you the floor first, because youhad some thoughts about it. I want
to hear them. So the waythat it was introduced to me was there's
going to be an in season tournamentin November where there was going to be
you know, a bunch of teamsin it. Winner gets a big trophy,
bunch of pay contracts. Two hundredwas two hundred thousand for the loser,
two hundred thousand for the winner,two hundred thousand for the loser,

five hundred thousand per player, perplayer, per player, that's very important,
per player five thousand or five hundredthousand, So half a million dollars
for every winner. That is crazy. And when you were first telling me
about this, my first thought was, why why do this, Why add
this, Why make it such abig drastic change, Why make it such

a big deal, and it partiallyit stuck out to me as almost a
way to just give players more accolades. Players that their teams can't make it
to the finals, teams that youknow, haven't been able to be put
in good positions in the past nowget a shot at a trophy at big
cash for their stars. And Idon't know. I mean, it's it's

something where I guess you add somein season hype. You know, it
gives you a big event for everyoneto kind of be, you know,
all around and be more interested in. But it's just strange to me.
It's strange to me. I don'tknow where to be introducing an in season
such a big tournament with such bigpayouts per player. I appreciate the effort

by Adam Silver. And one ofthe things that I do actually like is
the play in tournament for the NBApostseason. So seed seventh through ten have
to go in a roundabout way tryingto make up those final seventh and eighth
seed. Now, we ultimately sawwe were seconds away from not getting the

Miami Heat into the playoffs. Ultimatelythey ended up the runner up for NBA
Championship. I like that portion thisin season soccer World Cup style play of
in tournament playing. I do notlike it. I am and my wife

knows this a participation trophy thrower andmy thrower, I mean, my daughter
will not be receiving a participation trophybecause in my day, if you didn't
win the trophy, that meant thatyou're not a loser, because I don't
believe that there are losers. There'sonly lessons learned. I believe that means

I got to work twice as hardand I gotta come back stronger, and
I gotta go win that trophy,and when I do, it's going to
be that much sweeter. But somewherein a social media area era, and
I'm gonna put Lebron James as apart of it. I'm gonna put the
fans in the media part of it, where if you don't win a ring,
somehow it's a failure of the season, which I do not agree with.

I think if you win one SuperBowl, if you win one NBA
Championship, in the context of let'sjust take Damian Lillard, and I wanted
to get into that, we didn'thave time for that. Damian Lillard,
if somehow he was able to bringa title to Portland that is a meaningful
NBA championship, that is a sweatdriven, blood driven championship. Now I'm

not gonna say that outweighs Kevin Durant'stitles with Golden State, but what I'm
gonna say is it made it thatmuch more meaningful. And I think somewhere
lost in the social media era thateverybody had to get a trophy now this
in season tournament. I appreciate theefforts of trying to keep it fresh,
new, competitive, but I'm notfor it. I don't like it.

Now. Maybe a lot of peoplefeel that way, and five years from
now, we'll be like, thisis the greatest thing ever. But my
first take of it was, whatare we in high school? Is this
AAU basketball? What is going onhere? And I'm just gonna wrap it
up this because we had about fortyseconds left right now right here. I

hate the idea of a play intournament. They threw around the idea of
potentially guaranteeing a playoff spot for thewinder, which I thought would have been
funny because you know, Sacramento Kingsbefore last year were like one of the
laughing stocks. Imagine them being atenth seed in play in tournament, guaranteed

at least to be in the playin tournament. I thought that would have
been something that would have made itmore interesting. Is guaranteeing a playing spot,
not a seating, but a playin spot, guaranteed at the very
least so as of right now today, July ninth, I'm not a fan.
