What do you expect now? Thetenth Inning show on Sports Talk seven
ninety, your home for Astros Baseball. It's an O one poun two Al
two, a Astros down four totwo. The pitch and Al Twove hits
it in the air pretty deep toleft. Carneris back at the wall.

(01:57):
Leave it. It is God,it's gone. It's gone. It's gone.
Oh the Luve get the Astros afive to four ley, Patty,
you like that? Most of theAstros players out in front of the third

(02:21):
base stuck out, celebrating and readyto great Ol Tuve. Al Tuvey is
the lone star once again from theAstros. Clear eyes and a full heart,
clear eyes, full heart, can'tlose. And to answer your question,

(02:46):
Robert Ford, how do I likethat? I like it very much.
I like it a lot, andquite frankly, I'm sitting here at
Globe Life Field as Astros fans arecontinuing to cheer and rally around their team,
and I sit here with you, folks, in disbelief at what I

(03:06):
just witnessed in this game. Imean, how long ago did it feel
like Justin Verlander and Jordan Montgomery werein this game and everything that happened,
and the ejections and the benches clearing, and then the comeback and then the
Ryan Presley performance to close it out, all of that leading to a five

(03:27):
to four remarkable, unbelievable, unthinkable, miraculous when by the Houston Astros over
the Texas Rangers to take three straightin Arlington and head back to Houston with
a chance to clinch a fifth WorldSeries birth over this run that they have

(03:49):
been on, I am in disbelief. Hello, and welcome in to the
Astros tenth Inning Show here on SportsTalk seven ninety. Ross very out with
you and Will. The phone lines, as they should be, are filled
up right now, but they willopen up as we take them seven one
three two one two five seven ninetyon the Xfinity listener lines seven one three

(04:11):
two one two five seven ninety.Of course it ends with Al Tuvey and
Ryan Presley, but it began ina different way as Justin Verlander was looking
very good through the beginning of thisone, and Jordan Montgomery, at least
in the first inning, wasn't.There were some hard hit balls off of
him in the beginning. There youof course had the solo shot by Alex

(04:34):
Bregman and pregame. I was thinking, you know, hey, the Astros
did kind of get carved up byJordan Montgomery, but they did have some
opportunities they didn't capitalize on. Maybethey can get after him, and well
they didn't. Five and a thirdinnings for Jordan Montgomery, five hits,
two earned runs, a couple ofwalks, and three strikeouts. Overall,

(04:54):
he was very, very effective, and as far as the pitchers used this,
I went to script for Bruce BochieJordan Montgomery for five and a third
then he got five good outs byJosh Bors. Couldn of congratulation to him
for holding the Astros down. Butthen a role as Chapman came in,
and then well jose Lecleric came in, and we know what jose L Tuove
did. Their overall verlander. Unfortunately, the three run shot by Adlas Garcia

(05:18):
and the sixth the biggest blemish onhis record. Five and two thirds inning
six hits, four earned runs, one walk, three strikeouts, but he
did enough because you got enough fromyour guys. Then Hector Narras came in.
He recorded four outs and was alittle bit shaky for the Astros,
also giving up a walk. Andthen Brian A. Brey you was shaky

(05:40):
and then ejected. He first ofall walked who was it? It was
so long ago at this point now, Evan Carter, I believe right.
He walked him on five pitches.A couple of questionable calls. Another storyline
in this one, by the way, the umpires, but we don't have
to get to that right now.But yes, Brian Abray you came in.
He walked Evan Carter on five ballson five pitches. Then in his

(06:04):
first pitch he hit Adolas Garcia, and Adolas Garcia took exception to it.
Now, the fact of the matteris Adolas Garcia did hit a big three
run shot against the Astros. Hedid pimp it and celebrate and all that
type of stuff. Me personally,I'm okay with it. Like you,
you go out and show that emotion. This game is supposed to be fun.

(06:26):
I'm on board with it. Butclearly he thought the Astros or Brian
abray You was taking exception, andwe don't have a one concrete answer on
that, but I'm just going totell you the situation in a two run
game in the eighth inning of apivotal pivotal five game series, where the
team that goes up three to twowins seventy one percent of the time,

(06:48):
and the Astros want to win anddon't want to give extra runners on base,
and the fact that Brian A brayYou is just not the He's a
kind of a very reserved, politeyoung gentleman. Like if Hector Narris went
out there, and I'd be like, okay, maybe Hector Narris was throwing
a Brian a bray because he's gettingall fired up. Brian, I'm excuse

(07:08):
me. A Dolas Garcia, Hectorand nears throwing at Adlas Garcia. But
Brian A brey You, it justdoesn't seem like it's in his DNA.
It wasn't the situation for it.And look at that Evan Carter at bat
where he did throw a couple ofstrikes, but he was also throwing some
way out of the strike zone.So that all leads me to believe that

(07:29):
Brian A Brey you was not throwingat Adolis Garcia, but the bench is
cleared. A Dolas Garcia was gettingupset. Jord On Alvarez was trying to
keep Adlas Garcia from doing anything.I'm hey, let him go out there
and throw some punches, get rejectedor get suspended for the rest of the
series. I'm okay with that. But no, then you get your own
guys throwing punches. Of course, the right move is to just let cooler
heads prevail, and that's what happenedthere. But from there you had Brian

(07:51):
a Bray you ejected, a DoulasGarcia ejected, and then the Astros manager,
Dusty Baker ejected as well. Ashe was fired up over there,
as he should be, because itwas pretty clear to me. The Dusty
Baker also didn't think that Brian ABray you hit hit a Doulas Garcia on

(08:13):
purpose, so he stayed in thedugout for a long time. Like Ryan
Presley came out, got warmed up, and Dusty Baker is still wearing out.
Marvin Hudson, the homeplate umpire, who by the way, was just
terrible today or was he the crewchief it doesn't matter. Marvin Hudson was
getting worn out by one Dusty Bakerfor a very long time tonight, and

(08:37):
then finally he went back to thedugout. Ryan Presley came out and did
his thing after. Of course, the highlight that you just heard Jose Altuve
with a huge, huge moment. But I would be remiss if I did
not give credit to the two pinchhitters before that that got on base.
I mean, you're coming up inthe ninth and you're like, okay,

(09:01):
looks like Yanyardiaz is hitting for Penaand John Singleton is the is it the
on deck circle for the Astros? But it made sense. Check my twitter
at sports RV. I said thiseven before he walked. John Singleton,
for all of his faults, isa very very good judge of the strike
zone. He is somebody that heswings at strikes and unfortunately doesn't get hold

(09:22):
and swings and misses a fair amount. But he also doesn't chase a lot.
And looking throughout this series, JoseLecleric has been throwing a lot of
balls. He struggled to throw strikes. So to me, I was on
board with it when it happened thankfully, janyardeas with the single to left and
then John Singleton walks and that wasthe appetizer to the main course. Jose

(09:45):
al Tuove the big time shot toleft field Evan Carter. Honestly, from
my vantage point, if you folkshave seen any of our coverage and you
can look at my Twitter, Ijust posted one as well from WRE We're
pretty high up here in the pressbox at GLOBALI Field in Ireland, So
from my vantage point where Evan Carteris like five hundred feet away from me,

(10:05):
I'm like, did he catch that? Because Jose Altuve is continuing to
trot and you heard so many cheersin this building, I kind of thought
it got caught. That's the thing. There were a lot of Astros fans
in this game, in game numberfive, more than they have been in
the first two games that were veryvocal. They were very loud, so
it was such a swell of cheers. I'm like, wait a second,

(10:28):
who let me check. He's trotting, he's scoring. They're putting five on
the scoreboard. And then I'm like, let me double trick. Okay,
let me triple check. Okay,it's on the TV score Oh my god,
I don't believe what I just saw. Incredible, unbelievable moment and Jose
Altuve the greatest Astro of all time. Yes, I'm one of the handful

(10:54):
that was still on Bagwell Hill andit was getting pretty lonesome up there.
I'm off that hill. It's Joseal Tuo and he the playoff moments that
he's brought in, the greatness inthe in the Hall of Fame career,
and especially these October moments that he'sgiven us. No argument for me,
he's the greatest astro and what giftshe and this Astros team have given us

(11:18):
in these moments in October, Imean wow. All right, seven one
three two one two five seven ninetyis the phone number here on Sports Talk
seven ninety and the Astros Tenth InningShow. I just kind of blathered on
there for a little bit, sowe are kind of up against the top
of the hour, but there's alot of you on hold, So let's
go ahead and get one in quicklyon the Xfinity listener lines. Phone lines

(11:41):
will open as we take them.Let's start off with Raymond in the Woodlands
here on the Tentenning Show. Astroswin five to four over the Rangers.
What's up, Raymond? What's up? Rv? Hey? Uh Man,
what an exciting game. You've broughta lot of good, good storylines there
that I'd love to get to,but can't get to all of them.
One thing, Montgomery, Uh,he pitched well enough today. I was
hoping we can get to him earlyto you get that bullpen throwing at us,

(12:05):
because you know, uh, wecrush them right. Uh. You
know, I was looking at thepast few games. I think we've scored
roughly nineteen runs against the bullpen versusI don't know five or six against starting
pitching. It's just night and day. Right. Shout out to Yan her
ideas and Singleton for getting on base. Like you said, Singleton has a
great eye at the plate. Ithought it was one of those great putting
him in just because you knew he'dget on base. And the reason why

(12:28):
is because well, Clark is trash. He was trash in Game two.
He threw a pitchel two bay thatat two they normally crushed it, and
he got lucky. Well I sawhim throw a mile away. But Clark
cannot throw, cannot throw strikes.There. The Rangers' bullpen is complete trash
and and we're gonna take the gameon Sunday. Okay, anyway, go

(12:48):
ghost throws. What an exciting moment. Of course, how two Bay is
the greatest after whoever, it's noteven comparable, guys, such such great
numbers, And yes, Evan,Evan Carter, I agree with you.
I thought it was caught and itwas broken for half a second. So
what a release and wow, whatan amazing game Ghostros. All right,
there you go. Thanks, uh, Raymond, I appreciate you. And

(13:09):
yeah, just I mean a speechlessfor so long, like trying to gather
my thoughts. You know, Ikind of I want to do these pre
games, our postgame shows. I'mkind of thinking, okay, what I
want to hit this, this, this, this, make sure I talk
about this and then we'll go tothe fund Like I don't even know.
Man, what a freaking game, guys. Game number five. Astros lead

(13:30):
three to two in the ALCS afterbeing down two in the series. What
the the Astro scriptwriters are on onethis year? Let's just say that,
all right, seven one three twoone two five seven ninety We do need
to take that top of the hourbreak. Sorry, folks, that's Radio
I know a lot of your onhold. We're gonna run calls for a
while when we come back. Phonelines are jammed right now, but as

(13:50):
we take them to will open upand let's talk about it. Baby seven
one three two one two five sevenninety seven one three two one two five
seven ninety Xtros pull out a miraclein Arlington with a five to four victory
and now lead the Alcs three totwo. We'll continue talking about it on
the Exfinity tenth Inning Show presented byXfinity, of course, and our coverage

(14:13):
on the Road presented by Carbock Brewing. We'll do it after this top of
the Art break back in a minutefrom Rosview reale with you. I'm gonna
be should give you a little insighthere what's going on. So the last
time we did the postgame show waslike a little bit lower and more secluded
place. Now I'm kind of alittle bit far from the writing press,

(14:35):
and if you know me, I'mkind of a loud talker. So I'm
trying to talk to my left withthe press to my right, and still
especially being respectful to those who arerangers, writers and media and stuff like
that. But that's okay. We'regonna get excited and we're gonna be happy
about this as the Astros win fiveto four over the Texas Rangers. We're
talking about it on the Tenth InningShow presented by Exfinity, and we're talking

(14:58):
about it live from Globe Field inArlington thanks to Carbach Brewing. Phone lines
jammed right now. But if youwant to get in seven to one three
two one two five seven ninety sevenone three two one two five seven ninety
and I'm gonna do something that I'veonly done a couple of times in this
postseason, or maybe really throughout theseason at all. Uh, the player

(15:20):
of the game brought to you byTwin Peaks. I mean that's gonna have
to be Jose al Tuove. Eachdrinks and scenic views all at Twin Peaks,
Jose al Twove the player of thegame. He went one for five,
but I don't care. Three runsbatted in, that's what's important.
So Jose al Tuove is your playerof the game. And then guess what

(15:41):
your play of the game is.Well, it is very easy. That
three run shot off the bat ofJose Altuove that put the Astros ahead in
the ninth I mean, what doyou even say, still in disbelief about
what I just witnessed, and likeI said, adding to the drama,
not sure that Carter didn't catch thathearing a huge swell of cheers and like,

(16:03):
okay, is that Astros fans oris that Rangers fans? It was
Astros fans. They were megaloud honestlyin that moment. It was impressive.
Uh, the the amount of Astrosfans that were up here in Arlington for
this game. I think it wasmuch more than it was for the first
and second games of this series.Maybe people took took a Friday off and
took the road trip up here orwhatever it was. But yeah, there
are a lot of Astros fans hereand they were cheering quite loudly during the

(16:27):
play of the game, which isthat three run shot off the bat of
jose L two Ve in the ninthinning to put the Astros up five to
four. Your play of the gameis presented by Morrow Mechanical. All right,
seven one three two one two fiveseven ninety the phone number. That's
enough for me. Let's keep itgoing. A lot of you holding along.
If you get on, I willtalk to you. I promise.

(16:48):
Let's start with Mark and Humble holdingthe longest here on the x FI and
center lines. I gotta agree withyou. I think l TVV is one
of the greatest asters of all time, and I think Bagwell will agree with
you too. Yeah, he's numberone. Yeah, I just I just
felt like, especially the regular seasonand the peak of what Bagwell brought,
et cetera of four hundred and fortynine home runs. I was on Bagwell

(17:10):
Island a lot longer than most people. But I'm off. Oh, I
have je I'm jettisoned. Off Iam. I've said my goodbyes, I've
hugged all the staff and I appreciatethem. But we're off to jose al
to a really nation at this point. One of the sweetest comeback wins of
all ten. Uh. The onlything that would have made it sweeter if

(17:32):
it would have been Off Chapman becauseuh, Al two B is Chapman's daddy.
Yeah, yeah, y'all, I'lllisten to the show. Y'all have
a good one, all right, thanks a lot, Mark, Yeah,
I appreciate it. Yeah, Imean, how lucky y'all rereap, by
the way, to be able tocompare these games. The thing was in

(17:56):
that al Tuo a home run athome in game six of the ALC in
twenty nineteen. That was a tiegame, and that was a walk off
too, so you're at home, but that was a tie game like that
game could have kept going on ifJosel Tuve didn't do what he did.
If jose al Tuve doesn't do whathe did, today the Astros lose.

(18:18):
The Ashros are down three to two, and the Astros are coming home to
where they've struggled to win with fromRavaldez on the hill, who has been
shaking in these postseasons, and you'resaying, we got to win these next
two. There's no margin for error. So you can go tomato tomato with
this, because it also was aseries clincher from Joseel Tovey in twenty nineteen

(18:41):
and sent the Ashtros to the WorldSeries. I mean, if a swing
of the bat walkoff sent you tothe World Series, that's a pretty good
accomplishment. So how great is it? How spoiled are we? They were
even having this argument, so Idon't know. It just happened, So
we'll take some time to process.Maybe you do give the edge to the
twenty nineteen one because it was awalk off to go to the World Series.

(19:03):
But either way, Hosey freaking alTuve, he's been the catalyst.
He's been the heart and soul.He has been the guy that has warned
the most on the road. Whenthe Astros go into enemy territory, into
Yankee Stadium and Dodgers Stadium, inevery stadium in Seattle, Minnesota, Cleveland,
wherever jose al Tuove comes to bat, he gets booed and he gets

(19:26):
called a cheater. And for himto continue to come up in these moments
with all of that that has happenedand had been the face of the Astros
in this run and the face ofthe cheating scandal is somebody who didn't even
participate in it, and somebody whounfortunately really got defamed by John Boy with
the whole buzzer nonsense that is completelynot real and there are people out there

(19:51):
that still believe in it and itwas completely made up by a content creator.
And he still comes up in thesemoments and he clubs a freaking three
run shot over the left field fenceto put the Astros up three to two.
Unbelievable. I mean, this isbeyond storybook. This is like if
you saw this in the movie, you'd be like, oh, they just

(20:11):
Hollywood everything up. Look at this. Nobody's gonna believe any of this is
really happening. But it did,and it does and jose L two Vey
is the engine of what the Astroshave been doing on this run. Seven
one three two one two five sevenninety the phone number. Let's keep it
going, Astros. Mike next up? What's up? Mike A Ross.

(20:34):
You know, if the Astros didlose tonight, you know, I'm gonna
call and I'm gonna tell give youtwo words. You know what those two
words are? Uh go cantune,Panick, Oh, don't kanick. I
mean that's what I said on Mondaynight when they were down to nothing.
I said, yes, I'll TuveBregman and Tucker Gonstal hitting and I said,

(20:57):
even if they take two out ofthree, I'll be satisfied. But
I predicted three. But I saidI take two out of three. I
mean I can't control everything. Uh. Now they're coming home. Uh you
know that this that they can't winat home. Don't worry, They're not
going to lose any more games. At home in this or the World Series.
So they're going to go three andoh, you could write it down

(21:18):
and then make fun of me ifit doesn't happen, say, Mike's you
know, full of whatever you wantto say. But but but my player
of the game, and I lovethis with I predicted it might what happen,
but I didn't predict he would doit. Brian Obrau. But after
that guy hit that home run,I said, the next time he comes
up, I didn't know what thescore was going to be at the time.
The Astros could have been winning orI said, I didn't know.

(21:41):
People, I said, I hopehe gets Spain. I know they're going
to throw at him, and Iwas real he definitely threw at him.
Okay, he's going to tell youhe didn't, but okay, I know
he did. Okay, I don'tthink he did, honestly, Mike,
uh but okay, Well, Iwas so happy. I you know,
in my mind, I was lookingfor it. And what can I tell
you? But as far as uhas as the team is concerned, they're

(22:07):
gonna win the World Series this version. So when I say don't panic,
it's I'm talking about this specific specificteam, and I'll let the other call
is come. I you know,it's like a given that they're gonna win
the World Series, but I guessyou have to play day by day and
the drama comes. But like Isaid, even if they lost tonight,

(22:27):
don't panic. If they lose thefirst two games of the World Series,
I'm gonna call up and say, don't panic they lose the first three.
All right, thanks, Mike, appreciate it. Yeah, no, no,
no panicking, no, no worrying, at least from this side.
And I was on that postgame show. I believe in game two. Honestly,
these are running together. I thinkit was me or what, It

(22:49):
doesn't matter, but I remember notbeing panic, not being worried. It's
a spot you don't want to bein. The same thing for tonight.
It's a spot you don't want tobe in. And we talked about this
in the pregame with myself and Chris. You don't want to be the team
that goes down three to two ina series. But if you are in
the air Astros, you also wouldn'tpanic because they've been through this before.
They've been down three to two ina series before heading home and one that

(23:11):
happened in the twenty seventeen American LeagueChampionship Series against the Yankees, so it
certainly wouldn't have been It would havebeen caused for concern, not cause for
panic. But you don't even haveto worry about it because you got jose
al Twov. This guy's he's analien. I mean, they got a
bunch of aliens on this team.Actually, Jordon Alvarez is an alien.

(23:33):
Jose l Twove is an alien, and I don't know, forty year old
Justin Verlander, let's call him analien. Two. He was part of
this win for the Astros. Hedid give up the four runs, but
at least he didn't go out thereand get shelled. And unfortunately, three
of those came off of one swingof the bat from Adoli Scarcia. So
you know, overall, fairly solidouting from Justin Verlander. At least it

(23:56):
wasn't a disaster like we've seen fromcertain arms in this on this pitch staff
from the Astros we shall not name, but then Narris and then Ryan freaking
Presley, he is your Rudy's barbecuerelief pitcher of the game six outs,
gave up a couple of hits butstruck out three twenty four pitches, eighteen
of them for strikes. So definitelythe relief pitcher of the game. For

(24:21):
I know that Mike wants to giveit to Brian A. Brayew because he
got he got everybody all riled upand they poked the bear or whatever.
But there you go, Ryan Presley, Rudy's barbecue relief pitcher of the game.
He came out and closed things outfor the Astros and allowed them to
get this five to four victory overthe Texas Rangers in game number five,
pivotal Game number five of the Alcsand now lead three to two seven one

(24:42):
three two one two five seven ninety. Let's keep it going on the phone
lines Blaine and Alveton. Alvin isnext up on the x Fannity listener lines.
What's up, Blaine? Yeah,So I'm with you on the play
of the game and the player ofthe game without two ve but and I
was brought up with and even thegreatest Astro I'm with you on now,

(25:02):
TUV And I was brought up inthe seventies with the Cruise and Cabell and
Sedanio. But the bat of thegame had to be in Singleton not swinging
at a bad pitch and not hittinginto a double play. That set everything
up and I think that was justthe best at that of the entire game.
Yeah, it was huge, Andthank you for making the call,

(25:26):
Blaine. I appreciate you getting inand I mentioned it and like I said,
I mean you could check the timestamps. I said that before Singleton
came in, like la clerk,it has been shaky, and you look
at the overall numbers and you're like, yeah, so what he's He hadn't
given up a hit, and helooked good against the Astros, but he
walked a couple of guys on Mondayagainst the Astros in game number two,

(25:48):
and then in the game that hepitched on Sunday, if memory serves,
I can go check, but Ithink he was having trouble throwing strikes in
that game as well. So yougo to John Single in a moment where
honestly between you and me, likeI didn't want him to take his bat
off the shoulder, just go outthere, judge the strike zone and get
your calls. And unfortunately, youknow this. This homeplate umpire, by

(26:10):
the way, remarkably inconsistent on bothsides, missed some huge, huge calls
of course, won against Alex Bregmanand missed some other ones, and he
also missed some for the Astros aswell. So I think jose L Tuovay
was supposed to strike out earlier ina game when he didn't, but he
ended up flying out to left orwhatever it was. So yeah, that
at bat of John Singleton was hugein that moment for the Houston Astros to

(26:34):
be able to come up and givejose L Twove the opportunity to club that
three run shot that of course turnedthis game on its head. Seven one
three, two one two five sevenninety the phone number. Let's keep it
going on the Xfinity listener lines andthe tenth Ending Show, also brought to
you by Infinity. Let's see nextupholding longest. It is Robbie in ahe

(26:56):
town. What's up, Robbie, hey man, how's it going? What
a what a hell of a game? Right all timer, Robbie, There's
no other way to put it.I mean, just incredible, incredible game.
Yeah, like you said, we'vebeen really spoiled these last seven years,
but that definitely ranks up there atthe top. But I just wanted

(27:17):
to call in. I don't havetoo much else to say. I too,
Actually I called it on Monday andalso predicted a three game sweep up
that a minute made North as Ilike to call it. And they got
it done. You know, theygot it done the most dramatic way possible.
But what I really liked seeing wasseeing Dusty get as fired up as

(27:40):
he did after a brave He gotejected. He's usually, you know,
pretty laid back, it seems like, but I really love seeing that emotion
from him and getting the guys firedup. And yeah, I think that
I think that definitely helped catalyze thatthat comeback win for them. So that's
all right, Thank you, Robbie. Appreciate you getting in and appreciate you

(28:03):
making the call. Yeah. Uh, Dusty Baker, like I said,
with talking to Marvin Hudson, hegot his money's worth in that situation.
And the astro, I mean, the whole team was fired up. You
got the whole benches clearing thing, and yourd on trying to keep Adlas Garcia
from h from getting into any sortof scuffle or fighter or anything like that.

(28:23):
And then Dusty Baker absolutely just wearingMarvin Hudson out, Like Ryan Presley
came in, got warmed up andhe's like standing there ready to go,
and Dusty Baker is still giving itto Marvin Hudson, like this was just
an insane game. Baby. Hereon air on Sports Talk seven ninety The

(28:44):
Tense Inning Show. Look, whenyou go to take the show on the
road, thanks to Carbo Broo bythe way, sometimes you run into some
issues. And I think we're allset now though with me ros Via Real,
Chris Gordy and Adam Clinton here aswell. But when we got kind
of knocked off there, Gordy,I was trying to go to you.
We talked to about how in theseries in games one and two, well,
Game one was kind of subdued.Game two it looked like nobody like

(29:06):
a ghost town, nobody wanted tobe there. And then last night a
little bit more kind of life intothe clubhouse. What was it like there
down there tonight, Yeah, Imean it was like it was a happy
clubhouse there. We had to youknow, there were a few things.
Obviously jose Al Tuova's heroics. Imean, Adam Client's there with me.
We were in there and uh,Alex Bregman just you know he Bregman cited

(29:30):
his kid Knock saying, I hopeKnox looks up to Jose al Twov as
a role model of what you're supposedto be as a human being. You
know, it's a baseball player, everything else, and that that's just like
the ultimate compliment you could pay towhat al tuo b is to this team.
I think back to before the gametoday, Gordy and I go into
the uh, the the press conferenceroom, because Jose al Tuve was one

(29:52):
of the three Astros members that weregonna come in there and speak, and
everything was deflected to his teammates.Everything was deflected about them, not me,
not I. It's we, it'sus, and that is It's the
one thing that, if nothing else, you can take away from being in
that clubhouse or just really even watchingthis team. It is very much cohesive

(30:14):
unit. But it starts and endswith Jose al Tuve. And anybody in
that clubhouse that you ask, otherthan talking to him himself, will say
that about al Tuove. There's nothingbut compliments. They gush about this guy.
Yeah, and how could you not, I mean, it's easy on
a day like today, but aday like today is what makes it so
cool that he is the way heis because despite what everybody else in Major
League Baseball and the national narrative onthe Astros cheating scandal is, Jose al

(30:38):
tuoves he is that guy that youwant your kid to grow up like.
He is that athlete, that rareathlete who probably you're not gonna find out
something bad about him someday. Like, he's that good of a guy,
and so you when this stuff likecast happens, you pull for a guy
like that. Yeah, that's whatI was kind of saying actually before you
guys had come up and talking aboutthis with one of the callers, that

(31:00):
not only is it he like,he is that guy, he's also been
the face of all the all thehate, all the booing, all the
cheater chants and all that type ofstuff. He gets it worse than anybody
everywhere they go, and a lotof times because of mister uh defamation,
johmboy and stuff like that. Butan idiot, I hope, But it
is what it like. He isthe one who has been the catalyst.

(31:23):
He is the one who has beenhere the longest. He is the one
that takes the most heat, andhe is the one that comes up the
biggest in these moments. He wasasked ironically today in that same press conference
by I think it was a memberof the national media. I actually don't
know who it was. They werebehind me. I didn't turn around to
see who it was, and Ididn't hear their name. But he was

(31:45):
talking about, Hey, you dothe booze affect you? Does it motivate
you? How do you handle it? And he gave a really good answer
because he's been dealing with it morethan anybody. He's the guy that leads
off first of all. So anytimeyou're in a row stadium, he's gonna
get it. Go to Dodger Stadium, go to Yankee Stadium, go to
any adam and major League Baseball, but particularly those two, he's gonna get
it just worse than anybody and alwaysdoes. And he's like, I'm concentrating

(32:07):
on basically three things, trying tohit the ball, the pitcher, and
the catcher. Everything else is justit's I'm blocking it out. And so
keep bolloing him. But I don'treally think it affect him one way or
the other. I honestly don't eventhink he hears it, and as evidenced
by what he did in the ninthinning today here on the road in Arlington,
where the Astros absolutely own this building, he does not care about any

(32:30):
sort of noise coming his way.He just rakes and he did it again.
And he's an alien, he's notreal. Yeah, all right,
so we will actually, you knowwhat, we kind of took a break
there when we lost some technical difficulty. So we'll just keep it going.
Baby, we'll go on the phonelines. Lottie all been holding for a
very long time, and holding forover forty minutes. Appreciate you, Christian
and Lamark. The floor is yours. Oh career, Scarny and clan your

(33:06):
third. I'm fine, I'm great, Go ahead, Christian, Okay,
cook all right, you guys.I'm just I mean a lot of really
clenching onto to our anxiety during thatentire game, especially leading all the way
up to that eighth inning where thebrawl happened and then the comeback happened with

(33:28):
jose Altube. But I know youRoss said that Jose Al Touby is now
clenching himself as the greatest Astro ofall time outside of Bagwell bitchy O'Ryan,
you know, Cruise and all those, But where do you rank that moment
that happened when jose Al Tube thefight going one for five from you know,

(33:53):
the fight going one for five throughoutthe game. Where do you rank
that Jose out a comeback moments. That's one of the greatest moments in Astro's
history. Yeah, thank you,Christian, I appreciate. Yeah, we
kind of talked about this actually aswell. Guys like, Okay, the
first thing that comes to mind isthe oldest Chapman home run that was at

(34:15):
home that also was a tie game. That's still number one. It was
a tie game, so if joseAl tub doesn't hit that home run,
the game goes on. If joseAl Tuba doesn't hit this home run,
I mean, well, Astro isin all likelihood lose. But that also
was a walk off to go tothe World Series, right, so it's
tough. The only thing that wouldhave made this one better if it would

(34:37):
be if it was off of Chapmanin a different uniforms. That would be
funny. But man, yeah,I mean that's the thing. It sent
you to the World Series. Hey, well pumped the brakes, you got
a game six at home, sixat home on Sunday, he could still
do it again and nobody would besurprised. You know, it was crazy.
Probably one of the most incredible things. I just got to talk about
how all of his teammates talk abouthim like almost like a folk hero in

(34:58):
their own clubhouse. Yeah, RyanPresley, and we tweeted this on the
Sports Talk seven to ninety Twitter accountor whatever they're calling it these days.
If you go back and look atthe tape, Ryan Presley, toward the
end of his interview, was asked, were you expecting al Tuv to hit
a home run? And he goesdeadpan, He just goes kinda They're just
like and everybody laughed because he's like, he's serious, but it's so stupid

(35:20):
to say that this is the ALCSthis is the most clinchest of clinching moments.
And he's just like, no problem, I don't know, I've never
seen anything like it. Yeah,it's incredible. And then you guys had
gone of course you were going toget some some clubhouse audio at that point.
It was the ninth inning, soyou see where we are, Like
it looked kind of looked like EvanCarter had caught it, so I thought

(35:43):
that too. There was such aloud cheer from the crowd. I didn't
realize that's these Astros fans. Fanshave been incredible out here. They and
I think some of the Arlington media, Arlington area Dallas area media was pointing
out the fact that that, likeEvan Grant pointed out that there were probably
more Astros fans today, And Iknow me personally, I got text messages
from people saying, look at thisperson over here. These people over here

(36:05):
are selling their tickets. You canget tickets for cheap to this game.
I think, like, I'm notsaying that tying it up is it because
it's a seven game series. ButI mean, man, I don't know.
I don't want to say anything.I don't want a Jinx thing,
but man, you hit a homerun like a Doulas Garcia did, then
you have all the riff raff inthe eighth and then that happens on your
field. I don't know, man, I the Astros haven't been good at

(36:29):
home this year, but man, that's that's quite the moment. That's quite
the momentum swing if you will.Going. Yeah, there was not a
lot of energy in this place either. I mean, you know, it
got loud at times, but justhaving been here three straight days, this
today felt like though the least amountof energy. And I get it was
an earlier start for Ranger fans, but uh yeah, it just it felt

(36:49):
like and all the asterisk things.I mean, we looked across the left
side here, there's tons of orangeall across the side. Yeah, it
felt well in Adoles Guard. Yousee it hit that three run shot like
that guy last play. Yeah, this place for sure was rocking. All
right, let's keep it going onto the phone Line's a lot of you
on hold holding longest. Sully whowas at the game near the Jose Altuve
home run, Sully, what didyou see there? So me and my

(37:14):
dad, we were at the gameand we were sitting close to where he
hit that home run. I waslike, it's way that was way too
short. Did I see the ballin that little area where it was locking
from the stands and the fence andeveryone just started going but listed, yeah,

(37:37):
it's a little deposit area right therethat he put it into so that
Evan Grant, Evan could not EvanCarter could not get a hold of it.
Yeah. I was just just unbelievablethat it happened right there. It
didn't go into the stands, andyou know, Evan Carter is fantastic out
there, so I just didn't knowthat it had enough juice to get out.
But it was close. And thenbut when he went down and kind

(37:59):
of like put his down, you'reoh, he didn't go Yeah. That's
the only signal to me was thatal Twov just kept on trotting. I'm
like, well, looks like wegot a home run here, folks,
And we did, and that wasthe catalyst for a five to four victory
for your Houston Astros over the Rangersin game number five of the a LCS.
Continuing to talk about it at sevenone three, two one two,

(38:19):
five seven ninety with sal In Paarlandon the x Fanning de listener lines,
what's up, sal Hey, Hey, I have a quick question for y'all.
Did it feel good to see Idon't see I get hit low key?
Or who do y'all think? Uh? Me? Personally, I didn't
like it. I don't know aboutyour other guy. I just don't like
guys getting hit with one hundred mileprojectiles. Also, I don't believe that,

(38:42):
Brian Abray you. I don't believethat, Brian Abray you was doing
it on purpose. So no,he plays with passion, he plays with
energy. He likes to pimp hishome runs. That's okay when like Hector
Narris goes out there and gets firedup, or when jord On Alvarez tosses
his bat to the Astros dug outand starts screaming, I'm okay with it.
So I'm okay with the dullast Garciadoing what he does. But just

(39:06):
a shame that the guy got allfired up and got tossed out of the
game and his team loss. Yeah, Brian and Bray talking about that and
asked about you know what was said, and he said he went out to
a dullas Garcia and was like, hey, trying to tell him, you
know, my bad didn't do thatintentionally, which, by the way,
of course he didn't. They're downtwo in the eighth inning on the road.
There's why wouts, there's no outs. Why would you put an additional

(39:27):
runner on base on purpose? Itjust makes zero sense. And so he
said that he he said that toGarcia and that Garcia said bs, but
he didn't say bs, and sohe goes okay, and then the next
thing he knows he's getting ejected, which he did not like the fact that
he wasn't given a real, inhis opinion, reason for being tossed.
It was almost like the umpire, who has was atrocious behind the plate all

(39:51):
day, got swept up in themoment the emotion of the crowd and just
decided he was going to start tossingout ejections like Oprah Winfrey. So he
never really said he got a clearindication as to why he was being tossed,
but you would assume the umpire thoughthe did it intentionally. But again,
we just explained why. That's thedumbest thing ever. Yeah, anyway,
so I have one more questions,go ahead, Uh yeah, Hey,

(40:17):
do you think Dusty just stick withFromber or it's already a done Now
it's gonna be Fromber. Thanks alot, So I appreciate you getting in.
Dusty announced it before the game, guys, and I understand we're a
little shaky on Fromber and all thattype of stuff. Update I do,
Uh, Gordy can confirm this.He was standing right there when it happened.

(40:38):
He merrily danced his way into theclubhouse, was singing, jumping around,
dancing. I don't think he's worriedabout game since he's always he always
on. He's always on, Imean like it. The only time he's
not super chill is when he's onthe mountain sweating. He just walked to
guys and hit another That's but I'mtelling you that is who was involved with

(41:02):
the whole you know, the Simeonand the all that stuff back in Houston.
That he was the one pitching thatnight obviously. So you take what
happened tonight and then you put himin the middle of that, it's gonna
be a very very high intensity situationon Sunday. And one more thing going
to brak you. He was upset, he said, because the asked him
about the l two va home run. He said the biggest thing was he

(41:24):
was upset he couldn't be out thereand celebrate with the team. Yeah,
I'm stuck here watching on a TV. But Gordy and I could hear the
clubhouse celebration all the way out intothe hallway when they got off the field.
It was very obvious that they wereback in the clubhouse when it happened.
Love it, love it all right, let's keep it going on the
phone lines, Nestor and Katie, what's up? Hey? Good even guys.

(41:46):
I just want to say that whoI think is the player of the
game. I know many are notgoing to agree with this. It's a
Doulas Garcia. And I'm gonna tellyou why, because what he tonight is
what separates the man from the boys. His whole back flip. And don't
get me wrong, I love agood backflip. I love all that stuff.
But the way he went about itand the way he trotted around,

(42:07):
the way he hopped on home plateafter that, that woke up the beast.
They or he messed up at thatpoint. I think that was the
flip of the switch for the teamand night and from there on, I
mean, we all saw how toplay it out afterwards. I mean that
that was that. I think thatwas a game, the moment in the
game where everything kind of turned intothe favorite the Astros. So I think

(42:28):
that's what experience versus no experience isall about men versus boys, and what
he did tonight, hopefully he learnsfrom it. But that guy's been a
real hot head. And the waywhen whenever he hits home runs, the
way he just stares at them.I've been waiting for this moment to come,
for him to actually be throwing inhis face. And I'm so glad
it happened in this fashion night. And that's all I want to say.
Guys, Shros underscore, nest myTwitter account, Adam clan you and not

(42:52):
follow each other. Love you guys. But yeah, a good night.
Oh thank you. There that's yourboy Nester nice. Oh I know who
that is? Okay, absolutely,Yeah. Twitter is gonna be Twitter's gonna
like what I have in store forthem in the horn. Oh, well,
it's gonna be spicy. We'll saygood morning. Well, I guess
I know we do have to wehave to leave early in the morning.
Man. We're gonna be on here, well for as long as you guys

(43:12):
want to keep going on the tenminute that night, you know on Sports
Talk seven ninety. Uh, maybeI'll ride with you. Uh anyways,
seven one three two one two fiveseven ninety is the phone numbert Ross View
Real and Chris Gordy and Adam Clintonwith you folks. A lot of you
on the phone lines. They're jumpingout, I promise they open as soon
as we take them. Let's gonext with Chris and Downtown. What's up,

(43:35):
Hey guys, how are you doing? Uh? Well, very well.
I want to prefase this, Yeah, yeah, yeah, me too.
I want to preface this by saying, I like a doula scarcita.
I like players with passion. Ilove pimp to home runs. My attitude
is, if you don't like playerscelebrating home runs, and you shouldn't throw
them. So I had no issuewith his celebration of his home run.

(43:55):
Its probably the biggest home run he'sever hit. Let him pip it.
That's fine. But I agree withyou Ross that there's no way that a
braid you hits him on purpose. It's it's bottom of the eighth, no
ELTs is already a runner on It'sa two run game against a very weak
bullpen. Obviously, why are yougoing to hit someone but a runner in

(44:16):
scoring position with zero outs in thisclose up a playoff game. So my
question that I really want to askyou is, how does this game end?
If Garcia just puts his bat downand walks the first if he doesn't
get mollel out of space, ifhe doesn't get a Brad, you ejected.
If he doesn't get Dusty ejected,if he doesn't fire up the team,

(44:36):
does this game? Is this seriesthree to two? Texas going back
to Houston? I mean, Idon't I The Strows seem pretty dejected at
that point. It looked like itwas getting away from our Brad. We
walked the batter ahead of him.So he just puts that backdown and walks
the first two runners on a wildrelief pitcher. I mean, are we

(44:59):
counting on winning two of this nexttwo games to get to the World Series?
Does the game turn? I don'tknow him. I like Arcia,
but you just gotta put the backdown. You can't fire up a team and
give him excuse to rally like that. Yeah, that's huge, Chris.
I kind of even think of necessarilythat angle like you could have. Brian
Brady was looking shaky. Brian Bradypitched all three games of this series.

(45:21):
He warmed up for Game four,he didn't pitch, and then now we're
onto game five, like, andhe's walked Evan Carter on five pitches.
A couple of them could have beenstrikes, but they weren't. But he
looked a little bit wild. Thenhe hits a guy like he could very
well have given up a run.Looters Josh Young and Nathaniel Lowe coming up
next, but Ryan Presley comes upand he gets them all out. You

(45:45):
know it's funny about this too, because I mean pitches did a did a
Brady throw in front of you?I think six, I'll go look,
so six pitches. He's basically Staniconly he did pitch all that leading up
to it. But he got pitchesone strike right, so he got saved
tonight he's got an off day.The Rangers got him tossed out and started

(46:05):
back to bite them right. Hedid him a Favray. He was going
to be available in all likelihood onSunday night. You know what, maybe
I should change it and then changefull over here Ross changing a Dolas Garcia
to the player of the game.Mean, that's that is what I should
do. Uh? All right?Seven one three two one two five seven
ninety. But yeah, to answeryour question, Chris, I mean we
absolutely could very well have seen Rangersscore a couple of runs there off of

(46:30):
a shaky of bray. You andwell, we live in the universe where
it happened, where a Dolas Garciadid get upset, and then Ryan Presley
came in there and came up hugeand got you six outs. I haven't
I haven't heard Dusty talk yet tothe media. Do we know was it
Joe A spotted Did he kind oftake things over when Dusty I'm not sure,
ah, but I would imagine itwould Normally it is the bench coach

(46:52):
who takes Let me ask you guysthis the decisions there in the ninth inning,
to pinch it, to take JeremyPana out of the game and pitch
it yan Ardeaz for him and notdo yan Ardeaz from our team Aldonado.
You go, John Singleton from Aldonado, Do you think that was Dusty's call
or do you think that was?I have no idea. Maybe it was,

(47:13):
maybe it was Joe Spota. Butwhen it happened and we talked about
this as well, like John Singletonis a look, he's not a great
hitter, but he has a greatjudge of the strike zone. He didn't
chase, That's why he was outthere and le Clerk the throws had been
throwing balls all series long. Itwas that It's not an accident. He
drew that walk. Now, it'stactical on the astros part. I'm not
even trying to give him too muchcredit. I absolutely believe that that was

(47:36):
intentional. Uh. Who they putout there in that situation probably told him
not to even try and swing.Uh, depending on the on the pitch
count. I don't know that hedid. I think he didn't have to.
So once he gets on bass, you know you're you're lining up those
those ducks. I just I'm stillstill like, I know, like we're
on the air. It's happened. It's been like over an hour, and
now I can't believe that happened.I know I should because we've seen it.

(48:00):
Yeah, I can't believe Josel Tuovdid it. I can't. No,
I can't. My buddy Jonathan sexto me saying he took credit for
it. He said he texted meright before it said, al two is
gonna get it done. Oh wow. Well, but granted, like a
million guy, he was the onlyguy that thought he was gonna get it
done. Six pitches seen by JohnSingleton. He did not swing at any
of them, got to a fullcount, worked to walk, huge,

(48:22):
huge moment in this game, toset the table for Jose al tuo V
and that three run shot. Uh, let's go ahead, and well,
let's keep it going. We've gota lot of people. Hold him,
Let's do it seven one, three, two, one two, five seven
ninety Ross, Chris and Adam withyou here on the tenth Inning Show.
Jim on the Southwest Side. Nextup, what's up? Jim? Well,

(48:44):
I wanted to preface what I wasgonna say with thanking you guys,
the radio announcers, all the engineers, the people that are you know,
the support staff, the announcers, you know, the management. Because I
missed two games on iHeart Radios KBME seven ninety AM Houston, but all

(49:07):
the other seventy nine games or I'msorry, one hundred and sixty games I
made on the radio. I neverwatched anything live. I only saw some
highlights on my phone. But Ithink Robert Ford got more happiness out of
that three run jack by Jose thanJose did. I'd never heard him that

(49:31):
excited before in all these years, and I'm really happy Robert for that.
But I wanted to say that, yeah, I'm the weirdo that called about
you know, maybe they should checkinto the hotel and take a team bus
over and use the procedures they useon the road. For some reason,
those experiences are making a difference.I don't know if it's I think anyway,

(49:59):
But when it comes to Nationals,Okay, they did beat us twice
at home. We got to getthat monkey off our back. I think
it'll be four to three late andI think we'll go up another three runs,
so I think we'll win about sevento three Sundays. All right,
Jim, thanks a lot, appreciateit. Yeah, they're they're not gonna
stay in hotel rooms. They're notgonna do any of that. I mean,

(50:20):
it is what it is. Youask every single astro, You asked
Dusty Baker, you ask whoever.Like they don't know why they lose at
home. It isn't anything in particular. I know we can be a little
bit worried about it, but it'smore about what happens in the batter box.
Like they lost game one at homebecause they didn't come through in the
opportunities that were presented to them. They lost Game two at home because they

(50:42):
had the bases loaded with nobody out, and then you had what was it,
young Yardaz and jose l two Vastrikeout swinging and Bregman grounded out weekly
to third base. You don't haveJosel two B isn't in the batter's box
in that situation on the base ofthe loaded like man, I didn't sleep
in a hotel tonight, so thatwe are at home, so I'm going
to strike out swinging. Can youimagine? Seriously, could you imagine if

(51:05):
that's going through a Major League baseballplayer's mind, not going through their heads.
They're like Gal Tuvey, like youguys said the del Tuo said,
it's about the pitch and the batter, or in the pitcher and the catcher.
That's what they're focused on. Unfortunately, of course it hasn't gone their
way at home. But there's nothingthey can point to, and I don't
think there's anything that we can pointto either. Seven one three two one

(51:29):
two five seven ninety the phone number. Let's keep it going on the ex
Infinity listener lines. Let's go toScott in Arlington. Next up? What's
up Scott? Hey, guys,I actually live in Tomball, but I
was in Dallas yesterday and today. It had to go to the game without
without a doubt, minus the WorldSeries win, This was absolutely the best

(51:52):
playoff game I have ever witnessed inmy life. Uh, they and I
have to give props, you know, we've we'ven the best player of the
game to do. Al Tuvey andPresident talked about that Astro fans fantastic showing
up at this game. I'm likeyou, Ross, I watched that that
ball go over into left field.I'm on the opposite side of the field.

(52:15):
I even know it was a homerun, and I heard all this
cheering, and it took me threeor four seconds to realize these are Astros
fans that are there lightly right.Yeah, Globefe Park. I could not
believe what I heard. On topof the fact that it was just the
most miraculous comeback I've ever witnessed personally. So drops to the Astro fans pro

(52:35):
owning Globalife Park the way they did. Yeah, absolutely, it was impressive.
Thanks a lot of Scott. Wetalked about that with certainly more fans
here in Astros gear and cheering louder. They felt like they were pretty loud
in Games one, in Games twowhen there were of course three and four
of the series, but one twohere, but it wasn't anything like today

(52:58):
and so tipathakats all, they justtook a day off of work or did
whatever you did the weekend, Comeon, coffin sniffled and got up here
to Arlington because they were extremely vocaland absolutely I was confused as whether or
I was a home run at theend because of how loud the Astros fans
were. Unbelievable. Just again, what what the fans? You know they

(53:21):
did making this easy drive up here? I mean again, just a couple
hours up the road. There's aton of Astros fans that took over here,
and I'm gonna be curious how manyRangers fans show up for Game six
and potentially games. If you're aRangers fan right now and you are thinking
about planning that that trip, you'regetting the Astros jersey back out of your
closet. Oh, Rot Rossie,I see what you're doing there, But

(53:45):
like, seriously, you've got aday to think about this. Do you
really want to drive down to Houstonto see your team get eliminated or if
they do win, okay, doyou are you gonna stay for the next
Like, well, here's the problem. Are the Cowboys on a bye?
Did they play something? Here wego That's what the real focus is right
now. We just don't even existwhen the Cowboys are playing right next door,

(54:08):
by the way, both stadiums verynice on the inside, Yes,
on the inside. On the inside. The outside of this one, the
outside of Jerry World is not bad. The outside of this one is outside
of Jerry World looks like, Imean, I don't even know what to
say, like a death star. It's larger than in charge. It is
very much large and very much incharge. All right, let's keep it
going. The phone lines still fullhere on Sports Talk seven ninety John and

(54:30):
Brenham. Next up, what's up, John? What's up guys? Man?
I'm cracking the survaces tonight. Bratherdoing it. Man, I'm so
excited about this when I just wantto know, why go ahead put up
the statue. Why do I nothave a road a highway named after al
Tuo Bay. We can go aheadand just do that immediately, you know,

(54:52):
I'm telling you this was is Joseal To. They want to,
like, if not, the bestcloses hit her in the postseason that we've
ever seen. Like, I'm tellingyou, it was good to see Dusty
Baker get fired up, toss hishat, and then sit in a thugout
like I'm not going nowhere till thatguy's gone. You know. I mean,

(55:15):
there's just so much about this gamethat was just so dynamic and so
pivotal to us, you know, going forward and bringing it back home.
And it doesn't matter what our homerecord is. If if we take one
game out of this home series,it's we're gonna We're gonna forget about the
rest. We're gonna forget about therest. And I really hope that Chapman

(55:35):
and the Cleric do some cuddling tonightbecause they got a lot to talk about.
Man, love you guys. Thanky'all so much. Man, all
right, she's out. Did shejust suggests Chapman the clerk pillow talk.
Geez, man, that must tonight. I guess well, he did say.
He did start his call off sayingthat the races were flowing at I

(55:57):
really do. But yeah, Imean, I mean, as clutch as
they come in the playoffs. Hetrails only Manny Ramirez. Now, everybody
on the top of the playoff homerun list has played like a million playoff
games. It just is what itis. It's the nature of the business.
But the Astros One of the reasonsthey've played so many playoff games is
because Jose Altuve has come up clutchfor them in so many different moments,
So it goes somewhat hand in hand. But of course the teams have been

(56:20):
really good. AL two the onlyhit like one ninety in the playoffs last
year and they won the World Series. Won. It's a team game.
It's but these moments that he's givenus, and this one, I mean,
I justist, it just just incredible. I keep reliving that ninth in
it it's four to two, right, Yes, Astros bats have not done
much of anything, correct, andwe knew it was Jeremy Payne. Nine

(56:42):
coming up is Jeremy Panya and MartinMaldonado coming up the balls And again no
offense to Jeremy Pannya. He wasa ALCS and World Series MVP a year
last year, but he was justhe's just not done a whole lot the
balls to pinch hit for him withwho was what over ten? Yeah,
whatever in the postseason this year, which I don't even blame him for because

(57:04):
he's being put in these just giganticspots as a rookie when he hasn't consistently
had played appearances. But yeah,he's out there, but he takes he
takes cold strike, ball, ball, fourth pitch, rips a single litt
left And this is a guy who'scriticized for swinging at everything. Yes,
that's what I was actually, Iwas thinking that in the middle of the
bat, like, this is aguy he's been It seemed like earlier in

(57:27):
the postseason. Quite frankly, he'dbeen pressing, and he'd been He always
swings at everything, but he doesn'tnormally swing and miss at everything because he's
such a good contact hitter as well. And we're standing right outside the clubhouse,
client and Adam Winkler and a bunchof the local TV guys are down
there. I think it was AdamWinkler goes, is that John Singleton with
a bat? Wait? What?Yeah? And I said, wait a
minute, Okay, that's Maldonado's spotcoming up. You've already pinched it,

(57:51):
yon Ar Diaz. Yeah, he'skind of the only And before you could
finish that sentence, he was alreadyheading the cow three zero. Yeah,
Like it was insane how fast itwent to advantage Astros in his at back.
And it's what we seen from LaClerk in games one and two though,
like he's erratic, he throws balls. That's why game one hurts so
bad. Yeah, Roscott on chasMcCormick about like Chazz take right, take

(58:13):
it, don't don't swing take becausethis guy can't hit the zone. And
Singleton now he does battle back. The Clerk battles back, throws three straight
balls, then throws two strikes. Both called at John Singleton enough fortitude to
take and work that walk, andthe stage was set. They knew,
just get on and we know who'sbehind us. Yeah, and then I

(58:34):
mean really, then I was hopingthat the Ashros will continue to pile on.
But then you had du Bond,Bregman, and Alvarez all go down
in order, and you're like,oh, boys, it's a white knuckled
knight because you need three more outsfrom Ryan Presley, and Presley made it
dramatic as he is wont to doa lot of hard hit contact. Yeah,
real, real quick, guys.I caught up with John Singleton just

(58:54):
moments ago, so I wanted tohear let you guys hear that again.
Very humble dude, But what abig moment for a guy who wasn't even
on the asteris to start this season. Here was some of my conversation with
John Singleton, trying by John Singleton. Here, John, take me through
that ninth inning. Your name getsto call, you come up there in
a big moment. What's going throughyour head right there? Honestly, I

(59:15):
was just thinking about trying to movethe runner over, get the runner your
scoring position. You know, itwould be nice, you know, extra
base it would be even better. But at the least I was just trying
to do my job and get therunner scoring position. But clerk battling,
how tough of is it there? You want to swing, but you also
have to be disappointed and noe youwant to keep that line moving. You
took some tough pictures there. Yeah, definitely, he's a very good picture.

(59:36):
He has very good stuff. Youknow, you kind of you kind
of have to just take what hegives you. You know, he's going
to nibble. He's not gonna reallythrow anything down the middle of the plate
unless he really has to. Soyou know, just take what he gives
you in and hopefully you can youknow, work out something beneficial to your
team. Well No. Two,they stepped into the box I mean,
in the back of your mind, are you guys thinking, I mean,
this guy's done this so many timeson the big stage. He's gonna come

(59:59):
through. He definitely. You know, it's nice to have runners on first
and second for him coming up.You know, you know, something always
is bound the half phone. He'sup hitting, so it's a special moment.
Thanks Sean. Definitely. All right, there you go. John Singleton
taking sound like he was like, you want to move the runner in the
scoring position? Like he's saying, yeah, I was trying to walk.

(01:00:21):
I walk the entire way he wastrying to say that without saying all right.
Is that the sense you got?No, since I thought was he
was thinking swing, like, Igotta advance that runner somehow, you see
advance that runner by getting a walk. Either way, it was he said
an extra base hit would be nice, but I want to get that runner
into scoring position. That feels liketo me he's saying that, yeah,
but you were in front of him, so I'm not sure. But anyways,

(01:00:44):
let's go ahead and take a topof the hour break here on Sports
Talk seven ninety and the Tenth InningShow. A lot of you on hold.
We will have phone lines open aswe take them and appreciate it.
And also if you're on, wewill get to you. We promise.
It is I'm planted, it isChris Gordy, it is me ros Vier
Real broadcasting live from Global Life Fieldthanks to Carbock Brewing. As we continue

(01:01:07):
talking about an all timer, amiraculous Astros five to four win, they
now lead the Alcs three to two. We'll continue talking about it on the
tent Inning Show here on Sports Talkseven ninety. After this break back to
the seven ninety ten Innings Show, drawn to you by Xfinity ten g made

(01:01:37):
It's an OH one Cow two ALtwo, a Astros down four to
two. The pitch and al Twovehits it in the air pretty deep to
left. CARNERI is back at thewall leaves and it is gone. It's
gone, It's gone. It's godOzil Twove gets the Astros a five to
four. Lay Helly, you likethat. I like it a lot.

(01:02:04):
Robert appreciate you asking. Gordy. This is gonna be unprecedented in Tendening Show
history, I believe, at leastwith me hosting. I already gave l
two A the Player of the Game. I already gave him the play of
the game. Guess who's getting theExtreme Performance. He is sweeping. This
is like the Oscars and he's theTitanic in nineteen ninety eight. He is

(01:02:28):
sweeping the awards. The Extreme Performanceof the Game brought to you by Synergenics
had to fix mylow t dot comfor Houston's premier testosterone solution. It's got
to be jose al Tuove and thatthree run shots. You might as well
give him Reliever of the Game.I mean, who better provided more relief
than the astros Well, I alreadygave it to Ryan Presley. He did
get those six big outs, sowe'll give him that as well. But

(01:02:52):
there you go, Yeah, Joseal Tuove. I mean, unbelievable,
beyond words. I just like Clantwas saying, Gorty like you've been saying
that. We was like just indisbelief of I mean, this is why
you know, we invest all thistime in sports and sometimes and we're like
you are we watch our teams loseand we're like, why do we even

(01:03:13):
waste our time with this? Theseguys are just loser, not losers,
of course the astros, but like, come on, what's going on here?
This is why moments like tonight, the moments of greatness that you see,
the athletic prowess that these guys show, the clutch moments, and these
big in these big time stages ina situation like it was after bench is

(01:03:36):
clear, after guys are getting ejectedfor him to do what he did.
Just I just keep using, goingback to the word unbelievable, because that's
what it is, the meme ofI mean, jose La Clerk, you
are now a meme. I meanthe look on his face that he turns
around and that ball leaves it was. It was chapman esque and ironic,
relieves Chapman. Yeah, funny,Yeah, pretty funny. Made that yeah,

(01:04:02):
which again conveniently tonight, Chapman comesin right after al Tuove had batten
already. Like again, it's like, yeah, Boachman, don't want to
avoid that. It seems like sevenone three two one two five seven ninety.
Let's keep going on the X mendingthe listener lines, phone line your
jab right now, but of coursethey will open as we take them.
Kelvin in Buffalo next up? What'sup? Kelvin? Hey guys, Uh,

(01:04:29):
my first time, my first timecalling in. I'm from I have
no affiliation with really either the Rangersor the Astros. But I called into
the Rangers postgame radio show and theywere kind of they were kind of suspect
about that. You know, theythought they thought they kind of got screwed.
I was more of a Rangers fangoing in, but after I called

(01:04:50):
into their show, I think I'mkind of switched to the Astros. I
have question, well, I haveI have a couple of questions. One
question I called in and I saidto them, I'm a Blue Jays fan.
I'm like, you get you haveto bunt Marcus Simon in that situation.

(01:05:10):
He was on the Blue Jays,he had forty home runs. I'm
like, but he doesn't produce inbig situations. I mean, he has
to bunt. And they're like,no, no, no, you're an
idiot, blah blah blah whatever. The other thing is the reason I wasn't
I was kind of anti Astros isbecause you know, they they did cheat.
I believe they did cheat, butthey've been so good since all of

(01:05:31):
that happened. They won a WorldSeries. It's like, you know,
you can't. They've been so goodsince they cheated that it's like they probably
didn't even need a cheat to winthat World series. So it's like,
what are you gonna do? Ijust don't rubs me the wrong way.
You know, it rubs me thewrong way. I don't know. It's

(01:05:54):
interesting. I like calling it asan unbiased because I really have no affiliation
with the Okay, yeah, Iappreciate that, Calvin, thank you for
making the call. Yeah, firstof all, I'm glad you get the
introduction to people from Dallas. That'sjust something that we know here in Texas.
Like Houston is more cosmopolitan, we'remore all about each other, We're

(01:06:15):
more family, and Dallas is moreabout what kind of car you drive,
what kind of house you got.Oh, you're in the country, you
got you get Prada jeans, likea little more. It's a little more
stuck up in the Dallas area.So that's just how it is when I
think Dallas. First thing, Ithink it was Chandler Parsons when he first
got to Dallas and he spiked hishit rot any more of the designer shirts.
Yeah, you got to put onsome dazzled jeans. Yeah, they

(01:06:38):
like as soon as you come intothe city limits. Actually a lot of
people don't know this, they handyou a pair of but dazzled jeans.
That's just how it is in Dallas. But I also, unfortunately will have
to agree with the postgame show overthere on the Rangers side that you cannot
bunt Marcus Simeon there. I meanthat line out Gordy that he hit.
I know you're not necessary. Idon't know if you're a big XBA guy,

(01:06:58):
but seven seventy XBA but went rightto Jeremy Pania. So Astro did
get a little bit lucky there, but at the end of the day,
Brian Presley got it done. Butno, you cannot bunt one of your
best. You're like, your alead off guy. You're not gonna bunt
him in that situation. Kelvin. So I'm sorry if that pushes you off
of us here in Houston and you'recontinue to be a Blue Jays guy,

(01:07:20):
and appreciate you making the call, but you just cannot buy Marcus Hemon in
that situation. How about you knowwe've been giving roses out to Terri Bay
all night. We kind of talkedabout him, but I'm just I'm like
running through the box score and justcatch it up. Like two shutout innings
for Ryan Presley. Yes, forall the heartache and just nervousness we had
with him throughout the year, didget two singles with no out. I

(01:07:43):
know it was a nervous moment tonight. Yeah, three strikeouts and not one
run. Just incredible, incredible jobfor him. Yeah, and to come
on with two guys on bait. And that's the thing Ryan Presley, Normally,
I don't have the numbers in frontof me with just like a gut
feeling like if he comes on andit's not a clean inning, sometimes it
feels like it can go a littlehay wire for him. So he comes
in after the fracas, after thebench is clear, he warms up and

(01:08:09):
he like cools off because Dusty Bakeris still arguing with Marvin Hudson. He's
and he's like standing there like yeah, yeah, yeah, he sat down
the seat and uh, the parkcomes over and goes Dusty rejected. You
gotta go, dude. Press isjust standing on the hill like all right,
Dusty, Uh, you know,I'm ready to go whenever Ye're ready.
To go. But this is whatmakes the postseason great. I mean

(01:08:29):
both closers came into the game tonightin the eighth. Yes, you know
you're asking to get multiple, multipleouts and pitch multiple innings to get the
job done. And uh, Curtisand pressing Man and yeah, absolutely he
was your Rudy's barbecue relief picture ofthe game. Let's keep it going on
the phone line seven one three twoone two five seven ninety. We keep
going on terms of longest wait.So next up is Erica and Katie on

(01:08:51):
the x Finity listener lines. What'sup? Erica, Hi, So I'll
try to keep this short, butI'm just pretty I don't know. It's
hard for me to believe that notone person, unless I'm wrong, I
have not heard one person mentioned Greykessingercoming cold off the bench and making that

(01:09:14):
Carlos Carea like play and with noout and two guys on and who knows
how that could have changed that ninthinning. Yeah, that's a that's a
great point, Erica. You arethe first one to bring it up,
but absolutely was a was a hugemoment in the game. And I think
it was NFL dot COM's Lance's airline, Gordy tweeting out like thanks to Greg

(01:09:38):
Kessinger's parents for being tall, Likehe had to leap up and get that
one man. Like that was definitelya situation where I was like, uh
oh, that one was screamed offthe line. And that was the one
that was seven to seventy XBA offof Marcus Marcus Simeon's bat so grey Kessinger
coming up huge. He's absolutely like, this game is gonna have the headliner

(01:10:00):
hero of Jose Altuve, and there'sgonna be a number of other unsung heroes
the John Singleton's the on your ideasand great Kessinger on that list. Erica,
all right, Yeah, I justthe way that I look at it
is like people would have definitely noticedif he had missed it, you know.
And I feel like it's one ofthose things that you don't appreciate because
it didn't go south. You're right, Yeah, you're absolutely results oriented thinking

(01:10:24):
can plague the mind. Erica appreciateyou getting in and yeah, thankfully Greg
Kessinger was able to make that play. And I mean out of like Greg
Kessinger getting called. You know thatmeme where the guy points to himself like
me, right, a great Cassingerin He's like me, Okay, I'm
rewatching the play. There was therewas one out runners first and okay it
was one out. Sorry, wasn'tthe semi the guy the guy who was

(01:10:45):
on second? Yeah, this isSimeon? Okay okay, oh no,
no, I'm sorry yeh zero nosorry, yeah I was. I was
watching on replay and they got butno, yeah, two on. Nobody
out and yeah, Simeon just ripsit and and that ball, I mean
it is it is headed for leftfield and Kessinger just makes an incredible leap.

(01:11:05):
And if that ball gets through rossyou know who. Yeah, it
was hit so hard. Nobody out? Yeah, yeah, one, yeah,
it was hit. It was smokedso hard you probably don't score a
run there. But bases loaded,no out? Not good? Well first
and second with one out much preferable. So yeah. Tip of the cap

(01:11:26):
for sure to great Kessinger for beingone of the unsung heroes of this one
seven one three two one two fiveseven ninety. The Exfanity listener lines,
we shall continue with Matthew on amobile here on the Tenthenning Show. What's
up Matthew? Hey, guys, how's it going. That was amazing when
my heart has finally slowed down.I wish we could uh heard what Dusty

(01:11:51):
was saying to those umps on thefield. Uh. I was worried the
guy was gonna have a heart attack. And but they had it coming,
you know, whatever he was tellinghim, they had it coming. I
mean, Carter was already on base. He was given a free base by

(01:12:13):
the home play dunk by you know, not calling those strikes. And anyway,
Erica beat me to the punch.I wanted to give profts to the
Kessinger guy. I've never even heardof him, and and you know,
I mean he doesn't make that catch, right, who knows what happened.
So I did give that guy arose too. Yeah, And I guess

(01:12:41):
that's that's about all I got tosay. But that was a great win.
Of course, you know those AL two B. I mean,
god, amazing. So anyway,I appreciate y'all, show man. I
appreciate what y'all do. All right, thank you, Matthew, appreciate you.
Yeah, grape of Kraley Kessing ahuge sec guy. The funny thing
is, yeah, graver Crowleer CrowleyKessinger sounds like you went to ole miss.

(01:13:04):
How about this, though, Russ, These were sentences we actually uttered
in September. Why is John Singletonon this roster? Why is Greg Kessinger
on this roster? Yes? Yes, yes, we're fans in September.
Yes, and both those guys comingup big for this team late tonight.
Man, It's just funny how itworks. It's just sometimes it's a mix,

(01:13:25):
right in these some of these playoffgames, in these situations, it's
the one you most suspect in joseL two V. And it's some of
the ones you least suspect John Singletonand Greg Kessinger coming up in a pivotal
Game five with the series tied toa piece. It takes everybody. And
that's what's so hard. I mean, baseball, there's so many different guys
that could contribute. You know,we had uh I think Stan was asking

(01:13:47):
me the other day, you know, all right, who who needs to
step up tonight? And this wasbefore I think Game four or three.
He goes, who needs to comeup big? And I said, it
really doesn't matter, like you know, as long as somebody comes up.
That's what's amazing about baseball. Yeah, well that's what's amazing about this team
as well. It's like you youcan have any no Chas McCormick with a
two run shot last night, orI mean JOSEH Bray with a three run

(01:14:09):
shot. You have the the usualsuspects that Jordon Alvarez is the jose L
two Vays, uh, and towell to a lesser unfortunately these playoffs,
the Kyle Tuckers, but then youhave so many other guys that can come
up in big situations. Uh.And that's just really what this team is
all about, and really one ofthe reasons that this team has has been

(01:14:30):
as successful as they have been inthis incredible, incredible run. They should
never have to pay for a mealor drink. Eccues was he already paid?
I hope that's not no series.I'll get the wall one out.
Let's go. Sure. Actually,he makes me way more than I do.
He can he can handle it allright, seven one three two one
two five seven ninety the phone number. Uh, you guys are keeping the

(01:14:53):
phone lines juiced, and we appreciateyou for that. So we'll keep it
going with Tyson and Katie. Nextup, what's up? Tyson? Hey,
guys, how's it going and thatwas probably the greatest game I've ever
listened to on the radio. Thatwas fantastic. I don't, I don't.
I can't stand to watch the nationalTV show broadcasting of the games anymore,
just listen to the radio. ButI'm kind of this is this is

(01:15:15):
like my world series for me becauseI grew up in Dallas Fort Worth.
My first game, I got tosee Nolan Ryan, you know, pitch
his seventh and last note hitter. And then our family we moved to Corpus
Christie and that's when you know, they built the hook Stadium and I got
to see you know, uh,Altuve and Coorea and Bragman and Guriel and

(01:15:35):
just coming up and uh and thenwe my wife got a job here in
Houston, and man, I've beena hardcore Astros fan since you know,
twenty fifteen. But just listening tothis game side it was, uh,
it was I couldn't tell because ifhe got the home run because his car

(01:15:57):
he was screaming so much, likeis it? Why was it? He
got it? Did he want? You know? It was just he was
just going keep on gone, It'sgone. Yeah, it's I just couldn't
hear on that. I got alittle radio in the garage and listened to
But anyway, I think, uh, my player of the game it was
Dusty Baker, and I think heI think he knew what he was doing

(01:16:21):
out there when he was out therearguing. Uh, he was ice,
he was icing that picture. Heknew, he knew what was going on,
you know. And uh, that'sall I wanted to say. Man,
And uh great, y'all. Guysare great. Y'all have a good
one. Uh, thank you.I have another Crawford back and there you

(01:16:44):
go. That's what I'm talking about. How about that Gordy Tyson enjoying a
nice cold Crawford back at the endof this one. Well, that's what
we all should be doing. Ikind of wish I had one right now.
They have and I see the carback little patio up there here,
but I don't think they're serving right. No. Yeah, you had a
tap of caag and maybe we justhead over there. Yeah, in the
in the left field. Over herein left field, that Global life field,
they do have a car Bock Brewingcompany. Uh. Stop, we're

(01:17:08):
not store, but a brick andmortar type of facade. I guess whatever
you want to call it so,and maybe I have to check that out
on the way on the way outof here. Thanks to Carbock Brewing for
having us out here in Arlington andat Globe Life Field, where we continue
to broadcast the Astros tenth inning showat seven one three two one two five
seven ninety seven one three two onetwo five seven ninety If you have not

(01:17:30):
heard, you're living under a rock. Astros win five to four after a
three run home run off the batof jose Al Twove, and we're gonna
keep it going. On the phonelines with Adam in Roe, Sharon,
what's up, Adam? Hey,what's up? Guys? Uh? Man,
I'm pumped up. Man. Ifeel like a Pashino in that movie.
Uh scar face. Hey, Iwanted to give up. I want

(01:17:51):
to give us No man, noman, Man. Dusky is the mastermind.
Man, He's just the student ofthe game. Man. It's incredible.
Man. I don't know if hehe's the one that called out them
guys out there on on on onon Singaton and the other guy. Man,

(01:18:12):
dude, that was that. Thatwas just amazing, man. And
from all to it. Man,those are the funny moments, man,
Those those those moments right there arethe ones that define the player. He
is man, He's he's the firstbat Hall of Famer man. And that's
it. Thank you man, Thankyou well Adams getting you get attle emotional
over there at the end. Thatsound like, I gotta be honest,

(01:18:34):
just between just between you and me, Guardy. When Altuve hit that home
run, I got a little emotional, I did. Yeah. I mean
it was like, this is incredible, this is unbelievable death. What are
the hammer guys do this? Youknow, we're huddled waiting to go to
the club house with all the cameraguys down there and the news guys,

(01:18:54):
and one of the camera guys calledhis son and he was teary eyed because
he heard his son's celebrating and oneof those that's cool man, those moments,
you know, everybody said, Imean, it's it chills, like
from from what al two Ve hasmeant to this team. And just to
give you some perspective, in theclubhouse just now before Clinton and I came
upstairs, you know, tuove andwent to the had went to the podium,

(01:19:15):
did the whole thing. Everybody kindof interviewed everybody and there were just
a few people still kind of hangingaround. Altov just walks in and he
is just a dude, Like he'sthe most unassuming super or you know,
uh superstar you'll ever see. Anduh, he was walking towards the showers
and Bregnant yelled at him, Heytwo V and they were just kind of
laughing together and having a moment. It's just it's just that, like seen

(01:19:39):
in person, you're like, thisdude's just like you know, any other
person would have the bravado about it, like, yeah, I did that
for the team. I put theteam on my back. Whatever. He
doesn't want any of the attention, like and those celebrations he ducks out like
it's just he doesn't want to bethe center of attention. He is as
humble as as they come. AndGordy, you know this too because we've

(01:20:01):
dealt with him, like in thesescenarios where we go to Astros fan fest
and he has to sign all theseautographs and and all this other stuff or
talking to him and get him onthe phone and all that. He's just
as nice and polied as he ison camera as he is off camera.
He just is It was funny.I think Clinton was trying to get him
to do. Uh, he wastrying to get him for his Good Morning
Houston video. Yeah, and Iwas like, look, he's not gonna

(01:20:23):
do He didn't want to do anythinglike that. He's just not him like
he's not, he's not. Hewants nothing to do with limelight. Yet
it just happens too. When youplay Major League baseball, you have to
be in the limelight. Like Valtubedidn't have to talk to the meet or
do anything. And it's not thathe's like rude about it or it's just
he doesn't he doesn't want any ofthat. He just wants to go play

(01:20:43):
baseball. And again today in thepregame where he shifts the focus to a
bray, you how about a brayyou know, it's like he wants to
put all the Shinows teamates. Didyou see when he scored, he runs
up to John Singleton, pats himand goes, yeah, give him the
praise. If Singleton doesn't work thewalk, then my home run doesn't mean
as much. It's like that heis everything you want. And it's a
damn shame Ross when we come tothese stadiums and hear booze and all that

(01:21:06):
whatever. It's a damn shame. You know that still exists their loss.
And that's what makes him even greaterto me, is that he is somebody
who has every right to be bitterand upset and make things about himself,
and he doesn't do any of it, just as humble as they come.
Jose Al Tuvey, John northwest Sidenext up on the x fending the listener

(01:21:26):
lines on the tenthning show, What'sup John? Hey man, I'm so
glad it's my turn. I couldn'tgo to sleep man until I got in.
Hey, look man, look hereman. A couple of things.
Man. You know, gotta becareful man, with some of them undercovered.
Range of fans called me in andthe dope kid. But look at
this is what I want to say. Follow me on this. You guys

(01:21:48):
ever saw that movie with James Cobenand Charles Brost and call Hard Times.
You never saw it? Okay, you gotta see it. He was a
street I'll put it in you.You gotta see it. He was.
He was a street by the doingthe depression time and he beat everybody.
And when he walked off to geton the train and leave, leave,

(01:22:10):
James Coben and the little guy seeit. Uh, he sure was something,
wasn't he? And he sure issomething that to bay Main, he
still have that magic man, thatguy right there, that guy man.
I think that guy man for memoriesI have the rest of my life.
Man. Hey, y'all have agood name. All right, thanks a

(01:22:33):
lot, appreciate it, John, and thank you for getting in. Yeah,
it's like anything that we can sayabout Al two A is probably not
enough, Like we kind of don'teven really though, not only does Houston
not deserve the world doesn't deserve him. He's just too pure of heart.
He's just too cool. He's justtoo awesome, too clutch for a little
guy. I mean, he's oneof He's not one of them in a

(01:22:53):
million, he's one in like he'sone in seven billion. He's just one
of a kind. Yeah. Andthe success that this guy's to I mean,
just this phenomenal run and you knowthat they're there're been books written,
but there need to be more bookswritten about. Yeah, just the culture
that the Astros have created that youcan over the years lose a Springer,
lose a Korea, Yeah, loseyou know, Yulie, lose a J

(01:23:15):
Hinch, Garrett Cole bringing Dusty Baker, bringing Verlind temporarily, Yeah, bringing
Josea Breves. You know all theseguys. You interchange guys every year,
yet it's the same result, andit's the same product every year. It's
crazy, Yeah, insane, insane, And uh, well we did they
did lose aj Hinch, but nowDusty Baker is at the Helm, does
have more franchise playoff wins now thana J. Hinch did. And speaking

(01:23:40):
of the man himself, let's goahead and get some clubhouse audio. This
is brought to you by Academy Sportsand Outdoors. Here's Dusty Baker after a
wild wild win and after getting ejectedfive to four over the Rangers in Game
number five. Here's Dusty Dusty whenall two days coming to the point in

(01:24:00):
these big time situations, what comesto your mind? It seems like he
just, well, just get agood pace to hit, and he gets
a good pace to hit. Youknow, he could lose it and he
sees the ball. Well here,I mean that was and then the next
thing, I just didn't I didn'twant to left fielder to reach over the
wall like like Tavarius did the otherday. And uh, you know,

(01:24:21):
I mean that was big by Presley, that was big hit by Diaz,
and a big walk with you know, with Singleton, you know, to
give us a chance, and youknow that was that was a huge,
huge victory that I mean, thisis a this is you know, this
will go down in history far backon your left, Dusty, Dusty,

(01:24:45):
I guess this notion that a brayyou hit Garcia on purpose. I was
just wanted to get your reaction andhow you well you saw my reaction already,
yeah, you know, I meanthat was it didn't make any sense
to me. I mean, wegot to run game and they explained to
me that, you know, theguy just hit a three run homer,
but that was a mistake that hehit a three run homer. His ball

(01:25:08):
was down and then and he wasn'ttrying to go down then, and uh
you know, uh, you know, we pitch him up, and we
pitch him up and end. Andanytime you're throwing the projectile ninety seven miles
an hour, some am I gonnaget away. I don't care if you're
Big League Hall of Fame, Idon't care who you are. And you
know, I'm just glad we cameback, you know, and won the

(01:25:29):
game. You know, the guyswere with us because you know, we
didn't we didn't do anything wrong.And I can understand. I was talking
blue spotcha. I think I canunderstand how he would take exception to that,
because nobody likes to get hit.But you're certainly not gonna you know,
add runs on in the ninth inning, in the in the in the
playoffs, and we're trying to we'retrying to win the game. I mean

(01:25:50):
this, I just you know, how do you prove intent? I mean,
that's that's what That's what I don'tI don't understand. And I am
been that mad in a long time, and uh, you know, I
don't usually get mad about nothing. So I'm just glad that, you know,
we won the game, and uhit turned out right for us.

(01:26:12):
Go to the serd row on yourleft. Dusty Mouldonado said that that fraucus
kind of woke the Astros up.Is that what you saw at the team?
I don't know. I didn't see. I wasn't saying nothing. I
was just seeing red, you know, and so you know I couldn't even
see straight because I was just butI mean, I hope it did you

(01:26:33):
know, and uh, that's whatit takes some time. I guess you
gotta do it to serve row. You're right here, hey, Dusty with
Jose again. Why do you thinkhe's able to calm himself down and deliver
in these big moments? Mmm?Number one, he wants to be up
there, and number two, he'shad a high concentration level, because that's

(01:26:56):
what it takes in big moments likethat, This concentration, desire in and
relaxation, all uh encompassing one andeverybody can't do all three of those things.
And so uh, I mean, this dude is one of the baddest
dudes I ever I ever seen.I've seen some some greats. Cook far
back on your left again, howmuch did you wrestle with keeping Verlander out?

(01:27:19):
There? Was there a lot ofno, no, no, because
like we had the we were tryingto get through the six, you know,
and then and then the left fielderhit that ball by Bregman. You
know that could have been right, that was barely by him. You know,
they had some some balls that werebarely I mean the one pitch that
that Verlander uh, you know therehe made like three mistakes. He made

(01:27:41):
one uh a slider uh to Sigurtto start that inning and uh, and
then the ball came down and inon on on uh uh on dollars where
you don't pitch him. And thenthe other one, Uh, he missed
location and that ball is off theplate on the home run, you know
by low. But you know theydidn't they didn't miss the mistakes. I

(01:28:05):
mean, this guy was Dela.I mean he was in you know,
a year in that bridge time ofthe game, in the six and seventh,
but you don't really want to goto your back end the bullpen.
But you don't want to, youknow, go to you know, you
know, you want to stick withyour high leverage guy. So the things
go well in that sixth inning. Then I got a fresh Naris Bray you

(01:28:30):
and Pressley. So then sometimes whenyou plan, the other team messes up
your plans. I think your closer'soutside. So we'll see in Houston,
all right, I'll see you there. I'm still on the field. Yeah.
Hopefully Dusty doesn't get suspended for Gamenumber six of the playoffs. I
don't think he will. And youheard him talk about how fired up he

(01:28:55):
was and how upset he got, said he was seeing red and he's right.
He said it himself. He's notonly somebody that just comes after everybody
and and gets thrown out. Heis you know, look at all the
numbers about him as far as ejections. He doesn't have a whole lot of
ejections in his career. But hewas upset in that moment, and rightfully
so, because I just don't thinkthat Brian a Bra you was thrown out

(01:29:15):
a Dolas Garcia in that situation. It was stupid, like they they they
they need to go check themselves about, like, oh, well you hit
the home runner earlier. And hecelebrated that's not a Doulas Garcia problem.
That's not a Bra problem. Likeyeah, I mean, but but I
pray you getting ejected, he wasshaky with two runners on with nobody out.

(01:29:38):
Did that save the game for theAstros? Funny? Oh it works
out pretty crazy? All right,we're gonna take a bottom of the hour
break here on the tenth ending Showpresented by Xfinity. My name is Ross
vii OU. Chris Gordy is hereas well. Phone lines are jam but
we do need to take a breakhere as we continue talking about the Astros
miraculous five to four win over theTexas Rangers. Now come home with a

(01:30:02):
three to two series lead, Gamenumber six Sunday here on Sports Talk seven
ninety. But they went and we'llcontinue talking about it here on the tenth
Inning Show on Sports Talk seven ninety. Your Home for your Stros. Back

(01:30:29):
ninety. Ye Presley works on thefirst base side of the Rubbers, the
two to two swinging and a mess. Carter strikes out and that is the
ball game. What a win forthe Houston Astros. There one went away
from a third trip to the WorldSeries. Jose Al Twoveo go ahead three
run homer in the top of thenight and the Astros hold on for a

(01:30:53):
five to four win over the TexasRangers. Take a three games to two
lead in the ALCS. I meanthat ninth in and Gordy Mitch Garver with
a seeing I mean the seeing icesingle of all seeing ice singles to I
mean right between Bregman and Paine orwell Kessinger. At that point jonaheime with

(01:31:16):
the hard hit single to write.Simeon lines out thankfully to Grey Kessinger.
Seeger flies out on a ball thatis a home run in two out of
thirty parks. I mean he gota hold of it, but it wasn't
enough. And then the strikeout swingingby Evan Carter. Really when Segar flied

(01:31:39):
out, and I was like,Okay, the Astros are gonna win this
game. I'm okay. And thenBrian Presley taking care of business, gets
the six out win for the Astrosas they defeat the Texas Rangers in a
miraculous come from behind wild wild onehere in Arlington to take a three to
two series lead in the America LeagueChampionship Series. And I've just gotten word

(01:32:03):
the man himself is on. Youknow what, we always have this unspoken
thing myself and Matt Thomas, andit's kind of bizarre. Literally the end
of the last segment, I'm like, you know what, I wonder if
Metal call in and the dude callsin, Matt Thomas, how you feeling?
First of all the rockets one,I literally not have not left the

(01:32:25):
Totus Center yet, So I wantto I want to ask you a question,
first and foremost, Yes, andGory and I have never had this
conversation, but you and I havehad this conversation five million to times watch
who is the greatest aster of themical? Well, if you were to checked
your your Twitter feed, if youdon't have me muted Matt at Sports RV,

(01:32:49):
you would have your answer. Iblocked you a long time ago.
What did you say? I said, I'm actually trying to find it.
I believe my words were something tothe effect of I have packed my bags
and booked my ticket off of BagwellIslands. That's awesome. So let me

(01:33:10):
explain. I think tonight was anight that a lot of people will have
Where were you when that happened? And there have been a handros. Let
me explain mine. So it happenedabout what seven oh six, seven oh
seven thereabouts, And it's my turnduring the Rockets broadcast to announce, to
do the lineups for each of theteams and the coaches and whatnot, And

(01:33:30):
so I knew what was happening iswe had the television mon around on our
broadcast spot. But I said,I can't look at the screen because I
want to focus announcing the five guysfor each team. So I'm running to
the ops and as soon as I'mdone, I turned to my right and
I see Al Tuobe running the Ucircling the bases. I was speechless,

(01:33:53):
and I said, WEX And Isaid, it's literally on the air.
I can't be speechless, but Ican't. I literally can't believe what I
just saw. So that was mymoment in time. I'm sure you've had
a lot of people say the samething, but here I'm trying to do
a mundane the pre season and ohmy god, I'm running to the lineups
from a Bamana Bayo and Tyler Heroand I watched jose L Tuove with one

(01:34:15):
of the greatest moments in the historyof the Houston Astros organization. Yeah,
absolutely, Matt. And to whatyou're talking about there, First of all,
from where we were, we couldn'ttell if Evan Carter caught it,
and they're the the the Astros fanswere so loud in here, we weren't
sure that it wasn't caught. Soit was kind of a little bit of
confusion down here for for for ushere in the press box. But then
it happens. But to what you. You brought up to me and I

(01:34:39):
found the tweet. I said,I've blooked my flight off a bagwell hill.
All hell, jose Al Tuove,You've been in this business a long
time, Matt. You've seen alot of ups and downs in these sports,
and you've seen the elajah Ones andthe and the Nolan Ryans and the
It said, like, we cango on and on down the list,
but how about I mean, justgo ahead and just tell the city of

(01:34:59):
Houston and what you see from joseAl to Ve. For a guy that
wears it worse than anybody on theroad, but has been here through thick
and thin, was here when theywere losing one hundred games. To come
to the heights that he does andto come through in these moments, what's
that like to watch despite the facthe is one of the worst base runners
we've ever seen ever wear Houston form. Let's not forget that part. I'll

(01:35:24):
just put it this way, andI want to I know a lot of
other people want to talk to you, guys. I'll keep it brief.
If there is such a thing assame Mount Rushmore of Houston athletes, there's
two guys by themselves on that rushmore, it's Elijah On and it's al Tuo
Bay and we've had tens of hundredsof amazing Houston athletes. But what Jose

(01:35:45):
Altube has done in the clutch moments, just like Elijah Wan helping the Rockets
win two titles, Jose has doneit for this baseball And we were talking
about it at halftime with we werejust having a break. Not only has
he done it, but guys yearafter year after year in tough moments on
the road against closers, in amust win situation, in a do or

(01:36:10):
die in the ninth thing, thereis in a situation that Jose L Twobe
has not come through, just likeElijah On when one of the two championships
came through in the clutch moments. There, those two gentlemen, to me
are all by themselves. And we'vegot a lot of other great athletes in
our town, from Earl to Nolanto JJ Watt to all of them,

(01:36:30):
those two gentlemen will be by themselvesas the supreme athletes that have ever done
to Houston uniform in my lifetime inHouston, Texas. All right, well,
thank you, Matt, appreciate yougetting in and well we'll talk to
you. Well, I'll talk toyou tomorrow man at Tdeco Stadium. Right,
No, the game has been postponing. I'm sorry to hear that.

(01:36:53):
Okay, Well, that's okay.Well, the best spot in the biz
is gonna miss his work then,Yeah, all the pregame show at two
o'clock and I'm probably gonna be homelesssleep by three fifteen. All right,
there you go, the one andonly Matt Thomas. Appreciate him joining us,
And yeah, I mean, Ijust feel like we could Gordy stay

(01:37:14):
on until midnight just saying nice thingsabout Jose Altuve, and it just wouldn't
be enough. Yeah, I mean, I hate to send the memo out
to Jeff Bagwell and Craig Visio, but greatest as that might be over.
Yeah, I think I probably wasalone by myself the last one on Bagwell
Hill. But I I have putlaid down my arms. I no longer
stand on Bagwell Hill. All hailJose Altuve. Seven one three seven ninety.

(01:37:42):
Let's keep it going. On thex Fitity, the listener lines John
on the southwest side, what's up? Hi, Ross and Chris, you'all
talked touched it earlier. About Singleton'sthat bad. I really love this team
because I saw how toov and thedugout. I mean, give Singleton a
couple of chess bumps for you know, getting that walk to help set up

(01:38:05):
what happened at any I mean, this team, they just discover each other.
I love it. Yeah, absolutely, John, That's been one of
the keys of the success. Andyou know, it feels like every media
scrum we get into Gordy, especiallywhen they come deep into the playoffs and
the national people come and they almostall of them ask like the same question,
what's been the key to success? What is the key to these postseason

(01:38:27):
runs that you guys go on.And the answer has always just been it's
the community, the family, theselflessness, the playing for each other,
the culture, all those types ofthings. And it starts with hose al
Tuve. It always does. Andagain he's the straw that starves the drink.
We saw at the start of theseason when he was out there,

(01:38:47):
you know, astors just they didn'tfeel the same right. And as good
as as Jordan Alvarez has been,he's had plenty of heroic moments as well.
It starts, It starts with twentyseven it starts with those and so
yeah, man, I mean justyou can't say enough about him and and
and what a what a clutch clutchmoment. It's just it just felt like

(01:39:08):
it was building towards that and anda monumental game. Ross, because if
they lose this one and you're goingback to Houston down three to two,
it's not it's not with rober onthe hail games X. Yeah, it's
not out of the realm of possibilitythat you can get it done. But
man, just you feel like you'rein such a much better spot because of
it. Absolutely. It's just it'ssuch a relief. You get the day

(01:39:30):
off, you have, I mean, so much more pressure off on a
game. Quite frankly, Astros shouldhave lost this game, but they didn't
because of Jose freaking al to eightnumber twenty seven wearing orange. Well,
we'll get into it. You know, Dan will be doing Space City Saturday
tomorrow from ten to noon, andI think he'll start to turn the page
and look to Sunday. But youknow, Jordan Montgomery did his thing against

(01:39:54):
you today and Nathan Ivaldi he's gonnabe tough again on sun Sunday. He's
one of the better postseason pictures inthe game right now. So, uh,
the job is not finished yet,but yeah, we're gonna continue to
enjoy this one because man, itwas just it was one in such epic
fashion. What time are they goingto kick you guys out of the stadium?
I mean, why don't we're doingall night? Dan? I was
gonna say, I mean, youknow, if I need to nod off

(01:40:15):
for an hour or two, that'sall all need and then you know,
we can just keep it going.Because the Astros own this ballpark, They've
actually named named sports Talks of theNight. We're now the official radio station.
We're the flagship. Yeah, we'rethe flagship. And right center field
coming down. Yeah, we're theflagship of global life field. Now,
all right, let's keep it goingout on the phones. Let's see holding
the longest. Next up is Justinin the Woodlands. What's up justin there?

(01:40:41):
Just going on? Guys. Look, I know Dusty catches a lot
of crab during the earth for hislineups and everything else. But last year
he left Lambs Colors in and lethim get shelled. And he said after
the interview, I don't know,a couple of games later that The hardest
thing he ever had to do islet Lambs take that whooping. But what
did what did a boat you do? Last game? He pulled Heeney out

(01:41:05):
like what first inning to let hisbullpen get wrecked and we took advantage tonight.
All I'm saying is Dusky's got theavantage. Let's go Strows all right,
justin thanks a lot, appreciate it. Yeah, it's been the story.
One of the storylines of the series, Gordy is hey get to the

(01:41:28):
bullpen, get to the bullpen, and even the guys that they have back
there. I mean, La Clarkhas been shaky at times in this series
and throughout the season. Earldest Chapmancame out like gangbusters at first in a
Rangers uniform and he was really goodas a royal, but he's had a
lot of moments where he's been blowinggames Will Smith as well. Like that
has been the storyline here. Sothe Astros getting to that bullpen. Unfortunately,

(01:41:51):
Jordan Montgomery did get to five andthe third innings, but they went
to Bores, who has been hitable by the Astros, but he took
care of business. But it justfeels like you give us like three or
four relievers, they're gonna get toone of them. Well that's what a
chandeler Room tweeted, I think yesterdayhe said, the the Rangers have five
pitchers they trust, four of thempitched tonight. Yeah, you know that

(01:42:14):
this this set up perfectly for them. This is exactly what they wanted.
They wanted Montgomery to go five plus, they wanted Spores, Chapman, lak
Clark. That was the you know, those three guys that that's that was
the formula in game won uh andand they won that one to nothing,
and that was the formula they wantedto go with tonight. But the reality
is the only other guy they trust, you know, he's gonna go on

(01:42:35):
Sunday in Avaldi and then we'll seewhat combination of sports Chapman ll Clerk come
back for that one. But yeah, I mean that these are the these
are four of their most trustworthy pitchersand all the other guys the Asters have
teed off against. So yeah,it's it's just this thing will be really
interesting. Ross. I mean, even if let's just look ahead, if

(01:42:57):
Avaldi does win on Sunday, uhhuh, you have to come back day.
Who were they gonna throw I thinkare again. I mean I think
you hoped that. I think youhope that he got a little stretched out.
You hope that he's worked out someking. That would be my guess
is that Bruce Bochi would back tohim. Yeah, they hit him for
five and five runs and four innings, but it wasn't Yeah, it was

(01:43:17):
exactly some of the maybe, though, I would imagine the hope would be
that some of the rust was knockedoff and he maybe he can give you
something and then it's all hands ondeck on a game seven anyways, So
they would be willing to throw Uthe entire kitchen sink at the Astros,
the the John Grays, the DaneDunnings, the the Martin Perezes and top
of their leverage guys that they wouldthrow at the Astros. So somebody posted

(01:43:42):
a they met Jose at BUCkies? Is that are some of the players driving
back on their own to that? That's kind of funny. Jose Brady's like,
I'm getting home, I'll see youlater. Is that real? He's
like in a flashy T shirt.Hey man, when you gotta go,
you gotta go. That's a goodspot to stop. I'm just saying we
all know. That's what we Texansknow for sure. I mean that is
an all time that's great advertisement forBUCkies there, even the world champs stopping

(01:44:06):
BUCkies. Alright, we'll give itgoing on the phone lines. You guys
are getting in, We're gonna getyou on. That's how it works.
Seven one three, two one twofive, seven ninety. It's an all
time game. So we're gonna staywith you, and we're gonna stick with
you and hopefully we'll have an alltime postgame show as it rolls along here
presented by Xinity, The tenth EnningShow on Sports Talk seven ninety with Robert

(01:44:29):
on a mobile. What's up,hey, guys, I mean I don't
even know where to start hearing aboutyou know how all too? Bey's greatest
of all time? Yeah? Absolutely, But I want to talk about what
what are their key factors going intothe next couple games? Obviously, I

(01:44:53):
think I've said it since the beginning. Dusty's key. I like dubond He's
key, Bullpen obviously key. Whatwhat are we looking to you next?
I feel good about it? Thanksguys, all right, thanks a lot,
Robert, I mean absolutely, Uh, Gordia here's a little preview of
a key to a win for theon Deck show on Sunday, getting good

(01:45:13):
from Valdez. That's that's absolute paramountnumber freaking one. Yeah, well look
if again, just such a triptonight in the clubhouse, he's he's dancing
around, singing, and like he'sjust it's always loose. He's always loose
until he gets on the mound. He gets to a jam and then well
he hits a guy who's getting squeezedby the ump. Like he just needs

(01:45:35):
to stay on script. If ifhe can stay on script, then he's
gonna go out there and he's gonnagive you, like seven ing's a one
run ball. If he gets offscript, he's getting I mean, if
he gets this umpiring that we gottonight. This was atrocious. Both sides
was so bad. I don't knowhow they fix it. It's again you
you want a consistent strike strike zone, right, I mean like you always

(01:45:57):
you always say, okay, wellif it's established that you're calling this a
strike, and they could do itcontinuously. But tonight, I mean,
look, a bunch of them wentagainst the Astros. There were a few
that favored the Astros tonight that therewere ball. You know, a pitch
thrown where he previously be called astrike and throw the same spot and calls
it a ball. I mean,it was just all you ask for is
consistency from your home point umpire. It's gonna be a big strike zone,

(01:46:20):
it's gonna be a tight strike zone, whatever. But tonight, man,
it was all over the place.Yeah, it's just horrible. And we
do this every postseason. Yeah, post guys, there's a game or two
you look ahad and go God,these umpires suck. Yeah, And every
time I'm like, we got aten billion dollar league here where you've had
Tennis almost about to hit their twentyyear anniversary of using hawkeye, and you

(01:46:42):
can't get it together because of traditionand because of the love of the game.
We love the human element, whichjust directly translates to we love getting
calls wrong. All right, anyways, I'll get off of that soapbox for
right now. Let's keep it goingon the phone lines. Let's focus on
your Houston astros. Jose al Tuvegetting it done, Ryan Presley, John
Single, eleven d As, anumber of guys coming up huge for your

(01:47:02):
astros to get the five to fourvictory over the Rangers, and let's keep
it doing it on the ex Infinity. The listener lines with the friend of
the show magic in the spring here, imagine, how are things and how
about the Mastros? Oh man,I'll tell you what seas. First of
all, it's a long time sinceI've seen you guys down at the Delhi.
But you say it was a miraculouswin. But I just agree,

(01:47:28):
it's an exciting win. I've justcome to expect them to win. I
was watching on TV and ninth INNY. I was like, you know what
I'm getting in my car. Igot to hear it on the radio,
Swear to God, got into mycar and just hearing the excitement of the
calls being played. And really,I called in because it's kind of a
I'm gonna do a little promo here. If you're not following Adam Clinton on

(01:47:50):
Instagram, I wait for those postswhen you know, put some music to
the clips and if you're not followingthem, all your listeners should be following
him on that. Love the show, Love you guys. Yeah, thanks,
imagin Yeah. I was just gonnasay, let me give you a
little peek. He's got something reallyspecial. Coming down the pike tomorrow.

(01:48:11):
That was pretty funny that we happenedto catch in the tunnel outside the Astros
clubhouse. I'll just say it's mascotrelated to the Rangers, but it's really
really funny. That'll be in tomorrow'svideo. Well, I'm looking forward to
it and I love listening to youguys, and y'all have a great night,
great job done. All right, thanks a lot. How about that?
Madge is like, you know what, I got to hear this on
the radio. Let's go. Iwas trying to find the tweet. We

(01:48:32):
had a guy who tweeted us afew nights ago and said that he he
said he needed to change up thevibes, like needed to change things up,
and he was gonna go listen onSports Talk seven night. Here it
is h Town Badger is his name. He said, I'm gonna try something
different and listen on Sports Talk toseven ninety instead of watching. Maybe luck
changes for the Astros. This wasa few nights ago, and then yesterday

(01:48:55):
he tweeted, well, damn, now I gotta keep listening on the radio.
I can't watch the game. Welltonight, he tweeted, Uh,
he tweeted at sports tucks seven toninety. I have to keep only listening.
Yes, h Town Badger, youhave to only keep this singing on
the radio. We need you onthis. Yeah, I gotta keep it
going. Man is so that's funny. He says he knew it was gonna

(01:49:15):
happen, so I wanted to gocheck this. I meant to earlier.
When uh, the Astros came tobat in the ninth it was a ninety
three percent win probability for the Rangers. After all two Vay's home run,
it went to eighty four percent, and then it went back to fifty to
fifty when two guys came on withnobody out in the Astros freaking win.

(01:49:39):
Man, what a crazy crazy Imean my heart rate, I tweeted this
out, Gordy, and it's absolutelyuh true. Like my uh like my
resting heart rate is like sixty threeor something like that. It was up
to one twenty seven when I checkedit on my watch in the ninth inning
when Ryan Presley put those two guyson. To two other things, I
want to add Bill Simmons, ofall people, he tweeted, askers Rangers

(01:50:00):
was the best baseball game I've watchedthis decade. Oh, just a classic.
Let's start with twenty twenty, hesaid, had everything, great win
and an even worse loss for theRangers. I also saw some tweets apparently
Rangers Radio. What they were talkingabout in their post game was the possibility
of why, you know, whatcould we have? Could Simon a bunted
there when we had first and second? Nobody else stupid? And they brought

(01:50:24):
up they said, Simeon's like neverbeen able to lay down or a good
bat, or like, hasn't inforever been able to lay down a good
bunch. You don't pay a guythree D two hundred and fifty million.
What do they give Marcus Simeon whateverthey gave him. You don't pay him
to lay down bunts in that sea. You pay him to crush. He
was out for four in the moment, but like, yeah, you're not

(01:50:45):
you're not bunting. But I mean, look, it's gonna come up when
you lose by one run and youhad two men on nobody out in the
ninth. Yeah, that's that.I'm sorry, hundred only one hundred and
seventy five million dollars. Sorry,I got that money. They got the
pockege he's making over there. Youdon't pay a guy hundred twenty five MILLI
to lay down bunch. You justdon't like I would say the same thing
if we were the Astros in thatsituation. All right, let's take one

(01:51:08):
more ahead of the top of thehour. We're gonna keep a go rolling.
Baby, We've gone two hours. We're gonna go even more because you
folks keep getting on the phone linesand we appreciate you. Starting with David
and Dallas who was at this gameand he was at the Pool's Ledge game
apparently. Yeah, I was atthe Hey, your producers roll back the
audio. We all just gave ashout out to Leedmands Dass for his performance

(01:51:30):
tonight. I know you know whatI might have said, Hey, man,
I'm tired of Casey Candell Man.He brought it tonight. It was
beautiful. Hey, so you knowI agree with Dusty Baker. This is
a history moment. Where were you. I was standing at the back of
section one O eight at Globe LifeField, kind of between home and Third.

(01:51:51):
Yeah, it was it was amazing. Uh. Like I told your
producer, I was at the thePool's Ledge game. Five The year before.
I was at the Edmunds walk offin Saint Louis. So I've seen
some things with the Astros with thesewith these home runs late, and I

(01:52:12):
agree with your last caller, Idon't think there was a miracle win.
Tonight was my first first playoff gamefrom my nine year old son, wearing
his Space City jersey, and hewas tearing up in the eighth inning and
I looked at my I go,kid, there's three more chances. Okay,
I've seen this before. I didn'ttell him about, you know,
some game before he was born, the Poolholes game. I was like,

(01:52:33):
look, four to two, hometeam thinks they're gonna win. There's a
professional team on the other side, with professional players who've been there before,
and all two of ages it was. It was incredible. It was incredible.
So yeah, it was what awhat a great night. And one

(01:52:53):
PostScript on game six, I wasat the I was at the Shrewsburg game
in game six and nineteen. Ifall is not Strasburg, they've had good
success against him as recently as twentyone with the Red Sox, so I
I would be surprised if Evaldi gotthrough five innings less in two runs right
for Game six. I'm not sayingthey're gonna blow the doors off them like

(01:53:15):
they did in Game four, butI don't think it's gonna be as as
good a start as Jordan Montgomery hadtonight. So wow, what a night
and ghost throws man. All right, thanks a lot. I appreciate you,
David, and appreciate you dropping someof that knowledge from the old school
Astros on us. But yeah,Evaldi Gordy in his first game against the

(01:53:38):
Astros in this series, six innings, five hits, three earned runs,
did have nine strikeouts to just onewalk. But the two home runs giving
up to Jordan Alvarez and then AlexBregman, Yeah, they were all solo.
That's what Yeah, that's what stuckmost about it is, you know,
and that's why I was getting onthe Astros to come in. Only

(01:53:58):
didn't show a little bit more playeddiscipline. They had what two walks in
game one, three in game two, you know, if they had a
few more walks and the real runsin that game all solo shots. Yeah.
If I just imagine if you hadone or two guys on for any
of those home runs, you know, that's a different game for Avaldi.
So yeah, that's what kind ofsaid. I almost feel that Sami with
Verlander tonight, Like Verlander pitched aheck of the game until three run shot.

(01:54:20):
You know, three run shot makesyour box score look way different.
Uh, and it sucks for himbecause I thought he I thought he battled
and really pitched. It came outof a couple of tough spots. He
had a couple of runners on andgot like two pitches two outs early on
in the game. So yeah,he did pitch very well. One of
the like we said, the headlinerheroes probably at L two A one,

(01:54:40):
maybe Presley two, uh, maybejustin Verlander deserving some mention in there as
well, of course, including JohnSingleton and then Yan year Diez not a
lead, miss Daz if I ifI misspoke there. Okay, we gotta
take a top of the our break. Phone lines are, jam, Gordy,
We're gonna keep training and rolling.Let's go baby, seven one three,
two, one two five seven ninety. Phone lines will open as we

(01:55:00):
take them seven to one, threetwo one two five seven ninety. Your
astros pull out. Look, youcan say it's not miraculous or whatever,
but we'll just say ninety three percentwin probability. The seven percent came through
tonight thanks to the bat of JoseAl Tuove five to four victory, three
to two. Now in the series, we'll continue talking about it live from

(01:55:21):
Global Global Life Feel thanks to carbochBrewing here on the Astros Tintenning back to
the seven ninety ten inning show, drawn to you by Xfinity ten G made
for streaming live sports on num Croudhome of your Astros Sports Talk seven ninety

(01:55:46):
tenh three in the PM here onSports Talk seven ninety technically into the fourth
hour of the program because we startedlate in the seven, we went to
eight, we went nine. Nowinto the ten. Baby, this has
to be unprecedented unless there's been aWorld Series championship. But you guys are

(01:56:06):
getting on the phones. We lovetalking with you and we want to continue
talking about this all time Astros playoffwin tonight here at Globe Life Field in
Arlington where we are broadcasting and thephone lines are open for you at seven
to one three two one two fiveseven ninety Astros with the five to four
victory. Uh, We've been overa lot of the ins and outs in

(01:56:29):
this one, and well, guesswhat we're gonna continue doing it, Gordy
with Jordan in Oak Forest. What'sup? Jordan? Hey, I just
want to talk about whether you'd gowith Hoavier or from or guy's been unhittable.
I think we all remember Game fourof last year. So yeah,
from Barbod this has been named thegame six starter, and then you'll have
Javey air for Game seven if necessary. Well I understand that, but why.

(01:56:53):
I mean, he's been pitching smokeon hittable Framber's head case. What
are we gonna do about that? That's all I have to say. Okay,
thank you, Yeah, I understand. And and Gordy, I know
you've vectoed a lot of the samesentimens from Jordan, but it is what
it is. Too bad starts doesnot a season make. And I know
it's not just two bad starts thathe's had. He's had a handful of

(01:57:15):
other ones that we can point to. But you also, you don't want
to go with Hobvier because I thenwhat you're playing for games set he's got.
You gotta have a hobby for aGame seven and they get your throw
shures or whatever other bad pitcher theywant to throw it in, and we
kind of talk we talked pre game. If you win, I mean it's
also like it's like free money. If you go out there and you get
good for Amber, that's awesome. If you don't, then you've got Christian

(01:57:38):
Xavier who has been nails in theplayoff for game seven. Yeah, and
and and by the way the schedulesets up, I believe a Game seven
would be Monday. Game one ofthe World Series wouldn't be until next Friday,
so I mean, you got awhole handful of days to reset everything
and set everything up, so uh, you know, and by the way
scoreboard update, Uh, Philly's upfive to three in Arizona right now at

(01:58:01):
the bottom of the eighth So ifthat holds, Phillies will take a three
to one serious lead. And couldwe be staring down the barrel of a
rematch. A lot still needs tohappen, but you know, take care
of their business. Could be lookingat a rematch. I will say though,
just to make the case. Isaw him in the club pause to
night j JP France that I wouldjust he would be my next guy up

(01:58:25):
on Sunday at the first sign oftrouble for fromber Yeah, and uh,
and I would lean on him.JP's maybe you even go with like a
Mayton in an unclean inning. Yeahyeah, oh yeah, you're saying or
whatever, you wouldn't put France intoright out of Framber's fire. But it
just again, like I trust him, Like JP has pitched great all all
years at a couple of hiccups,a couple of bad outings, but yeah,

(01:58:46):
talking to a third scoreless in Minneapolisor no, was that kept you
in that game on right? Onlyone hit? And yeah, JP is
he's the guy who's got ice water. No moment is too big for him.
Remember he made his big league debutout there in Seattle when all those
fans were going nuts and all that, and he uh pitched well that night.
So yeah, I would just thatwould be my thought. I'm okay,

(01:59:10):
you know, because you're you're upin the series. I'm okay with
the thought of going Fromber. Andagain it's like a roll of the dice.
Let's see which Fromber we get onSunday. Well, we've rolled up
bad Fromber twice in the playoffs. That means we're due for a good Fromber.
In game number six seven one three, two, one two five seven
ninety the phone number. Let's keepit going, Brian in Paarland, what
is up? Hey? Row toGordy. First of all, I tweeted

(01:59:35):
you guys yesterday David Artists played thewrong He should have been playing Hearts on
Fire for the Astros from Rocky four. If he wants to play an incorrect
movie. Yeah from Creek two. Some random from Creep. Yeah, the
Hearts on Fire describes this this teamin that game tonight. But I gotta

(01:59:57):
give credit to all the I mean, there was just some amazing defense in
this game too. I mean, let's I mean the train Man Seni moment
for Jose Bray there in the eighth, that ball gets by, that's your
extra insurance run there for the Rangers, and al tuo Vy's home run maybe
gets you to one or ties itup at best. I mean, that

(02:00:18):
was a great play to keep upall in front of him and to get
the out on jan Kowski to beable to get out of that inning.
So that was impressive. I thoughtthe catch by a Doulas Garcia, what
was it in the third inning onBregman when he hit the boss to the
wall. I thought that was anothergapper. I was there last night at
the Global I field. That wasfun to be there for that. I

(02:00:40):
almost now kicked myself that I didn'tget tickets for Game five, but I've
got the last three Alcs Game four, so I got to see three straight
wins in that. So that's kindof my wife and I that's our game
to go to. But I mean, obviously a'l two A being the goat,
But how about Presley wasn't anticipating comingin in the eighth how to get
a two inning basically saved slash winthere, clean up a Brady's mask,

(02:01:05):
get out of that, and thenyou know, create a little bit of
traffic for himself and then a greatplay there by Greg Cassinger. I mean
he doesn't snag that that could havepossibly been the tying run there. So
just an awesome win. I mean, it's like they said, one for
the record books. But yeah, just David Artists needs something to play on
Monday. Hearts on fire, allright, thank you, all right,

(02:01:29):
Brian, I appreciate it. Andyeah, that's just like the story of
this game. Like I kind ofjokingly tweeted, like you could write a
book. There'll be songs written aboutthis this game books even like so many
plays like did Jeremy Penia making adiving stop and the Adulas Garcia catch that
he mentioned the great Cassenger catch aswell, Like it's just so many different

(02:01:51):
pivotal moments that if this one orthat one doesn't get made, the game
gets turned on its head. Yeah. Yeah, I mean that's that's part
of it is is the great defensehas to come. And you know that's
where you you the Kyle Tuckers andthe Jeremy pinions. Okay, if you're
not getting it done at the plate, just keep giving me great defense because
that's you know, that's also abig reason why you're in there. But

(02:02:12):
yeah, big big plays made,uh defensively throughout on top of the offensive
plays, and uh, I reallyneed a uh keep looking at the car
back logo out there. I keepthinking like, I really need Crawford back
just to settle the nerves tonight becauseit was, uh, this is a
big one, man. I meanthis was tense. You could feel it
in the air, and and whenGarcia hit that home run and then the

(02:02:33):
dust up in the eighth, itjust felt like, man, are they
do they have all the momentum here? Now? Are they gonna are they
gonna take this one? But againyou're you're not out till you're out,
and just can't say enough. Didyou see the uh the tweet ross?
So we know that jan Air DiazPinch hits for Jeremy Pinion and I think
gets the pace hit and then JohnSingleton works the walk well. John Singleton's

(02:02:57):
wife on Twitter it out. Thisis about an hour ago. She said,
you guys, I missed it.Our Southwest flight didn't have Wi Fi
and I missed my husband's biggest atbat of the season. Thank you all
for the love. So poor LindsaySingleton did not see John Singleton's biggest at
bat. You're tough. Well, she can watch it again. He went
and drew a walkie, took sixpitches, didn't take the bat off the

(02:03:21):
shoulder for any of them. Buta great judge of the strike zone.
He's ready to swing if he hadtoo. But he's always had a good
eye and that's been something that that'sbeen one of his best traits. Hasn't
been able to make great contact overthe years, strikes out a lot,
but the eye is there, doesget on base, and what a crucial
moment for him to get on baseto set the table for jose A L

(02:03:44):
two Vay's all time great MoMA orone of his all time great moments.
I should say in the playoffs, send it Chap runs still number one,
this number two. Uh yeah, like I said, it just happened.
So we can certainly argue you walkoff to go to the World Series.
Definitely hard to argue. Top.But they also didn't win the World Series
that year. Yeah, so doesthis get more gravity if the Astros go

(02:04:06):
on to win this series and theWorld Series? Something to think about?
Okay, seven on three, sevenninety Mike in Cyprus. Next up on
the x Fennity to listen, Alliance. What's up, Mike? Hey,
guys, how lucky are we tobe in this ara of beyond lucky?
Beyond lucky? It's like a Brady'sPatriots or Curry's Warriors. You know,

(02:04:28):
you always expecting to win. Buthey, I want to talk about Garcia.
I know I think they hit themoff purpose, and I agree with
it. I'll tell you why.I've been official for thirty years. I've
done high school football for thirty five, then college for about five. I
call acrosse, I call basketball. And there's a saint that we officials judge
the sixteen to twenty four old kidsquote unquote kids by youthful exuberance versus taunting.

(02:04:54):
So in all those sports, inthe sports, if you're showing exuberance
and it's mainly for you team, then you pass on the flag. You
passed off that and colon basketball. But when he walks for forty five feet
passing on first base line, thenhe slams the bat, Now he's borderlining
on it. Then he does hislittle robotic walk from the last ten feet

(02:05:15):
then stops on the plate. IfI could flag him in baseball, I'd
flag his butt. It's ridiculous andI'm so glad we all know it.
That was a call from Dusty whomever, and I'm so glad they beaned this.
But it's just I mean, yougot to judge people do do cut
through a symbol to the second base. I'm okay with that youthful exuberance.

(02:05:35):
I'm okay with a lot of antics. He took it through taunting, and
when you talk, you get payback. Uh yeah, Mike, I'm going
to disagree with you. I mean, we we played the audio of Dusty
Baker earlier said there's no you thinkthey wanted to put an extra You do
you think they wanted to put twoon in the eighth inning? Down?
Run down two guys. I agreewith that. I hear that. But

(02:05:58):
you know it's hard. But youtell it's true too. Base First of
all, you know baseball people,I'm not a baseball guy. I never
played it or called that game.Yeah, this time and the place you
can hit him, next game youcan. You can hit him some other
time. That's my fear too.If this gets out of hand Sunday one
way or the other, we canwe can independence for sure. Yeah,

(02:06:18):
exactly, all right, Mike, thanks a lot, appreciate it. I
just disagree. I don't care.We we talked to uh Briana Bray in
the clubhouse and and even he said, uh, he said, no,
look man, the the the moo on him was to throw up and
in that's that's what I'm supposed todo, or go slider, he goes,
I threw it and it just gotaway from me and he goes.

(02:06:40):
Immediately I started walking towards home plate, saying, hey, that's on me.
If you watch the replay, BrianonBrady immediately slapping his chest going hey,
hey, bro, that's that's onme. That's on me. He
said, that's that's when a DoleScarcia is having words with Maldonado. And
he turned and said, no,that's that's bull bleep. And uh,
he says, at that moment,I realized he's okay, he's he's hot.
I'm just gonna walk away because there'she's not gonna believe what I'm trying

(02:07:02):
to tell him. But uh,I just saw the video a doulas Garcia
said after the game. He saidthat fellow Cuban Jordon Alvarez helped calm him
down by urging him saying, lookat me, look at me. Said,
Alvarez told him, the Asters didnot hit you on purpose. So
Jordan Alvarez got involved in this, okay, because we saw it from up
here. I was like, whyis walking walking away with like, no,
they were dangers. This is actuallyI think in the last I think

(02:07:25):
didn't Jordan was peacemaker the last timeAdolas Garcia was getting mixed up with Marcus
Amian and Marlonado and all those guys. Yeah, so so yeah, they're
they're Cuban brothers. Though they've they'vethis is not the first time that did
Jordan has played peacemaker And uh,it's funny because Dolars Garcia is so big,
but watching Jordon hold him, it'slike it's brother. I just want
to hear more explanation from the umpire. The umpires like what why such the

(02:07:47):
rash decision to go immediately? Yeah, warning a Doulas Garcia, you're rejected.
Hey, and Dusty you want toget on this, You're rejected too.
It's like, well, wait aminute, he did. But I'm
like, at what point do wesay the cooler heads prevail here and go
guys, warning this side, warningthat side. Let's let's move on.

(02:08:07):
Yeah, it was bizarre at thattime. By the way, another Marshall
Stevenson scoreboard update for you, Gordy. Five to five, bottom of the
eighth game, number four. TheDiamondbacks are coming back, baby, Craig
Kimbrel looks like he's given up someruns right now to the Diamondbacks or did

(02:08:28):
he just come in? Oh mygod, look at this. Look at
this box score, Gordy. Thepictures for each side, seven pictures for
the Diamondbacks and seven pictures for thePhillies. And yes, it was Craig
kimberrel giving up the runs now asthat bad boy is tied in the bottom
of the eighth. Interesting, Wow, can't book can't book tickets to Philly

(02:08:50):
or Arizona yet? What do youthink Phoenix? Right? Be nicer,
nice cold series to try to win? How is that Philly? Last year
the Astros were I won't say lucky, I'll say fortunate. We're fortunate to
get out of and then the nohitter was really what stopped the skid,
and prudos to Javier and all thoseguys. But that place is I mean,

(02:09:11):
look, have you seen it inthe postseason throughout the Yeah, they
hit like one hundred that's and elevendecimals or whatever I mean. Schwarbert put
it this way, rossill be setthe stage for you next Friday Game one,
Verlander versus Schwarber in the first youdon't think he's going deep. I
think he's going deep in that first, popping out the first, he's popping

(02:09:31):
out the first. You heard yourhere first. If it happens, of
course this series still at hand,Astros need to win one more in the
final two. Last time, thefirst five teams won all home games.
Uh with the Astros involved the I'msorry the road team. Then the road
team won the last two, socan't take it for granted. Here fromber
Needing needing to get it done ingame six, if not Javier in game

(02:09:52):
seven seven one three, two onetwo five seven ninety. We're gonna keep
rolling with you folks on the phonelines. Let's go Mitch on the south
West side. What's up, hey, guys, so real quick, what
a great win? Uh? Iwas at the Rockets game and I missed

(02:10:13):
the home run because my daughter wassinging the national anthem with their school choir.
Yeah, right after that, youknow, I was I didn't give
up, but you know I hadto focus on that obviously because it's my
daughter. And then man, theenergy there and Toyota Center after that,
and it was like the Rockets weren'teven playing, but it was amazing.

(02:10:37):
I mean, everybody was up andwe were all glued to the you know,
they had several TVs playing and itwas just phenomenal. So I just
wanted to chime in and just sayI didn't Yeah, my bosses in Dallas.
He texted me the other day after, you know, Ringers went up
too and said I feel like it'sa sweep. I didn't even respond because
I had faith. Yeah, Ilike that. I like that match,

(02:11:01):
all right, appreciate it. Yeah, it's one of those like these moments
that these Astros have given us.Gordy, I mean, I know where
I was when Altuve and Gey,I mean when Guriel and al Tuove will
hit those three run shots in Gamenumber five. I know where I was.
I was in the tunnel actually whenBregman walked it off to score Derek

(02:11:24):
Fisher in that Game five. Iknow where it was when Jordan hit that
three run shot to hit the Astrosin Game one. And this is just
another memory that we're all going tohave collectively as as Astros lovers and Astros
fans. Where we were when JoseI know ire was when when that I
know, I was in a sportsbar that shall not be named in twenty
nineteen when al Tuove hit that shot, and we're gonna remember where we were

(02:11:46):
on this one. Yeah, it'sit's definitely, uh, you know,
these are the great moments again thatthe Astros continue to give us, and
it's just it's it's unbelievable. It'sa ride that you know, we we
were talking about a year or twoago, people talking about, well,
this window, this window the Astrosout. I mean, yeah, but
the window keeps getting extended. Keepyou think of all the greats that have

(02:12:09):
come and gone from this run andguy's huge names that they've lost, like
Garrett Cole and George Springer and CarlosKrea. Yet the run keeps extending.
So and you know, really twoof constants that keep coming up big for
the Astros time and time again.Ho's L two V and Alex Bregman.
I mean those two guys are uhand did you hear Bregman at the podium,
I think yesterday what he said aboutl Twove He said, I hope,

(02:12:31):
I hope he and I are youknow Astros for a Yeah, I
mean that's and then tonight was thegood one that did that you were there
for talking about his son? Yeah, yeah, Bragman said basically that that
he says was l Twove is arole model for his son as a human
being, and just you know, again one of the nicest, kindest people

(02:12:54):
you'll ever meet and one of themost unassuming superstars in the world. The
guy that just that doesn't want tobe part of the line he does.
He's not in it for that twoV's not in it for the the stardom
and all that. He's in thisjust to play baseball. And anytime he
can push the fame in the spotlighton on his teammates, he will do
that, all right. By theway, getting word from sources that it

(02:13:16):
was coincidental. The it's gone,it's gone call Mileo Hamilton on the Chris
Burke eighteenth inning walk off and RobertFord saying it's gone. It's gone tonight
in Al two Vey's ninth inning, three run shots. So the spirit the
spirit of is in there, yeah, Robert, But yes, I tweeted,

(02:13:37):
I put out the video. Guysare like right a few minutes after
it happened, and I made sureI put the radio call on there,
and I put it out there onthe seven ninety Twitter says that epic called
by Robert Ford. Well, andwe've got seven eighty eight retweets and twenty
five hundred likes already. Yeah, the number of people that have commented on
it. Quote tweeted and said atepic call from Robert Ford and Steve Sparks.

(02:13:58):
I mean, those guys have beenincredible to along this run that you
have two awesome broadcasters calling all theaction are on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Yeah, we're we're lucky to havehim here. Sports Talk seven ninety.
You're home for your stros. Youknow that. Seven one, three,
five, seven eighty. Vinnie inAlvin next up? What's up? Vinnie?
Hey y'all doing tonight? Uh?First time caller, Uh big one

(02:14:20):
by the Ash shows tonight, man. Uh. And I just wanted to
say, uh, the pitch JVthrough the Garcia when he hit that at
Homer, and I was wondering whatkind of pitch it was, and then
uh, I think it was aI have a fill intour from ber Valdez
is gonna uh throw a really goodgame on Sunday Sunday, Man, And

(02:14:41):
Uh, y'all have a nice thing. God bless y'all. All right,
thanks a lot. I appreciate it. Uh. Yeah, it was a
fastball, four seamer on the insideand uh Adulis Garcia just simply tattooed it.
They try to throw him up andin it was not up. It
was a little more center cut ninetyfive mile an hour fastball and Adola scarcia

(02:15:03):
Is sent it over the left fieldfence is what it is. Great,
great, great, great power hitterAdola Scarcia. What do you hit like?
Thirty nine home runs I think thisseason in the regular season and just
a straight up Astro killer. Man, it seems like ever since he's come
into the league, he's been somebodythat has been difficult for the Astros to

(02:15:24):
put down. Yeah, one hundredand seven runs back in, thirty nine
home runs for a Doulas Garcia thisyear, and he continues to keep getting
it done for the Rangers as hehas four home runs in this postseason,
but luckily wasn't enough for the Rangersas the Astros get the victor. Yeah,
it was. It was frustrating thosefirst handful of innings as I'm going

(02:15:46):
back and look at the box score, like, you know, Verlander kept
going out there and doing his thing, but man, was it was still
a one nothing game. And thenwhat the home run in the fifth makes
it from love, makes it oneto one out, Like, man,
we gotta get some more runs fromErlander here. Yeah, and he gives
up the home run. It sucks, but it's It also was a moment
of like God, that's where likeyou should have gotten more runs off Montgomery.

(02:16:11):
Yeah, it would have been nice, but Montgomery was playing very well
and we're getting word now. Ohno, it's the it's the eighth eight,
I believe. So still another inningto go, but Arizona has taken
the lead six to five. Ifyou do want to make the World Series,
you wouldn't mind the other series goingseven so they can use up as
many pictures as possible. All right, seven one three, two, one

(02:16:31):
two five, seven ninety Here onthe tenth inning show, let's keep it
going to the phones. Gordy Taylorin midtown? What's up? What's up?
Guys? Ross? Gordy? UhI, uh so, let me
set this stage for you guys.I appreciate you guys keeping this thing on,
although I do think it's worth mentioningjust for karma and sake? Do
we do we shut it down beforewe extend past the World Series, you

(02:16:54):
know, like like postgame fan showlast of seventeen and twenty two. Don't
know, but I'm a paramedic.I work on in one of the suburb
counties. In the radio broadcast andthe postgame and the pregame that you guys
do in the studio that Michael Connordid before you. It is such a
vital part of me, like stayingplugged into my astros as a lifer,

(02:17:18):
as an astros lifer, so Ihave to do in service training. Last
I had to leave for training inNorman, Oklahoma last week for five days
left. I drove Sunday with oneof my coworkers, so all of my
contact has mostly been with earbudget inin class, trying not to cheer loudly

(02:17:39):
and stuff and focus on things. So tonight we're driving back after class.
We're done with the training, andwe're up one to Nutson or whatever,
and then we go up like twoto you, two to one. As
we're coming through downtown Dallas, myleast favorite place to drive through. Right
in like at the height of fiveor six o'clock traffic, when the Garcia

(02:18:01):
home run happened. So I'm I'mpissed, I'm dejected. I finally get
through the whole DFW mess uh anduh, I'm metting south. Found my
partner crashes out in the truck. When uh, when the when the seventh
inning happened? And I've got thevolume kind of turned down because I'm a
good road trip buddy, right becauseUh, she may need to drive,
like, you know, if Ifall out, and uh and and and

(02:18:26):
then the the the seventh happens, and it to me, I like,
and I'm cheering, like as quietlyas I possibly can when the eight had
when the eighth happens, because forfor Pressley and and and obviously Altuve gets
the the honors as the hero ofthis game. But I like, it's
like one in one a for him, impressly because to come in and somebody

(02:18:48):
already even said it, you know, he's cleaning up, you know,
a Braves mess, which was amess. Uh. He gets that done
with two inherited runners. And thenuh, to come in in the ninth
after the Altuve heroics, which we'vegone into enough, you know, and
he he gives up the single andthen he walks the next guy. But
it's almost like he knew what hewas doing. He's like, well,
I was trying to get that guyto bite on on on the on the

(02:19:11):
fat on on the on the onthe curve balls low, on the breaking
balls low. He didn't, Sowhatever I got, I got a guy
on us. I walked that guywhatever. And then he's like a mechanic
man. He went to work, you know, and he gets a he
gets so he gets the ground outand then he he just strikes up the
next two guys. The guy isfreaking nails and and and for all tvatea
to to to go to the recordsand the levels that he does. Uh,

(02:19:33):
it's just amazing. I think thisis gonna propel us the same way,
maybe not quite. I think he'sgonna propel to the game six wins
Sunday. I think that's maybe notquite as epic of a of a pivotal
moment as the Javier Game four lastyear in the World Series, strictly because
that's a World series that's a nohitter, uh, that that propelled us

(02:19:54):
on. But but this is stillI think this is absolutely weird. This
is gonna propel us. I thinkthis locked everybody and all right, which
hasn't been flipped, it's done.So thanks guys for everything. All Right,
thank you Taylor, appreciate you gettingTaylor this whole story riving through Dallas.
Hey man, he's excited. It'sfun and we got the whole we
got the whole bit of it there, the whole rundown. But yeah,

(02:20:16):
look, I mean, uh,you do have the day off tomorrow,
and no matter what. I don'tknow if it's about propelling because this team
just stays, don't even kill. They don't get too down, they don't
get too high. They they theyalready are motivated within themselves. I mean,
if you need to get motivated fora game number six in the Alcs
at home, I mean, whatare you even doing here? And look,

(02:20:41):
that is something we can get into. You know. Clarence Hill,
one of the riders up here inDallas, he was kind of having fun
talking trash with arth Roland Martin, who's from Houston and an Astros fan,
and Clarence still said, Hey,the Astros can't win at home. Texas
got him right where they want him, and they's joke having fun with each
other. But it is kind ofa you know, it's something we do
need to talk about. I mean, the whole road team has won every

(02:21:03):
game in the series so far.Well, it's time to break the curse.
Baby. And al Tuova I lovewhen he talked to the media before
the game, he somebody brought thatup. They go, does this feel
a little bit like you know thetwenty nineteen with DC and the Jose goes.
Somebody brought that up to me andI immediately told him to shut up
or like stop he goes, becauseI don't want to I don't even want
to think about that because we lostthat series, right, So no,

(02:21:24):
I don't want to compare that atall to this year and this is this
is this year, this time, right now, top to bottom, I
would still say, yeah, bestAstros team probably in history. I do
want to bring something up that thelast caller kind of reminded me of though.
So we we stream the games oniHeartRadio. We've got the clearance to
do that a couple of years agofrom Baseball, but we have to geo

(02:21:45):
fence it, so it has tobe whatever the TV area is. So
this is the first time, Ithink in a postseason because it's Dallas,
we're able to stream. So likeif you're listening on iHeart, you can
listen in Dallas or at home.So like if you at the game,
it's a little bit of a delay, but you could listen to Robert and
Steve on on iHeart Radio if you'reat the game here in Dallas. All

(02:22:05):
right, I guess we'll go aheadand take the bottom of the hour break
here on the tenth inning show thatjust continues to roll and roll and roll
and roll. On, folks, those of you on old we will get
to you, I promise. I'lltold there's a bunch of people driving back
right now from Dallas to Houston thatlisten to us. I appreciate that.
You know, well, we're goingwe're gonna close it in on three and
a half hours. At this point, we're at least two and a half.

(02:22:26):
You gotta be you gotta get gottabe in Madison, Huntsville at least
Brian mctagger let us know you Buckyhit and he's still there, because I
will be going delirious by the endof the show, but it will be
worth it because the Astros just pulledone out of their hats and beat the
Rangers five to four in Game numberfive of the a LCS. And we'll

(02:22:48):
continue talking about it on the otherside of this break. If you want
to get in one phone line open, let's do it baby. Seven one
three two one two five seven ninetyDrawn to you by Exfinity ten G made
for streaming live sports on nump crowd, Home of your Astros Sports Talk seven
ninety. That's an oh one cowchwoal Twove Astros down four to two the

(02:23:13):
pitch and al Twove hits it inthe air pretty deep to left. Carter
is back at the wall leaves andit is gone. It's gone, It's
gone, It's gone. Oh see, ol Twove get the Astros up five
to four lane swinging lining at Telamp. It's fun, it's fun. It's

(02:23:37):
fun. Bris Burk Howry Toledo. What a way to finish Holy Toledo.
Indeed, but this time in Arlington, like I said, sources close to
the show saying that it was coincidentalthat Robert Ford went with the Milo It's
gone in that epic eighteen inning gamein two thousand and five with Chris Burke

(02:24:01):
coming up with the big home runthere but Jose Altuve in that was the
Game five of the DS, Ibelieve, and this is in the CS
but also game number five. SoJose al Tuove with an epic, epic,
epic moment, Gordy and it's stillstarting to is not even starting to
sink in what we just witness hereat Globalife Field and Robert Ford it post

(02:24:24):
he posted to his social media,he said, it's I've been fortunate to
call some great moments in my timeat the Astros. Jose al twoves go
ahead home run in the ninth tohelp the Astros go up three games to
two in the ALCS is definitely oneof the greatest, one of the best
ball games I've had a privilege tocall. Yeah, that's the thing.
It's not even that it was likethose dramatic moments. It was like the
whole ballgame. Man. I mean, you get up one nothing with Bregmant,

(02:24:46):
all right, we can hit JordanMontgomery, but then he settles in
and at one point retires I thinkten Astros in a row. And then
you know, the three run shotby a Dolas Garcia. The bench is
clear a bray, you hits AdolesGarcia, Astley comes in and does what
he does, the defensive plays thatwe talked about, and then, of
course, I mean the coup degras. You have Jose al Twove and

(02:25:09):
that three run shot, and thenPresley, after giving up two singles,
shuts the door. Incredible, insane. I don't even know what else to
say. So let's go ahead andlet you folks say it. Seven one
three, two, one two fiveseven ninety Greg in Livingston. Next up,
what's up? Uh? Yes,Well, first of all, I

(02:25:31):
was glad to hear the previous callerstravel plans, but I knew above the
astros and I'm just wondering about theempowering because the last few days, I
mean, it's been horrible, kindof terrible, terrible for both teams.
Yeah. I mean I'm not reallysure what's going on or what they can

(02:25:52):
do about it, but it hasbeen horrible. And just that that was
all I had to say, butgo ask all right, thanks a lot,
Greg. Yeah, it's been atrocious, Gordy, I mean you expect.
I saw one of the MLB accountsthat I follow, like, where's
Pat Hoberg. Pat Hoberg if youremember this guy called a perfect game at

(02:26:13):
the plate last year in the playoffs, and he's been consistently one of the
best, He's not calling any ofthese postseason games. Like, who are
these guys that are getting in there? I was it was it this guy
tonight or some other guy was like, you know, they're getting these fifty
percentile guys and calling balls and strikes. That's the biggest thing. I feel
like they can swing games because outand say for the most part. You

(02:26:35):
can you know, you can challengethose calls. You can't challenge balls and
strikes. I mean some was oneof the umpires better at getting the ball
out to the pitcher in time thanthe other. Like, what are these
evaluations that they're having with these Atleast there's one thing we've been thankful for,
Angel Hernandez. Yeah, well neverYeah, we do have a final

(02:26:58):
Yes, go ahead, Diamondbacks sixPhillis five. Extend that series BASI series
and the end the complete opposite ofthis one. In this series, Yeah,
the road team has won every gamein that series. The home team
has won every Well, let's hopethat changes, at least for our sake
in Houston over the weekend. Sevenone three two one two five seven ninety

(02:27:24):
seven one three two one two fiveseven A. Lance and Dickinson next up?
What's up? I just uh,bright, you get hitting the guy
at the end of the game. There's no way he did that on purpose
at that point in the game. You know, we couldn't afford to put
on base runners. But I wouldlove to know what mal Donado said to
the batter. I kind of thinkthat he probably told him, like,

(02:27:46):
oh yeah, we did that toyou just to fire him up. Uh,
yeah, maybe we do have quotes, Gordion, I'm not exactly sure
what Martin Maldonado did. Were youin front of him? I was talking
about was about and feedback, soI couldn't hear of everything he said.
We got the video up on sevenninety. I just I couldn't hear it
first hand. Okay, so I'llhave to go let's go find some quotes

(02:28:09):
there or or maybe Dan can pullit for us at some point. I'm
not sure exactly what happened there inthe eighth of the ninth Dwarf, Maldi
said anything but Brian Abray you waspretty forward and candidate about what happened,
saying that, yeah, he wastelling a Dolas Garcia he didn't hit him
on purpose. Adolas said, bs. And it took jord On Alvarez to
go look a Dolas Garcia straight inthe eye and say, no, he

(02:28:31):
didn't hit you on purpose. Well, the funny thing is like read the
room, Adole. Did you seeMartine Maldonado's quote on the with the Fox
crew postgame? No, a Rodand Jeter and them. His quote was
the worst thing he did was wakeup the Houston Astros. Yeah, it
is the quote. Okay, here'sDan, this is Maldonado or a Brey
you you have, Okay Maldy onFox. Here we go, Martin.

(02:28:56):
You were right in the middle,of course, with the brawl of the
benches clearing. What did Garcia sayto you after he got hit by the
pitch. Well, he's a no, not like that, you know,
Isaai, he's to an alden game. We don't tell to hate nobody.
You know, we got a chansto come back back game on. I
know he was upset to go hitat home. I was that bat.

(02:29:18):
I know he could have took itout way up. The worst dig he
did was wake up now he wasthe lastest hey Britt, Yeah, there
you go. The worst thing hedid was wake up the Astros and yeah,
Maldy apparently telling him, hey man, well he'said two nothing game.
But I guess effectively it is atwo nothing game when it was four to
two in those moments, you don'twant to put extra base runners on.

(02:29:39):
So I just choose to believe, and I do believe. I'm right,
did Brida Bree You did not dothat on purpose, especially the way he
was so cany talking about Yeah, you're not gonna do that, like you
want to pay him back, payingback next game, you know, like
exactly exactly You're not going to dothat in this spot. All right,
let's keep it going on the phonelines. Uh, next up Charlie in

(02:30:01):
Cyprus. What's up Charlie? Hey, guys, I got a couple of
comments. Number One, we arejust very fortunate National fans to have al
Tugay as a guy to root for. The guy's a five six giant and
he comes through when we need himall the time. Another comment I have
is, you know, Dusty isa player's coach, you know, per

(02:30:26):
se and tonight he really There's beenmoments when I've I've wanted him or felt
like he needed to do what hedid tonight to fire up the team.
And I was glad to see thattonight. But the real reason I called
was wanted to get you guys' opinionis why did Garcia go after Maldonado and

(02:30:48):
not alert a Braive it just moveon his side? Well, if I'm
I'm thinking maybe the Idolas feels likeit was Martin Malto's call. You know,
he's kind of one of the captainsof the Astros, certainly the captain
of the pitching staff, and maybehe thinks his thinking was that while a
bray you did hit him, itwas Martine Maldonado who made the call.

(02:31:13):
Yeah, okay, I'll go withthat, but I'll still yeah, I
mean, that's the only explanation Ican come up with. He wanted no
part of a brave because he knewbetter. But anyway, so what do
you guys think about, you know, Dusty firing up like that. I
mean, it's it just seems likehe's never really done that when he's had
the opportunity to. And I wasglad to see that tonight. Yeah,

(02:31:37):
that's just not necessarily his personality.Thank you, Charlie, and I appreciate
it. And Dusty just has adifferent approach than some people. Some people
think, oh, yeah, yougot to go out there and you gotta
get run, you gotta have yourguys back, and you gotta get thrown
out. Otherwise your chicken bleep andyou don't care about your players. Dusty
Baker doesn't feel that way. Hedoesn't get ejected a lot, he doesn't
run his mouth at the umpires alot. He's not like a like a

(02:31:58):
Scott's Service type of red ass whowas just going to be going out there
and kicking dirt on the umpires. That's just kind of not his style.
But it was bs. I mean, the ejection was silly. Again,
you warn both benches, you don'tsuddenly eject people. But the history,
I mean, he was asking, why do you have words of Martin Meldonano.
Go back to July of this year. If you recall, Adulas Garcia

(02:32:20):
hit a grand Slam in a sevenrun fifth inning where the Rangers slucked four
homers in a thirteen to five winover the Astros. It said, I'm
reading this recap from last year, from this past July. Following his Grand
Slam, Adulas Garcia and Marcus Simmionexchanged words with Martin Maldonado and that led
to the benches and bullpens emptying. No punchets were thrown, but Baldonado and

(02:32:43):
Simeon were ejected. Again. There'sa history here and there's a little bit
of bad blood and whatever, andAdulas Garcia reacted again. I rewatched his
home run. It was a littlebit over the top, but it was
an emotional home run and there athome. I guess he entitled to that.
Yeah, but again I don't thinkthe Brian are A pitch had anything
to do with paying him back. But I will say, I mean,

(02:33:07):
to Martin's credit, like, Ithink it fired up this team. I
think you know, they wanted towin regardless, but like al Tuva,
those guy's going to the knife, going, these guys, let's go,
let's win this thing. Yeah. And I'm trying to remember was it me
and you, Gordy or was itsomebody else when we were talking about previewing
the series, and I said,I think there's gonna be not punches thrown,

(02:33:28):
but a bench is clearing incident atsome point in this series with the
bad blof these two teams have hadbetween each other. Yeah, no doubt
they have. Yeah, I meanit's look, it's not over either.
I mean we're yeah, we're gonnaWe're gonna see some more. I'm not
just surprised we haven't had more. You know, it started with Brian McTaggart
versus Evan. It could be ifyou get a blowout one way or the
other in game six or or orheaven forbid, game seven, we could

(02:33:54):
see some fireworks. Yeah, likeyou get Astros or heaven forbid Rangers up
like ten one in game seven. This could get nasty, This could get
real nasty. All right, Nickon the northwest side, what's up?
Oh? Yes, thank you, thank you. Yeah. A couple of
comments. I wanted to make theceiling as far as I don't know about
the importance, but the event ofhis home run of two days home run,

(02:34:18):
the ceiling that I got, Igot it Compared with the Kiss of
Death by Merrill Ellie and the longrun that Earl Campbell made against Miami.
Those are the I had those samefeelings about whether the events were as great
as those. I don't remember theparticular circumstances are are of what those games

(02:34:39):
meant to the to the orders orto the Rockets. But that's the feeling
that I got. The other commentI wanted to make is uh the answer?
I mean the answer is really,I really felt nervous. I don't
know why, I'll to be.I'm not taking anything away from his homer
because I'm an Astro fan. Ilove the Asters, so so I don't
know why he decided to bunch inthat situation. No long, yeah,

(02:35:01):
but why did he that that almostyeah, you know what I did.
He even get asked about that. That's a forgotten moment in this game.
Gordy. Yeah, well, andI think I think that that really really
be done. In fact, becauseI used to pitch high school of and
nothing compared to but that would havesaid, if I was Berlin there,
that would have really pissed me off. Why did he do that? You
know? And and that could havethat could have backbared. And but we

(02:35:24):
came back, and I too cameback. But man, and I was
thinking, why did he do thatso he couldn't sit against this guy or
what? But then you know, but it worked out good. So well,
hey, oh another thing, realquick comment. I think this is
a great moment and everybody should youknow, right now we're getting caught up
in the moment. But man, write it down and write it down and

(02:35:46):
remember the facts. Put it ina bottle and when you're seven or eight
years old, you know, youknow, tell the story to your kids.
It's a great motivation of this.Yeah, yeah, yeah, these
are moments we're gonna remember. Imean as far as sporting, you know,
as far as real life stuff, but as far as sports go,
absolutely it's going to be an extremely, extremely, extremely memorable moment for me

(02:36:09):
and for Astros fans everywhere. Whatwe just saw in this game and this
whole game was a movie. Andyeah, forgotten moment the top of the
fifth Jose Altuve, what was hedoing there? I didn't have this bigger
problem with I there was. Itwas runner a third with two outs.
There must have been something in thein the scouting report that like how they

(02:36:33):
were playing, and maybe just jodahhim, but you know, like I
don't know, but even then,I mean, you're bringing the infielder in
to try to make a play athome in that instance, if you bunt
it like it was Tucker. Itwas Tucker. He had speed, he
was going and so you know, like I just think it was he held
up though when he first bunted,Tucker did hold up for a second.

(02:36:56):
If this was called as a suicidesqueeze and he was going the whole way,
yeah, it made sense. Butit seems like it wasn't communicated because
I did see Tucker hold up.Yeah, I think it was just trying
to bunt for a hit. Imean, he's he's done that swing the
bat. Oh, I'm glad hedidn't try to bunt for a hit in
the ninth because he swung the Heswung the bat and went over the fence.
But remember it was a one onegame at the time, and you're

(02:37:16):
just thinking, like, can wejust get it one nothing? I think
was it even one nothing? Maybe? Was it one one? Okay,
I know, I'm I'm not sure. I just remember, I'm not correcting
you, I'm asking. I justremember thinking they're just trying to maybe yea,
I want nothing actually, so,yeah, he's trying to get an
extra run. He's trying to geta little bit of insurance going. But
that's a fifth inning. If that'sin the eighth or ninth, it makes
more sense where you want one morerun for a little insurance. But in
the fifth, So swing the bat, hose after that low hite, Yeah,

(02:37:39):
go go go, look at thego look at what happened in the
ninth hose swing the bat, baby, come on, all right? Seven
one three, two one two fiveseven ninety, let's keep it going,
cue holding longest, what's up?Que? What's going on? Soy man,
without a doubt, this has gotto be the greatest past ever.
And I'm two year old, famwho's been watching suits nineteen sixty five.

(02:38:03):
Man, this guy we called himthe little man with the big stick.
We had people crying at the sportsball absolutely familiar and you don't even not
have the run. He can justwin right now. And what made it
so great sellers the day a cotLeague team we won a championship forty six
years ago and we were all theretogether and on that team, I bet

(02:38:26):
at first, so I got tobe the hero of the game. All
right, thank you, You appreciateyou getting in. Yeah. I mean
that's the thing too. You don'twant to know harp on a guy's hide
or short king or anything like that, but the power that he can provide.
I mean, that was the bookon him him. You know what,

(02:38:46):
maybe I'm going to go home andpost this this weekend because I was
looking at this. I have Gordya twenty eleven edition of Baseball Prospectives,
and they have this little blurb onthis prospect, jose Al Tuove, and
they're like, this guy can hiteverything, He's got all the tools,
but can he overcome the height? If he can, you're talking about a

(02:39:11):
special player. But it's a bigquestion mark, Well ask it answered Jose
Altuve. It's unprecedented at his heightand stature of what he's done in Major
League baseball. It doesn't matter howtall he is. Dude is climbing the
ranks and coming for many. Ramirezhis postseason home run record, Manny with
twenty eight, Jose now with twentysix. Yeah, he is gonna beat

(02:39:33):
that eventually. And the other oneI was looking at is unfortunately Presley gets
the win tonight and not a saveopportunity. But you know, Presley is
chasing Dennis Eckersley for fourth on theall time postseason saves less, Like it's
just insane the number, Like Bregmanwith the home run earlier tonight, he's

(02:39:54):
got seventeen. His Mickey Mantle forthe most postseason Well, there was only
the World Series, nothing else. Then now you have wild card d It's
it's like Reggie Jackson Mickey like Krayis in that bunch. But it's just
funny, like every postseason game, these guys playing and they're just building more
and more historical numbers and stuff, and it's just insane to think that pretty

(02:40:16):
soon with a few more saves,Ryan Presley like he's already fifth all time
in postseason career saves. But likehe's you know, with a few more,
we'll surpassed Dennis eckersle brad Lydge, maybe catch Kenley Jansen and then the
only one ahead of all them isMariano Rivera. Yeah, I mean is
it that's is it forty two forMarianal same as the Jersey number that ain't
happening. Yeah, yeah, that'sdone Zough. But nonetheless I mean it's

(02:40:39):
yeah, I mean, get tipour captain Presley Ross. We still took
calls in July about I would gowith the bray you as the closer,
not Presley. It's like, youknow, but then you can use a
bray you in a seventh or eighthor Hyler leverage. I'm just saying,
like the guy who was yeah,he's been nails in almost every postseason getting
pitched for you. Absolutely people stillwant to kick it is. It was

(02:41:00):
certainly a rough night for Presley isbad guy. It's been a rough postseason.
It's been a rough long time forI had a guy, you know
what, I should go find thisdude. He literally like a month ago
tweeted me Pressley is bad. Likeyou can say, Okay, he gives
up runs here and there, andhe's not the perfect closer. Let's say
he's bad, You're just stupid,and that's well all. I'm gonna leave

(02:41:24):
that at Let's go to Raoul inthe energy corridor here on the phone lines
of the tenth inning show the Exfinitylistener lines as we continue, what's up?
How are you doing? Guys?So I what I really want to
talk about is Joe as Vada's managingof that last inning. I mean,
first, to sell about Jeremy Tanyain that situation is something that takes a

(02:41:48):
lot of guts, uh, Andthen to do it in the order if
he did first to let Dias goin since the stats have indicated he's better
without people in scoring position or anything. So you give him the clean in
the clean field, and then youput in John Singleton for the biggest at
that of his career and probably tellhim don't take the bat off your shoulder

(02:42:09):
and gets the walk to put Josein the position that we all know what
he did with. But thanks, guys, and honestly, I'm still just
enjoying the afterglill of this win.Yeah, thanks a lot, roll.
We're all enjoying it. I'm stillkind of in disbelief. I'm still I
mean, I'm getting tired, butthis is just this could be tough,

(02:42:33):
tough for us to go to bedtonight, Gordy, all of us Astros
fans. I mean, you gotthe blood flowing. This is what you

(02:43:16):

Yeah, I'm gonna watch it anotherthirty. I mean, just reading some
of the comments when everybody's sweeting athim. Epic call one of the best

I'll have all the action on yourhome for Astros Baseball Sports talks of a

(02:43:37):
ninety and this was fun. Rossanother another road trip with courtesy of Carbox
Brows and the Crawford Bach covering allof our road coverage throughout the Astros postseason,
and hopefully we're not done Ross.Hopefully we have more postseason road coverage
presented by Carbock Brewing because the Astrosone win away from another trip to a

(02:44:01):
World Series. Remember how Epic fourwas where it was like, oh my
god, the Astros are going tothe World Series, like to say,
hey, just wait about yeah, yeah, oh five, sorry, just
wait about a little over a decadeand they're gonna keep They're gonna be doing
this on the regular. This wouldbe their fifth and you'd be like,
what, No, that's really beenlike multiple multiple World Series, fifth time

(02:44:22):
in seven years. It would besee it's it's unbelievable seventeen, nineteen,
twenty one, twenty one, twentytwo, twenty two, possibly twenty three,
unbelievable, crazy, don't even knowwhat to say. Well, before
we get out cordy As, we'regonna wrap it up here, quick quick
thought on game number six coming upSunday in Houston, Texas. Yeah,

(02:44:43):
we'll have a ton to get into. Uh, we'll get the pregame coverage
started from minute May Park. Ithink, uh think we may have Adam
and Adam get us started there, but you know, we'll have our whole
crew. Look at Taylor Roam,he's giving us the cut side. Yeah,
it's aside. All yeah, we'redone. We're done. Still here,
We're out of here. But no, I mean, look a lot
to talk about from Bert Valdez. Is that the right decision? We will

(02:45:05):
see Nathan Evaldi the right decision. We'll live with the results. Nathan Evaldi
one of the best postseason pitchers inthe game right now, hit him before
they have got three off of himin the last game. We'll see what
happens. All right, that's ChrisGordy. I'm ros V a real thank
you guys, so so much forsticking with us for so long. Here
