Speaker 1 (00:00):
Why, hello friend, Happy Monday. Welcome to the Thought Shower.
Intern John is my name. It was a weekend. Let
me try and walk through it real quick. Because my
memory is a little fuzzy. I'm not exactly too sure
why if I'm being honest. So Friday, oh, I know
(00:20):
happen on Friday. So Friday, I was playing, having just
a relaxing weekend of doing really nothing, like a chance
to kind of recharge, recuperate if you will be good
to go. But then like Friday morning ish, my buddy
Shane was like, hey, what do you think about going
to WWE SmackDown Friday night, which is a professional wrestling match.
(00:45):
I was like, eh, I have a contact with the capitals.
Let me ask for tickets. She got tickets in this week.
So did that, which was fun. It's kind of relaxing
and just turn the mind off a little bit. That
was really good. I got home, went to bed no problem. Saturday,
find sleeping was really helping it. Get back from wrestling
(01:08):
at like ten thirty, alarm didn't even go off. I
would up like six because that's just what happens. Went
to the gym. That was great, Everything was fine. Then
decided to go see a film. So I saw the
Channing Tainam movie Blink twice, which is pretty good. You know,
with the Rotten Tomatoes thing, I'm not necessarily a big
proponent of Rotten Tomatoes anymore. I think when they first
(01:31):
started off they were really good, and now it's kind
of like aunt, hit or miss. But I think Rotten Tomatoes.
Having this seventy percent movie was good. I was a
little bit upset the theater I went to they bring
like the food to your seat popcorn I thought was stale.
That was old popcorn. Very disappointed. However, this is the
(01:51):
first time I've had bad experience at that theater. So
I was like, eh, Now, this theater used to be
an old theater. I used to be like a mom
pop shop then, and it was bought out like right
before the pandemic, like maybe the week before. Now it's new.
But the old theater you would walk in and you
buy your ticket from the concession stand, and like sometimes
(02:12):
there be nobody there, so you just walk to your movie.
The old theater too used to have like you get
your popcorn, and I don't even know if they still
sell this anymore, but like popcorn seasoning where you pour
on like ranch or caramel or cheddar. I never tried
it because I don't think they ever cleared it out.
And I try to find photos of this theater, the
(02:33):
old version of it online just to see what looked like. Aga.
I remember it basically, but it was an absolute dumb dude.
I know it was supposed to be like a theater
and tap house, but like anytime I was there, like
the tap house had zero actual pores on. It'm like, mmm,
probably not real. Saw movie. Then Saturday night went to
(02:54):
You I Want My Buddy Chuck. We went to sit
in the restaurant that we're opening. That was pretty cool.
That got pretty real. So the restaurant's going being Clarendon, VA.
We got to sit inside a little bit and just
kind of look around and just kind of chop it up.
But it was very exciting. Then went to see a
friend's dinner at Balos in DC. That was great, very nice.
(03:15):
Then Sunday we did the Renaissance Festival as a show,
which I had not been to the Maryland at Renaissance Festival,
I had been to the one in Minnesota. It's pretty cool,
like there's a lot of walking, but here's the thing
food wise, this is what we did. Got the big
old turkey leg. I'm gonna be honest, Eh, to me,
(03:37):
at least the ones in Minnesota seem bigger. And the
thing about the turkey leg is there's like not tendons,
but there's like cartilage you got to eat around, so
that made it. Eh. The leg itself is only twelve
bucks though, so for the price, couldn't be it. So
I got that, got the turkey leg, got the mac
and cheese bites that was really good. Got a giant pickle,
(03:57):
and I got the ribbon fries, which is basically like
one shaving of a potato but just really long. That
was good as well, because I'm you know, the Minnesota
State Fair is like you go there to experience the food,
you know, so this is like my one chance to
kind of do something like that. So it was very exciting.
This week. Let's see what we're doing. I got a
(04:18):
big project I'm working on. Yeah, I got that done hopefully.
I'm just gonna stay in this weekend because next weekend
I'll be in Orlando with the show for Universal Hollywood Horrorites,
which is very exciting. So a lot of stuff coming
up these next couple of weekends, hopefully you have a
chance to relax. Hopefully you get a chance to relax
as well. Appreciate you listening, Appreciate you following along. I
(04:41):
want to get to this real quick too. If someone
displays these behaviors, they are addicted to drama. I have
said this in the past about certain people. Anytime somebody's
asked a question about somebody, I'll be like, if you
notice this person's life, there's always something going on. It's
(05:03):
like they're in a sitcom. There's always a huge event
that's happening only to them, and it's always a stage five.
And if that's the case, you are doing something to
make that happen. You know what I mean. And I
know you have somebody like that in your life where
you go. How is it always that the drama is
(05:24):
always following them? Well, eventually, you know, I've said this
a million times. The world does not give enough of
a hoot about you to ruin your day. This is reality.
And I tell this to myself. If I think the
world's out to get me, it's a matter of pausing
going John. The entire world doesn't care enough about John
(05:45):
to ruin John's day. It's probably just me first thing.
The experts say, if everything is a crisis, the smallest
thing can become the biggest drama for this person. It's
like the world's falling apart when they're running late, or
they have an issue their partner or whatever they whenever
they call you, you fear the worst because they always
sound breathless. Yeah, I mean that's kind of it right there.
(06:08):
They're the only one who has problems. It's always the worst.
It's always stage five, stage ten, whatever. Yeah, it's always
the absolute worst. They either love or hate something, there's
no between. Interesting when having Aposta dish to tell you
it's the bestsh they have. Even though they said that
about their meals the other day, they see, everything's always exaggerated.
(06:29):
Same for the bad. That's probably true too, Like you're
addicted to the highs and the lows. That kind of
makes sense, Like that's I get that almost, Like, yeah,
swinging the other way, they're addicted to attention. If someone
brings a lot of drama, they're probably needy. They want tension,
so you might feel like you constantly have to praise
them or reassure them. It's sometimes make your friendship feel
(06:52):
like a chore to be honest one hundred percent, one
hundred percent. I think that's what it is. Though, that's
like the person that I'll post the story or the
status of, like, oh, so much is happening right now,
don't ask me about it? Okay, so you're just gonna
(07:12):
drop that on us and not okay, that sounds legit. Uh.
If their stories are over the top, do you sometimes
listen to what your jamac friend is telling you and
frown wondering how much of it is true? People who
thrive on drama tend to infuse imagination their stories to
ensue they have your full attention. I never believe anything
(07:35):
like the over the top story. Sometimes like mmm, I've
gotten to like the space of my life work. I've
had a pretty interesting life as far as the show
in life in general, where if I hear a story,
I go mmm, I've never had something close to that
happened to me. I tend to not believe it. And like,
(07:56):
there is somebody recently who's telling me a big story
about their trying to get out of not get out
of they excuse for not doing something they're supposed to do.
And I finally told Mike I don't believe you just
say just to run the same page. I don't believe
that story it felt good to say, as opposed to
just like pretending that everything was good. You know, if
(08:20):
they cause drama, they say, someone who's always attracting drama
probably creates it themselves. Yep, don't be surprised when they
cause conflict in your social circle or focus on negative interactions.
To Tournament of Tabloyd Worthy Tails one hundred and ten percent,
it's always a thing too. Like the thriving off of
(08:41):
drama is an interesting high. I suppose we're eventually, though,
it's gotta take its toll, Like you're gonna be exhausted,
because if you're going off the drama, that's got to
mean your defense mechanism is up twenty four to seven,
Like you gotta be so flex and raid to go
that Like that to me is exhausting, you know, Like
(09:05):
there's nothing wrong with peace and quiet, and maybe it's
too Like you know, I don't go out that often,
Like when I do, it's with like a circle people
I trust. But like I think we talked about this
last week a little bit, there is peace in just
being by yourself and just being in that, and even
(09:26):
if it's by yourself, but you're still watching TV or
playing the video game or reading a book. To me,
there's always peace in that. And I think like once
you kind of learn to be still with yourself, maybe
you don't need to create drama outside. You know, like
knowing that you can be entertained just by yourself, you
(09:47):
don't neither be like conflict. It's like, you know, you
can just relax. Nobody's got time for drama. Twenty four
to seven. Breathe and breathe that baby life short. Mine's
all enjoy right, Helpe, you have a fan fantastic Monday,
a fantastic week as well. Appreciate you listening. It's the
thought Shower.
