Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a happy Monday. Friend. Welcome to the thought Shower.
Intern John is my name. It was a weekend, very
important weekend, very milestone ish weekend for your boy and
the intern John family as well. So long story short,
my brother told us I'm trying to think of when

(00:23):
he told me, I guess you had three months to
the October, probably around I guess it was Christmas. It
was Christmas told our family run Christmas that he and
his wife were expecting baby and the do date was
gonna be in July. Here we are, and then it
was kind of exciting because they didn't know what they
were gonna have. I selfishly waned a boy, because I

(00:48):
don't know a little girl. For one thing, I would
be putty around. A little girl would make me go bankrupt,
not that this one is not going to, but for
sure would be that. So I was kind of secretly
hoping a boy. But obviously when everybody says you hope
baby's happy, healthy, no doubt, so they ain't know what

(01:09):
they're gonna have. Then a week ago today baby was born,
Baby Jack. Very exciting. So it's kind of a bit
of a scramble to get the flights out to Saint Louis.
For whatever reason, maybe you've noticed this too, there just
seems to be like a less variety of flights to
go places. For whatever reason. It seems like when you

(01:30):
choose to go someplace, there's about two options to come home,
and one's really early, one's really late. And this feels
maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. It just feels like
there was always more options. So here's how the trip
kind of went down. So Friday after the show, go
to the airport. Everything's fine, get on the plane, everything's fine.

(01:53):
Land in Saint Louis. Around I want to say four
point thirty. Well I hate about that airport. Said this before,
is the rental car place isn't on campus. You have
to take a bus to it, paying the ass That
should be illegal, E lee go, especially because I believe
that particular car company is based in Saint Louis. I'm

(02:15):
nearly positive, so that's annoying. But anyway, get to the
hotel and I'm like, I'm packing things real quickly realize
don't have my AirPods. I'm like, oh, oh, maybe they're
in the car. And I'm not the biggest fan of
the find my feature on the iPhone where you can
find devices, because a lot of times I feel like
it doesn't work. So I pull up Find my and

(02:36):
it shows my AirPods are in the airport past security.
I'm like, oh, that's weird, Like that can't be Maybe
they just you know, the sensor hasn't picked them up
and they are in my backpack. But the last time
it was pinged is show the airport. Minutes go by,
half hours go by, they're still at the airport. And

(02:59):
this is the thing about AirPods, at least for me,
Like if you're thinking, oh, maybe they fell out of
your bag, Okay, but that happens, you'd hear it, and
like my AirPods like they would scatter, do you know
what I mean? Like they would fall and scatter so
that it wouldn't show them necessarily all together, like it
would show them kind of spread out or whatever. And

(03:21):
so that was like the oddest part of the whole trip,
if I'm being completely honest, was like, how did this happen?
And why are they staying in the same place? Because
I also kind of thought like if somebody found them,
they probably would have kept them. Although I do think
that of all the things you could steal from somebody.
Air pods for sure, the grossest, for sure, the grossest

(03:45):
headphones in general, like the in your headphones sharing those.
I don't know if I do that with a spouse.
I don't know. Like I'd rather share a toothbrush than
the ear thing. I don't. I don't quite know anyway, Baby,
So go over see baby Jack. Kid's a stud. It
was funny because in the photos he looked like an
absolute tank, like, he looked massive. He's a little baby,

(04:09):
a little baby. He's got big hands. So I'm trying
to think. So on I saw him on Friday. He
was he was awake, he was awake, so we, you know,
hung out for a little bit, just kind of vibe.
It was very cool to see my parents as grandparents.
That was very cool. To see my brother as a dad.
That was very cool. And it is just kind of

(04:30):
like everything a baby does, Like isn't this the greatest
thing ever? Now? I will say this, I mean this.
He loves me. I can tell clearly his favorite, clearly
the favorite. He was holding my finger. He was like
listening very intently to every word I had to say,
and I had baby fever, Like this would be great

(04:51):
to have also too, like he didn't really cry. Now
I know that I wasn't there overnights certainly, and I
know that a lot and chain certainly, but he did
a great job of tricking me in like the thirty
six hours forty hours I was there of like, dude,
a baby's easy, Yeah, this is all I do, was

(05:11):
like feed it and he just kind of hangs out.
He did a fantastic job of that. So that was Friday. Saturday.
I got relatively early. Actually I slept like twelve hours,
which is crazy. So I like went to bed at
like nine, woke up like eight. I realized that's eleven
hours whatever, which is good because again, like I rarely

(05:33):
sleep in. But like I checked my phone AirPods still
at the airport. I'm like, this is the most bizarre thing.
Like I guess they're actually there, Like this is this
is real life. So my brother and I hung out
a little bit basically all day on Saturday, which was
a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun.
So we went to get some food, did a little

(05:56):
driving around, YadA YadA, went back hung out with the
kid there exciting, and I was getting a little flack
for like oh, you're holding him like a like a
new uncle. Well was like yeah, because he can't be
all nonchalant when you first, you know, hold the baby.
You gotta be like, okay, I'm taking care of this thing.

(06:17):
We're good to go. I know the babies are stronger
than they look, but at first you gotta be like,
all right, y'all, can trust me with your child? You
know you can vibe. And it kind of worked out too.
Was nice because my birthday is in uh hold on,
I think it's in two weeks. Hold on, let me check.
Officially birthdays in two weeks. So have my parents there.

(06:38):
We got to do like we can't do birthday cake.
We did uh Buster bars, which is a dairy queen delicacy.
Got to do that was very exciting. Got to spend
it with the family, very exciting. And then the big
thing for me was like I mean, obviously seeing the kid,
no doubt, But on Sunday going back to the airport,
I'm like, all right, let me see if the AirPods
show up in sure shooting, they still show they're at

(07:02):
the airport, And so like I'm walking around and I'm like, okay,
I get through TSA and that's where it showed me.
On the map. It shows me where the AirPods are
roughly where I am. I'm right on top of them.
And so I go to the TSA desk. I'm like, hey,
you know my AirPods. They're here, and the guy's like,
what do you mean. I'm like, I don't know, dude,

(07:23):
Like they're here. I lost them on Friday. They're giving
off the signal that they are here, and he said, well,
they're probably in a TSA locker. I was like, okay,
can we get them. He's like no. I'm like perfect.
You have to submit a form online for TSA. I'm
like all right, so there's that. So I submitted the form.
We'll see what happens. I had to like explain it.

(07:45):
That's the problem with AirPods. It's like they all look
the same. Although with these ones, I set up like
a notification like, hey, if they're found, I'm looking for them,
please let me know. We'll see if it happens. I
just checked right now. They're still at the airport, so
I don't know. Will I get him back. We'll see.
It's also one of those things where it's like if

(08:05):
they're like, hey, we'll send them back to you for
fifty bucks. It's like okay at that point, so I
don't know. Again, at least it's air pods. I would
think most people wouldn't steal AirPods like use ones. Again,
I would think of all the things that you don't
want putting in your body, it's somebody else's air pods
where you don't know where they are. And let's be honest,
if you have wireless headphones, all the cases look crusty

(08:29):
after a while, so we'll see what happens. But anyway,
the kid's doorable. You want to see photos of my nephew.
I got my Instagram at intern John Radio, Uncle I
J and full effect. You know, I would say, I
can't wait till the kid has like a personality so
I can get like cooler stuff for him. Right now
is more so baby stuff, stuff for you know, mom

(08:50):
and dad, which obviously important, but I want to get
the cool stuff like his first power wheel, you know
what I mean, his first uh numb chucks, that kind
of stuff. You can see the photos at intern Genre
