(00:31):
I feel like when your podcast PETmakes noise is a lot better than what
my podcast PET makes. Well, your podcast Pet doesn't make any noise.
So cat cam, throw it upright now, Kevin, if you so
well, to see if the cat'seven in the cat cam. She's in
the cat cam. Oh, she'slooking right at the cat cam. Look
at back, look at that. There you go, alright, alright,
gets some privacy to the cat.Well, we got it wrong. This

(01:00):
is a Labor Day weekend podcast, baby Ebo. He got a jam pack
show for you because three words,Kevin, and you know them best wan
zoo dude. Heck yeah. Andif you don't know what that is,
don't worry because we're breaking down surfnin juts in the title of the podcast.
It's a nineteen ninety three movie,Kevin's Childhood Podcast. We'll get to

(01:21):
that at the end of the podcast. Got a ton of news because just
when you think Labor Day weekend, normally there wouldn't be news to talk about.
There is like the Starfield review roundup, Taylor Swift dominating the cinemas,
and some of the Marvel shows youwere looking forward to. Yeah, they
probably got punted release statewise at least. Yeah, I wanna got punted that.
I'm pretty sure it's not real atthis point. Well, you didn't

(01:42):
think it was real at the forefrontof when it happened. Now you're not
even even more convinced it's not real. I know it's not happening. I
know it's it's a rumor. Here'shere's say I say. But you can
see everything we're talking about so muchmore by going to Hot ninety nine five
dot com slash Christ his Screw. You can keep it lock to at infinite
Underscore pods on the Instagram or theTwitter. It's always a good time there,

(02:06):
kind of keep you in the knowthat nerdy news you need to know
or keV for them to interact livewhen we record the podcast or on demand
of their own accord. Where shouldthey go? You can go to YouTube
dot com slash if underscore posts towatch us on demand, and you can
scroll back and you can see whatwe talked about only be two or three
years two years ago. Yeah, yeah, you can watch us a live

(02:27):
watch my cat look itself on twitchdot tv. Su I shifted underscore pods.
He went to real nitty griddy, the real nitty gritty. This is
the hard breaking news. Kevin's catstill licking its butt. It is well
she turned her back to the cameranow, Yeah, because because you embarrassed
her. That's why I think it'sit's PG rated now because she's not.
She's now it's uh turning around,it's doing another circle. There you go.

(02:53):
But, like we said, alwaysa good time joining the hashtag crisis
crew. We're just kind of rollingthis momentum of you. When you think
they're is news, there is news. And that's why it's a good It's
a good time to be a nerdbecause no matter where you go, you're
gonna find something fun. Yes,especially if you go to a store to
get buy some Disney cards. We'lltalk about that, yes, and in
near second. But I just wantedto shout out this out. JV Perry

(03:15):
and the chat said Echoes is justa placeholder for Blue Marvel. Kevin just
said, yes, I think Kevin'sI think correct, Aaron Giles checking any
while on that Arkham Origin's grind. Are you playing on Switch? And if
you are playing the Switch version?Does it look good? If you long
too? Listen to this podcast probablywhat three years ago, maybe three and

(03:38):
a half years ago, before theycanceled Black Lightning. I said on this
show that the reason of canceling BlackLightning is because he's going to be Blue
Marvel. It's still up in theair. I think it's Chris Chriss Williams
hasn't really been in much, verynotable, a lot of Hallmark and you
know those directed movie or Netflix movies. So your theory could hold true.
But we just we got to makesure the mores comes out before we can

(04:00):
get Blue Marvel. If it comestrue, this will be the first time
I'll probably paid a boostar posts likeno no No, I said it first.
It was me. It was me. I have to find the tapes.
I don't know where the tapes are, but I will find them.
No idea what episode it was,but we always start the podcast properly with
what you doing. We talked aboutthe things we've been watching, games,

(04:23):
we've been playing, lives we've beenliving. And because it is technically Monday
of later day weekend, good sir, you get to go first, Kevin,
what have I been doing? I'vebeen doing a lot of scrubs,
watching Okay Reach season five and whata gym on the show? Like,
I don't know why I waited solong to come back to the show.
I used to watch it all thetime, but I got to a funny

(04:45):
episode today. I forgot about this. There was episode with Mandy Moore guests
starred as JD's girlfriend. I feellike Mandy Moore guests started in a lot
of stuff I feel like in thelate two thousands, you know, and
if you get just got our ownshow. Finally, what's a show called
again? Well this is us?Yes, yes, yeah, but she
guest starred and j D was inhis head because he was afraid he's on
screw it up. And she boughther godfather on the calms j D down

(05:11):
and her godfather was Billy dee WaYes, yes, And when Turk's Billy
Squels goes, oh my gosh,Lando cal Reason. I've just been laughing
about it all day because that's exactlyhow I would act and they've just seen.
Later in the episode when I'm tryingto calm j D down again and

(05:32):
Billy Dee comes, hey, heyman, you gotta be cool, and
Turkos Lando was right. He goesBilly d and his mouth's Lando like,
That's just what I would do,but not be Bill to be in my
presence. You are Lando Calvision forever. Other than that, I have been
I haven't playing much games this weekbecause I just don't know. I've been

(05:55):
in a row like heavy watching stuff. Also, I watched Payback last night
and thoughts on the w W payper view that feels or sorry premium live
event that kind of came out ofnowhere as well if a W and all
that other stuff that's going on.Second, it was a good event.
It was good. It was agood It was a lot of energy in
the arena for that one. Itwas actually pretty a pretty good show to
watch on The best match the nightprobably was the street fight between Kevin Owens

(06:19):
and Judgment Day was Damian Priests andFinn and Finn Balor. Really really good
match. Damian Priest and Finn Balorgot w now the tag team champions.
So now Judgment Day has all thegoals, three bird rule two babies.
You know that's what's gonna happen exactly. So they have tag team championships for
both shows, the Women's World HeavyweightChampionship, and then they have the North

(06:39):
American Championship from n next so theyhave gold everywhere. To my surmise,
Seth Rolands Beach since kid Nakamura andI don't know, I feel like I
asked you this question too, andyou listening. Is this what it felt
like for older wrestling fans to watchJohn Cena went all the time back in
the day. Because I'm I'm notlike over it, I really am over

(07:03):
I'm just like because the way theway he won last night was such a
fart in the wind. It wasn'tlike it was a cool bunch of reversals,
but just like up stop, nobuild to that, he didn't do
to that, he didn't earn that. I don't know. It just left
me feeling on wanting more. Butbig news was and now hoodie send this
to me for I even suck andI was what I was driving at the
time. I look at my phonethat see him. Punk got fired.

(07:26):
He has been terminated with cause, which is the first time I've seen those
words from aw so the rumor railis already starting for WrestleMania forty just saying
and it's like when you see that, it wasn't you know, mutually benefit
benefited, just just just you know, to go up. Except the ways
it wasn't. He's going to otherendeavors like no terminated with cause because he

(07:48):
messed up and we let him go. Yeah, now there's a bunch of
other stuff that's kind of us doingquick summation on it. But it's funny
is that Tony Kahn, who's theCEO of a W and the president pretty
much came out. They're in Chicagothis week, mind you, which is
a horrible time to drop that newsbecause see him, punks from that town
came out on the stage. Ithink it was earlier this week or whenever

(08:09):
it was, and got bood outof the building. Was okay, I
just wanted to get this out ofthe way and I enjoy the show.
So which is I mean, it'ssuch like I'm I'm a big wrestling nerd
slash wrestling history guy, and theway he's running running that operation is not
the way you run a company's tryingto running as a fan and as a

(08:33):
business person. Business person exactly,Vince McMahon. I mean, say all
you want to think about him. When he screwed BRT hard, he stood
up, took the punch. Guysspit in the face, but everybody knew
that he was the one in charge. I feel like those guys think he
just gotta cust to checks. Soyeah, badgers are quick summery on that,
but anything else keV other than that. Again, like I said,

(08:54):
watching Payback, I'm getting really excitedfor us in my hand next year,
Like it's gonna be fun. Man, it's a fun time. You made
good old time. Now now I'mthinking that maybe you brother display a Sammy
Zan and Ko. We could,But we're also doing Hood World Order,
remember, so we gotta there's twonice. That's two nice. That's true
because I apparently at Payback they hadPittsburgh World Order T shirts, so we

(09:18):
know somewhere we can get it doneat least. Also, shout out to
Finnbelli stopping stopping a terrible tail whilewe're in purple and black. That was
awesome for me. But other thanthat, what have you been doing?
Buddy? Yeah, So shout outalso to any Jogan. She was surprised
with the Spider Man two PlayStation, the exclusive one that's got the venom on
it we talked about a couple ofmonths ago. Really dope. Her brother

(09:39):
surprised her with it, so goodbrother on her end because all that dropped
on for a lot of stuff cameout this week. That dropped on Friday.
More of the console skins or coverscame out as well, the controllers.
All that came out this week. But on top of that Disney Lord
con so Casey didn't miss and luckilywe did a deep dive on it on

(10:05):
last week's podcast, knowing what wouldbe to come within forty eight hours of
that podcast releasing. Lord Kana iskind of the magic the Gathering card game
for a Disney Ravens Burger is thepublisher. They make a lot of board
games. This is kind of theirfirst attempt in trading cards. Mind you,
there's a lot of card games,so that's the differentiation between trading card

(10:26):
and card game. But this ishwent crazy on Friday. Draw apparently big
like your local mom and pop hobbystores, like our Tossi Stations, our
Third Eye Comics. They've had themfor a couple of weeks, but they
went online and to your mass retailstores, and let me tell you,
I almost got stampeded by people justpicking up these two packs from Barton's and

(10:50):
Noble by my house. So Iwant to ask you, what was it
like when Charlie found the Golden Ticketand You're like, run home. Yeah,
so that's the thing. So Iwent to I knew that the Barns
of Noble near my house would havethem, and I was like, well,
everyone's gonna go to the game stop, but no one would go to
the Barnes and Noble thinking they hadcards. By the way, Barnes and
Noble very good card selection because therewas other people coming in there for Pokemon

(11:13):
cards and they have all that behindthe counter, so everyone there's like a
lot of people in the front ofthe store and not in the back of
the store. But when in theyobviously had a two limit, two pac
limit person, which was great.I think that's what you gotta do when
you release these things, whether it'stoys, card games, or video game
anything like that. Because I heardsome walmarts and targets literally the like cards

(11:37):
Stoker person whoever comes in overnight wasbombarded immediately from those like twenty four hour
walmarts, and the stock was immediatelytaken. So do it like Barnes and
Noble. It'll be it'll be alittle bit fair, you know. I
meant those poor cashiers that probably like, I don't even know where this stuff
is, no so and so that'sthe thing. I was in line.
It was just me at first, and then the went to the cashier.

(12:01):
She said, oh, yeah, here's the there's what we have left.
There's a bunch of deck boxes.Mind you. I'll tell you about that
later. With there was like specialboxes, all that stuff. We've seen
these all the times with card games, especially with Pokemon kind of was the
uprising during the pandemic. We're stillriding that high, which is cool to
be part of that high of liketrading card boom again. But she took
a phone calls like, oh,yes, we have two packs in stock,

(12:24):
and I'm assuming that might have beenthe people that stampeded me. I
was, as always enter exiting thedouble doors of Barnes and Noble because I
didn't ask for a bag. Iwas like, I don't need a bag.
I'm right right by house. AndI had these like we have lor
Kana. They have them, likeyeah, they're in the thing and they're
like get out of our way.Now. Were these Disney adults or children?
It was a family, young family, so the parents are probably late

(12:50):
thirties maybe maybe, and then kidswere like eight, nine, ten something
like that. The adults kids willplay games, yeah, but they got
the kids involved or whatever. Soit's lucky to get these. The whole
thing with them is apparently you know, it's Disney magic the gathering, but
people are reselling them up out thewazoos. These are supposed to cost like
five bucks, people are selling themfor twenty bucks online. Well there's the

(13:16):
way to punch your winning got tworight here. So I'm probably gonna do
a little unboxing or uncarting video onthat at Andrew Hoodie on TikTok later this
week when we have a little time, so I'll be interesting. But the
cool thing was follow our fall friendof the podcast at Warrio sixty four.
Turn them notifications on because your boypre ordered the three deck boxes that also

(13:37):
came out, so those should becoming sometime this week. What's sure that
Warre sixty four is like a groupof people, not just one person.
It has to be. There's noway because there's like maybe I think I've
found the window. It's like fromten am to twelve pm there's nothing posted
from Warrios sixty four, and Iwas like, that's the rest time for
Warrio sixty four. I wake upand it's like, well, I was

(13:58):
asleep for the last eight hours.Whom were you doing discouring the internet?
But yeah, I mean the coolthing was it's the hunt of the cards.
But obviously there you can't buy themanywhere now because they had the one
day and they're gone now, whichis why Ravensburger the people are making the
game. They're rereleasing the cards inOctober. They already announced their second wave
of new cards coming out in November, so be prepared. If you're expecting,

(14:24):
Oh your kids want those for Christmas, get them now? Sign up
sixty four notifications. Do you knowif they sell special ones at like Downtown
Disney Disney Springs. So they soldthe cards at Downtown Disney. They've pretty
much sold the same thing everywhere. But it's the same thing as Pokemon cards.
There are like foils, there arerare cards. I think the rare

(14:46):
one I've seen because my TikTok hasbeen flooded by it. Now elsa there's
like a rare foiled version of anAlsa card. Everyone's claiming is the chars
Ard card over lord? And howlong do you think until the Locana digital
game like Marvel Snap. Well,so there's a companion app already. I
was like, oh wow, Andapparently people have already making like dupes online
like apps already, so you knowthose are gonna get taken down within a

(15:09):
week. I don't know. Ifeel like they're probably gonna push physical first
and then maybe after like a year, push here's the digital game, because
you know they want people to buythings and not download it for free.
Yeah, you got to go youwant well, unce you charge them for
a card? Yeah? Which MarvelSnap you know you had Hartstone like that?
Yeah? Because I'm pretty sure Iwould love to know how much money

(15:31):
like mobile gaming mix a year asan industry. Because you pressed that buttons,
nothing happens. It just keep onliving life. It's not like you
feel that. Imagine a million peopledoing that, you know what I mean?
Mobile gaming revenue in twenty twenty twowas ninety one point eight billion dollars
in us. What let's create somekind of simple Flappy Bird equivalent. We

(15:54):
could be raking it in right nowexactly. We could be raking it in
right now, and then we takeit off the store, and then people
want the game even more. Youknow, we can open up our own
studio, Crisis Studios, and wecan have we can have you know,
I will saything mean I'm gonna doanymore, but yeah, so expect content

(16:15):
and Andrew Hoodie with these cards. There'll be more cards. We'll figure it
out. Maybe we'll give Kevin sumso he and his daughter can play.
But that's Lacana hype that's going onright now. In other words of Hoodie's
terms, this weekend had my engagementphoto shoot this weekend. That's actually the
more important thing. So so thatyou chose to Lakara the first, so
that was the first store I gotyou. But yeah, engaged and shoot

(16:37):
was good. We met our photographer, our wedding photographer for the first time
in person, which is also good. And uh yeah, we're supposed to
be getting photos hopefully tomorrow we're previewsor whatever that is, and then we'll
see. So it was like allday, all day, it was like
through two hours ish. Yeah,I included an outfit change, so it
was good and uh hoping they turnedout. Well, that's the thing.

(17:00):
We're like. We saw one photothat she showed us, but the rest
we'll find out. I don't know. I have no idea where our getting
photos are because he did it digitally. We've got a CD, and if
I knew what that SCD was,I'd be a millionaire. I have no
idea where where to begin to lookfor that. But yeah, otherwise,

(17:21):
good weekend in the hood, Skellyhousehold and just kind of going through the
comments if we're getting in the news. Javy Perry says, bring back midnight
releases. They kind of hit different. They could put codes on them like
you Geo back in the day withthese cards. I think that's cool.
I think I think Digimon has donethat too. Or it's like, oh,
if you got that, you couldscan it and you get like in
the game something with it. Somethinglike that too. My last midnight release

(17:45):
that I went out for was GrandfaPhoto four Batman Arkham Night was my last
one. Yes, this is kidswould never know about the midnight release.
Man, remember movies. It waslike a scene. Man, they hit,
They hit, and it was great. And even when Harry Jabe parton
chat said for Harry Potter of thebook, definitely hollows. There was midnight
release a Partns and Nobles that ishwas wild. You want to talk about

(18:07):
midnight release for a book. Iremember because I wasn't in the Harry Potter
when I came out and I gota copy of it, and I read
like the last chapter and held overone of my friends, like, if
you'd miss me today once, I'mgonna tell you everything. Well, I
remember, like we had my familywhenever it came out. My family had
like a road trip, and Imade them stopped by Barnes and Noble first,

(18:30):
properly before we got on the highwayso we could pick up the book
so I could read it in thelike five hour car ride. I mean,
that's just smart parenting. I won'tkeep Putty quiet, get his ride,
his game boys dead, we don'thave any batteries. Just get him
the damn book. For thirty years, I couldn't charge it. But while

(18:51):
we reminisced, let's get on thestuff that's happening right now. Let's talk
about it. It's time for thenews it's time. No no, no,
no, no no news. Sofirst thanks, First, thanks for
release. We have to talk aboutstar Field because if you pre ordered the
Deluxe or Constellation Edition or got areview code, you've probably been playing it.

(19:15):
Or if you're on game Pass oryou're pre ordering the standard edition like
we have and we are, you'llbe playing it come Tuesday, Wednesday,
Tuesday at night, or if yougot a job, probably Wednesday. Let's
face it, hobnout. You haveone of those jobs where you're like,
go to work really late and weplayed a couple of hours and go or
go to work really early and youcan watch a whole entire movie and no

(19:37):
one will catch you, right,Kevin, yep, those are the days?
What who we know? And didthat? What are you talking about?
So we're kind of going through.Obviously I drafted it for a fantasy
gaming league. As of right now, Starfield has let's see, do you
an eighty eight on open Critic whichwill net me about eighteen points. Obviously
they'll probably change when it's released foreverybody, they'll probably go down a little

(20:03):
bit, I'm assuming, But whatare the critics saying, Kevin about Starfield?
Then we'll kind of share what we'vesurmised from everyone's thought. Let's see
here, I'm scrolling down game spotseven out of ten. When you stripped
Starfield down to its essentials, itrelies on a tried and true on a
tried and true but well tread formulaare missing some of the depths of games

(20:25):
come before it. Starfield is agame more concerned with quality quantity than quality,
and leaves the experience at surface level. BGC gave it a five out
of five. Starfield is undoubtedly andexperienced that players will stick with four years
to come, and is content richin a way that is rare and modern
in gaming. Rare and modern gaming. It exactly experienced the exactly experience that
people who have been hovering around differentresins guarnment want it. It doesn't truly

(20:48):
reinvent the wheel with its mechanics, but almost does everything. So well,
let's see him. It's going downa little more. See games Radar five
out of five PC. I'm wantat this PC game? Uh piece game
about one hundred igen seven out often. Starfield has a lot of forces
working against it, but eventually theallure of its expansive role playing quests and

(21:11):
respectable comment, making a gravitational pooldifficult to resist. I really dove into
the reviews of this game was afront Thursday or front. Yeah, I
mean that the game dropped last thispast Friday, so people have been playing
it this weekend, mainly people havethe money to play it and streamers,
but reviewing Barker's dropped Thursday, Ithink afternoon after the podcast released for us,

(21:33):
So yeah, so I dove first. First review I gove into was
kind of funny because they do agreat job of like looking at games in
five very different ways and five differentopinions. That's kind of the one that
I kind of stuck with me alittle bit because I think Paris loved it,
Greg loved it, Blessing kind ofliked it. But what the because

(21:56):
as I've been hearing it, basicallyit's I kind of all over the place
that is really really good. Buttheir plus their parts where it needs polish,
Yeah, that make it not asgreat as it could be. So
it's not it's not a goat, but it's it could be there maybe after
a year. And this is whatwe kind of talked about, I think
on Monday's episode last week, asort of our like final thoughts before Starfield
came out was that thinking, Oh, if it's just a Bethesda game and

(22:19):
it stays in that Bethesda model, that's just how they make their games,
So take it or leave it.If you like Bethesda games before bethese the
studios, you'll either hate or likethis game instead. I think the other
thing is a lot of people I'veseen have been complaining or liking the option
that really you find the story andthat once you find things, sometimes it'll

(22:41):
hook you and sometimes it won't.I'm kind of cool with that because I
always go back to this game becauseit's one of my favorite games in the
past two years. Assassin's Creed Odysseywas a lot like that. There was
a main storyline you could follow abouteither Cassandro Alexios and their sister or their
brother, and the revenge quests toknow find where they are and kill the

(23:02):
I can remember the name of theancient order of people that cruel. But
there was so many sad missions. There were so many side missions like wait
a second, why am I inthis town again? This isn't the mission
I need to be doing right now. There's a sad mission that involved like
you know, freeing captured people froma village I got to run over.
There were just missions about getting revengeon a scorn lover. There was so

(23:26):
many sab missions. They were verythey weren't long, but they're very They're
very in depth, so you wouldnot get lost, And that's kind of
what I want from this game.I want to get lost in the game.
Yeah, And I think I've seena lot of people saying that,
you know, play the main storyprimarily first, and then do the side
stuff, because that's what's going tomake you fall in love with the game,

(23:47):
is the side stuff. And Ithink that's the cool thing with it
is that like you can kind ofchoose what you want to do and that's
kind of who you are. Likeobviously there's traits and you become certain personalities,
certain groups you become part of.But I've seen like there's a mission
where you're essentially Space Batman, andlike so like a lot of people get
hooked into it because like I'm SpaceBatman, That's who I am. Now,

(24:07):
you know, a space pirate.I'm just gonna raid ship this entire
time. My identity, I identifya space Batman. That's what I'm looking
forward to I wanted a game whereI mean, maybe I don't get the
goal from space to play it seamlessly. Maybe it's a cussing. That's fine,
that it was cussing the mass affect. That was my little bit,
you know what I mean. Wedid see in Star Wars Outlaw that it's

(24:30):
more seamless, but I'm thinking startthat game maybe more like Jedi Survivor where
they're set amount of planet so youcan spend time in that development. So
I mean, speaking of mass effect, and obviously we'll talk about this once
we've both played it a little bitmore, but do you feel like this
game is being talked about kind ofhow mass affecting Drameda was being talked about
because it is God's story, gota main mission, but it's more open

(24:52):
world and that kind of was whatwith the down the detriment of mass affect
and Drama at least a bit ofa detriment for in Drama was that it
was like, all right, you'rein this open planet, but it's mostly
just desert and go to the waypoint and that's it. I think it's
getting a little bit more praise thanand DRAMAA was kind of like the graphics
was standing. That was the mainissue too for a drama. It was

(25:15):
that and also not only were thegraphics kind of blast for that generation,
but it was also like, youcould have released this game five years ago
and it's been the same game. But speaking of a mass Effect though,
my nephew who has played this game, he actually did play for the early
releases. It's someone it's a wonderwhich you can pay for when you don't
have kids and living home, butor rent that goes up every month exactly.

(25:37):
But he actually said that if youare a big fan of Mass Effect,
you're gonna love this game because it'sliterally Mass Effect but open world.
That's why, that's why you describedit as which I'm like, oh yeah,
I'm don Let's do it now,Kevin. So we're gonna share what
our characters look like and what theyare when we get the game. So
hopefully by Thursday's episode, when thatcomes out, you'll be able to see
that are you trying to go forthis is Kevin in Space or you're gonna

(26:00):
make a whole new like this isKevin Mancho, you know, and Kevin
Macho is Space Pirate and Space orwhatever. Real I think I'm just because
I always sam Onto stuff like that. But then I'm making myself anyway.
I'm like, well, doesn't there'sme again? And I'm not hard to
make it the game because I'm justa bold black guy with you know,
it's every time. I don't reallyhave to work that hard, you know,

(26:21):
unless you're a w W two Kwhere it's Andrew Wood instead of Hood.
Push put Hood in the game. There's Hood in all your two K
basketball games. It doesn't make senseHood. Okay, great, just turn
that off. I don't care.Yeah, I'll probably tweak, tweak,
tweak it as you get again watchingthe kind of funny rebut to say you
kind of get a second run through, I have created character after you get

(26:42):
through so much to the game,so I might tweak it a little bit,
but it won't be as crazy asI did. What I didn't sober
Pump because I don't think I canactually show that on TV. That was
crazy. You can't show any ofthat character creator on TV. So oh
no, no, no, no, that was a decision made by somebody.
They know what leave that Ball's Gatethree. Can't show those character creators.

(27:03):
But yeah, so it's out nowif you have everly access. Obviously
we're gonna be into it. We'regonna play it. I mean, that's
gonna be probably our September game forfor a hot minute until you know,
Mortal Kombat one comes out, atleast when we were watching the story of
that game. But it's it's gonnabe exciting. It's dope to have a
game that everyone's talking about again. You know, we've had it with Nintendo.
We've constantly had it with PlayStation. We'll have a game with PlayStation with

(27:26):
Spider Man in a couple of months. But it's good, you know,
the Xbox at least get one,you know where everyone's talking about it.
And plus I feel like this gameunlike Spider Man, where I feel bad
for you for Spider Man hoodie becauseI want to be brother with your brother.
That game's gonna get spoiled for youand how hard you dodge, it's

(27:47):
gonna be spoiled, and I feelbad for you. That's Spider Man almost
is almost MCU slash Big Movie.Yes, where like I gotta pick this
game soon so I don't get spoised. Well, I mean that's the thing.
Like oddly enough, like I stillhaven't been spoiled the ending for Zelda,
for Breath of the Wild or forTears of the Kingdom. Mind you,
now that we're saying it, myphone is listening. I'm gonna get
it, siling now he knows whatthe dragon is really TikTok. It just

(28:15):
really depends. Like if it isusually like you're looking into it, you'll
get it. The fun fact I'velearned on TikTok is if you want it
to stop listening to, you clearyour search history. So say, like
I looked up lor Kana and mysearch bar has Lorkana as my most recent
search. It's gonna keep giving meLorkana videos. I keep getting makeup videos
because my daughter. I can't getit. I'm damn it. I don't

(28:36):
care about this woman doing her makeup. But that's a video game that's out
right now. But let's talk aboutthe future of video games, because hey,
guess what you know about that sagAfter Strike and the Rider Strike that's
coming to video games probably later thismonth. Yeah, this is this is
surprising because I thought that you didn'tneed to be in a union tou to

(29:00):
voice the video game. So itdepends. So here's the thing. I'll
put it out of the way.I'm in sag After because of the radio
morning show job. So I'm justgonna let that out on the horizon right
now. Kind of not like superinvolved with this side of it because we're
kind of our own thing, butessentially depends on the video game studio and

(29:21):
depends on if the voice actors haveunionized they're not kind of because we're seeing
that now with video game writers andyou know, animators, we're seeing that
now too. It kind of dependsthey have to fight for it, which
is what this is part of.Also, I also this is a horrible
joke to make because I like peoplestrike gets what you need sag After.
I understand that, but I feellike as far as the video GME industry,

(29:44):
it's only going to affect like fifteenvoice artist because fifteen people voice all
the games. Yeah. Well, and so the cool thing with this is
that it's not just the voice actors, it's also the motion capture artists too.
That's different. That's that's big.That's really big there. Yeah,
so kind of is reading off whatI Gen has said just to kind of
give you them for your need.Sag afters Alliance of motion picture and television

(30:07):
producers. Is that's what they've beentricking against their now seeking a second strike
that would go against major video gamecompanies for how they treat the performers.
According to Variety, it said thatsag After is a seek negotiations sort of
new video game contract that's reached astalemate, and that a strike would be
the next best thing to win wageincreases in protection from AI, which makes

(30:27):
sense what we've talked about this entiresummer. According to the contract it has,
Sagash has an agreement right now withActivision EA, Insomniac, Epic Games,
w B Games, and other studios. Is supposed to expire November seventh,
but the two parties have agreed.Oh sorry, you're supposed to expire

(30:48):
last year, but they agreed toextend it to this month, September twenty
six. They're sag after seeking forraises protections against AI. Obviously, nothing's
been agreed to the This is kindof behind the scenes, but I was
given sent a vote to authorize thestrike, so and a lot of people
been doing that too, whether're insectafter or not. So get ready.

(31:10):
They won't affect games now maybe, but it will affect games in the future,
probably in the next two years mostlikely. Oh well, it's just
I feel like again it's a symptomof these large corporations kicking things down the
road. I'll deal it, doit later. This is this was an
issue a year ago because yeah, but then you chose to let it go

(31:32):
this far, and now you're reapingwhat you sew because nobody saw blue beetle
and then this happens. I feellike this. Video games make far more
money than the TV, so thiscould actually cripple out a lot of them,
actual like stock traded industries. Andmind you, you know this is
kind of be a little different promotionalwise, because you know, we insiders
and you the hashtat crisis crew novideo game voice actors like a Nola North

(31:55):
or Troy Baker or Ashley Johnson. But to the common person, they're buying
a video game because it's a character, you know, Avengers, it's Thor,
it's not you know, someone playingThor. Same thing with Call of
Duty. A lot of kind ofup and coming actors kind of do a
Call of Duty game and then they'reon the rise of something that really won't
affect the game's promotion, but moreso the game's being made, and so

(32:20):
that'll be interesting to see where wego. Whereas I'm saying like two years
from now, Call of Duty ten, that's not ten, but whatever that
might be on the back Bernard, because they couldn't get actors in time to
voice scenes or mo cap or anythinglike that. And this is big for
a lot of like you know, single player narrative diving games too, because
i mean, Last of Us.Part of the reason why it's so good

(32:43):
it's because of the voice act LikeI'm talking about earlier Assassin's Creed, Cassandra's
voice actress was amazing. That's kindof what draws you in. So if
it's just you know, some andI no shade to non uning voice act
I'm sort of go ones out there, but you better find a good one.
But just that's just something to letyou know. Obviously we'll find out

(33:05):
what happens more after Labor Day,you know, when people are back at
work figuring things out like this. But in lieu of that, let's talk
about you know, we've talked aboutthe film industry and movies coming out people
can't promote it, but does thatinclude one Taylor Swift because the Era's Tour
is coming to a movie theater nearyou, and I don't know if it's

(33:29):
sadly or unfortunately, it's crazy.Nonetheless, pre sales for the Arastour film
version have already outsold and become thenumber one pre sold box office ticket of
all time and just passed the ForceAwakens asked me to make seventy million dollars
was first opening weekend. My newthis is for a concert that's already happened

(33:51):
exactly. So the whole thing justgot announced on Friday, I believe for
Thursday Friday something like that. Theaerostore biggest thing this summer. We all
know that in the US, it'sit's going global now, it'll be coming
two theaters. It'll pretty much bethe whole film version of it. I
mean, this is kind of thingmaybe ten years ago where we had Justin

(34:12):
Bieber, Glee, Hannah Montana themovie, like the concert movies of that
era, and they kind of wentaway. This is kind of bringing that
back, but you know, witha big big I mean they were big
back then. But this is thehottest thing right now in pop culture.
But it's gonna be an interesting time, tickets apparently selling out everywhere because there

(34:34):
is limited engagements of the of themovie actually playing. Tickets for adults were
nineteen dollars and eighty nine cents thealbum, or for kids, it was
thirteen thirteen, because that's our TaylorSwift's lucky number. At that you can
buy a popcorn bucket, you canbuy a collectible cup, just like any
of our other favorite movies that comeout. So I've only been to one

(34:57):
Taylor Swift concert. You were performedat NAT's Park like ten years ago.
Whoever, that was lucky. Idon't think yes, you started. I
didn't start started the week after thatconcert, damn it. I will never
understand why people pay to go seeconcerts that already happened in the theater.
It's that's just me. Maybe it'smy dad brain doesn't make sense to me.

(35:20):
But let me ask you this though, because here you're in the industry.
What has been the bigger tortois yearher? Beyonce? Oh, Taylor
Swift, easily, It's okay, every other weekend. That's almost on my
Twitter feed, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, now mind now, mind you.
Beyonce locally came to FedExField. TaylorSwift did not come to any of this
area of Pittsburgh. I think wasthe closest thing, you know, Annie

(35:43):
Jogan said, not gonna lie.I'm tempted to watch it. I'm tempted
to watch it too, because forthis area specifically, this is how you
can watch and enjoy the era's tour, you know, for just specifically.
Now I'm thinking nationally, parents whocould not afford a thousand dollars to go
see Taylor Swift with their kids,Yeah, you can take their kids to
go see it in the theaters.Same thing, whether you want to rewatch

(36:05):
it as a fan, because yougot to see it, but you had
cheap ass seats so everything was tiny. Now you can see what Taylor Swift
actually looked like, you know,Jimmy Perry and Chest said, Syphy's a
terrifying to Perry, I want topaint a picture for you. It's like
Coustin. I went to imagine goingdown on the DC Metro and way do
you want to stop a train stopwith seventeen thousand different looking Taylor Swifts exactly,

(36:27):
And when the train stops and getsoff, they're twenty five Taylor Swifts
trust me, you're right, Somind you. You know it comes out
October thirteenth, five nights at Freddiecomes out around the same time. Injiously
enough, The Exorcist Believer. Youknow that trailer that was like fifteen twenty
seconds long in front of Oppenheimer wassupposed to come out that day too.

(36:50):
Blumhouse has officially punted it. Theyput liquid you made me do We pushed
it a week earlier because they knewthere's no way they're going to compete against
it. Do you thought Barbie ManiaBarbeheimer was wild? This is gonna be
three times that. There's gonna thetheaters are gonna be packed as hell again.
And this movie doesn't even need anymore promotion from Taylor Swift besides the

(37:12):
one announcement trailer. I'm kind ofhoping this movie makes it like at least
a half a half a billion dollarslike the theater and like movie period.
They just shoudn't make no more.Is that this like originally was touted like
when it was announced, was toutedkind of looking like a Fathom events,
like only like three showings a dayfor the next three weeks, but they're

(37:35):
easily after this week after all thepre sales you know of Labor Day weekend
are gonna make it like in everytheater, taking up every time slot to
watch it. It's gonna I don'tthink I'm don't I don't think I'm planning
to go to the theater that weekend. But maybe I'll drive that month.
Now you're gonna just avoid it.Now I'll drive by it maybe, I

(37:57):
like around seventh like Park looks like, oh my god, everybody's gonna see
swift Yeah. And the interesting thingis she in other Swifties have mainly been
telling like you were gonna bring thefriendship bracelets, We're gonna dress up kind
of how people have been dressing upfor the Errors tour. So it's gonna
be wild. I wanted to talkabout it because this is theater news.
Jab Perry put it best. First, she saved the economy of many of

(38:19):
the towns she visited. Now she'ssaving the theaters aka the cinema. Will
you be taking more to see this? Moore does not want to see it,
but her sister, who is aSwifties, she flew to Chicago to
go see the Errors tour. Itexted her. I was like, so
you, Me and Moore are gonnago watch it, right mind you the
last movie the three of us alltogether with Spider Man No Way Home.

(38:40):
So but I mean three years later, who would have thought we're gonna go
see a movie that's funny. Godbless Taylor Swifts. That's all I can
say. You know, it isthe year of Taylor Swift. As much
as you want to avoid it,it is so as factual. That is
the fact. That's the logic. It is her year. Even he to

(39:00):
get off the way, she'll knowyou down. Also fun fact nineteen eighty
nine, the re release Taylor's versioncomes out a week after the movie comes
out, So avoid your targets aswell, because that's where it's gonna be.
Doesn't have to work anymore. Shecan just stop. Oh, I
know, she's made one point ninebillion just from this year. So and
I'm not. I know, Ididn't mean to stork to Its pretty cool

(39:22):
that she gave all the truckers andour tour like one hundred thousand a bonus.
Where can we work as temporary workersfor? I know, I got
my Class A license tomorrow. I'mjust driving Taylor Swift. I'm not driving
any of the truck. No,but I'm already seen it now. Imagine
because we well we saw this allthe time before the strike, actors showing
up to random cinemas to be like, Oh, I'm so glad you're seeing
my theater. If she does thiseven once, how many more Swift these

(39:46):
are gonna have pop up? Justto thinking, Oh, maybe she'll show
up this week my theater. That'dbe a good FanDuel thing. What theater
will Taylor Swift show up at theweekend? Will it be Nashville? It
would be Veiga, it will beLa. My money's on Nashville. My
money's on La. Probably, whatwould be some some some like you know,

(40:07):
small town Kansas City Boys, Idaho, something like that. But the
go from Taylor Swift one mega iconto a mega studio, Marvel Studios.
We have to talk about that.Marvel is punting the release dates of a
lot of shows that we thought weregonna come out this year. Yeah,

(40:30):
I'm still of the opinion that onedoesn't exist, which we'll talk about.
We'll talk about immediately because that's thefirst one that was punted. Now,
mind you, Loki's still coming outin October. The Marvels are still coming
out in November, so those aregood. But you know that show Kevin
thinks doesn't exist. Echo, Yeah, that got punted from November twenty twenty

(40:51):
three to January twenty twenty four.I still gonna waste all the ones at
once because that was what they said. There's no word on that. That
was kind of the thing of like, oh, it's your Thanksgiving break,
go watch them all. So nowthey punted the January I would think assume
they would do weekly now you know, I hope not because that still sucks
like everybody says it does. Ontop of that, we found out the

(41:15):
Agatha series, which has been kyledHassa Harkness covering a Chaos. As of
right now it might be called theDark Hole Diaries, which is interesting.
That's been pushed back to Fall twentytwenty four. That one makes sense to
Halloween show, so mag come outaround Halloween. Make that start? Shoot?
What what what's the first? Uh? The first Tuesday of October next
year or Wednesday October two? Ithink he saw October two and run through

(41:38):
Halloween. I love it like that. Please. On top of that,
Daredevil Born Again has been indefinitely delayed. No release date. Interesting because as
far as I knew, I thoughtit was done filming. I think no,
they didn't finish, because they actuallywere picking that show production a few

(41:59):
times times actually over the past coupleof months, So I don't think that's
done, feeling, but the otherother things thing is I'm trying to pull
up. So Daredevil's Season three cameout twenty eighteen, so I hope you
will still come back to the showbecause it's been a long time. It's
been a long long time. That'salmost what six years three twenty four,

(42:24):
twenty five maybe so seventy years inbetween. That's a long time. They've
been put him in something else inbetween there and end to keep people like
is around, so you know, yeah, uh. Interestingly enough, it
looks like what if season two hasbeen pushed up that that might be coming
out around Christmas. Cool. We'vekind of thought about what if it's kind

(42:45):
of its own thing, So that'skind of just giving you something to eat
on before it comes out. XMen ninety seven has also been delayed until
early twenty twenty four. This iscool. Interesting more than I actually went
to the Spirit Halloween near us,they have released already it's open already.
It's September, mind you. Theyhave X Men ninety seven inspired costumes that
have Marvel Studios. Is is xMen ninety seven and it's like Wolverine,

(43:09):
Gambit rogue. I think Storm werethe costumes. What about a gambit because
the costom coming to come with thepole staff. No, Paul, it
comes with that like little black coverup thing around his face, like his
neck or whatever, which is cool. I guess I wanted the staff.
That's okay. But yeah, soa lot of the shows have been pushed.
This is mostly in due to thesag after strike. Makes sense.

(43:31):
Don't have your actors promoting the show. There's no late night talk TV shows.
We've talked about this before, sowhy not pushing back if you can,
especially when you know you'll have LokiWant the Marvels of November and then
now an animated show coming out inDecember. Yeah, it makes a lot
of sense. I just hope thatthis writer's taft stuff is solved soon.

(43:53):
The at this point it's just laughable, Like you have more than enough money
to pay these people. Just payhim. I don't don't. I don't
understand why it's so it's such sucha thing like just pay him, you
have it, just do it,do it man. Yeah, So it'll
be interesting with that happening. Obviously, we've talked about how the movies kind
of gotten pushed to we're trying tofigure that out too. I think we

(44:16):
I think once this strike ends, not going on, that it will end,
and it'll come to a good endingfor everything that we have. That's
where we have studios. Hopefully it'snot by the time of the next comic
con, but like, all right, here's the Marvel Presents, here's what's
coming out. Here's the new timeline, because you can pretty much kiss the
timeline we had what two years agogoodbye. As of now. Yeah,

(44:39):
I have heard some murmurs that itmay be writers first, writers sooner than
later, and then actor's second.I'm hoping that's true. But like you
said, the timeline is basically Ifeel like between the pandemic and this right
right writers strike. By the way, it's not time because I was you're
all home for you, Why Ididn't we figure it out anyway? Between

(45:02):
the pandemic and the right A strike, I feel like you need mixed to
just extend this phase now because it'sbeen so choppy, and then if you
really want to get serious three two. In the last week movies had nothing
to really to do with the phaseGuardians about the Guardians and Black Panthers about
Wakonda. Now, Quantamania was alittle bit about what was going on,
but it has a whole other phaseof me. She's going with it right

(45:23):
now as well. So I feellike you need maybe you just need to
press reset and the start from scratch. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah,
I mean it'll be interesting obviously, still MCU first and foremost, and
we both have Captain Merrick Shields behindus, so say that as you will.
And I got a guardiansposed right behindme too. Yeah, I'm not.
I'm not one of those people thatstaying like MC was lost it.

(45:45):
How can you lost it when thelibrary is already there? Yeah, I
mean every studio is lost it rightnow. It's just what we are right
now, which is why, Kevin, we go back in time to the
vault, not the Disney vault. We'll say the hashtag Crisis Crew vault,
going from our childhoods to talk aboutmovies on special holidays. You know,
we we did doom. What wasother movie. We did our Star Kid.

(46:08):
We did Star Kid before Blue Beetle. This is the third entry.
We have two more plan for sureafter this. We'll see what goes after
that. But Kevin, let's throwit back to August twentieth, nineteen ninety
three, a good old month beforeI was even born. What movie came

(46:28):
out? A little movie starring awell known Ernie rays Junior you knew him
from your Turtles, called Surf Ninjas. Surf Ninja's I think it was released
what a Tristop pictures, It says, new Line Cinema, A Cinema.
Yeah, this is released by NewLine Cinema. Like I said, I

(46:50):
was twenty ninety three, had asmooth Chris run time of ninety minutes,
thank god, thank god. Sevento be exact. Yeah, directed by
Neil Israel, who was also directednothing. I actually know. He did
Police Academy, did Real Genius inthe Bachelor Party. Okay, so he
does. He did not direct those. He was just in them, so

(47:10):
he was involved with them. Buthe was involved with them. There you
go saying something. Oh he didone episode of Lizzie McGuire. Oh,
he's done a lot of Disney Fillthe future the dog with a blog that
was a recent one Zeke and Luther, so he wrote, look who's talking
to That was the one. Ithink that was the one with the rose
and there you go. So,but continuing, Kevin, sorry, yeah,

(47:35):
this is a movie that, likeI said, it came out in
like ninety three. I don't thinkI saw it to probably like ninety six
or ninety seven or so when Iwas like, you know, so,
I'm still in my Power Rangers staysand this this touched on those Power Rangers
buttons. Man, it does.It does a lot for better, for
worse most of the most of thetime for worse time. It's great.
It's it's great nineties hum. Yes, But so Kevin befo I reusly.

(48:00):
Budget was six point five million dollarsthat made four point nine at the US
box office. Say that as youwill. That's not counting VHS sales though
I'm sure it made it enough tocover from Okay, Because Kevin, what's
your story? What's your connection tothis movie? My main connection was like,
oh crap, that's a goth theTurtles and I wanted to watch it

(48:20):
and that was pretty much all itwas. Also, before we continue,
we're forgetting one factor. Rob Schneideris in this movie. Robab Sneider in
this movie plays a thirty year oldman plays a fifteen year old in high
school and it's glorious. And itis Rob Sneider. We found out before
this podcast in his final season ofSNL. This isn't like young Rob Sneyder.

(48:43):
This is this is mid ten yearsn el Sneer, but it is
it is pre water Boy Stander though, because the water Board wasn't for another
few years. That is true, that is true. But continue, good
Sarah with your history of this movieand also a couple of people to others
movie that I'm familiar with. ToneLakes in this movie what What's you Tall?
Come out before after it doesn't matterbecause I know I saw it a
yeah, I saw that again afterI came out, so I knew him

(49:06):
from this came out after this movie, after this and then also listening Nielsen,
I was I love the Linked Gunmovies when I was a kid,
So everybody I knew was in thismovie. And then I didn't even know
again that name movie will do oneday the last drag. I never heard
of that movie. I have notdo that one again one day too.
Ernie Raised Junior and his father inreci were in the last tracking as well.

(49:29):
I didn't know that until watching itwith my sisters. Oh yeah,
that's the kids from the last rack. I was like, what he's been
acting this law? This is sogood. This was one of those movies
because because where I grew up couldn'tgo outside a lot. But this was
like always on HBO back in theday, especially especially Saturday afternoons, so
like we had digital cable fanfullay,so I could watch it at the saying

(49:50):
twelve o'clock and then wait three hoursand watch it again at HBO West.
So this is one of the moviesthat he hits me right in my nineties
kids funny Bone. I just loveit. Yes, I don't know.
Do you want to go through theplot of this movie or do you just
want to talk and roast of thismovie? We cant just try to talk
through it. We don't need togo through the plot. Here here's the
plot. It's basically the plot. They just two kids, they are just

(50:15):
they are the chap children of kingsand queens. Then the villains gets ransacked
basically kind of like Game of Thrones. Kids get ransacked, they kill the
queen, they kill the king. They got to get the kids out of
there. A couple of years later, the King's I guess the World's world
World World Guard comes and finds thekids because trying to kill the kids.
Later, living in America, ittakes the kids back to the land where

(50:36):
they get it from. They fight, they get the land back. Now
he's a king. That's a plot. Bah, can't we just talk about
how this movie. I'm gonna gothrough some of the beats of that plot
though, because for some points I'mlike why, like what's going on?
Because so Johnny and Adam are thetwo kids teenage surfers. Mindy, this
movie is called Surf Ninjas, andthere's about two see one real scene of

(50:59):
surf in this movie. I wantto say, thirty seconds of solid surfing,
yes, and how many ninjas?About five minutes of ninjas if you
really want to be specific, Well, the bad guys were ninjas. Two.
I guess we're military operation. Idon't know what's the linemen? Yeah,
don't there you go? But thetwo Johnny and Adam, they live

(51:22):
with their dad Mac. Here's thething. Mac owns what like a sub
shop, burger place or something likea beach side food place. Yeah.
Basically, apparently Johnny turned sixteen, this is two weeks before his birthday.
Turns out, Ninjas attack Max BurgerShop. They're defeated by what Kevin said,
Zach, who is the guard whois mysteriously connected to Johnny and Adam.

(51:45):
They also have their friend, Uh, what the hell was his name?
Rob Schneider, Iggy Iggy. Here'sthe thing. Rob Sneider is playing
a typical D com sidekick actor whothe friend is always at their house house
and it is always over and alwaysdoing goofy voices. But Rob sneyders thirty
playing that fifteen year old row inlike a de coop, you know,

(52:07):
and he wasn't like, you know, just turning third. He was he
was silently in the middle of histhirtieth year of life. Like they introduced
him of like, oh someone's inthe house, who's making who's in the
kitchen? And it's like, oh, this old man. No, it's
fifteen year old Niggy aka Rob Snydermaking pancakes for everybody. Rob Snyder with

(52:28):
a close crew cutting red hair.It did not work. H turns out
also that to Zach is protecting theteenagers and Niggy from the ninjas. Adam,
who's the younger of the two, discovers that the video game on his
game gear Sega game gear, whichmind you see, Sega bought money paid

(52:49):
for this movie to be produced, because it produced, not it promoted the
game gear. There also was aSurf nin Just video game that was separate
from the Surf Ninja video game thatwas featured in this movie. I don't
never get the game game. Mustachhave had one. That thing took six
double A batteries and last batter partprobably last is a good I don't know.
Forty five minutes two an hour thatthings eighties. Fun fact is the

(53:14):
movie almost had a game Boy instead, but because it didn't have color at
the time, looking at you, game Boy color, the new line decided
to go off Sega instead. Andwho would have thought, you know,
if game Boy and Nintendo did thismovie instead. Sad part is that's probably
a few listeners listening to the show. I didn't know that Sega once made
systems and games that weren't Sonic, you know, such like Kevin said,

(53:39):
Zach reveals the Johnny An they're thesons of the King of Patussan, this
fictional country. There's a lot ofstuff quote on there. We'll get there
in the movie. Eventually we doget sort of a throwback, not throwback,
but a flashback scene of what happenedthe Uprising where Leslie Nielsen's Colonel chi
Oh he's a white man, yeah, warlord taking over an Asian country.

(54:05):
This is a movie. I don'tknow, but Leslie Nielsen is in a
different movie than the rest of thismovie. He thinks he is in a
naked gun movie. There is apun throughout this movie if he never is
in time to answer the answering machine. It's funny, but it's like,
that's not in this This should notbe in the He's the villain. Why
is that happening to him in thismovie? Why is he in charge of

(54:29):
this invading force? But so hekills you know, Jarning Adam's parents and
Mac who Johnny Adam? This entiretime, I thought, is that is
their real dad? Uh, he'sactually not. Just a friend of the
palace and to rescue, to helprescue the kids from zatch, Mac shows

(54:50):
up in a T shirt to thisroyal palace. Is I'll get the kids
out of here, and Mac looksso out of place of this play in
this country. Only I could thinkof is maybe he was like a CI
agent in charge of watching over thisarea of the world and saw an injustice
and know what I'm gonna help youknow, But this is a typical eighties
looking man who's like I drink MillerLite in supporting NASCAR, But I also

(55:16):
have a friend of Brutas I gethome quick daal Hart's racing, I don't
know if it'll be his last lapone more time, you know what I'm
saying. Bye? All right, let's throwback. Obviously, they fight a
bunch of ninjas. They eventually goto Little Patusan, which obviously is a

(55:37):
real place in la and they goto a restaurant called the Imperial Palace,
which it's not good as well either. Hold up the best part of the
movie. I forgot about uh whenthey called him Satch in the movie Any
Races Junior and see her his fatherwhen he got came there there a second

(55:57):
time to get him out of thehouse. When Nis came back again,
out him out and he turned toguess on left a Kimmel on. They're
probably like maybe forty nin in thehouse, Ye in the house blew up.
He killed like forty people in thismovie and he just kept on a
movie. But essentially we find outmore about Johnny adams destiny. Johnny still
sitting thrown on sixteenth year Adam haskind of clairvoyance, can kind of predict

(56:17):
the future a little bit, whichhe's been doing through his game gear the
entire movie Iggy. You know, typical white man thinking the movies about him,
but it is I didn't catch thatas a kid, but as an
adult that's hilarious. Like, man, this white man over you thinking everything
about him because he lives in Lashe said from meeting on him. Like,

(56:39):
no, this isn't about about you. We eventually find out that the
owner of the restaurant in Little Patusanactually was friends with Johnny and adams real
parents, that they Johnny was promisedto date his daughter or not date Mary,
his daughter row May, who hasonly named in the movie once and

(57:01):
it's a blinking you miss it movie. But besides that, you think that's
just Johnny's girlfriend. That's nineties moviesat it's finest right there, that you
don't know the name of the femalecharacter, and they don't go out of
their way to even tell you once. And then the funny thing is the
actors that played this character. It'sprobably the most famous actor from this movie.
Yes, besides Rob Snider. FreakingKelly Who like one of her first

(57:24):
roles and Kelly who You're like, who is Kelly Who? And she is
actually China White. In the Arrowseries on the CW, she was essentially
I think Bronze Tiger. She waskind of the kind of the pseudo proto
before Slay Wilson. She was kindof the overarching connecting piece of villains on

(57:45):
that show. She's also voiced chessShire and Young Justice, a bunch of
other things. She voices a tonof moral combat characters in the video games
all over the place. Also, most famously n X two, she is
Kevin who Letny Death strike ak Wolverinewith the fingernails. And she was also
I guess the love interest with thequeen in Scorpion King. So if you

(58:07):
saw Scorpion King with the Rock, you saw she's she's literally everywhere. Yes,
it's going on Wikipedia on her filmcredits, as long anything else,
but at her whole life. Essentially, we find out that Johnny, adam
Iggy Za and Rome are gonna goto Petusan. They somehow run into a

(58:28):
cop who is played by Tone Locke, who is an ace Entoura as well.
Wild Thing is the rap version ofthat song thang brown Brown Brown brown
Brown. Essentially. Uh. Theyconvinced the cop, hey, don't be
a cop, just come with us, but Patusan and figure out your life
from there. They steal a navalship and they drive it to Patusan.

(58:52):
And then here's the other problem Ihave with this movie map placement geographically,
because in this movie do they kindof do the Indian Jones are out of
Like, let's show passage of timeof us going through by showing where we
are in the map. They're inLa in this movie. They start on
the East coast in this movie, then go to China or produce Him,

(59:13):
which is off the coast of China, and there they take forever. I'm
like, wait a second, youguys are in La. That doesn't make
any sense. First she said, have that they stole a naval ship and
it's got on the boat, solet's go all right. Yeah. Also,
when someone look gets on the boat, he gets on here to stop
them from going. Stats puts themin the sleeperhold and they tie him up

(59:36):
with the handcuffs and he wakes upwhen they're already there. Basically he said,
how'd you get out? He said, I had a key on me.
We start shot. I saw onmy key and like when you swallow
it every Tuesday, what movie logicdays? Mind d This is going on.
Leslie Nielsen's villain. He's half robotbecause in the flashback and elephants stopped
on his face. But he alsohas a robot hand that has a mind

(59:59):
of its own when short circuits sometimeshow many ensues? I love the minute
of it. Leslie Nielsen is acomedic gym. I love them. Essentially,
they get to Petus and they findout they find a burned village,
find out that a lot pretty muchall the men and the sons and the
children have been taken away from thevillage. They run into the guards,

(01:00:19):
they take them out. Essentially, they defeat them. Adam drives a car,
which is fun, but then essentiallyfrom there it gets real weird because
then the prisoners follow them in theirown military convoy, and this is where
we get Kwan Sioux dudes. It'sfirst appearance, which means what Kevin because
they don't know even in this moviethey actually said it. I forgot what

(01:00:44):
it said. Runs the end them. I can't remember what they said though.
No, so at the end ofthe movie, like I think it
means freedom or something, but theydon't know what it actually it means.
So they're just saying it and everyonegoes quanzou dudes. But the worst part
is because it just sounds like whenpeople would speak English just for pee whatever
you say. It's like kwanza dudes, kwanzo dudes, Like oh man,

(01:01:06):
yeah, also, mind you. This movie started off with Johnny was supposed
to give a speech to an ambassador. I don't know if it was the
ambassador Patusan or not, if theyknew at the time, which this is
the guy who is kind of thevillain. He is an Asian lead who
is in a lot of Disney movies. You've seen him a lot. I

(01:01:27):
don't know if he's actually listed onthe credits I have right now. No,
he's not. He's in it.They do, Hey, Johnny,
you have to give a speech becausethis you know, this is where you're
from. So whatever. Typical ninetiesthing. Instead of giving a speech,
he sings bopoppop Iran as the speechintro song for him because his name is

(01:01:47):
like the Bop a ram or somethingexactly. And I forgot how funny that
was. I'm sorry it made laugha lot. Yeah, and then it's
not good, yeah, said Zachleads the cru to a hidden cave where
if ancient weapons turns out, thissword gives Johnny hours. I don't know.

(01:02:08):
Essentially he trains Johnny eventually, andthen they rally. The villagers travel
the coast and they have his montagelike we're getting this convoy, We're getting
everybody go, and it's like, all right, you guys gotta really love
this song. And then it's justa generic song that we have no idea,
like, oh, like this wouldbe a dope to have a nineties

(01:02:28):
song here to like just like boparound to and dancy. Now it's just
like wow, wow, wow wowexactly. They couldn't. They couldn't afford
to write to that song hold onto Tomorrow. Yeah, I give some
of themselves as like it, butmind you, mind you. So then
Adam his game gears broken. Whateverhe has to imagine how they you know,

(01:02:51):
get across the water to where theColonel Cheese fortresses. Turns out he
can envision make taking wood and makinginto surfboards. They do that because obviously
the Paitusians are very crafty with theirhands. Makes sense nineties movie at its
time. Then they have a licensesong for the surfing scene, so I
don't know that didn't make sense atall. They also made like a hundred

(01:03:12):
surfboards and like it seemed like fiveminutes. Yeah, cut some trees down,
standard out on the same thing exactlyessentially. We then cut to they
land on the on the base,I guess you could say the Royal City.
They take down General Cheese, aColonel Cheese henchman. Also one guy
who's kind of sort of his righthand man. They kick him downstairs multiple
times. Rule three. It's thenineties. Kick him three times. It's

(01:03:36):
funnier every every time. I stillthink there's a producer or director or a
writer on the staff of John Wick. Three was it four? It's four?
They just came out four. Yes, yeah, yeah, four.
They saw this movie and they putit in John We love stairs. We're
gonna climb up against it. Andthen essentially I'm just kind of going through

(01:03:58):
the movie. We had Kevin's basedplot. This is just us making fun
of the plot. We find outZatch is actually the boys' paternal uncle.
Probably would have revealed that at thebeginning, you know, probably would have
made more sense. Yeah, Imean, oh, you're my uncle.
That's my brother brother that got killed, so I felt some kind of needs.
Also he got shot and it's therewas no bullet wound, which is
nineties budget movie of its time, but it was never brought up again after

(01:04:21):
that. You know, again, ninety minutes, they don't have time.
I keep moving, hey, going, there's a final battle and that is
very shown in the final battle withLeslie Nielsen's villain, because it lasts thirty
seconds. It basically falls into Uh, wouldn't you say, like like like
a watering hole. Yeah, becauselet's gooder than dies. That Leslie Nilson's

(01:04:43):
whole twelve minutes of screen time init right there. And they don't hang
in that at all. They go, all, right, hey, guess
what, we're crowned princes kicking andqueen and all this stuff. Now,
how do they celebrate by singing thesame song they get in the movie.
And it plays through the credits, and that's part as the guy he was
singing too in the beginning of singinglike the high alto part. Can't even

(01:05:04):
so alto, can't even hear itexactly. So this movie's just fun.
I'm sorry. I know it's dumb. It's a movie. Yeah, I'll
say that, but that was themovie. Obviously. Ernie Ray as Junior
you've seen in Teenage Mutant Ninja turtleshave seen and he has been I think
Leonardo, I think was what hewas. Also the stunt performer for he

(01:05:27):
was I think he wasn't the firstone, and then in the second one
he was just keenough, like likelike there their friend. Basically, yes,
but yeah, that it's a movie. We both watched it. Here's
the story also of how I watchedit two different versions because I wasn't gonna
pay for this movie, and I'mglad I didn't pull them up both on
YouTube. There was the French versionthat was in ten adp of a nineties

(01:05:50):
movie that looked good, and thenthere was the English version that looked horrible.
I had to sing them together andhit pause whenever they went out and
sink every every like two minutes.Worked hard for this movie. I did
for you, and I enjoyed thismovie. Now, so you're all gone,
the people we worked hard for you, the Peo people. But Kevin,

(01:06:11):
this adds the ultimate question. Weasked this with Star Kid. It
is our litmus test when we gothrough these movies from now on. Is
Surf Ninja's better than the Doom movie? Yes? Yes it is? Yes?
Is Doom still at the bottom behindthis, Star Kaid? And what
else did we do that? Wasit so far far? Yes? Doom

(01:06:33):
still number three? Unfortunately? Andthen anything else Kevin about this movie before
we wrap it all up. Imean, just again, just just imagine
a little kid Kevin at the discountmovie theater where they show like three four
year old movies with his cousin's doingcomriding in from this movie, having the
greatest time of his life. Peoplein the theater, and two of them

(01:06:55):
we're adults, which were kids whowould have thought little Kevin would never imagine
twenty almost thirty years later, you'dbe talking about the movie again. If
people listen to me and care tocare about them movie called Surfing Ninjas.
Who would have thought? But thatdoes it? Check it out? Surved
in junk casey he didn't. Ifnot, hey, we just told you

(01:07:15):
to the plot, so you don'treally really need to watch it. Now.
This is a great movie if youwant to If if you have karate
aged kids you want to just bequiet little while, put this movie.
If you have surfing kids, maybenot this movie. Watch Point Break instead.
Maybe yes, or you know anyof the other surfing movie surfs up.
You know, Johnny, come onwhatever the other one next? Oh

(01:07:43):
it's Johnny. Here's the thing,Kevin, we have two movies on the
horizon that are already been booked forthe next two holidays, so we're gonna
have to wait on that one.And fortunately that was easy to get to
us. It's on Disney. Ican watch it like a four second that
is true. But that does teeup what our next movie is. It
is The Wizard. We will bewatching Veterans Day weekend talking about it because,

(01:08:03):
let's face it, no news happensover holiday weekends, which is why
we have these movies to talk about. It's the movie with the Nintendo Power
Gloves. We're gonna see what happens. It also is shot on Universal Studios,
where they have the Kong frontation ridethat no longer exists. I missed
when there was a time where yougo to UNI Studios and just go to
Nickelodeon Studios. I missed that entirebracket of town. Everyone there. There

(01:08:26):
was a time it was a dimeand then Thanksgiving. Wow Wow West is
what we will be talking about.Don't know where that one's out either.
We'll figure that out eventually. Itshouldn't be on Max. I feel like
what studio ahead that movie should be. Let's see Wow Wow West, Wow
Wow. We'll go see Dude WatWarner Brothers. So it should be on

(01:08:50):
Max. It should be on Max. Yeah, we'll find out, But
