(00:00):
And a happy Friday friend. Welcometo the Thought Shower intern John is my
name. I'm gonna be honest, man, I kind of feel alive again.
It was a rough go the lastweek and a half or so.
Last week mainly it was the stomachis kind of cramping and having go to
(00:21):
the bathroom every thirty minutes. Tobeginning of this week, it was just
kind of like recovering, if thatmakes sense. Let you know. On
uh, because I don't really sleepthis weekend Monday, I slept like a
five hour nap, which was wild. But now I kind of feel like
this week like I ease back inthe gym a little bit, didn't do
(00:43):
too much like mentally straining stuff. To now I feel like, okay,
you know, we're almost back toit, which is which is good.
It feels good. Got a lotof TV watching done this week. That's
very important. Sometimes you know,a little bit annoyed. Severance Season two
comes out January twenty twenty five. That to me annoying. That's not great.
(01:10):
If you haven't watched Severance, huhso good Apple TV. I'll explain
it real quick. The idea is, uh, it's all We're in a
world you know where they can puta chip in your brain that essentially shuts
off part of your brain when you'reat work and when you're at home.
So when I walk in the radiostation, in theory the chip would activate,
(01:34):
I would forget about everything at home. I wouldn't know about my life
outside the walls of the radio station. I would just know life at work.
Then when I leave the station,I would only know life at home.
I wouldn't know anything about work, wouldn't know who my friends were,
wouldn't know anything. Seems like agood idea in principle, but the issue
(01:56):
with the show is like the versionof you who's at work feels like you're
at work twenty four hours a day. You know what I mean, and
that I mean at least like myjob is fun. So that'd be cool,
although that make things almost impossible todo because we talk about our lives
that make it difficult. This isa long way of saying I'm feeling better,
(02:21):
feeling good. Had a big meetingyesterday. I mentioned that I'm involved.
I have a couple actual business venturescoming up I'm pretty excited about.
But involved in the restaurant. Yesterdaywe had food testing stuff which is exciting.
Basically, it's going and taste testing, which is always fun, you
know what I mean. That's oneof those things when you're with a group
(02:44):
and you try something and you're like, now I'm gonna see how bad my
palette is or my taste is.All this stuff is great. Don't get
me wrong. I'm like I could. It's almost like wedding food tasting.
It's kind of like that vibe. After a while too, it starts to
taste kind of the same. Butit was good, man, it was
really good. It's funny. OnTV they showed video of like the Olympians
(03:07):
and they all have coke bottles nextto them, Like I doubt they're drinking
coke I talked about on the show. But how miserable like the Olympics.
I get the idea of you wantto go green. I understand you want
to do its best with the environment. I understand these cardboard beds and these
mattresses that are made of like plasticfishing wire. Bro There ain't no way.
(03:31):
There ain't no way like that isI don't know to me, Like
if I was an athlete, youknow, we have athletes that sleep in
like those hyper whatever chambers and thattype of stuff. I would imagine that
could mess you up. Can youimagine if you train your whole life to
(03:52):
go to the Olympics, you getthere, they don't give you a real
bed and like you sleep on yourneck wrong the day before the Olympics because
because you're not on a real mattress. Because the mattress, if you've seen
the videos, it comes apart likea sectional. It's not even like one
piece of mattress, it's like differentparts of you know, this is not
the time to experiment, you knowwhat I mean. This is the time
(04:14):
to keep things exact same they were. I think that's why the last Olympics
a team USA basketball the state ona yacht. I'm like, yeah,
that kind of makes sense. That'skind of the vibe. I'm gonna be
honest as well, though, KATIEODecky obviously amazing what she's done. You
know, one of the greatest athletesI've ever seen. Other than her,
(04:35):
I'm not the biggest Summer Games fan. I don't know why, and maybe
it's because I'm more so like teamsports. I mean, winter it's mainly
just hockey, like that's the teamsport. But like, I don't know.
Summer Olympics to me, I alwayskind of eh, maybe like when
it happens too because there's just somuch going on. That's also like ah
whatever, But I'm more of awinder guy. Salt Lake who would have
(04:59):
thought back back again salt Lake twentythirty two. Here we go anyway.
I hope you're having a great week. Baltimore, August seventeenth. That is
like two weeks away, which iscrazy. Ram said live, I love
to see you there. The showis really good. And I say that,
I mean that Pillile working into mystuff, all new stuff, and
(05:20):
I think it's the best stuff yet. So I'd love to see you.
It's always great, you know, for for us to be able to show
how big the podcast is and howpowerful the podcast is, and you know,
we're very grateful obviously. Internshoncomedy dotCom. That's Internsjohncomedy dot Com.
I want to get to this realquick for your Friday. The non Negotiable
(05:44):
Traits of a high value man.I bring this up because I have a
lot of female friends who've told mehow hard it is a fine guy who
is of high value, who issomebody that you want to be dan.
They say. In the modern worlddating, high value men stand out for
the unique qualities and characteristics. Fellas, it's not that hard, you know
what I mean, opening the door, paying for the date you asked for.
(06:09):
It's not that difficult. Number onelist is self confidence, say health,
high value radiates self confidence. It'snot about being boastful arrogant, but
having genuine belief in themselves and theirabilities. Yeah. I mean, you
know you can figure things out,you know things will work out. That's
massive. Integrity made the list, they say. It's a fundamental trade of
(06:30):
high value men. Hold dear.It means they stick to their values and
principles, even face with difficult choices. Yeah. Not to toot my own
horn, I think that's Can integritybe difficult at times? I suppose,
But my dad always said he'd ratherdie in his feet than live on his
knees. Yeah, I think that'sa much more admirable way to go.
(06:53):
They're resilient. High value men demonstratesresilience in the face of challenges and setbacks.
He doesn't let failure to him andsaid learns from them and balances back.
I would also say with that too, if he has a setback,
he doesn't blame it on the peoplearound him, you know what I mean?
Which that listen, that could betough, That could be really tough.
(07:15):
I think it's easy sometimes to convorethose lines. But for sure generosity.
High value men are generous, notjust some material things a but their
time, attention, and affection. You know, for me, like the
time thing, that's a that's abig that's like the most you know,
precious resource anybody has. But Ithink for me especially like that is that's
(07:39):
it, dude, Like I don'thave a lot of free times. If
I give you time, like that'sa big, big thing for me.
Adaptability, they see high value menare adaptable and open to change. They
understand the life is full of uncertainties, are willing to adjust and compromise when
needed. I would try to bemore of this the last couple of years
and just kind of with the vibeof like it's all gonna work out,
(08:03):
you know what I mean, Likeit's it's something changes, something goes the
wrong way, it'll all work out. And I also think that goes to
it too, like if you there'sthe old adage like if you're always prepared,
you never have to get ready.I kind of believe that, you
know, like if you're always,if you're never cutting corners when something goes
wrong, you'll be fine. Likethere's stuff that goes wrong with like the
(08:26):
comedy tour all the time. There'sstuff that goes wrong with the morning show
every day. The show never runshow it's supposed to, and that's okay,
and I think it'd be boring ifit did. But just the idea
of like, we'll figure it out. You know, we had a good
true here, we have the bestteam possible here, We're gonna figure things
out. Strong work ethic, Yeah, high value men tend to have a
(08:48):
strong work ethic. They're dedicated totheir personal and professional goals, demonstrating discipline,
determination, and commitment to success.Again, I don't want to keep
patting myself in the back. Ithink that I am more disciplined than I
probably ever have been, to thepoint of like if I'm gonna be going
out like on a Thursday, notthat I did last night, but the
(09:13):
alarm still goes ov at two fortyfive, maybe two fifty, maybe two
fifty, But that like that kindof vibe of like, yeah, you
got responsibilities, you know what Imean, like you have things yet take
care of you got you have peoplethat were the respond to you. But
also too I think at some point, you know, dude's life, you
(09:33):
realize and not that it's not thesame for women. But I'm speaking as
a guy myself, where it's like, Okay, you know, your dad
gave you the tools, hopefully toshow you what to do, but now
it's like it's on you. Youknow what I mean. It's a very
scary game. Man, It's avery scary game. You know, you
get yourself. Like for me,it's like with the show especially, I've
always kind of believed, like thisthing fails, man, that's on me,
(09:56):
Like that will be the headline, that will be the this thing fails,
am I people, I'll let downpeople's families who depend on the show.
It's a lot, but it's alsoit's good though, Like I'm excited,
show's doing well. Everything's going good. I can actually eat food and
not run the bathroom. That's exciting, you know what I mean. Not
(10:18):
having lava come out of you either. End, but little things baby,
Listen, have a great weekend.Make sure you get your tickets for Baltimore.
