The men's four of Logan Erlich and Tom Murray, Matt
MacDonald and Ollie McLain also did us proud?

Speaker 7 (02:57):
Can they run down the US like they get? Going
to be just beyond them?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Silver?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
New Zealand Sober and their female counterparts Jackie Gower, Kerry Williams,
Divina Woody and Phoebe Spores, sister of Lucy. So family
hasn't been this bigger night for the Spores since the
Last of Us premiered on Amazon Prime.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
There's a Spores joking there about the scene as well.
I can't figure that out. Just give me a second
and I'll come anyway.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Listen to this.

Speaker 7 (03:31):
The Netherlands, Great Britain and New Zealand Bronze Middle.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Brons completing the set in the rowing in single scollers
Emma twig Twiggy and Tom McIntosh eased into their into
their respective finals. Race officials continue to hunt for wind
at Messiah after the abandonment of a men's skiff sailing
final until tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
But in the pool, the woman's four x two hundred

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Speaking of Kiwi, it's Johnny too good?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
And shed hedache the Matt.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
And Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
What a tune to start the day with, says this
texture on three for eight three.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
We love all your feedback.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
You can get hold of us on three three hundred
hockey or the talkback function on your iHeartRadio app and
between now in seven am it's you send it and
will play it Friday. I mean, maybe you want to
just send some some love to the y. It's good
call to the Olympians, you know, that'd be really nice.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
Actually, I think if you hit that microphone button on
your heart radio this morning and just send some love
and that'd.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Be lovely you just if you just wanted to go
God for that keyway.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Can I just just clarify a Masha, you said to
send some loven?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Did you say send some love in or send some loven?
Like you want people to record themselves?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
That fine either either?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh no, what have we done? We'll plant, we'll plan.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Just like we get the medals tally chart, we're at eleven,
just behind the Netherlands because we've got five medals. Now
we've got two gold, two silver, and one bronze, but
clearly number one on the per capital.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I was going to ask, so how are we looking
on the per capita?

Speaker 4 (05:42):
China's number one with a total of twenty two medals
eleven gold. But they've got they've got a couple more
people than us.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Is it the People's Republic of China?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
Yeah, with the one point five billion people, we've just
got the five just under five.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Actually we just dipped back under five.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
New Zealand we're going backwards, but in population going forward
and me so France two, Japan three, Australia, then the
United States and the United States not not really having
a great Olympic so far, Great Britain, South Korea, Italy,
Canada and Germany, then the Netherlands and then little old
New Zealand just ahead of Romania.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Would you say, Maddy, that we're punching above our weight
at the moment at the Olympics. I would say we
are the little mouse that rules.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Man Mattie Jeremy Wells the Leaden Cherry Show.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
It's six thirty two am on a Friday morning, and
here are you a radio heddacking news headlines with Ruda.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Thanks Maddie.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
A threesome of Olympic medals for New Zealand overnight, all
in the rowing.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Woo sitting down, going backwards.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Our medal tally is now up to five. The women's
cox list four have one bronze, the men's coxlest four
grabbed silver, and in the women's double skulls Brook Francis
and Luzy Spores have won gold.

Speaker 8 (06:51):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
So New Zealand now up to eleventh equal on the
medal table with two gold, two silver and a bronze.
China leads with eleven gold medals, but everyone knows it's
the per capita table accounts and the kiwis we're number
one so far ahead.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
TV and Z says it needs to find thirty million
dollars in savings. It's seeking ideas from staff to either
spend less or generate more revenue, and that could mean
more job or show cuts.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Where do you find thirty million dollars?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Is there anyone we know?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
And maybe they could just kind of you know, yeah,
is there anyone they could cut that?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
We can think that that.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Like say, for example, like for example, on the show today,
we don't have Jeremy Wells and it seems to be
going fine, So is there anyone they could cut? At
TVNZ just looking around? Actually, Jerry's so elitist that they
could probably find thirty million down the couch on seven sharp,
just in money that falls out of his.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Pants down his couch out home.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Scrooge mcdoway, it's actually tragic if people lose their jobs,
so stop laughing.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Oh sorry, and right. The biggest prisoner swap since the
Cold War is underway. Russia is releasing sixteen prisoners from
Western countries in exchange for eight Russian nationals currently held
by other nations.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Wow, that sounds like the Western nations have won that
deal sixteen to eight, haven't they?

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Then that and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Time for the Wonderful World of Swimming in the Filthy
Old Sin.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
After spend two point five billion on cleaning up the
polluted river Sin. France had hoped to avoid controversy at
this year's Olympic Games. Even before the games kicked off,
locals were threatening to take a dump in the river
as a demonstration to the funds being spent on. I
mean two point five billion dollars, it's a lot, all
while sharing a hashtag that translates to as i as

(08:39):
ipooh in the Sin.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Oh God, that's glassy from the French.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
So they're not too happy about the Olympics being there,
So you know what, let's get everyone to get there.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Two point five billion is a lot of money. And
then there was one point four billion spent on the
ceremony as well. Then the Means triathlon was postponed by
a day due to health reason. When it finally kicked
off on Wednesday night, Our Team, Our Time, Canada's Tyler
Mussel of Chuck twenty nine vomited in the river. After

(09:13):
the race, he said, I didn't come here to come
top teen, but I gave it everything I had.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I went for it. I have no regrets. Vomited ten
times A French Canadian.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Yeah, French Canadian. Yeah, yeah, I know what. I sort
of started extent. I don't know where I was going there,
so I just.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Was French Canadian.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I reckon, Yeah, indistinct accent. That's good.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Meanwhile, Belgian woman's triathlete Joline Vimelin, who competed in this
year's race, has shared her.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Grim experience with swimming in the river.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
I drank a lot of water, so we'll know tomorrow
if I'm sick or not. I tell you it doesn't
taste like Coca cola or sprite. Of course, while swimming
under the bridge, I felt and saw things that we
shouldn't shink about too much. So sin has been dirty
for one hundred years, so I say, can't say that
the safety of there is a priority.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
So's bs Yeah, I mean she said she saw things
under the water that's concerning and felt them because there's
been there'd be so many bodies, yeah, so much stuff
in the sin.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yeah, I mean, how.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Do you even start to clean up? Something like that.
I suppose that's saying it.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Was the Elgi or whatever the sport like fact bacteria
was an issue in the sin. I think you've got
to be if we're being honest, it just must be
so much shit in there that just gets heft in
there from the locals and Paris or people passing by
the sin, Like you're saying there'll be bodies in there
from you know, it's such a big city, so many
things go on over night and stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
It's grim.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yeah, I mean it's great that they're trying to clean
it up, but two point five billion dollars a lot
of money?

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Will Triathlon see it?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
In a statement that they believe to have undergone appropriate
measures to ensure athletes safety, is it here to all right?

Speaker 1 (10:57):
After the canceled first day, they said.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Parish twenty twenty four and your world trithle On reiterate
that the priority is the health of the athletes.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
The tests carried out in.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
The same today revealed water quality levels that did not
provide sufficient guarantees to allow the event to be held. Unfortunately,
events beyond our control satches rain which fell over Paris
on the twenty sevenths of dry can't alter water quality
and compel us to reschedule.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
There you go a bit defensive from the world Trothleon.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah, it's definitely look gross and green. Or when our
boy Hayden Wild.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Was in there.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
Then Matt and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Yes, you send that world play it Friday, and we
reached out and asked for some love for the gold
that's been raining on Paris for Kiwis overnight in the rowing.
So what have we got there, MESHI so.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Much bloody national pride right now? A lot of gold
last night.

Speaker 9 (11:57):
Those two girls, good.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
On them, beautiful straight up and down.

Speaker 9 (12:03):
All right?

Speaker 2 (12:03):
What else have we got if we can crank another
one up here? Sorry? Oh no, sorry, my buttons aren't
working there. You just figure this out, all right?

Speaker 10 (12:11):
You got in just a shout out to all the
athletes that have won those beautiful medals gold, gold, gold,
and to the athletes that didn't that tickle of gold
in their heart of hope.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Fantastic. Keep it up, New Zealand like that is.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
That's beautiful messages. I'm welling up.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
My heart's about to explode with pride listening to this.
Have we've got any other loving for the Olympic golds.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, we've got one more here for you, Maddy, this wiarticular.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yes, that's some real love, right, there's some real lover.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
So Kiwi's across the nation feeling so proud waking up
to a gold, silver, and a bronze in the rowing.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Up next on three for three.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
We've been set a challenge around the Olympics. I don't
think so, and I want to put it to you
after the song by Lincoln Part and see what you
feel about it.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Because it's controversial.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Can I get an early vote in for no?

Speaker 1 (13:13):
You want to know on this.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I just want to put it in early for this one.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
I want to put a ye in early.

Speaker 9 (13:17):
You ruder.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Part of me says no, but part of me says yes.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Okay, Well we'll put that suggestion to you next and
you can have a vote on three for eighty three
or wait undred hard act there The Matt.

Speaker 6 (13:32):
And Jerry Show podcast Friday morning.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
You're listening to The Matt and Jerry Show with about Jerry.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Today, we got this communicate in the Conclave, the Matt
and Jerry discussion group on Facebook.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Would it kill you to play some Clarence.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Carter stroke and soundbites on the FM broadcast tomorrow to
celebrate our rowing hat trap, Oh my God and look
great song Clarence Carter Stricken but not not often played
in the Hurdarky playlist.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Not in its entirety.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
I don't if it fits into too the remit. So
I'd like to get your thoughts on this. Three four
eight three, have a vote if we play that? Gonna
play it after after seven in its entirety? What would
it sound like mash if we did that and we
sort of added a little bit of a spice to it.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Okay, so this is stroking here, and then we could
do this.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Maybe that's nice.

Speaker 7 (14:20):
Busy spores Brook Francis shout to the line, this job.

Speaker 11 (14:34):
Can they run down the US? I think it's gonna
be just so far New Zealand stroke stroke wor it's
not bad?

Speaker 1 (14:48):
You say, three four eight three? Can we want that
played in its entirety to cele break can? I say?

Speaker 3 (14:55):
A few minutes ago, I was on the fence about that,
and I am firmly in the camp of use.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
Now well I'm gonna full one on that as well.
I think that fantastic stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
You've got to ask yourself.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Would Brook Francis and Lucy Spores who won double and
the skulls gold.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Would they like it? Yes, Spores, Brook Francis, down to
the line.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
That's jol the Lins Coxlus four who won silver and
the women's Coxles four who won runs.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Would they like it?

Speaker 7 (15:20):
Be Nevlands, Great Britain and New Zealand Bronze middle.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
All right, give us give us about three for three
if you want to hear a fully edited version of
that played out.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
And it's entirely by the end of the show.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Yeap, and don't don'tnuts any phone calls from our Australian
content director Plexie Campbell.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
All right, all right, you show after seven on the Mat.

Speaker 12 (15:44):
And Jerry Show, the Matt and Jerry Show podcast, the
Mart and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
And it's Jerry on the Rediodocky.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Bred the Show, Mac Dad, It's Jerry on.

Speaker 12 (16:03):
The radio radio Racky Brad the Show.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Good morning everyone, it's all thanks to Bunning straight get
your indoor projects sordered with a huge rain we were
big Welcome to those listening on the Radio Highlights podcast.
Hey yeah, Gold, Brook Francis and Lucy Spores when double
skulls Skulls Gold, Men's Cots US four when Silver Women's
Cots was four, when bronze and we've been looking at

(16:30):
a unique way to celebrate it. It was suggested on the
conclave I met in Jerry Facebook discussion.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Group and we're sort of putting it together.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
There's going a lot lot of cap back from management
on us playing Clarence Carter Strokin to celebrate the win
by Brooke Fraser and Lucy Spores.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
This is what it would sound like, basically.

Speaker 7 (16:54):
Lucy Spores, Brook Francs down to the line.

Speaker 11 (16:57):
This child Neetiles and New Zealan bronze medal? Can they
run down the UIs think it's going to be just
beyond them so far New Zealand.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
So I feel like it's a pretty good TRIVIU. That's
a great trivia.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
It does get problematic, I will admit that.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
I think about halfway through there's a lot of questions
about you've made love. I get that gets a little
bit confusing around rowing, but.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Have you done it on the couch? Have you done
it in the car? That kind of thing, and you
can't really row on the couch or in a car.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Ken, But we do appreciate stroking on the couch and
there would have been people appreciating the stroking at the
Olympics while driving.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
So what's the plan then?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Obviously Ruda is out there constructing a full version of
that song. There the entire Clarence Carter stroking with a
little bit of Olympic gold or Olympic medal success in
there as well. So we're going to look to play
that by the end of the show today, is it?

Speaker 11 (17:54):
Well?

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yeah, We're going to try and build up some support
from listeners on three OK three you the talkback function
on your iHeart and try and get it across the
line because there's a lot of pushback from management at
the moment. There's a stroken by Clarence Carter. Isn't really
the kind of song we play on Radio Hurd.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Again, No, it's not.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
Then Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
So the Warriors going to tonight's NRL clash with the Eels,
knowing that they must win at least four out of
their last five games to have a chance to make
the Top eight playoffs. One man that still backs them
to be playing finals foot in September. It's former Warrior,
former Melbourne Storm players Sky Sports commentator Adam Blair, Adam,
we've had a lot of must win games in a row.

(18:34):
We've won some of them and lost some of them.
So Adam tonight, yes or no? Is this a must
win game?

Speaker 13 (18:40):
Good morning guys. Yeah, no, definitely. Yeah, there's been a
few must win games over the last few weeks, in
some games that they should have won, specially the I
guess the Bulldogs canber Raiders, but again from now on
and they can't drop a game, and they can't afford
to drop a game just because of how type of
competition is in you know, especially the ninth to twelve

(19:01):
position where the Warrior is set on twelfth in twelfth
position that there are some tough four battles through the
middle path there. So I must win tonight. But I
do think they'll get a job done against the pram
matter Eels, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Hey morning, Adam, thanks for joining us so early in
the morning. Mate.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Hey, so when it comes I feel like the controversy
at the moment when it comes to the wises around
the team the lineup. Have you got any insight into
who'll be starting tonight?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (19:25):
The team this will be pretty similar to last week,
but the inclusion of Chance will be back out there.
I think so Chans is back from injury, and I
think those boys that held their own last week, I
guess that that center position. You know, Molas Graham, telf
and Ali La a couple of young guys that are
on the rise, and I think, you know they deserve

(19:46):
to stay in that middle of the center position. So
you know, when when I look at the Warrior's teams,
even over the past month or so, every player that's
got on on the god on the pitch can get
a job done. They just haven't been able to click
and play for the eighty minutes. There's some quality players,
but the middle forward pack hasn't changed too much. And

(20:07):
again when you look at an NRL or NRL side
and the games and where it's one, it's one for
the middle of the park because the guys like Chanel
or to Mighty or Seawan Johnson can't do their work
for the out adance like Dellan and Roger and Chance
to score points if they aren't going through the middle
of the park. So they they have they've put a
competitive side. It's into an international forward pack up against

(20:30):
a team that's struggling. But if you allow them to
like last week, and we're similar to last week, and
you've seen Tigers come back into the game. If you
allow the teams down the bottom playing football, they'll get
themselves into trouble. So important for the Warriors to come
out of the bloxy and blow that. He was off
the park at home another sold out game. And it's
been awesome this year for the Warriors.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah, and Blair are speaking on that, an entire sold
out season at Mount Smart. What is that kind of
unconditional sport support for the Wires mean for them going forward?

Speaker 13 (21:00):
Yeah, unbelievable. I think, you know, even you look at
the Vegas trip, you know, sixteen minutes they said that
it was sold out. And so the unwavering support that
they've been able to have from the fans for the
last I guess eighteen months or last year on the
back of what they've been able to create, it create
especially when you become a Warriors fan. And I feel

(21:21):
it more now being on the outside. Is that you know,
you ride those roller coasters and I feel it now
when you're sitting on the edge of your seat and
you know if the Warriors are going to win or lose,
but they turn up with their flags, their signs, the kids,
you know, everyone outside of rugby league they're supporting the
Warriors and the atmosphere is awesome. So to be able to,

(21:42):
I guess run out on a field and the sold
out state of only help but only just gives you
that little bit more motivation when you have in the
field that you want to just give something back to
the people that have turned up through the thicken thing.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Oh well, good on, dam thank you for joining us
so early in the morning, mate, And of course you
can watch the Warriors versus Eels live on Skyspoel one
and stream on Skotsport now from seven thirty tonight. Sky
Open will also have Freddie ed delaid coverage two pm
on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Warrior's playing a dollar twenty two. Oh yeahs paying four
twenty five on hitting out there tonight.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Excited.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
I think you're in a corporate box with my girlfriend.
Actually I'm a bit worried about that.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
I know you're very excited about tonight.

Speaker 6 (22:19):
Then Matt and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
So to celebrate the fantastic Middle Tally in the Olympics
and Brook Francis and Lucy Spores winning the double skulls goal,
the men's COXLUS four winning silver and the women's COXLUS
four winning bronze. Last night we have floated the idea
of playing stroken by Clarence Carter to celebrate the rowing,

(22:46):
and we've been asking you to vote on three four
eighty three and currently this Wigan played after eight, if
it goes across current one hundred and thirty three against
playing stroking to these people that don't love their country.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Right, I have to be honest. There's quite a few
against Eulie DAWs and that consuns me.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
People that do not love their country and don't want
to celebrate other Brock Francis or Lucy sports. Is there
four hundred, one hundred and twenty five Patriots four playing
stroking after eight to celebrate the gold, silver and bronze?

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Can I ask you a question though, one of these
texts that's come through on three four eight three from
number eightning seven three eight, they said three thumbs up
for playing stroking if they counted as one vote or three,
that's a good point actually to increase that because I
saw I also think Pixie Campbell out Australian content director, is.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
He's writing the text machine, He's writing.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
Text betwene Hard as well, So I'm also I can
also guarantee how many of those negative votes for not
playing Stroking to celebrate the woman's well actually right across
the board the rowing medals last night. So I think
we're gonna have to figure out if one vote per person.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Yeah, that's right, Okay, I've the six here on three
for three number ending eight nine. I just switched to
bluetooth during the air break just to listen to Stroke
and really got me in the mood for a Friday
beg yes to play playing it on air making love
to my missus as I text this, No, it's not
about that kind of stroke, and it's we want to

(24:07):
make sure that the understands some of the lyrics and
that Clarence Carter song may be suggesting to making love
on the couch and the car. You know, there's a
lot of questions that will be asked, but but we're
playing it purely around the rowing and not the love
making aspect of the show.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
And again, this person that says I'm stroking right now
to the show again.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Look, I will put that as I will put that
as a vote for playing Clarence Carter's we'll go through.
It is now one thirty two, one thirty two, four
and one thirty five A gains.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Another one has just come through as well.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
It's coming through thick and fastest stroking. It's like last night.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
It's like the New Zealand is up against the remaining
the noses of the boats to playing stroking or not.
It's like Brook Francis and Lucy Spores.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
They had the Remedians coming up behind and that's the
note that that's they're going to come through. Okay, I'm
confident that Clarence Carter is going to come through and
win this for New Zealand.

Speaker 6 (24:57):
You're Complete New Zealand Today with Matty and Jeremy Wells
available everywhere on the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
App, News, entertainment, sports and music that rocks exclusively on
Radio Hurdacky. It's seven thirty one and here are you
are Radio Hedaki News Headlines.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
With thanks Mattie.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Titan's first council since commissioners were introduced in twenty twenty one,
will be sworn in today. New mayor and former Olympian
Mahi Drysdale will lead a team of nine councilors.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Mate, we've just been We've just won three medals over
and you're talking about tronger council meetings. I mean, I
guess it's slightly interesting because Mahi Drysdale he bronze in
two thousand and eight at Beijing. Didn't you got gold
in London in twenty twelve and gold in Rio in
twenty sixteen. Because we keep the headlines focused less on

(25:49):
local body politics and more on the reign of medals
in Paris.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
I just I just thought it was kind of topical.
And you know, maybe in twelve years time, Twiggy is
going to be the mayor of Auckland. Think about that?

Speaker 1 (26:01):
All right? What else you got talk about that?

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Speaking of the Olympics, New Zealand's meal hall at the
Paris Olympics has swelled via a rowing trifecta of gold,
silver and bronze. Lucy Spores and Brook Francis won the
double skulls, the men's took the men's four took silver,
and the women secured bronze. New Zealand are now up
to equal eleventh on the medal table with two gold,

(26:24):
two silver and a bronze.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
China lead with eleven medals. It's still accurate, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
You give them a taste of Kiwi, the little nation that
roared per head of capita, which is the only one
that really counts.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
We're far ahead of China. I mean China.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
I have got twenty two medals. Who got five. You know,
we've only got five million people. They've got about seventy
eight billion people in China. So give them a taste
of Kiwi. And on the topic of a Brook Fraser
and Lucy Lawless winning that gold.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I thought there was a mistake. I'm gonna leave it.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
No, Lucy Spores and Brook Francis winning the double skulls.
We're looking at playing Clarence Carter Stroken to celebrate at
eight and we're getting you to vote on it three
for eighty three the Tikpack Funch on your heart radio app.
Do you want to It's currently sitting at one hundred
and ninety two votes against playing.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Stroking out of the eight o'clock news.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Quite a lot, yeah, but creeping up almost nose to nose.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Oh yeah, like the race last night, Strokings one hundred
and eighty nine votes.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
One thing that I would say against us playing Stroking
at eight o'clock. The next person to talk after that
is g Lane, and I feel like.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, you can't be trusted with the YEA And this
good point the Matt.

Speaker 6 (27:40):
And Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Hey, I've been hacked on Facebook. Well I haven't really
been hacked, but someone's made a fake account saying it's
Matt Heath and commenting everywhere that you can win prizes
with the Matt and Jerry Show.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
You're not having any prizes on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
If someone says you have won a prize and it
says Matt Heath, then it's not me, okay, especially if
you have a look at that profile. It's got about
ten followers. But Facebook doesn't. There's no way, you know,
Like I've messaged them. Lots of people have messaged them
to say this is a fake account. And Facebook of
course doesn't have a like a call center. It just
says AI to look at the complaints. So is the

(28:14):
most clear scam you could ever see. It looks ridiculous,
it's so fake and such bad graphics. But this is
what I got from Facebook this morning.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Okay, right here we go.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
It says, Hi, Matt, we have reviewed the profile your
friend reported and found that it isn't pretending to be
you and doesn't go against our community standards. Not If
you see something on someone's profile that shouldn't be on Facebook,
be sure to report the content eg. A photo or video,
and not the entire profile. So what's the most clear
freaking scam you could ever see?

Speaker 1 (28:47):
You couldn't.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
I don't think even a ninety two year old boomer
their first time on social media wouldn't be able to see.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
That that's a scam.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
And yet Facebook comes back and says, we have reviewed
the profile your friend report and found it isn't pretending
to be you. It clearly is pretending to me. It's
called it South mad Heath and it's got a picture
of me. I was it not pretending to be me?
It's got a picture of me, says my name, and
it's posting fake competitions. Yes, Meta AI? Is it the
dumbest AI on planet Earth?

Speaker 5 (29:16):
I think customer service is going to hit in the
direction right across the board of Mate. And it's absolutely
terrifying because I've got the same issue with me when
it comes to my mobile phone. As I'm trying to
change my phone number because I recently got a new
work phone Fromyeah Work, and I tried to reach out
to the customer service team.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
At Meta to sort me out.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
Yeah, and you just get in touch with the robot
and they just go no, You're like, hang on, this
is not what customer services I need to report. You
need to report your mate who skipped. By the way,
I have never seen that many emojis in a Facebook
post all my life.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
If anyone is replying to.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
This more than one emoji.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
So if you see something under my name and it's
got twenty seven emojis and says that you've won ten
thousand dollars, I will never give away ten thousand dollars
personally from my personal account either.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
So what do we do now?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Then?

Speaker 2 (29:54):
What do you do?

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Do you just have to sit here and watch it
well and just hope that no one fools for it.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
US two thoughts on this. Firstly, AI is not going
to take over anytime soon. If it's as dumb as
Meta AI, well Meta AI is going to take over.
And secondly, this Texas said, so that wasn't you that
sent me.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
A rod shot last night? No, that was that rod
shot was from me.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
So you may receive rod shots, but you will not
be seen an opportunity win ten.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Thousan dollars.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
How that plays out, because obviously Meta are't going to
do anything about that for you.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Okay, keep those votes coming through. Whether we play Clarence
Carter Stroking of course, against the wishes of our Australian
content director Pixie Campbell, to celebrate the gold medal, the gold,
silver and bronze medals in the Rowing Overnight will if
we get enough votes and it's only between five votes
at the moment against and four. If we get enough votes,

(30:50):
we'll be playing that Stroken tribute just after eight o'clock
on the matin Jerry.

Speaker 6 (30:54):
Show and Mat and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
It's fair boy Slim Radio. I heardeck he is twelve
minutes eight your Friday morning.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
If you haven't heard already, it's been raining gold overnight
and Brook Francis Lussi spores, when double sculls, gold men's
COXUS four, When silver women's COXUS four, when's bronze And
we're going live to Paris to talk to James mcconey.
It's raining medals, James absolute scenes in Paris discussed.

Speaker 9 (31:22):
Oh yes, indeed, and it started with a golden shower,
which is what every key we wanted today.

Speaker 14 (31:28):
Excuse me, I've just been arrested for that. Shocking, it's
just the word on fat boy Sindow.

Speaker 9 (31:36):
Has anyone made more money from pure lyrics?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
That's a discussion for another day. Maybe maybe the Paris
Is and France's own daft paint with around the World.

Speaker 13 (31:46):
Yeah, exactly, Yeah, the French.

Speaker 14 (31:49):
We were there in the in the in the opening ceremony.

Speaker 13 (31:51):
Yeah, missing and m i A where was dark?

Speaker 4 (31:57):
What are the next big opportunities for KII medal? Is
James mccony going forward in the next day or so? Look,
there's more rowing and in fact, you know, you look
at this, there's a few big names in a twig.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
What's up?

Speaker 14 (32:15):
Does anyone understand Buck Rogers references?

Speaker 2 (32:21):
And also what about Hobbs?

Speaker 5 (32:22):
What about what about my favorite Olympian Zoey Hobbs. She's
got a race coming up at some point, doesn't she.
James mcconey, Yeah, I know, I saw that you liked
one of her videos where she was going through her.

Speaker 9 (32:33):
Uniform, which is pretty much just a bikini running.

Speaker 14 (32:38):
You can see which friends of yours have liked it.
But you not only like a fire emoji, also a
water emoji.

Speaker 5 (32:49):
I'm like what the signal? It's not sure. I did
like the photo. I have to admit the uniform most great.
So when is that race, Macony.

Speaker 9 (32:57):
She's going to heat tomorrow morning.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
I'll be out there and started to they're gonna they've
chucked the track around, They've just chucked zero track and
they've just slapped it down and so she'll be running
and a good chance to make the final.

Speaker 14 (33:08):
I think I have.

Speaker 13 (33:08):
That seems sneaky good because the throwers they're all having
the greatest time.

Speaker 9 (33:13):
You can't tell if they keidan or not. But big
Tom Walsh.

Speaker 13 (33:17):
Know he's he's a chance.

Speaker 14 (33:18):
Yeah, buddy Tory Peters throwing the javelin.

Speaker 9 (33:21):
Yes, yep, awesome, Okay, why not?

Speaker 4 (33:23):
And in the pool, Lewis Clearbert has qualified for the
semi finals of the two hundred meters individual medley from
seven forty seven AM and the woman's four by two
hundred meter freestyle relay team are through to their eighth
three AM final with the eighth fastest time. I've got
a question for you, though, jameson Coney, do you support
playing Stroken by Clarence Carter on the show after eight

(33:43):
to celebrate the gold, silver and bronze going backwards on
the water.

Speaker 14 (33:48):
That's my stuff.

Speaker 13 (33:49):
Ain't tight enough?

Speaker 9 (33:50):
You can stroke it up my.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
Alright. Sky is the exclusive TV broadcaster of the Olympics
this year. Watched twelve Olympic channels on Sky and Sky
Sport Now or watch free to air on Sky Open.

Speaker 12 (34:04):
Good on you, Maconi, The Matt and Jerry Show Podcast,
The Matt and Jerry Show Podcast.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Jeremy on Radio Hocky weekday mornings from six until.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
And it's all thanks to Bunning's trade.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
No matter where you are, Bunning's Trade are there to
help a beg Welcome to those listening on the Matt
and Jerry Radio Highlights podcasts. For those listening live coming
up before nine g Laying taking us through the weekend
of sport. Would you rather the Nral Grand Final of
Bathist We're going to put more people in the drawer.
We've got bizarre discontinued Olympic Sports and we announced the

(34:45):
top four flavors that you'll be able to vote for
when Dad's Pies make the inaugural Radio Hadeki Pie later
this year. But right now, Ladies and Gentlemen, Stroken by
Clarence Carter to celebrate.

Speaker 15 (35:06):
Brook Francis Lucy Spores win and the double skulls they
got gold, Men's COXUS four they won silver overnight and
the Women's COXUS four one bronze. So we've been voting
all morning whether we will play Stroking by Clarence Carter
to celebrate Pixie Campbell. Our content director, he's against it.

(35:29):
So we needed a good turnout for the pros.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Currently against four hundred and seventy one cheapers.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
The four's four hundred and ninety seven and he's on
the podium.

Speaker 7 (35:49):
Lucy Spores, Brook Francis down to the line that's gold.

Speaker 11 (35:54):
Can they run down the US like think it's gonna
be just.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Beyond the silver?

Speaker 11 (35:59):
New Zealand so far right middle, That's what I mean.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
I stalking the Matt and Jerry Show podcast.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
I've been stalking, brought Frances out to the line that's.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Gone, and I stopped. I stalk to the woman man
is stroking. That's Clarence Cutter. You couldn't have.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
Had a more footing tribute to Brook Francis Lucy Spores
with their double skulls goal, the men's coxless four win silver,
and the woman's COXUS for winning the bronze and to
celebrate it even further beg Juicy, Welcome to the show.
ACC's G Lane. Good morning. How are you feeling after
that shower last night?

Speaker 9 (36:48):
Of Oh, Malcolm Jordan on the call as well. Yeah,
it marks that stroke. And I'll tell you what that
song is a lot longer.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Yeah, it was a lot longer four minutes.

Speaker 14 (37:03):
I think.

Speaker 9 (37:03):
I think on average we should all agree it's probably
around the two to.

Speaker 14 (37:06):
Two and a half.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Yeah, I mean realistically, yeah, I agree on that.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
That's good.

Speaker 9 (37:10):
Yeah, So what to make it longer? Was Malcolm Jordan?
He does that big male so he's great to hear
him on the call on gold Sport and what a night.

Speaker 14 (37:18):
It's funny, isn't it.

Speaker 9 (37:19):
The first few days of the Olympic Games get It's
the same cycle.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Every time we go.

Speaker 9 (37:23):
We're useless, we're rubbish.

Speaker 14 (37:25):
We've got no medals for three or four days because
it's all the pointless sports like swimming at the Aussies
get a boner about and then the seat comes out, boom,
middles raining.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
As soon as we start going backwards, the middles start
raining from the sky.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
On New Zealand eleventh on the table, equal with Netherlands.
But the per capita we're appsolutely.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Winging all over China.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
They've got twenty two medals, we've got five, but they've
got about seventy eight billion people.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Glane.

Speaker 9 (37:54):
Yeah, and plus I've got a whole province at the
north with a couple of billion and it the just
do Olympic sport. They've got them in little camps there.

Speaker 14 (38:02):
They get the freaks for the tall ones, they get
the short ones.

Speaker 9 (38:05):
For the gymnastics.

Speaker 6 (38:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (38:06):
Look, I love the per capita table. That's where we
do our best work. What really threw us last Olympics
was when Fiji took gold and that really rooted our
per capita. So they went winless on the gold for
that good news for us.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
But it's not only the Olympics, g Laane. The Wars
denied against the Eels at go Hart Stadium. Do you
still believe is it still possible to make the top eight?

Speaker 9 (38:29):
Well? I got cornered by Ruder and he just went
at me and at me about mathematically. The Warriors are
still definitely a chance to get in the top eight.
And the only way I could get out of being
cornered was agreeing with him. And I'd have to agree
with him. We're still a chance. We're still a chance.

Speaker 5 (38:45):
Now, Glane, just to clarify, is there a chance that
you might be hitting along to Mount Smart Stadium tonight?

Speaker 9 (38:56):
Yes, yes, yes, I'm going This is great.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Lane.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
I need you to think about this, g Lane. I
need you to think long and hard about this. This
is a muscling game for us. And you know what, Haavens,
if you hit along to these things, look.

Speaker 9 (39:06):
You shut up, you shut up, then I.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Need to be very very careful. Okay.

Speaker 9 (39:10):
Look, you know what what's even worse is Chris Key
is on commentary and after Jesus rapact commentators, oh my god,
time they played, that's the man you should be targeting.
So that's the man, not me.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Can the grimm reaver of sport and Chris Key over
overcome the odds here, because at the tab the Warriors
are paying one dollar twenty two the Eels paramount of
Eels paying four twenty twenty five.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
Oh God, if the t be get a sniff of
the fact that obviously Chris Keys on the commentary and
G Lane's actually there at the game, then those odds
are just going to flip.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
On their head.

Speaker 9 (39:40):
I'd like to think we can see each other out.
So I think look in front of another packed out god. Yeah, yeah,
how good it's gonna be so good? How good is
that they deserve? They deserve their last two games to
be sold out. They deserve a full house. My hunch, Yeah,
you have hunch.

Speaker 13 (39:57):
My hunch.

Speaker 14 (39:57):
I've gone a bit deep.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
I've gone d w to.

Speaker 9 (40:00):
Be first, second or third try scorer and Roger two
of us as seck anytime try scorer from the back,
full back.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Okay, So, and that.

Speaker 9 (40:08):
Is paying four to seventy, So I.

Speaker 14 (40:11):
Guarantee it's good.

Speaker 9 (40:13):
Eiden, that's good.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Aiden, It's good eating eight pm tonight at go Hard Stadium.
And you can listen on the on the sky i
ACC commentary. So you say Kezy, and who's with Kezy tonight?

Speaker 14 (40:25):
It's Kezy and Die and they've been they've.

Speaker 9 (40:28):
Been shuffled to sky Sport two because of the Olympics. Okay,
So I'm no.

Speaker 14 (40:33):
Doubt that we will get.

Speaker 9 (40:34):
A few boomers and a few people actingly get onto it.
But once, once you have a taste of die inward,
you don't go.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Back, you know. Diehumd is the opposite of a Jakes.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 13 (40:44):
G Lay.

Speaker 6 (40:47):
The Matt and Jerry Show podcast This.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Is the Matten Jury Show this week without Jerry Well.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
We celebrate Brook Francis and Lucy Spores win and the
double skulls and Men's cox US four winning silver and
the women's cox us for winning bronze and New Zealand
being eleventh equal on the medy medal table but number
one in the per capita table at the Olympics. We
thought would have a look back at the most bizarre
discontinued Olympics sports.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Oh okay, painting.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
Back in the day, Olympics dished out medals for art,
with events including painting and sculpture as well as music,
architecture and even literature. Making its debut all the way
back at the twenty nineteen twelve Olympics in Stockholm and
continuing until nineteen forty eight London Games, Theresa Ward competed
as the total of one hundred and fifty one medals
for artistic projects.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
The Tiger War.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
Not only was that a sport popular, but it stood
up a lot of drym with accusations of foul play
flying around in the nineteen eight Olympics in London, with
tm USA accusing Team Great Britain of cheating due to their.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Illegal heavy footwear.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
So that was in the Olympics between nineteen hundred and
nineteen twenty. Hot Year balloon racing was in the Olympics
in the nineteen hundred a hot Year balloon drivers would
compete in races, scoring how far they could travel. So
that was just the length that you could stay in
the air for risky to push it, you know, to
keep pushing when you're running out of gas. The sport

(42:06):
ended being canned after a ban on Moltro's sports was
brought in Live pigeon shooting.

Speaker 5 (42:11):
You're absolutely rattling through these. These are all blowing my
mind far nineteen hundred Olympics. The event was pretty self expedatory.
Instead of the clay pigeons, a load of pigeons were
released in the air and competers would shoot them as
many as possible.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
The event only appeared at the Games once and all
in all was just made of the Olympic hopefuls killed
three hundred pigeons on the day. Pistol jeweling was in
the Olympics. Pistol jeweling and nineteen o six people clearly
didn't mind computers waving pistols around and shooting at each other.
It began with competitors shooting at dummies, but two years
later organizers decided to shake things up and have them
shoot at each other with wax bollots. Oh Man, amazing,

(42:46):
nineteen out would be the last sport, the last time
they had it. And get this, between nineteen twenty eight
and nineteen forty eight, town planning was in the Olympics.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Jesus.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
So like you turn up and build a roundabout, would you?
I mean, you're not gonna be able to put a
transport system together in two weeks? Are some think you
might have had to bring pictures of the town planning
you've done back in your city alone.

Speaker 5 (43:07):
Maybe no disrespect to those involved with town planning, but

it was finals going on. It was very exciting stuff.
Now what I'm about to play to you is the
forty five seconds of commentary that I caught. Matt, I'd
