After dropping the engagement photos completely unannounced (weirdly the day after Taylor Swift's), we're revelling in the post-engagement glow.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hi, everybody, Welcome to the Afterpard hang On, hang on.
Ella's first time using headphones.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Is it vibrating in this room?

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yeah? Cassie Henderson's sound checking next door ahead of the
A and Z donation station tomorrow, and it feels like
we're in a rave cave.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Never felt this room vibrate.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Is she doing a Drummond bassed DJ set?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
That was a surprise.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, A man'll get you a ring anyway. I don't
think other people can hear it. I don't think it's
coming through. Big day for the Brian Clint team.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Another big day.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I feel like I'm on my body.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I got here, Bri, I got here at tim past
eleven this morning, and I bumped into Claudia. I walked
in behind Claudia here at the same time. Yeah, and
Claudia goes. I was like, girl, we haven't even done
any of the things yet.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
I'd already had a big day by eleven. Am okay.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
But we got through it and we got a wonderful
engagement photo shoot out of it.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, we're engaged everyone.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Is it what you always thought it would be?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, everything and more.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
I'm going to cheat on you with my wife Fair enough.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Actually, there's going to be behind the scenes video for that.
I'll try post it on the weekend because it was
very funny. You guys look really tense.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, but we weren't. We were tensing. That's the difference. Yes,
we looked tense, but actually we were trying to get.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
The best outcome, trying to be jacked, like Travis Kelcher.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
And Taylor Swift.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
She jack made me realize, I'm going to work my
arm super hard at the gym, just my arm. My
legs get so sore, same, you know, to fix like
my life way more like sitting.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Down, just hot, walking upstairs, putting on.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
The toilet, getting back up from the toilet. Terrible, horrible.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
What she doesn't know because she's eleven and yeah and
doesn't exercise.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I was going to say that you been.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
On a run today. I'm actually a runner.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Now, how far did you run?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
On distance?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
So it's it's literally from couch to five k over
six weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
It's a good app.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Know if it's actually the app anyway I did. It's
through Ryan's my husband's watch. Okay, so I don't know,
but he's just telling me what to do and he's
like walking beside me as I'm running. But it's like
five minute warm ap, three minute run, two minutes walk,
three minute run, two minute walk, three minute run, so

(02:54):
by the last three minute.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
One you should do.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
The second installment of that app was my favorite, which
was Couch to Couch kind of like coach to coach
but to couch, which is kind of good.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
We've seen that one where you can like it pretends
you're in a zombie invasion, but it's like, I love that.
Now you need to run because they're chasing you.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Do you goggles or something?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
It just sounds but I really like that one.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Even looked too far into it because I'm like, I
want to listen to music. I don't want to listen
to no no music while running. That's cooked.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Should find a talk back radio host who infuriates you
and put their podcast on and then just run on
on like pure hatred. I'm the talk back radio infuriates you.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Hate running is the best. Running really hate exercising is
the best. That's when I do my best work.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
That's the That's the what to name Chloe Kardashian Revenge Body.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, the whole point.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Okay, well you guys could piss me off one day
and then I'll go for a run and.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
See how that goes.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Like that'll be hard.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah, probably needs week sometime.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
The best, the best kind is when you after a breakup.
There is nothing more motivating than after a breakup?

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Did you do that?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
What happened to me.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
That you have been doing that? More slow.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Bno, can't relate. We're in a happy, engaged bubble.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I actually love this for you, guys.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
We're in a love bubble.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
My favorite thing is the number of people that don't
get the context.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Soon about collabbing it to my page, because my family
members are going to be like huh. But the good
thing is my wife will get it. She gets I
totally will do it, and she goes very funny.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
I don't think I told to follow that.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
But she's not threatened by No.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
She's gonna be like, what the You need to send
them to her?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Should we get a printed book and send it to her?

Speaker 3 (05:03):

winning photos framed.

Speaker 4 (05:07):

Speaker 3 (05:08):

a tough swipe. An even more challenging.

Speaker 5 (05:17):

Hey you go, some people are into it.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
He needs his ies tested.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
I think it is.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I've always wanted someone out of the four of us
to get together, but I thought it would be Cordier
and someone weird.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah, someone else said I hate that, absolutely fabulous work.
Sharon Casey said, I can't deal hat. But you know
why it's good?

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Why because it.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Evokes an emotion whatever that emotion is.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Obviously there's a rage.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, yeah, I see that.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
You know, it's it's making people they have to say something,
they have to comment.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
But it completely coincidentally is exactly one year on from
our nude photoshop.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Which is a similar vibe.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
This time last year we did our nude shoot for
Definitel Day. Tomorrow is Definitel Day and we've gone an
engagement shoot. You know what we have to do next year?
What sex tape?

Speaker 2 (06:20):

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Do I have to film it?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
And only for the Cancer Society?

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (06:26):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
