Speaker 1 (00:00):
Way, Guru, I got away to Thailand and Cambodi, and
I got away to the Utah Travel Expo. You know
we broadcasted live last week. What a great event. We've
got a great show today. I want to talk about
some of the expo discounts that were exclusive to the
Utah Travel Expo that have been held over. Thank you Morris,

(00:22):
Columbus Travel and all the vendors for another week or two,
depending on what the offer is. I have got perhaps
the greatest cruise tour that I can ever remember that
we're going to talk about today. It's next year. We've
got three fantastic guests that will be coming in to

(00:44):
join us today. Did you know that the UK United
Kingdom has a new entry requirement. John Potter is in studio,
will be giving us a Disney update and an exciting
new Paris and Normandy River cruise tour including the d
Day Beaches and Normandy and the Salt Lake Airport has

(01:06):
passed all record for passengers as some fantastic Hawaii and
Mexico deals. Well, thank you for joining us today. I
just look forward to spending this time with you. I'd
like to give a very special welcome to John Potter
Travel Advisor extraordinary. Welcome back to the show, John, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I always love being here.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Well, you do such a good job, and John's gonna
got some great deals for us today. So first of all, John,
I was down at the Saint George Utah Travel Expo,
which was last Wednesday of.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Last week a week ago Wednesday, and.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Then of course the blockbuster in Salt Lake Friday and Saturday,
the Mountain America Expo Center. We had one hundred and
seven travel vendors and supplies. These are airl lines, cruise lines,
safari companies, tour companies, hotels, resorts, travel companies, everything, national

(02:08):
travel bureaus. We had people flying in from overseas for
the different national travel boards that promote their country. It
was an incredible event and I think one of the
best parts, John, were the exclusive travel expo discounts. Well,
the good news is we had the Utah Travel expoll.

(02:31):
The bad news is it's over with those exclusive discounts.
But the fantastic news is many of these travel suppliers
have extended the discounts. Give me a couple of examples.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
All right, Yeah, they're still good. Royal Caribbean cruise lines
up to one hundred dollars on board credit and specialty
dining that has to be booked by February eighth, so
it's got to be booked this week.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
What's an on board credit?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
On board credit is basically free money. You can use
it towards shore excursions, drink packages, anything purchased on board
the ship, specialty dining, pretty much anything on board the
ship except your gratuities and the casino.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, you know, the casino. That's bad news for Carlos.
Fieda spends a lot of I know you're listening, Carlos.
We love it. PI Ghetto Mujo Migo. So that's by
the way. Jenny twoj the strategic accounts manager for Royal Caribbean,
is going to join us later in the show.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
She is She is great, as we've learned this week,
she's a problem solver. Delta vacations two hundred dollars savings
per booking booked by the end of February, and of course,
on the Waterways, complimentary land package through March thirty.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
First, what's the land package on the Waterways is a
river cruise company.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Right, they offer either post or pre stays prior to
their For instance, you'd mentioned my Paris Normandy. With this deal,
our two free nights in Paris are included for free.
It's a twelve hundred and fifty dollars value. And that's
for any of their Alma Waterways cruises in Europe you
get free land package.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
And the land package usually includes the hotel, breakfast daily,
a tour, tour and transfers. Yeah, it's a great and
you know those are priced. They're usually two nights, sometimes
three nights. They're usually priced one thousand to two thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Per per person.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
These are free. I'm anxious to hear about your tour
later in the show. Yeah, for Paris and Normandy, any other.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Specials it's how about Globus's family of brands, that would
be Globus, Cosmos and Avalon. They they are doing up
to one hundred dollars per person off. I put some
people on a European tour, five people, and they got
a five hundred dollars discount.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Delta Vacations I believe is also doing a program. I
call it, this is my term, a triple discount. When
you book a Delta vacation, which is an air and
hotel package to just about anywhere Delta Airlines flies. Delta
Vacations is the vacation arm of Delta Airlines. So you
get your air and hotel. I call it the triple discount.

(05:21):
John Discount Number one guaranteed flat out, no questions asked,
a discount on your airfare lower than if you bought
the airfare alone. Discount number two is a guaranteed flat
out discount on the hotel or resort. You combine those
John and it's always lower than if you bought the

(05:44):
two components air and hotel separately. Then the triple discount
is Delta Vacations will take that already discounted price and do.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
What knock up to a two hundred dollars discount off
the top of that per booking, per booking. And then
one thing that you did not mention is Sky Miles
members get extra points for booking with Dell Vacations. You
do not just get the points for flying your mqtd X. Yes,
you also get extra miles for booking.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
KHD, of course, is the acronym for the Medallion Medallion
Qualifying Dollars Qualifying Dollars MQD, which goes to your medallion status.
Well listen. The expiration on these exclusive expo discounts which

(06:37):
have been held over varies by vendor. So give Morris
Columbus a call on Monday. You can check out their
website Morriscolumbus dot com. That's Morris Columbus dot com. Or
give them a ring at eight hundred triple nine forty
six forty six. Eight hundred triple nine forty six forty six.

(06:57):
But if you have the every travel advisor has a
direct number John. Yours is eight oh one four eight three.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Five two one four fifty two fourteen.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Fifty two, and you can call John director any of
our great travel advisors. Now I wish I had a
drum roll, Denny? Do you have a drum roll anywhere?
Denny's our engineer producer. All right, you'll be looking for
it because we'll come back to this again. So drum
roll John. Fact check me on this one. This what

(07:32):
I'm going to be talking about is absolutely fantastic. One
of the absolute best deals in my forty six years
of travel. You know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yes, I do you doubt me? I do not doubt
you doubt me.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's the Pearls of Asia. It's a cruise tour that
I'll be personally hosting next year twenty twenty six April
seventeen to May one. Fast your seat belt, listen to
this itinerary. We visit Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea,

(08:11):
and four stops in Japan. And those four stops include Nagasaki,
which is such an iconic We'll visit Ground zero. It's
a very sobering and there's other wonderful things in Nagasaki.
Then on to Kobe, which is the gateway to Kyoto,

(08:31):
the ancient capital, the Golden Pavilion, the temples. Uh Kyoto
is everything that you you dream Japan to be. Then
onto Shimi Zoo and Shimmi Zoo is a very interesting
uh stop because it's Mount Fuji. It's the Japanese Alps.
And then onto Yokohama and Tokyo. Now that's a fantastic itinerary.

(08:57):
On the on the ovation of the seas, tell me about.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I've sailed that ship. It is wonderful. It's got bumper
cars on it. It's got the North Star, which is
the big capsule that you get into and it gets
up over the edge of the ship. Laser tag. It's
just a real function. Oh in the I fly, don't
read the eye fly that's simulated skydiving.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
It is a blast, it's a it's a relatively new ship. Yes,
it's a beautiful ship with Royal Caribbean. And here is
why it's the deal of the century. I'm going we
have group pricing. The ship is almost sold out because
of the itinerary. I'm going to give you the Royal
Caribbean price, then the Morris Columbus price, and then the

(09:40):
savings if you buy it direct from Royal, if you
buy it from us, and what you save and I
want to get space is very limited. It is we
have about fifteen cabins left. Okay for an interior cabin.
Buy it directly from Royal thirty one seven. This includes

(10:01):
all taxes. Our price is nineteen seventy one. That's a
savings of eleven fifty six per person. Ocean View Royals
price thirty four sixty eight and that's not a bad
price for.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
This two week credit cruise.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Our price is twenty three twenty one, a savings of
eleven forty seven per person. And the balcony and that's
what you want. Royals price is forty one thirty two.
Our price twenty seven sixty one. That saves almost fourteen
hundred dollars per percent. Coming up next, Royal Caribbean. You're

(10:49):
listing to the Travel Show. I'm Larry Gelwiz the Getaway Goo,
joined today in studio by Goofy himself, John Potter. Hey, John,
you didn't wear your goofy hat at expo. I was disappointed.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I had it with me. I was just too busy
to put it on.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Oh my goodness, you failed me. We'd like to welcome
to the show one of our dear dear friends, Jenny Too,
Jay Strategic account manager in the sales department with Royal
Caribbean International Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Jenny, Welcome to the
Travel Show.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Good morning, Larry and John. Glad to be here, and.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I should say welcome back. You're almost a regular guest
with us because we love you so much.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
And I like that very very good.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Hey you were last week? You were at the Utah
Travel Expo. What was your experience like there?

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Well, Larry, it was my twentieth first year with you
guys at the expo, and I think it was bigger
and better than ever more people. I mean the energy
was just there. It was it was amazing, It was incredible, and.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Of course supper some special discounts. Listen. In the last segment,
John and I were talking about the Pearls of Asia
Cruise Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and four stops
in Japan that you know I'll be personally hosting next year.
We're on the Ovation of the Seas. Give our listeners

(12:21):
a quick rundown on why you love the Ovation of
the Seas cruise ship.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Well, besides being a beautiful piece of work, I mean
the artwork on board, but the feel of the ship.
She has a beautiful esclade down the middle of the ship.
It's kind of like a little promenade where you can
dine and eat and people watch.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
She's absolutely beautiful.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
She has a lot of unique features, including an I Fly.
If you ever wanted to go I flying, this is
your can't. The North Star, which is a capsule that
holds fifteen people, is the tallest object according to the
World Against.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Book of World Records.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
So you can go up in the North Star and
oh my, heaven's there. Where you're in the region, you're
sailing would be an amazing experience. So she has a
lot of Well, the entertainment, Royal Kabben has award winning entertainment,
so the shows on board.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
The Ovation will be incredible. It will be just an
amazing experience.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
But the bumper cars are my favorite on this one.
Of course they are Oh yeah, hey listen, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
If you want to do the bumper cars, that's always fun.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Josh, that's always fun. You know, I mentioned that space
was limited. We have just a few ocean view and
balcony cabins left and they're on what's called a guarantee,
which means that the guest does not select cabin one,
two three, but you're you book a balcony. You are
guaranteed to have a balcony and will be assigned by

(13:51):
Royal Caribbean. You want to call Monday, because Jenny, you've
seen these sales numbers. I think this is going to
be gone Monday, I think so.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Yes, well we sold a lot of the show.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yes that table. Yeah, I'd like to cover three things
quickly with Royal Caribbean, one of my favorite. I mean
this sincerely, I love Royal Caribbean. First of all, you
got three ships sailing from Los Angeles and the port
of La is really in San Pedro. Tell us about

(14:27):
the itineraries. The ships very very quickly and we have
about five minutes.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Left, so we have the Navigator of the Seas there.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I love you have a spring break cruiser.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Yes, yeah, as you're going again and next year in
twenty twenty six. But the Navigators they are sailing now
offering three four, five and seven night itineries out of
la and then we also have the Ovation, the one
that you're doing there in Asia will be there all
summer long, which is great. And when she departs to
go back to Japan at the end of September, her

(15:02):
sister ship, the Quantum of the Seas will arrive and
those ships are offering as well, the three, four, five
and seven night itineries to Ensenata, Catalina and Cabo, with
many of the itineraries overnight in Cabo San Lucas, so
it's we stay right in the bay in Cabo.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
So if you want to have dinner and maybe.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Go to a show in Cabo San Lucas.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Or a long day itiner short excursion, you can do.
So we'll be there when you get back.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
You know, A Royal Caribbean I think does an extraordinary
job in Asia, and there's still some last minute deals
out there.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Yes, oh heaven, Jess.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
We have ships all over the world. We have twenty
twenty eight ships that can take you all over the world.
Actually we have another one coming in August, the Star
of the Seas.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Now, let's talk about promotions. What's going on in the
month of February with Royal Caribbean in promotions, discounts, Kids
sale free, bring us up to date.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
We have sixty percent off second guest, thirty percent off
third and fourth and if you're twelve and under you
get to sail free on Real Caribbean on select sailings.
So that means that twelve and under are blacked out
during the holidays and summer months. But exclusive with Morris
Columbus Travel. We also have specialty dining and one hundred

(16:28):
dollar up to one hundred dollars on board credit through
February seventh.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
And now that's booking. That doesn't mean that you are
sailing in February. You just simply have to book it.
Now with the kids sail free, they sail free, but
they do pay the taxes, which is not much but
that's about the only cost unless they run you up
a soda pop bill or something like that. Well, you know,

(16:54):
there's so many good choices out there, Jenny for cruising
Royal Caribbean being right at the top, but there's there's
other I mean, there's some really good cruise lines. Why
Royal Caribbean, you.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Know there besides our amazing innovative ships, but the award
winning entertainment from.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
The Aqua Theater shows, the ice.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Shows, our original productions, and we have true Broadway shows
that kind of sets us apart from the others. But
all the activities on our innovative ships are included. So
we already mentioned some of them from but we'll add
some more. Other than the bumper cars, we've got the
rock climbing, flow rider, ice skating, I.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Mentioned the I fly, you can go ziplining, and if
you want to just just chill out.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
All of our ships have an adult only solarium eighteen
and older. You can go in there in a quiet
space and read your book, go swimming, go in the
hot tub. So and you can only go to perfect
gay Cococaine on Royal Caribbean. Our private island in the
Bahamas is amazing.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
It's a great day.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
I think it's my favorite day when I sail to Caribbean.
It's a perfect day in Coco. K Jenny two Jay,
Strategic account Manager, Sales Department, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Jenny,
thank you for joining us on the Travel Show. Think
all that Helly we come back new requirements to get

(18:23):
to jolly On, England. Welcome back to the Travel Show.
I'm Mary Gelwiz, the Getaway Guru. You know this is
my thirty fourth year hosting the Travel Show, and you
know I think about you guys out there in our

(18:44):
listening audience all the time and just want to send
my love and appreciation because you make all of this possible,
like to Welcome to the show. Mark Faldmo, dear dear friend,
business partner for lo these many years. He's joining John
Potter and I in studio today. Mark, Welcome to the
Travel Show. Okay say that again. I didn't have his

(19:12):
mic turned on.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Hey, thank you glad to be back on.

Speaker 6 (19:15):
It's been a few years.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
It has when I left here for three years as
a man of the cloth in California. Friendsno, you actually
did the travel show.

Speaker 7 (19:28):
I did three years that was a very interesting experience.
I enjoyed it, and I can't replace you, but it
was a marvelous experience.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
I'll tell you one funny thing. I don't know if
I've admitted this. Kathy and I served as mission leaders
in the California Fresnoe mission, probably about twice a year.
I because the show is live streamed all over the world,
I would actually tune in and listen to the travel show.

(19:56):
And one time I called in, but I said, don't
put me on the air. You were talking about something
and you left just a couple of details out. And
I told the producer who answers the phone, I said,
just remind Mark of Bing bing bing, and you did it.
He did. So you got a call from the mission field.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
Always appreciate the help.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Please thank you. Well, I'm the one that needs the help.
And John good to have you. Yes, it really was
our co host for many, many years. Yes, and then
he went out into the Netherland and wandered in the
wilderness for two years. And we are so.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Glad that I found my way back.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Thank you very much. You know last month, and I
say last month because today's February. First, you know, us
citizens traveling to the UK United Kingdom, which is England, Wales,
Scotland and the Northern Ireland for short visits, tourism or business,

(20:58):
including those just passing through changing planes at a UK airport.
Need and ETA no not estimated time of arrival, but
electronic travel authorization, which mark many countries are doing. You know,
later this month I'll be in Australia, New Zealand. I

(21:18):
had to have an ETA for both of those. Now
you gotta do this that you can't even board the
plane without it. It was effective January eighth. Now the
URL is too long for me to give on the air,
so simply google United Kingdom ETA requirement United Kingdom ETA

(21:42):
requirement and it's just boom, boom. It's all electronic. You
don't even have to talk to anybody. Now, I know
that all three of us love England, the British Isles,
all of that Ireland Republic of Ireland actually is not
part of the UK, Northern Ireland is Let's talk about something.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Important, okay, Food, All right, all.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Right, Mark, I've seen you eat. It's quite a sight,
you know.

Speaker 7 (22:14):
One of our former partners, Dave Coyman. You know, sometimes
I'm a sloppy eater. And I said, I got this
particular tie today. He says, do you dress according to
what you're going to eat that day?

Speaker 1 (22:26):
So it's a red tie with salts. You did? You
did hit your tie a few time. You know, we
used to wear ties to work. Yeah, I am very
few people to Okay, give me a favorite British food.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
You know. And when you mentioned this, I drew a
blank because England is not known for food.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
But I'd have to say fish and chips. I really
love that.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Well you know that I love fish and chips. But
there's a problem with it. John in the British Isles, Now, yeah, fish.
What's your favorite seafood? Tea bone steak. But the problem
is it always was wrapped in newspaper. Yes, and they
outlawed it, saying that printers ink was not healthy. I

(23:09):
think has a total bunch of bs. I thought it
dave it flavor and you know you got to put
a little malt, vinegar and salt on it. Oh my goodness,
is that good? I think mine are the hot pies. Oh, yes,
you know I like steak. I never got into the
kidney steak and kidney, you know, come on, steak and cheese,

(23:30):
Steak and mushroom, Steak and kidney is very popular, but
it will never touch my lips. Here is one just
for you, John, Okay, I want you to tell me
if you know what this is. Toad in the Hole.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
I should know. I know it involves potatoes.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Well, usually that's a side dish. It's sausage is dipped
in Yorkshire pudding. Beat bangers and mash. Anyone want to
take that one?

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Bangers of sausage.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Bangers is the sausage is with mashed potatoes and peas,
and it's pub food. Now, Mark, I understand that you
will be renouncing your US citizenship shortly, and that's a joke.
Of course you won't, but I'm expecting you to renounce
your US citizenship because you feel about Ireland the way

(24:20):
I feel about Thailand. You've heard me say, if it
weren't for my kids and grandkids, Kathy and I would
live in Thailand. I could do the show from Thailand.
Although we start at eleven am Mountain time. That's on Saturday.
That's one am Sunday. I'm just getting in from clubbing.

(24:40):
I'm quite a dancer. You ought to see it anyway, Mark,
What is your love of Ireland? I mean, what of
the what grabs you about the Emerald Isle?

Speaker 7 (24:50):
You know, there are so many things. First of all,
I love the people. They are friendly, happy, have great.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Sense of humor. They're just great to be with. I
love traveling with people.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Have you ever seen the Leprecaun.

Speaker 8 (25:02):
I have not.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
I've watched, you know.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
And even though there are perhaps no such thing as
the Epochons, I often say Ireland is magical.

Speaker 6 (25:10):
There is a magical feeling when you get there.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
John Potter's a lepren Okay is it's the point of
your You were gathering the gold at the end of
the rainbow. Okay, back to Ireland. You love the people,
all of the people.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
Then the scenery.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
Ireland's known as the Emerald Isle, and it's got a
unique sea current that surrounds the island that keeps it
so pleasant year round, and it keeps it green. It's
it's green from one side of the island to the
other side of the island. They mow their lawns eleven
months of the year there. And I love the history.
It's Ireland's full of castles. You know, there are over

(25:49):
two hundred thousand castles that have built been built in
Ireland since the sixth century. And now as you go
by all over island you see these most of them
are just piles of rubble now.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
But we I was gonna say, when you talk about
castles as an honorary tall leprecha on yourself. You have
taken groups there for years, for decades, and you have
a I think one of the most unique itineraries I've
ever seen that it's called the Castles of Ireland. September

(26:23):
twenty sixth to October thirty this year introduced us to
this and I know you're going to stay at Dremoland.

Speaker 7 (26:31):
Oh, and one of the great experiences of your travel
life is staying at this beautiful castle.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
I loved taking people in and their jaws drop. It's
like this is a real castle.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Well, you know, so many of what's passed off as
castles in the British Isles everywhere is Lord Fufu's manor.
It's a manor has and they say it's a cast
it's not a cast. A castle has to have turrets,
a torture chamber, which they don't torture people anymore at Dremoland,
And I mean this is a real castle. Take us

(27:03):
through the itinerary, the highlights, and then you'll give us
some more details on Dromola.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
Yeah, very quickly, start in Dublin and see the sights
there and around Dublin, and then we Ireland is not
a big island. We shoot across the island in one day,
from Dublin to Kilarney.

Speaker 6 (27:20):
We stop along the way.

Speaker 7 (27:21):
At Blarney Castle, and two things about it. There's great
shopping there and two there's the Blarney Castle which has
the Blarney Stone, which I know you're very familiar with.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
I was asked one time in an interview.

Speaker 7 (27:35):
Has Larry ever kissed the Blarney Stone, because if you
kiss it, it's reputed to give.

Speaker 6 (27:40):
You the gift of gab, the gift of eloquence. My
reply was, Larry's not only kissed it, he made out.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
I plead guilty to that. So yeah, and that's near Cork,
isn't it.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
Yes, And then across to Clarney, and then we have
the opportunity of going out into the Dingle Peninsula. And
this peninsula juts out into the Atlantic and as you
can picture the wild Atlantic see coming in and breaking
over all the rocks and the coast. It's just a
beautiful day.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
You know, it is pounding waves. You got that win
coming in off the Atlantic. But what's really interesting people
have lived there for over three thousand years and it's
been the setting for numerous movies, including Star Wars Episode eight,
The Last of the Jedi, Far and Away, Ryan's Daughter,

(28:30):
leap Ear's and many many others. I think when you
get there, Mark, if you've seen these movies, you will
recognize them Allay.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
It's so beautiful and that's why so many movies are
made there. And you talked about fish and chips. I've
got a restaurant on Dingle. It has the best fish
and chips in the world.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
I've eaten there. I it absolutely and they don't even John,
you don't even put Printer's ink in. It's still the best.

Speaker 6 (28:54):
Yeah, it's great.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
It's hellfish.

Speaker 7 (28:56):
Then along what's called the Wild Atlantic Seacoast and we
go up to Dremoland.

Speaker 6 (29:00):
We have two nice at Dremoland. You will never.

Speaker 7 (29:03):
Forget your experience of staying at Dremoland Castle. I only
wish we could stay there a week. But it's just
just beautiful.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
And you know what's interesting about Dremoland is. It is
a real castle that's cod have been converted into a
five star over the top resort. But it has enormous
palace grounds. Uh, it's got a championship golf course, falconry,
skeet shooting, uh, archery, horseback riding. I like to take

(29:32):
a bicycle out and do the estate.

Speaker 7 (29:34):
Yeah. And there's great trails and you know, you can
rent a cart and drive drive the estate and it's
just like I said, it's just a wonderful experience.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
All right now, John, here's a I want you to.
We're gonna play stump the dummy with you. Okay, all right, mawedge.
What am I talking about?

Speaker 8 (29:51):
The Princess bry Yes, the Cliffs of More And we
see the Cliffs of More and uh, they're a real
place and they are so spectacular again as the Atlantic
comes and breaks over the coast and these dramatic cliffs.

Speaker 7 (30:03):
You know, I've had groups there and you walk along
the cliffs and you can go right and they have
this fence and wall and protect you go left as
private and people have fallen off they and so I
recommend people don't go left. I had a group a
few years ago. I said, don't go left, go right?
Got back on the bus. How many of you went left?
Nearly all of them went left because I said you shouldn't.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
I've got a phrase for you. I just made it up.
Choose the right. Yeah, okay, when the choice is placed before.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
You, Yes, we'll sing that right before we get off
the coast.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
You know what's interesting is that fence is only a
couple feet high. It's like a little it's not like
a chain link fence.

Speaker 7 (30:41):
Now, did I say one last thing. I've got the
best guy in Ireland that will be with us. I've
had him for years, Michael, and he is just a
fun guy to travel with.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
Knows everything.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Got on September twenty sixth to October third the Castles
of Ireland with the one and only Mark Fauldmow And
this is this is a fantastic iturn because I've been
to all these places. You can check it out at
Morriscolumbus dot com, Morriscolumbus dot com on the group site
Mark thanks for joining us, who you can come back

(31:12):
absolutely thanks to season at Home on the Travel Show.
Welcome back to the Travel Show. I'm Larry Gelwicks, the
Getaway Guru, joined by John Potter, one of our outstanding

(31:33):
travel advisors at Morris Columbus Travel, the sponsor of the show.
Do check out the website Morriscolumbus dot com. How support,
I'm not Carlos, Thank you very much. Do you know
that you can now renew your passport online? The US
State departments rolled out an online passport renewal system after

(31:56):
a pilot program a year and a half ago. Now
to renew online, you've got to be at least twenty
five years old, So John, obviously you don't qualify living
in the United States or a US territory have a
passport that was issued between nine and fifteen years ago,
which means it could be expired because for adults, they're

(32:18):
good for ten years and you have the old passport
with you and applicants must not currently plan to change
their name, gender, date of birth, or place of birth.
And it's very easy. Go to travel dot state dot gov.
It's got all sorts of stuff with that website.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Oh, it does.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Travel dot state dot gov, and then click on get
a US Passport and then click on I'm an adult
renewing online and simply follow the instructions. Now, you know,
next to the Pearls of Asia announcement. I have blockbuster
announcement right here regarding Costco. Should we place ump the

(33:00):
dummy again? Sure? What is the blockbuster Costco?

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Costco announcement They are going to start serving coke now
instead of pepsi.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
I mean this should be Did you get that thunderous
applause yet? Denny? Oh no, no, see, I give you
one assignment Denny his favorite. No, I just overload. Anyway.
Costco has confirmed a month long rumor that they're swapping

(33:32):
out pepsi, which to me no offense, is just carbonated
cough syrup with coke, and they'll bring bringing in coke, coke, zero,
diet coke and sprite. Now. Other good news the hot
dog deal buck and a half for it's like a
foot long almost a hot dog and a drink with

(33:54):
free refills buck and a half. It's an iconic trademark
the Gary Milder Chip. The CFO reassured that the hot quote.
I also want to confirm the dollar fifty hot dog
price is safe in a recent quarterly earnings.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Now, Larry, I know you don't believe this, but the
diet hope does not take the calories out of the
hot dog.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Oh I like it with you know what they're not
serving as the chopped onions there. You gotta have a
dog with onions. Oh yeah, and maybe I should start
bringing my own chili or cheese. You know what you
can do is take the hot dog and you know
how they give out all the free samples at Costco
and those little cups just going when the servant chili
or cheese start dumping it.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
On your podcast, I can see you doing it.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Oh my goodness, Well listen. I I don't know anybody
who knows Disney all things Disney better than you were
just on the new Disney ship last month. Give us
a Disneyland update.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
All right, Disneyland is offering a deal up their good
neighbor properties, which does not happen very often neighbor property.
A good neighbor property means a hotel that is not
on Disney property but nearby.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
Like a friendly hotel.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Yeah uh huh, so you know across the street or
a mile or two away, and you can save up
to twenty percent on select good neighbor Hotel. Excuse me,
I got that wrong. I got that wrong. Book Three
Nights Select Disney Line Good Neighbor Hotels and receive the
fourth night free, so that's a good deal with their

(35:34):
good Neighbor hotel. Disney Cruise Line starting today is starting
another program that they've had in the past. It's called
Dine and Play. It's mainly for the kids on Disney
Cruise ships.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Perfect for you.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Then, yes, they can gobble down their food and then
the staff at the Ocean Ocean Club Ocean air Club
will take them to the Kids program and let the
parents have the rest of their dinner in peace. It's
only available on the eight pm dining but it's a
great option. Starting today on the brand new Disney Treasure

(36:12):
and the Disney Dream, tomorrow on the Disney Fantasy and
Disney Magic, and on Monday on the Disney Wonder and
Disney Wish. So that's a good deal for them. And
I sailed on the Disney Treasure last month over Christmas
and it was an amazing ship. Well, they've got the
Haunted Mansion lounge and you go in there and you

(36:34):
feel like you're in the Haunted Mansion. It is awesome.
My only criticism of the ship is the public spaces
like the lounges have very limited seating and so it
fills up quickly. But it was a fabulous ship. We
got into some real rough waves and you hardly noticed
on the ship. With these new technologies and the stabilizers,

(36:54):
it felt very smooth and it was just a great experience.

Speaker 9 (36:57):
You know.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Some years ago, John, I got a phone call I
may have told you this from a young man and
he said they were planning a their honeymoon and they
wanted to go on a cruise. What cruise line did
I recommend? I said, how old you use? Twenty three?
First marriage? Yeah, healthy young man? Yeah, yeah, yeah, And
I said I recommend Disney Cruise Line. And there's this
long pause on the air. He said, well, this is

(37:21):
our honeymoon, aren't there like thousands of kids running around
on the ship. And I said, exactly, It'll be the
best form of birth control you could possibly imagine on
your honeymoon. Oh great.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
I don't know if he took my advice, but yeah,
great experience. And nobody does entertainment like Disney. There shows
are way above the others.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Hey, well listen, stay tuned for our number two of
the travel show. We're going to be talking about a
spring break escape cruise. Custom and manners all over the
world and John's Paris d Day and Normandy cruise here
on the Travel Show. Welcome back to our number two

(38:06):
of the Travel Show. I'm Larry Gelwicks, that get away Guru,
joined today by my friend and colleague John Potter, travel
Advisor Extraordinary with Morris Columbus Travel. Hey, we'd love to
hear from you here on the show. Your suggestions, recommendations,
your experience, your questions, and you could play stump the

(38:28):
dummy with John about all things Disney. I only got
you once.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Yes, what was that?

Speaker 1 (38:35):
I asked you?

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Do you remember what cut stands for?

Speaker 10 (38:37):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (38:38):
And you you'd had a brain freeze? Because you know what.
I know what it stands for, brain freeze. That's my
one victory. So it's it's Gelwick's one Potter one hundred
and fifty points. We'd love to have you join us
on the road. Give us a call. Triple eight five
sevenh eight oh one Oh that's Triple eight five seventy

(38:59):
eighty ten. And again, what has been your experience? What
have you enjoyed? What did you think of the Utah
Travel Expo? What questions do you have? John? Yeah, I
found you know there's two ways. There's really two ways
to find have a deal. One you find it, one
you create it. And so I found a deal. We

(39:20):
talked earlier about Pearls of Asia April of next year.
I'll give you some more details. By the way, you
have to book Pearls of Asia by this Friday, February seventh,
because the space I don't think the space will be there.
The ship is basically sold out except the group of Space.
But tell me your thoughts on this one. I call
it the spring Break Escape Cruise. It's great for couples, singles,

(39:45):
fantastic for families. In fact, Kathy and I gave this
cruise to our adult our five adult married children, and
all of our grandkids. We're going to have because I've
never seen a deal like this, and you're adopting me, right,
So yeah, yes, yes, yes, my son. Anyway, it's April

(40:07):
six to ten, five days. That's a Monday through Friday
of next year, twenty twenty six. Now, for most, not all,
but for most of the Utah school districts. In southern
Idaho school districts, that week Monday through Friday, April six
to ten next year is their Spring Break so they

(40:27):
missed no school, no school on that And this is
a five day cruise, five days, four nights. On Monday
we board the ship in Los Angeles at the Port
of La Tuesday we're in Catalina Island. I love Catalina
Islands Island. It's like a mix of Santa Monica, Santa Barbara,

(40:51):
and Newport Beach Santa Cruz all rolled into one. It's
a beautiful beach, sandy beach there, and they have that
tip of cold boardwalk. You think you're in Santa Monica,
Santa Cruz and viewing the beautiful Wrigley mansion up on
the hehod Oh yes, yes, I'm thinking of buying it.
Then on Wednesday is a full day scene. I got

(41:12):
to tell you, I love the days at six And
on Thursday we visit Mexico. You do not need a
passport for this one. No, you do need proof of citizenship.
We can talk about that later. And then on Friday
we return to La So you have a Monday to
Friday five day cruise, five calendar days, and then you
have the weekends to go to Disneyland, go to of course,

(41:35):
go to Disneyland. I'm both thank you very much. John. Now,
the thing is, I've never seen prices like that. Now,
all prices and promotions anything we mentioned any day today
and every show is subject to change and availability at
the time of booking. Let me give you the price.

(41:56):
Let's say two adults, two kids, and of course this
with Royal Care being on Navigator of the Seas, they
define a child as twelve and under. Okay for two adults,
two kids sharing a room, an interior cabin. You got
your seatbelt on good three and fifty six dollars per person,
including all taxes, all fees.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Just to pay your opportuities three.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Hundred and fifty. You know, here's what we did. Kathy
and I got a balcony. We said to other kids,
will give you an inside cabin. We're thinking, you know,
maybe right across the hallway or something. If you want
to upgrade, which they're doing, you do that on yourself,
but we'll provide the cabin. You pay the gratuities and
you get yourself there. And you know what's nice about

(42:43):
the Port of La or San Pedro is you can
literally there's a private parking lot literally next to the ship. Yeah,
you get out, grab your suitcase, take a few steps
and you board the ship, so it's easy to drive down.
So you can also stop at Anaheim. Yes, anyway, for
two adults, two kids inside three hundred and fifty six dollars,

(43:06):
ocean View for twenty, balcony for seventy seven, a Sweet
six ninety nine. Now that's for a family of four
starting at three hundred and fifty six dollars. How about
just two of you all right inside cabin. Now this
is two adults, including all tax and fees three ninety nine,
ocean View four eleven. Well for twelve bucks more you

(43:29):
get a window. Don't do the inside twelve bucks score,
you got a window, a balcony for eighty three. Do
the balconies, well, forget the ocean view. Do the balcony.
And then a suite a sweet. It's called the John
Potter suite is just seven fifty eight. So again that now,
these prices are going to change like anything else. You know,

(43:52):
as a plane fills up, the prices go up, As
a hotel fills up, prices go up as anything happens.
Prices are not static, they don't remain. These are gonna
go when you can take your family, your kids for
three hundred and fifty six dollars for a five day
cruise April six to ten, twenty twenty six, on one

(44:15):
of my favorite ships, Navigator of the Seas, which was
refurbished just a few years ago.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
They've got a fun water slide on that that I've
seen that I have gone.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
It is Fantasio. Two years ago. I had a group
on board the Navigator and my daughter Sarah, her son Oscar,
and his cousin, my grandson Milo, Jenny's son, you know Jenny,
and you know you know Milo. Yeah, we had a
group of one hundred and six on board, and Milo

(44:45):
and Oscar loved the kids program. Now they were seven
years old at the time. They're nine now. They love
the water park and they loved all the ice cream
they could eat. Spring Break Escape cruise April six to
ten next year. Rate start for a family of four
at three hundred and fifty six dollars. What do you

(45:06):
think of the new Salt Lake Airport been open a
couple of years.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
It's nice. When I was here the last time, I
didn't have a flight out of Terminal two, but I
had to walk through the Ocean tunnel or the River
tunnel just to see what it.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Was like better than the old one.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
It is and a so much closer shorter walk.

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Well, for the second year in the row, Salt Lake
City International Airport has broken its passenger record. In twenty
twenty three, they serviced about twenty five and a half
million passengers coming, some that originated in Salt Lake or
passing through. But last year twenty twenty four, that jumped

(45:42):
an additional three million people, approximately twenty eight and a
half million people passing through Salt Lake City International Airport. Now,
what's interesting. I have a sky Club membership. So Delta
has announced they're going to date to be determined a
second sky club in Terminal B.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
I think they need to because it's a big You
always see people in line to get in.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Yeah, it's a lot of people. It's overcrished. United Airlines
has also announced date to be determined to build a
United Airlines lounge in Terminal B where all of their
flights come and go. What I'm hoping that will mean
is increased United Airlines frequencies of flights on their system

(46:30):
out YEA and new destinations.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
Yeah, that's a great airport. I love that the pricing
at the restaurants is the same as you get on
the street pricing.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
That's why we don't have McDonald's out there is McDonald's
street pricing means, as you said, like Cafe Reel, what
you pay for their enchilada or burrito downtown, you pay
for that. You pay that at the airport. It's not
jacked up.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
I don't have by that ten dollar bottle of water.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Yes, thank you very much. Hey, you know what I
love about travel is meeting people different cultures, cuisines, customs
and manners. Here is a couple of fun ones in
the Sub Sahara, Africa. I think i'd like you to
maybe pick up You need more international culture to say hello,

(47:24):
you spit at them. I am going to say hello
to John, I'll spit at you. Yeah. A father will
also spit on his daughter when she marries to bring
good luck. That's an interesting one. Now. I know that
you often belch after a meal, John, Well, yeah, I
mean yeah, lot. It's a compliment to the chef. In

(47:52):
Saudi Arabia, China and other Asian countries. It means if
you give just a little polite burp, it means you
enjoyed the meal. Now, also, if you have like soup
or hot noodles. If you slurp them in China, Japan

(48:12):
and other ones, it means you really enjoy the food.
Now here's one I want you and I've been friends
for what twenty five years or so, I want you
to say, hey, when we go visit Ghana together, I
want you, Hey, Larry, let's catch some drinks together. Because
if you say that means you have to pay for them. Oh,

(48:34):
if you say let's go get a meal, that means
you're gonna pay for it.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
I'll pay for all your alcohol.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
Larry, Thank you very very much.

Speaker 11 (48:41):
Hey, we come back, We're gonna be saving with Viking cruisers.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Welcome back to the Travel Show. I'm Larry Gelwick's the
one Away Guru, joined today in studio by one of
our wonderful travel advisors, John Potter, who works in the
Bountiful office. Now you can talk to any of our
travel advisors by calling eight hundred triple nine forty six
forty six eight hundred triple nine forty six forty six

(49:20):
or each of our travel advisors has a direct line
and if you have that, call the direct lines you'd
like to speak to John Potter eight oh one four
eight three fifty two fourteen. That's eight oh one four
eight three fifty two eighteen. Joteen fourteen fifty two fourteen. John,

(49:40):
we have one of our favorite people, yeah, joining us
on the on the Travel Show, Reiner Marx, director of
business development for Viking Cruises, which of course is both
ocean and river cruises. Reiner, welcome back to the Travel Show.
Thank you so much for having me. Larry, thank you, well.
It was nice visiting with you last week at the

(50:02):
Utah Travel Expo. How did the Travel Expo treat you?

Speaker 2 (50:06):
It was fantastic.

Speaker 10 (50:08):
I mean, we had some wonderful people that we met
that we talked a lot about travel, a lot of
dreams I think have come through since then. We saw
a lot of people booking their cruises there and in
the following days, so overall it was a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
We had a great time. It is now. You had
a promotion at the Travel Expo which was an exclusive
promotion to the Utah Travel X. Well, and please correct
me if I get this wrong, was up to a
one hundred dollars on board credit, which is like free
money to spend on board per person if one booked

(50:47):
that cruise ocean or river. No later than Tuesday, February fourth.
Did I get that right? You absolutely do. Yes, that
is correct. A lot of people taking advantage of it. Oh,
it's just free money. Well, what are some other current
Viking promotions now to actually start today? It's called the

(51:10):
Explorer Sale.

Speaker 10 (51:11):
And as you know, most cruise company and travel companies
put their best foot forward in these first three months
of the year, and ours is called the Explorer Sale.
We have discounted airfare up to free round trip air
on rivers and oceans, and it's only for a low
deposit of twenty five dollars per person.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Yeah, on that airfare as I've seen your and that's
a fantastic promotion that it depends on the cruise. It's
either free airfare or heavily discounted airfare. Is that correct,
that's correct, that's absolutely right. Now, you've got some new
ships in Egypt. I've sailed, I've done groups to Egypt

(51:51):
with a Nile cruise involved in a land package. Tell
me what's going on in Egypt with Viking cruises.

Speaker 10 (51:58):
Right, it's becoming a very very big market for us.
A lot of interest in Egypt. So we have four
ships currently in Egypt, and they're small ships there. Our
smaller one is fifty two passengers, the other three of
eighty two passengers, and we just recently ordered two more
ships to really fulfill the demand.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Right.

Speaker 10 (52:18):
And it's a beautiful cruise that starts in Cairo with
three nights. In Cairo, you see the new Museum of Antiquities,
which is absolutely incredible, right, And you actually told me
that they added a lot of new artifacts that were
not shown in the older museum. And then it becomes

(52:38):
go ahead, right.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
I was going to say the Egyptian National Museum, the
older one, which you know downtown, they've got that new
I think it's out in their Giza, the new museum.
And in addition to everything they've had on display, they
were limited by space, but that's made it bigger and
they have added thirty thousand and new items to their

(53:05):
current displays. You know, Ryan, is something you and I
were chatting at the expo and I made the comment,
I've been to one hundred and fifteen countries. I'm a
hopeless travel junker, and I've loved every place that I've gone.
But if I want white sand beaches, I've got a
lot of choices. If I want alpine splendor, I've got

(53:28):
a lot of choices. If I want river cruises, understanding
each place is a little different, I've got a lot
of river cruise and ocean cruise choices. But there is
nothing in the world that replicates Egypt. You can't do
it anywhere else. And you know, I looked at your
itinerary and I'd like you to comment on it. What

(53:50):
is included in a Viking cruise Egypt experience.

Speaker 6 (53:57):
It's your daily short excursion.

Speaker 10 (53:59):
And what th really remarkable if you know, besides all
the food on board the daily short excursion, you know
the water and you know those kinds of things that
you need for excursion in the cabin. All of that
goes included.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
The entertainment is included, but it's.

Speaker 10 (54:14):
The docking locations, Larry, if you remember when you're docking
along the river and that's where these temples are, you're
literally docking a stone throw away from those amazing sites,
those incredible antiquities.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
We're speaking with Reiner Marks, director of business development with
Viking Cruises, and we have about two minutes left. Reiner,
I'd like you to talk about the quiet season in
the med or mediterraning. We think of summer and maybe
a May or September right on the shoulder of summertime.

(54:49):
But the quiet season offers incredible discounts and unhurried, uncrowded venues.
That's absolutely true.

Speaker 10 (54:58):
You know, you don't have this peak season congestion as
we call it, right when everybody's going. There's no children,
no casinos on our ships, no nickel and diming. And
on top of that, it's a very comfortable pace in
those amazing cities that you know, kind of feel in
the summer is a little a little bit you know,
full and you wait a little bit of time in

(55:20):
these in these cities, thinking of Rome, thinking of Pisa
and whatnot. But it's also the mild climate. You know,
it gets pretty toasty, and you know in Athens or
in the Greek aisles it can get pretty warm. This
this time of year is the best time to go,
right and that's what Viking put a lot of ships

(55:40):
into the Quiet Mediterranean that invite you to come, invite
you to enjoy what we.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
Call the Quiet Mediterranean. You know the question, there's many
different cruise opportunities in Europe. You also sail in Africa
and Asia, but I'm often asked, and we've got about
thirty seconds, which is best the Danube or the Rhine.
I can't answer that question.

Speaker 10 (56:06):
That's what That's a tough one. What I like to
tell people if the Rhine is a little bit busier. Right,
you have four countries in eight days, you have a
lot of activities, sometimes two ports a day, where the.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
Daniel is a little bit what we able to do well.
Thank you, Ryiner Mars, Director of Business Development Viking Cruiss.
Thank you for joining us and.

Speaker 9 (56:28):
More when we come back. Welcome back to.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
The Travel show and I'm ready to go on a
Viking cruise. John's I'm Mary Gelwiz, the Getaway Duru, joined
today in studio by John Potter, Travel Advisor in the
Bountiful office of Morris Columbus Travel. John, you were telling
me before the show started that you've been getting a
lot of calls about a cruise tour that I'll be

(56:59):
hosting next down Under to Australia, New Zealand.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
Yes, yes, I've had several calls and almost everybody i'm
talking to her booking it. So it's a it's a
good deal, it really is.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
It's with Holland America, which is a premium line. They
do such a good job. And my wife Kathy and
I'll be hosting. Now this is next year, February fifteen
to March first. We will have a pre cruise Sydney,
Australia option otherwise I mean you can fly down then
just go straight to the ship that you don't see Sydney.

(57:31):
Oh you need to see the Blue mountains and all
of that. And then a post cruise where we disembark
in Auckland, New Zealand on March the first and again,
or you go straight to the airport and fly home.
Catch this itinerary we bored in Sydney. We'll have different
days at sea in between some of this. We will

(57:54):
visit Sydney, Melbourne, Australia, down to the island of Tasmania.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
We're going to look for the Devil devel down there.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
And then the North and South Island of New Zealand.
Now this is Lord of the Rings country, it really is.
Then disembark March first in Auckland, New Zealand again twenty
twenty six. Remember cruise prices don't remain the same. They
don't remain static. Nothing in life does. We're a year

(58:23):
out and the prices are fantastic. We have group rates
and give Morris Columbus a call if you want to
talk to John eight oh one four eight three fifty
two fourteen. If you have the direct line of any
other advisor, call that advisor on the direct line, or
if you don't yet have your own personal Morris Columbus

(58:46):
travel advisor, call one eight hundred triple nine forty six
forty six one eight hundred triple nine forty six forty six. Now, John,
I want to say this politely to you. Okay, I'm
that'll be a first. You've disappointed me in a big way.

(59:07):
Uh oh, you really have. You know I've tried to
mentor you and be a friend to you, and then
you pull this stunt on me. Because what if I
told you your job.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
Is to make money so you can travel.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Exactly, you are to stay home and work so I
can travel. And what do you do You plan a
group that you'll be hosting to one of the greatest
river cruise itineries you scooped me on this.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
I did, oh, and I'm just grinning about it.

Speaker 1 (59:38):
Wait till you show up Monday and all your stuff
is in boxes on the sidewalk.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
There's the door.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
Now, seriously, I'm so glad you did this. As Paris
to Normandy River cruise next year twenty twenty six August
twenty sixth to September fifth, we have that free Paris stay.
Introduce us to the itinerary and the free land program.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Yes, we're gonna take advantage of the Alma Waterways free
land excursions.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
So so you're saying you're going to take advantage.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
We're going to take advantage of We're gonna fly into
Paris and have two nights in Paris that will include
your hotel, the transfers and excursions free. If you miss.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
I hope you take that NonStop flight.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
That's plan.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
That's the only way to go. Okay, you got you
got a couple of days in Paris, beautiful hotel, breakfast daily,
the sight seeing and transfer to the ship.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Right then we're going to board the Alma Dante and
we are going to go. And my French is bad,
so I'll probably pronounce these names wrong. Let's end a
lace that's the home of Monet's Garden.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Yes, money a very famous artist.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Yes. Then Lahore and that's where we head to go
to Normandy and the landing beaches and the cemetery cemetery.

Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
The cemetery will move you to tears, mostly young man,
many teenage boys who are buried there. And then of
course then you mentioned the D Day landing. You know
what I like to do is I go on YouTube
and I'm gonna visit Normandy and I can go watch

(01:01:27):
actual video from the landing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Yeah, I did that before I went, when I was
there before. And I can picture the soldiers climbing those steep.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Lifts, unbelievable. After LaHave, Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
My gosh, rowan medieval city where Joan of Arc was tried.
Just so much history here, Vernon one of the latest
rem and remains of the Celtic Mangus. And then back
to Paris, overnighting in the ship in Paris, will have
one more night in Paris?

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
And Danny, do we have that drum roll yet? Denny, Denny,
I give you one thing to do. Denny is our
crack producer, not our producer on crack. Yeah, because maybe
even for you Potter.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Overshadowing the cruise is what are you going to do
after the cruise?

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
An optional post cruise experience at Disneyland Paris. Who would
have thought, Yes, I did this when I was there before.
And honestly I love Disneyland Paris, but Normandy was the
bigger drop for me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Yes, all right, Paris to Normandy River Cruise with Alma
Waterways a deluxe, over the top experience. The free pre
cruise Parish and John will be an outstanding I didn't
know they allowed dogs.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
On board, of course, the service dogs, and I'll be
at everyone's service.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
Thank you very much. Where do we find information.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Morriscolumbus dot com. You go to where it says find
travel on the top of the page. Click there and
it'll say Morris Columbus Departures, not the escorted groups, but
Columbus departures and it's right there, first one listed, or call.

Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
John Direct eight oh one four eight three fifty two fourteen,
or if you already have a favorite Morris Columbus travel advisor,
talk to him or her.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Yep, they can book it for you as well.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
Very very good. Hey, listen, we're coming down to the end. John.
What has been the response to the Pearls of Asia
that I'll be hosting next year.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
It's got to the point that I have the dates memorized.
I put it in so many times. It is close
to selling out, it really is. The inside cabins are
sold out. We still have a few ocean view on
a few balcony, but you have to book it by Friday.
But trust me, it'll be long sold out by Friday.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
I could almost count the remaining outside of our We
had a group booking that actually Royal Caribbean said they
wanted to take away from us. Yes, and we put
up such a stink they said, okay, you can keep
it till February seventh.

Speaker 10 (01:03:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:59):
Because the prices are so different, I mean, you almost
save the amount of your cruise fair. I'm going to
run through the itiner. But the big thing is we
have now as of clothes yesterday, no insides. We have
eleven ocean view that's a window and four balcony. Now

(01:04:23):
they're on what's called a guarantee. This is what cruise
lines are doing to get the best price. They say,
we guarantee you a balcony, we guarantee you an ocean view,
but they will assign the actual cabin, like all right,
you're on deck fourteen, cabin one, two three, rather than
you picking it if you want to double the price,

(01:04:44):
you can pick your cabin. Yeah, but here's here's the itiner.
It's now, it's April seventeenth and May first. Remember you
have to book it by Friday. But John, I'm telling
you there will be nothing left by Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
If there's anything there by Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Correct April seventeen to May first, twenty twenty six next year.
Kathy and I will be your personal tour hosts on that.
It's a two week cruise fourteen nights. And here's where
we visit Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and four

(01:05:20):
stops in Japan, including Nagasaki. We do our own shore
excursions in all of these ports where we see more,
do more at a better price, and included in seeing
all the wonderful things. In Nagasaki, it's a very sobering
to visit the museum and you can stand on ground
zero of where the second atomic bomb was dropped that

(01:05:43):
ended World War two. Kobe, which is the gateway to
kilto the ancient capital, the Golden Pavilion and Temple after
Temple after Temple, Shimizu which is Mount Fuji, and the
Japanese Alps and then to Yokohama and Tokyo. We will
offer a pre cruise Singapore option, spend a couple of

(01:06:05):
days there. Now, if you want to just go straight
to the ship, you can do it, but why not
see it? Singapore is a beautiful city, and we'll have
a post cruise a few days there in Tokyo.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
To go to Tokyo Disneyland.

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
Of course, of course I've been to Tokyo.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
I haven't A couple of times, yes, I have not.
I got to get there.

Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
So again, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, four stops
in Japan. If you've ever dreamed of visiting or revisiting Asia,
I've never seen an itinerary like this before.

Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
That's a great itinerary and that fabulous price.

Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
Yet, now as far as airfare, you're getting questions. Airlines
publish schedules and fairs eleven months in advance, so you
have to look at eleven months past your return date.
Our cruise tour, just a cruise is April seventeen to
May first, so early June of this year we'll have
discount airface. But let's get to the important stuff. I want.

(01:07:04):
I want to tell you the price if you buy
it direct, and I mean I talked to Jenny two
Jay the business development. She says, there's hardly anything left.
That's why they want our inventory back and they're not
going to get it. Yeah, for an ocean view cabin,
you buy direct for this two week cruise direct from

(01:07:28):
Royal Caribbean thirty four to sixty eight. Now, these prices
are per person, double occupancy, including all tax and fees
as of today and everything subject to change the Morris
Columbus Group. Right now, buy it direct from Royal. I'm
going to round it to the nearest one hundred dollars
thirty five hundred bucks you pay for the very same

(01:07:51):
cabin on a guarantee Morris is twenty three hundred dollars. Well,
that's the savings of a out twelve hundred dollars per
person twenty four hundred dollars per couple for the same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
That's a good deal.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Now, for a balcony cabin, again rounded to the nearest
hundred forty one hundred dollars if you buy it directly
from Royal Caribbean by the Morris Columbus Group rate twenty
eight hundred bucks. So what you've got is a savings

(01:08:30):
of about thirteen hundred dollars or twenty six hundred dollars
per couple. Now we have eleven ocean views left. The
insides are all gone. Ocean view with a window or porthole.
The balcony we have four balconies, are on a guarantee basis.
You got to call Monday. Call your favorite travel advisor

(01:08:52):
at Morris Columbus Travel. Folks, I'll mention this again. It's
just my closing in the next segment. But I've never
seen an itineria like this before. I may never see
it again. It's a one time They're not doing this
every two weeks. This is a one time, one time
only with our price is saving you thousands of dollars

(01:09:16):
available This week we come back. We're headed to jolly
old Hawaii and Mexico.
