(00:00):
Sonic cast time with people that yougirl sona what's that? Hey? Hey,
you play a fight in the GEPbiz. So let's talk about this
fight, right, because it justdropped down that there is a planned fight
at at and T Stadium nonetheless inArlington, Texas, where it's the home
of the Dallas Cowboys. This fightis going to go down between Jake Paul

(00:21):
and Mike Tyson, and the debateshave been going crazy on social media and
in person since this announcement was made. I mean, the simple statement of
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in aring shouldn't even go together, Like,
there's no way you should be ableto say those two names in the same

(00:41):
sentence. But apparently live on NetflixJuly twentieth, it's about up a spectacle.
Rah. I'm laughing at the commentsalready. Somebody said, Jake Paul
ain't even worthy. Whooped that asstrick? Whoa who that trick? That's
I mean, come on, bro, Mike Tyson maybe old what fifty eight

(01:03):
years now? You're fifty eight yearsold, you know, still doing some
small boxing here and there. JakePaul twenty seven, still been trying to
do his thing, but it's itfeels like all his fights are just like
gimmicks. I don't I can't sayI necessarily take him serious. Yeah,
I mean, here's my theory.Obviously, I feel like Tyson is behind

(01:25):
this entire thing. I don't knowhow many people can really convince. I
mean, Jerry's not desperate for money, but you got to be a homie
for him to be like, yeah, you want to use Cowboys standio,
no problem. So somebody really bigis tied into this whole thing, and
I'm guessing it's Tyson, and he'sprobably gonna take an ill because he's making
big bag on it. Anyway,Like that thing is gonna be full.

(01:45):
People aren't gonna want to see MikeTyson again. It's really gonna boil down
to that. You know, ishe older? Yes? Does he train?
Yes? Is Jake Paul like prettygood as a fighter surprisingly to everyone?
Yes? All right, see howit goes. But what I know
is, even if it is asetup, and we know a lot of
sports are entertainment, wrestling, boxing, I feel like it is if one

(02:08):
accidental two piece that's all we needlands correctly shoot a one piece A drumstick
lands on Jake Paul's face. Idon't know if he's gonna make it out
of their lives, like it's gonnahave to be, you know, dancing
on eggshells in there, because Tysan'sgonna probably have to hold back some of

(02:30):
that power. He might get winded. A lot of people feel like Jake
Paul's gonna wind him out and youknow whatever. Sure that might be part
of the plan, but again,an accidental boom that might be a problem.
That's all you need and to think, okay, well, yeah,
Mike Tyson's older again, like yousaid, there sonag the man is still
training religiously. If you haven't seenhim in action lately, I mean his

(02:53):
training videos make me a little alittle sweamish. Mike is in there,
stand trading partner up now, I'mgonna give you some stats. Jake Paul
height six' one, reach sevento six, so he definitely has the
height advantage on Mike. And yes, thirty years younger. But Mike Tyson
is an animal, still just wild. The man sits down and has a

(03:16):
podcast every daymn week and you cansee the fire still burning in his eyes.
That's iron Mike bruh. Yeah, period, And let's not forget the
almighty earbindings. Don't let him getlost in the sauce and start having flashbacks,
cause it might be a problem matter. I got a whole full bag
of them gummies that he put outwith the half bitten ear at the crypt.

(03:36):
They're good. I'm not mad atSo we'll see what happens with the
fight. I definitely wish I couldbe in the building. I don't know,
you know these promoters out here.If y'all are tapped in, please
let us know. We will takea flight hopefully that you pay for Man,
and we will be in the buildingcovering it with media, making sure
you get more people to tune in, because it's gonna be pretty epic,
regardless of whether it's a you knowwhat, do they call him exhibition fight

(04:00):
or not or whatever, which itabsolutely has to be Man for sure.
Hell, even if it might takea dive, its gonna be a big
fight period. Let's not play withit. Y I'm talking about though,
and huge for Netflix. I meanwhat this is what their third third time
doing actual a live sporting event.First time they're diving into the world of
boxing, So that's humongous for streamingsites. This is gonna be pretty.
It's gonna be an epic night.Man for real, for real. I

(04:21):
just want to be at the Cowboysstadium. I haven't been there yet.
How the hell has our producer beeninside that stadium. He ain't even a
Cowboy fan. You know, you'renot even a sports fan, period.
Come on. So it's kind ofdisappointing, but I'd go for this.
Yeah, man, So again Julytwentieth, everybody's gonna be locked and loaded
on Netflix and see what's popping.Team Tyson. Let's go so locally here

(04:44):
in the Bay Area, and Iknow people you know across the globe deal
with different types of crime and whatevermight be suppressing your people. And here
it's like the jobs keep disappearing.I guess food stamps running out or not
enough for y'all selling them all forcash and doing other things. A big
thing for us here is just peoplelooting these stores, just walking into either

(05:08):
clothing stores and grocery stores. Italked to my homegirl, Donna, shout
out to her. She works atmy Safeway. And there is no age,
shape, color, gender to thesepeople that walk into the grocery store,
fill up a bag or eat inside. And just dump it and leave.
And it's just getting absolutely crazy.Like when I walk in and I'll

(05:30):
have a conversation with her. Ithink she was asking me about some stuff
that was going on with her housingsituation, because you know, i'd do
real estate. Now y'all need melet me know. But you know,
she was like, man, she'sjust evil eyeing the people. It's like
she knows who they are when theycome in already, either their second to
third or fourth or fifth time offenders, or she just recognizes the profile.

(05:55):
And I remember specifically this time,I was a young really young man high
school or opening up a big bagand I was like, maybe he's just
shopping for his mom, Donna. He was like, she was like,
nah, he's about to go fillthat bag up and walk out. Watch
And I didn't follow it till theend. And he looked well put together,
you know, how to fit itat on some jays, you know,

(06:16):
windbreaker whatever. He looked fine.So I mean not that it has
a look. And he even saysold people, old women, old men,
they'll come in. They probably areliving on Social Security and they,
I guess can't afford it. Sowe had a girl an employee recently here
in the Bay Area that you know, took it upon herself to go ahead
and try to intervene a person fromstealing. It got a little physical right

(06:40):
between her and another employee and thisperson who was stealing, and they cut
her. But there is that lawin place that you're not supposed to intervene
with any shoplifters. And I thinkthe saddest part for me is, you
know, she got released under misconductand so because of that, she can't

(07:03):
receive any unemployment. So it's justlike I care as a shopper, Like
I'll say, shit, I'm gonnatalk shit to you if I see,
oh you gotta do that, huh, all right, don't let that karma
come kick you in the ass later, Like I'll say stuff like that.
But I also understand that the pricesare so god dang high. Even a

(07:24):
loaf of bread's like five something sometimesfor the you know whatever, So it's
nuts. I just hope that thiswoman finds a way because she's gotten a
turning now, yeah, you know, And it's sad when you see the
law protect the criminals more than itdoes the folks who are here trying to
do right. You know, Andit's a situation like this that reminds you,
that puts you in your mind. Now, you know, I don't

(07:44):
personally know Anternet shout out to youthere, baby six filthy original as well.
But you know, I'm just likeyou don't know what her situation.
When this woman might have kids athome, you know what I mean,
she might have folks and family whodepend on her, you know, to
get up and go to work everyday. And now you're literally just throwing
her to the wolves, saying we'regonna take away any and all means of
you being able to bring any moneyin. You can't even collect unemployment like

(08:07):
this is terrible, like literally andfor what because somebody wanted to come in
and try to walk out with overfive hundred dollars worth of groceries. Hell,
they're trying to change the law rightnow, so that would become a
felony. So for right, Sofor folks who are living in this gray
area, you know what I mean, how you supposed to number one,
have a moral compass. Number two, do right by the law. Number
three, hold on to your damnjob and not be frustrated at the system.

(08:30):
It's just it's it's it's it's tearingus apart, man, and I
understand how hard this, how hardthis must be, and how much of
m I just tear us apart toher, her family apart as well,
because this is its sad bro.And on the other end, it's like
these grocery store employees are watching locationsclosed, yes, because they can't,

(08:52):
you know, make the numbers work. They're like, okay, we're allowing
people to walk out with bags ofgroceries. I think this particular person that
she, you know, they endedup getting and so they saw how much
they took. It was like fivehundred dollars worth of groceries, which you
might be joking and be like,oh well that was a thing, a
try tip and a loaf of bread. It was five hundred bucks, because

(09:13):
that's how the prices feel nowadays. But you know, if they continue to
go through that, they're going tocontinue to close stores. And what we're
gonna do without any grocery stores accessible, We're gonna have to go across town
where they call it the good neighborhood, or wherever the case may be,
because they haven't initiated all these receiptchecking things. In all the locations yet
and that probably costs a company moremoney as well. So sure she was

(09:37):
protecting herself, her place of employment, her family, her you know,
job. Like it's just you know, sad that she's being treated this way.
The least they could do is changethe description of why she was released
because misconducts. She's not gonna beable to get any money from the government,

(09:58):
and I would hope that at somepoint he finds another job, because
we're tired of paying them unemployments too, telling you that's saxpayer dollars and that's
all it's hurting is the folks whoactually pay their take exactly. Yeah,
So I mean, I don't know, man, We're in a bad place.
I say this to people all thetime, like the stuff that we're
seeing, the looting, the robbing, the armed robberies. You know,

(10:20):
fools is pulling over in front offools on the road on a freeway,
either taking their car, taking theirpurse out of the car, just a
violence. Shoot. I think oneof the saddest things for me was just
watching that ice cream man that balletaman just get padded down by a couple
of teenagers and it's not getting anybetter out here and homeless population, like

(10:41):
you know, after COVID, wethought COVID was bad. We can't get
back on our feet. No,So it's scary to think about. You
know. People tell me, oh, I'm going to start a family.
I was like, don't have nokids. Are you paying attention to what's
going on right now? Like I'mworried about my teenager and what it's going
to look like. Shoot, wemight move out state one day, I
mean, because California is hitting usover the head as taxpayers, you know,

(11:05):
to try to keep things alive, and yet a lot of the issues
that we have aren't getting taken careof. So we're shutting down schools,
we're shutting down retail stores, andnobody coming down to San Francisco no more.
We're losing conventions and gatherings. Likeit's just insane. So I don't
know it's gonna you know, Italked about it with boss Man one time,
our boss over here at iHeart, and he was like, it's gonna

(11:26):
take at least ten years for usto fix everything that's wrong. Yeah,
I mean, it's a shit show. We're living in Grand theft autto It's
what it is. And it's again, it's sad that the people who are
paying the most are the ones thatare sitting right right in the middle,
you know, the hard working theuse of the middle class. I'm here,
you know, the folks who havesat there like, why, you

(11:46):
know, I did everything my familytold me, so, I went to
school, I did this, Idid that. Now I'm still trying to
figure out how to rob Peter topay Paul. And that's where we are,
man, And it's you know,it is terrible. And I feel
like just kind of echoing what yousaid around these folks who are working these
hard jobs, and it's like you'rejust seeing doors closed everywhere. Well,

(12:07):
what happens to these folks who areemployed over there at the in and out
off of Haggenberger. Now they gota hope that they have a job at
the Alameter location. The folks whoare working at the Denny's over there off
of Heggenberger, they got a hopethat they'll open their doors for them over
there in San Leandro. And itcontinues to it just continues to happen all
throughout this area. And it's like, you know, amen, can we
get a break somewhere, gas goingup, rent still high as hell,

(12:31):
mortgage rates ridiculous yet and still mypay ain't seen a bump. And this
is the This is the this isthe consistent story for too many families out
here, and it's like, whereis the relief, and don't we don't
need it in the form of,you know, a couple of relief checks
though, thank you, Gavin,we appreciated those, h but we need

(12:54):
a long term, sustainable change toactually happen, to be able to make
this area liveable for those fools whoare still gonna be out here committing crimes
no matter what. We need.We need some more honestly legal attention,
which you would rarely hear me say, but absolutely we need to do some
about this damn crime. They can'tdo anything. I was talking to the
homie DJ black Mark out here inthe city. They can't chase nobody.

(13:18):
They're they're gonna start deploying drones andthat because that'll be the answer. I
don't know what they're thinking, man, I guess to at least get facial
recognition and also license plate follow themhome. They're gonna stop somewhere at some
point. True, So you know, shoot, We're gonna have people shooting
up in the sky now, shootingat drones so they don't get caught.

(13:39):
Like, what's what's gonna happen.So I feel like there's a lot of
ideas and theories and whatever that areroaming around out there and the powers that
be, and this is just thisis a big part of why we need
to vote. And we just hadprimary and nobody showed up for it.
So the tendons for the voting pollswas really low astronomically. Yeah, and

(14:03):
I don't know how many people mailedin. I did mine last minute and
dumped it off in one of theyou know, one of the stations.
And I know a lot of peopleare under the impression like our vote doesn't
count, it don't matter anyway,Well, it really don't matter if you
don't shoot right, like you don'tyou miss all the shots you don't take
right. So whether it's true ornot, still do your part as a

(14:26):
US citizen, a resident of Californiaand put your votes in because these people
are going to be the ones thatare going to be defining how we move
forward. I mean, it's honestly, it's your civil duty and for a
lot of y'all that might not meannothing, but that means somebody actually had
to go ahead and die and fightfor you to be able to vote.
And you know, it's terrible whenyou look at it, especially because the

(14:46):
main I think source that people forgetabout in these primaries, especially is you're
voting on folks who literally have somethingto do with where you live. Yes,
we all looked and just see exactlywhat's going on with the real election.
You might even look as far asto say, well, who could
possibly, you know, be thesenator coming up here in twenty twenty four,

(15:07):
But how about those local elections. Most of y'all don't even know who
your congress person is for your localdistrict. You don't know exactly who sits
on the chair or the board ofdirectors for your school board. You don't
know these folks who literally have aday to day impact on how your children
and your family live. That's whyit's important. Voting on a local level

(15:28):
should be imperative, especially if youhave kids or people that you care about
in your household. Period. Soget out and vote. Always say this.
People are real good at complaining.Oh for sure, are you an
expert you complain every day prices andthis and my job and I'm this,
and I can't you know landlord andblah blah blah. A lot of the

(15:50):
issues that we, you know, have, you can let your voice be
heard about it, but you gotto read the propositions and you got to
know about I mean, we canonly know so much about some of these
candidates, true, but you know, just trust your gut. I guess
if somebody's really speaking on something thatmoves you, you might want to step
forward and support that person or denythe ones that don't really be talking about

(16:14):
what you agree with. Like that'sjust how it works. But you got
to pay attention. Like I saidin the mail the other day, for
one of these, I think itwas a senator. I got a freaking
flyer with a freaking pentagon and afucking or a fuck Oiji pard On,
it are you sing? And Idon't know if that was just his form
of trying to get attention. Hemight have been a Christian candidate or something.

(16:37):
But I was like that, that'snot going to do it for me.
I guess I get where you're going, But now I'm scared. And
you put this in my mailbox. So nah, I'm not messing with what
you're talking about. So we dohave to protect ourselves and our families,
our kids, because we're gonna leavethem all this shit. Yeah, like
you know, we're in the prime, we're watching it. They have to

(17:00):
figure out how to dig themselves outof it. Yeah, so it's important
to uh, you know, justrepresent yourself and your family correctly. Just
care, man, that's it.Just take a second to care, you
know, absolutely, Caring is sharing. Yeah, you know, just just
give a damn people and try tobe better. Please, Yeah, you
know, that's all it's about. And for those of you all like well,
I don know what they stead for. I don't know what they policies,

(17:22):
but you know every damn trend that'sout here, you know everything that
this podcast and not podcast is talkingabout. Fool if you don't sit your
ass down, do a quick littleGoogle search and act like you care before
you fill in some bubbles. It'sthat simple. You know the words to
Sexy Reds record with Drake, ohfor sure, right, but you can't,
you know, inform yourself about who'srunning your city. So anyway,

(17:47):
show up, right, that's it. Three one oh baby, your ass
down to the polls, just left, do it right? Do it?
Yeah? You know how to fillin bubbles. You've been doing that your
whole life. But yeah, man, if you want to rock with us,
just go ahead and like and subscribeto the Son of Cast. We
try to get down here often, but you know, life be lifing,
you know how it is, That'swhat it is. And just share our

(18:08):
thoughts about different stuff. But wealways appreciate when y'all share back, So
comment down below. What's going onin your city? You know, do
they turn up for voting? Youknow, do you got crime going on?
Do you just want to say what'sup? We can give you a
shout on the radio because we dothat too every day of a week.
