Speaker 1 (00:00):
Catch up with our good buddy Aaron Wilson from right here.
He's our Texans insider at Sports Sox seventy ninety but
also with KPRC. Two Texans take on the Broncos on
Sunday World Series Game six tonight. Blue Jay is trying
to close it out up three to two on the
Dodgers and the Rockets and Celtics Tomorrow night in Boston

(00:20):
six o'clock for that, but then Sunday at noon, it's
all about the Texans against the Broncos. And we catch
up with Aaron now for our weekly visit. Aaron, appreciate it. No,
you had the video yesterday Nico Collins that he is
out of protocol good to go and also to full
participant yesterday out of Christian Kirk. Are we expecting any

(00:42):
other injury surprises before Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
We're monitoring the Golden Shults still. You know they haven't
practiced this week. Not a surprise, but the surprise might
be does well number eighty six, well another of a
tunnel today. We'll see if that's going to happen to
become Yon kind of forecast that was a possibility. I
think he could even not practice today and then they
make him a game time decision. It's a matter of

(01:09):
pain management and shoulders bothering him needs bothering him. So
we'll see if Dalton schultzmaster the call. They only had
Harrison Bryant, another tight end that's healthy on the active roster,
so they have a little bit of flexibility with Jacov Johnson,
and they can, of course they've never done this before
elevate Luke Lache, son of the great gem Lache offensive

(01:30):
tackle for the Old Redskins, But we'll see what they do.
I think that that's one to watch. And of course,
in addition to the injury report yesterday, Woody Marsh with
a soft tision injury at calf injury. Did see him
after practice, did not look to be any discomfort at all.
They just said he was limited. It's like he did
in practice. So we'll be watching for those two guys.

(01:50):
Of course, we know about Niko and Kirk, so they've
got a lot more receiving options now and we'll see
how they handle that. Nick Kyley as a play call
or how to see distribute the plays and how to
c J Stroud orchestrate the offense with some more options
just hit deal from an early It's an easy answer, Aaron.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
When you look currently at the Texans offensive line, they've
been running a lot of six man Blake Fisher eligible
receiver for a game like this where you're going up
against the pass rush built off of winning pressure rates
and pass rush wining rate and they're number one in
the NFL and sacks. Is this one of those games
where maybe you take out a wide receiver or you
don't worry about the tight end position as much because

(02:30):
of you need as many blockers as possible to give
an opportunity for CJ. Strow to deliver the ball downfield.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Right. YEA cool max protector is definitely in vogue for
the Texans this week. They will have some of those
looks when you look at how they're operating. They need
those linemen and also you want to get something out
of obviously you draft to Fisher in the second round,
but more importantly, it gives you some flexibility with the
jumbo packets needs your big body out there, and he's

(02:57):
sixty six straight and twelve pounds. They don't have a
tight end obviously anywhere close to that size. I think
that it's a way of sort of tacitly acknowledging. We
have some problems here with tight end, and we have
some problems here with the offensive line. It's not like
they've had a ton of great games. They you know,
kind of beat up on the bad teams or the

(03:19):
injury riddle teams. This is more like Seattle, when you
have a true test against a very talented, aggressive front.
Nobody's done it better than the Broncos rushing the pastor
pressure in the past or so you have to react
to it. If you don't, then they're going to tee
off on CJ. Stroud. Also, quick game. Everybody knows that's

(03:39):
kind of common. They got to find a way to
at least make them respect to run, and they're very
good at that too. So I think, you know, the offense,
they're really on the spot here. I mean, they're the
ones that are being challenged more. I feel like the
defense it's not quite onus on them. It's about can
the offense complicate or simulate a little bit about what

(04:02):
we saw the precision. It's the forty nine ers, and yeah,
I mean I think we're all probably have some healthy
skepticism about their ability to do so, just based on
the way the season's unfolded so far. Opportunities knocking for
them though, win this game there four and four. But yeah,
I think this game is going to say a lot
about this offensive line about CG shrouded about Nick Cayley.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Aaron Wilson is our Sports Sox seven to ninety Texans insider.
Also you can see him on KPRC two and he
joins us every week here on the seven to ninety
morning show. Offensive Line last week, Lake and Tomlinson there
at the left guard spot. I mean, is there at
least optimism Aaron that this could be a stick and
stay from Ursery at the left tackle spot all the

(04:44):
way over to Titus Hoard at the right.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I think the rotation is going to continue. They feel
like no one lives really grab the job, so they're
going to continue orchestrate where Lake and Thomlinson gets the
start and he plays most of snaps. But you scrugs,
subs in form and I think it does keep Lake
in fresh. That's something that they haven't really said, but
let's discreete between lines. Lacoln is thirty five years old.

(05:09):
His last Pro Bowl selection, which one was one with
several years ago, so you know you're looking at him,
You're looking at you scrugs, And obviously it's the weakest
spot of the five starters. I think that it's just
no one's probably going to grab the job. I think
it would take an injury to one of those players
for somebody to be the left guard for the entire game.

(05:31):
Maybe that changes right now. That is the philosophy of
the organization, and cool Popovich is to just how those
guys rotate.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Let's talk about the trade deadline. Your ears are all
across the NFL when it comes to moves that are
being made, and any other sport, we'll see some blockbuster
deals get done. You don't see that in the NFL
that often. But with a win on Sunday, it puts
Texas back at five hundred. They're in a race now
to at least compete for a wild card spot. Deadline's
on Tuesday. Do you believe that Nick Cassario is making

(05:59):
phone calls behind closed doors, maybe not to bring in
an elite name, but somebody that can stabilize a piece
of the offense that maybe gives them a secondary punch
going into November.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Yes, I know that he's always home for business. He'll
tell you that, and he actually does back up those words.
He's always on the phone, always making calls. He is
a pretty good pulse for the trade market, what teams
are looking for, what he might want, and just like
knowing the prices. Okay, we're thinking this for that draft pick.
But there's been less well was about the Texans this year,

(06:32):
about them really getting heavily involved. I mean, I think
one trade he probably should make would be to move
Christian Harris, who's not playing a lot for the Texans
and has starting potential. A move i'd love to see
them in make, but I don't think they will. I
think it would cost them a lot. Would be trading
with the minds for David Njoku. They're a very talented
tight end. But I don't know if they'll do that either.

(06:55):
There's some talk about the Raiders Center. I don't know
if that's going to happen, but Gasoline fully played that
great for Vegas. There's a couple of things I think
that they should do in terms of maybe trying to
add a pick or two if they do have some depth.
Other teams are looking for defensive tackles. They've got a
lot of those so that's anario where they may get
some calls, but I'm not hearing of like a blockbuster move.

(07:19):
But you know, Nick Hysteria likes to move in silence
as much as he can. But it's a talkative league.
But then we haven't heard of a big, big Texans move.
But they're still days ahead and maybe that heats up.
It doesn't take much a couple of calls and all
of a sudden, you got a deal again.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Aaron Wilson joined us here for his weekly visit on
the seven to ninety morning show. And this is a
Broncos offensive line that hadn't allowed for bow Knicks to
get sacked a ton this season, But this is a
Texans defense that can get after opposing quarterbacks. Who do
you think wins out in that battle on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I think the Texans have enough rush to get a
couple of sacks, and I'll think that the Broncos. You know,
I know they have a good system, and that's one
of the reasons why there's only an eight sacks. It's
not like Terry Bowles and Mike mcglinche are the best
tackles tandem the NFL. They're good, they're solid, but they
play well together. It's a well coached, cohesive unit. But yeah,

(08:21):
Will Anderson Junior or Jamil Hunter, those for a talented players.
I mean, no one's really blocked Will. He's one of
the best in the NFL at pressure rate. I see
Will at least getting off the ball, so Neil. It's
been requieter lately and we have yet to see a
game where really both of them were feasting on the
opposing offensive line. So that hasn't materialized as much as

(08:43):
you would have hoped for given the investment there. But
maybe that picks up. I know that that's something they've
been trying to get on tracks for a little while here,
and they don't seem like they're gonna blitz a whole lot,
So they're trying to get the pressure with the front
and if they're fairly base, which is what I think
they've been a lot of times, I don't know if
that's enough to solve the Broncos. Maybe it's kind of stalemate.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah, we'll see for sure, as it was a good
week last week. Now it's just can the Texans do
it again this week? And we will find out on
Sunday at noon. Aaron Wilson again. Our Sports Talk seven
ninety Texans Insider also does great work with KPRC two. Aaron,
you know where to find us on Sunday. We'll see
you up there in the box.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
