Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to the nerdy news you need to know
throughout the week on iHeart Radio, bododcast services around the world.
Because for the last time in twenty twenty five, my
name's Honey.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
And I am twenty twenty five Kenny, and you're.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Officially listening to this end of the year podcast of
what Kenned. It's on infinitely on CAT.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I had to make sure that somebody's Christmas guests were
just out of frame so she couldn't see it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Just in case she said, I know how to I
know how to hack Dad. Look at the podcast she has.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
She doesn't last me, she doesn't love me. She loves
me a lot, but I that much to watch the podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
One of the other one of it when she's one
of these days. We got jam packed show few today
because it is our end of the year podcast before
we take our little baby holiday break. We're talking about
our shows, movies, and games of twenty twenty five. Aka
remember all the what You're doings we've done this past year. Yeah,
now they all matter.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Now it all matters. The game begins now, baby.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yes, we're also gonna talk about the winners because of
the end of the year of both our movie and
gaming fantasy leagues, and one of those is questionable right now,
I'll tell you it's very in the air, so it
might need an update. Come first podcast of twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Hey, we'll see, we'll see. I think next year we
should factor in something else for the for the movie one,
because there's movies we just didn't pick that we could
have picked, and it made it a lot more.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
That's the point. That's why you gotta at the beginning
of the year. You gotta know the movies. You gotta
lock it on and then be surprised by all the
other movies that come in the year that we just
get to watch for fun and not for rain radio
exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
That's still it is all fun.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
And in between all that, we're gonna talk about the
fourteen movies that are debatably are they a Christmas movie
or are they not very infamous for being those movies?
In that debate as well.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, this is this is like a new thing that's
probably start over the last ten years or so. It's
not a Christmas movie. Take plays it Christmas Day, Christmas.
Everybody just loses their minds. It's pretty funny actually to
use it on people.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
It is an interesting time. But you can catch up
on everything that regards this podcast and more at Infinite
Underscore Pods on the Instagram or do the X go
and give it to you. We'll have some up to
date moments and tweets whenever they happen over the holiday break.
Let's face it, they'll probably be maybe a trailer or
two that happens when we're out of here. We talk
about that when we come back. But Kevin, if say

(02:39):
you know you listening, you know the people, thank you.
Bane wants to listen to us, maybe watch us because
you know they want to avoid their family and just
what a good time. Maybe about some of the movies
we talked about this year or video games. Where can
they go on.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
A YouTube dot com slash if the Underscore possible us
on demand to see us extrapolate all of our thoughts
about all things over shows, movies and games, some other
pop culture things, a little bit of music every once
in a while, but mostly it's just to know your
stuff you love them talk about. And also to join
us twice live twice a week. Can go to twitch,
tt tv, slash if It Underscore pods to join a
chat and join the fun. And while you're there, you

(03:17):
can use your Amazon Prime subscription to pretty subscribe to
you Yeah boys on.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Twitch Yeah Boys. But we always properly start to podcast,
even though we're gonna talk about some of this in
about twenty minutes from now with what will be our
last for twenty twenty five Watch You Do It. We
talk about the shows and movies we've been watching, games
we've been playing, lives we've been living. Because it is Monday, Kevin,

(03:43):
you get to go first, good sir.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yes, this was a very busy one to two four five.
This has been a busy, busy five days stretch of
my life. Or day four right now, day five, tomorrow,
maybe even day six on Tuesday. What's happened?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Maybe hopefully?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
But as I said, last episode produced our live broadcasts
for the Value Be Farmed for to raise money for
the Kids for the Kids campaign at my job. And
it's just a lot, the last lot of background work.
I know who you've done this and you listening to
us when we do live remotes for radio, it's a

(04:24):
lot of work goes in behind it. And you guys,
don't you hit a product when you tune in the station,
but you only hear what actually goes into it. So
I got home from work on Friday and I kind
of just sat there in the void for about.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Staring at the abyss, put a Christmas movie on the
background just to hear it. But you're not processing it,
you know, Like I was.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Like, my feet hurt, my brain hurts from putting out fires.
I'm hungry with So I just said to ever about
the hour until I finally got a buf of my button. Okay,
let me let me, let me feed my body, let
me zone off a little bit. And then because one
of the of all the things that was happening at
the show, the one thing that we didn't expect to
happen was a roof leak on our equipment. So that

(05:06):
was fun. So we had to scramble and find tarps. Luckily,
we're in We're in the garden store, so that tarps everywhere.
So we got a bunch of tarps and kind of
made up a tarp tent around our equipment for our
people to run. It was hot inder there, but we
got a job done. I got a lot of good
reviews from my one band I booked. It was an
old school like jazz orchestra, really really good. That was

(05:28):
a lot of fun. And then, like I said, it
got home and then couldn't rest too long because then
we had to clean up for the birthday party.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
The next day.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
It was Friday, and Lea's birthday party was yesterday on Saturday.
So sat down, zoned out for about an hour, took
a little nap, ate some food, and got up and
said let's clean the house. So swept and mopped and
swept in mob and swept in mob was the mop.
And then Saturday was again Lea's birthday party. Ten eleven,
twelve screaming girls and one conspicuous boy who showed up.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
The boy.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, and I can say this because I was this
kid when I was younger. I don't trust the guy
that's friends with all the girls. And I'm watching him
very very closely.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Connor friend zone, Baby, Connor, you're on the You're on
the verge of the friend zone though, so that's the
only problem.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, yeah, I'm watching you. Boy. I'm wanting was weird
It was this boy doing it? It was his boy. I
kept saying, like low, nobody kept answering me. I'm like,
I'm asking questions I paid mortgage.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
They said get back in the basement exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Basically, but she had she had a glass. Some of
my friends are still here. They had a little sleepover,
so they're still screaming girls in my house. That's a
lot of fun. Also decided to fact having a birthday
party for a kid in your house. There's a lot
of unhealthy food in my house right now and I'm
enjoying its.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Hey, baby, is that you do whatever you want? Baby,
You're good.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I haven't been able to work out because of my
arm in my neck for the last two weeks. I'm
probably I probably can work out now, but I'm like,
you know what, I'll take an extra day.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Or two, little steppy on the treadmill. You're good to go, baby,
that's all you need.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Exactly, so that that's great. I have to do the
morning show again tomorrow because of the NFL and moving games,
and it affects my life. And now I'm I'm starting
not to like sports, honey, I really am, because yeah,
I get it, but even with the other team and
we have the Orioles, they usually have their entire like

(07:21):
game times out by now, and I'm still that's gonna
work either. Just just frustrating. It's very, very frustrating. But
that's cool. And also to tomorrow night is my daughter's
Christmas recital and in our school, so we could go listen
to some kids sing them songs. And also I finally
beat the d LC for a clauset a watchie on.

(07:45):
That was cool.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
No more for you though, it's done. They said, no
more deal see for that game.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Yeah, we're done, So that that's been deleted and we're
moving on. I was kind of frustrated because I didn't realize,
like when you play Assassine s Creet and you invest,
you know, you always, you know, invaded base with a
bunch of you know, people whatever, have a bell that
they were ringing for backup, and I didn't know until yesterday.
I'm playing a game one hundred and fifty hours. I

(08:10):
could shoot the bell down with the gun.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, I got it.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
The whole time I was I was risking coverage, calming
up there and kind of down I could have just
like that was a little embarrassing.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Things you learn at the end of the game was.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
So that doesn't embarrassing. But other than that, we're gearing
up for Christmas. We're doing a Christmas brunch this year,
so we're not gonna be out for Christmas Eve. And
I'm thinking this, I've never done it before. I'm actually
done this before. Thinking about going to the movies on Christmas.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Why not? I mean, if you guys are done and
need something to do, I mean they're available, they're open.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
So yeah, because we still haven't seen Utopia yet, and
I'm like, you know what, And I'm guessing it's not
gonna be like a crowded movie theater on Christmas, so
I can bring the baby and probably be mostly fine.
So yeah, I think Mike Utopia on Christmas Night? Maybe maybe,
but that's everybody. What about you, buddy?

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Huh? Yeah? So for me more and I went to
the Capitol's game yesterday. They lost horribly. Uh that it's okay,
but that was fun. We did go. D C has
a holiday market that's like right by Capitol and Arena
that up until up until like the past few years,
no one really went to. But now everyone goes to

(09:27):
because of TikTok really, because all the little food spots
are like big on TikTok. My god, it was so
packed yesterday. And I told more of this when we're
going to It was just completely fine. We went to it.
We wanted to. I was like, hey, just be prepared,
like this's a weekend before Christmas, so this technically is
the busiest weekend, this holiday market could be this whole season.

(09:48):
And it was. We survived. I essentially, you know, because
being a bigger body. Uh I tell more, always get
behind me, and just I funnel through the people lo
and behold, h it's old elderly couple also funneled behind me.
And I was like, we were following you, son. I
was like, thank you, You're welcome. Grandma and Grandpa. All

(10:09):
aboard the hood sss hoodie. But yeah, so that was fun.
Like I said, don't do that the week before Christmas
because it's gonna be hell. Uh, it was just fine.
It's it's okay, But that was fun. Trying to think
what else? What else did we do? More? And I
are in the midst of watching a bunch of holiday movies.
I'm at the age now where uh we got to

(10:32):
watch about half of it one day the other half
the next day because I fall asleep or I'm like crap,
I gotta go to work the next day. And uh.
On Friday, I had the passing of a sweet, sweet
horse named Nobu and go to Tsushima, and my god,
that it catch me off guard that horse dying in
that game.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Who knew a horse can make you feel so much.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Like an inanimated horse that you really are just calling
is hey, get over. I don't want to walk over there,
come here.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I don't want to walk on a ride.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah I want to ride. But yeah, so I just
finished Act too now. I told Kevin this. I think
off Mike, I don't remember. I've just I'm at the
point where I've been doing all the side quests and
not realizing, oh, there's a bunch more of the game
to go. And it's funny because the PlayStation I love
that when like you go home and you're on the
game little tab of it, it's like, oh, you're sixty

(11:23):
seven percent through the game. You're whatever. I was like, man,
it's only increasing so much. It's been stuck at like
fifty five fifty six. And then after I did, I
think the big missions up sixty five. So that's that's
what we were missing right there.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
That's what you're waiting for, and that's what you wait me.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, but so hopefully we'll finish that before the New year,
because the goal is to hopefully play Clay Obscure Extradition
thirty three is the New Year game I did. It
is funny as we're doing like our games of the year,
just like what game like I always start a game
infamously like January second last year was Last of Us
Part one, and then we play like five other games

(11:58):
whatever throughout the year. But we're hoping clarip scares that
game as we get we get through Gooes hopefully quicker.
It's this third part hopefully. And there's the DLC and
the Ikey Island and all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
So the DLC you could skim if you want to.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, I'm not doing legends. I can't do that. That's all.
It's online multiplayer co op stuff and raids.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I'm not doing that because the Ikey Island stuff is
like it gets a little a little mystic and all
that kind of stuff and literally anything to the story.
Really Yeah, but because your horse still dead and you
get there, we're still dead, damn it.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
More than that hour. Sorry, but yeah, that was been
fun and uh, you know, or ex said more and
I are going on the Skellies for Christmas. Uh, and
then uh, we're making the mac and cheese Tenise mac
and cheese from TikTok and then we go to Disney. O. Yeah,
I guess we're talking about that. We're going to Disney
on the twenty seventh through New Year's Eve Day. Essentially

(12:54):
we come back to New Year's Eve in the afternoon.
The boy booked all the light on Saturday. We'll cop
at six forty five. Not the cognizant of where I was.
Just get to the laptop, get to the phone, sit down,
prepare yourself. And uh, it was interesting. H Disney Now
if you are going to like a Disney park anytime soon.

(13:15):
This is kind of our sub interest of this podcast.
This in wrestling, really if you talk about I really
think about it. We talk about those subtopics on this show.
Is uh, you certain rides are tiered if you're booking
the lightning lanes, so like the popular ones are tier one,
the last popular or tier two. I do like that
you can book three ahead of time as well as

(13:36):
the fancy rights, but it sucks use for Hollywood studios.
It's like all you got Slinky Dog, you got Aerosmith
and you got the smuggling Millennium falcon like and those
are all two or three I can only pick one
of those. I'm like, damn it, it sucks, and then
it is what it is. But I think we're good
for what we got everyone. I got a ride that
everyone can go on for everything, and hopefully that will

(13:56):
help out because I know it is very busy in
that in between starting for now pretty much through like
January third, So hopefully we managed. Baby.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I saw a few videos this is just from from
this past weekend, and it was the whole bone in
the whole month tip hold on like it was packed.
The Magic Kingdom it was. I mean I've been to Disney,
you know on Christmas once. This is your second time, Yes,
we went, we were. Last time we went was christ
Or with my family. We came back the twenty eighth,

(14:26):
so we we partially. I mean, it's the same type
of crowd, but like we're doing it like later days essentially.
But it is yeah, very packed crackt Yeah, very packed.
I think one thing that saved us really was that
we had Magic Kingdom twice on our first day in
our last day. That way, it didn't feel as because
like I said, it was so many people, so many.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
I've over booked stuff, so like we have bars and lunches.
I'm like, if we don't want to do this, we'll
cancel the day before. I don't care. Yah, but delighted
to know heated pools. So my brother and I are
bringing the swimsuits. Will be like seventy five on a
couple of those days. I'm like, hell, yeah, it's getting
that heated pool. Baby, it's gonna be a nice time.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
That was the best thing about Christmas in Florida. Christmas
Day when I was I was like, this is amazing.
Why don't everybody what does everybody living in I.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Get that Millie Maka song, No, I get it exactly.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
It is amazing. Every year this winter, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
The dilemma my family is facing now is what the
hell are we packed to wear? It's gonna be seventy five,
like fifty at night. I'm like, swear jeans. Deal with
it when it's seventy five and it'll be fine at night.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
We packed basically for a spring spring here.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yeah, liked spring jeans. It can be light as jacket maybe, yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Exactly, So that's what we did.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
But yeah, so it'll be fun. But we'll talk about
that obviously in the new year and how that goes.
But Kevin, let's get on into it because it is
time for the new.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
It's tough, no, no, and first things first, we have
to talk about our movie and gaming league winners.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
So let's bring it out. Oh, it was a tumultuous
battle in one of the leagues. In the other league,
it was a dominating performance.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
But so Grand Theft torched me.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Yeah, that's what you get. Will you pick it next year?

Speaker 2 (16:21):
We'll find out, well, I said, I was like, if
this will come out, I lose.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
You're right, You're right. So in case you miss it
this past year, we've done it. I think four years now, one, two,
five years now. Technically, actually we do our annual move
our video game fantasy league where we each draft a
bunch of games and how they do well based on
their open critic score is how many points we get.
And then the more points you get, the more you win,

(16:46):
less points you get, you lose points, all that good stuff. Uh. Infamously,
earlier this year that the whole pick was who's gonna
draft God Grand Theft Auto six? Kevin, I think I
had the first draft pick this year. I think you did.
He picked it and ultimately was a loser because he
picked it. Because Kevin, you had a total Fantasy point

(17:07):
score of one hundred and eighty two points, and myself
at in Hoodie at games two hundred and seventy one
not even close to your boy won the Gaming League.
Maybe I was like, if.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Brand of phone doesn't come out, I'm losing. I'm fine
with that.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I'm totally fatal. There you go. But some of the
I guess we'll go through the big winners of this
year of the games you had versus what I had.
So keV did have Claire up Scare Expedition thirty three
on his team, so you got twenty four points out
of that. You had Death Training two on the Beach
you had, I think that was your top two game.

(17:44):
Oh and then Kingdom Come Deliverance too, so you had
three out of the Game of the Year nominees at
the Game Awards this year. So that's how I was
in touch.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I just didn't get here on the.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Funnel, didn't get Grandfats out of him. That's what happened.
On the flip side. Your boy over here, I had
split fiction that got me twenty one points, had Hollow Night,
Silk Song twenty two points, Donkey Kong Bonanza twenty three points,
and I think that Monster Hunter Wilds at nineteen points.
Those my top three or four as well. The games we.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Drafted, like I had had, I had a you know,
Inklean was gonna be good this year. I just thought
they could have thought about it was gonna come out,
and it did not.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Yeah, happens. I think what helped me to I drafted
Dispatch because I had like I had faith in it
the entire time and obviously you do too now because
of it coming out. I was like, that game looks great.
I want to play that. I don't care if it's
bad or good. And it turned out being good. That
helped a lot.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Yeah, I could remember that release date, but I remember
we were talking about that on a trailer Ford. I
think it was it was it say the play wasn't
the Game Awards last year?

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Think it was a game the Game boards last year. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Yeah, that's really interesting, really interesting.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Lowest scores for our teams, Kevin, you had, I believe
was Call of Duty Black Ops seven. You just drafted it,
I think just to get points. On the board. It
got you minus four points because it was below seventy.
And I believe the lowest game I had was Indian
and the Jones The Great Circles Order of Giants steelc
which only got me two points just because it is

(19:19):
more of the same. It was ever special and not
a lot of people reviewed it, so it is what
it is.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yeah, I thought that gave had a lot of hype,
I feel like when it first was released, But like
we always measure a game impact on here on am
I saying to talk taking like videos about it. I
didn't see not taktok videos about Indiana Jones.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yeah, that's what happens. But now let's flip sides to
our movie league. So what this means is Gaming League
technically our rewards if we both win one, they offset
each other. But the main thing is if you win,
you get to draft first in the next year. So
I'll get the draft first in the Gaming League. Well,
I pick Grandpats out of six, I don't think so,
I'm not being dumb down. I've being that dumb this year.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
I'm a risk taker.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Hey, you're risking to get the biscuit. Same thing happens
with the Movie League if you win and you get
a popcorn at the movies. If you win this league
and you win both leagues. But unfortunately, no, it didn't
happen this year. Because I've said Kevin had one hundred
and thirteen points for his movies Your Boy one hundred
and ten points in an all really based on Avatar,

(20:26):
Fire and Ash. Now here's a little bit of a
little star because we base the ratings and the points
on the Monday after the movie comes out. This is
a Sunday recording. We're doing this because we're schedules right now.
Avatar sit at sixty eight. If it loses three more points,
we tie. Nobody wins nothing, we.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Tie, and then we have to high five and say,
good game, sir.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Good games go back corners. But this one is a
little bit easier, so we're gonna break it down. Kevin,
you had what movies?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
I had them get to go to tab here word's step,
there you go go. I had wickets for good so
Utopia two, Avatar, Fire and Ass, Superman, l e O, Thunderbolts, Predator, Badlands,
and Mission Impossible, Final Reckoning, And then my counterpicks were
Jurassic Ber We're not read a counterpick. I didn't pick
any we'd pick to money, probably gonna be We're gonna
be bad. Yeah, I picked the Jurassic World Rebirth and

(21:20):
The Running Man.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Yes, And how our chunropects work in the movie league
is you get more points the worse the movie does. Uh.
So technically Kevin got twenty points because he picked Drassic
World Rebirth. I've got a lot of points from that.
But he had he picked Wicked for Good, which only
got sixty seven, so we lost three points on that. Yeah,
not too bad. Me, on the other hand, had Paddington

(21:41):
in Peru, Sinners, Mickey seventeen, The Fantastic Four, First Steps,
Leelo and Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, Live Action
from the World of John Wake, Ballerina, Captain America, Brave
New World. And my opposite picks were a Minecraft movie
and Now You See Me Three, which did give me
a good mountain points because the Minecraft movie was forty
seven forty seven on Rotten Tomatoes, so not too bad.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Yeah, you know. And also like, I was surprised how
harshly people reviewed two movies on our list, Now You
See Me three and Wicked for Good. I'm like, like
I feel like they were really really hard for those
two movies, like they're not you know, it isn't Kane.
But I was like, geez, yeah, well picking up.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Then I had Captain America Brave New World on the
other hand, which just lost me point. So hey, we
picked it because we wanted it to be good. Luckily
we got to interview Anthony Mackie. Not realize when we
drafted this movie. We get to interview the cast of
that movie.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
And the movie was okay, it just wasn't. It wasn't
top ten Marvel, Yes, which shouldn't. It shouldn't be an issue,
but apparently it's an issue.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
But because the drafts are offset, you won one, I
won one, nobody gets anything. Yay, we want to redo, yes,
So essentially you get to draft first in the movie
League next year. We usually do that like the second episode.
We come back in the new year. That way we
can pretty what we think will actually come out and
won't come out for the rest of the year.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, there are a lot of things pending her now.
That's what as we speak, because there's a lot of
things that rub in the air. Because even even with
the Avenger stuff like that's still up the air.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
He's up in the air too. That's because he's swinging.
Get But as we get ready for our big tabic
this episode, which is our shows Movies and Games of
twenty twenty five, we got to talk about different topics.
So in lieu of this, make sure you do you
d m us or tag us in your shows Movies

(23:35):
and Games of the year at Infinite Underscore pods or
Twitch dot tv slash Infinite Underscore pods as well, so
we can we can list them out. But Kevin, let's
go through a list of fourteen movies. People aren't sure
if they're Christmas movies or not before we get there.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
This will be fun. There are a lot of movies
that have this just I guess argument that comes up
every every year now and it's fun. Tell me take
it away too, seriously, like just relax, just we're just talking.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Just relax, we're just having fun. Guy, Come on, guys,
come on. So Kevin, let's go through it. I'll list
the movie. You give me your shorthand first, and we'll
get debate if we have to debate it or not.
But these fourteen films, are they Christmas movies? Are they not?
First one up, every Harry Potter film, or at least

(24:24):
the first three where we're at Hogwarts a lot.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
I think definitely the first two was the third one.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Aska Man Third, Yes, third one was Askaban, correct.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
I feel like Askaman is it? I think ask me
more about how that story kind of starts to take
off and we get into the rest of the trilogy.
But the first two definitely, like I said, it takes
place a lot at Hogwarts of them being in class
every day. I think those two can definitely be considered
Christmas movies.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yeah, every I think obviously Happy Christmas, wrong, Happy Christmas, Harry,
my Mom got you, the ugly sweat and then the
invisible uh that invisible swing, but the MISSI Will Cloak.
That's what the Gaine Show reference right there. I think
the first one I it is. I think these movies
more are they take place during Christmas and our technically

(25:10):
Chris movies. I get you wanting to watch them. Remember
when free Form had the countdown to Christmas? Those are
these type of movies. You would watch those just to
be like, I want to get that Christmas vibe going.
You know it is, because here's here's a tricky question.
Kevin More and I watch How To How the Grins, Uh,

(25:30):
the Grench movie on free Form yesterday because it was
on TV and we were watching it. We didn't watch
We only watched the first half of it. Free Form
was showing a lot more scenes than the version that's
on Peacock, which is wild like and it was just
on TV like this weird showing more scenes. And then
we watched the Peacock version on the back half of
it today and it's missing scenes. We're like, what the

(25:52):
hell is going on here? So that's just an interesting
thing based on where you watch your Christmas movies at interesting.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I want to fill time on on on the air stream.
Thats probably what it is.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
That's true. We had some time put some scenes in there,
all right. The next one, Kevin Batman returns. Is it
a Christmas movie or not?

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I think it is the Christmas movie because a lot
of the things in the movie are about like family
and who's your family and do you love your family?
And uh, basically the movie, the penguin is abandoned by
his family and then takes wants to bring a new
family by being in the Mayra of Gotham, and then
Bruce is looking for a family because you know his
parents are dead to that old song, and Dance finds

(26:33):
a catwoman and then it ends with him saying make
Christmas al for I could say that's a Christmas movie.
That's I could. I would.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
I would say that too. It is a darker Christmas
movie for sure. Kill like ten people in the movie. Yeah,
I know. He kids at bomb to that guy and
tosses him in the middle. Andy Jogron did mention free
Form does add deleted scenes of pad time. They do
it with Twilight and Harry Potter so infamously. To watch
a movie on free Form, that's what you're gonna get.

(27:00):
But yeah, I think it is. I just think it's
not a lot of people's first thoughts when they think
of Christmas movies.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
I think, yeah, it's not because because of the murder,
all the murder.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yes, we'll go, We'll save this next one for last,
because that's the infamous one Eyes Wide Shut. I've never
seen that movie, so I'm gonna say no because I've.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Never seen it. I've seen it. I don't never like that,
so I can say probably not.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Next one, Gremlins, I would say yes because more and
I made more watch this for the very first time,
and she's like, some of these gremlins are kind of cute,
especially the Caroller ones.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
I think it is, too, because the whole movie is
about the the guy's dad was a traveling salesman and
he went to this place that sold these things and
got one for the sun for Christmas.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Christmas movie consumerism. That's what the movie was about.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Exactly, exactly just about you know, pets, not just things.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
And Gremlin's sue. That's that's completely diff Oh yeah, time
next one up. Rambo. I would say, no, no. Apparently
it does have a Christmas tree in the background on
some of the scenes, but.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
No, no, Rambo is not about that. It's about what
happens that the soldiers come home from war, about chriss at.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
All trading places. Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. Would you
think that's a Christmas movie? Kevin, Yes, I would. I would.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
It's kind of one of those classic Eddie Murray movies
that happened to be Christmas movie too. Eddie Murphy, I
mean I would call a Christmas movie.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
I would say, yes, it is funny. Is a fun
fact that's on This is apparently in Italy they have
twenty four hour marathons of trading places on Christmas Day
compared to where we have a Christmas story twenty four
hour marathons here. So that's kind of.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Funny at least kind of cooler than us.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
I guess. So said we're edgy, kiss kiss bang bang.
Never seen the movie, can't tell you.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I mean either, But I know the same guy that
directed this director him in the Iron Man three, and
it's like one of his things that have his movies
Jane Black Christmas reason.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, so I don't know. I would say, yeah, okay,
Edward scissor Hands. Is that a Christmas movie? It has
Christmas lights, Christmas parties, Christmas music. But is it that
toward more of a gothic horror movie, Kevin, because.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
It's Tim Burton and Tim Burton's flipping crazy. I'm just
saying no.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
I would say yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
I would say it turns also Tim Burton, but that
feels more Christmas.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
I think. The other thing is you're seeing Edward Scissorhands
during the Halloween movie marathons. Yeah, the Christmas.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Exactly, everybody's Christmas down Watch Hands, like what watch the
first lethal weapon?

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Kevin? Is that a Christmas movie or not.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
I haven't seen this in a long time.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
It does take place during Christmas.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
I think it doesn't end at a dinner table. I
want to say yes because of that, but again, since
alone so i've seen, I'm saying I'm just gonna say
no because I I can't say any thing is to
prove it.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, I would say no too. I feel like when
I think of like some of the movie The Gremlins,
I'm like, oh, yeah, that's Christmas. You know the other one? Yeah, Rocky,
is that a Christmas movie? Does take place in Philly
during the Christmas season. Snow is on the ground, everyone's
decked out for Holidays. I would say no. I just
think it's one of those like, yeah, it's Philly. It's

(30:23):
Philly's looks cooler when it's snow on the ground compared
to in the summer when it's hot.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Here's a Kevin fun fact. I've never seen any movie
in the Rocky slash Creed frames.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Oh, Kevin Creed, Oh, Creed one, oh, two, three, But okay.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
I've never Rockies one through ten? How many they are
I haven't seen an I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
I think it was Rocky Balboa, which was like the
kind of reboot sequel one they did where it was
like it was him versus a Floyd Mayweather type and
they put him in a simulator and Rocky got his
ass handed to him every time. I was like, that's
what we do in two k now, and we do
two okay hook Steven Spielberg's Peter Pan. While you know

(31:07):
most of it does take place in never Land. Yeah,
they remember the beginning. It's technically the end of that movie. Uh,
take place during the Christmas holidays. They are going to
England to see their Grandma Wendy and all this stuff.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
So I'm gonna say yes because a lot of me
in Christmas they won't going to London to see cremeint Wendy.
So even though I said they're never Land for he's
talking about movie the beginning and the end, they're they're
there because of Christmas. So yeah, I'm gonna say yes.
I would say yes as well.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
I would say yes. This one's kind of easy because
I've seen a lot of people's modern Christmas list movies.
Iron Man three, Is that a Christmas movie or not?
Kevin absolutely not. No, Oh, it's Christmas in l a baby.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
It's borings what it is, it's boring movie. I'm sorry.
I shouldn't be so harsh.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
I would say no as well. I mean, I get
it takes place during the holidays, but that's more of
another countdown to Christmas movie. I guess the free Form
wanted to play something you'll never see me all right
than are Big two Nightmare before Christmas? Kevin? Is it
a Christmas movie?

Speaker 2 (32:17):
I want to say yes, but this is one of
those movies that it works on Halloween and Christmas. It's
definitely both because they literally live in like a Halloween
simulated world, and in this world there are Halloween worlds,
there's Christmas worlds, the worlds, downtown worlds, and he wants
to be in the Christmas world. He's tell her Halloween,
So I would say yes.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
I would say, now, the whole point is him stealing
Santa away from Christmas, so it's more of a heist
movie anything. Yeah. I mean I think more and I
watch it more during Halloween. I don't think we really
watch it during Christmas because it's that really Christmas movie
til the back half of that movie, I feel like,

(32:58):
But I mean, I think that's the point. I think
Tim Burton was smart with that back in ninety three
of Hey play my movie on any marathon you want
free form, I got you covered.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
And only Tim bern can make this movie because he'slipping crazy.
He's the only person that could have made this direct.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
And then our last one, which is infamously always debated
if it's a Christmas movie or not die Hard? Is
it a Christmas movie, Kevin or is it not?

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Much like hook I would say yes because if it
wasn't Christmas, he wouldn't have been there. He was there
for us for I think to meet his kid, right,
because because he makes divorced with his wife and he
wont get his kids on for Christmas. So without that,
he's not in La.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
I think it was La right, yeah, La Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Not a Tony Plaza. So without if it was just
you know, December seventh, he wasn't there. But it was
twenty fifth, and it's gonna be christas soon. He wants
to be. There's kid. He's a good parent. Maybe a
bad husband, he's a good parent.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
And I'll add to this it was during a work
Christmas party, so we've Office Christmas Party, which is an
actual movie that came out like six years ago. So
a die Hard now is a Christmas movie?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Yeah, I know, this is one of the main one
of them, like really curts people's not it is, It's not.
I'm like, just look at the facts of the movie.
If if if it wasn't Christmas time, he wouldn't have
been there and would have died. It's been terrible.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Carl Winslow exactly. He had been stuck on family matters,
which he was. He was.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
You ever seen the theory about how Carl Winslow and
that got really the same character. It really makes a
lot of sense.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
It does. It does, But you know what also makes sense, Kevin.
Our Shows Movies and Games of twenty twenty five, So
let's break it out. So infamously this is our favorite
podcast of the year because we get to rally on
all the things we liked and talk about it one

(34:53):
last time before the year wraps up. Our Shows Movies
and Games or SMG's Infamously, I didn't w ears Down
last year, Kevin, But mine last year, oh I did not.
My movie was Dune Part two, my game was Pokemon
TCG Pocket And last year my movie or my show

(35:14):
actually was The Penguin. So those are mine from last year,
from twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
If I didn't have a dad brain, I probably can
remember what I did last year.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
But that's why I write these things down. So, Kevin,
where do you want to start this year? Do you
want to go with your movie of the year? Your
TV show or the game of the year. So what
we do is we give an honorable mention and then
we get our an actual one in there as well.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Let's talk about the show, all right.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Would you like to go first, sir? Would you like
me to go first?

Speaker 2 (35:42):
You go first?

Speaker 1 (35:43):
All right? So we had a bunch of shows, a
bunch of shows I obsessed over, including Alien Earth and
The Pit, which I caught on a little bit later
than everyone else did when it first came out. But hey,
that's okay. We got a new season coming out in
literally like two weeks. I'm excited. But my honorable mention
goes to Daredevil Born Again, which is wild because I

(36:05):
forgot that show came out this year. But like forever ago.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
I watched that in Disney because I was in Disney
when I'm premiered.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
I remember them. I thought it was a good time. Hey,
we're getting another season in literally like two three months,
depending on when you're listening to this podcast, and it
that is I think where the future of Disney plus
Marvel shows is gonna go. It's in the Daredevil universe
is gonna get reborn again, which would be great born again.
There you go. But yeah, I watched it all. I
think Fist killed it. I mean everything there was paying

(36:34):
homage of the Netflix show, but cementing it in the
MCU finally, So that's why it's my honorable mention. Kevin,
would you like to go with your honorable mention or
want me to list my show?

Speaker 2 (36:43):
My honorable mention is going to be a show I
found again while I was in Disney. Well it what
really was? I wasn't Disney. I kind of caught onto
it while we right before we left Life was watching
it and then Disney I kind of went down the
rabbit hole. Hulu original called Paradise.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Oh yes, good joys, good joys. Yes, yes, yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
This show had every twist in turn you can want.
It's apocalyptic science fiction, it's who Done It, It's fallouty,
it's literally everything. And Sterling came round and I can't
remember her name right now, but the actress who plays
like the FBI head while they're in this underground survival
bunker thing. They did a great job and it had

(37:25):
you captivated from episode one. I think it's ten episodes.
It was really good. Even even though the twist in
the in the show isn't like when he finally fake fair,
Oh who done it? It's like it kind of let down.
You don't care because everything else is so so good.
It's like, oh, likea he did it? Anyway, this thing
right here is still really good. Yeah, so my own
mention is probably gonna be a paradise.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Season two comes out in February, so not too far
off for that as well, which is great. Hey, these
are shows that came out this year. They're already getting
second seasons next year, this next year, which is great.
What the fun that you can do that you can
do that again in these times? My show of the
year makes sense, you know, a very pulse finger on

(38:05):
the pulse of what was going on in the real world,
but was set in a galaxy far far away and
or Season two was my show of the year.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Those last two episodes then were amazing.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Those back half of those episodes was like, oh, like
I'm feeling antsy, this is too real, and like, oh,
and it connected everything fabulously. It was great because.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
He made he's literally walking to the ship he's doing
on Rogue one, and then the show is like, oh,
this is you could roll right through and or and
get right through a new Hope and you're.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
And you're like the whole time, like, you know what,
let's just watch with Rogue one again the entire time
of the second season.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
The only thing I didn't like about Rogue one was
like the first episode about season two, one of those like.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Oh and or one planet, yeah, and or.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
But other than that, this show is a freaking save
sixty seven out of ten something like that.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
Yeah, that was my show of the year, Kevin, what's
your show of the year?

Speaker 2 (38:58):
My show in the year is another show that caught
me off guard because I was trying to expand my
horizons in some of my watching this year, and I
just watched superhero stuff, even though I still bit just
watch superheroes on the cartoons. But again, I showed that
my wife had on while you know, the baby was
doing the baby stuff and she was still a baby
this time last year. And then I kind of just
called on too. This is really good. Uh the pit

(39:20):
you got feel Max? Hell yeah, groundbreaking television. The fact
that there were fifteen episodes of a fifteen hour shift
while you were a nurse or a doctor in the er,
and each episode is an hour of what happened during
the shift remarkable. And then I think it was like
maybe the middle of the season, towards towards the back half,
h there was again, like you said, things that happened

(39:41):
in the real world crossover to the studisjo. There was
a mass shooting event and it was terrifying. It was
just terrifying, see how what actually happens in the hospital
when that happens.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
In the like nephew but not nephew's girlfriend died, Like
oh my god, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
And then to hear a lot of people that actually
work in medical industry saying, oh, yeah, that's how it is,
and I don't watch that show because I want to
get away.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
From work, and it is. It is rare when a
show gets nominated for a ton of Golden Globes or
an Emmys, they're like, I haven't seen that, and then
all of a sudden, you know what, I'll watch it, like,
oh my god, it deserves all those awards. That's rare
when that happens. Give it more all you give it.
But yeah, my show of the year is The Pit.
There you go. Here's a fun fact. I've been watched

(40:24):
that all in a weekend because it was that good.
I was like, you know, I can play games, I
can watch a movie. Now I want to watch a
pit the whole weekend. I but you know, whatever, There
you go, there you go, Uh guy indoor for me.
You got the Pit for Kevin Uh. Daredevil board again
in Paradise as our number two's as well. So if

(40:45):
you're watching the show to watch pretty much you got
Disney plus Hulu most of those shows you can watch
and then HBO X I Leave the.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Pit right now is airing weekly on TNT forgotten.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
So if you're going home and your parents got cable,
still like watch it there rising on a band or whatever.
Let's go to games then, Kevin Uh these games infamously
for our Games of the Year. We don't just behold
it to games that came out in this year. Sometimes
it works out like that most of the time, it's
games we've caught up most of the time, or it's

(41:17):
collections or limited editions or something like that. So Kevin,
you will get to go first with your honorable mention
of your Game of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Monervel mentioned for this year's Game of twenty twenty five.
It's a game that kind of like I was in
a game hole beginning of twenty twenty five, so I
had I had to find something to keep my attention,
you know, just you know, play games and kind of
zone out and just you know, relax. And the game
that I played until another game came out with Mass Effect.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
There you go. Hornblen Kevin's one hundred playthrough of Mass Effects.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
I went through one, two and three the way I
always do. I was an adept, which means that he's
allowed to bio attacks my romancely are. I'm pretty much
played my normal playthrough and had a last year.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Just do it again.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
And and even though it's like said, a hundred time
play through it, I still teared up at the at
the at the the LC and Mass Effect three to
have the party and I know what's happening next.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
This sucks. Here's the infamous thing is Kevin. Any year
from now, it could just be Arkham Asylum. Or orham
Knight play again. He's like I nominated again. It could
be shoot next year. Because Mike's game of the Year
is clamp Scure, that might be ours. That may because
we're catching it up here, we divide ourselves up equally.

(42:36):
We want these three categories. Some of them fall fall
to the wayside a little bit. But yeah, I want
to mention it is mass Effect. The game has been
very good to me over the last however many years
has been out.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
I don't even want to count.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
My honorable mention is actually a game from this year,
and I think it's probably Kevin's game of the Year.
Unfortunately it's my honorable mention. Dispatch is my honorable mention.
I think, like I said, rock for that game. When
we saw the first trailer come out last year, it
finally came out you know this fall and it was
Telltale at turned to Nadhawk Studios, finally got it together

(43:10):
and released an episodic game that people loved and played.
Keep Up Iconically a great line in that franchise. We
love Beef the Dog, and I think all the characters
that universe was really fun and just a fun Another
take on superhero worlds that aren't bound by Marvel and DC.
That worked.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yeah, and again I'll just pull a tape off. My
game of the year is Dispatch. It's funny apparently this
game was actually pitched as a TV show and some
ID said no. I'm like, wow, you didn't. You didn't
see the potential could come.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Incock, you could have had a superhero show. People.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
One couldn't have this game was it was the first
three to the second three? It was it two and two?
I can't remember.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
It was two each week?

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Yeah, yeah, great, great, great game that every week when
I was done the chapter, like I had to wait, dang,
I got wait another week to play last two. And
it kept you guessing, It kept you wanting more, even
like you know, the most she would do was like
the press the button now type of type of stuff,
but that wasn't what you were there for. The story

(44:13):
was so good it kept you a amer with it.
So my game in the year is this Dispatch, and
I beat it I think three times now, won't.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
I did two play through of that, yeah, which is
rare for a lot of those games, because I wanted
to want to see the trophies, but see what the
other side of the events looked like not too different
but so fun.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
And my third play through because I just really enjoyed
the voice acting, like I want to I want to
have these characters one more time before I move on
to not nothing else because the voice acting in the game,
which aren't done by world class voice actors like I
mean Aaron remember his name by Aaron Paul and uh
effy right, but everybody.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Else in the game mostly are just video game actors
or streamers. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Yeah, and they did a great job. So I just
wanted to hang out with the characters one more time.
It's almost kind of like mass effect where you just
get you get fall in love.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
What's your crew basically?

Speaker 2 (45:01):
Yeah, So yeah, my game was dispatched.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
There you go. My game of the year because I
finally beat it twenty twenty five because I played the
first one last year and that was not on my
list last year, but it is this year. God of
War Raged Rock is my game of the Year for
twenty twenty five, Kevin, because your boy Platinum, that bitch.
I got all one hundred trophies of it.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
Gotta war. Ragnar Rock is a very rewarning experience, very
war against that final fight with uh with against Odin
is like it's jerking that game when you beat him down, Like, yes,
you deserve every one of these years.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
But yeah, I'm excited. I finished that game. It was
well worth waiting to play it, and we played it.
Uh so we're tackled with that. We're doing Ghosts now.
Last of Us Part two will be played next year.
The well the Horizon will tackle you one day. We'll
get to you a horizon.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
I ask you, did you see the twist coming with
that game?

Speaker 1 (45:59):
Or yeah? I knew about the twist the entire time,
but I was like, when is it happening. It's like
it's gonna happen by now, like Chirley, we're almost oh no,
it happened all right? Oh god.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Oh and then the way I can remember that Brocken
Sindri entire time.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Yeah, oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
And then at the end of the game, I know
the end of the joke. What gets bigger and more
you take away from it? Oh oh, just hit you
in heart.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
It's still bad for him waiting for that next installment
in that franchise, Tony Santa Monica, So hurry f up please.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
It's been a lot of rumors. It's been remembered that
it's going to be like a mam Morales style, a
Tray's game. Then they also stated just going to Egypt
and the Pantheon next, but one of these love something
love know something really.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Great and then let's go to the movie category. Kevin, So,
we had a lot of movies come out this year. Obviously,
we talked about a bunch of them in our movie
Fantasy League. Uh. Some of my ones I liked that
didn't make my top ones. F one that was pretty good,
pretty good of a delight for a bad pretty good.
It's on Apple TV. We had Fantastic Four First Steps.

(47:04):
We had Superman as well that also came out this Yeah.
Oh sorry, sorry, sorry, I'll clear it out. I'll clear
that button out next to January Door. Don't need that
one on need this one next year. I'll still need
that one next year. But my honorable mention of a
movie was the one that caught the entire world by surprise,

(47:25):
because while you know, some people mind watched it in
June when it originally came out, a lot of people
watched it in July and August, and then it became
an internet sensation thanks to Netflix K Pop Demon Hunters
is my honorable mention for Movie of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, that movie is. It's on my list right now
because I have a K Pop up, says daughter right now, and.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
I'm just like, and that's what they've been rocking in
the past twenty four hours.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
J Hunters and Cat's Eye is only repeated my house
saying I'm ready to pull my ears off my body.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
Yeah. Hey, Sony Animation, the same team that's done the
across the Spider Verse movies did that movie as well,
so they know what they're doing. They got bangers like that.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
They do, and I'm just like, man, could you do
it less? Whatever you do, that's the best. Take it
down like ten notches.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Let's be okay. I remember I think More was gone
for a weekend. I was like, hell, this movie's been
on Netflix. Let me just try it. And I'm like, wow,
this movie is actually pretty good. Like it wasn't like
a kid even like this was pretty good.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
It's a fine movie. I'm just you know, when you
hear it every day from More to Night, it's.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Just this year's Frozen, this year's Molana.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Let's face it, it's a little grading. That's true.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
That's true, Kevin, what's your honorall mention for movie of
the year.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
My honorable mention for movie of the Year actually is
a movie that was at least twenty years in the making.
When it was announced, everybody was like, Eh, whatever, move
on with it, just be another one of his movies.
But actually end up being pretty good in my opinion,
and I'm happy to get more too.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Oh, that's a good good that Actually you're not wrong
because that movie was decent. For the sadlor Netflix movie,
it's a little kookie any.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
End of it, like Adam Sandler movies do when doing
the future golf thing. But the journey of a man
to find the struggle to find his meaning after death
of a loved one is that's that's a very story,
a story you can tell to anybody because we all
go to that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
That Bunny was funny in it, You know that Bunny.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
Was funny, was pretty funny in it. Who else was
the guy?

Speaker 1 (49:32):
Travis Kelcey's in it? Benny Softy was the bad guy? Correct? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (49:36):
And Adam saydlor again even though he's never been as
when he was first on seeing a dramatic actor. You
can tell he pulled some of his dramatic stuff from
like Punch Drunk Love and agame movie he did. And
also just being Happy Gilmore. He knows Gillmore is. He
kind of feused it together and the cat made a
very very very tragic character that you kind of fell
for and it's root for. So my my altore mention

(49:58):
is Happy Gilmore.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
There you go. I did like it. More did not
like it, But I was like, you know, what, if
you knew what you're going into with this movie, of
like this is gonna be a nineties rehash, you're gonna
have a good time. And it was a good time.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
That's why I thought it would be nice. But like,
I'm actually feeling for this guy. I feel really bad
for him. But he has to hide his liquor and
golf balls. He got his licker at the bottom of
golf of golf bags. Like, good lord man, you're going
through it, buddy.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
I think it worked even despite being a celebrity cameo.
It still worked, you know, because a lot of movies
at their celebrity cameo fests, like I don't know.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
This is gonna be good, but it did exactly exactly,
So yeah, that's mine.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
All right.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
Now, I'm guessing the movie of the Year is elect
you state that's I'm guessing.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Oh yeah, I don't even know what that is. Is
that the one with the robots and Millie Bobby Brown? Yeah?
I did not even watch that movie, so I completely
forgot about that. But movie of the Year, it's the
movie that we think defined the year as a whole.
I there's a fifty percent chance we both picked the

(50:57):
same movie, but I'm not.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
I think he did, even we didn't talk about it,
but I think we.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
Know we both didn't talk about and both saw it
separately from one another. Kevin, what is your movie of
the year?

Speaker 2 (51:10):
Uh, let me see here. Did you asked me?

Speaker 1 (51:14):
How is it going to describe it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (51:16):
That's the rule, because you asked me. Because if you
didn't ask me, I can't tell you. But you asked me,
and now you kind of invited me to tell you.
I can tell you.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Sinners and Sinners decision on this show.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
Maybe Sinners Man that was that January or fed Ward.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
That was April? Yeah, April really wow?

Speaker 2 (51:38):
That came out and blew everyone away, not just some people,
everyone away and I'm not sure there have been too
many movies to come out after it that have been
better this year.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
Especially yeah, uh huh, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
There is the Leo DiCaprio movie that came out. Everybody
loves that movie. There's a glad woke up to that.
Man's been pretty great reviews. But I'm not hearing everybody
say that this movie I enjoyed more than Sinners.

Speaker 1 (52:05):
Mmmm, Paddington in Peru, you got that, But yeah, that's true.
Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler reuniting once again. I mean
the soundtrack lude, Vic Garrison killing it once again, all
the whole cast singing it.

Speaker 2 (52:25):
My God, so good.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
And we talked about it. I talked about it last
week or yeah, last week. Compared it to it Welcome
to Darry having the same similar scenes and like, oh
my god, like Sinners is just like open the door
for those type of storytelling moments to happen, and now
people would be able to reflect on that kind of
how like Watchman did a couple of years ago when
that came out. Michael Jordan killed his twins. And you know,

(52:47):
there's always the rumor that if Chadwick hadn't passed, he
would have been the other brother, which would have been
Hailey Steinfeld killed. I think they actually let me just
go through the whole cast because they deserve shouting. Now
Hailey Sion Fell killed it, wound me, Masaku. You knows
Hunter B four be fourteen or whatever from Loki killed it.

(53:10):
Delroy Lindo killing it as a drunk little old player there.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
He better get nominated for Best Supporting Actor. I'm not
an Oscar person at all, but he better get down.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
Omar Benson Miller aka Cornbread and made this gave me
my money, Jack O'Connell, which I think put this movie
put him on the map of being an Irish vampire,
which was dope as hell. And I don't I don't
like that he is not the top billating. He should
be in the top billion of the cast on this movie,

(53:39):
but he's not.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
You say Jamie Lawnston, the lady from The Batman, and
they shouldn't Running Man as well.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
Yes, correct her as well. And then Myles Kiton there
you go as a preacher boy man. That was a
good movie. Come on, man.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
And much like we were talking about earlier video games,
like everyone game will come out and it will take
over TikTok. This movie took over tick talk for like
a solid month, and damn theories and eater eggs.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
And music evolution of music scene that was good and
iconically for Hoodie, the Irish jig dancing scene that turned
into a hype moment, and then all of a sudden
you're seeing that a comic CON's happening. You're seeing like
a beetlejuice and an Optimus Prime getting it. You're like, hell, yeah,
let's do it.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
This movie was an intersection of cultures like I've never
seen before, Like everybody would welcome, come on in. Everybody
can come see this movie and take something from away
from it. And it was amazing. Not to mention the
one scene that now everybody wants to show out of
the Native American vampire humphs. That needs to be a
spy show, like I.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
Need to see that made sinners right? Is w B right?

Speaker 2 (54:40):
I think it was WB. Yes, w come on, Max,
come on give me it. I mean, that's that's just fun.
This is spells fun the Native American fampire.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
So let us do that. Yeah, I think obviously, I
know a lot of people critique it from the beginning
being really slow, but I think you need that to
build the scenes and build relationships with characters, so that way,
when all hell's breaking loose, literally in the back half
of the movie, you're feeling for these characters.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
And like like I said, of the hell breaking loose,
they did they pull no punches. Yeah, even though they
were singing and dancing and gyrating not even twenty minutes
before that, like blood could split, could spreadle.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
Hailey Steinfeld, that whole scene. I'm not gonna say it,
but you know what's seeing I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Yeah, that was felt about that.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
That was weird. She's pregnant now, so she was pregnant
what two weeks ago? So do the math?

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Everything, Everything works out, Everything works out.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
But I think also I think this was a great
movie because I remember everyone leaving thinking the movies over.
Then we had like ten minutes still left in the movie,
which was great. Of the future flash forward, which is awesome.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
That started off actually actual jazz legend on Buddy Guy
I think his name is playing playing the old version
of Smoke.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Smoke. No Preacher Boy.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Spoke with the one that was still alive. But yeah,
this this movie, like I said, captured and to the
point where it's funny.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Stack was a lot keep going yes, yes, uh, well.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
I took Alicia to see it. She just thought it
was a period piece about African American music itself, was
like vampire's like, oh my god, I know vampires won't
be in it. She's a big horror person. She's like
she loves it from so many different ways. It was
just literally just trapped us for We talked about it
the rest of the rest of the day, and then
like maybe four after that, we're still talking about Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
I think the funniest thing for me was seeing the
movie and then like obviously like Irish jig part, but
that guy means super high because I was like, oh,
because here's the thing. Mori's family is super big into
Saint Patrick's day. So I heard that song all the time,
but never did I connect to that song on a
bigger level than when it played in that movie. And
then so Maura hadn't seen the movie until it came
to HBO Max probably like June or whenever it came out.

(56:53):
It comes out. I'm like, Maura, She's like, why are
you turning up the TV for the series, Like just
you wait, I'm having a great time, and we're playing
that song like the entire anytime we drive anywhere we played,
were playing that song.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
That's a great first first uh, first song for a
car trip. It was a great first song.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
I wrote it down. It's a good time. It's a
good time. But unanimously we can now say Sinners was
our movie of twenty twenty five. Take that a Minecraft movie,
which also came out this year. Take that Wake Up
dead Man, Sorry, wake ked you weren't as good as
the first one.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Take that one battle after another. You know, I heard
you really good.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
But I don't want to. I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
I don't want it.

Speaker 1 (57:34):
It's nominated for too many awards. I don't like it.

Speaker 2 (57:37):
Take that SpongeBob, We're done with you.

Speaker 1 (57:39):
I heard it's good, though I also still want to
see that too, apparently because apparently it's good. Actually, I
don't like when you're not You're not regularnimy. I don't. Yeah,
I don't like a three D but apparently it's good,
so maybe it's worth finally seeing the three D animated Spunchbob.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
We'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
I saw, I saw Tom Kenny and the actor I
forget his name, but the voices Patrick open up Pokemon
cards in care. I'm like, that's what I want, this
peak nineties millennial.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
It really is. My daughter hates the SpongeBob though, because
she kind of let me down in that. On that forefront, Man's.

Speaker 1 (58:11):
There's still hope for for young Kira.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
There's still Yeah, we'll see, we'll see, We'll see.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
Megan her watch wrestling. Put her on SpongeBob right now, Dude,
she does.

Speaker 2 (58:20):
Not any walk. I'm not teaching to it now.

Speaker 1 (58:24):
Hey, he's only mean. Roster will be a lot easier,
so exactly. But let us know what were your shows,
movies and games of the year. It didn't have to
be just a movie or show or again that came
out this year. Could be something you discovered this year
and finally played or watched for more. Gremlins could be
on that list because she finally watched Gremlins for the
first time. Really, if you think about it.

Speaker 2 (58:46):
It's a real quick recap. Andy's any Dragon's number to
mention with Superman. Number one movie was Eternity.

Speaker 1 (58:53):
Oh yes, the Elizabeth Olso movie.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
Yes, yes, herd We'll mention for TV was and or.
Number one show was Percy Jackson and she didn't put
a game in yet. And of course you tell my
game in the year was obscure, because I mean, it's great.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
Gang, it's great. We'll get to it next year when
it's on the top. Yes, unless Grandpa, I thought I'll
beat it out the wazoo. But who knows if that
game will come on next year?

Speaker 2 (59:20):
Yeah, rock starts going to a lot of stuff, Yeah,
lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
But we will be back. Well, actually, make sure the
actual date is correct here. Make sure on one of
those we're in holiday moon. I don't know what next
year looks like. We'll be back January fifth, aka next year,
we'll be talking about our most anticipated movies of the year. Uh,
in preparation of our movie and video game drafts that

run the mill, feel for vibes for some things, and
obviously all the news you missed over the holidays, which
will include some Percy Jackson episodes. It will include Stranger Things,
but the and the finale and so much more. Fifth
that's gonna be a fun time of breaking down everything
in twenty minute chunks.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
We're getting our heartbroken in two weeks here somebody, somebody's
gonna die.

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
Somebody gonna die, and it's gonna be back now on
somebody else.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
So, actually, do you watch the new trailer? But Dustin and.

Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
I did, But you know, I'm like, all right, I
know what I'm getting. Just give it to me, please.
Three four days from now you die.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
I die. I was like, oh my gosh, don't do
that to me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Don't do We'll get more fall up too. I forgot
about watch.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):

from almost eight years ago. Now, if you really think
about it or you want to hear you know, maybe
one of our shows, movies and games of last year
see how we evolved as gamers and critics of the
cinemas in a year's time. You can do that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Yeah, time is definitely a construct. Man, it's good a
lot eight years since since thore that's.

Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
