Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to the nerdy news you need to know
throughout the week on iHeart Radio and b cast services
or around the world. Because my name's Hoodie.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Kevin, and you're officially listening.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
To this Thursday episode of What cav Crisis on Infinite ca.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I am I'm just amazed from these Jurassic World reactions
because apparently i'saw a different movie.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Well, Kevin, no embargo, you're in bargoed. You can't talk
about it. I'll meet you or mic sir if you
get us in trouble. Well, the rule is you can
give reaction. Nope, Kevin, Nope, nope. We are under strict embargo.
And I was told after the movie that we saw
that may or may not be Drastic World rebirth. Uh,
don't we talking about till the day I told you
about earlier.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I still want to know what's playing across from us
because it was very last Ballerina.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
You also can go see that on your own this weekend.
But we got a jam packed show for you today
will not involve a certain movie of dinosaurs. That'll be
about a week and a half. Kevin will get you
covered with that. Don't worry. But what we are talking
about today is l e O the new Disney Pixar movie.
Gonna talk about some Marvel news with the Fantastic Four
and X Men Clay Face, that movie that should or
(01:24):
should not be happening, I don't know. We'll talk about
that and a big topic today. What do we want
in the next Pirates Caribbean movie?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Swords? All the swords, bring.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
In all the rum in that too, more rum references gone.
Because here's the thing, I'm an adult now, I know
what rum is and how rum tastely?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Are you a rum guy?
Speaker 1 (01:46):
No? I don't know, no, but you know what, I
want to go to the specialty menu with the Alamo
draft House and get the rum drink they're gonna have
most likely for a Pirates movie.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Made from I'm all right, well Kevin's doing that.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You can do a little quick Google and go to
infinite underscore pods on the Instagram and the next go
and give it to you where we give you all
the nerdy news you need to know. And yes, Andy
Drog on my hand will be hovering over Kevin's mute button,
essentially like a Doctor Evil from Austin Powers hovering over
his little chair dump button ready to go. It's like
if you see Kevin slide off his chair and that's
(02:24):
probably what I hit. And technically, Kevin, that chair you
can't do that. Oh I got to just lean back and.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I'll take plenty of naps down here.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
And I know the limits of the I know the
limits of this chair. It's only had a little leg stand.
Some chairs do have that nowadays. That would be great,
We'll kick back. But Kevin, where can I go to
watch us in visual form? Maybe interact with the show.
We'll recording live like Andrew drogon just did you can react.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
With us live on twitch dot tv slash if to
underscore pods for to crack his crew in the chat
and join the fun, or watch us on the man
at YouTube dot com slash if the score pots. Well,
we have multiple episodes we can watch from years and
years gone by. And by the way, rum it is
made from sugar cane.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Who would have thought the more you know, the more.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
You know, grapes is wine. Grapes wine. I don't drink,
so I don't know a lot of things.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
One day, one day, no, never at all. Actually, Kevin
will never do that's.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Signe Wine's nasty one.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Day one day. But Kevin, we always start to pod it. Well,
it depends if it's a moscatto. You'll drink a good moscatto.
That's like juice. Kevin, you would like mescatto juice. That's
a good entry wine for you to drink.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I had it once. I was like, no, it don't
taste like juice. This is wine. This is medicine.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Kevin's like, I'll just have my little communion wine and
that's it. Not tell anybody me a cherry.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Limemaid and leave me alone.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
All right, there you go. This is the Blood of
Christ cherry lime maid flavor. But we start the podcast
properly by doing something we like to call what You
Doing where we talked about the shows and movies we've
been watching, games, we've been playing, we've been living, and
because it is Thursday, yeah boy gets to go first
(04:07):
and overall pretty chill in the hood, Household, Dragon Ball,
Super I have been introduced to Hit the Assassin, which
is fun because he's like, well it's cool action figures that.
When I was a game stop we sold, I was like,
I don't know who the hell this man is, but
he's got cool vibe, you know, saying that's a lot
of dragon Ball characters.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I'm happy to going through dragon Ball like that because
it's like I feel like, since it's not on TV
like it used to be, it's not the hype isn't there,
but people are still kind of.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Like, oh, the hype is is there? So because obviously
we have the video games, but dragon Ball Dima it
was what it's kind of carrying the narrative forward. I
don't know if Dragon Ball Diama just finished up, and
I think the dub episodes are coming out now. I
don't know if it's getting two seasons now or it's
just the one season it is. Oh no, it's over
(05:00):
all right, So that was it. It was one and done. Okay,
there we go. That's good for me then, and and
love it. So I'll catch up finally and be done
with dragon Ball until they do something different. But yeah,
it's been great and I think I'm just gonna wait
to watch the whole series and finally play Sparking Zero.
I did realize it's funny. A lot of people have
turned on Sparking Zero because they're like, this is boring.
(05:22):
This game doesn't update at all, and it's like, guys,
this is what we wanted. It's a Budakayt and Katchi's
the successor. All you want is just mindless fighting with
action figures. It's all we want.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I think it's kind of hard in some places.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, I mean, granted, I'm gonna play on easy ass
easy mode, you know, but like I know, like some
of the challenges for like the spin off, what if
stories were a little like finished this in five seconds
or something like that, But that's what that game is.
You know that that game is going to be like, oh,
you don't want that game to be a super live
service or it ruins the game, like, oh, we're gonna
(05:55):
get this the Seal Saga next, Well, he took us
six months.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
I mean, we all know. There's only one, I'll say,
to successful last service game right now. That's Fortnite and
Destiny the only ones that actually.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
And destinybody else and this will be the test of
Nintendo MIC is launching right now. I think it's kind
of in its Destiny too, is in its tail end
era up until Destiny three, because you know, Marathon got
definitely paused.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
So that that's probably three is probably gonna be crazy. Yeah,
and whenever it's on the PS seven or whenever that
comes out, but it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, So that's been fun. Besides that, I've been just
really busy, so I haven't really played anything else minus
going to movie theater for a bunch of things. And oh,
I guess Eric and I did do a fry challenge
at five Guys on Tuesday, and it's a new TikTok
trend where you see how many fries you actually get
(06:51):
if you order a little fry at five Guys and
you count them one by one. Essentially, it's like a
two minute video ninety four fries in our little order fries,
which that's a lot. Like I feel like, are you
never really count your fries? Really when you go somewhere?
It seems like a lot. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
And the funny thing is there was an article a
couple of years ago about the suggested serving of fries
you should eat.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Mm hm and the number is a lot loading you think,
oh is it? It's ninety right, so we only four
more than we should have, No, twelve? Now what type
of fries? We call them nubbins or we call them
the big ones because a lot of people in the
comments of that video like those are nubbins that don't count.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I think your standard like McDonald's size or like even
five guys size fries, like serving between twelve to fifteen
ounces of fries.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Four ounces or number twelve to fifteen.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Which is like three ounces of fries. Basically that's suggested serving.
But we are not eating three ounces of fries. We're
eating five, six, maybe seven.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
So you're saying the little fry three people should probably yes,
or maybe four people or maybe which is maybe five
people actually really thinking about it, just not.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Have it now. I'm not saying fries are healthier than
people say they are, but if you make them at home,
they'd be very They can be actually pretty good for you,
depending on how you make them. But you know, when
you get them at McDonald's they've been frozen forever and whatever.
But if you cutch on tailor at home, you know,
hold it up and do all the things actually be
pretty good for you.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Now, Kevin, including five guys, what is your fast food
fried choice, since we're talking about French fries?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Is my fast food fried choice? Actually?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Okay? Now, removing five guys, what's your five choice? Including
Taco Bell's nacho.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Fries, I've never had those actually, Okay, honestly, if I
can find only one I know of right now off
the top of my head, is there's one in Where
is that place? Dang it? The mang Annapolis and Hershey
Park Nathan's Fries.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Okay, yeah, I was like, what's the place these two locations.
I'm like, what is the place called? Kevin?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yeah, there's nathan somewhere else in the area, because like
I'm wanna go on door dash sometimes I can door
dash Nathan's.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Like where that's a ghost kitchen, Kevin, that's not.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Somebody's that bought it from the superfrom the market and
like they're just cooking it at home.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I would go with Arby's a curly fry. I'm down
all day. They're too, but there's not a lot of Arby's,
especially in this area.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
And you know Arby's roast beef sandwiches, but curly fries.
If you could get that fry with a different sandwich.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Golden never had a non chicken tender meal from my Arby's.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
You never had the actual roast beef sandwich. They got
the meats, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I've never I almost ordered that one time and they
had it. It was like the roast beef, bacon, pulled
pork turkey, Like that doesn't day.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Kevin, we gotta get you a meat mountain. That's what
you're you're saying right now.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
It's called something like that. But now usually to only
get chicken tenders from Arby Little ge anything that's okay.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Well, see I feel like with the roast beef sandwich,
and you know this is how you know I don't
have anything going on right now because Arby's is I
think there's a version where it's like a small like,
oh yeah, have for fifty cents more, you can get
double the meat and then double the meat is just
way too much, but the little meat just is too little.
So you gotta find the balance.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I did one time with toward Rogers. I ordered, by mistake,
the double ar burger, which is the burger with the
with the Bros beef on.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Top of it. That was very filling, very very very
very filling. I don't think the one pie work is
there anymore. Actually, Kevin on a set, well, it's it's
actually a good thing because that was one of the
food drops we relied on a lot that was always,
oh this is cold This is from yesterday, isn't it?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yeah? The food quality yet, why Rogers isn't the best?
Sometimes depending on when I.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Got the toppings bar toppings bar we got we got
toppings dope here? Yeah, there you go. Yeah, but Kevin,
that's what I've been doing.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
What have you been doing?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Good, Sarah As you've been solo it up to this
past couple of days. Yeah, kid lists for the past
day and a half. I'm not Yeah, twenty minutes. We're
gonna have a guest on the show today. That's okay,
she'll be hearing about twenty minutes. Let's get through this podcast.
We got twenty five minutes.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Besides that, I did hang out with my boys yesterday.
Mister bean hoodie, you got to see a movie together
in Tyson's Corner. Tyson's Corner. Mall is just way too big.
It really really intimidates me.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Time you got Popeyes. They just opened up Popeyes for you.
There you go.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Popeas was good. The biscuit was questionable, but the rest
of it was good.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
It was a little hard looking, a little hard of
a biscuit. It was a little bird.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
I can hear that. It's kind of one of the biscuits,
Buck you got to hear it. Yeah, so that was cool.
On the team, you got to say it was cool.
Driving home in the rain was okay. It wasn't great,
but it's okay. Other than that, I wmember, I told
you last episode, I started a game that that played
a million times. Well today I beat it. So I
beat Arkamisado for the for the first time in a while.
But like maybe like the fifteenth twentieth time dark Silent.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Did you find a secret room teas in Arkham City?
Speaker 2 (11:48):
I did that before I turned it off, and then
after I did that, I promptly downloaded Arham City. So
that's next.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Now, did you get all the Riddler trophies? Kevin? I
don't feel like, Oh, Kevin, come on, once you beat
the game that's had that's about a third of the
game is finding all the really trophies. And Kham is
Arkham Asylum. It's he that's the easy ones. The city
and at night to get complicated.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Funny thing is, though, like I remember most of them
were playing them. Of them, I'm just like, I don't
feel like it. I'm gonna do it. Arkham City, I
mean Arkham Knight, because the only way to get their
true ading Arham Knight.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
I do everything.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
So I'm like, I'm gonna say all my ready trophies
for Arkham Knight. I'm not going to do them in
Alcoam City or Arkham Asylum. If I see him, I'll
get them, but I'm not looking for him now.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Man. I really wish I don't think it is. I
wish Arkham Origins was backwards compatible, like or like you
could play it on game Pass or something natively.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I think because that was a w B game. I
don't know what's going on with that game passed up.
That game was actually if you could get past the
dag going that, that's that stroke fight, that stroke fight,
and that fight was hard when it got past that.
It was actually a pretty fun game, honestly. But it's
not Arkham Asylum. I was getting really frustrated because I
(13:02):
played arka Night a billion times and Batman is so
fluid on that game and Arkham silent. He's just like,
it's very very better words stiff, you know what I mean.
That's fluid as the other games. I'm trying to do
free floor and combos, but it's like everything has to
wait like for to do that button and do this button.
It wasn't like so I was gonna kind of frustrate it,
(13:23):
but I ended up being a bet on Hard. It
was pretty cool. I've played on Hard in a while.
But otherwise it was pretty a pretty smooth experience. That's
not how creepy that game was to.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
So apparently Arkham Origins can only be played on the
PS five because I just googled that one only through
cloud streaming through PlayStation Plus Premium. So if you got
that one, you can playah, just to get to it.
I'm good, I'm okay, I'm okay.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
I watched a replay video on YouTube. Yes pretend, I mean,
but I find how creepy that game was to sometimes,
like especially all the the scarecrow puzzles, the scarecrow thing,
and how like you will see Batman coughing. What is
it coughing? I realized fear talk time.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Or it'd be like if you're looking, I always got
scared this. I played that as probably like fourteen or
something like that would be looking for the little Spirit
of Arkham little puzzle. Yeah, and it is funny how
like you look at Arkham Asylum and the the menu
UI is very like gothic looking, and it's like, oh,
(14:30):
it's got creepy. And then Arkham Asylum is just all
high tech, and Arkham City it's all high tech and
everything moving forward.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
It was funny. I didn't know how much how much
of the plot Arkham Knight borrowed from arkhamasylm.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Oh yeah, because they got bringing full circles the conclusion
of the saga for then.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
The Arkham Asylum, you know, Poison plans to take over
and then dropp Now Narkham Knight, now it takes over,
but ark of Knight, you know, spoiler.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I'm not going to say it now, Kevin, cause you are.
I'm assumingn You're on about to do Arkham City eventually.
The Night is after you finished Night, are you going
to finish the true saga and start Suicide Squad kill
the Justice League? No, it's offline mode. Now just play
the story.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
I'm good, I'm good. I dont need to do that.
I don't do that. I don't do Gotham Knights either.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
What about Gotham City impostors, Remember that that's been off game,
that happened for hot second.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
I'll do my My quadrilogy is Arkham Mortons, Arkham, Arkham Asylum,
Markham Knight, Arkham Cityckham Knight. I'm good with Suicide Squad
and Gotham Knights with the weird gladder that Nightwing has
so weird.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
It's so weird. If anything else, Kevi, you've been doing it.
That's it? All right, Well, let's get on into it
because it is time. Hold on, make sure for the news, Kevin,
did you hear that one?
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I didn't hear that one?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
All good, Well, hopefully you hear this one. Summer. We
have to talk about Elio, the new Disney and Pixar movie,
which is officially out as of this podcast recording out
in theaters. You can check it out this weekend. Your
Boy got to see it, hosted a screen for it
in DC with Eric which was always fun, which is
(16:19):
where we filmed that five guys a Little TikTok and
the two other ones that are also on My TikTok
At Andrew Hoody. It's a good time, little Cutzi. But
it was actually surprisingly for this Pixar movie that I
hadn't really no idea about what was going on. Besides
the kid went to outer space. Very good and very
heartwarming of a of a Pixar movie, which like, yeah,
(16:41):
it's a Pixar movie, you have to expect that with them.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Elo and Ellio's Pizza didn't look up for this.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
You know, what's Elio's pizza Pizza? Oh you're right, Well
it's a different spelling of Elio. So maybe that's why
we didn't want to confuse you, you know. But yeah,
so this one, essentially, if you don't know what it is,
it is about a kid named Elio obviously who his
parents died and his aunt essentially adopted him. She works
(17:12):
for the Air Force, so there, he's a base kid.
He lives on base, goes to school on the base
and all that stuff. But he is obsessed with outer
space because they went to an airspace museum and she
got lost and got fascinated with the planetarium, which I'm like, hell,
yeah we all did. We all did in middle school
and like here's the planetarium. Enjoys space for one day
(17:34):
and never get to go again. But ELO's obsessed with that.
He tries to make contact. It turns out this division
of Air Force is very akin to astronauts and stuff,
some Prime Space Force. But they were like, no, we're
just gonna make Air Force, but Elio is essentially sent
to outer space and he is picked as the ambassador
(17:55):
for Earth with this group, big group of people called
the Communiverse, which is ambassadors from every planet, and he
has to prove to them and himself that he truly
has what it takes to be his own man. And
that family comes in all shapes and size. It's like
a typical Disney and Pixar movie.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Sounds very sweet. I don't. I actually wanted to see
this this weekend, but maybe I gonna see you tomorrow
because I saw that to take the kid to daycare
and I'll see about myself tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
We could take the kid with you. Parent friendly screening. No, no, okay,
that's how I head back up.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
By myself right now.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
But yeah, I went into this not really like thinking
this was gonna be good. It was really it actually not.
It very impressed me a lot. So if you haven't
seen any trailers or anything, I think it's well worth
the time. Not necessarily you need to go out and
see it in theaters, but it is worth a watch
in whatever form you watch that, whether it's Disney Plus
or on demand or anything, or on a plane or
(18:54):
something like that it's very cute. Besides, Zoey's Aldonna is
the ant in the movie. But beside that, most of
the cast not really like known actors, which isn't a
bad thing because I think that it did pretty good.
Jamila Jamil is in it from the Good Place and
she's Titanny and she Hulk and then the brother from
(19:17):
Everybody Loves Raymond is the villain. I forget, I don't know.
Oh yeah, essentially, yes, so it makes sense he's the
villain because he has a villain voice. But besides that,
I really liked it. I thought it was very good.
Just like the ending was very abrupt, and that's okay,
but I thought it was very just good of like,
you know, like he doesn't have a family, but this
(19:38):
group welcomes them in. And what is family? Well, it
depends what you want and kids changing and you're having
a weird kid and having to deal with a weird
kid like that.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
You know, I was a weird kid. I don't think.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
We're that's perspective.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Was I a weird kid? Mom? Mom?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Tell me? Was I a weird kid?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
I was a weird kid. Now I have weird kids.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
You know how they feel Kevin, but overall, if I
would get to a score out of ten. Oh, actually,
this part of the theater review they have at amc
UH for this movie they have It's Glordon's glop icy flavor. Essentially,
it's a watermelon icy. It is actually pretty good. Do
(20:21):
not sleep on that because it was really good and
mix as well with the coke icy as well, so
much that we convinced a couple of people the next yesterday,
the day after screening, to get that, including Kevin.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I want to say, I know I can't talk about
the movie Saw, but I will say that Icy was amazing.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Yeah, so bub all else take advantage of that no
matter what movie you're seeing this weekend.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
You know a lot of snacks they have in movie theaters.
They should really move the move the snacks in front
of the ticket counter. So maybe I don't. Maybe you pay,
like I don't know, a dollar to get in. You
can go get your watermel you can' get it anywhere else.
You can go to something elevening at that so you
can go to amc stop there get warm anouncing.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Well, I think it's just that theater, that theater because
in the ma all like you have to kind of
get a security check. But most theaters nowadays, like I'm
trying to think of normal theater. Yeah, technically if the
Silver Spring one we go to, you can buy the
concessions on your own and leave like they don't check
you until you buy the theater.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
By the way, I was mad because when I bought
my popcorn for yesterday, I look down and apparently now
they have kebl Corn and ABC.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I was pissed. I didn't see it next time next
time Kevin, which will be soon, which will probably be
soon about three weeks or two weeks, so, but I
would give it out of those icys I would give it.
I give it a nine out of ten. I thought
it was really good. I think if you're gonna look
rank it amongst you know, the pick Star movies with
Incredibles and Toy Story and Coco Wally bringing in the
(21:42):
top ones, finding Nemo stuff like that, I would say
probably little Meds here. I think Soul Turning Red than this.
I would say, like out of the recent ones.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Okay, and you see I'm Elemental, right, No, I've still
not seen Elemental.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
I think it might be better just based on why
I know. I think it might be better than Elemental
because I just feel like Elemental it didn't resonate at
all to me, but I just probably haven't seen it.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
So that's probably why Elementals you more now because you're married.
Will Now I feel like maybe in a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Maybe that's what I'll watch it this weekend.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yeah, that's gonna know. Because this movie didn't get I
feel like it wasn't marketed.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
No, I do think unfortunately, Disney has been doing a
terrible job of marketing it's Pixar movies in recent years
compared to like before the pandemic. And this is also
just a victim of how Train Your Dragon came out
last week le and Stage came out three weeks ago.
So now's usually when everyone's families go see those movies
because they're cheaper, you know, if you have bigger families.
(22:46):
So I think this one will kind of suffer from that. Unfortunately,
twenty eight years later, Complete Opposite and comes out this year,
so all the you know, single adults, the will go
see that. The dinks like me will go see that
instead of Elliot, but go see Allio. It's dead.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I mean, it's no shame my game. I think I've
gone seen a few a few picked on movies as dates,
like yeah, uh, me and my we were dating at
the time. We saw Inside Out together that movie, went
to see Well.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
The first movies movie more and I saw it together
was Wrecket Ralph and we saw a photo from to
go see It. So that's fun.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
That's awesome. We wreck ralf three trilogy, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Come on, turn turn one of those. Make give us
the record Ralph Land. We want that that it makes sense.
We just wrecked going to Racket. Well, you know, there's
a rumor it's never gonna happen, but there's a rumor
that one day they might turn Tower of Terror into
a Record Ralph Ride. That would be funny where it's
the fix It Felix. Like the actual game, we had
to climb the tower, rat Ralph breaks it and then
(23:45):
Felix fixes it so you go back up.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
That's funny. I kind of hope they don't do that,
but it'll be funny.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Give me a mini version of that right somewhere else
and I'll enjoy it, like it's just Tower Terror, but
it's picks are over.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
I changed one of the California your two Guardians. I
feel like the Disney Disney US like, no, you're changing.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
We don't like it exactly, but overall, go see it
if you can, matter no matter what form, I think
it is well worth your time. But Kevin, switching up
from talking about movies that are coming out this weekend,
let's talk about a movie that's coming out next month,
Fantastic four, because the hype and box office projections are
doing so well, they're already starting on Fantastic four to two,
(24:28):
which is great F two squared F Wait, they'll be
F three cube great f F two. So wait, man.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
One reason I'm not here and I still in high
school because I kind of cheat it on my math final.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
I'm gonna tell you, I'm gonna tell your teacher. I
ain't gonna tell your teacher, Kevin. But according to Variety,
an untitled Fantastic four follow up is one of several
currently on dated marbl projects in development, alongside Ryan Cooglar's
Black Panther three, which makes sense and Denzel Washington probably
attached at this some point, and the long delayed Blade reboot,
(25:05):
which after the movie we saw last night, Mahurst looks
jacked like he got the muscles so he definitely trained
up for that movie, so he.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Definitely had the twenty four pythons on full display.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
So they're like, hey, get ready to see him more
in action movies, but more in a leather suit next time.
Most likely I.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Won't be surprised to see he's a two time Oscar.
I wouldn't be surprised to do more like fun movies.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Oh yeah, especially like I don't know how the you know,
an Oscar movie films versus a Marvel movie films lengthwise,
I assume like, yeah, the artistic film is a lot quicker,
but like, if you can get paid and just get
to chill in like Thailand or in England for however
long you want, why not get that money? But obviously
(25:50):
we know Fantastic four comes out a little over a
month from now, with the second one getting sequeled, Kevin,
we obviously don't know how the first one ends, and
it does involve a unders Doom's Day and Secret Wars.
What's a random other Fantastic Four villain you would want
to see in the sequel thing?
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Boom?
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Okay, sure you want to see the Dragon finally.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Yeah, Spye the Dragon, Spy the Dragon. That's that fun
with it.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
I think it'll be interesting too, because like a lot
of the Fantastic Four villains, they've kind of done in
a ways. Obviously Doctor Doom, we've done super scrolls. We're
getting Galactus, we've done scrolls. Moment, a couple of the
villains look like they're going to be like introduced in
sort of a a montage in the movie, it was
(26:37):
revealed that what the hell was the Fantastic Four cover?
The villain from fan do you do?
Speaker 2 (26:49):
You know? I have no idea what you're talking about cover?
Speaker 1 (26:55):
It's the what the hell is it? Okay? Anyway, there's
a villain that got teased that is probably popping up
in this movie in the montage. It'll be interesting to
see what villain, like the more has already been in
Black Panther. Technically, yeah, King to an agree, that's the
whole thing. We'll get there and get their egos been
a thing. So to see who they pick is a
second villain in that franchise.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
It would be interesting if they hope they don't, but
they try to reheat the whole Korean scroll thing m hm,
using the Fantastic Four as like the bases of their
like you know, villainy or whatever like that, because I
mean Sun basically kind of killed that and something like
the Marbles because it wasn't great, but maybe they could
be the ones that kind of make it actual.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Scrolls are cool again.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Well, if they do the thing about with the encourasion
and make one world one, two worlds one, maybe that's
one that things can roll over, like the bad scrolls
can root over and the good scrawls go whatever they go.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Wow, Kevin, you know what's funny is I think you
made that prediction about five years ago. We were like, oh, yeah,
when the world's merged, because that seems very familiar. We've
said that before. I do you think obviously the Fantastic
Four story overall will be part of Doomsday and Secret
Wars to degree maybe we get like that Illuminati reference
(28:10):
at least in Secret Oars or something, just like, oh,
that's the Four, that's the Illuminati, But then people like
it's Illuminati. But we're not gonna do that in Marvel nowadays.
That's the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
You know, that would be cool too, because I mean,
they will never do it because of the way the
rights are work working out with the Hulk, but it
will be cool to if like the next saga was
like the Illuminati saga, it's literally about them sending a
hawk away like that would be pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Maybe, I think it'll be interesting. And I think with
that too, though, you have to have Mark, like Mark
Ruffalo in a villain role, and Mark Ruffalo is rarely
in a villain role. I mean, I know in Mickey
seventeen he has a villain role, but it is more
of a parody villain role than an actual, like, oh
evil role, like Gotta take your series. It's okay, it's
(28:57):
not the It's not my favorite type of sci fi.
It's definitely more psichi than entertaining. But that's not the
only news we got from this Variety article, Kevin, because
who's essentially been confirmed to give us that X Men
movie in the near future.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Of director of The Thunderbolts. Give me a second to
get his name here real quick, do? I just had
to tweet up too. That's the sad part. I was
actually reading it and doing my job researching Jake Schreier,
who actually just directed The Thunderbolts, which did well critically
didn't make any of the demo money, which.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Is wild still didn't make sense but okay.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
He'll be directing the X Men movie. And we kind
of we didn't predict this, but we say it would
be cool if yeah, a few weeks ago, you know
what I mean. Yeah, So I'm happy to came it
came to trip became light.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, and like like we said, I think during the
Thunderbolts review, because I think at the time he was
still it was being discussed, and now it seems like
it's actually like solidified. Like if home dude can do
a great team up movie, he can do it better
with you know, some some eight a team level character,
eight tier talent of Marvel, of Marvel characters, not actors.
(30:03):
Florence Peugh's amazing, but like, all right, we got a Wolverine,
a Cyclops, a storm, a professor ax and stuff like that.
Interesting thing is Marvel has been shuffling around its release dates.
They did reveal that a fourth MC movie and that
it's untitled, will be coming in twenty twenty eight, which
is wild because that's three years from now, but it'll
(30:24):
come fast. And you would assume once Secret Wars is done,
X Men's where you go in the next direction of
Phase eight or whatever we are in after Secret Wars.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Oh a thing that said it's going to be twenty
twenty eight. I don't know if that's true or not,
because that seems pretty close.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I mean not really think about it there because they're
filming Secret or Doomsday now, and I assume Secret Wars
would be like probably later this year, so that would
be the next project of whether they tease characters or
it's new actors. They're not really involved with everything going
on with Secret Wars and Doomsday point.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
And then they also allown said that they've locked in
a date of December twenty twenty eight, so maybe it
feels like they're moving towards that Star Wars strategy of
maybe not all the holidays, and I mean that the
summer time, and now they want to yeah the time,
I think.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
I think also it depends on what movies are releasing
in December, like an Avengers, Yeah, that will get people
in seats. But unfortunately, I think a shunk Chi wouldn't
do well in the holiday season because people were like, oh,
I'll see that, like that's a February or March movie,
which is when shann Chi came out. But if you
put an X Men or Black Panther three out in December.
People immediately go see that.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Oh definitely, that's a good point too. Any exciting kind
of seem Marvel is getting out of the bunk. I
want to say that it was in for a while.
I think Fantastic four will be pretty good. I'm not
I'm not saying it's gonna be the best. It's gonna
be a top ten.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
It'll be entertaining, for sure, definitely be entertaining.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
It will definitely I think it would be more.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Not wonderful, but like what's the word looking for whimsy?
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Whimsy? Yeah, to school school. I feel like it's coulda
be like the first season.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Of Flash where he's like, man, this is nice. I
like this team, but with with science, like here's here's
the science.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
We're using the science to do the science.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Science. Well, hey, they revealed the merch and they got
thing hands, So that means we're close to getting hull
cans again in the near future.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
So this means you're about to have to make a
video if you're fighting.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Yeah, come on, I sent him a picture. I'm like,
I'm buying for these for you next time we hang out.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
So we we gotta get the hull hand. I mean
the thing hands could get the I don't know if
you remember this as a kid tretch or armstrong. We
need actual stretch Trutchy.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
That is one thing they actually didn't show. They didn't
have like everything else is like yeah, but it was like, oh,
it's just he has a long arm action figure, not
like you can stretch it or anything.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
I kind of also hope that they they kind of
show off how strong not only Too Stormy is, but
also Johnny Storm torch, because you actually can he can
burn hotter than the sun.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Like he's give me a human torch, a little lighter
where it's his mouth, his head and he tilted back
and then shit.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Oh hope they released they released you know how you
go to Target and they had a pact all the
figures and type of thing. Hope, Susan Storm is just
empty because he's invisible.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Kevin's like, I'll buy it, you know what, Kevin, that
is probably the comic con exclusive that will be selling
at one of the Booze that comic on this year.
Genius Genius lot. I'll buy a hundred of them for
their thirty five dollars each. But yeah, I think Fantastic Four,
like it looks like it's on the right track. I
(33:38):
think ultimately we kind of said this or I think
earlier this week or last week, Superman in Fantastic Four
aren't really competing against each other. They're kind of competing
with one another of like they both aren't really like
they're three weeks apart whatever, but they're both kind of
going back to putting superheroes in a whimsical way, like
(33:58):
we just said. And it'll be interest to see if
audiences takes to both of those.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
So both both friends have to do to two things.
One has to launch a franchise, be good and make
a good amount of money, which Superman. The other one
has to actually renew and not just I think they
already happened with On the Bolts, but re engage a
franchise fans for the next big team of movie, the Avengers,
and make money.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
So both of both of these movies makes and also
just the elephant in the room for all this for
Marvel Ironheart, which that comes out next week with three
episodes and we found out uh the week after will
be the last three episodes, so that is going to
be a come and go and then pay attention to
fantastic for it's actually good.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
I guess strategy because I mean and know and or
one more Indoor did it? Daredevil did it? Something like that?
It was three, then like two and it was one
a week after that work, So I think people do
kind of want that that drop every week. So just
getting getting getting all of them or gets in one week.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, because I mean that's a complaint more than I
always have as we binge watch and catch up to
a show and like crap, we gotta wait four weeks
now to finish the show.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
And I don't think iron Heart is gonna I don't
think it's gonna be bad like Horribly Horby will be
bad like Secret Invasion. But I also don't think it's
gonna be the Penguin, you know.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
I mean yes, and you know, we'll talk about iron
Heart probably on Monday, just predictions, and then obviously we'll
talk about it next next week when it comes out,
which is wild finally that's coming out after all this time.
Armor Wars your next you're next on the docket where
we're waiting for you to come out.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
I think that's done.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
I think it's also pausitive, definitely like.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
They canceled as well. What's kind of sad. I'll bet
Hiss assemble any more of them. Yeah, the documentary series.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Oh, they don't do that anymore.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
I feel, well, maybe we'll find out with iron Heart.
Maybe we'll do one for iron Heart.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Well, maybe I'll just change the name of it. It
becomes kind of like Marvel.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Is Marvel Legends. That's what it's called. It's called Marvel Legends.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Now, the legends of the one. They were released like
clips of all the.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Oh you're talking about the behind the scenes dock memories. Yeah,
it's okay. That's because then the nerdy nerds like us
for loans have watched it, so that's it. Then you
get the rest of the clips on TikTok so exactly.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
But that was kind of second I kind of like
watching those.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Well maybe maybe, but overall, you know, it's gonna be
a fun time in the next month. I said this
to Eric today of like, yeah, June's over and we've
had so many concerts, so many movies, and not really
the lost shows, but we're getting to the shows come
out this month. I'm like, we got two months left
of this summer and a butt ton of things are
coming out still for the rest of the two months.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yeah, I'll be right back if we'll get our guests.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Now that's okay, I'm gonna switch over to Clay talk
about Clay Face, Kevin, So when you come back, we're
gonna talk about Clay. Don't worry about okay. Okay. So,
in case you didn't know to talk about things that
can stretch and malleable, like mister Fantastic, we have to
talk about DC's version of that two degree because Clay Face.
Uh well, the movie has now found it's Clay Face,
(36:57):
and said actor is Tom Reese Harry's And if you're
trying to realize who is that, he's kind of more
of a newcomer actor than a more established presence. We've
kind of known most likely you've seen him in the
Apple TV show Suspicion. He was in Dragonheart, which is
a movie that came out in twenty seventeen. But besides that,
(37:17):
he's a thirty two year old britt which we always
love that. And he will be the dcu's Clayface. And
we've kind of talked about how this movie has been
kind of looking for that new actors there was a
bunch of actors sort of in the role, but James
Gunn announced earlier this week that Rehees Harris will be
playing the character. It's still looking like it will come
(37:38):
out September twenty twenty six, potentially, but according to Gunn,
after long and incredibly exhausted search, we finally have our DCU,
Clayface and Tom. Both Matt Reeves and I were just
blown away by this guy and can't wait for you
to see this film. Directed by James Watkins and directed
by Mike Flanagan. So Mike Reeves is gonna be executive producer,
(37:59):
so it's part Batman. It's got James Gunn executive producer,
so it's part DCU. And Mike Flanagan, who you know,
you know but doing all the haunting stories on Netflix,
will be writing the script. So they're probably gonna lean
a little more horror based than probably The Penguin. And
James Watkins directed The Woman in Black and Speak No Evil,
(38:22):
so very horror, modern y horror movies. Yes, okay, okay,
all right, sure, I get that.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
James Gunn wants to keep doing the thing where they
have these else world stories like The Batman, basically else
world story the Joker to a degree, I guess the
Penguin is along with Batman's it's the elseworld story. But
also I feel like, to use a term from Radio James,
please just played it.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Its I don't yeah, and that, and that's kind of
been the general reaction to the clay Face thing, is like, oh, Okay,
we're actually we're doing this thing. It wasn't just that
we're talking about it and we're gonna refine because the
clay Face thing, I think was announced maybe last year
they were gonna start working on the movie. And right
now where we are with the DCU and you know,
(39:15):
the Penguin did great, and we all love the Penguin,
but with the Batman being on hold so much, and
you know DCU really relying on Superman this year then
Lantern and everything, I don't know where this fits. And
I know we've talked about the Elseworld's thing, which is
what technically the Batman's gonna fall under where it's DCU,
but it's not cannon to the Superman DCU and all
(39:37):
that stuff. But I think you gotta streamline things to
a degree, and I think this is the problem DC's
gonna face the next few years is Hey, sure we
love the Batman, but like, either connect it or make
it come out, because you're deally dallying with it and
it's gonna hurt your studio more than when Marvel can
get all these things in By the time we get
(39:58):
a Batman too.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Paper DC does have the more of the larger, I
want to say, popular roster when it comes to just
the names of heroes. I mean, any day of the week, Superman, Batman,
and Wonder Woman are bigger names than Iron Man, Captain
America and Thor.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
It's just this is what it is.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
It's Superman was the first who here ever, so I mean,
come on, But when I hear like he wants to
do this and the first thing they released was Creature
Creature Commandos, I want you do something called the Authority,
I'm like, listen, dude, you can do all of that
after you launch the Trinity one Woman, Batman, Superman, get
a Batman movie down along with a Superman movie, and
(40:41):
start more moving towards a Justice League team up. Because
I mean, I'm not I'm not trying to say that's
the only way you can do it. But at the
same time, if if you're successful on those three things,
then you can do what you want, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Yeah, and I really think too, is one of the
comments on this articles, Like, I see DC is taking
the page from Sony's playbook of let's get every villain
into a project of their own instead of flushing them
out any actual Batman movie or something like that. I
think that's something. Maybe this clay Face stuff, you know,
(41:13):
was announced when we were getting Venom three and and
every and then Elban Wirte, remember that was gonna be
a movie at one point, and maybe I think, I mean,
the interesting thing is though, with Mike Flannagan attached, like
it's pretty legit, But Mike flannagan's a busy dude nowadays,
like he's doing a carry boot Life of Chuck. The
movie just came out, and he's got a bunch of
(41:36):
other things like in the works of Netflix and everything.
So be interesting to see this project and what comes
out of it and who drop I have a feeling
a lot of people are gonna drop out of it
before filming starts.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
I think it's who I don't know what's gonna want
to behind the scenes, But right now you don't have
a bat We don't have we don't have a Batman,
don't know who Batman is in the DCU, yes, BCU,
and also we don't have a Batman sequel to the
Batman that came out.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
One good point and Clay Face would have been a
good villain.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
And like he's doing a lot of work to do,
like because we know we all know from Guardians, James
Gunnan likes to do scared, weird stuff part of part
of a comic books, to do the extential stuff, like
I know at some point with what we're going into
the New Apocalypse with with with the the ultra humanoid
and all that kind of stuff, And no, we're going
to at some point with that's where his mind is.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
We tried at one point with Ava Duverney and then
I could cancel it.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
So but what I'm saying is that's school. You want
to do all that stuff, James, But please give me
at least at least if you don't do a Justice
League movie, please give me at least a World's Finest
where Superman and Batman meet for the first time, because
Joha Kingdom and trumps simple.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
I think, so simple, But I think the interesting thing
is because we're kind of flipping things. We're done with
clay Face. We've talked enough about if you are going
to do a team up movie. Unfortunately, you're gonna have
to wait because Justice League. I think, like that movie
Tank so not Tank whatever did bad and then Snyder
cut happened obviously during pandemic that you kind of got
(43:01):
to wait to clear the air with that name. The
stank gets off of it before you put it back out.
And I think, unfortunately you name a Batman and Superman
movie and it's just them too. World's Finest isn't gonna
get people in seats because like, what's that? And they
can't do Batman versus Superman again now because people are like,
oh god, we go again.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
One of my favorite personal the DTN in the universe
when Superman Batman first met and Batman's in Metropolis trying
to find out what a joker is. Superman, Hey, hey, hey,
what are you doing us the X ray vision to
see that? Oh, Bruce Wayne, what are you doing here?
And then Batman gets out of there, and then later
Bruce Wayne harkins in his apartment and he finds a
bug on him and he looks out he's the X
(43:43):
ray vision. He sees the Batman looking at him. Oh
your car can't got you.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
And stop following me something like that.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
I don't even the fight ever again, got that whatever,
But just like them kind of work kind of like
a buddy cop thing, where like they're at all at
the beginning and then towards the end of the movie.
Give me a rush hour with Batman Superman.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Yeah. Oh, I think whenever Batman does get fully introduced
in the DCU, I think James Gunn I don't know
if he'll still be directing the movies at that point,
that'll be interesting when we get that handoff when he's
not really directing so much and being more of a
Kevin Figy is like Superman is really introducing Greenland, the
lanterns and a lot of things. I think that's how
(44:24):
you do Batman to a degree, like kind of just
as you said, he's just following Superman the whole time
and not really doing there until the end credit where
pops up fully.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
I think I'm really excited about you though you said
stand the Lanterns, that that's the one that's Green lantern.
It's never gotten a fair shake and.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
I'm excited for to get a fair shake. You know,
this is the fair shak you can get even with.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Guy Gardner and Superman Like, I'm happy to see this
a green lantern, somebody have to core on screen at
some point and then again at some points, gonna get
to the other other the other colors of lantern that
the orange lanterns or blue lantern One day there's red lantern.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
You can be a red and a blue lantern sometimes.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Yeah, somebody's gonna do that. I don't even now. Give
me lanterns first, see what's going on with with with
with a Kyle.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
What's going on with those two first? And then we
can move on to the other Christians of the lanterns.
But don't don't do it first, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
I don't know kill Rock and all those other ones.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Just just give me the basics first here.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
The lantern show is easily gonna be Sinestro is gonna
turned out to be the villain, so we already know
where that's going.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Keep it simple.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
I don't mind has Sinister and the damn name. You
can't go anywhere with that.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
We we all know it, and every Star Wars show
after the prequels, doc Fit is lurking, he shows up.
We're always happy, so just keep it simple. Could be happy.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
As we're transitioning from this story the next one. Kevin
on TikTok why I mentioned the red and blue lanterns
Young Justice clip popped up and like, oh my god,
I didn't remember this happened on Young Justice. That was
like a random like arc. They're like, okay, cool, Yeah,
he's handsome.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Young Justice. What could have been?
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Could have been? And then Invincible Cold Invincible took a
page out of that book. Can we stop doing that?
Just animate the whole damn thing.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (46:16):
But Kevin, let's talk about franchises that need to come back,
and one of those needs to be Pirates of the
Caribbee and Maytycuz turns out Orlando Bloom Obviously, in case
you didn't know, he's in a new movie with Bryce
Dallis Howard that and Nate from Ted Lasso that's on
(46:37):
Prime Video. I heard it's actually pretty good too, so
you could check it out. But he's obviously been doing
interview circuits and a lot of people have been asking him, hey,
like would you come back for a Pirate six if
it happened. You know, like obviously we love our art.
Trinity of Pirates is him, Kira Knightley and Johnny Depth
and Orlando has said, you know, we just got to
(46:59):
get the band back together and I'm down. So I
think Pirates six is really a go until it was
just waiting on Disney to say, all right, do it.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
I don't think it will have Johnny Depp in it
because there's some.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
And that's the thing. Some days you hear that they're
gonna do it, and sometimes they're not gonna do it.
I think if you want Pirates to do well, you
gotta bring Johnny Depp back as Jack Sparrow because that
is what people do butts and seats for that franchise.
It's why four and five were supposed to be departures,
but he was in him.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
You know, they're the statement. He may say he never
sanps to be Tack Sparrow again. But also there was
also some video and pictures of him recently out of
Spanish Hospital in Spain as Jack Sparrow businessing kids.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Oh yeah, he does all the time, and he pops
up at Disneyland and he's on the Pirate's ride, or
he's the actual meet and Greek character, so.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
It would be interesting to see what happens with that.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
I feel like.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Maybe the lesond of Jack Sparrow is enough to carry
the movie at this point, but I do feel like
Leino blooming it because he's long Jones over now, so
like he's he's just a part of the world forever.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
Davy Jones, you mean Davy Jones. He's selling fish on
the side over here with us puppies, so he needs
to be part of forever now. In case you forgot
the Pirates franchise, because it's it's it's been a minute,
dead Man tells the Tail was the last one that
came out in twenty seventeen. As that's okay, I'll hold
look con as Kevin has his daughter now in the room.
(48:25):
The first one came out in two thousand and three,
which is Pirates the Caribbean, The Curse the Black Pearl.
We call it Pirates, and debatably that's the one that
holds up the most of just like being a great film.
If you're talking about like other franchises, it's kind of
like Jurassic Park one. It's the film that's really good.
And hey, look at that. They got Pirates of the Caribbean.
(48:45):
Dead Man's Chest was came out in two thousand and six,
obviously had Davy Jones. You had Pirates of the Caribbean.
At World's End, which is a third one that ended
that trilogy, which you know, two and three A lot
of people debate about, but I liked them. They were good.
They were good for what they were at the time,
pre Iron Man and pre Marvel.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
They were blowed it. But I mean the uh, the
the end credits scene that Barbosa come back a live
and second was so pretty good.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Also, you got a thing at the time Pirates, the
two of that trilogy, the back To came out when
Transformers and that were the juggernauts of the summer blockbuster seasons.
And I remember my mom called hooky for us the
next day at work because she got us invited to
a midnight premiere to go see I believe it was
Dead Man's Chest, And she said, you guys, you don't
(49:30):
going to go to school tomorrow. We're going to go
see it early.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Actually with the next girlfriend. I actually saw the second
one first. I didn't see the I saw the second one.
First I was like, well, it's actually kind of cool.
Then I actually went to Target out of the theater
and bought the first one and went home like all right.
Speaker 1 (49:43):
Let's watch this again. But then you get to the
back to on. Stranger Tide just came out in twenty eleven,
which is really surprising because you think about it, that
movie came out before the first Avengers movie, which is crazy,
which is crazy because I thought that movie came out after.
Then you got Dead Man Tell No Tales in twenty seventeen,
which is the same year Black Panther came out, so.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
Which is wild? Rather how long that those movies really suspend?
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Oh? Sorry, it came out the same year anyway, twenty seventeen.
Thor Ragnrock, No, Black Panther was twenty.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
Eighteen, Throw Ragonrocket, right, that was that November? It is, Yeah,
the following February was Black Panther. Like wild, wow, that
that's how it was. Kevin.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
Do you remember those two movies at all?
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Or no? I didn't. I don't because it's funny, don't
They both exist in my mind the same way? I
know one of them Sema hiagas in but I don't
know if she's in both of them.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
She is in on Stranger Penelope Cruise is who it
is she's in on Stranger Tides with Ian McShane because
Ian McShane plays Blackbeard, where this is where the checkered
pass off Captain Jack Spurou catches up to him when
he encounters Angelica and more. This is also where you
get introduced to a mermaid and who else is?
Speaker 2 (51:01):
That was the fourth one? Right?
Speaker 1 (51:02):
This was the fourth one? Yes, I'm reading the synopsis
off I m dB. I think Serena was the mermaid
who was in here? And who else is in here?
Sam Claflin, Uh, you know as Finnic from The Hunger
Games was the other romantic lead for the mermaid. So
that was the one that will correct. That's dead Man
(51:23):
tells No Tale where Javier Bardem is Uh? What the
what was the pirate's name? It was Captain come on
pop up IMDb being real slow, being real slow Salazar
because he had he had the Black Goon his mother.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
And that was the one with the guy who we
fought was gonna be Robin one.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
Day in the Yes Brenton Thwaites from Yes from Titans
he was Will and Elizabeth Swan's son Henry Turner and
Kayles go to Lario. Uh was Karina who actually turned
out to be Barbosa's illegitimate daughter.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Yeah, and that was that was Swanse on. He was
like a hero and now on because he actually got
he Yes.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Uh, that's what I saw. The fifth ones one I saw,
yes and the fifth one, if I remember, that was
kind of more of like a return of the franchise,
and four was like a spin off more than and
then Kevin, you gotta go that's okay, We're good. Okay,
I don't know. She's climbing all over and you're like,
I need to get to the mic. I need to
sit talk to the people and the people people. But overall,
(52:38):
I mean the franchise kind of fiddled out, and I
think we're due a return. I mean, go back. You
can do kind of whatever you want with the Pirates franchise,
really and people will go see it.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Yeah, you really can, because I mean I mean you
can even go back to like what the riot is
now with the lady. That's kind of like leading the
pilot raid. You can do that or hold on, what
are you trying to do that? Or could I feel
like you can even start the lore over again, where
like we see Jack Sparrow's skulls like a icon of
(53:10):
the movie.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Maybe it starts with literally like the next one, it's
called Parts of the Caribbean, the Legend of Jack Sparrow,
but you're trying to find Jack Sparrow's treasure.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Yeah, or it's he's not in the movie at all.
It is very kind of like at World's End where
he's kind of m I A for like the first
half of the movie and they're looking for him, and
then he pops up at the end, so you're not
really you're relying on him on the presence of Jack Sparrow,
but he's not. Johnny Depp isn't really in the movie
till like the back like thirty minutes or something like that.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
Exactly exactly. Maybe it can be like you know, super
imposed Johnny Depp. He's gonna be on set. They can
do like an Iron Man thing where he's puts on
a shirt and they they do like t rest of Us. Yeah,
it will be interesting though too.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Now like you get your main cast and unfortunately Barbosa's
he's gone now in canon, like do you have Brendan
Thwaite's come back as as Will will Son, or and
do you introduce maybe a Jack Sparrow offspring at this
point because you're kind of falling the path of everyone
having kids now.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
Would be interesting who would be like John Sparrow.
Speaker 1 (54:11):
Or or maybe it is a kin to Force Awakens
and it is we get new Pirates. They're looking for
Jack Sparrow because Jack has the key to something like
you kind of said. And then this is where unfortunately
Jack Sparrow dies a La Han solo the first of
this Pirate movie.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
That's interesting too though, Like I say, it's Force Awakens
where he has a piece of a map and it
needs a part of the map and they don't know what.
I like that too.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
Actually this is Pirates. Come on, we get this Pirates
movie happening next year.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
We will take dizzy tickets. That's conversation. You only actually
pay us some money.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
We want to go to the Caribbean islands and just
have a good time film on set. But overall don't
know when this franchise is getting a return movie. But
I think if they follow something like that, you get
a success. I think the Pirates branding and the name
carries a lot moving forward. I mean think there are
Funko Pops, but most of this franchise came out before
(55:03):
Funko Pops was the thing. You know, we don't really
have a big Sure we have c A Thie's, but
we never had it. We did have the Pirates of
the Caribbean crossover, but we never really got a Pirates
of the Caribbean big video game, licensed video game like that.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
So like, I think they had what was that old
game that did they used to have when we used
to figures on.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
The wee Disney Infinity. Yes, they had a Lego game.
Lego is the only thing that's closest to.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
It was, That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
But like the Pirates, that's a franchise. I think Disney
is like just sitting on I think can still carry
some weight. I mean, look, Leland and Stitch made a
butt ton of money and they just re released the
movie and changed some things about it.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
So I don't think, what what's the next roud did
flip into a movie? French?
Speaker 1 (55:45):
Well, they already did Jungle Cruise and we've done hand Mansion, so.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
And we did we kind of did Space Mountain, but
it was bad with George Clooney. M hm hm Tomorrowlan
that wasn't.
Speaker 1 (55:55):
Great, to Marland was great? What the hell on?
Speaker 2 (56:00):
What is that in tron?
Speaker 1 (56:02):
Well, that's already been a thing. Hold on, hold on,
I gotta find out that the proper name of it. Ah, Yes,
Tomorrow and Speedway the Ride.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
You know what, they could do a Disney horror movie.
It's a small world.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
They could or it is a movie and look allah
the Emoji movie and it looks like that to a degree.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
And the killer song is d.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
No.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (56:30):
Also, well we're getting the Tower of Terror movie with
Scarlett Johansson in the near future.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Yeah, eventually.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
Please. I can't watch the Greg Grunberg one because not anywhere,
so let me watch this new one. Not Greg Grunberg. Wait,
what the hell is Stephen Steve Gutenberg? That's what it is.
Speaker 2 (56:49):
Who's a hero. He's a hero because of the fires
last year, same people's houses.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Telling him get out of there. But yeah, that's what
we think of the Pirates franchise going forward. We want
to happen. Just make it right, do something good with it.
Don't do half ass. Jerry bruck Himer, get on it.
You own the Seattle, Cracking the hockey team, now now
get another movie. Yeah. Wow, I met him when the
Cracking we're starting. I worked in Seattle and I actually
met him, and I was like, oh, my mom loves
(57:14):
your movies, in your work and everything you do.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
I love, I love you.
Speaker 1 (57:20):
Love to see aside. But let us know what you
want for the Pirates franchise and are you excited for
Fantastic four Superman more next month? That'll be an interesting
thing we'll probably talk about before Superman comes out. Which
one we're hired before? Actually can't, I can't. I can't
figure it out both. I think I'm right now. There
you go fifty one. Maybe oh he's interested. But we
(57:40):
will be back on Monday. We will be talking about
our last minute predictions for Ironheart and uh, we'll be
getting your boy and yourself ready for Epic Universe if
you are going this year at all. Just giving the
pro tips everything you need to know with that and
so much more. But you can keep it locked at
