Do we know? Do we know how much about Finn Butcher?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
He's a kayaker.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
I'm in great New Zealand as I see you, mate.
Speaker 1 (00:58):

there would be Olympic silver.

This is the Met and Jury Show without Jury this week.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, there you go. Finn Butcher third gold medal for
New Zealand at the Paris Olympics overnight. This was in
the men's kayak cross. We've already heard the commentary at
the end, but let's listen to it again. I'm not
sure who's commentating, but he gives it a hundi.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Justice to navigate it safely and the gold medal is his.
Finn Butcher is an Olympic champion.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
So I he checks his notes. Finn Butcher is an
Olympic champion.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
I mean, he was so excited of a that moment there.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
The commentator wasn't and he'd been thinking about it for
weeks clearly, and then he realized that's actually not his
real voice.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Have to do that.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
It's pretty cool how they get into the water in
that kayak, you know, how they come off and they
jump down into the water. It's a pretty cool sport.
This is the first individual medal won by a man
since twenty sixteen in the Olympics for New Zealand, since
marhe dry star. Yeah. As opposed to a team situation,
(02:27):
let's hear from Dunedinborne Butcher. He was leading from start
to finishing. A flawless final performance comes three years after
acting as the reserve and took yo. The twenty nine
year old was finny. I had to process crazy.
Speaker 7 (02:40):
I couldn't even comprehend it.
Speaker 8 (02:42):
When I exited the last up stream and I.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Was alone in front, it was like wild, It's just
a massive adrenaline dumb.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
And I still still processing.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I won't, I won't get it.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
So good on you, Finn Butcher. Give them a taste
of Kiwe looking at the medal table. That doesn't move
us up from twelve.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
We're still sticking on twelve O.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Three goals, yeah, four silvers, one bronze. Yeah, eight medals
in total, so Canada's just above us.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Okay, well that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
And then when it comes to the per capita table,
we've still got a couple of tiny sovereign nations.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Still yeah, yeah, yeah, some little nations got thrown and
so I think we're I think we're fourth on the
fourth or fifth on the per capitol, which is disappointing.
So Max fortunes at the Valor Drome Cycling Track Team
sprint woman, we got a silver.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
We've just got a silver.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
We've just got the silver. Right now, we just got
the silver.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Apparently got the silver.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Rebecca Pitch, Shane Filton, Elise Andrews all race for gold
and the team sprint after setting a world record time
of forty five point three nine to eight seconds, which
was immediately eclipsed by Britain. It's annoying. Yeah, so when
you when you set a world record, you'd expect to
get gold. So that that changes everything.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Okay, here we go. We've got some Moredy over it.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
We've got some audiover it. Okay, it's breaking news, ladies,
you know, breaking. It's all on and coming.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Through to finished.
Speaker 9 (03:59):
Now it's in front and Brint and hold it, britt
and have held it. Great Britain the gold medaland forty
five point six in New Zealand just slightly behind with
the Les Andrews, but they take the silver.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Medal and we're going crazy in the pole Vault New Zealand.
Three New Zealand women will feature in the final of
the Pole Vault Thursday morning.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Go Key, we here, we got in there.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Medi Eliza McCartney, she's back and back from injury. We've
got imagen Iris and Olivia McTaggart. Well log take heart
in an extended field of twenty Okay's three out of
the twenty our old Kiwis Given Taste Tree athletes are
Hayden Wilde and Ainsley Thorpe. Have revealed their suffered illness
after individual races.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
That is that one of the stories coming out of Paris.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So there wasn't anything to do with the disgusting water
they were in.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
It would have been exactly to do.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
The thought spout was so severe she was bed ridden
for a day. Oh Jesus, and so consider giving up
her spot. Okay, the water quality in the rivers and
the location of the swim leg of the event has
It's been a source of controversy because of an unacceptable
Ecola bacteria account. Anyway, the four time New Zealand chances
of middling and the mixed team relay were ruined by
(05:10):
a bike crash involving Hayden wild to the fourth strong
team eventually finished fourteenth. Germany took gold. But we're sitting
at twelve. We've got three. So is that when we're
sitting at twelve, is that conclude the silver we've just won?
Speaker 5 (05:21):
Yes, it does.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Three goals, four silvers, one bronze, eight and total. Give
them a taste of Keywing, a whole lot of Kiwi, the.

medal table.

and a loup pick.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Shelvin nearly nearly when we sat on the table, Ruda. Yeah,
well We're twelfth at the moment with three gold medals.
No one's won four gold medals, and then eleventh there's Canada,
they've got five.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
It's interesting that China, China are still here. They've got
twenty one gold American again, it's happened again.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Why do you come into the show again Tuesday morning
three in such a guessy state.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
I don't know that it comes just pops up in mid.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
We're gonna have to edit it. We're gonna have to
click that up, rude to add that to the dossier. Anyway,
as we were, okay, as.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I was saying, China have twenty one gold, United States nineteen,
but United States says seventy five medals overall and fifty
two for China. So I don't know. China holding on
Australia at number three. Holy moly, Australia thirteen gold medals,
thirty two in total. I mean, you know, more medals
(09:45):
in France, Great Britain, Germany, these huge countries. Australia are
good at sport. God damn, the get rid of the poul.
See what happens, yeah, exactly, drain the swamps. There you go,
the brain that swamp.
Speaker 5 (09:58):
US presidential candidate Robert IF. Kennedy Junior has released a
bizarre video in which he tells about the time he
dumped a did beer cub in New York Central Park.
He said on the video he thought it would amuse
people by dumping it.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (10:11):
What was that?
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Bizarre?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
I thought it was a funny video. Have you guys
seen this? He's quite a comedian, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Boys,
but he is. It's quite funny.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Is it a new video or is it an old one?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
That's a new video? Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:26):
Did he that beer cub? Did he shoot the boy?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I strangled it. I found it in the subway, took
it to Central Park.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
That is pretty funny. Classic Rica Jr. And Sean Johnson
will retire from the Warriors at the end of the
current NRL leagues.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Ah, and we've got Sean Johnson super fan Mike Minogue
from The Big Show, Mogi. He's going to come in
and share a tribute to Shawnee j in the seven
o'clock hour.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
I believe then that and Jerry Podcast.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Signed for fellas The Wonderful World of Daddy's Massive egg Plant.
No sorry, just a messive egg plant.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
The story we've been trying to get to for days.
We finally have time for a giant vegetable enthusiast from
Iowa broke a world record when he harvested an eggplant
weighing and it is staggering three point seven eight kgs.
And you know, because the eggplants are quite odd to hold,
aren't they? What a tight skin? Kind of empty?
Speaker 8 (11:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah. Dave Bennett from Davis County had his eggplant examined
by Inspector Ivan Hankins.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
That's a funny sentence.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Dave Minnett from Davis County heads massive eggplant examined by
Ivan of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardships
IWA Waits and Movement baraque Right, remember that name Ivant.
You'll need that. I need that going forward from that
Land Stewart's Ships Iowa Wait's Measurement Bureau. Hankins confirmed the
(12:04):
three point seven eight kg eggplant is the largest in
the world. Two years ago, Bennett set the state record
at two point five four kg. So he's added over
at kge to his eggplant in the last year.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
That's impressive.
Speaker 11 (12:17):
Two years, he says, I've been growing egg plants for
probably five years now. Eventually I will have a plague
that says a girl the war plark. Eventually I'll have
I don't know what extent I'm gone for here.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
That's good, good one. It's bang on Iowa, honey.
Speaker 11 (12:34):
Eventually I'll have a plark that says a grill the
world's largest eggplant.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
I mean, we need to blast this photo up on socials.
He's looking as proud as punch with us as massive
plant here. But I have to say, usually an egg
plant tends to be a little more pelo shape than this.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, it is that. This would never work as an
emoji pumpkin. Yeah, we're sure because it was the key
we guy didn't he had the biggest potato. And then
and he was he was adamant it was the biggest potato.
Then they did I guess a DNA check on it
and found it wasn't a potato.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Was really controversial at the top.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
It was well, he I think the guy, we should
look into it. But he's he's still furious about it.
He still claims it's a potato. Oh no, But they're
saying it's a good I believe he said the Guinness
World Records has been in contact to tell him his
application for the record. What's approved. The previous record of
three point two seven kg pounds was growing in England
and twenty twenty two, so big things happening in the
world of egg plant. Can I just clarify the very
(13:29):
first four words and the story A giant vegetable enthusiast.
He's an enthusiast for giant vegetables.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Is not a giant.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Who's a vegetable enthusiast.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
I just wanted to double.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
He does look quite tall. Actually maybe is it great
mule on it?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Imagine we might be missing the story.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
He's a giant.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
He's a giant and he's grown giant vegetables.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Well, I mean three point seven eight kilograms doesn't seem
that large.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Focus on the size of it.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
It's actually ait disappointed when through quicks of jez Anyway,
a giant with a massive egg plant is in the
Goodness Book the World Records. So congratulation.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
Got to day be the Mas and Jerry Show podcast Mashy.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yes, we're looking for the footballers of getting females to
the party because Prime Minister Christopher Luxen has said he
wants to add more woman to his National Party and look,
in my life, I've been desperately struggling to get more
woman to parties that I've been involved in.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yes, I mean I've ended up in a spar pool
with you at your place with about seven eight dudes.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Yeah, no woman to be seen.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Yeah, yeah, I've had a lifetime of sausage parties, snake pits, cockpits, yeh, yeah,
you name it. So any help we can have and
how you actually get women to come to your party,
and look, maybe that'll help out the Prime Minister as well.
Also coming up, we've got Minoghi on the Big Show.
(15:00):
He's coming in to pay tribute to Sean Johnson who's
retiring at the end of the year. He's a huge fan.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
I mean, we haven't got to spoke about, let'speak about
this most this morning, but this is massive news, heartbreaking
news for Shawney Jay, heartbreaking fans, Warriors fans and NRL
fans in fact for that matter, right across the league.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Yeah, hundred percent. We've also got Tom Tom Sainsbury coming
in from eight till nine. He's a contestant on a
Taskmaster season five and you can win five hundred bucks
with our special Taskmaster game. All that and so much
more coming up on the Matt and Jerry Breakfast Show
without Jerry this morning.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
All right, sing it.
Speaker 1 (15:38):

A love peck Genpion and a.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Loud peck chaprio Jo a loud peck Chapriod.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
That's our third gold. So three golds now four silvers
because the women's team Cycling did this.
Speaker 9 (17:07):
It's all on and coming through to the finish. Now
is Britain in front and Britain hold it. Britain and
have held it. Great Britain the gold medal in forty
five point six and New Zealand just slightly behind with
the Lese Andrews, but they take the silver medal.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
New Zealand just slightly behind, but they take the silver medal.
So yeah, we're up to we're up to twelfth on
the medal talley.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
We'll take twelfth. I think I'm happy with twelfth. I
feel good around twelfth. And we've still got Lisa Carrington
to grace us with.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Come on Carrington. She's Carrington and her mates in the
in the kayak.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
She's kicking her campaign off tomorrow night, as is Lydia
Coe as well. I wonder if she'll pick up.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
An money a little girl. Is she in the world
rankings at the moment Foeman's Golf. She's there or thereabouts,
doesn't she?
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Also, we've got three ladies in the pul vault tomorrow morning.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
I'm a good Tuesday morning.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
So many lady pole volters from New Zealand out of
the finals. We've got three of the twenty finalists are
all ladies. Including Eliza McCartney. So give them a taste
of kiwi, as they say.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
And speaking of ladies, we're looking to try and invite
a few more to the party. So next, let's get
stuck into that.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Oh yeah, that's right. As we do every Tuesday, we
look for the four pillars of a quint just the
four quintitatal items will lead into a certain group category.
And since plums Chris Lux in the City wants to
add more women to the National Party, today we're looking
for the four pillars of getting females to your party
three for eight three or the took back function on
your iHeart radio.
Speaker 6 (18:39):
App the Mat and Jerry Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
As we do every Tuesday. And look, we're still celebrating,
don't don't get me wrong. We're still celebrating Finn Butcher
and his goldfin Butcher born in the South, cheese roll
in his mouth and apparently listens to a bit of
hodechi in the gym according to this text. Yeah, it's
exciting a good or targo lad winning a gold We're
still celebrating that. But at the same time, we're looking
to get more females to our parties.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
Hey, I just want to pick it.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Oh, sorry, I was just playing.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I was supposed to crack off a bed there, but
there were some audio of some Shawney j that are sorry.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Later in the show, we're going to get Mogi from
the Big Show and to pay tribute to Shawney Ja
who's retiring at the end of the season from from
League from the NURL. But right now, the four Pillars
of getting females to the part. Of course. The four
Pillars is a segment on The Mat and Jerry Show
where we try and find the four quintessential items related
too a certain group or category examples from the past.
(19:36):
We found that the four pillars of road cones, road cones,
Oh sorry, the four pillars of roadworks, they.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Were road cones.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, budget blowouts, breastfeeding a shovel, Sexy Alexei on the
stop Go lollipop.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Then you hold up those those four pillars of roadworks,
six Lexi on the stop Go lollipop, breastfeeding a shovel,
budget blowouts, and road cones.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
I think we nailed those four.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
I think we nailed them. And this is topical because
the Olympics are in Paris at the moment. The four
Pillars of France, wine, geese, art and pesting.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Yeah again we nailed that.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
And on the back of Shawney Jay retiring the four
pillars of the Warriors, it's our year, razzle dazzle, nine
new kits, a year sold out before you can get it,
and the voice of the wars Diehen went coming off
the back fence with a red hot comment tree. But
what are the four pillers of getting females to your party?
A few suggestions coming through already put a small amount
of effort in. But I know you won't, says this
(20:30):
this texter.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Are they saying one of the four pillars you just
it just requires a small about it effort.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Yeah, but we know you won't.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
I mean there's unnecessarily yeah, yeah, there's no need for that.
Maybe maybe this text is right, but there's no need
for it.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Another text is come and clean up the flat, you peak,
and we might pop around for a couple later.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Well, I mean that reminds you you were saying, mate,
that growing up you always thought that the only thing
you had to do to get a couple of ladies
to your party. And maybe it'd be great to get
some insight from the ladies out there that are listening
this morning. But you just send off of a text
saying hey, I mean the boys, we're having a couple
of quiet ones.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
You know, feel free to come around if you want.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Yeah, And that was the extent of it. And they
knew what they were going to be walking into an
absolute sausage party.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
A bunch of sitting in a row and the couch,
many of them playing video games with the head phones on.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
I mean, this is what we're after here. On three
for eight three, we've had some correspondents from a lady.
She said that she's looking for a cheeseboarder to part.
So this is good to know, Christopher Lexon, if you're
looking to a trick a few more ladies to the
national party, get a cheese board and.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Then how good is the cheese boards? Is like a
slab a one kg of signature series Colby and three biggies.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I think you require at least one cheese It's like
has a bit of a white coating around the outside.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
With yeah or whatever. We'll keep those coming on three
for three eight hundred HORDECHI or the talkback function on
your iHeartRadio app. We are looking for the four pillars
of getting a woman to come round to your party.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
Then Matt and Jerry Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
This is the Matt Jerry Show without Jerry this week.
All right, we're looking for the four all pillows right
now of getting ladies to your party.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
We are three for three. This is in the back
of Chris Luxon saying he wants to get more women
to the National Party. But we're talking about parties nationally,
not political parties, just getting more women into your parties because,
as I said before, in my life I've been involved
in a lot of slashage parties, snake pets and cockpits
es ue. Yeah, and it's better when there's ladies there.
(22:23):
You know, it even just smells better. Call it a brunch.
This is textas shoves some Momosas on a table and
I'm there, that's Sophie. So like we've got a brunch.
It's at seven thirty tonight. Yeah, I think that's some mimosas.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
Bottomless Bottomless Mimosas is always a good one as well.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
This Texas has put the gaming chairs in five TVs
in the lounge away.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Yeah. See this is a problem that I used to
have as well.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
We'd have a bit of a multi screen set up
for the sport and for the gaming at my university flat.
It doesn't exactly, it's not exactly a lady magnet. That
whole set up.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
This Texas is thanks for reinforcing stereotypes. Boys, It's not us,
it's the texters. Oh as a game of check. I'd
be over in a heartbeat to a party where the
boys are sitting around playing Xbox. I love an opportunity
to kick their asses. Okay, well, add some good gin
and I'm even happier.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Sam, Sam, all right, sounds like you should fire up
the PlayStation, mate and focus on that.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Then this text just says tp ah.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I see this. This holds a special place to my heart.
I think I know what this is.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
I think this text is referring to toilet paper.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, that is that is a problem. Look, I don't
want to be involved in any more stereotyping, but I'm
going to say that woman, as a rule, need more
TP of an evening.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Yeah, every time they go to the toilet. You'd have
to say, a lady need requires some toilet paper.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
So if you're going to invite women around to your house,
just get a twelve pack of one ply and.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
I think, okay, like, can I just put it on
the record. I think you should go to the cotton soft.
I think you need to upgrade to at least a
three play toilet paper. Three play see you see in
the text, Hey, where me and the boys having a
few beers around? Come around with we've got a twelve
pack of three. You've got to drop this text thing.
You don't just say me and the boys are having
a couple of drinks. You've got to get rid of
that whole. I think altogether, I think it's a great
selling point that you might have some three high toilet paper,
(24:12):
but I don't think you need be seeing that text
for it to Sorry, mate, that's all right. Speaking of toilets,
there's another text here on three four eight three. Would
it tell you guys to stop peeing all over the
floor and all over the seat at parties?
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Yeah, well, I think that's something that we can work on.
That's a you know, it's a work on.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
What I will also say on the other side of things, though,
is quite often it's a again we're getting into some
serious stereotyping territory, but quite often I'll go to parties
and there's about half a dozen women in the same
toilet for like hours on end. Yeah, so I think
there's also a bit of give and take when it
comes to that. I'm so busting by the time I
get into the toilet that there might be a little
(24:48):
bit of you know, skit.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
On and I think I think men need to be
polite and you know, use the hedge. Use the hedge.
P A gentleman uses the head and not the bath,
not the facilities.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
It's a good rule of thumb.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
Actually, I haven't really thought about that for number one's though, right, Maddie, Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
A huge form number one. A little bit further down
the garden, we will have the four pillars of getting
ladies around to.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Your party almost feels slightly controversial.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
It does a bit actually clean as toilet. It's really
running down men.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
The Mat and Jerry Show podcast Met and Jury Show
without Jerry this week.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Yeah, four of getting a woman around to your party.
And that's because all of us here have struggled to
get women to parties. And it's been one of the
great regrets of my life. How many sausage pits I've
been involved in. It's interesting. I know a couple of
people that run clubs, gentlemen's clubs, oh sort of secret,
sort of speakeasy gentlemen's clubs where they only have dudes around.
(25:55):
And and I never go to those no, because I'm like, well,
I'm sitting around, you know, stinky, And I think if
you have men together for too long without women, we
start to really behave badly. I mean you just look
at the stag do for example. If you have, say,
for example, twelve men of a night, things really spiral
out of control. Great time, They spiral a out of
(26:16):
control and trouble can be had. So lots of ticks
coming through on this key issue for Kiwi's on this
golden day where we've won gold and silver at the Olympics. Celebrities,
especially someone like Jason Mama.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
I mean, well that's all well and good mate, but sorry,
I don't exactly have the ability to call up Mama
and just go, hey, mate, having a party this weekend
with a couple of the boys.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
You want to come around. I mean that's a luxury
that only very few of us have.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Well, I don't have the Jason Momoa car to pull
myself personally, No, never do.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
I do you have the Jason Momoa car to pull yourself.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
You can use Welles's bait.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Oh, you can use Welles's bait.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
You can you can strap Wells to a chair and
say we've got Jeremy Wells.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Where's men have done it?
Speaker 1 (26:55):
This text that says being a check if a party
had a live band, a kig and a gate ramp,
that diff got me and my girlfriend's there as well. Okay, okay,
we'll hang on.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
That sounds more about you, I think, mate, But.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
We got here have a judas female on site TechEd
as a lure. It does help if at least one
of your friends has a girlfriend and she's going to
be there.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Oh yeah, well that's what my girlfriend Lauren, my love,
Your girlfriend Luren plays that role as people go, is
going to be there and they know that.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
It's kind of a situation that can be in as well.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
Yeah. The problem with your girlfriend Lauren being at parties
is sometimes that attracts more men to the party. Yeah
as well, Actually that will actually check track Jeremy well
to the party.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
So actually, and then the so you get Lauren, and
then you get Jerry, and then you get Mamoa and
then you get Mama coming in.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Okay, what about this one? Look controversial? But maybe if
we're being honest slightly accurate DJ that's open to requests.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Oh yeah, yeah, one thing, We'll get all the ladies
to a party mesh on the d floor with Billy
Ocean playing.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Oh I'm gonna have to fight some Billy Ocean up.
I mean, like, I've gotta be honest with you. I
don't know if that is going to attract the ladies to.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
A party.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I think including in the text or invite that you're
not a serial killer, and that should be a given.
I think that is a given when you start telling
people you're not a serial question killer. It's me thinks
he protests too much.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Having said that, though, if I'm dancing around the lounge
to the song, I can see why there might be
a mistake thinking that I am.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
A serial killer.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Yeah, this is another text from a woman that's a
chicken and egg situation. But to get girls to a party,
you need girls at the party. I love your work,
five stars. It's a little bit of a catch twenty tail,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Or came first the girl that's coming to the party
or the girl that's already at the party. So I
don't know, we've got to take it one step through
the back and make sure that we're getting that original
lady at the party.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
I don't understand this one. Two words nose, kay.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
You know there's quite a few of those votes through.
Is that similar to it's an one. Yeah, the name Candy,
that's a weird one.
Speaker 5 (29:01):
It's not just about, you know, being a responsible host
and providing food. It's not along those lines at all.
Speaker 12 (29:07):
Matty's Jeremy Wells The Maiden Cherry Show.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
It is seven point thirty one and here are you
Erodio Heraki headlines with the ruder Thanks Matt.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Another morning of medals for our Olympians and Paris. Finn
Butcher has one gold in the men's kayak cross.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Just as to navigate it safely, and the gold medal
is his. Finn Butcher is an Olympic champion, is an Olympic.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Champion born in the South. Geez, roll in his mouth.
Finn Butcher doing it for New Zealand and doing it
for the South. That's what I would to say.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
We'd probably start saying as a friend of the show,
and in the cycling the word actually actually reader, m
We've got.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
A text that said that he is a friend of
the show, and then that Finn Butcher listens, listens when
he's pumping term. All right, of course a few Olympians
that listen. Hayden Haiden listens, aid how do you go?
All right? They got alright, got silver mate, you got
a silver if you listen to someone else. That was
(30:13):
what I was.
Speaker 5 (30:15):
And in the cycling the women have one silver, narrowly
missing out on gold, and the team sprint only by
about half a second. Those metals take the countries tally
to nine. That's three gold, five silver, and a bronze,
and we're twelfth on the medal table.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Can you send them a text saying that we're the
boys having a few drinks to know if they want
to come around. I don't get them to our party.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
You know, I reckon, they have their own party.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Okay, over there, I reckon.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
Big news out of Denmark, scientists there have discovered the
ideal paper wed that inflicts a paper cut. Okay, data
or data has found paper that has a thickness of
only sixty five micrometers poses the greatest threat. Magazine paper
was a close second.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yeah, so you want you don't want anything to do
with sixty five micrometers. Then I hate a paper cut.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
That story is actually bit more interesting than I thought
was originally going to be. So what is sixty five
micrometas look like on a piece of paper? Soll I
go out into the office maybe, and later on in
the show, I'll bring back a sixty five micrometer a
piece of paper. You can'll analyze it, you can be
familiar with. They didn't know to stay away from it.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Moving forward, well, yeah, but no one wants to be
your paper cup guinea pig. And I understand the people
running the study found it really hard to find people
that wanted to be paper cut. To see which one
was the most cutty.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
You have to take a paper cut, let's say, whereabouts
on your body. If you had to take one, where
would you take it?
Speaker 1 (31:29):
The bees?
Speaker 3 (31:29):
No, it was too it was too quick. I go
the arm or something like that, and just in the
middle of a big piece of nothing that.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Not on the not on the tip of the twenty
fingers anywhere near the hands. Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, hate
a paper cut me controversial? Then that and Jerry Show
podcast Big News yesterday, Sean Johnson will wrap up his
NRL career the end of twenty twenty four. It will
bring an end to fourteen years in the competition for
(31:58):
the New Zealand Warriors halfback, where he represented the Warriors
and the Kronella Sharks. Johnson, who will turn thirty four
next month, informed his teammates of this division of his
decision yesterday before public announcing it to the public in
the evening.
Speaker 8 (32:11):
I just wanted to get a funny yesse and let
us know that later today I'm going to announcing my retirement.
It's yeah, it's probably a decision that I've sat with
for a long time now, but I'm still probably coming
to terms with so real it came just a ripping
for the rest of the year.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Enjoy it in every moment, seriously. Yeah, it all was
one on my face, you know, with you boys.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
What a good man. And one of Shawney Jay's biggest
fans joins us now on the phone from the Radiohurdacke
Big Show, Mike Minogue, what do you love about Shawnee
j Mogi.
Speaker 10 (32:46):
Well, there's many things that leaked to mind, isn't there.
There's there's a speed there's a step, there's a path
with the ability to identify a weakness the defensive line
to exploit it. But really it's comes down to one thing,
and that is how hot?
Speaker 4 (33:02):
How hot?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
So hot?
Speaker 1 (33:05):
A beautiful man? Why do you think he's packing in
because he's not playing very well?
Speaker 10 (33:12):
That's a big part of it. I mean, I was
I was having a chat to Shawney Jay and he
just said that coming back from the injury, it's time around.
It's just become too much. And he said he was
doing he was doing those shuttle runs trying to get
his fitness back up prior to coming back for the
last weekend's game, and he was saying, in his head,
I just can't keep doing this. I can't do this
(33:33):
for another year. So apparently it's been on his mind
all year. And when you're like that, you know, Matt,
when you're when you're when you're one of the elites,
when you're saying at the highest level, but at cricket, rugby, league, rugby, union,
whatever it is, when that boy starts creeping in, it's
time to pack it up, mate.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Yeah, where were you talking to him about that? Maggie?
Were you talking to about that?
Speaker 10 (33:52):
I was actually looking to his podcast.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Count still counts. Hey, Mogie, what's next for shawnee Jade?
You reckon well?
Speaker 10 (34:01):
Once the start of Sewan Johnson Rugby League Academy for
people that play rugby league? Good, Yeah, one of those.
He wants a little bit of training out that worries.
Imagine there'll be a closing line. I can see a
closing line. I think some men's skincare. It'd be a
mistake not to do that. Calendars. I think an annual
Shawn Johnson calendar where he just gets a year because
(34:23):
he's only thirty four. Imagine him at forty eight. He's
going to be wideing he corporu Hot So yeah, look,
he's not going to struggle for things to do. I
do want to say though, he has been just an
absolute magic and absolutely magic player. He's like Benji Marshall
in the sense that he could do things on the
field that nobody else could. And the thing that is
(34:46):
really gassing is that he's not going to well, look,
this could be this could be the fairy tale Matt
He's off the back of this. Once we win all
four of these games, off the back of the Sewan
Johnson and announcement, we go into the bye we're waiting
on the last game for the result. We sneak into
the eighth and then we stand piece towards the ground.
(35:09):
I mean, that's where I'm thinking. I'm not so I'm
not getting sad. I see this as an opportunity for
all of us, for all of us again and behind
Shawn Johnson and the Warriors and back us all the
way to the big one.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
So Shawney Jay living in the moment, playing with a smile,
his team getting behind him because it's his last season.
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
I mean, before we let you go, make sorry mate,
just what's going to happen then? For the wise, I
just have to know moving forward.
Speaker 10 (35:35):
What are we going to do for the season or
next year.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
I mean, for the rest of the season and into
next year, who's going to be replaced?
Speaker 10 (35:41):
I mean, we're going to get pumped in every single game, all.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Right, Okay, last words of love for the great man Mogi.
Speaker 10 (35:51):
I do just want to say, and like, what does
he care about what any of us think? But I'm
glad to have been born at a time where I
got to watch them. We've been very lucky that we
were in an era where we got to watch you know,
Michael Jordan and Benji Marshall and Tiger Woods. And I
think Shawn Johnson at his best was somebody that absolutely
had your leaping off your couts and screaming, and that's
(36:13):
what that's what sport is all about. He could do
things but nobody else could. And I'm just baffled that
he wasn't an Australian because normally they are.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Oh well, thoughts and prayers to you and your family
in this difficult time. Love you, Mogi. Then Matt and
Jerry Show podcast, We're looking for New Zealand's Greatest Route
with a Panhead pick up Hazy ip A. There's nothing
like a pickup truck when you want to just pick
up and go. So when Panhead asked us to find
New Zealand's greatest route to celebrate there pick up hazy
(36:43):
I PA, we said, yes, with your help, we're going
to decide once and for all, what is New Zealand's
greatest route? That's r O U T E, not ro
O O T all right, Grant Meshy.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
No, no, hey, look I'm not with the play O
get what's going on here? I got a text last
night about this, because we kept this off yesterday. Obviously
this is well. I'm having a great time with there's
so many people messaging in their favorite routes. But I
got a text from my father last night. Okay, Gordon Ketty,
you need had a lot to say about this.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
I love Gordy.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
He's got some concerns around State Highway six.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
And it's obviously quite a big state highway.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
If you're not familiar with State Highway six.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
It runs all the way from in Viicargo via Queenstown,
up past the half Pass, through Graymouth, up coast and
then all the way up through Nelson and then into Blenham.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
That's a huge.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
Now, in what world can we count that? Is that
one route?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Is that too long? It feels too long, yeah, because
I mean there's so much in there. It would be
hard to Nichol and Diamond in terms of everything you
can see. I mean you're going to get a bit
of glacial action on the way out there.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
You've got it all in there, You've got beautiful views
of the lake. Yeah, and then that's only working your
way up the bottom third. And then by the time
you get up the coast and beautiful gravel beaches. You
know you got up the coast there.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
I feel that's greedy. I mean that's the whole length
of the South Island. Well that's what Gordon Keeddy was
worried about.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Greed.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
Do you know what I'm finding very interesting about this
chat about this particular route as you're talking about it
from south to north. But when I look at the map,
I think north to south.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
I'm born in the South Chieth rolling money.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
No, I'm thinking start at Blendham and then you go
down Voicago.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
It will be a nice way to do it. Start
in the orchard country up there and then work your
way down all the way down.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
Down through the Mouth.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
This Texas has can't beat the coast road Graymouth to
Berlin's Bull of Goods.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yes, I have heard about that route.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
You got the State Highway thirty benny Dale to poep
We the place that time forgot.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
I'm not familiar with that with that journey I only
recently drove for the first time.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Fellers. Is it the what is the road? The Desert road,
the old Dissert Road.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Oh wow, yeah, I've never done that drive into Aukland before.
Very the end of the movie seven. It was very
the end of the movie seven. I was expecting to
look out of my right window and see Brad Pitt
the whole hair gun towards a box.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Or you see Kevin Spacey in the back seat of
your car in the mirror filling giving you, giving you
shit exactly.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
So, of course you can keep those votes coming through
on three four eight three if you can reach out
by by hundred hardek you can always in this talkback.
By the talkback, he said, you'll be doing that for
the next couple weeks, won't we.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Yeah, that's right. It's New Zealand's greatest route with panhead
pickup Hazy IPA, The Matt.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
And Jerry Show Podcast, The Matt and Jerry Show Podcast, Rude.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Yeah. And it's all thanks to Bunning Stray. Bunning Strad
is always ready to help. Just call one hundred and
one three four eight seven to two and I'm very
pleased to welcome to the Matt and Jerry Show atout Jerry.
Friend of the show, Tom Sainsbury, good morning.
Speaker 7 (39:47):
Listen to that studio audience giving you some works. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (39:51):

of day. Did you you're in because task Master season
five starting tonight, it's seven thirty pm. You'll one of
the contestants. You can watch it on TV and Z
two and TV and Z Plus. We'll get to that
in a bit. And we've got five hundred dollars to
give away. Yeah, and that's Taskmaster Challenge should But you're
(40:13):
not in here as an interview e. No, you're co
hosting the show for the next hour. Okay, okay, got
precious on. Please be impressive. Well, I want to start
with your thoughts on this gold medal for Finn Butcher.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Just has to navigate it safely and the gold medal
is his Finn Butcher is and a loud pack Chad period.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
Do you think there's enough energy in that?
Speaker 7 (40:39):
Yeah, plenty of energy and wonderful information being communicated to.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
And a loud pick chap pod.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Good on your phone. Butcher born in the South, cheese
roll in his mouth, okay, Tom Sainsbury. Every Tuesday on
the show, we look for the four Pillars segment on
the Matta Jury Show where we find the four quintessential
items relating to a certain group or category. And since
the Prime Minister Chris luxon his city wants to add
more women to the National Party. Today, we're looking for
(41:08):
the four pillars of getting females to a party. You
can vote on our eight hundred herdecke your text three
for it three or send us a took back on
the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (41:16):
Then Matt and Jerry Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Today we are joined by Tom Sainsbury celebration of season
five of Taskmaster.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
Amay, Yeah, that's right at starting seven pm tonight on
TV and Z two and TV and Z Plus. And
get this, there's a second episode on Wednesday, so Tuesdays
and means days and later. Tom's brought in five hundred
bucks to give away for someone that can complete a task.
Hey Tom, yes, you're co hosting the show today, so
you're going to be embroiled. In this segment we do
(41:43):
the four pillars where we find the four quintessential items
relating to a certain group of category. Today we're looking
for the four pillars of getting females to a party.
I've been to one of your live shows and I've
got to say you don't struggle to get females to
your life show.
Speaker 7 (41:58):
No, you're right in that case, for us to take
that is.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (42:01):
So my ticket demographic would be women age forty five
to sixty five, And if I was to lure them
to a party, I would say wine of some description
and cats.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Wine and cats.
Speaker 7 (42:10):
Yeah, though lots. I always go, hey, who loves cats?
Most of them do, but sometimes they come up to
have to do this and go I hate cats. Yeah right,
it's just wine is wine is the thing.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
Yeah, so cats is a bit risky. You'll get some,
but you'll lose others.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Yeah. So if I send a text out, hey, having
a party tonight, We've got four casks of red ye,
a cask of white, and three cats.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
And three cats cats are in a separate bedroom.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Yeah right, Well that's interesally because I'm getting at a
text through someone says jelly shots.
Speaker 7 (42:44):
See I saw. I think these are pretty clever iced coffee.
Yeah yeah. Also, just I mean this isn't an object.
But the last party I went to there was female heavy.
Most of the discussion was life hacks, so like how
to do your washing better, to exercise better, Like they're
all about sharing hacked. So I'm like, if you can
(43:05):
put on the poster, we'll be discussing life hacks.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
The most parties I go to make my life much worse,
not these ones. So something positive. Someone says, call it
a branch and have some emoses around and you'll have
me there.
Speaker 7 (43:21):
Someone says, promise a magic Mike viewing? Yes, amen, amen?
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Not not the sequel though, rubbish. I haven't seen the sequel.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Is it not good?
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Not good? With the first movie? Is high quality?
Speaker 7 (43:33):
I haven't seen the sequel.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
Yeah, yeah, A cleanish toilet? Yeah, I mean I think
you know that is a problem. And because because we
were saying before that it's polite for men to use
the hedge at a party as opposed to blocking up
the toilet because women have more to do in there. Also,
as someone texted, would kill you guys to buy some
(43:56):
half decent quality TP.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
The toilet paper is an issue toime have you come
into when hosting parties before, Like a lack of toilet paper?
Speaker 10 (44:03):
Cool?
Speaker 7 (44:04):
I've once had a lack of toilet paper. And then
it's a case of using the quickly kitchen towel you
know what a called handy towels. But I haven't had
complaints about the quality. So is it just too few apply?
Speaker 3 (44:17):
I think that's what people are getting at people are
upset about. Also, a lot of it's coming through for
a tuple weir party. That took me back. So a
lot of people tixing through the idea of a tuple
wear party year that used to be they used to
play with parties. Sometime we're tup of weir parties. Code
code because Jeremy Wells.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Has got a saying because his partner, she has a
lot of book clubs, and he says of a book
club ends up in a nightclub. It was never a
book club to start with.
Speaker 7 (44:41):
Yeah, so I was because you're dubious about the top.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Yeah, I think that's sort of a lot of Freemason's
kind of situation.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
The Matt and Jerry Show podcast had you The Mat
and Jerry Show without Jeremy Wells this morning, Yeah, we've.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Got Tom Sainsbury and steared because Taskmas the season five
kicks off tonight at seven thirty on TV and Z
two and TV and Z plus. Tom Sainsbury, how did
you Gough?
Speaker 7 (45:06):
I was you think you're so when you're Because they
film all the tasks kind of beforehand and then obviously
in the studio watching them back and when I was
doing the task I was, I would go, I would
finish the task and be smug about how clever I was,
and then you watch it on the big screen, going,
I'm so obvious and so boring, especially up against these
other competitors, like being tough toughing is so hilarious and
(45:30):
so good, and Abbie House is so kind of off
the wall with her choices.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
I loved it.
Speaker 7 (45:36):
The only thing I was kind of proud of is
that sometimes I would get the more kind of brain
you know, brain scratching puzzles. I was kind of like,
that's where I.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
Shone, ah, right, when you're to solve something.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
Yeah, Because there's different types, isn't there. Because there's the
ones that are quantifiable, you know, a number of you know,
you get a number a time to do it, yeah,
and you get the other ones, which you have to
be incredibly creative.
Speaker 6 (45:59):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
And I found out when I was on the show,
because Jeremy Wells was the task master still is that
there's actually a stat where when it was quantifiable, he
gave me basically the lowest score every time, but when
it was objective, you know, when he couldn't vote me down,
I did okay.
Speaker 7 (46:16):
Do you think because you guys are pals that he
kind of felt more okay giving you the low scores
he was sacrificial.
Speaker 4 (46:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
Yeah, yeah, well that's what I'm sort of saying. Yeah,
I also did cock up a lot of the objective.
How did you go in that?
Speaker 8 (46:28):
Like?
Speaker 7 (46:29):
Did you what placing?
Speaker 4 (46:31):
Did you get?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
I won season two? Yeah? Well I kind of won.
Speaker 4 (46:36):
I kind of came.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Forth, you know, but I kind of in a way,
and in a way it was a personal bist for me. No. So,
so as the show comes out and the first episode
comes out tonight, are you apprehensive about it? Do you
feel it? Feeling good about it? You're looking forward to it?
Speaker 7 (46:55):
I am that's a really cool question. I think I'm
feeling apprehensive to be honest, Okay, hell will I come across?
But also like also decisions like why am I wearing
those clothes? Like I went for to kind of TIMI
chic from Jurassic Park nineteen ninety three. I was like
I was inspired by that. I was like, why why
(47:15):
did you make those decisions? But anyway, you make decisions
and you just live with them.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Yeah, that's the thing you have to because the because
what you decide to wear, you have to wear for
the whole for the entirety of the whole freaking thing,
and then on the set it's not on the set,
you don't know different uniforms. Actually interesting, when I did
task Master, it's not about me, but it was what
I wore on the set worried me more because you know,
sometimes you let people dress you and then you walk
(47:39):
on and you go, this is why why did I
do this?
Speaker 10 (47:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Why would I? I wouldn't ever wear this in public because
it's far too fesetable for me. You know.
Speaker 7 (47:47):
Also on like on the when I was doing the tasks,
I because we do a lot of stuff outside, I
was like, I probably did hat for this, But the
problem is I've got the biggest head. I've met one
person of the same size here, but no one else has.
I've never met anyone with a bigger head, and I
chose to wear a cap, so the cap was often
falling off, mate, because they just couldn't cup the big
brain skull letters my head.
Speaker 1 (48:07):
And people don't take those things into account, you know,
when you're competing in a you know, a fierce competition
like that, so they don't take an account that you've
got a head that's too big exactly to perform the tasks.
All right, Tom Sainsbury, you're with us through till nine
and coming up after the news Actually actually you're going
to be reading the news headlines, but that's not next.
(48:28):
This is a huge thing. You've read the news headlines
and you'll be giving five hundred dollars away before a
nine o'clock or so. We've got the four pillars of
how to get We'll pull into your party Matt.
Speaker 12 (48:38):
Heath, Jeremy Wells, the Maiden Cherry Show.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
It's a thirty time for your radio Herdaki news headlines
with Taskmaster five's Tom Sainsbury.
Speaker 7 (48:48):
Think you matte? Okay? Two more medals this morning for
our Kiwi Olympians. Finn Butcher overcome the odds to win
gold in the men's kayak crop men's kayak Cross.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
To navigate it safely and the gold medal is his
Finn Butcher is ana lumppack champolumppack jam beer.
Speaker 7 (49:12):
Congratulations from that is incredible. I couldn't do it okay.
And in the Valodrome, the women's cycling team won silver
in sprint, narrowly missing out on gold to Great Britain.
Now this blows my mind. The BRIT's won by just
zero point four seven three seconds.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
That's pretty close. Not as close as the one hundred
meters memes that was down to a thousand for a second.
Speaker 7 (49:34):
That tech A US judge is found that Google has
acted illegally to keep its monopoly on online searches. The
tech giant was sued by the US Department of Justice
for its control of ninety percent of the online search market.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
I want to sue team because whenever I lock anything
up now it just goes and I'm never going to
buy anything from t MO. So this's twenty five te
TMU things before find something that I can actually buy.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
Can I be a witness on that? In that court case?
Speaker 4 (49:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (50:00):
A joint what do they call it? A a combined lawsuit.
There's a word for it.
Speaker 4 (50:06):
You're looking at me like I know.
Speaker 7 (50:07):
The exactly the word vaguely, I don't know, Like we're
both sewing together.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Do you mean? Yeah? And you get a multiple multiple
plate a class action? Very good, right there, we go. Okay,
it's never going to get that.
Speaker 7 (50:19):
And triathletes Hayden Wilde and Ainsley Thorpe have revealed that
they suffered illness after their individual races. That coincides with
the water quality of the river sin being the source
of a high level of ecolo for the swim leg
of the triathlon.
Speaker 1 (50:33):
The sin being discussed and played out exactly as everybody
predict throw two point four billion at an impossible problem.
Speaker 6 (50:42):
The Matt and Jerry Show.
Speaker 13 (50:43):
Podcast Time for Taskmaster ends It's big Tuesday and Wednesday

Your task Master viewer. Hi, Andrea, are you a task
Masters task Master viewer?
Speaker 5 (51:27):

Speaker 1 (51:28):

Speaker 10 (51:29):
Excited about tonight?
Speaker 1 (51:30):
Yeah, it's a good lineup this year. So you're about
to play our task Master challenge. Every morning Jerry will
set you a task. We'll set someone a task. This morning,
it's you, Andrea, and if you complete the task, you
will win yourself five hundred dollars. Is a slight change
this morning in the task Jeremy who's away. He'll say
(51:50):
that Matt is going to be performing the task with you,
but it'll actually be Tom Sainsbury. Okay, okay, yeah, Are
you ready, Andrea?
Speaker 10 (51:58):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (51:58):
I am, Okay, Andrea, let's do it.
Speaker 14 (52:01):
All the information you need is in the task. Your
time starts once you've completed hearing the task. Your task
today is to refrain from saying yes or no through
thirty seconds of Matt Heath questioning.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
You okay, stop the tlimmer. Okay, So refrain from saying
yes or no yes, thirty seconds of Tom Sainsbury and Andrea.
Your time starts.
Speaker 7 (52:27):
Now, Andrea. Do you have any hidden talents?
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Sometimes?
Speaker 7 (52:34):
Do you have any pets?
Speaker 10 (52:36):
Possibly?
Speaker 7 (52:40):
What's the opposite of yes?
Speaker 10 (52:43):
I'm not sure?
Speaker 7 (52:46):
Can you play the musical instrument?
Speaker 12 (52:50):
Never?
Speaker 7 (52:50):
Oh my god, she's good, she's good. Does a ticking
clock stress you out?
Speaker 1 (53:00):
You've done it five hundred dollars. Andrea, that was tense.
Congratulations you keep you cool. Yeah, yeah, very well done. Yes,
well done to you. Tasma's insid is back and starts
tonight Tuesdays and Wednesdays going forward for the next five
weeks seven thirty pm on TV and Z two and
TV in Z plus.
Speaker 6 (53:21):
The Matt and Jerry Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
Hey, Tom Sainsley sent this this morning, And as we
do every Tuesday, we look for the four Pillars segment
on the Matt and Jerry Show, where we find the
four contessential items relating to a certain group or category.
And since the Prime Minister Chris Luckson has said he
wants to add more woman to the National Party, today
we're looking for the four pillars of getting females to
a party and there's been furious voting on it. I
(53:45):
feel like we should get you to read these out,
Tom Sainsbury, Are are they in front of you to
read out?
Speaker 7 (53:50):
I can see everything except for the.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Things okay hanging on? What if I bowled them massively? Okay, here,
we're going to put those in bold. You're in the
right place.
Speaker 7 (54:00):
Here we go, There we go, There we go.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
They're huge. Now, yes, okay, so there'll be.
Speaker 7 (54:07):
A here we go away, we get drums, go for it. Okay.
The four winners are a DJ that plays requests toilet
DP of some description of multiple plies, several women already there.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
I think that's so. I think if you want women
to come to your party, it can't just be twenty
five dudes sitting around playing video games.
Speaker 7 (54:36):
And this one basically would it kill you to just
put a little bit of effort in for once? I
think that's the general fame of all efforts.
Speaker 1 (54:46):
So there are your four pillars for getting women to
your party. Of a DJ that plays requests TP, several
women already being there, and would it kill you to
put just a little bit of effort in just once. Now.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
The reason why we were looking for these is because
National Party leader Christopher Luxon, also known as the current
promen I, was looking for ways to attract woman to
his party. Do you think, gentlemen, that a DJ that
plays request is going to help them in any way
shape or for.
Speaker 1 (55:06):
Yeah, I mean at what point later at the polling
booth at yes, I mean yeah.
Speaker 4 (55:13):
What about toilet?
Speaker 1 (55:13):
About if I could go in and a request all
I want to do is make love to you by
heart while I'm voting. Then that would really sway which
way I go.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
If the toilet paper goes without saying everyone needs some
thickly toilet paper exactly. Yeah, and they're moving on to
several women already being there, I suppose it stands as well.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
And I think that really stands.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Yeah, and would it kill you put just a little
bit of evident and just for one year, that probably
stands as well.
Speaker 4 (55:34):
It does?
Speaker 1 (55:35):
All right?
Speaker 6 (55:36):
Then then Matt and Jerry Show podcast, and that brings.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
Us the end of the show. Tom Sainsbury, thank you
so much for coming in.
Speaker 7 (55:42):
Oh pleasure?
Speaker 1 (55:43):
Okay, yeah. Task Master Season five starts tonight at Tuesday
on TV and Z two starts tonight at seven thirty pm,
not at Tuesday on TVNZ two and TV and Z plus.
Who else is on the show with you?
Speaker 7 (55:58):
Don Hale, sprow Tall for Abbie Howe's Binholey.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
Oh great, great cast. And there's a few I don't
know if I'm allowed to say this, but there's a
few of callback people that appear on certain episodes.
Speaker 7 (56:13):
Okay, all right, I guess who?
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Can you guess who might make an appearance, all right
for a couple of episodes here and there. Oh well,
good luck tonight. Looking forward to watching the show. It's
a great show, Tom, You and the Met and Jerry podcasts.
The bit Spoke podcast is out at eleven am today
featuring Chuck Henwood, author of Unmasking Monsters. How the Hunt
for New Zealand's Worst Criminals change policing forever. All right,
(56:38):
so it's going to be a serious one, MESHI so
behave yourself on that.
Speaker 4 (56:41):
I'll step out of the room.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
