Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a happy Wednesday friend. Welcome to the Thought Shower.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Intern John is my name, kicking off the busy seventy
two hours for your boy. Well, I guess, uh, what's
seventy ninety six? So yesterday did TV on a Fox
five that was lovely. Today after the show, I'm staying
in the hotel the next couple days because after the show, well,
today I get skittles, go to hotel Sauce, and I

(00:24):
have like a business dinner thing in Baltimore at five,
So we gotta leave it like two thirty. That's not great.
And then tomorrow I'll be Thursday, I'll be on the
CW fifty talking about the Chewy album. Very exciting. Then
tomorrow evening we have the the Happy Hour for the

(00:44):
jingle Ball tickets Hide Social five to seven pm, also
in Arlington, so I'm gonna stay out there. Then Friday
do an ABC for TV talking about the album, talking
about well life in general. So it's gonna be a
test of your boys endurance next couple days, but a
fun one. Nonetheless, you know, it's been a busy road

(01:05):
to get to the album release point. The album comes
out a week from tomorrow, which is crazy. If you've
gotten a chance to buy it, thank you. If you haven't,
you still can Internsoncomedy dot Com benefit the Warrior Canine
Connection give me a fantastic experience. I'm very excited for

(01:25):
you to hear it. And it's funny because I have
a bunch of clips of the album I keep wanting
post might now I gotta save something for the actual
show itself. And that's my problem. I'm not good at
holding on to gifts, do you know what I mean? Like,
if I get a gift for somebody, I want to
tell them right away because I want them to be

(01:46):
like happy and get that vibe. So I'm not great
at holding on to that. However, in this case, we'll
make it happen, you know what I'm saying. Other than that,
been a fairly low key couple of days. It's a
good thing. I've got a lot of trips coming. I
have a buddy's bachelor party in Mexico in like two weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Then that book. Basically, I'm very excited.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
So before I was in Minnesota, No before I was here,
I was in Iowa for eleven months from Minnesota, and
so my boss in Iowa man by him a great Chance,
who I owe basically everything to. He's a big Iowa
football fan. I'm a big Minnesota fan. I'm gonna go
to Iowa to watch Minnesota play Iowa and college football.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
I'm pretty excited for that.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I've never been to like a big, big rivalry game
before for college football and the way Minnesota plays when
games are important really in any sport. I'm sure the
game is gonna be an absolute disaster, but flying des
Moines go and drive the stadium. I always like going
back to Des Moines, to my first time going back
to Des Moines without Chewy, because I'd always kind of

(02:49):
go back to our first apartment and just to kind
of see, you know, where we came from, where this
whole journey started. I think sometimes it's it's helpful to
go back and kind to be centered, if that makes sense.
So I'm excited for that trip as well, and then
back to Nashville for my nephew's baptism.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
So we're doing a lot of travel. It's gonna be
a lot of fun. But uh, let's get into this,
shall we.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I always love finding things that help me defend my
life choices.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
That's doing the show. Do it here?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Probably just do it anywhere. I want to get to
this for your Wednesday. The reasons smart people have messy homes. Now,
I'm gonna be honest. Am I messy? No? Am I disorganized? Yes,
although I'll say this, I know where to find the
stuff I need. To the untrained eye, it may look

(03:40):
like my place is messy, unorganized, so on so forth. However,
your boy can find what it needs to find for
the most part. Starting with though you prioritize ideas over dusting.
When you're deep in thought of working on your idea,
cleaning is probably the last thing on your mind. It's
easy to see someone who's constantly brained something might not

(04:01):
get around to tidying up on the regular one hundred percent. Also,
according to this doctor in Minnesota, a messy environment can
actually boost creativity. They say people in tighty untidy spaces
offen theme up with more innovative solutions.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I think for me, if I get on a heater,
there's nothing that's going to stop that, especially if it's
like come up with ideas for stuff. If I get
on a heater and things start going really well, I'm
not going to prioritize cleaning stuff or putting stuff away.
I mean like legitimately too, you know, with like the
comedy stuff, I was writing jokes, all scattered papers everywhere,

(04:36):
like on the desk, and it looks like a giant mess,
but like it's just the creative process kind of how
it goes. You know, you're a multitasker, they say, smart
people often have so much on their plates they find
themselves juggling multiple projects at once. If you're constantly hoping
hopping from one task another's something Mundane's cleaning often falls
to the bottle of liss. This has been the case

(04:56):
really since college, probably my whole life really, but college
I noticed my roommate and I would talk about this
because we were doing so much stuff with jobs and
then the college radio station and now too, Like I
you know.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I was shown some of my schedule. My schedule this
week is so stupid.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
But I have the radio show, I had the podcast,
have comedy, have coaching now on the bar, so there's
a lot of other stuff going on where like, Yeah,
I just don't like.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Cleaning is not fun. It doesn't spark joy for me.
It's not a.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yeah, I guess it doesn't make me feel good. One
of those types of things. But also too, it's like
when I do have time to like settle down, I
want to do nothing. I want to play a video
game and just do nothing. Cleaning to me seems like
another job. And I know for some folks like cleaning
can be like therapeutic, and that's just not me. I know,

(05:52):
like for Sauce, organizing things is like for her one
of the greatest things to do. For me, I would
rather run in traffic than organize stuff. I can also
like I I can't like understand organizing, and that makes sense,
Like if I look at a mess, I can see
the mess, but I don't quite know how to put

(06:17):
things together or how like that should go. My brain
doesn't quite get that, which isn't helpful even too.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
It's funny.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I was watching this eminem documentary called Stands. I was
talking about his writing and how he at some point
wanted to have his writing or organized for his songs
but he couldn't do it. Go.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah, I think that's for me too.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Again, like with the comedy stuff, I've tried different ways
of like you know, writeing it down neatly and color
coding and stuff, but it's just like no it just
ends up being like a giant word find Like that's
just kind of like what works for me. You're not
afraid of failure, like this being intelligent off of me
as you understand that failure is part of the process,

(06:56):
you know, taking risk and trying new things.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Sometimes it's all his message.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
But literally and figuratively, this mindset can translate into a
home that's less than perfect. You're not afraid of a
little mess if it means learning something new or achieving goals. Again,
for me, it's just like a it's a priority thing
more than anything else, Like it's legitimately like it's just
not priority. Same with gardening and God bless my mom.
She has tried. Gardening is just not my journey. I

(07:24):
just don't care about it. It's not fun for me.
It's just kind of like, you know, not even gonna
let bother me because I just don't want to do it.
You know, you trust your gut, say, smart people often
rely on their intuition to guide them through life. This
means trust your instincts rather than sess over details like
keeping a spotless home. Research has shown that the emphasize

(07:47):
the importance of intuition and decision making. You're more focus
on the bigger picture, even means a little chaos new surroundings.
I think that's fair too. Again, I think you go
to opportunity costs. It's like, if I get home today
and today my day is crazy. If I get home today,
it's like, Okay, I could spend an hour cleaning, sure,
or an hour relaxing, taking a nap, walking skittles, like

(08:11):
doing something for me. What's gonna be better for me
in the long run. For me personally, it's not cleaning.
And this isn't to say that I live in a
pig side. That's not at all. But for me again,
it's just like, I yeah, there's better things to do,
you know, they say to you, see the bigger picture.
So intelligent people often the ability to see beyond the

(08:33):
immediate and focus on the bigger picture. That mess now
isn't the end of the world. When you're working towards
a larger goal, you're strategic and you're thinking, understand that
not everything needs to be perfect right away. Your mess
is a sign that you're focused on things that have
greater importance in the long run. I'm gonna use that.
I like that to me that's fantastic. I wish I

(08:53):
had this as a kid. My mom was like, yo,
cleaning room. Like no, I'm listening mother, Respectfully, I am
so focused on the future and my passions that for
me to take time away from those to clean is
not the journey for me, you know. And to be fair,
it's worked out so far. Just saying last one I'll

(09:13):
hit is you're comfortable with imperfection. Smart people often understand
that the perfection is elusive and unnecessary goal. You're comfortable
with the idea that not having, not everything needs to
be spotless and enjoyable. This acceptance allows you focus on
what truly matters. I think that's fair too.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Again, like.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
You know, this is bigger things they were fish to
fry for me at least. Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday.
