Speaker 2 (00:00):
In a Happy Friday. Friend.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Thought Shower. Internshohn is my name. Hopefully
you've had a fantastic week. Mine was busy, a lot
going on this week. Your boy did a lot of
TV this week got faced for television who had thought,
certainly me, no busy week, but good week, you know,

(00:24):
getting back from seeing my brother in Saint Louis this
past weekend. They kind of trying to recalibrate this weekend.
On Wednesday, I did NBC No Yeah, NBC TV with
our good friend Doug camera, which was its.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
A lot of fun, A bit of a trek.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Had to go from my house to the bar then
to where Doug was filming, which usually takes forty minutes.
This time, because of traffic, took about an hour forty
one hour and forty minutes, which I get carsick, especially
if it's stop and go. So that was not a

(01:05):
good ride. That was not the journey for me. And
then did NBC that was a lot of fun. Then
on Thursday did Fox TV a lot of fun. I
did a couple of shows there which is very cool,
and you know it's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I don't know. I like doing the TV stuff. It's fun.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Obviously hosting a show and kind of dictating the flow
of traffic. It's a lot of fun too to just
show up and get to comment on things. To just
show up and get to joke about things is one
of my favorite things to do because it's just kind
of like you know, with the morning show, it's like

(01:42):
I'm I'm pitching batting practice to the show, like I'm
trying to throw them something they can hit, you know
what I'm saying. And with me being like a guest host,
I just get to sit back and crack bombs, baby,
sit back and launch them over the fence. So different vibes,
for sure. I'm exhausted, though I was getting a little

(02:02):
bit exhausted yesterday. I can kind of tell it wasn't
on my A game during television. But I had a
lot of fun and hopefully you a chance to do
more if you miss any of the TV stuff On
my Instagram it is at Internjohn Radio. I had somebody
ask what the head piece is that you wear on TV?
And so, long story show, you ever watched news folks

(02:25):
or somebody on TV you see they wear this little
like corded headphone thing. What that is is mainly if
you're on the air in the studio is to hear
your producer, who will tell you like, hey, we're back
in a minute, wrap it up, YadA, YadA. But for like,
for instance, on Wednesday, when Doug and I were on
location doing TV. The weird thing is when you do

(02:47):
TV not in the studio with the anchors, you're in
front of a camera. Obviously you can't see what you're
looking at. You're looking at the camera lens. There's no like, oh,
I can look at myself on TV. So imagine used
to camera lens and the only way you can hear
what's going on is through that earpiece. So that's a
little bit like terrifying. And that's why I think sometimes

(03:08):
TV folks look a little bit like a deer in
headlights because they have no idea what's happening. And so
that's like a very interesting thing. It's legit kind of
like secret service. But there we go. Anyway, let me
get to this for your Friday, The reasons you're single
despite being a total catch. Now, do I consider myself
a catch? I do, of course, of course, No, I

(03:31):
think I do. Yeah, I mean I have a job,
so that's good. They'm nice, I'm funny, parents love me.
The reason why I'm single is for me. I think
I haven't found the right person yet. I know that's
very generic. I think not to quote Drake, but Drake
had a great quote. Somebody asked him about, you know,

(03:52):
what he's looking for in a relationship, and he said that,
you know, he's the captain of a ship. He guys like,
I look behind me, I see a lot of people
dependent on how I steer this ship. I need somebody
who can help me and standing by the wheel with
me without me having to pull over because they're seasick.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
And I was like, I get that.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Obviously, I'm not on a Drake level for sure, but
it is like, yeah, I got a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Of people accounting me.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
There's a lot going on with the show and the
podcast and TV and radio and comedy and hockey, where
it's like, I got a lot of folks that depend
on me. I need somebody who can not get seasick,
so to speak, and kind of rock with me. But
also I think knowing that it's gonna work out, and
like yet it's it can be a fast lifestyle certainly,

(04:38):
and a busy lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
However it works out.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
I think the problem in the past has been people
have gotten a little bit seasick, which that's their journey,
you know, enjoy the view. I guess the first thing
they say is, you're unintentionally sending mixed signals. Oh boy,
sometimes you're not where the vibes are putting out in
the world. Mixed signals can confuse people, making it hard
for someone to know if you're genuinely interested. According to

(05:03):
the relationship expert, I do think. Yeah, they say it's
easy to get caught between playing it cool, but sometimes
it just comes off as aloof.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I think that's also tough too, just because for dudes
at least, and I've said this in the show a
million times, dudes are so afraid of misreading the situation
of thinking you're romantic and then pulling back. Because I
do think I'm sure goes both ways. But for like women,
I've always said, like on the show, like yo, be
as open as possible, Like tell the guy that you're

(05:38):
into him, so that way he knows for sure, because
otherwise he's like, I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Want to make things weird? Do I make things awkward? Here?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
You're on the career climb, being driven your career is fantastic,
it can leave little room for a partner. You might
think you're setting a strong foundation for the future, but
time is flying. By prioritizing your job, it could be
missing on opportunities to meet new people. Yeah, I mean
that's always a tough thing too. I've like I try
to explain to people, like how busy I am, and again,

(06:08):
it's not meant to be a flex but like, well,
you know, for the right person, you'll you know, switch
things up.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
And it's like sure, like that that's fair.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
However, I can't switch things up so though until I
know for sure it's the right thing, you know, Like
I got too many people that rely on me. Also,
I've been doing this half my life. You know, put
some time in this thing and make sure it works out.
You have non negotiable standards. They say having standards is crucial,
but sometimes that can be sky high. It's great to

(06:37):
know what you want, but being too picky you can
limit your options. I have a friend who is a realtor. Actually,
when about my house, and I was talking to my
realtor and he's like, hey, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
The house that you're looking for doesn't exist. I was like,
what do you mean.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
He's like, you're looking for this perfect house that meets
every single one of your knees. He's like, that house
doesn't exist, like you need to have, like it can't be. Okay,
so you want, you know, four bedroom, three baths, Okay,
that's that's good. But four bedrooms, three baths with a
jacuzzi and a walking closet and a walkout basement, Like

(07:14):
that house unless you build it from scratch, doesn't exist.
I do think that's important. I do think that some folks. Yeah,
like the standards are just like that person isn't a
real person, you know what I mean. Or it's almost
like you have a specific person in mind and you
don't realize it. Like maybe you're you're trying to fill

(07:36):
that void from your ex, and because of that, the
person you're looking for in the app happens to be
their height, their eyes, their everything. And Yeah, that's an
issue for sure if you're not over your ex. Yeah,
lingering feelings for an axe can definitely keep you from
moving forward your dating life. If you're holding memories, hopes,

(07:57):
or what ifs of past relationships, it can be hard
to see new possibilities.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
I don't think that's ever been me, but I can
understand that.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Though I also understand the other way too, when people
try to move on too quickly, where it's like, ooh,
did you actually heal or are you trying to kind
of fill that void and see what goes on?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
You know, two different things.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
You're enjoying the single life, they say, sometimes being single
is exactly where you want to be. You might genuinely
enjoy freedom that comes with not being tied to somebody else.
That is kind of me again, like because of the job,
I'm tired a lot, So for me, like it's nice
to like, if I want to stay in and not
do anything, I don't feel guilty about that, you know,

(08:42):
I can just sit relax and not worry about that.
To me, like that's a very nice thing. Or if
I want to go somewhere on vacation, I can just go,
you know, wherever I want to go and not worry
about somebody else.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
I do kind of like that.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Now on the flip side, is it nice to have
somebody who share those things with sure, no doubt, but
it is nice to kind of be able to call
your own shots. You know you're doing vacation by myself.
The last couple of years has been so much fun
because I get to go where I want to go,
do what I want to do, and just kind.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Of, you know, enjoy the overall ride itself.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Look, I hope you have a fantastic Friday, a fantastic weekend.
I cannot say enough thank you for listening. If you
miss any of my TV stuff this week, you make
sure catch that on the Instagram. It's a lot of
fun and I appreciate your feedback, appreciate you watching and supporting.
I'll be at Hide Socialist weekend and clear, and so

(09:36):
if you're looking to you go out and well be social.
