Weeks there, I was in Kansas. I came home to
get some laundry, gets the wife and I was back
out to Minnesota and we did the the well that
was actually a very good game. Buffalo was was really good.
Buffalo played them tough. And they've got a great freshman
quarterback from Arkansas name Drake Lindsay. You want to keep
your eye on this kid. He is a future Heisman Canada.

I would just say this year. But man, he's got
all the tools. He's about six six, about two forty
and has an arm is a you know, big league
you know, a ball placement like Troy Aikman kind of rifle,
you know, I mean, it's it's really good. I was
impressed by him. And Minnesota's gonna be pretty good. Keep

an eye on them. They are gonna shake it up.
They'll they'll upset somebody that that's really good in the
Big Ten this year that maybe has their eyes on
the playoffs. So that was Thursday and I went down
to Iowa stake. So had they blew out South Dakota,
who's an FCS power you know, is always in the playoffs.

I think they were knocked out by North Dakota State
and the SEMIS last year and they beat them bad,
beat them fifty eight to seven. I think it was
so we had that. That was on right after the
sexon Ohio. Second, if you could have just hung around
Fox for maybe a quarter after that game, you might

Well, that's a leading question. I don't I've never seen

boor is, it's not like you just fell off a
turnip truck when he got to the State of Alabama
and does not to coach. He does know how to coach,
all right, But Alabama was never gonna be all that
this year the hype train. Did you guys might see

my preseason of stop fifteen. Did we not talk about
this that Alabama? I mean I barely had them in
the top fifteen. I did not have them in the playoffs.
I think I ranked them thirteenth in my preseason top fifteen. Okay,
I barely had them ranked in my top fifteen. So

and there's the Florida sick people today there upset was
because I don't have Florida State in my top fifteen,
even though they beat Alabama, and they think, oh, like
we beat Alabama, we ought to Vienna. No, if that
was a good win. I think the Costellanos kid was
incredible as one of the great stories of the first week.
But I just don't think Alabama is all that. You know,

people are talking about effort, and you know already it's
kind of like Florida State gets no credit. Alabama is
so invincible Okay in the minds of punditry in this country, Okay,
long after Nick Staven's gone that that that you should
storm the field when you beat them, even though they're

not that good. And they're not that good, Okay, Simpson
is not. No Row was never the quarterback that everyone
thought he was gonna be, and this kid that's quarterbacking
now had failed to impress based on all of the
people I've talked to that I trust in football, while

everyone in Alabama is saying, oh, no, we got it together.
Now this team, Ryan Grubb has come in, the offensive
coordinator that worked in the NFL and didn't come with
the boar last year. Now these two are together and
they're gonna make magic because no Row was not the
kind of quarterback that they're accustomed to. This kid's a
lot more like Michael Fennick, who they had it you dub,
who got him to the title game. No, they're not

there yet, Okay, but there is a level of privilege
that they are afforded by not just their fan base
but also the media. Okay that will make excuses for
them ad nauseum, because by god, they're Alabama, they should

be better. I mean they got whipped, they got taken
into the woodshed, and Mike Dorgel's team won two games
last year. Two. Now that I have Florida State on
my radar as being a top fifteen team, though I
barely had Alabama there because I thought, you know, maybe

it's fairly supposed to Alabama. I mean, I don't want
rowdy Alabama fans to really know where I live, so
I put them for two. Okay, so but but but
Kaylan de Boor, the evolution of his team could begin

by the way, last time Alabama would sub five hundred,
here's a little nugget for you. Last time Alabama was
sub five hundred was the season of two thousand and
seven when they made it to the Independence goal in
my hometown at six and six and lost the Independence

Goowl game to finish sixth and seven. And then Steven
took over his cousin and that next year when he
was coaching in the seven season, Ulm went in and
beat them. In Knick's first year, he just can't get
over that. He still mentions that, And now they're going

in there to play a game. And by the way,
they won't roll over.

I mean, they're out man.

Big time, and we would expect Alabama to you know,
score seventy on them. But trust me what I tell you,
Brian Vincent's a good coach and ULM won't roll over.
They'll play as hard as they can this week. That's
where I went to school, by the way, So I'm

But the reality is Kaylin de bor is a really

good coach at a place that wants its coach to
be an authoritarian who wants their coach to grab players
by the face mask on the sideline and just go
off on them, which is what Nick Saban did that
Kaylen de Boor would never do. And when they don't
see an animated coach who is just absolutely undressing players

when they're not playing at the highest level, that that
really pisses off that Sandy big time. They expect more,
and so I don't know that the personality of Kaylen
de Boor would ever allow for that. He is a
really laid back, solid good guy that really does know

how to coach, but this job is so different. When
he was coaching, you know, in Sioux Falls, at the
Division three and even at Washington, Okay, in Seattle where
you know, the team was really good, Michael Pennix was great.
They're going to a national title game. But you know,
more people in Seattle are wondering, you know where the

Grateful Dead might be playing as opposed to win udub
is playing a home game. Okay, there was no pressure there,
no pressure at you do. He is now in the
fish bowl of all fish bowl. So I don't know
how long this is going to last. But at seventy
million for a buyout, to answer your question, I don't
see them getting rid of him anytime soon. I really don't.

And who would want that job? By the way, Lane
Kiffin doesn't. They passed on him and guys now can
make just as much money at Ole miss or Mississippi
State as they can at Alabama without the pressure. So listen,
this is not going to be easy for the Bammers
to deal with. Okay, because they feel that they are anointed,

that they are guaranteed a playoff spot every year, They're
not going to get there this year.

Uh? Well, I thought Sarkusian got his is coaching doors
blown off by Matt Patrician, the defensive coordinator that worked
for Yeah. I mean, all you have to do is
look at the tape and you can see that the
secondary was even. And that's the thing that's amazing. People
were saying, I think you guys might have said when

I had Ohio state number one, they have to replace
fourteen starters. They had seventeen guys go to the NFL,
and I'm like, yeah, but the other guys can play,
and they're all four stars and five stars. They played
some they just didn't start. So he had talent to
work with and fellas, he had all off season, all
summer long to prepare for this one game against a

player that's only had two starts. Now, look, arch is
not a freshman by any stretch. He's been there for
three years. You would have thought that Steve Sarksan as
great a play caller as he is and a guy
that call plays in the NFL with Atlanta Falcons, as
well as for Nick Saban with the national championships that

they got at Alabama. He did not make any adjustments
to what was going on, and Arch was looking out
there and nobody's open. I mean, they're clevered up the
whole game. So I blamed Stark a hell of a
lot more than I do Arch Manning. Now, when you
are that screwed up memory, it does affect your mechanics,

and he did have poor mechanics when he missed open receivers.
His first past was an open receiver and he missed it.
So it's not all on Sarkisian, but a lot of
it's got to be. But you know, when you have
that Manning name and when you're playing in a game
like this one, and listen, this is another example of

why we don't need preseason polls, okay, because it's all
based on what who's returning and who came back from
last year and what the team was like a year ago.
And I mean, Ohio State is still the better program,
and it's due in large measure because the head coach,
Ryan Day has been at the controls or of that

offense and at controls of the program since way back
when Urban was there. Arksian's team is is still going
to be a playoff team, and I think that's might
very well win the SEC. But I'm not at all
shocked that they lost that game. I was a little
shocked that Starkesian's offense was that poorous throughout the game.

And by the way, Ohio State did not play great.
I mean, the only difference between Julian Sayan and Archie
arch Manning is that he didn't turn it over. Was terrific,
but he didn't have to be, you know, not with
that defense and uh and not with the receivers and
the running backs that that they have. So but yeah,

the memes and the crazy blank that's always there whenever
we're talking about a Manning. That was Yeah, a lot
of people were over the top on that. Without question, I.

Think a guy a lot of the NFL scouts are
going to start really paying attention to the kid from
LSU or I shouldn't say kid, because he's one of
the senior quarterbacks in the country four years senior Garrett Neussemier.
Just your breakdown on him, takes care of the ball
and a big win. I think one of the bigger
wins in the weekend was LSU at Clemson.

Yeah, the combination of nus Meyer's maturation and he was
better than Kay Clubneck And I think I told you guys,
I thought Clubnick was was a better quarterback than u
s Meyer. Uh. And club Nick could not deal with
LSU's defense. The defensive coordinator for l s U is
like through, you know, the coordinator of the week other

than maybe Matt Patricia, He's the next guy Black Blake, Blake,
That's that's that defense was incredible. And Harold Perkins on
the final play, Uh, you know, showed that speed and
quickness to take away you know, another opportunity to Clemson
ad at the end of that game. But Nussmeyer is
the good and you know I've bolted them this week

all the way after number two. I thought that was
the most impressive U road victory by any team this
past week without questions. You know, you go on the
road to play Clemson. Uh. And on top of that,
Brian Kelly had a lot of heat on him to
win an opening game. You know, it'd been five years

going back to Orgeron since Kelly, She's won their opener, right,
and he was zero and three as a head coach.
So and lost really to a USC team that went
nowhere last year. Think about it. So and LSU had
a much better season, winning Can one again. But nut
smile was fantastic and I think he's got very much

a leg up now if they can continue to win
and improve. His receiving corps is new. You know, they
lost a lot of kids, including the Kyl and Lacy kids,
who unfortunately took his own life after having some issues
with the law in the off season. And he worked
with his new receivers really well. Unless you turned the

ball over a couple of times in the first half,
that game could have gotten away from them, and their
defense saved them. But Nessmeyer was money in the second half,
made big pass after big pass. And listen, how bad
would it have been for the SEC if Clemson had
beaten LSU after what had happened to Texas in Columbus
and to Alabama and Tallahafse. Okay, it would have been.

They would have been at the Birmingham office. They would
have had the trumpetier going with pat On.

know my fifteen year old daughter and about a half
a dozen of her friends. We had taken them to

Well, then you remember that call that he got from Johnson,

America and all of golf was really with Keegan having

easily called his own number and no one would have
set a thing. I mean, he could have easily called

But to know Kegan Bradley to have spent a little
time and I wish, you know, we talked about this

my moments at major championships, at the Masters, in the
US Open, and I've been in Keegan's myths. He's such
a good dude. I mean, such a good dude, and
in his heart of hearts, I think he looked out
there and he said, man, if I'm taking a spot
away from a guy like Sam Burns who got royally

screwed at the US Open with a ruling that should
have gone his way and didn't when he's leading the tournament,
you know, after an absolute monsoon had hit Okay, and
then to see how well Sam had played down the
stretch to improve his stature and to move up to

the FedEx points and to get to a point where
he legitimately had earned it, Okay had earned the right
to be a captain's pick. For him to do that,
I mean, Sam Burns is not of Keegan's generation at all. Okay,
Sam's Sam's in there with Scheffler and you know all

those young guys, justin Thomas, you know, he's a contemporary
of theirs, not Kegan, right. I mean, Keegan is an
older veteran who's whose buddies are you know, a little
older than those guys. But he did the right thing
that a captain would you know, would then should do
in that situation. So it speaks so highly of his humility,

but also his leadership skills. Okay, and I listen, it's
one thing to automatically make the team based on performance,
which Burns did last time. Okay, nobody puts better on
tour than his kids. Okay, he is a multi major
champion in winning, he still hasn't had that moment yet.

Could have happened that the US Open didn't have some
bad breaks, and listen, the guy that won, I think
completed about seventy feet of puts with Birdie's last two
holes to win it, so he may even without that. Letally,
he may not have won the US Open this year.
But what Hegan did was just the absolute right thing

Division three and even at Washington, Okay, in Seattle where
you know, the team was really good, Michael Pennix was great.
They're going to a national title game. But you know,
more people in Seattle are wondering, you know where the

is playing a home game. Okay, there was no pressure there,
no pressure at you do. He is now in the
fish bowl of all fish bowl. So I don't know
how long this is going to last. But at seventy

player that's only had two starts. Now, look, arch is
not a freshman by any stretch. He's been there for
three years. You would have thought that Steve Sarksan as
great a play caller as he is and a guy
that call plays in the NFL with Atlanta Falcons, as
well as for Nick Saban with the national championships that

they got at Alabama. He did not make any adjustments
to what was going on, and Arch was looking out
there and nobody's open. I mean, they're clevered up the
whole game. So I blamed Stark a hell of a
lot more than I do Arch Manning. Now, when you

and he did have poor mechanics when he missed open receivers.
His first past was an open receiver and he missed it.
So it's not all on Sarkisian, but a lot of

that Manning name and when you're playing in a game

based on what who's returning and who came back from
last year and what the team was like a year ago.
And I mean, Ohio State is still the better program,
and it's due in large measure because the head coach,
Ryan Day has been at the controls or of that

when Urban was there. Arksian's team is is still going
to be a playoff team, and I think that's might
very well win the SEC. But I'm not at all
shocked that they lost that game. I was a little
shocked that Starkesian's offense was that poorous throughout the game.

And by the way, Ohio State did not play great.
I mean, the only difference between Julian Sayan and Archie
arch Manning is that he didn't turn it over. Was terrific,
but he didn't have to be, you know, not with
that defense and uh and not with the receivers and
the running backs that that they have. So but yeah,

the memes and the crazy blank that's always there whenever
we're talking about a Manning. That was Yeah, a lot
of people were over the top on that. Without question, I.

Think a guy a lot of the NFL scouts are
going to start really paying attention to the kid from
LSU or I shouldn't say kid, because he's one of
the senior quarterbacks in the country four years senior Garrett Neussemier.
Just your breakdown on him, takes care of the ball
and a big win. I think one of the bigger
wins in the weekend was LSU at Clemson.

Yeah, the combination of nus Meyer's maturation and he was
better than Kay Clubneck And I think I told you guys,
I thought Clubnick was was a better quarterback than u
s Meyer. Uh. And club Nick could not deal with
LSU's defense. The defensive coordinator for l s U is
like through, you know, the coordinator of the week other

than maybe Matt Patricia, He's the next guy Black Blake, Blake,
That's that's that defense was incredible. And Harold Perkins on
the final play, Uh, you know, showed that speed and
quickness to take away you know, another opportunity to Clemson
ad at the end of that game. But Nussmeyer is
the good and you know I've bolted them this week

all the way after number two. I thought that was
the most impressive U road victory by any team this
past week without questions. You know, you go on the
road to play Clemson. Uh. And on top of that,
Brian Kelly had a lot of heat on him to
win an opening game. You know, it'd been five years

going back to Orgeron since Kelly, She's won their opener, right,
and he was zero and three as a head coach.
So and lost really to a USC team that went
nowhere last year. Think about it. So and LSU had
a much better season, winning Can one again. But nut
smile was fantastic and I think he's got very much

a leg up now if they can continue to win
and improve. His receiving corps is new. You know, they
lost a lot of kids, including the Kyl and Lacy kids,
who unfortunately took his own life after having some issues
with the law in the off season. And he worked
with his new receivers really well. Unless you turned the

ball over a couple of times in the first half,
that game could have gotten away from them, and their
defense saved them. But Nessmeyer was money in the second half,
made big pass after big pass. And listen, how bad
would it have been for the SEC if Clemson had
beaten LSU after what had happened to Texas in Columbus
and to Alabama and Tallahafse. Okay, it would have been.

They would have been at the Birmingham office. They would
have had the trumpetier going with pat On.

he legitimately had earned it, Okay had earned the right
to be a captain's pick. For him to do that,
I mean, Sam Burns is not of Keegan's generation at all. Okay,

those young guys, justin Thomas, you know, he's a contemporary
of theirs, not Kegan, right. I mean, Keegan is an
older veteran who's whose buddies are you know, a little
older than those guys. But he did the right thing
that a captain would you know, would then should do
in that situation. So it speaks so highly of his humility,

but also his leadership skills. Okay, and I listen, it's
one thing to automatically make the team based on performance,
which Burns did last time. Okay, nobody puts better on
tour than his kids. Okay, he is a multi major
champion in winning, he still hasn't had that moment yet.

Could have happened that the US Open didn't have some
bad breaks, and listen, the guy that won, I think
completed about seventy feet of puts with Birdie's last two
holes to win it, so he may even without that. Letally,
he may not have won the US Open this year.
But what Hegan did was just the absolute right thing
