Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a happy Friday friend.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Welcome to the Thought Shower intern John is my name.
Been a big week, You're gonna be a bigger weekend.
Although today almost started off with disaster. I woke up,
my alarm goes off, and then I thought to myself, Hey,
I don't have to be up this early.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's Saturday. Go back to bed. John.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Well, as you know, well maybe if not listening to
this day one, you don't know today's Friday. This has
happened a couple times this week where I've been like, oh,
it's okay, we can just uh, we can just relax.
We all need to get ready to go, and then
realizing like, oh no, it's a workday.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's a work day.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I'm very lucky that I'm paranoid of oversleeping, Absolutely paranoid.
It's like my biggest fear. It's maybe happened twice in
my career. Once in college where there's an issue where iPhones,
like the alarms weren't going off and like I woke
up and I spiked the phone like a football.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I was so so angry. There was that.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Then maybe like one other time in the past ten years,
maybe once. So I do think that if I if I
didn't have an alarm, I think I could probably mentally
set myself to wake up at the right time. I
think I could Legitimately, I'll never test the theory now.
(01:33):
I think my anxiety is enough where it's like three
o'clock they'll wake up. Because there is times, like you
ever see a thing when you oversleep and then you
think to yourself like, I am far too wrested right now.
I feel like I've been sleeping for far too long,
and then like your brain starts to go, oh wait,
yep h, I have been sleeping for too long. One
(01:56):
of the greatest feelings of all time. That's that's the
best of alarm clock you can have, is waking up
because you've overslept, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Uh. Anyway, that was that.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I'm very excited today though, because I'm going to Saint
Louis after the show to meet my nephew. Very exciting.
My brother Tommy his wife Allison, had a baby this week.
I've been seeing the baby on photos. Kid is a tank.
I mentioned this on the show. Kid is an absolute unit.
He is still he is still doing it, he is
(02:30):
still growing, he is still laying down the law. This
kid is gonna be an absolute unit of a man,
and I'm excited to see him. It's also nice to
you because I get to see my parents again, and
so my parents I don't uh, we don't see each
other that often because they live in the Nashville area
and I'm here.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Saw them on the fourth of July.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Bonus getting to see them again this weekend, which is
also very exciting. So I know I'm gonna be the
cool uncle. I know that I did a horrendous job
packing once again. I think it's because, like I in
the past six weeks maybe have been home two weekends,
(03:11):
and so it's just like that put it off, you know,
just kind of like I want to do it. Also,
like for this trip, not trying to dress stylish, if
that makes sense. It's not like I really need anything
like shorts and some shirts, you know what I mean.
Then I realize I get there and I get ooh,
am I prepared it all for this trip?
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Usually the answer is no. For me.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's like, as far as trips go, as long as
like the iPads good, I'm good.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Like for me, the most important part of.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Any trip is making sure I have movies to watch
on the plane because that's always too like you just
never know what planes canna have what. And I think
all Delta flights every screen, every seat has a screen,
which great.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
We flew to you United.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Or su ME to Universal a couple weeks back, and
on United and they had TVs in the seats.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
That was pretty sick.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I do feel like that should be standard in twenty
twenty five that I know Jet Blue has them on
all their seats, but like having the TV screen the seat,
that to me should be standard. That's one of the
greatest like bonuses and this flight United flight you could
connect your AirPods to the TV, which is also great
because sometimes like there's nothing worse than those airlines that
(04:32):
have like the old ass headphone jack where you need
two pronged sewing there and like those headphones were always ass,
so you can't really hear what's going on. So like
for me like traveling, as long as I have my
iPad loaded, that's good. There's also nothing worse than when
you think your iPad is downloaded everything you get on
(04:53):
the plane and realize nothing actually downloaded. That's one of
the worst. I saw this content creator I follow. I
guess he had a similar thing happened on the flight
or the Wi Fi wasn't working, so he named restaurants
with every letter in the alphabet on his flight.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
That's what he did.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
So it was like, you know, Annie's Apples, Bell's Brussels sprouts,
and like that kind of vibe. Like that to me
sounds like a nightmare. No thank you. So I got
some stuff to watch good to go with that. I
gotta say too, I've had to stop and start this
podcast probably four times. I try to be good about
(05:32):
when I'm going somewhere, making sure I've used all the
food in the house. By that, like I got to
use like a meal prep service, like making sure that
by the time that you know, I leave, there's no
meals getting wasted and there's no food left.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Ever.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
So I'd done a pretty good job this week, and
I was like, oh sick, Like my last meal of
the week can be.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Can be a good delivery.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
So I got Chinese food last night, very exciting, and
I got extra grilled Tarioki chickens. I was like, you know,
a little tree for myself. Here's the thing, though I
woke up at two forty, I can usually go and
tell about eight or nine before I get hungry. I
down this whole carton of chicken before I started the podcast,
and so today's gonna be a dangerous day because I've
(06:18):
thrown my digestive track completely off are usually schedule programming,
And I know you wanted to hear this. I know
you were wondering, what's John's digestive you know regimen, how
zech can be handled today.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I'm gonna be honest.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
We all know, we all know been doing a lot
of burping, and you know the worst time to have
stomach issues is definitely when you're flying. So you know,
we're gonna see, We're gonna see how it goes. We're
gonna see the vibe. You know, the Saint Louis Airport
is a disaster. I mentioned that before, where I didn't
(06:55):
know until landed the first time that the rental car
area is not on airport property. You have to take
the shuttle bus, which is just paying the ass and
my brother offered to pick me up, which I appreciate,
but I was like, nah, man, you got like the baby,
you have that whole thing.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
So nah.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Anyway, all this to say, if you get a chance
to follow along this weekend at Internsohn Radio. I'm excited
to see officially Uncle I J. Have fantastic weekends, thoughsh
