Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a Happy Monday friend. Welcome to the Thought Shower.
Intern John is my name was quite the weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Listen into it well.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Last week in general, I stayed at a hotel, the
Hilton Arlington National Landing Wednesday, Thursday Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
So I had a lot going on last week.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
And it's one of those things where kind of realized
this a while ago with the bar being up, and
sometimes it's easier just to pay for the hotel and
have a place to stay and not have to drive
an hour round trip, you know, because last Wednesday this
kind of go through things. Saus and I had a
meeting in Baltimore, left to two thirty to get there
at five, so it's basically four hours round trip.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
That was a lot.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Thursday did TV, then we had our show Happy Hour Hide.
Then Friday had more TV and Vain had to go
back to the bar. Saturday we did the HIV Walk
Whipman Walker, which is a fantastic event, and then I
had a facial with Nurse Megan, also fantastic. So by
time Saturday came around got back to my place, I'm like,

(01:06):
all right, we need to relax a little bit. I
almost went back to the bar I decide not to
because this week I think it's gonna be a big
one too. You know, the album comes out on Thursday.
It's the weird thing about doing TV this past week.
I mentioned this before, is it's I don't know, it's

(01:32):
it's like it's more personal when people ask you about
the album and about Chewy than me talking about it
on the show every day. That makes sense. And with
the TV aspect of it, you know, we were talking
about Chewing and they show photos of me and him
on stage, and that's when it hits like, oh, yeah,
he's not here anymore, you know what I mean. So

(01:52):
I'm excited for this week. You know, the album comes
out Thursday. Uh, there's certainly the anxiety of will it
do well? Will it outperform the last one? Will it
be a great way to memorialize Chewy? And I can
answer some of those questions. I think it's the best

(02:13):
thing I've ever done in my life. I think it's
the most emotional thing, certainly, the most real thing, certainly
as it should be, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
And that's the thing too.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
It's like when I was doing these interviews and telling
people like how old he was, he was gonna be
sixteen people's eyes get big. I think that some people
realize kind of magnitude of like, oh, like half my
life he was there, you know what I mean. And
that's made harder certainly. And on the flip side too,
And I've said this before in the interviews and then

(02:46):
here too. How lucky am I to have had basically
sixteen years with him, you know what I mean. So yeah,
it's been a hard couple of weeks certainly talking about
the album, but I do know that it's really good,
Like and I you know, I think you're supposed to

(03:06):
be humble and all that boloney, but I worked really
hard on it.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
And I think also too.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
It's just one of those things where as far as
writing goes, it's easy to write about something you're passionate about,
obviously as passionate about show we So if you get
a chance, you can reserve your copy Internsjohncomedy dot com.
It is one of those things where the more people
who pre order the album, better it does. The goal
is to hopefully debut number one on Amazon and iTunes

(03:34):
in the world and raise a bunch of money for
the Warrior Canine Connection. Sevie ken Internshohncomedy dot Com. I'm
gonna be honest too. I know we only did a
couple of shows that go around. I'm excited for you
to hear it. Like I you know, I do comedy
for myself certainly, and it's fun for me. But I

(03:55):
like the chance to make people happy, make people forget
about what's going on in their lives, and so I
think this will definitely do that.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Also, do want to shout out too.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
At the walk this weekend, we met Peter listener Peter,
and as I was leaving, Peter goes, hey, I gotta
tell you something. I go, yeah, absolutely, man. He goes,
you are tall. I was like, thank you, dude. I'm
so sick people thinking I sound short. He goes, yeah,
you're like six feet right. I go, yeah, yes, my man, Peter.
Thanks Brev.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Let me get to this be a Monday.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
The clues your spouse has checked out of the relationship,
I feel like I've been in relationships for this has happened.
We can just kind of tell like they're bracing for impact,
you know what I mean, which is like not the
greatest feeling. It's like, hey, we can still try, but
it's good now right, if communication has dwindled, you talk

(04:47):
about everything from day to day experiences, your deepest dreams
and fears. Now it seems like pulling teeth to get
a conversation going.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I've also felt that on my end two, where it's
like I just don't want to talk anymore.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
That's a bad sign.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
If there's like things that work you don't want to
tell your person about, you know that that's not good.
If physical affection is lacking, they say it's a vile
component of a healthy relationship. If your spouse suddenly stops
holding your hand or giving you hugs could be red flag.
I do think this is important because I think we
always think, oh, physical effection that means like hooking up.

(05:22):
It's like no, this is just like yeah, as simple
as holy hands. If you don't want to hold hands
to me, it's like that feeling of the physical touch
is supposed to be a bit of a relief, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Like for me, it's always been.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Like a I feel a relief when I would, like,
you know, touch somebody's hand or put your arm around
them kind of makes you feel safe. If you're not
feeling that anymore, that is a horrendous sign. If they're
always busy, it's tough. If your spouse suddenly seems too
busy for you could be a sign they checked out.
Being busy is inherently bad, but feels like if they're

(05:58):
consistently making time everything else but you, it's worth taking
a closer look. I think that's fair. I remember I
had a girlfriend who we were not in a good space.
I was coming back from a workship. I was like, hey,
we should definitely like talk, and she said she couldn't.
She was going to a party and I was like okay,
And I broke up with I think the next day
because I knew, you know what I mean, Like I

(06:20):
was really trying to like keep things going. But then
I was like, yeah, no, this isn't good. Also, she
wasn't good about talking about things. I think it's more
of a family thing than anything else. She's like, yeah,
we can't just keep running with a broken leg, you
know what I mean, That's not what we're going for.
If they seem indifferent about future plans, this is huge.

(06:41):
Playing for the future is an essential part of any
commit relationship. If your spouse suddenly seems indifferent or a
voice discussion about future plans could be a sign that
checked out. I'll say this too, especially for me, Like
I know, like my vacation schedule throughout the year is
pretty consistent, so it's like I like the play a head.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
So if it's like if.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
We're in June, like I start to plan for Christmas,
I'm like, hey, I need to go family here, but
want to get away here. And if a person I'm
with is like not excited about it or again not
I don't know, making it seem like they're gonna be around,
then you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I think that's a big part of it.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
You feel indifferent because like, yeah, I'm not gonna be
here for anyway, Like well have broken up, you feel
like roommates. When you feel more like roommates than romantic partners,
it's a sign something may be a miss. You might
still share space, possibilities, even laughter, but romane's intimacy have faded.
Probably my my biggest fears I think dating in general

(07:42):
is that fear of like you fall into that rut.
Now I get it, it's easy to do. Life's busy.
I think it takes two tango. So it's kind of
on both partners to keep that alive. But yeah, that's
a tough spot, man, And I feel like everybody gets
that at some point where it's like, yeah, we're just
kind of in the same space.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I don't don't like that they avoid conflicts at all costs.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
They say disagreements and conflicts are national part of any relationship. However,
if your spouse is avoiding conflict to the point of
shutting down important discussions, it may be a sign they've
checked out.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
To me, this is huge.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
It's also a difference of you realize that you're arguing
for each other, not against each other, certainly, but if
they don't even want to bother. And I do think
this happens where I said this on the air a
couple of weeks ago. I'm like, yeah, I think you
get to a point where it's like, you know, you've
checked out. So it's like, why am I even gonna
waste my energy on this relationship when I know it's

(08:40):
not gonna work out?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Is that good feeling to have?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
No?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
But I do think that's the issue.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
You legit think to yourself, Okay, why would I play
all that work? And if it's not gonna we're not
gonna be together anyway, maybe more of a subconscious thing
anything else, but I think it's very important. Listen, the
album is out Thursday. Technically I think Wednesday at midnight.
It would mean the world to me if you could
get a copy. I had somebody ask me this weekend actually, like,

(09:12):
am I gonna do more shows? And I go back
to I wasn't supposed to do these shows. You know
the show last year, the From Scratch Show wasn't gonna happen,
but then we were so close to hitting the goal.
These shows were gonna happen, but then we lost Chewy,
and so I really think this is kind of like

(09:32):
the good natural break because for me, it kind of
comes down to like what more is that to accomplish?
You know, we raised on hundred thousand dollars of fisherroutse
raised I think close to ten for Warrior Canine Connection,
which is amazing, and this particular piece of work I
can say it's my best sub So I'm excited you
to hear it. Internshooncomedy dot com to get your digital

(09:56):
copy on iTunes.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
We'll see a Wednesday. It is the Thought Show, but
