Apparently Nancy had cut the lady off and hopped out

hear people's horns, and there's just something about a damn
horn that gets everybody's blood boiling. Bro, don't hawk of

educational competition.

So there's a huge spelling bee championship that's gonna be
going on and this time around, we got four students
coming from the Bay Area, and I know, in this
time where.

We feel like education is in turmoil.

Man, these teachers are getting notices that they won't be
brought back next year, their departments, their complete education, you know,
centerpieces are being removed from schools, universities, getting rid of
sports like it's it's a weird time.

There's so much going on.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
And to just see that the you know, regardless, these
students are persevering is pretty impressive and it needs to
be applauded.

We got a lot of these yunksters coming from the
South Bay there sign a g shout out to I'm
just gonna go ahead and say it the illustrious Los
Alto School District out here because they have one of
the top spellers out there.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
My girl, didn't you say? They've just na yeah, ya Nama.

She's out there and she won the country's fourth and
sixth grade elementary division spelling b Austin Falls from the
Mount Pleasant Elementary School District got the runner up.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
And then young Nancy Newin from out there in Mount
Pleasant as well. They got some spellers out there in
Mount Pleasant. Shout out to y'all. And also Raymond Mattlove
of the Alum Rock School District. Also he's gonna be
competing for the seventh and ninth grade championships. These youngsters
gonna be out there in Mentica for the state wide movement.

Absolutely that's gonna get on going down April twenty six.

Big, man. Can you imagine.

Shoot, these kids have to get up in front of everyone,
and then you know they're already nerve wracked, right, They're
up there trying to figure out.

Okay and something people don't think about.

They'll throw any kind of word at you really with French,
you know, background or whatever. And you know, the spelling
of some of these words is crazy.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
Son nearve wracking. So for example, for one word, it
was perciod, the other person says, so percod for that word.
You know, so you have to ask for the language
of origin, right, and then you see that's French. And
then if you have the e sound, then you instantly
know it's ill.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
And there are some words that have up to five
alternative pronunciation. Yeah, so you know, on top of them
just being young people, they got to go out there.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
They're being tested. Everybody's watching, So it's a really big thing.

These spelling bees and their parents and absolutely them need
to be applauded for taking them out to stuff like this.
It's going to further them not only in just being
knowing how to spell a bunch of words, but also
their persona like who they are, not being afraid to
get out there and be in front of folks.

And show them what they know and whatever they end
up doing.
