With the free agency period in the MLB underway following the conclusion of the World Series, teams across both the American and National Leagues begin tampering away ahead of next year's Opening Day. Focusing on Houston, the Astros appear to have a few free agents amongst themselves, with rumors surrounding players like second baseman Brendan Rodgers, catcher Victor Caratini, & the Astros' left-handed ace Framber Valdez, possibly declaring for free agency. Tossing around a few scenarios regarding the chance of Framber parting ways from Houston, Dan and Chris pose: could the Astros take a shot at acquiring Dylan Cease this offseason if Valdez leaves the organization?

So, Dylan Ceese is a name we've mentioned quite a bit, yes,
and this time of the year, it's when you get
the hot stove rumors, fast and furious out there. John
Morosi one of those people who have some of those rumors,
and I mean Cees has been a guy attached to
Houston before well, John Morosi says, well, it's good reason
to have his name attached to Houston.

At the deadline in July.

The team that was most interested in him the Houston Astros.
And when you think about the Astros and their depth
chart right now, Lauren, with Fromer Valdez now being a
free agent, I'm sure we'll get into Fromber as the
week goes along. They have a significant need for starting
pitching help now in their rotation via free agency. And

this resume right here Dylan Cees. You talked about the
reliability Lauren and everything that he's done. Those are strong
innings totals for Dylan Cees. He's such a talented picture,
his ability to generate velocity, the quality of the secondary stuff,
and you think too, he is someone that in the
right environment. It's a tough place to pitch there in Houston,
but when you consider that ballpark, I think his stuff

would play very well there.

So for the Astros, who we know are always trying.

To find ways to compete, they've had different pictures be
injured in recent years. But I think, especially with Fromer
being a free agent, Dylan Cees to the Astros probably
has as much of a chance of happening as any
their free agent prediction out there.

going right back out the door to San Diego if

The Dodgers are number one. They just freed up eighty

missing the playoffs. Steve Cohen's not going to go, oh,

Valdez couldn't land with the Mets, that they could spend

and the Braves.

a top five payroll team.
