Welcome back to the nerty news andeats to know throughout the week. On
Nightheartrady went by cast services round theworld. Because my nam's Ada and I'm
Kevin, and you're officially listening tothis blue a fide episode of what keV
Crisis on Infinite Podka Sah, Oh, I'm tired. I feel like there's

(00:33):
a burp or a cough coming upright now and I can't stifle it at
all. I'm like it's coming by. I just gotta get all the words
I can in before it comes out. Maybe it's both, Oh keburb A
boff like bof Boffa's Benny Buffin's Dolly, don't bring us this information? Oh
good old mon Mathma. But youknow what's gonna be a good time today

(00:56):
today's podcast because we, like wesaid and in the title, we're talking
about Blue Beetle because we've both seenit. We are now free of our
embargo, so we can talk allwe want about it. He broke free,
breaking free all Zach Affron and VanessaHudgins breaking the wall down. Oh
Kevin, Well hold that thought.I got that. We're also gonna talk

(01:18):
about summer box office so far I'mgonna talk about there's a Godzilla series and
so much more. But Kevin, speaking of what I just said, were
you the generation that was a littletoo old for high school musical? Because
I was like, just right,I feel like you might have been too
old. Yeah, I was like, what is this stupidness? Kids singing
in school? He need to getpunched in the face. They didn't get

(01:38):
a punch in the face. They'reon the basketball team. Drill mgno sense.
Like I was borderline a golf kid. I didn't dress like it.
I mean, so you were livingit up in hot topic and uh sensers.
I like, I wanted to dresslike that, but I knew my
father wouldn't let that flies. Ididn't press it. But Kevin was that
kid who dressed who dressed separately outsideof his house and he's like, oh,

(02:00):
I put my my normal clothes onnow to go inside. Down.
I didn't wear things, gloves alot. Now Is this the code or
was this just because it was coldout? I thought they look cool,
personal studded belts. You know.I'm sorry. Chet apparently is emo goth.
Sorry, same thing. It's okay. They had a whole South Park

(02:22):
episode of the Emo kids versus theGoth kids. And I was like,
I still don't know the difference. You know. It's kind of like saying
I don't know light mustard or heavymustard, Chick fil A sauce versus honey
mustard. You're like, I don'tknow what the difference is. This one's
just got a Chick fil A onit. Really, they're both yellow,
and they both taste similar, notthe same, but very similar. Very

(02:45):
kind of like Cherry Coke and DoctorPepper. No, cherry Cooke hits Doctor
Pepper. Got me different moods forthose drinks. That's jet, that's a
different thing. I feel like,if I'm blind full of juice, I'm
giving you a Cherry Cooke Doctor Pepper. You okay, Oh, I would
know what the cherry Coke was.I would know what the Cherry Cooke was.
This body built on cherry Coke,so back in the day, this
is body by Cherry Coke over mychildhood in early teens. But that exists,

(03:08):
oh my god, oh for sureeasily. And it's probably like the
old school Cherry Coke logo, whereaslike graffiti a little bit too. But
I wanted to any chair actually usingCherry Cooke. It's all synthetic. You
know, I go to the touchscreen machine makes what you want. I
know it's not real cherry. Oh, that's a fun machine. The use.

(03:28):
It's a good time. But youknow what else is a good time.
I was talking about what we justsaid, but going to Hot nine
five dot com slash crisis crew, how to dig us out of that?
We were gonna go down a deephole if I didn't. We're not going
to food. But you can seeeverything we're talking about so much more at
iffing it. Underscore pods on theInstagram or the Twitter or Kevin Where can

(03:52):
they watch us record the podcast liveor on demand of their own accord You
watch us on demand at YouTube dotcom. Touch to score pods which one
is live? In the chat ontwitch dot tv. You s actually underscore
pods and call me a black speamerlike J. P. Perry just did.
We're calling Dr Pepper Cherry Coke inthe same thing. Apparent Dr Pepper's
a goat. That's the same thing. Now we're gonna say it's bad.

(04:13):
So we'll say this out of anycoke beverage, and we'll say before you
know, zero cokes and diet cokesare proven that you know they're bad for
you can give you cancer. Whatwas your go to soda of choice?
Honestly, and it's funny, butwe always argue about this, me and
my cousin's like, we don't knowwhen it became the black soda, but
Sprite it's always a go to sodasa good time and it helps. It

(04:33):
helps a good tummy. You know, if you got rumby Tumbly, you're
good to go. And there's alwayslike the I don't know if it's true
enough that life so it is betteruse from dark soda, But I don't
know if that's true or not.I mean probably just a myth by light
soda companies, it gets you tobuy more, Like look at it.
If you look at the nutrition fact, they both have like one hundred and
eighteen percent of you dealing with asugar By the way, it's bad.

(04:54):
This one is tinted and one isnot for me. I would probably go
with normal coke, just cherry coke. I know it is great, but
I think it's because I think there'sa different topic. I think also coke
flavored slurpy or icy is the goatlike you gotta go with that every time,
like you're never wronged by that.I was a kid, and I'm

(05:16):
sure there will be studies based onthey will one study on my Melane's generation.
In about twenty years we used tokill search time volt I think was
another one too in that era aswell. Volt Volte had it like a
little bit more of a harsher taste. It's like it's mound dew it just
I put one griddi in an extraor took it out, is what it

(05:38):
was like. They were both green, but Serge used to like kind of
glow JA. So here's the thingwe have. Apparently we have an expert
actually in the chat, JB.Perry as a Pepsi salesman. The light
soda v. Dark soda debate iscomplete, BS, so go, we
know awesome, Here we go.Thank you the more you know. And
that's why we have these random talkingthough before we actually get in the show.

(06:00):
But we always started the podcast properlywith what you're doing. We talked
about things we're watching, things beenplaying, lives we've been living. And
because it is a Thursday, YEPbook gets to go first, and it's
technically a chewy because it's for theboth of us. We're going to WrestleMania
next year. I'll have to signhim here, but I have to built

(06:23):
some points. Yeah, dang,I left my work. Dang, I
knew I forgot something at work. But yeah, So Kevin, myself,
brother John in turn John, misterEric V and then the rest of my
groom's in will be going to WrestleManiaExcel perfect for us big boys. WrestleMania
forty next year. Yeah, there'sgonna be a lot of fun. I

(06:46):
went to WrestleMania in twenty sixteen, actually went to WrestleMania the year we started
this podcast. We haven't started toget Kevin did a lot of stuff by
himself when we started this podcast, and I was like, well, we're
not on that level yet, SoKevin is gonna go by himself. Yeah,
yeah, suicide Squad. It wasweird too because I flew out of
DCAG and I don't I haven't flownout there before since It is just weird

(07:10):
having to having an airport in themiddle of the city. Welcome to DCA,
baby, But we're going both nights, got that two day combo in
Philly. We will be staying atAirbnb and figuring that out, and I'm
excited. We are gonna We're gonnalive it up. It's gonna be April
in Philly. Gotta wear pants. This event, oh certainly had five games

(07:33):
sugar in it. Kevin has alreadygottenstracted already. Sorry, but yeah,
April and Philly, April in midAtlantic. Because a toss up, it
could find out what it is.It could be springtime already. It could
be rainy, we'd come off abizzard. We don't know, but I'm
excited. Hopefully we can see oneCody Rhodes finish, complete the story.

(07:56):
Hopefully that's the thing. If not, then it's like, okay, well
that's a k l A night.Yeah maybe too. Yeah. What we
need from you, Crisis crew listenersis what should Hoodie's Crew cosplay as I've
suggested a few things. Yes,I suggested that, say, for me,
everybody else get bald caps and weall just like Stone Cold Steve Aoston.

(08:16):
I mean you also, pretty man, look like stone Cold Steve Auston
right now, so I don't know. I've also suggested HWO shirts and we
all do individual order. So wejust gotta figure out how to get the
nWo logo, remove the eight theend or turn the end into an H.
So just turn that middle slant.Dude, We're good. I've also

(08:39):
just had this idea. Right nowwe can go with right to censor so
we get some cut off white Nah, I don't want to dress up like
and uh yeah, we need somerecent ideas shooting to us, adding some
score pots on all all the socialstuff. We gotta do something. It's
a big deal. It's exciting.Obviously, we'll be talking more as we
actually get closer. But we havetickets brought through the pre sale, and

(09:01):
if you are trying to get tickets, buy them now because the general is
on sale. He said, thispodcast recording happens tomorrow, and that's probably
gonna be hell based on how thepresale has been gone. Yeah, ticket
Master sucks. Should be illegal.Man. That ticket feeds baby was pretty
much a third of everyone's cost ofgoing. I mean, what what what

(09:22):
what does the feat I'm gonna officethe whole fable? What does the feet
really cover? I'm doing all thework. Ticketmaster getting money the venue,
then w W getting the fee offof it, even though you're paying to
go to their event. And thenyou know there's processing fee. I'm like,
I'll just buy a physical ticket,but I can't buy a physical ticket
anywhere. Half of all online trafficis manchant monitored by AI now, so

(09:43):
it can't be interesting having to dothe pay People refused to believe that answering
bots still think bots got smarter. They know how to do keywords now.
Uh. And then on top ofthat, just my one other thing,
got to go see Strays with misterEric V earlier this week. It's the
dog rated R movie. It's prettygood. I know it's been getting really

(10:03):
bad review scores, but I thinkit's because critics are like st like not
telling me a story. It's ashut off your mind, have a have
a dumb fun time with your friendswatching dogs make funny jokes movie. So
say, would you? Will probablystream it when it comes. I think
it's coming to Peacock most likely inthe near future. That movie needed that

(10:24):
cast going from talk show to talkshow talking about it. It really did,
I think because maybe once thought atrailer on a few months ago,
you knew what it was. Yeah, but when when you saw Jamie Fox
and Will Ferrell on, I don'tknow, Colon O'Brian's podcast talking about it.
It got you more into the seeingthe movie, and it really needed
that. I think the other thingis like to this movie would have been
is perfect to do a dog screening, but I think in this area they

(10:48):
can't do them because just because thetheaters. But like, if your area
is more pet friendly city or something, see if there's a dog screening,
that'd be really dope for you andyour pet. At same time, usually
with these types of movies is whenyou would see like like Kevin said,
the actor is doing stuff a lotof philanthropy of like maybe like donating a
lot of money in the shelter,is doing you know, waiving the pet
fees and all that. They can'tdo that though, because then it's technically

(11:11):
promoting the movie. So it's asucky thing about it. Yeah, so
I brought up maybe I talk aboutthis at some point in your future.
I do kind of think that thestrikers want to kill these smaller movies.
Yeah, like this is proof ofthis. One's proof of that for sure.
Yeah, and again it puts morestock into the strikers, I guess

(11:33):
strike because you need actors and writersto promote movies but Kevin, that's what
I've been doing. What's you've beendoing good, sir? Besides seeing Blue
Beetle with your boy? Apparently Iam shopping for Serge on Amazon. All
right, Well that's what Kevin topof Kevin's mind right now, Serge Cola.
Yesterday, I finally finished a showcasemode on w W two K twenty

(11:56):
three, and it was pretty fun. It was just beat up John Cena,
like literally that it was a wholeangle for a while with the BOC
and eighties tiles and John Cena. That was the whole thing's beat up John
Cena. I will say he's annoying. There were times where like the counter
icon wouldn't come up. I'm likewhy why why? Yeah, I think
that like over the showcase mode, that's something you just put on easy,

(12:18):
just like I'm here for to relivethe footage and stuff. I'm not here
to like have a difficult time notbeating you know, John Cena with RVD
or something. I only reason Ileft it on a normal because I thought
if I didn't leave it on anormal I wouldn't have got all the unlockables
basically, but apparently I was wrong. We're not in that air anymore.
Thank God put it on easier storymode, get all them achievements. But

(12:39):
I did end up winning the fatalfour way match between him stone Cold.
Oh yeah, you have to.If you want to lock invisible Sena in
the game, you have to.Yeah, that that mess was annoying too,
that I used brock lessener. Iwas like, come on, man,
how many if I was gonna dothis, stay down, damn you.
Other than that, I haven't reallybe doing anything else. Let's just

(13:00):
say probably beatle. I'm dealing witha toothache again. It's fun. I'm
looking for a sedation dentistry because theboy has massive, massive dental anxiety.
Last time I went to the dentists, I was like in my twenties and
I had to be strapped down.I was just like that unruly believe.

(13:22):
Yeah, sorry, you have toleave, Like sorry, I'm sorry.
I'm trying to I can't help it. And I'm also probably going to try
to see Tim and T this weekend. Good point. You should as should
you listening right now? Hashtag courgisgrew because I need zero help to keep
going. Yeah, it's only made. We're talking about this in a minute.

(13:43):
It's only made like a seventy milliondollars about Yes, it's not good.
Yeah, but we'll get into thatbecause now it is time for the
news. No news. So firstthanks, First, thanks for some Arilla.
I just need to ran at Lucasfilmright now. We are we are

(14:03):
putting aside all the fun emotions rightnow and it's gonna be serious talk because
Lucas Film, and mind you,I'm gonna give you a heads up.
This is gonna be a moment youknow where we curse on the podcast,
Lucas Film, How could you fuckup so bad on the fifteenth anniversary?

(14:26):
I don't even remember if it wasthe fifteenth anniversary, the anniversary of the
Clone Wars. You go honor itby closing the studio that made the Clone
Wars Idiots. I'm a Disney defender. I mean, I think that's pretty

(14:46):
clear. But some of the moviesthat made Lady Man's like, what are
you guys? So if you didn'tknow the studio that made Star Wars,
the Clone Wars the movie, eventuallyyou know the first couple of seasons of
the show, and it's led topretty much you know what the Clone Wars
style of animation is we could eventell when we were watching Star Wars visions
of like, oh, they probablyworked with the Singapore studio is Industrial Light

(15:09):
and Film. It's Lucasfilm Singapore essentiallyis the studio. Pretty much that studio
has been banging it out since twothousand and six. Two thousand said,
whenever the Clone Wars truly started, and you know, gave us the Clone
Wars, gave us Star Wars Rebelhelps with Star Wars Rebels, gave us
the bad Batch. Has now givenus tales of the Jedi. Yeah,
Lucasfilm said, yeah, thanks, but we're all good. And so now

(15:33):
three hundred people out of the jobbecause they thought it makes sense to you
know, bringing in the house. But fam, they're the ones that we're
winning for Star Wars, So whythe hell did you do that? I
mean, I feel like this isthis is kind of like those games heels
like cold shut Down, shut downwhen air was worn by launch of game
studios. But it's like, whythey were doing good work. What was

(15:56):
the point of closing them down becauseyou just didn't want to spend any money.
Yeah, and now your game sucksso interestingly enough, trying to think
that like what the actual name is, but I think essentially was just like
Lucasfilm Singapore. Essentially. It sucksbecause like obviously they did clarify Bad Batch
season three, Younger Tales of theJedi season two, those are still happening,

(16:18):
but it's just weird to go,like, yeah, the people that
made that the other're gone, andlike you said, a studio absorbs them,
really get everything in house. Cool, but fam like that's your bread
and butter right now, especially withAhsoka coming out in two weeks. People
watching it not even two weeks allweek now, you know, like literally
that that was going to get peopleinto it, and now that you have,

(16:41):
you have this surrounding that it's justit's not a good look. And
like I said, I'm a dizzydefender, but lately I've just been like,
y'all just keep make it wrong.Decision you have to. Oh so
I won't stay wrong because I'm nota business, but weird decisions have to
weird decisions like what, what, why? And the weird thing is is
like then you then you don't knowwhat's when the Snooze article first happened,

(17:02):
this is mighty like Tuesday or whatever, it's like, oh, but aren't
they doing bad Batch in Tales ofJedi. You have to wait till someone
from the studio that's still making thebad Batch to tweet out, yeah,
we're still working on it, justthat studio is closed. It's like,
okay, come on, like that'sthe stupid Lucas film. Haven't prepared and
tell me in the details word butwho's making bad Batch and stuff like that.
You know, as much as Ihave defended the New Quols, as

(17:27):
much as I have defended Mandol seasonthree, it just looks like more and
more that they don't know what todo with Star Wars. Yeah, it's
a bad movie company. It's interesting. I don't like, I don't want
to. I'm not blaming someone specific, but it's just like I think for
Star Wars fans, and that's partof you listening Kevin and I, it's

(17:47):
always one step forward, two stepsback with Star Wars. Marvel is kind
of five steps forward two steps back, So you're still moving three steps ahead
of the game most of the time. Mind you, whatever it will happened
this year, if everything, butevery time it's like, all right,
we had Force Awakens. Great, now here's the Last Jedi, which no
divisive, but let's for the largeprecipice of everybody pushed everything back on Star

(18:10):
Wars and then Ride the Skywalker, then got Mando great, then okay,
Mando season two, good, Bookof Bubba fet Canoby good and or really
good Mando season three, and thenbad Batch for the most part, all
right, Young Tales of the Jedi, good, Colone Wars final season great.

(18:32):
It's just all over the place, and so it doesn't have a good
It's kind of what we talked about, how I with Marvel movies when you
and even Pixar back in the dayand now it's not really as trusted.
When you had those come up,you knew you were in for a good
time. Lucasfilm hasn't had that fora while. You're kind of like,
cool, this could be good orthis could be bad. I don't know.
They pair to say it made agood good point on Twist at TV
Secchi on the score pods, theywere clone Wars literally redeemed the prequels.

(18:57):
Yeah, Like there's there's a aspectof Star Wars fan whose first step into
the world was the prequels, andthey love the prequels, but There was
also another subspect of Star Wars fanwho grew up with they're not as older
as like the kids that were arounddoing the Regul sequel, but that's still
what it was their first batch ofmovies. Who hated Who hated the prequels,

(19:18):
then watched Colone Wars. It waslike, no, what prequels actually
aren't half bad? That's me Like, I didn't I didn't mind. I
didn't mind the Fantom Menace. Ijust didn't really like Jake Lloyd's interpretation of
Anakin Skywalk. I hated Attack ofthe Clones. I hated it. I
still don't like it. It's onlygood for that, like the last forty
five minutes. But then I loveMene of the Sith and Revenge of the

(19:40):
Sith. I love even more becauseof the Clone War. Yeah, you
see hate, I hated Christian. You see Anakin and Ahsoka and their journey.
You see Anakin and oh one oftheir journey. Then you you're done
if you watch it all the waythrough. Yeah, then you watch Clone
Wars and Rente of the Sith andit's like it breaks your heart, or
if you do do that super cutwhere you watch like the last episodes of
Clone Wars in tied in with Revengeof the Fifth. You're in for a

(20:03):
journey baby right there with the lastfour you know, like now when why
hope people set the people suck.I'll argue with them like I'm not really
arguable. I'm like, no,no, you're wrong doing that. And
I think that's the thing is thatthe Prequels isn't like you get the referring
to the movies, but that eraof stuff isn't as sucky as it used
to be because of Clone Wars andRebels. I know, is the middle

(20:25):
period now and then we're supposed toget the Acolyte which leads into that.
But it's like that's been great, but like right now they're doing the same
thing for you know, the NewQuels we like to call it, and
we're just we're here for the courseand we're like, come on, get
it right day, Filoni, yougottah Soka, We're good, Dave,
Floni. You have the Mando moviethat's coming out eventually, Like, keep

(20:47):
going the course, Dave. Idon't know, it's interesting. It is
interesting just to see like with likeI will say it, the Kevin five
year roll, which is Kathleen Kennedy. It's kind of I feel like more
net negative towards Kathleen Kennedy then itis towards Kevin Figy. I know it's
multiple other factors with that, butit's just interesting to like look at that
in like sort of a business wayand then fandom way at the same time.

(21:11):
Yeah, I'm hoping maybe this isa move at the end of the
day that means they're trying to bringeverything on under the same roof. So
and television, I mean film andanimation and TV work all in the same
area and not one people personally, one person over there. But the optics
don't look good because I mean CloneWars. Clone Wars is like a hidden
gem. It really is like CloneWars and Star Wars anime before Star Wars

(21:33):
anime was created with both visions. You know, we were watching Dragon Ball
z I where everyone else was,but Kevin always switched to more positive news.
I guess this counts is more positivenews. We're gonna look at the
summer box office so far in twentytwenty three. Some would say at the
outset it was very but now thanksto the Barbie movie, it is not

(21:56):
that. I just wanted to hitit and just reset. But pretty much
we know Barbie dominated the summer boxoffice. But we're gonna tell you how
much it's dominated because these are themovies that have We'll go as as much
as we want with movies of thathave dominated the summer, starting off with
Barbie that as of right now hasmade over five hundred and thirty seven million,

(22:22):
three hundred and ninety thousand dollars.I think this is the worldwide box
office. That's domestics, okay, domestic box office. Yeah, yeah,
it's really good. This is thiswill be I think about the end of
the weekend, the largest gross highestgrossing movie of all time supposed to pass
Definitely HODDLDS Part two this weekend.Actually it passed. It wasn't Dark Night

(22:45):
the number one. I thought DarkKnight was number one domestically. Okay,
it passed Dark Nights yesterday. Iknow that. Yeah, I mean houses
number one internationally worldwide basically, Well, mind you, they are releasing both
rereleasing both definitely Hollows movies in September. So if you want to get your
Harry Potter on, go enjoy that. But I don't know if you want

(23:06):
to just watch on HBO Max don'tsupport to take care of I take that
back, Kevin. Number two wasso far domestically at the box office this
summer into the Spider Verse that leftus all wanting more across the Spider Verse
that came back. Also, Ithink you retweeted this. If you're into

(23:27):
wrestling, there's a great side byside picture of evil Miles. We get
evil Miles and good Miles are Miles. And then ju So and Jimmy was
so. I was like, ohmy gosh, did they know they were
doing it? They both seen themovie before they picked their outfits because it

(23:48):
works, and I was just like, they are nerds. There's something they
could could have done actually and itwouldn't make sense. Uh. Number three
so far for box office domestically gotGuardians three with three hundred and fifty eight
million. It is interesting. I'mjust comparing this in a international worldwide box
office because I think Oppenheimer is likemade the top list and like the top

(24:11):
three instead that Oppenheimer is doing wellinternationally because you really is more of like
it's not really like an American patriotmovie, but it's very you know,
American perspective of everything movie. Itshowed the world we could do and then
inside it basically what I'm sorry,I don't want to get into history stuff,
but it was scary. But Kevinnumber, Kevin number four domestically,

(24:34):
you saw it. I think yousaid you saw it twice right now,
I was seen a little Oh,I thought you saw it with Lavalia,
she's seen it three times. Okay, And as of September comes out September
Labor Day weekend. I know,I think it is what it is.
Yeah, it's going to be inmy TV twenty four seven. Yeah,
I'm not looking forward to it actually, but I'll I want that made two

(24:57):
hundred ninety seven million. Then Oppenheimerwas at number five to seventy. That'll
probably pass a Little Mermaid at theofficial end of the summer. Then you
got Sound of Freedom, which we'venot really talked about on this podcast for
a good reason because it's weird,a weird, a weird phenomenon of a

(25:18):
movie. Yeah, the producer ofthe film idiot and then Yeah, Sketchy
and then Kevin told me before westarted the podcast that if you wanted to
go see the movie, you coulddo what so you can you can basically
give tickets to people that weren't goingto go see the movie, and they
count that as box office revenue, which is bullcrapy. So that's a Sound

(25:44):
of Freedom. And then you gotIndiana Jones Dial of Destiny, which that
and Mission Impossible. Dead Reckoning Partone came out. That was number eight.
They both lost one hundred million dollarsat the box office. And I
think it's just because we've had somany movies come out. Obviously, Indiana
Joe came out first the week beforefourth of July. Then you got Mission
Impossible, and I think that's reallyjust so many movies came out in June

(26:07):
that the late goers the ghost seeevery other movie. We're like, we
don't have time. And then BarbieBarbenheimer took over, We'll think what Mission
Impossible? And I'm not I'm nota big Tom Cruise fan, but at
the same time, I think theythey showed that stunt way too much in
Yeah Boy. It was the firstIt was pretty much the first trailer essentially,
we'll see you at the movies andthen he flies off with the motorcycle.

(26:30):
So they should have just not shownthat until the movie. I feel
like, yeah, maybe maybe they'llthey'll learn for part two whenever that may
come out. What Tom Cruis isseventy is that jumping off? I don't
know, he's free climbing on arock and jumping off. Number nine you
have Transformers Rides of the Beasts.Like we said, same effect of just
came out during a busy, busyJune. Number ten. Actually this is

(26:53):
interesting, is uh. Elemental camein number ten, which we talked about
Gating wasn't doing so hot the boxoffice, but overall it's kind of like
had this good comeback of like peoplenot so much talking about it, but
it's kind of your kid field trips, taking your kids to go see it,
to do something in this summer peoplehave been doing it. Yeah,
that's interesting And I feel like ifbecause the next movie on this list,

(27:17):
that's two movies on this list areFast X in the Flash. And if
I ask you hoodie or you crisislistener, if I told you in February
the Elemental was going to make morethan Fast X in the Flash, would
you believe me? I would not. I would honestly be like, oh,
Fast X will make money just becauseinternationally, and it did not mind

(27:37):
you not to say that it didn't, but compared to other fast movies,
no, it did not and didnot. The budget was something stupid million
dollars. I don't know why itcost so much money. That's the only
thing we can get into one day. And why didn't he was costing so
much money? And then just goingthrough the top fifteen just to get there,
we got insidious the red Door, which kind of came and went.

(27:57):
I think once again busy. I'mJuly seventh, same time, you know,
fourth July weekend and Jones all thatnumber fourteen. Interestingly enough teenage routing
Ninja Turtles. People saying it didn'tdo so how the box office. But
hey, one weekend and it's alreadynumber fourteen for the summer box office.
That's something at least. But that'sa win. I mean, I think

(28:18):
this is one of them. Thisis one of those movies. Is gonna
have a lot of legs on onestreaming. I think, like once against
the streaming kids are gonna watch itnon stop. Uh And then number fifteen
this summer so far, the superMario Bros. Movie. And you can
thank your secondhand cinemas where they playit right before it goes to DVD ivious.
See it's made a butt ton ofmoney just the summer alone. It's

(28:42):
made seventy four million dollars domestically. So and I think digital rentals and downloads
count that too. Before it wasactually officials think it counts. And then
I'm just gonna go to the verybottomless list movies that made money this summer.
We're gonna go Brotherhood of the Wolf. I don't know what this is.

(29:03):
It's a twenty twenty three release.This could be a bad movie we're
promoting right now, but it madetwo hundred and seventy five dollars this summer.
So enjoy that as you. Foryou, guys, how much you
to cost someone up? Unless you'reseventy four. He did a good job.
But unless there's something weird with yourmovie than dad for you, you
don't deserve the money. But hey, hey, he made money. At
least that's the fact of it.In the eighteenth century, friends the Chevalier

(29:26):
de Fronsac and his Native American friendManny, I've sent to the Cavotian province
that the kings but has to investigate. This is probably a foreign movie.
Yeah, anyway, that's your summerbox office so far, the top fifteen
in the bottom movie so far.I don't know. Pay a dollar go
watch a movie and make it thebottom one, just because where can you

(29:48):
watch this that actually made about y'alltold pictures? Yep, I don't know.
I don't know, man, that'sthe message. It's somewhere in the
US. Someone's playing it. Who'sin this Mark the Castle's I'm going down
a really Kevin, you might godown a bad, bad hole. But
something we don't want to talk aboutthat is bad. Technically it's bad guys.
We could say at least are badladies? Is make sure I got

(30:11):
the name of this right. AgathaHarkness Covin of Chaos the show, because
not how's the Harkness or Agatha allalong? They have officially cast sa Zamata
as Jennifer Cale, which is prettycool because she's in more notable Marvel hero
or villain or character. Yeah.I saw that name. I was like,
I know that name. It's oneof those things where I've seen her

(30:33):
in a lot of things but neverknew it is probably your main claim to
fame with her, Yeah, exactly. I'm still confused about this show.
What it's called one and two. What's about what's called when we'll see it?
There's another thing and also if it'sneeded. Yeah, the interesting thing
is like this casting didn't happen duringthe strike. It's just some reason.

(30:56):
Mashable shared that an interview with Sisaabout Agatha Covin of Chaos that she'd be
making her MC debut. Is JenniferCale in the show, Katherine Han's returning.
We also know the Aubrey Plaza ismaking an appearance, and who else
did She's a villain in the moviesupposedly Supposedly we'll find out. And then

(31:18):
also we got Patty Lapon is goingto be a Sicilian witch and that Joe
Locke will be an older version ofWanda son Wiccan. We did not see
in Wan Division. So it's interesting, like, like you said, is
this a prequel? Is this after? Is it going to end up being
an after wand Division? The otherthing is apparently Elizabeth, Yeah, Elizabeth

(31:41):
Olsen should be making a cameo inthe show. But is that like,
oh, she's just she did thewand Division scene that was it, or
she actually gonna have something substantial. It will be like File like quite Unhole
file footage is used from another movieO show, Yeah she was in it,
Cameo accounts. And then on topof that, just talking about new
shows before we get into some blueBeal action for you, is that Apple

(32:05):
TV Apparently it's going to be thenew home for the monster Verse, because
they just announced that Godzilla is gettinga spinoff series called Monarch Legacy of the
Monsters, pretty much announced and unveiledthis morning as of this podcast recording,
and it's gonna start Kurt Russell andWhyatt Russell, John Walker himself from from

(32:29):
Falcon and the word soldier. That'skind of cool. Let me tell you.
I don't know if you've perused Apple'sTV's offerings. They have a lot
of good stuff on that. I'mwaiting for more and I to start After
Party season two and I got Wegot to watch the Seth Rogan show as
well. That was pretty good. Not as good as Shrinking, but it's

(32:49):
still pretty really really good. I'vekind of started that one show for all
mankind. Oh, okay about thespace what if the Space Race never stopped?
And it's remarkably like this shouldn't Ishouldn't be as into this as I
am but this is really really goodand even if you go through all the
other stuff they have on there, the trailers they create are so enthralling,

(33:12):
and it's like Apple TV, Idon't know, maybe another five, six,
seven, eight years. They evenmay overtake Netflix. Yeah, because
because I mean even Silo, whichcame out and was a very slow burn.
I heard a lot of people gotreally into on a second season Hijack,
which is sort of like a miniseries of each ELBA Foundations. Newest
season I heard was really good aswell with Lee Pace. That's the one

(33:37):
thing that Apple has going forward thatother movie twodios don't. Maybe Amazon PROMP
does too, That's the only one, the one that has it. They
have pretty much unren lenting source ofrevenue because everybody boys Apple products, right,
the same thing every other year istheir revenue. And I think they
are the first company that's actually worththree trillion dollars mammy, so once drop

(34:01):
of two hundred million dollars on onon a the Godzilla, yeah, uh,
the cool don't take them over atsome point, Yeah, I mean
that's a cool thing. Like Ifeel like for the most part, Apple,
I mean, they've had like kidprogramming, but it's been a lot
of original stuff. This is notreally like super IP based. They're making

(34:21):
their own IP out of things. This kind of like taking the Monster Verse.
I know we're supposed to get anothermovie somewhere down the horizon. Do
we need it? Who knows? But this seems really dope because Monarch Legacy
the Monster is apparently is going totell the story of a family getting into
grips with this checkered history, discoveringhow they're involved with the shadowy Monarch organization,

(34:43):
which is pretty much you know thisthe was it sec Section nineteen or
whatever from Transformers Sector seven? Yeah? Yeah, yeah. Essentially Monarch is
that for all the monsters and themonster vers and I don't care to see
what you want was awesome. Idon't care what you say. I don't
care that there was no plot inGodzilla was big old monkey versus a big
old lizard. King King Ghidra wasMecca Godzilla, Sure, okay, I

(35:06):
don't care. I don't care.At some point King konganet movie will to
storm Brick. I was like, this is the best movie ever see it
in my life. I'm telling you, all we need is forgotten. Dan
Gypsy danger to come in the nextmovie and they didn't fight. Wait for
Gamels del Toro to approve it.Oh my god. But essentially Kurt and
Wyatt Russell I will actually be playingthe same character, which is really dope.

(35:29):
They'll both be playing army officer LeeShaw. Fifty years ago will be
Wyatt Russell and then today will beKurt Russell, which is really cool.
That is actually really really cool.I don't think there's been opportunity. Maybe
at some point we do that withJohn David Washington and Denzel Washington. I
can't think of any other cameo theywould do what I can do that.

(35:49):
Yes, we have to wait liketwenty years for every all young Hollywood to
age up and figure it. Ohactually you could, Oh dang it.
Who's there's who is the mom?Hold on, Lee Catherine Thompson, she
is the mom. She's the momfrom Back to the Future. She is
Zoe Deutsch's mom in real life.So they could do that if they wanted

(36:14):
to. That's a good one too, That's actually a really good one.
That's a really good one. Butcool thing is Apple also then give us
a trailer, but they showed stillswe're getting Godzilla in this show, so
like the budget will be there forGodzilla to look like how he looks like
in the movies. You know, look, this still looks amazing. Yeah,
it looks scary Godzilla. It's notlike, oh, that looks kind

(36:36):
of rough for a streaming show.Like that looks like the movie version.
Yeah. I think the only thingthat's lacking right now Ample TV. I
don't think all their movies have beengreat. Yeah, too have been good.
The other one comes kind of likelacklus. I think they're hit or
miss, and I think Blackbird's anotherone with Taron Edgerton and Paul Walter Howser
aka Stingray from covid Kai. Ithink Apple's shows have been hitten, and

(36:57):
I think eventually we'll get to Imean, I'm thinking most of the shows
ted last of the exception are inthe third, second or third season that
kind of started out waiting on Severanceseason two if that ever happens. But
you know, Severance maybe quietly oneof the best shows released in the last
five years. It's so good.John Taturo, we just told you like

(37:21):
six shows to watch for the nextyear before you watch Godzilla. But Hey,
Godzilla's coming. Uh. You maynot have Apple Music, but five
dollars a month for Apple Apple AppleApple TV plus is it's a bar really?
But Kevin, let's switch on overto the dc EU because it's time
to talk about Blue a Beetle BlueBeetle. So before we break it down

(37:47):
and officially hit the noise for thebreak it down, we have to talk
about this movie kind of where it'sat because it's the pen ultimate ak second
to last true dc EU movie lookingat you, Aquaman whenever that comes out,
and because of that, kind ofthe whole thing behind it is,
all right, what's happening with thismovie after it comes out? Obviously we're

(38:08):
not going to spoil anything right now. We'll spoil that in about like ten
minutes from now. The movie doesend and it teas up a storyline,
but are we actually going to getthat in the DCU, because the whole
thing is James Gunn said we're gonnatake him a Ray as Blue Beetle,
and Soolo Mari Duanea, who playsa character he'll be in the DCU,

(38:28):
but he didn't say a Blue Beetle. The movie will be part of the
DCU, which is the weird thing. Yeah, that was a weird statement
and frustrating statement, which is whyI always say even though we don't,
we don't really all we do isspeculate against the MC and then episode the
speculation turns into people being disappointed withthe movie. I think James Glen goes

(38:51):
too far to the other way.We He just tells you, yeah,
sometimes you're confusing. So just don'tsay anything. Just tell me what I
need to know and be specific about, not vague at all. I just
want the one answer. That's it. I feel like he's he's maybe I
don't know, two movies away fromhere's the script, leave me alone.
But so before we talk about BlueBeetle, we have to talk about this.

(39:13):
And I really love this article fromcomic book ten DC EU teases that
went absolutely nowhere. Technically there mightbe an eleventh one based on how this
movie ends. Not gonna spoil thatfor you, but that's what it is.
The first one from Man of Steel. Apparently Carol Carol Ferriss aka hal
Jordan's main love interest was in Manof Steel the whole time. They just

(39:37):
really never brought it up. Really, Yeah, apparently she is cleven Swanwick,
the general Ak. We find outHarry Lennox. You find out in
the Snyder cut that he's marketing ManHunter the whole time. That woman out
with with him was supposed to beCarol Ferris. Yeah. Interesting. Eventually

(39:58):
she also becomes I think it's wasit Black Star Fire I think at one
point two? Oh yeah, thecombox he does come in the compos yes,
which wasn't Justice League like that too? Actually, oh sorry, it's
a Star Star Star Sapphire, that'swhat it is. Probably all right,
So that's one. Next one,What the hell happened to Robin and that
man versus Superman? He? Uh, what's his name? Zack's not actually

(40:23):
told this, I can I thinklike maybe a year ago what actually happened.
But still it had been it hadbeen kind of cool if we get
gotten that before or you know, just tell us if he actually was Jared
Leto he turned into Joker and onit was Jason Todd, but you know,
it didn't get any of that,so it just confused us all When
Suicide Squad came out, Yeah,it was definitely does the easter put there

(40:45):
for Easter? Rake sig All right, there's that one. Next one,
the entire Nightmare timeline ak when Batman'swearing the got a gun and Flash was
in that future suit that said,Bruce Helois is the Lois is the key
got to tell you about the future. It's like, wait what. And

(41:07):
then at the end of Snyder cutwhere they filmed and got extra money so
they could film Jared Leto's Joker hangingout with Batman. The more we go
through this lessons angry. I wantto get Hey. I mean, at
least you did get Joe Manganello ina mohawk as death Stroke, which was
cool. I guess to look atthe next one. That's really annoying because
that was that was actually a moviethat was written and ready to go and

(41:30):
never happened, which was what Kevinin the Josh Whedon Justice League and credit
scene was death Strokes showing up onLex Luthor's boat to get a job,
presumably to kill Batman. And itwas revealed soon after that the next Batman
movie with Ben Athlen school was goingto be Batman Versus death Stroke and that
didn't happen, and we had testfootage or something about it that just was

(41:52):
there. Didn't get the Deadpool treatmentwhere the test footage got leaked and got
made into a movie. Nope, just never got turned into a movie.
I mean, what would the DCUmaybe have made as much as the MCU
probably not would have made something. It would have. Yeah, it just
kept it going the next one.Technically this got brought up, but it's

(42:15):
never gonna get answered because the dcu'sdone after Awkwaman mister mind aka the caterpillar
uh from Shazam one is end creditsand Shazam two's end credits as well.
Yeah, he's taking his sweet bippy. And if it seems like WHOA sorry
about that podcast, it took along forty minutes to get there. Yeah.

(42:38):
Yeah, the caterpillar that I wassupposed to mind control I think was
Tiva or whoever it was, Missdoctor Savannah Mark Shong's character still has happened,
And I doubt this Sam law willcarry over to the DCU, especially
with what Zach Relev has been talkingabout. Now, that was a pretty
deep cut to even even if thatwent through people like, there's some ddles

(43:00):
a bug next big one and ithurts us emotionally. The Flash of Two
Worlds aka where the hell was GrantGustin's Berry Allen the Flash movie because apparently
they actually did film stuff, theyjust never did anything with it. That
DVD better be packed with hitting footageor whatever the footage, because come on,

(43:22):
man, it's right there. Itwas right there. It was literally
right there. We've talked a lotabout that one. Just listen to the
Flash review two months ago. Nextone, Birds of Prey, that kind
of happened and then just like itwas shoved aside and never really brought up
again. Harley Quinnon even in thesuicide squad didn't really talk about it either.
There was there was set up.Birds of Prey is pretty good.

(43:45):
I know, Kevin, I don'tthink you've seen it still, right,
I haven't finished it. Every timeI started to watch it, my daughter
comes in the room, I'm like, dang it, it's raded. Are
you're not allowed to see it?But yeah, the whole Birds of Prey
thing just kind of happened, andmaybe that's how they kind of go with
these one off store is with theDCU of like, they'll happen, but
we're not gonna talk about it inthe main cannon. We're moving on.

(44:05):
We're moving on. Thinks everything's Okay, next one. Now, this was
cool as an Easter egg. Andyou know, we're probably never gonna get
wonder Woman three with Gal Gudo nowbecause what we talked about on Monday's episode,
but in the post credit scenes ofWonder Woman nineteen eighty four, we
had og wonder Woman Lynda Carter appearas an Amazonian, as a steer Asteria

(44:27):
who has been living with among menfor years and has an aged apparently supposed
to set up, you know,Diana having a mentor in the man's world.
Yeah, I ain't getting at forsure. Who would you cast as
just off top of your head asNews One Woman New wonder Woman it had
you're gonna tap into young Hollywood, and that's kind of like, look at

(44:50):
your Netflix shows right now. That'sreally what you're looking at. It'll get
into it in a minute. ButI kind of liked the lady from Little
Beetle as a New wonder Woman.See here's the thing we talked about this
orger we'll save it. No,we're not gonna take but I could see
that. But it depends what theydo with Blue Beetle, which we'll talk
about it like two minutes. Theother one we've talked about this. Obviously

(45:12):
a lot black Adam for the Supermanthat's never happening, even though you know
the rock wanted didn't happen and it'snot and the DCUs and shamble because of
it, but that is what itis. And then the other one,
which is kind of the most recentone before Blue Beetle, George Clooney's Batman.
We're probably never gonna get anything withthat was probably just a fun easter
egg because originally it's supposed to beMichael Keaton as Batman at the end of

(45:36):
the Flash then tee up bat Girland we're never getting that apparent, and
they apparently filmed they filmed that scenewith all the Batman safe of Val Kimer,
who was one of health issues, but they filmed everyone with one with
of course Clooney, one with Keaton, one bath and one with Pattinson,
and it chose Clooney. I don'tknow why. It could have been how

(45:57):
Spider Verse was, every theater getsa different version of it. That would
have been cool. That would havebeen cool, Actually, that would been
cool. It kind of been likeI don't know if you've ever seen Clue
when Clue came out in the eighties, got a different, different ending in
every theater, like why don't peopledo that more? And it would have
it would have tied into the multiversestuff. You could have done that.
It had been cool. It wouldhave been hard to explain it after the
flash. But you know what ifyou knew the thing with any who who

(46:19):
cares to do what you want.Yeah, but that leads us into Blue
Beetle. We both saw it.It sitting right now at eighty one percent
on Rotten Tomatoes certified fresh Kevin. It was about two hours long theater review.
Before you share what you thought aboutit, anything happened in the theater
you want to talk about. Welove all those verses. Nice of them.

(46:43):
They gave us. They gave usa nice little comic book. Comic
book to enjoy it with the movie. I'm sitting in my car right now.
The only real weird thing that I'llsay is not weird, but I
guess, you know, t Shone, the person next to me, I
guess had a bunt little something withthem to put in their and it was

(47:04):
heavily heavily in their drink because Icould smell it. Now we're talking a
little vodka. We're talking about tequila. What we're talking about, Well,
I'm not gonna see what I wasgonna say, but I think it was
tequila, all right, Right,I usually can't really smell rum and vodka.
I know what it smells like. That was tequila. That was in
tequila. I think it was actuallya pretty good theater experience of nothing out

(47:30):
of the normal. I think myfavorite part was probably when we were leaving.
There was like either Hispanic or aSpanish for a Mexican kid behind us
talking and he was stop talking aboutthe movie. He left every part of
it. I'm like, this isthis is this is what this is for?
They kind of made my heart littlewarm. I guess it's great.
Yeah, I think that's really cool. This movie, like is they've said

(47:51):
it in the trailer, is it'sfor we have a Latin superhero and it's
true because like you know, nomore they he's a villain, not really
the hero, but this is atrue hero, you know. So yeah,
I don't know what else to say, but yeah, So, Kevin,
what did you think about the movie? Non spoiler before we're getting them
spoilers, The movie itself leaves mewith complicated feelings because this may be the

(48:16):
best DC movies since Suicide Squad, and I'm upset that it may not make
any money unfortunately because of where it'sat and people are now back in school,
are starting to go back to schooland Barbie and again, and we'll
talk about this more of coming up. This This is one movie to Strike
could definitely definitely kill because I feellike if you've had the cast in the

(48:39):
movie is it's very very They're veryvery must of what I'm looking for.
They get along very well. Yeah, and George Lopez doing talks about Strike.
It would have been great for this. George Lopez will got everybody out
to see this movie. And Ithink Lopez in that family on the set
would have us. It would havelet us get to know the cast because
like we know George Lopez, weknow Zoelomardenna because of Cobra Kai. You

(49:01):
know him just because of Cobra Kai. But like the Sister, the Jennifer
Cord, Susan Thrandon, Susan Thrandon, but like to know the cast more
were connected to the film. ButI think would would push that over to
like oh Man, like Jolomar Duennais himreas in real life exactly, And
I am so upset that they couldn'tcome to an agreement because they were just

(49:24):
so bullish at amp webiny called AMTPTPTP. They've been so bullish on negotiations that
they are they are now actively killingtheir own product and it's really annoying to
me. Yeah. So obviously thismovie was meant for streaming, but it
is in theaters. But Kevin, anything else on your non spoiler thoughts?

(49:44):
Oh, Like I said, thecast is great, the effects were surprisingly
I'm fresh, I'm very ready freshsafe for I mean one or two parts.
I al felt kind of a nonspoiler, but that's actually this question
doesn't want to take place in likethe distant, not to distant. I
think it really is, Like Iappreciate this. It takes place in Palmyra

(50:05):
City, which in the comics isHigh City in the DCU is like it's
I think it's kind of going fromMiami ish vibe a little bit with it,
or like sort of a more Southerncoastal vibe. And I think just
to differentiate itself from the gritty nittyof Gotham and Central City where you didn't
really hang out in in the din the Flash movie and Metropolis, Yeah,

(50:30):
but that was in Gotham. Wedid we were saving Central City babies.
It was Gotham babies. But alsoit's funny though because I don't know
why, but because of the theworld is set up, maybe I don't
know, I could see this cityand the city that was in Black Adam
existing in the same theoretical world. It felt the same for some reason that
yeah, first time, and Icould feel like, Okay, this is

(50:52):
the same world that Black Adam existingthe way the city is. Also shout
out to the ally Bank uh productplacements in this because they were just billboards
and then the thing I was like, I have Ally Bank. Good good
job. That's funny because I thoughtI was like, hey, let's asking
a NASCAR all the time. Theydid a good job. It wasn't like
like what is that. It's like, oh, it's just a normal billboard

(51:13):
like a city would have. Soit wasn't, as I guess apparent as
the singular thing in the first SpiderMan movie. It was like singular hold
here for twenty five seconds or whenthe Xbox through sixty transformer transforms on the
shooting Mountain wasn't that bad, butit was still there. But yeah,
I enjoyed the movie a lot.I think kind of went in with low

(51:35):
expectations, which I think a lotof people went in with just because of
what we've heard about this movie. But I think it's a really good time
and I do think streaming wise, this was where it will help. The
movie. Unfortunately sucks because like theyput it in theaters because they had faith
behind it. But you know,Shrek's happened. But I think it is
go see it. It is twohours ish, like right under two hours.

(51:59):
That's not too long, and Idon't think it overstays. It's welcome,
but I think that it is written. Yeah, I think it really.
Like keV said, you love yougrow to love this cast. But
the weird and unfortunate thing is isthat entire cast coming back when they bring
Blue Beetle with them too. Andthen there's the thing at the end,
like we've been kind of hinting thattease something up that we may or may

(52:21):
not get who who the hell knows? We just gotta wait on a James
Gun tweet to tell us or not. And it's funny because I was seeing
a lot of reviews. I beforeI went to see it, I said,
like, the movie is a littlemessy and disjointed in the first act,
but it picked up in a secondact. I kind of appreciated that
that. I guess that, youknow, slowness in the first act because
you got to notice family and getto know how close they are, and

(52:43):
then the crazy stuff happens and allhappens to get closer. Yeah, there
was no like you betrayed me.Now I'm not talking to you for an
entire ten minutes, Still something badhappens. I'm just like, no,
this sucks, but you know howyou get through this together? Yeah,
I mean, and that was andlike you said, like that family dynamic
was parent from the beginning of themovie all the way to the end of
the movie. And it wasn't justlike, oh there's a background. I
think he's a family person. Like, no, the family's going with him

(53:05):
on the adventure the whole time, which is always say, like I'm saying,
as a as a personal color,Hispanic and Black families have more in
common than they do have separately, you know what I mean, I have
differences. So that's how it wouldbe like no, no, no,
no, you ain't going by yourself. We all go this is an alien
spaceship in the middle. Were goingin there. We're going to blow stuff
up and save off family. Obviously, the film was also directed by on

(53:30):
hell Manuel Socho, which is greatto have a Latin director directing Latin superhero
movie. So perhaps that good onyou DC for letting that happen and not
just being a cookie cutter. Itis kind of have a little bit of
that origin story formula. But let'sface it, not a lot of people
know who Blue Beetle is unless youwatched Young Justice or you played Injustice to

(53:52):
the video game, and that's smallsets of people. I know that,
But this is what I think. We'll put the character on the map.
I'll I'll looking at how you knowGreen Arrow is on the map because of
Arrow. You have Hawkeye. Everyoneknows who Hawkeye is because of Avengers and
stuff. And that movie does havea little bit of you know, the
final villain is the reverse of ourhero, and that's just what you want

(54:14):
to see now. In at leastit wasn't an identical version, you know,
they made him look different at least, but it was the same thing.
It was more Iron and the Ironmongerthan you know. Black Panthers great,
exactly, Yeah, the greatest one, great movie the all time,
but only it was just two BlackPanthers final what can the shade of that
purple? Or Gold's gold gold?Okay to y'alla almost wore that one.

(54:37):
That was more confusing, But Kevin, let's actually out of ten, we'll
say, Beetles. What would yougive the movie as right now? Eight
Beatles? This is really good.I'd agree with you too. I think
eight is a good spot where it'sat, and I think this make movie
makes you more excited to see whatHimeras does next in whatever form that baby,

(55:00):
I will say reading that supposed theleak's plot to Back Girl and seeing
this movie, this probably would havebeen a better movie still even that was
released. And it makes me sadbecause I think in that same announcement,
I think it was it was Thunderdome, not Thunderdome. What was it called
DC the fandom? Fandom? Yeah, yeah, this was announced Back Girl
and Static was announced all like thesame announcement, And I don't think we're

(55:21):
ever going to see Static unfortunately, but if they can do something like this
with Static, whether it's it's streamingor in theaters. I think it'll they'll
do a really good They should takecues from this and do the same thing
black director about a black family inthe inner city, and just keep keep
keep the same themes going, justwith a different hero on. But let's
get on the spoilers. Here wego three two on spoilers bound. Not

(55:44):
a lot to spoil per se.It really was we go they're a little
bit but if you watch now Justice, you kind of get this movie.
Yeah, but essentially we find outJola Marjoina, he plays him Rays.
He's a teenage college graduate or he'sa college graduate, went to Gotham Law,
he's pre law coming home from asenior year of college to Palmyra City,

(56:05):
like we said, kind of thoseMiami vibes to his family they live.
I forgot what the it was likethe edge of the city forms and
Palmira City. Yeah, it waslike the edge of the city that was
like a neighborhood. They live ina neighborhood that is kind of the neighborhood
getting gentrified. You know, PalmiraCity pretty much headed up by Cord Industries,
uh, kind of taking over thetown. Improving it, but really

(56:29):
pushing everyone out. Great line ofyou know the rich go this way,
we go this way, but whenthe rich see that we have something they
liked, they also push us out, essentially along those lines. Good commentary,
but I'll be quiet. Yeah, good commentary throughout this entire movie about
that, which is really dope becauseit was, to my knowledge, one
of the DC movies that actually hada message within the movie, which is

(56:51):
great. And I don't think itwas heavy handed either. I think it
was it was just like, yeah, that happens. Yeah, I mean
yeah, like heavy handed, likehey, you bad people, you're at
times Susan Surrandon was kind of likethat. But I think that was kind
of a point to make cur village. But essentially we find out him comes
back. Unfortunately, when he comesback, his family is going to get

(57:12):
pushed out of their home. Hishis dad, mom, grandma, his
sister, and his uncle which ishis uncle was named Reggie correct, right,
Rudy Rudy. Yes, sorry,it is cool. I think this
movie is really great if uh likefor representation because they speak in in Spanglish
the whole entire time, Like itis really like you're going to Eric's house,

(57:35):
misteric Vie's house. This is howan actual Latin family works. It's
not like, here's our one Spanishsentence, then we talk in English the
entire time. Yeah, I rememberwhen actually we went to Max's first birthday
party, and that's how Eric's momtalked to me. For some reason,
I understood. I don't know,why would you make a lower third of
cat cam underneath for a second toput it up? That's okay, that's
perfect, keeps people watching. Butuh, really, we find out that

(58:00):
High May is like, well,I'm gonna, you know, try out
for jobs, do what I canto help the family grow. You know,
this time in five years, we'regoing to own Palmyra City. Cut
to what you saw on the trailerwith I just want to rock him looking
above out the pool, greatass house? Whoever, like, whoever actually owns
that house that they filmed that yougot dope ass house. Turns out he

(58:21):
is just working with his sister cleaningup What was Cord? What was Victoria
Chord? Who is the villain ofthe film's house. Victoria Cord is actually
the CEO, taking over after herbrother Ted Chord. The original Blue Beetle
which we actually see in this thathe was a superhero mysteriously disappears. Whole
line there too of that her VictoriaCord, Susan Brandon's character and her dad

(58:46):
actually built the company, but thedad when he passed away gave it to
the Sun. A little bit ofworkplace negotiations and stuff like that was really
interesting commentary. Still in that,we find out High May decides, you
know, I'm gonna be brave.I'm going to talk to Victoria Chord maybe
see if I can get an interviewor a job. But while he's doing
that and his sister, uh,trying to get what was a sister's name,

(59:08):
I forget, Oh, I haveit right here, uh, Milagro
Millie. Essentially she's taken a dumpin the person in Victoria the bathroom,
which is why I said it.Uh. He comes upon a Victoria Chord
talk talking to Carapacs, a bodyguardworking for that. You know, we're

(59:31):
this close to cracking the formula, and essentially we find out that it is
Jennifer Cord played by Bruno Marcazini, who is beautiful, it dropped dead,
gorgeous, and that is just afact. With this movie finds out that
her dad. She's she's the daughterof Ted Chord. She's like, this

(59:52):
company was never made for weapons, kind of like a like an Iron Man.
You're doing the wrong thing. Himay hears it? Victoria uh,
him unfortunately gets fired. Victorias says, you know, come meet me or
sorry, Jennifer sorry, a lotof a lot of names. I'll get
it. Says meet me at thecompany. Well, we'll figure out something
for you. Him goes to thecompany. Mind you forgot The movie started

(01:00:13):
where it is Victoria Chord and HarveyGillan from What We Do in the Shadows.
A. K. Garamo is herlike chief scientist. And that was
the unfortunate thing about this movie. He was completely wasted in this movie.
Unfortunately. Yeah. I think hemay have had ten lines maybe and like
maybe, yeah, that was aboutit. Also, the scene of establishing

(01:00:36):
them at dad house was literally right. I think it's like the same thing
as Hung Chee where che Parkner's dopeis Dope Car Car. It was partner
because that's where he works. Yeah, so we cut to him pretty the
great conversation with his dad of likewhat is your purpose? He and the
dad really having like my purpose ishaving this conversation with you. Kevin got

(01:00:57):
very emotional in this movie, andthey're very emotional dad's scenes in this but
I mean, that's the thing.It's a family movie, so like there's
gonna be I want to stop watchingmedia because I feel like they've taken aim
on emotional fathers and I am oneand had one. So it's like,
this is not fair. Behime goesto what he assumes his interview. Unfortunately

(01:01:19):
it isn't because Jennifer has actually stolenwhat is the Scara bak the blue beetle
uh from uh from her her aunt, stolen it, put in a big
belly burger, which was cool, got a pop, gott a pop from
us. We're like, we knowwhat that is because they are over.
Turns out she stole the blue beetle, put it in the box, gave

(01:01:42):
it to him. Hime doesn't knowwhat it is, so he takes it
home while to Cord Industries is underlockdown. And this was really cool because
they really played it of like thisisn't a cool like tech transformation moment.
It really felt like Hime was gettingpossessed almost in this moment, like this
is a horror movie. He takesit home, and of course his family

(01:02:02):
is telling him to open it.At the point they start channing it,
which is hilarious. The family inthis movie is so good. The family
this movie actually reminds me of thefamily from Miss Marvel, Like you love
the main character, but you fallin love with the entire family. Yeah.
But once Himey touches it, theygoes all Predator on him, not
predator alien on them. It goeswith the face. That's it, and

(01:02:22):
it knocks out Rudy at one point. Yeah, and we don't see it
for a while, and you'll seewhere Rudy said he thinks it win.
I'm not going to spoil that part, but it's just pretty funny. Yeah,
essentially we find out it turns himinto what we know as the Blue
Beetle. And I really appreciate this, minus the transformation scene that was cgi.

(01:02:43):
Practically every scene Blue Beetle was inMine's Fine obviously was made practically,
and it was Joelomari doing it inthe suit, even at the very end
of this movie, which it gotreally dope looking wise, like Darth VADERI
a little bit. Yeah, oneof those things where I feel like they
took lessons from the First Iron Man, because First Iron Man suit was actually
practical and it became more cg asyou know, the movies went on and

(01:03:07):
I'm robinized, I'm not, I'mnot, I'm not putting on. Yeah,
but the first Iron Man's who looksstill looks good to this day,
and I think they took a lotof cues from that to make the suit
look great too. Practically not CGI, but essentially the suit takes him out
for a test drive in this scenario, not the other way around. We
get, obviously scenes we've seen fromthe trailer, great line of these three
dudes getting high, like I don'tthink it's hit yet. They see him

(01:03:30):
dude going full superhero cutting a busand half crashing into a car, and
like, I think it is.I think it in that's definitely me.
But I haven't take an edible, which I probably will assume because I want
to see it. Was like Iwant to, I canna eat it.
Just you wait, Kevin. Wealso find out Becky g actually voices Kajita,
who is the AI or the actualscareb of the Blue Beetle. They

(01:03:51):
kind of didn't really do the YoungJustice plot line with it because I think
they left that open ended if theyever were going to do a sequel with
it. Yeah, Young Justice Flatlintakes click because basically more alien race is
basically genetically grooming the human race tobe metas so they can sell them on
the market. That's a lot.So yeah, it's a lot for the

(01:04:12):
first movie. Yeah. So thenwe find out him comes home, he
turns naked every time he gets intothe suit, which is great moments of
that family, like, whoa itgets out? Put it away? Who
want to see that? See that? Essentially, him finds Jennifer again,

(01:04:32):
I'm saying Jennifer right, Yeah, the names are confusing me with the chords,
uh, and ask pretty much what'she's pulling up on her house.
Turns out Carapacs and his men aretrying to get her, detain her,
figure out where the Blue Beetle is. They decide, with the help of
Rudy uncle George Lopez, essentially inthe scenario that they're going to break into

(01:04:53):
Cord Industries, find this watch, which leads them to get more info about
the the scar up. Because Jenniferknows a a lot more about that Blue
Beetle than we originally thought because sheis Ted Chord's daughter. Yes, we
eventually find out Ted Cord and DanielGarrett where people. Daniel Garrett was the
first person to wear the actual blueBeetle, that the scarab actually only accepts

(01:05:15):
host that it chooses, but didn'treally work out so hot for Daniel Garrett
he died, but Ted Cord nevergot the beetle, but he kind of
allah, you know, a Batmanmade his own superpowers or superpowers, but
his own supertech that he would use. Apparently it's kind of a mix of
also like owl Man from Watchman alittle bit too. I think they hit

(01:05:36):
it in the movie that he kindof reversed engineered it a little bit from
the capabilities other scare up. Andthat's also from the comics as well,
where Ted Cord found the original scarratbut didn't never put it on because he
liked the ad on I'm not dumb, So it's kind of again reversed engineered
it became the Blue Beetle, andalso was he was the of a popular
comic and everybody loved it was BlueBeetle and shoot, what's that guy from

(01:05:58):
the future Booster goldas Yes, it'slike a very popular comic book. Another
thing that's probably shot dead now becauseof Yes, but we're getting Booster Gold
in some form. Essentially, wefind out after him takes on his first
fight with Carapacs that Carapacs has likea proto version of the soup, but
it is Susan Surrandon's character, VictoriaCord and Cara PACs that want to take

(01:06:23):
the scare of out of him oruse him to make their own supertect and
put it on soldiers worldwide. IronMan two essentially, if you want to
go with that plot, I meanit was heavily I am and I am
honor in this movie, and it'sfine because, yeah, we like it.
We like that, and when youlook at the set of the powers

(01:06:44):
that he's giving, he's basically kindof an Iron Man like figure. Yes
whatever. We eventually then cut tothat him, Victoria, and Uncle Rudy
have all gone to h Sorry,Jennifer, I keep having up the name.
They go to Jennifer's oldest date thather dad used to live at.
Her dad disappeared six a couple alot of years ago when she was six.

(01:07:05):
Turns out secret based under his undereverything, this is where Zelamardinia.
He needs new clothes because he's nakedagain because it's transforming into the suit,
and they put him in like sortof old nineties clothes and he en Jednifer
Cord have a scene, good chemistryscene, just gonna say that, and

(01:07:26):
Rudy comes in and he sees what'shappened to him. He has a boner,
and it was it was a funnyscene because like it was very like
untold, but it was very subtle. And then a lot of people you
could tell everyone suddenly got it atthe end, like, oh, he
had a boner, Like trust trustme, every guy to sees this movie
as we can one know exactly whathe was going to shoot. I can

(01:07:47):
can't get up right now while thisis going on. It turns out the
carapacs Victoria Cord, they're actually prettymuch breaking into the raises his house.
However, say that and essentially veryintense, very little too reel on that
end, but that's the thing. It was the point home invading the house

(01:08:08):
pretty much in doing so, too, Lore debate him out. They do
so, but in the process Him'sdad has a heart attack. We learned
who's had heard issues while he wasaway at college. He unfortunately passes away
while him's trying to rescue him inVictoria, Cord and Carapacs capture him.
He can't do anything. He's draggedaway watching his father died. It's just

(01:08:29):
very emotional. Yeah, that thatthat hit me very, very hard.
There's also what I knew I wasliking the movie because a lot one of
the things through the movie is thatthe student is trying to literally, you
know, take out the people that'sattacking him. But he came say,
hey, we're not killers, We'renot a killer. In that moment,
Nah, everybody dying. I'm markingeverybody because you mess with my family.
That's the line exactly. That's literallythe line process and it goes from non

(01:08:55):
lethal to lethal exactly. We findout then that Him has taken to an
island off off Cuba. Essentially thatHarvey Gown's character, the scientist is gonna
pretty much zap his powers and putit in these red scare beetles, the
power up Susan Sarandon's suits in doingso. We also this is kind of
where the Grandma starts to shine alot in the Aboila in the film,

(01:09:19):
because she we find out she mighthave had a war history that we didn't
know about, a guerrilla history, you know, and she's like, we
don't have time to cry right now. Your dad would want to get him
back first and cry later, whichwe eventually do get that payoff layer.
In the movie, they meet upwith Rudy, they meet up with Jennifer.

(01:09:40):
They find out that they have aBlue Beetle ship shuttle, kind of
like the Watchman Al shuttle essentially.Yeah. Also, I want to say
to the actress that played the grandmother, where is it? Her name is
Adriana Bardaza. That scene was completelyin Spanish because she didn't speak to my
goes in the movie, which isonly Spanish. And that's maybe one of

(01:10:02):
the best active performances in the movie, that one scene which brought them together.
Hey, we ain't got time tocry right now. We can cry
later, but right now we gottago head. Yeah. I love that
scene a lot. And then Ilost my I lost my page. They
get to the island. Essentially, they have the Beatles. I think it
was a Motley Crue song. Theyhad sort of the month fight montage.

(01:10:23):
Yeah, yeah, it kicks outmy heart, kickstart my Heart, which
was Okay, I gonna have pickeda different song that would have been better,
but that's okay. You know, they gotta do what they guys.
I think it could have probably Iwas just want to rock right there.
Maybe maybe that would have been great, But I do like that. Going
in this movie, we thought itwas gonna be very like Tiktoki gen Z

(01:10:43):
leaning heavy plot of like, oh, this is very like a Netflix movie.
But it wasn't, which is reallygood. I think it kind of
reversed with the marketing a little bitbecause it stayed true to the family and
that's raised. I mean, heis one of the most powerful heroes in
the DC universe, but he he'sabout his family exactly. Essentially, we
find out the family. They allget these cool weapons that Jennifer got from

(01:11:06):
her dad. The Boylight gets thiscool like disco disco e gun. H
Millie gets this sort of it's apower glove that turns either into a fist
or a shield, which is reallydope. Yes, it's very Miss Marveli,
which may have been in a purpose. Essentially. Then uh, we
find out that Victoria Court Susan Sarandon'scharacter, they have sapped the energy they

(01:11:31):
needed out of him after him iskind of in uh kind of an ancestral
plane in between worlds purgatory where heis talking to his dad really sad imedately,
they had like a field of candlesbehind the dads like Kevin is not
gonna Kevin's gonna get emotional there thatspart right now. I call it work
right now, just go home andcrawsword. Yeah, it's not fair.

(01:11:56):
Essentially find out we kind of getechoes of the conversation they had when Jim's
dad was alive, like, thisis your purpose, you, you and
kaji to have to you know, find the common purpose, all the while
essentially himze neural waves or linking upwith Kajia to truly become the blue beetle.
Yeah, the great, great, great scene, great drama. I

(01:12:17):
won't take a minute right here talkabout Sudent Surrand's character though, because we're
kind of getting towards the end ofit. Do you think there was a
few scenes where she was just beingtoo evil? I think it was because
this limited amount of screen time thatshe had, but just I mean,
that's just how we spend a lotof time with the family versus the villain,
and because technically there was two villains. There was her as the techie

(01:12:39):
villain and then Carapacs as the musclethat we learned a little bit more about
Carapacs at the very end to giveyou, like a two percent a bit
of sympathy towards him. But atthe at the end time, I think
they'd used that to be like, all right, we gotta make Susan Surrandon
the evil evil you know, Yeah, Carapax is a ordin is similar site

(01:13:00):
the mort is in kind for everything. Well, I gotta see why the
more. But yeah, I doget like you've kind of told me yesterday
that Susans Rand ends the villa. This is a little week and I think
it's just the amount of screen timewith having that two technically villains in the
film. Yeah, I think Ithink maybe a lesser known but maybe still
widely known actress in that in thatrole may have been I don't know.

(01:13:24):
I said, I think that theevil evil teacher from Glee might have been
a little bit better. Jane Lynchcould have done it. J lyn Yeah,
I think Dames might have been dropsLike, I get it, Susan
your evil get are you? Areyou? I think unfortunately though this is
gonna aid you a little bit ofme and anyone listening right now is like,
well, we put Jane Lynch in, everyone's gonna know her from Glee

(01:13:45):
or only murders in the building whereSusan Surrandon, at least to the younger
generation, not a lot of peopleare familiar with their work as a lot
of other people, you know, and he has been in a lot of
I guess Blockbuster main things lately.Yeah, probably either to get but that's
just me. Doesn't take away fromthe movie at all. Eventually, we
do find out that Harvey Jones doctorSanchez. He's not doctor Sanchez at all.

(01:14:11):
That's not his name at all.He kind of has his hero moment
helping him escape the lab and doingso, he dies very abruptly, very
like, whoa, he's dead,He's squished. He kind of reminded me
of the guy from the Severance kindof way you kind of save the dating.
Yeah, you set up for yourself, sir. Yeah, So that
he dies and, like we said, kind of wasted. But essentially we

(01:14:33):
get a fight scene between Hi May, we get Millie kind of doing her
power fists and all that stuff reallygreat. Eventually, it results into Carapacs
and him a fighting one on one. We get uh, we do get
a call out to Scorpion uh fromMortal Kombat because him does good over here

(01:14:54):
and drags a guy over with hislittle tendril I guess or something you would
call it. That was cool.We got to the end of the movie,
we kind of got to see likeI said, like you said,
him and the Beetle becomes cable, coming one taught and becoming like him.
He's he's still a really young guy. He plays video games probably you know,
he likes anime, like look atthat sword he made, So it
was kind of cool to see himbecome hime and ended this one. Yeah,

(01:15:16):
essentially they fight. They fight. It out turns out that soon as
Surandon's Victoria, Cord also has takenJennifer with her because she has the code
for the Blue Beetles, so shedoesn't really need Cara PACs anymore. In
doing so, the's mcguffin that Jenniferhas a piece of gum that turns out
to be like a safety bubble orsomething like that, so they escape.

(01:15:38):
A flying helicopter gets the whole thing. It's like, oh okay, that's
what that was. That was it. I think it was the same material
from The Incredibles when they call MissIncredible, like trying to get the password,
That's what it was. Eventually, him has pretty much defeated, neutralized
Cara PACs. He's going in forthe killing blow. But this is when
uh Kajida says him, no,the opposite of what it was the beginning

(01:16:00):
of film, this isn't you werenot killers, And we get sort of
a little cliche moment off he stabssomething, but it's just really the ground
next to the villain's head. Youknow. Yeah, he wouldn't have made
it though because of you. Mydad's gone now it's like now you're gone
to It turns out that, likewe said, Kajita kind of downloaded Cara

(01:16:21):
Packs his memories because she was sortof connected to him as well. This
is where Jimi learns about that kindof forgives and gives Cara Packs a chance,
and Cara PACs in turn takes Jennifernot Jennifer Victoria Court Susan Sarandon's character
into the fire blows up Wa Wawhile him and the group are escaping on
the Blue Beetle Ship essentially. Yeah, even though him just stabbing him in

(01:16:45):
cold blood would have been pretty dark, him just casuy walking her into fire
with pretty dark. Yeah, itwas cool. She like you've got harmor
at least, but okay, it'skind of like those dizzy movies when like
the bad guy always dies. I'mhorror, like, you know, it
wasn't just like you know, Scarwas, I don't know he I don't
know he went away and ran away. No, he was thrown off a
mountain and even by hyen. Yeah, that was pretty dark. But then

(01:17:09):
essentially we cut probably a couple ofweeks, maybe a couple of days later,
it turns out the Rayas families returnedfrom their dad's funeral, turns out
Jennifer Court's taken over Court Industries again, saying they're going back to no weapons
again. This is where we reallysee the community for me, not a
rich person saving the day, whichtechnically does, but it is a community

(01:17:29):
coming to help the Raya's family kindof grief a little bit, you know,
have a little bit of a cookoutwith everybody and say this is our
neighborhood, our community. Eventually Jenniferdoes pop up, say you know the
house is yours. She gives itessentially, she gives a job to Rudy.
It seems like all the while, while High May is now officially the
Blue Beetle essentially. And then again, like I said, like how even

(01:17:51):
though they're different races the black communityand more similar than they are different.
Well, somebody the same thing wassomebody passed away black family the next day?
Anybody so much you have for foodall the top our where are you
good? One? Ye? I? We do finally get him kissing Jennifer,
And this is where I'm gonna saythat Jennifer the actress Bruno mar Cuisini

(01:18:15):
needs to play Brian and Jordana Brewster'sdaughter in the Fast and Furious franchise if
forever get that far now Fast Xpart two is supposed to be the final
but she looks like she could easilyplay Jordana Brewster's daughter, and it would
make so much sense. Did theyhave a kid? They have a son?
Maybe two sons. I don't know, because they kind of like just

(01:18:38):
write them out a little bit, just because unfortunately the Paul Walker stuff.
But jor Jordana Brewster gets gets yourcheck every time, you know, the
movies you are right, she couldplay them. But I also like her
as a wonder woman character because Iwas like, she's very Statue West,
She's stunning. I could totally seeher willing a sword in a shield one
day in a colorful outfit. EmmaMackie could be good too, even though

(01:19:01):
they might cast her as young HarleyQuinn if they do the DCU again.
Oh yeah, true, it's theMargot Robbie look alike from Sex Education in
case you didn't know, and alsoin the Barbie movie. But yeah,
and the movie ends right here withher sayings to going back to our dad.
By the way, I actually thoughtwhat the movie was going to end
that since they moved that the housewas basically burned down and destroyed, She's

(01:19:21):
gonna move them into our dad's house. I thought that was gonna happen.
That's her house though, But you'reyou're right. The movie does end him
a taking Jennifer into into the skies. We cut the credits and it's maybe
like ten seconds of credits before weget the mid credit scene, which is
how you do credits. Mid creditsscene is they go back to the Ted

(01:19:43):
Chords slash Jennifer Chord's house. Lenname Jennifer right as somebody's kind of talk
through the Bruobis computer tech Chords computerand said, hey, whoever did this?
Let my daughter know I'm alive, but I'm like in space. I'm
still around, but we don't seea face, and they think, who
thinks today? My theory. Unfortunately, this tea's into the DCU TSEs that

(01:20:04):
will never get answered. This couldbe one we don't know based only DCU
stuff. Essentially, they cut toJennifer Cord looking at like a finger painting
or mural or something of her familywhere it's no one's faces on it.
We don't really see your mom either, but the facial features look so alike

(01:20:26):
to Jason Sadikis. I was likeJason Sadikas to be really dope, as
like a hero who's out of touchand out of you know, out of
work and doesn't because he's been surpassedby his apprentice essentially, and like that'd
be great. But then the voiceon the computer was not Jason Sadikis.
I don't know who the voice is. We saw the movie early, so
we'll find out this week. We'lltalk about it on Monday's episode. But
I'm like, God, that wouldhave been so cool if it was now

(01:20:50):
when you google it though the imageshirt, one of the image thumbing it
was is Jason Tudakas next to ablue beetle thing. So you're not the
only one who thinks that. Iwill say that I don't know who it
is. I kind of hope it'sa thing they kind of stick with because
with the way he's talking about it, maybe he's in the same world.

(01:21:12):
Maybe he's It's kind of like anant man, a man in the Wasp,
a little bit kind of storyline withMom, you know. So hopefully
maybe they figure out how. WhenJames Gunn said this blue Beetle will be
back in my new DC EU,maybe he means he'll pull whoever it is
Ted Cord into his new universe ofDC and through the multiverse Loophole O Monterina

(01:21:39):
into his beetle world as well.I don't know. Yeah, And the
interesting thing is too, they kindof throughout the whole movie. When you
get to the Blue Beetle Layer, there is three three manne mannequins. Two
of them are in suits. Oneof them has a weird pillow tied next
to it. They're like, andI told you, I was like,
I didn't know what that pillow thingwas, Like, is he he's wearing
a suit or that's to be something. So we'll find that out if there

(01:22:01):
ever is to be a second movieor spin off or redo or whatever.
But there's a second end credit scene. It is more of the joke end
credit scene of sort of the inmovie cartoon that Uncle Rudy uses to distract
the cameras at ted at Court Industries. You really don't need to stick around
for that one. You can bounceup before that. I think that's like
a Latino I think that's a cartoonfrom like Latino TV and Mexican Mexican TV.

(01:22:28):
I don't know what it is,but maybe if you, if you,
if you're a Hispanic original Latin Orgin, you might know it and you
might want to see it. Butyeah, us two dumb Americans on what
it is. But then that's theend of the movie. So now,
Kevin, obviously we've kind of talkedabout where we think it's gonna go,
because it's really just depending on whathappens at the DCU. We have to
add it to our dc EU inReview rankings the penultimate addition to it.

(01:22:55):
Yeah, I think we were kindkind of incopatico yesterday before we left it.
We kind of knewhere where was thiswas going to be, So let
me break it down for you.Forgot to forgot to do that one,
so let it go. But Kevin, here's our DC EU in Review rankings.
As of right now. This haspretty much been what it is for

(01:23:17):
the Dawn of Time. We didadd Shazam, Fur the Gods kind of
willy nilly, So this is whatit is. Number one. Thus Suicide
Squad number two, Man of Steel, Shazam the first one at number three,
Peacemaker at number four, Wonder Womanat number five, Shazam, Fury,
the Gods, Black Adam Zack Snyder'sJustice League, Wonder Woman nineteen eighty

(01:23:38):
four, Aquaman, Batman, Superman, the Flash at number twelve, Birds
of Prey and the Fabitatabolist and MasterPatient one, Harley Quinn a Suicide Squad
the twenty sixteen version, and areDead last. We had Justice League the
original version. I love that PeaceMake a thumbnail so much. It is
they don't have the show and it'sthe only one that doesn't have the shows.

(01:23:58):
So that's where it's Kevin stupid letterbox. Just put it on there.
You know people are making these rankingswith this. It's so good, So
Kevin bidding starts. I'm gonna sayeasily, it's for sure at least in
the top six, above Shazam Furyof the Gods. Yes, I would
will say six. I could bepersuade to five because of One Woman's third

(01:24:21):
act. Again, we want togo into it, but third X is
not grades in the first two andI think, yeah, yeah, I
keep going. But at the sametime, I think six is a great
starting point. Four Yeah, Ithink six is a great starting point.
Willing to move it up. Well, Wonder Woman I think was great,
Like you said, the first twothirds of that movie, awesome as hell.
Third the third act where you said, aries pops up and it's really

(01:24:42):
like like ten minutes of the thirdx four and after that's still pretty good.
Yeah. Obviously the theme song stuckaround a lot. I here's the
thing. I kind of want tomove Shazam down is what I want to
do. Honestly, I'm with you. I'm with you right now. I
would honestly move Shazam down the numberat six and then move everything up one
if you like makes more sense.I am actually totally poor that, you

(01:25:06):
know what executive decision, because let'sface it, who cares about the DCU
after Awquaman comes out. It's movingdown baby. In the words of Kylo
brim the past is dead. Killit if you have to do all right.
So right now, though, wehave Blue Beetle at five, Wonder
Woman at four, Peacemaker at three, Man of Steal at two. Kevin,

(01:25:27):
do you think blue Beetles should beabove Wonder Woman or do you think
Wonder Woman's should stay where it's at? Uh? If we do what we're
doing and moving she's am down tosix, it should be shu'sa squad Man
of Steel, Peacemaker, a WonderWoman, a blue Beetle. All right.
I kind of like that too.I think I just think the Wonder
out of the DCU proper movies, because I know this is kind of like

(01:25:50):
doing its own thing a little bit. That was like, oh, get
high. The Wonder Woman movie waspretty good actually, you know, like
but it's still that first battle scenewas she World War two in the trenches
and fuel goes crazy that town likeyo, one of them is legit all
right, so I'm gonna lock itin. Then a number five Blue Beetle

(01:26:12):
Shazama's moved from number three to thenumber six position, and we're gonna say,
you know what, we took apass on that. Why because Zach
really advised a douche. Let's justsay that amid there right now. Yeah,
sometimes it's better just to be quiet. Yeah, and that's why your
movie tanked at the box office early. It's her two. I'll say,
either be quiet or you want totalk about your talk about your thoughts.
Have detail and sighted things that whatyou're talking about, but don't say things

(01:26:36):
and move on. Part of me, part of me wants to move Fury
of the Gods down because at leastBlack Adam had that cool slow mode scene.
But whatever, it had the DoctorFate scenes too, But whatever,
I mean, I still like BVSa lot better than where it is.
But it's fine, it's fine,it's fine whatever. But that is our

(01:26:57):
current DCU and review Rankings sixteen projects. One more to go, Aquaman,
and then we'll figure out how thedc you in review Rankings work. Do
we automatically move over suicide squad pieceMaker and Blue Beetle or what we'll find
out hopefully by the end of thisyear. Come on, Aquaman, just
come out at this point. AndI also say, if you listen to

(01:27:18):
it right now, either watching hislive watch us on YouTube, or listen
to us own podcasts, go seethis movie. Yeah not this weekend.
At some point it's this in Turtlesare two movies that are gonna be slept
on, I think just because ofbarb Barbary Mania, but deserve to be
watched in theaters because I think theyboth have great messages. They both do
kind of are in take what isknown but put their own spin on it,

(01:27:41):
and they're both good movies. Atthe end of the day. Whereat
the Flat like we had the Flash, we had the Michael Bay Turtles.
Movies like those are bad. Theseare great and they're fun. I feel
like after Infinity War we forgot howto have fun in the theater and now
we're just going to be there foran exposition in the plot, like no,
no, It's okay to have funin the theater again. And this
movie is a lot of fun.If you if you see it, like

(01:28:02):
one of those extra formats, youknow your seat rumbles with every every fly
by and gunshot or whatever like that. It's really really cool. Go see
it. Take the family giving meeleven twenty five. They deserve it.
They deserve it, or you knowyou're nine bucks. Just see it when
you want to see it. Idon't know price. Just don't sneak in
or boot leg it. Boot legit after you paper, it'll be on

(01:28:24):
Max. Just don't bootleg it.Just wait till it's on Max at that
point, then at least and thenyou need to unsubscribe for Max and recent
scribes, look, it looks likeyou just scraped for it to watch them.
Yes, just there you go.But that does it for us here
with this Blue Beetle review. Butwe will be back on Monday with our
last minute Ahsoka predictions. You know, it's a good time when it's Star

(01:28:46):
Wars predictions and your boy is herebecause we're Mando season three looking at you
with the predictions we went on thatone. I just kick my Destiny habit
and they're having the Destiny showcase ona twenty second. Well, maybe we'll
be talking about that too, Kevin. Maybe I'm talking about it's literally like
drugs. It's a little bit,but this time. Next week we will

(01:29:08):
be doing Asoka episode one and twoin review, so it's gonna be a
good old time for us. Though, talk about almost two hours of Star
Wars content in about an hour,we're getting two, that's right. Hell
yeah, So next Thursday's episode,no news, just Asoka all the time.
Yeah, we get two with menwe did not, but we did
