but Spectrum and you want
to see her Gianna Paris, youwant you want to see them on Jimmy
Kimball want to sofone together? Whatdo you want to see that interaction?
And that would get you to gosee this movie. Now while in this
movie, this movie probably still makea easy six hundred seven million dollars to
(01:01:29):
the box office without that, Withthat, they could push it to a
billion again. It could be thebillion dollar the fanchase for Marvel I mean,
I think even look at just likeGuardians as an example, being the
first casualty of the writers strike andlate night TV show not happening, and
how much that affected that movie notbeing promoted. Obviously they've banked on TikTok
and YouTube interviews and a lot ofstuff, but now those have to be
(01:01:50):
over because of scabbing and movies andthe actors strike and everything. Um,
but it's interesting just the point we'rein the Marvel universe. Like I was
excited, but I don't know,like what's gonna happen because I've kind of
doubted some things right now, youknow. Yeah, I'm still not on
there. There was a couple ofvideos going around on YouTube earlier this week
(01:02:13):
about it it's time for a monthfor university reboot. Not anywhere near there
yet. Yeah, I mean,I feel like when you were on such
a winning streak like Marvel was withyou know, it was it was like
Winners Soldier, Guardens, the Galaxy, Avengers, even Avengers too when it
first came out. People love thatmovie and it still made money. They
were on a roll. So we'vewe've gotten used to great. So it's
(01:02:37):
it's kind of like Patriots fans theywant like six super Bowls in six years
and now they're just regular everybody atPatriots sucked Now. No, they're really
good. You just got spoiled.Yeah, It's kind of like where we
were Marvel, we kept winning superBowls all the time that we're just you
know, getting CHAMPIONSIP games and gettingto the playoffs, and that's not getting
people anymore. But also we gotthe dungeone. This episode ends, no
(01:02:59):
end courtesy no nick Fury will returnsthe worst part of them. Yeah,
I was like, no end credits. Nick Fury is the king of the
end. He was the first endyea one with them, and it was
wild because the Disney Plus went tolike, oh, watch this next thing.
I was like, no, youdon't know what you're talking about,
Disney Plus. I gotta watch theend and oh, there's nothing here.
They were right. I'm kind ofhoping at some point Marvel starts doing kind
(01:03:22):
of like what they did with withum Invincible, to drop drop a random
episode to get exhibition and then don'ttell anybody about it, just dropping and
then okay, we did that, now we're moving on, you know what
I mean. But I think Ithink they can't do that because Invincible could
benefit from that because people watch thaton their own time. But Marvel has
built that their shows, their moviesare appointment viewing, so they don't tell
(01:03:44):
people that's out. People aren't goingto watch it. That's true, that's
a good point. But I thinka lot of these shows and the movie
would benefit from just like a noteven like an hour long thing, the
minsible things like I think, like, well, I mean, look,
we used to have the shorts,we had the Marvel one shot scenes pretty
much those would be perfect for this. Just just a quick shot from people
on the ground. Here's here's what'sgoing on in America. One of the
(01:04:06):
secondary stuff is going on, andall of a sudden, Brie Larkson's back
on Earth. What the heck? And then we'll see you in November.
We'll see in November, baby.Um but Kevin, main thing I'm interested
in Maria hill ak Kolbe Smolders isadvertised for the Marvelous movie. How do
you think they're gonna put Maria inthe Marvelous movie? And we'll be just
(01:04:28):
she's dead. It might just bethat, maybe maybe back a recording of
her earlier and then Nick Fury kindof stilly crying about it and then like
poat is here when um um ummiss Marvel coming around? Uh I'm fine,
No, sorry, just watching herfuneral, No big deals something like
that. Or she maybe she's ascuall. He didn't realize it. Yeah,
maybe maybe he forces a squall tobe her. I don't know,
(01:04:50):
like it could be a whole othersideline question that will we actually see Vara
pop up in the Marvels or itwill be like, oh, my wife
is somewhere in they're working off screen. They kind of already got her off
that because they say in that lastscene, I can't be yearning forever.
I got to do another thing.Oh she'd be back on Earth exactly,
so already got out of that trap. I think the interesting thing is Andy
(01:05:13):
Jogon put it best, is Iwish Marvel wasn't so hush hush with their
scripts amongst other projects wand Division,Multiverse Madness kind of key contributors of that.
Um. I think this might bethe same thing of like we all
knew Kolbe Smolders was cast in TheMarvels before Secret Invasion even came out with
its first episode, and this waslike three months ago. And then for
(01:05:33):
her to spoil I mean you've watchedthe show by now her to die in
the first episode, like wait, but now throughout the whole season, like
but is cap is the Marvel's aprequel? Is it after this? And
then this ending with okay, somaybe the Marvels is after this, but
she's supposed to be in it still, and I hope it's not. It's
not like um the beginning of Marvel'sDAGs a Shield. I thought it was
(01:05:59):
the only level nine ten. ButKevin, any other predictions or anything before
we get into adding it to MCUand review UM. I do still think
if they wanted to, and ifmaybe the plans are not, there could
be a secret Invasion season two withbasically robes of random human um uh Militia's
(01:06:24):
hunting what they think are scrolls, and maybe somebody rides up to fight them.
I mean, we kind of sawthat with with with the Guy is
ending. Do you think that islike Nick Ferry's passing the torch? Really?
Next season if they do one isSonia and Gaya, it could be.
It could be. Maybe maybe it'snot called sec Invasion, maybe it's
called like I don't know, secretum a vengeance. I don't know,
(01:06:45):
but I think they still could beone because I also, you don't cast
a Malia clock for text episodes andthen say okay, but well actually false,
Kevin. You do cast me aclerk for one project and then she
just goes into the ethos and younever see her again. I'll I'm talking
solo a Star Wars story. It'shappened before I made it. The first
thing I talked about this show,Kira and Gaya so cold. Yeah,
(01:07:11):
maybe. Yeah. She showed upin one comic with Boba Fett and that's
it. I don't Kira, I'mKira. That's it. That's the little
thing I'm worried about. But you'reright if they do a second season,
that's where they could go. Ifthey do a second season, and then
honestly, wait, I think aboutit. Her and um British Texas Olivia
Coleman. You don't like you don'tken't Olivia Coleman? Six episodes? If
(01:07:32):
you said yes to one thing? So yes, exactly, Yeah, you're
rightly if she was great, bestshe was? Yeah, highlight of the
show. Well, let's get oninto it, buddy. It's time for
MCU in review to hit the rankingsas we uh do what there you go?
(01:07:56):
Uh exactly. So this is ourMarvel rankings according to the show.
In case you haven't listened in awhile, we did re rank them Memorial
Day Weekend. This is the officialone according to US as of twenty twenty
three. And I'm gonna read thetop ten, and then just pretty much
say where the shows are. Ithink that'll help us out for this.
So number one, Endgame two,Infinity War, No Way Home, Civil
(01:08:19):
War, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Guardians one thor Ragnarok The Avengers at
number ten. Our most recent editionwas Guardians the Galaxy Volume three, followed
up by Black Panther, Waconda Forever. Here's where the shows are. At
number fifteen is Wanda Vision, Thenthere's Loki. Number nineteen. After that
(01:08:39):
is Falcon and Winter Soldier, followedby Miss Marvel at twenty. Then you
have Hawkeye twenty three, Moon Nightat twenty four, Werewolf by Night will
include it for this one at twentyfive, she Hulk at twenty seven,
and then Guardians Holiday Special thirty two, What If at thirty three? Oh
(01:09:00):
yeah, A long list? Now, man, this is crazy number of
products you looked at. This isI'm unbelievable. So, Kevin, where
would you like to start the rankingsat? For Secret Invasion? I can
be I could agree with anything that'seither twenty three or twenty four, twenty
(01:09:21):
three or twenty four hours. SoI'm gonna scooche this up just so I
can see it Okay, do dodo do do do do? All right?
So right now you have it positionedaround Hawkeye and or Moonnight. Yes,
either above Hawkeye or between Hawkeye andMoonnight. Okay, all right,
I can see that. Now here'sthe thing between Hawkeye and Moonnight. I
(01:09:45):
think I enjoyed Moonight more mainly becauseOscar Isaac I think was a highlight of
that show. Say what you willabout the Hippo So four and five were
amazing. Episodes six was good, little bit of garbage, but let's face
it, even this show can't beatthe episode six. Curse for the Marvel
shows. I feel like this,as far as we know, game changing
(01:10:13):
wise, because we don't know howthey're going to incorporate Moonnight and the MCU.
We already know Hawkeyes setting up allthe darede oble stuff. I'd put
it. I think you're right belowHawkeye above Moonnight, just because of not
necessarily this show sets up Nick Fury, because it really goes back to where
he was at the beginning of theshow. But the world of the MCU
is changed. Hopefully we'll find outthe Marvels that has changed, and not
(01:10:39):
that it isn't really because you know, with this change and stuff they's teed
up in episode six, Like yousaid, it does make sense for the
Thunderbolts to be different, give usa little more clue on that. And
it also feels like, you know, Brave New World makes more sense of
Captain America trying to be a symbolfor freedom going up against a fearmongering president.
(01:11:00):
And like I said earlier, Ithink episodes one through Fiveace Invision were
very very a very good, cohesivestory, and I just don't think it
was wrapped up greatly. It waswrapped up, and it makes sense.
It just wasn't what's it wasn't great? Um, So that's that's why I
say it's because Hawkeye was overall wasn'tjust like it wasn't it was very very
(01:11:27):
It's just very good. Was great, It wasn't bad. It's just very
good. And Haley time feels amazing. Um. But the episode six,
it's what kind of what stands outfor me. Whereas even though it wasn't
great, it still kind of wasmore cohesive, whereas Moon Night took this
hard left and to mental health andwas like, no, what, let's
have an allegant to fight a skull? Yeah, and it was like okay,
(01:11:47):
like, oh this episode really twokai Juice. That's it. Yeah,
this is two kai Juice and butno, no, no Gypsy Danger
to help him out. Moon Nightwas gyppy, were all Gypsy Danger on
the end. So here's your rankingas of right now. Everything twenty and
up the same Miss Marvel at numbertwenty Falconer Soldier in nineteen. Then he
(01:12:10):
got Doctor Strange at twenty one,Multiverse and Madness at twenty two, which
is one part of our re rankings. We did Hawkeye at twenty three,
Secret Invasion at twenty four, MoonNight twenty five, Werewolf by Night,
twenty six, Ant Man, SheHulk, Attorney at Law, Black Widow,
and number thirty for the list becauseeverything else you kind of know where
it's at is aunt Man, QuantumMania. I will say I will give
(01:12:31):
Marvel kudos for a six episode showup TV that showed little to no superpowers
until the very end where he showedall the superpowers. It was it was
a hint after what's she called it? God d Extremis and then another one
at the guy came back to life, and then I'll court the last episode,
what was the superhero fight? Yes, but other than that, it
(01:12:51):
was just spy stuff. It wasreally good. Yeah, but let us
know where you would rank it.Do you think it should be higher,
it should be lower, or whereit should be? D must infinite underscore
pods on Instagram or the Twitter. The next time we'll be doing MCU in
review will be in November. Butthe next time we'll be doing a ranking
(01:13:12):
review will be Blue Beetle in abouttwo weeks from now, as we add
it the penultimate addition to dc EUin Review. Because then you got Aquaman,
which who the hell knows when thatmovie's coming out. It's also maybe
pushed until next year. Oh,that one's definitely gonna be pushed till next
year. The reason why I sayTom push it not because it's bad,
It's because they don't have anything elsereleased next year. Then he's something pushed
(01:13:35):
Dune. I'd rather watch Dune nextyear. Let me do. Let me
just watch Aquaman. Get her outof the way. This year's band real
quick. Let's just sit down outhere. We're done. I can get
ready for Superman eventually, you know, one day. But we will be
back on Monday with Teenage Deterrets TurtlePower. Uh So, we'll be back
(01:14:06):
talking about teenager and Ninja Turtles. But keV, you can follow us,
like we said, a score podshot and the yin five dot com slash
Crisis crew keep a lot to watchingus and sharing your comments at infinite underscore
pods just put that after Twitch dottv or YouTube dot com and went backwards.
But you know what, it worksthe same, you know, And
how are your friends to follow uson Twitch and just have it on in
(01:14:29):
the background when why that works exactly? You know we'll get him in the
Crisis crew just right, you knowwe will all at first to be like
I don't know. Then I'm like, well, I like lessening him in
the background, and then all ofa sudden like well I paid attention to
them in the background. Then Ionly I stop everything I'm doing to watch
them. They are my favorite guysnow, they are my friends. As
the famous One Republic song goes stopbit step, I had that CD in
(01:14:51):
my car and Kevin Kevin listens toit every time every day. One Republic
is one of the most underrated bandsof all time. I don't care anybody
sense You're right, it's too lateto apologize. I would say, oh,
it's too late. We'll be backon Monday. Have a great weekend.
As always, my name is Hoodieand I'm Kevin, and you officially
(01:15:14):
listen to this scrolling episode of Whatcat Cricis on Infinite Pod even when you
think we're out.
