Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a Happy Friday friend. Welcome to the thought Shower
intern John is my name. First Friday of August, we
did it. My parents had their anniversary yesterday. As far
as I've heard, still together thirty seven years. Snaps. I've
(00:21):
never in my life called for snaps. I'm gonna be honest.
Didn't like it, doesn't feel like it's something I'm gonna
do again. Don't know why I try to, but here
we are. Yesterday, long day for me, but good day.
Did the show, of course, But then the Capitals were
having a tasting of their Jack Daniels bottles coming out
(00:41):
this year. Had to go, had to do it was
invite out but my buddy Bourbon Ryan, and it was cool.
It was very cool to see how they do the
process and have some free drinkies. That went over to
my bar the city inside because it's getting so close
to opening.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
It's very exciting times.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Look up from to a text this morning, my parents
coming in to town next week. Just exciting times all
the way around here. You know what am I doing
this weekend? It's a good question. I think my neighbor's
having some friends over, so that's exciting. I've never been
inside his house, So that's interesting. Don't know what to expect,
(01:22):
but I think it'd be a fun vibe, just kind
of relaxing and hanging. I do want to see the
movie Trap. That's the Josh Hartnet film where he's the
serial killer who gets like trapped inside of an arena
while he's at a concert.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It looks good. I love Josh Harten it.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
There's two Minnesota boys, you know, chopping it up, doing life,
doing all that kind of stuff that I don't know.
I'm trying to like relax a little bit because the
next couple of weekends are gonna be wild. Like next
weekend we're doing some birthday stuff. Weekend after that is
the final comedy show, and then like the bar should
be open. So oh, I'm gonna be busy every weekend
(02:02):
until forever.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Speaking of the comedy shows, you're in close, excuse me,
very down to the wire. If you're thinking about getting tickets, now,
it's time to get them. The Bogo deal ends. I
believe next week you buy one ticket, you get one
for free. So if you and your buddy or you
know a friend go in on a ticket, I mean
you're paying like a fourth of price internshoncomedy dot com.
(02:25):
My father has booked his flight. I have been telling
you my mom, like, hey, he just needs to know.
We gotta stay on time. Last time my dad did this,
he had not stay on time. He kind of went
off and did his own thing and kept talking and
it was it just kind of went on and on
(02:45):
time limit on this one. This is for your consideration
for mine as well, Internsoncomedy dot Com to get your tickets.
I'm very excited for these shows. It's been the best
run of shows. I think that we guess that I
have have done and it's gonna be a great time.
Internshioncomedy dot com. Birthday on Tuesday. Look at that. Am
(03:11):
I excited for it?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I guess well, I'm excited because next week the show
I mentioned this, we're doing the Empire Ships back the
Star Wars burlesque show that I went to in Toronto.
We're doing it as a show next Thursday. So that's
kind of fun. And then I plan getting Crabs at
some point next week as well, So that's gonna be
(03:38):
the vibe for that. I want to get to this
real quick for your Friday things. Men do in relationships
that women secretly hate. Now, I'm gonna be honest as
I go through this. I don't think it's secretly hated.
I think is pretty obvious. These are things that make
I don't know, basically anybody upset, starting with ignoring texts
(04:01):
and calls. They say, Consistently ignoring messages from your partner
can create feelings of neglect and frustration. I had this
problem in a past relationship where she would send a
multiple messages and like, I'd be working or doing whatever,
and then I would respond but only respond to like
(04:22):
one message. And I didn't realize how much that made
her upset until she told me. I was like, Okay,
that makes sense, Like I should be responding to more
than one thing, you know what I mean, Like I
should be responding to all of It was a very
simple fix. Flirting with other women. Yeah, dude, I mean obvious.
(04:42):
That's a secret women secretly hate that. That should be
the most obvious of things. You can't do that brouh
especially because her being honest, She's got a better shot
you do than if it was reversed, you know what
I mean. Don't put yourself in that spot. Brother, making
(05:04):
decisions without consultation. I said, making big changes without consulting
your partner can make them feel left out or powerless
in the relationship.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I think for me, I'm probably gonna make the decision regardless,
you know what I mean, Like, that's probably not gonna
change things. However, I at least like having somebody to
bounce things off of, you know. I think that's the
good thing of a relationship. You have somebody you can
talk to, somebody you can see if things make sense.
(05:33):
You know, it's your confidante if you will.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
So.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah, I guess you're making these big decisions and not
asking them. It's a little bit like, hey, what am
I here for? You know, comparing to Xes bro again
secretly hate that you secretly hate that? That should be obvious,
I say, constantly comparing your partner Xes, whether appearance or
behavior can be hurtful and damaging to their self. See,
(06:01):
I don't think I've ever done that, and there'd be
no reason too, Like I've never been like you want
to what you remind me of so and so?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (06:10):
I don't know which would be worse looks or personality
to do that with. I mean both, certainly looks I
feel maybe more right because you can't change that as much,
or you can't hide that. Maybe canceling plans last minute
again should be bigger than it is. You frequently canceling
(06:30):
plans or change him last minute can make your partner
feel like their time is invalued one hundred percent all
at being late. Y' all know that it's my biggest
pet peeve is lateness so big because everybody's busy, everybody
has things going on, So when you're late by ten minutes,
that's messing up somebody else's day, like the whole thing.
(06:54):
This is another big one, dude, Come on now, forgetting
important dates consistently, forgetting special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays
can make your partner feel unappreciated, unappreciated. Yes, now, I
know somebody who her boyfriend forgot and I say, forgot
my eyes huge, my fingers breaking Valentine's Day two years
(07:17):
in a row, and I told her that man did
not forget Valentine's Day. There is no way. It would
be nearly impossible. The Amish couldn't forget about Valentine's Day.
You go to any store starting in January, there's Valentine's stuff.
You open up Instagram, there's Valentine's stuff. I mean, you
(07:39):
have parents who would say, hey, what are you getting
so and so for Valentine's Day? That is impossible forget, dude,
unless you're a brain surgeon and you're in surgery for
forty hours a day, or you're the President of the
United States.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
You're that busy. How could you forget? That doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Anniversaries too, Now, I'll say this, if it's like your
daity anniversary or your you know, marriage anniversary, maybe it's different,
or like first date anniversary and when it became official,
that would make sense.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Okay. Always needing to be right made the list.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, that's more of an annoyance for sure, because then
it's like, how do you have arguments if you always
have to be right?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
How are their arguments?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Like? How do you how do you make each other
feel like you're hearing the other one out? You know,
especially because I think if you're always right, it's like
you have nothing to learn from. I like learning from mistakes,
especially like in a relationship to make things better, you
know what I mean. I think that was like my
last relationship, we were really good at like attacking the problem,
(08:56):
not each other.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
That made sense.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
You know, realize when we both love each other, we
both care about each other, and if there's an issue,
it's not necessarily one of us. It's just like it's
it is the issue. There's like there's an intruder in
the relationship. You don't fight your person when there's an
intruder that doesn't quite make sense. You fight the intruder.
That was kind of the vibe. I hope to see
(09:19):
you on the seventeenth. We're two weeks away from the show.
Internsoncomedy dot Com. The buy one, get one deal ends
I believe next week. See buy a ticket you get
one for free, which is a crazy cool deal. Still
benefit the Fisherleities. You get myself, you got sauce, DM
Medkyle Crummer, my father, the professor, doing jokes, telling stories,
(09:44):
being himself. I'm sure August seventeenth, rams Head Live tickets,
Internsoncomedy dot Com. That's Internsoncomedy dot Com. Have an amazing weekend.
I will see you on Monday. Friend, Hey,
