Speaker 1 (00:01):
Is The Matt Thomas Show with Ross ten oh one
Age Town. Good morning, and welcome to a Tuesday edition
of The Matt Thomas Show with Ross. That's just Sports
Talk seven ninety. This isn't their number one hit, but
(00:23):
it's it's catchy. Come on, Ross, ad minutes Catchy, the
Miami sal Machine playing all your hits.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
On k j GM. Just good music.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
All right, Jonathan, real quick, this is probably the first
time of your life you ever heard this song. Give
you a quick thought. It's very eighties, but I won't
lie out with him taking my heads a little bit.
There you go. It's pretty bad. Hog man's shaking his hips.
Good for him.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
All right, it's catchy, though it is key. Turned it out.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I stayed away from that phrase all yesterday. Yeah, too late,
and it took you five seconds to say it. I mean,
I'm not gonna call you that on a regular basis.
Please don't. It makes me uncomfortable. I had people all
over the weekend, yes, just randomly, Like I went back
listen to the podcast. Like, Jonathan's admission of who he
is and what he carries is quite impressive.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Turn it up.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Say anything in a better mood today, Beat the Marlins.
This is quintessential eighties. Oh yeah, for sure. Synthesizer and
beats and drums ever hot on your scale With Gloria,
I guess I missed the boat on Gloria. I think
she's all right. I think she married a guy about
(01:41):
her dad's age.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
You know, young love, old guy something.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Women are into that. I guess all right, that's enough
of that. Thank you for playing again at nd God,
can we switch it to literally anything else? God, there's
a number eight hit in nineteen eighty six you just hate. Yeah,
Oh you know it's a top ten song. It must
be played again. Well it's Conga is better and congo
(02:08):
was a number ten hit. If we if Miami Sound
Machine was at Cynthie Woods, would you go to we know?
Oh come, I'd be fun. And no, I'm most sitting
along with you. I don't even know what that lawn is,
but I'll go see. I'll sing the.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Lawn is nice. You're sitting, hatter, You're so far, You're
so weird.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
I just want to be close to the action. You're
just not a man of the people. Plus the fans
there were uh Les Matt Ross. Yeah, your fans ain't
messing with the song. Man, I just got Doug yelling
at me back here. Well, why was what Doug yell
at you for this? He said you ruin his road trip. Man, Doug,
I'm not going to say that all day. Now, let
me tell you something, Doug. Why don't you call the
show right now and be a man.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Let's go to you.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
If you hate this song so much, call the show right.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Back, Doug.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Dude, come on, Doug.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Good to have you back. Man, it is Hey.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
By the way, I quick thank you everybody, and and look,
I uh, I'll say this very quickly. I appreciate anybody
that responded hey, And I wasn't looking for a sympathy
from anybody. I just I wanted to let you know that.
And just like many of you, we all have parents
that are going to get older and we're going to
have some issues to tend with. And that's the reason
why I was not here yesterday. I wanted to be
(03:17):
with you because love playing to tell the truth. And
I love that when you get mad when you don't
get it right, and you always justify it. And it's
one of the Monday charms. If I'll either get it
right or you have bad takes. Yeah, it's one of
the other. He went to the fence on that really quick.
It's it's pretty straightforward. And do you have your yesterday? Yeah,
you want to hear him. I want to hear him,
and we'll do him at the bottom of the hour, okay,
and see if I get him right. Which one right?
(03:37):
But yeah, my mom had a procedure yesterday and we've
got a little bit of some hurdles to overcome. But
I appreciate those of you that checked in on us,
and I appreciate that very much. And she's homeless and
comfortably so that's good. And you know, like I said,
I'd rather take vacation time to be away from you
because I need it from you, to be away from you.
But sometimes mom needs some little help. So that's why
(03:58):
I was able to do it yesterday. And now I'm
here with you to hopefully try to cover the next
four hours of the beautiful world we call sports Talk Radio.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Good.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Good to have you back, Matt.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Thank you very much. Glad everybody's doing well. Yeah, all right,
Uh so the local nine did win yesterday. That's very good. Yeah,
that's your phone, you're it's it's hauling oats. I can't
go for that. Is that your ring tone?
Speaker 4 (04:23):
No?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
I hear in the background it's on air. It's on air.
Why is this happening? Are you got it? You had
home oats back, They're going, what is happening? What is
wrong with you?
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I know that?
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Is that Doug online too? Oh my god, that was
hilarious I was hearing. I assume it's your phone because
if you do always your phone, I do have that
song on my because you're always on there looking at
videos when you shouldn't be. Put Doug online too. We
don't usually take a call on the first time, but
I want to make sure. Why Doug, Doug? Get them? Doug?
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Why are you so mad at me?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Doug? Hey?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
What what are we? A bunch of chicks out here?
Come on, Matt, you and whoever sings that song? Shut
your bum asses up? Shut your bummy dog, Doug? Do
you love that song?
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Doug?
Speaker 1 (05:04):
If Gloria Safon came into your house and said take
me Doug, you'd say, all right, I'm gonna take you
because my name is Doug. Whole different story, Jack. I
would look to the crap though, Yeah, you would, You'd
love it, she said, she sang in your ear, you'd
be going, oh baby, that sounds so good, Gloria's what
you'd be saying. You're just a fraud. I gotta figure
you out.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
Yeah in a wall boy, all.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Right, get out of here. Doug called him something you
dropped the butt on you?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Hey you did? I don't care. Games is Doug oh Man?
Speaker 3 (05:40):
All right?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Astros won? Astros did win.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
We played a song from the Miami Sound Machine, Yes,
and we're doing it again at noon. Please can we
switch it? All right? You know what? Because you are
fifty percent of the show. Then then I you know what, Jonathan,
even though I love the song, I will actually we
play it.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Can we play some? At least we get some pit bull?
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Mister while he's from Miami, right, mister three five, it's
pitbull from Miami. I see, I don't know, Okay, I
guess we should. I mean, he is one of the
greatest American artists. He's the Kendrick Lamar of the three five. Hmm, okay,
that's not smirched. The good name of Kendrick Lamar, Pulitzer
(06:20):
Prize winning artist. Can't wait, can't wait to see him
being honored by the Kennedy Awards.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
You just don't understand how persige is a pulitzer?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Is I guess? Okay, you're right, You're so right. You're
so wrong every time about this. It's actually astounding. Ladies
and gentlemen, welcome to the Kennedy Awards. Getting the highest
honor in music will be the following people. Billy Joel Yes,
Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Crosby, steals A Nash, and Kendrick Lamar.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Things you'll never hear. He's ahead of most of those.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
None of those guys have a pultzer that you mentioned,
all right, Kendrick Lamar does. Okay, twenty two Grammy, suck it.
Name your favorite favorite Polter Award winning singer. It's only happening.
It's literally only him, that's how prestigious it is.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
All right.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
So the aster is yesterday? Good God?
Speaker 3 (07:19):
All right?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
So were you worried about being no the aster was
being no hit in the first threetings of they gave me.
I was, and there was a lot of hard hit contact.
I was worried about them only scoring a couple of
runs because they were rocketing the ball over you know,
a man, as you know, high XPA and they were
running into some bad luck, but eventually the luck turned
their way in that fourth inning when they scored five runs.
It was quite nice to see, and they smacked the
(07:42):
ball round. Everybody in the lineup got involved. J Justin
Alexander was amazing. He'll be on the show today at
one thirty. And I had to put Jason Alexander the picture.
I didn't have to do it, but I don't think
people who have thought that I was getting actor Jason
Alexander just in case. Ok if we had a form
producer here, I won't mention his name, David Artists, He'll
(08:03):
probably be cha chasing down David Alexander, the Alexander, the actor.
And I'm like, yeah, bra, it's a picture. Do you
think Jason Alexander's taking a tired of talking about Seinfeld?
In every single interview he goes into, first of all,
how many interviews he's been in his life? Hundreds?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Okay, I have the definitive question.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Okay, and it's gonna if you if you're okay with this,
I'm only going to ask it once. Okay. I think
he's got a Tony Award, like he's an accomplished actor Oh,
for sure.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
It was in a Pretty Woman.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
He was obviously Seinfeld done a bunch of little movie
things here and there. He was in that Tony Kornheiser
show that listened last for like six episodes?
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Was it called Listen Up or something like that?
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Horrific? Okay, here's what I'm gonna say. Do you ever
when your name is called at the airport? Do people
run to see if it's really the Jason the other
Jason Alexander.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
That's how I'm gonna phrase it. Where do they when
does his name getting called?
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Well, think he's getting a new seat assignment, or maybe
stand by, or maybe he wants to sit next to
his friend or I don't know if he's married or not,
or has anybody you know, Like you know sometimes if
you're separated from your family that you go to the
counter and say, hey, I like to well you have
actually what family that I like? Yeah? I just go
basic economy. Yeah I'm not getting upgraded if you are
mister basic economy. So people trying to get a twenty
(09:21):
ninety ross, I don't if you know that you're at
your social spot, Jason Alexander, please report to the guest
garret at Sea nineteen. Oh yeah, and people don't up.
People are flocking from other gates. No, I mean in
the air like Jason, Like I know, Jason Alexander, that's
a pretty if you would have heard if you heard
(09:44):
ahe Elijah, would you not turn your ends? I would,
Jason Alexander May I came olaja in yes. But what
if it was Howard Elijah on? Okay, you know what
I'm saying. Yeah, I don't know. I I don't know.
Michael Douglas please report to Gate nineteen for a seat assignment.
(10:04):
That's a common name, Michael Doug Michael Douglas. I'm just
saying That's how I'm gonna do it. I'm not gonna say.
Are you tired of hearing all the Seinfeld jokes? Because
my guest Jays Alexander probably has. I mean he's had
to watch the shade a lot of money. Oh, they're
still putting the repeats out there, right, and they get
money every time they go those shots.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
On Netflix too. That costs them money.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
All right, So on the show today quickly, we will
tell you that we will have gut feelings at eleven
thirty minor, I got a lot of gut feelings to do.
You do a lot. Okay. One involves one of our
new favorite third basemen, or not a new but one
of our favorite third basemen trying to toughen it out. Okay,
(10:46):
he is rehabbing, Matt, he's electing to rehab rather than
go for surgery. How's that, ann end Rossie. You'll tell
us coming up at eleven thirty, and you will agree
and disagree with me. I think he'll be ready in
two weeks to take to get surgery twelve thirty. Don't
be my bit steealer. You've brought it up. I dout
you walked us all over the water. We just took
(11:08):
a drink twelve. Speaking of water, there is a former
Texans offensive line coach carrying the water of a former
Texans offensive line and we'll talk about that.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Joe Spot at twelve thirty.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
The Ross's NFL re want at one twenty, Jason Alexander

shout out to people that work in the hospital industry.
First of all, you're doing God's work. Number two, your
cafeterias just suck an know they're trying to get better.
Speaker 6 (11:55):
Ross.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Have you been to a hospital cafeteria lately? Oh, my god,
not really. Oh so yesterday they have these cafe and
that the Memorial Herman Hospital in the Woodlands. And it
was a Philly cheese steak place. I thought it was
called I don't know what's called it. It was like Philly
cheese with a kick k kick mean k o r
(12:18):
e a Korean kick. Oh okay, So I thought this
is gonna It was a food truck. No, this was
a stand. This was one of the little areas inside
this deli air right. I was like, man, this could
be great. I'm gonna get like a Philly cheese with
some Korean spices. Oh, we know you love kimchi. I
do love kimchi. My stomach didn't love kimchi, but I
love it. Okay, So I said, I'll have. I'll have
(12:40):
one of those Philly cheese steak Koreas and had some
spicy salon and had sweet potato fries, and then it
had to I take a bite of it.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
It was roast beef.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
It wasn't even like Philly cheese.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
It was.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I took one bite. I'm like, damn, I spend sixteen
dollars for this.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
You need some slice sirloin in there.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
You have to sirloin on a Philly cheese.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I think so? Oh, I think they'd kick you out
of Philly, saying be arrested. Massive shout out to the
people that have limited options to eat roast beef. Oh man,
I like roast beef, but I do too, but it
just didn't. It didn't fit. Didn't fit. So it's just
my daily food option. Thank you, Matt. I think you
and I would have actually agreed on this. Sometimes we do.
(13:20):
We do, but most of the times you're wrong. You're
just losing in there.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
That's fine, you know what that was rude.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Welcome.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
It's good to have you back. Yeah, I gotta catch
up from not taking any shots yesterday. Oh you didn't.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
You were nice to be Jonathan.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Was he nice to me for a full four hours
while you didn't even mention his name? Not really other
than go follow me and I'm that that's it. Oh
oh yeah, I didn't mention that you only started pimping
your Instagram when I started doing it. So follow at
sports RV on Instagram. I did say that my instagram
is also go ahead at sports empty for those of
you who like to follow me there, appreciate it if
you do, that's great. Astros win tonight again if you
(13:58):
follow me on Instagram at sports empty. False promises. Let's
talk to some folks before get back to the ASTROSK conversation.
And we got to get to some Texans talk here
too little because there's something I've been noticing about what's
going on, whether it's in Houston or in Virginia. Jim
on seven Hinty Jim, good morning, Hello, Jim.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Good morning, Sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Sure.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
First of all, just I'm a first time caller, a
longtime listener. Thank you for taking my call, and I
do appreciate you shouting out to the hospital industry. My
son goes to Texas Childrens in the Woodlands.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Every four weeks.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
Been doing it for about nine years, and they're phenomenal
staff and the food there is awesome, just to say.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
But earlier, you.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
Guys were talking about Holland Oates and I just recently
learned the Collin Oates emergency hotline is still active and
you can call seven one nine two six six two
eight three seven.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
What is that about? He's given a that? What was that?
Speaker 2 (15:01):
What do you mean he was getting on a phone number? Yeah,
he said calling Oats.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
For like the song and the people emergency Like, uh, yeah,
he was talking about was there a hot line called
calling Oats back in the day? Well, because we were
talking about hollow Oats. Are you okay? No? I think
that was because I just want him. No, I didn't
hang up. I just put him on a hold and
he hung himself up. Oh that that was a rib
(15:27):
I think No he no, wait that you were okay?
You weren't paying attention. He was talking about there there's
a hotline back in the day, and you can still
call it today to call I don't know you. Was
there something called calling Oats? Okay? But I don't like
giving numbers out of way anywhere? Okay? Yeah he was
he was just being nice and genuine I think. Don't
(15:49):
you wanted to hang up all of a sudden, I
don't know. No, I hung them up.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Oh you hung up? Okay, y'all hung him up.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Oh I didn't. Yeah, I didn't hang him up.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
I was man.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
He was just trying to tell us. I'm I'm googling
it now, calling Oates. It was a It was a
popular hotline that played Hall and Oats songs on demand. Well,
then I said, I apologize. I just I I had
never heard of that before, and I just don't like
giving out phone numbers because that's the last thing we need. Okay, Okay,
Well it was harmless. Okay, gootness. I'll make sure and
shout out in text children's hospital. Yeah, if you're in
(16:23):
the health healthcare industry, God bless you on multiple reasons.
All right, So let's get back to the Astrosk conversation
and eight to the final score.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Can we call calling Oates on air?
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I'm not doing it? Why not? I can't do it?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Okay, I don't want you in trouble. How are you
gonna get in trouble? I know who's going to give
you in trouble. I won't get you in trouble is
Daryl Hall gonna get pissed at you. Hall and Oates
don't speak to each other anymore. Yeah, okay, well then
yeah they're fine. I was just curious. So apparently you
call the number and then just Hall of Oaths music
is playing just Rando song.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
I guess so, huh Okay.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Sandy Alkintara was throwing Bebe's ross for a while, okay
until the Astros put up a five spot. Mm hmmm,
Well he was getting hit hard and they were getting
some bad luck, and then they finally h the hard
hit balls started to find the ground and not gloves. Ye,
So it's it's incredible that the Astros went from one
(17:26):
hot team to another hot team.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
The Yankees went to South Florida.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
And got swept. Uh huh. Now, I don't like to
make a lot of bets on sports because it ruins
the fun for it. For me, m makes it more fun.
But didn't it feel like that was the Astros were
the play, especially after the emotions of the of the
Marlins having three huge crowds at their game beating the
Yankees three straight times. So the Astros were the play
(17:52):
against the Marlins, who had won nine out of eleven,
and you're Jason Alexander, who last couple of starts weren't great,
and Sandy al Conto's last two starts he threw six
innings up, excuse me, twelve innings of shutout ball. I'll
give you a comp on this. Okay. What did the
Astros do when they went to Arizona? They swept them? Correct?
(18:17):
Who was waiting for them in Houston for the very
next game? I don't remember the Athletics, okay, and then
they got swept correct, Okay, natural letdown? Okay, hashtag natural letdown? Hashtag.
So Sandy el Contera was letting down his team because
they had swept the Yankees. No him personally, just the
(18:38):
Marlins collective group did drew thirty five thousand each game there.
You know, nobody goes to thirty five. It takes three
games of fill thirty five thousand seats in Martin and Miami.
They had ten thousand the game yesterday, and that's probably
a little bit of an embellishment.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Well, it was close.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
It was minus one thirty for the Astros, plus one
ten for I'm sorry, minus one thirty for the Marlins.
So there were slight favorites, so you could have got
your plus money. Man, what I'm saying we can gamble
here in Texas stead have an easy piece. Well we can't.
We cannot. We don't have autonomy with our own money.
We have to go to Louisiana or Oklahoma. It's fine,
it's fine. I'll just give them the money. Yeah, whatever.
(19:15):
Things are going really great in the Texas legislature. I
don't even think I know what's going on. I'm just
kind of I have so many things. I have Republican
and Democrat muted on my timeline, but still stuff leaks through.
So I definitely don't have a clear picture, but I
know that it's a mess. Yeah, that's why I spend
my life just watching AI video. Yeah, exactly, that's fine.
(19:35):
Just go ahead, let's live in the clouds, folks. Lets
you could get were the society's in hospice care. Let's
just get comfortable. I'm let me tell you something. You
know what I do every day? I send out ten
AI videos. I think you're funny to my buddies. Okay,
I don't say I don't get any. Would you like some?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
No?
Speaker 2 (19:51):
They're really rude. They're sports related.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
No, Okay, the usually about seventy five year old eighty
year old men talking about things that eighty year old
men should not be talking about. And if you know
what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about? Yeah,
like body and Cassoni. Can I send you one during
the break, Yes, but don't make a habit of it. Well,
I won't do it at all. Okay, just give me one.
(20:15):
I'll send you on. Just give me a I'll send
you a doozy. Okay. Ten twenty you're gonna say something,
it'll be clip, so I'm not gonna say, don't do it.
Ten twenty eight, it's about Thomas show at Ross seven
one three two one two five seven ninety seven one
three two one two five Sevenati are we getting enough
good news? ROSSI on the Texans training camp reports on
(20:36):
the defense, But are you noticing it? We'll discuss more
plus more on the astros in a minute here. On
seven ninety ten thirty four, it's Matt Ross with you
on Sports Talk seven Anti Anthony State two. We'll get
to you in a matter of moments. So you notice
in the exact same thing that I am and every
(20:57):
time and look, truth be really told there's only a
few respective reporters in with the team in West Virginia.
But everything I see among those I respect, Uh, the
offensive line is getting to ask kick Ross now again,
I can't. I can't be well. JJ told us not
to worry about this stuff, so I'm not gonna worry
(21:19):
about this stuff. But then I can't come to you
and say I'm concerned. But it is just a trend.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
And they are also going we went, where did Pro
Football Focus have them a defensive line like top five?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
They are going into an elite defensive line. And frankly,
this the question that I continue to think about. I'm
sure many of you that are Texans fans do with exects.
I think, can this off Can this defense be so
good that it can cover up a lot of the
warts on the offensive side. I think I think it's
gonna be the formula that the De Demiico Ryans and
a lot of defensive coaches have always wanted. It's win
with the defense and the running game.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
And c J.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Stroud is a luxury anything.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
If he need to pull a rabbit out of the
hat and he needs to win you a game, he
can do that. He's done that before. Yeah, Pro Football
Focus had them fourth a defensive line in all of football.
I mean, so let's go let's look at Jonathan Alexander's
because he's the report, he's the beat reporter for the
Texans for the Chronicle. Does a great job. It does
a nice job. So let's I mean, and today it
(22:17):
feels like it's a little better than yesterday. One three
hour run by Nick Chubb. Two six yard run by Chubb.
Three three yard run by Daria Gumbowaile, which again, what
they're trying to do is hand the ball if they
were not trying to reinvent the wheel here, No, there's
no play action to it. Let's play One fifteen yard
run by Chubb to c J Strod tried to get
(22:37):
to Nico Consmo, was intercepted by Kamari Lassiter. Three Chubb
four yard run, four Stroud sacked. Not great. I mean,
it's not it's not great. So I'm just I'm just
Damian Pierce, by the way, passing a physical off the
(22:58):
pup list expected to be a practice that I have
not heard his name being called any of these play drills.
So I'm just and it's hard for us to be
able to get a real gauge until we see them
actually competing. They'll be Saturday Minneapolis against the the Vikings.
But yesterday especially because let me tell you, I was
in the hospital waiting room for all together nine hours,
so I'm just scouring Twitter all day long just to
(23:21):
see what's going on. And everybody that was there that
I respect, and there's many people that I don't respect.
That's a different issue. We're talking about how bad the
offensive line was. It's been a concern, and then you
also had yesterday we were talking about how Cam Robinson
(23:42):
went down with an injury. I don't know if he
was back practicing today we heard anything about that. Not
seeing him there now, okay, and that Blake Fisher wasn't
even considered to be one of the tackles. They bumped
Arianta Erstrie to left tackle, then they bumped Titus Howard
back out to right tackle and went from there. One
of the reasons for optimism for me this off season
(24:04):
was saying, hey, Blake Fisher went from well horrible and
losing every rep at the beginning of the season last
year when he was thrown into the fire because of injury,
to at least kind of holding his own and I
was hoping, you know, off season workout program, another year
of growth, maybe we'll see him emerge as an optionate tackle,
and at least based on these very small samples of
(24:25):
a couple of practices, it doesn't seem like the Texans
feel that way, feel like that they can trust him
at right tackle. Otherwise he would have been I think
inserted in that situation. But again, we're just going off
a couple of reps at practice. That doesn't necessarily mean
a whole lot. But it did raise an eyebrow for
me and talked about it with Texans WEX yesterday about
(24:46):
how Blake Fisher. I mean, clear you don't want to
call it a wasted pick and a bust at this point,
but I would say planning for him to have more
of a role than he has so far in practice.
The Texans did release a depth chart for Saturday's game,
but it's very loose because again the number one quarterback
of c. J. Stroud and I would be completely stunned
(25:08):
if CJ. Stroud threw even put the uniform onto play
against the Vikings. But this is the unofficial depth chart
leading into the game on Saturday. Left tackle, Cam Robinson,
who did not I don't think took part in practice today.
Lake and Tomlinson's at left guard, Jarrett Patterson at center,
Titus Howard at right guard, and Arion te Ursury the
(25:29):
rookie at right tackle, Juice Scrugs and Blake Fisher, two
relatively high draft picks in the last three year Sports
RV at second team on already what was a suspect
offensive line to begin with. Yes, two recent second round picks.
And if you take lineman in the second round a
(25:50):
couple of years into their career, they're supposed to be
starters for you, and that's not happened. That's why everybody
says draft, offensive line, draft, offensive line draft. Well, Nick
Cassara has been drafting a lot offensive lineman. They just
haven't been working out. Yeah, I wonder who if there
is a there's gotta be some money in his in
his room, not his room, but his office department that
runs around the country chasing after and scouting offensive limon.
(26:13):
Some guys have expertise. I I've got a good set
of eyes for cornerbacks. I've got a good defensive back strategy.
I've got I know how to look at defensive line.
I look at wide receivers, that's I mean, Cassara's got
to be like, Okay, granted it is early August, they're
still a month away from the start of the season.
(26:34):
But seeing the depth chart with those relatively high selection
second and third round guys that have been a linkue
now a couple of years, not the starting lineup at
least on this very very unofficial depth chart. And plus
it that depth chart matches the type of performances we've
been hearing about so far for the Texans A training camp. Yeah,
(26:55):
it's got to be a concern.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
It does.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
And as far as yeah, Nikosse and evaluating, I just
don't know, you know, where was Juice Scruggs on the
entire everybody in the NFL's boards relative to Nick Cassario.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Same thing for Blake Fisher.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
So if you take these guys, it's such an inexact
science to where you can have somebody who everyone thinks
is a polishing, great product and then they just don't
work out.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
And again, not every second round pick works out and
every third round picks out. But if you've got one
particular category that you've spent upper multiple times Yeah, you're
just like somebody's not looking at the same tape that
other teams are looking at. Let's talk to Anthony once
a little Astro conversation. Anthony, Good morning to you.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
Hey, good morning guys. Hey. First of all, I appreciate
you guys.
Speaker 8 (27:40):
I do work from Amoyal, Herman and Matt I I
do have to agree.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
However, ar cafeteria and the medical center.
Speaker 8 (27:47):
Is a little bigger and a little better nice than
those of the outlying campuses.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
What's the what's the go to meal for you in
the medical center?
Speaker 8 (27:54):
I'm just curious, honestly, the cheeseburgers is pretty down there.
I do work nights, so I try to stay away
from eating at the cafeteria, but the cheeseburger is pretty solid.
My question for you guys is this is, of course,
if if Perettas is able to get back this year,
(28:17):
the question of who is the odd man out in
terms of the starting lineup has started to swirl, and
I know that the Astros were intending on now maybe
moving Perettis to second base. Dana says he likes to
put his best foot forward and win right now, even
though he set the team up for future success.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
As well.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
And my thoughts are, is, is Cam Smith out of
the starting lineup and this is assuming every everybody's healthy.
Do you move Hey Sus Sanchez to right field and
I'll to Vada left and Perettis is playing second.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
I mean, I'm curious.
Speaker 8 (28:54):
How you guys see them maybe shuffling those things around.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Anthony, I I hate doing this to you, but I
can't give you an answer because I don't know who's
healthy and who's not. I'm sorry, I just I can't
use Albarez in the conversation. I can't use peritis in
the conversation because I'm just not sure one or two
(29:20):
or both are gonna come back and have a meaningful role.
I hope I'm wrong on this, but until I see
twenty six healthy men on one roster with players that
you just talked about, like Jake Myers, we don't know
about that. You know, they've already sent Jacob Meltain down,
and Jacob Mountain was supposed to be guy. It was
gonna be allegedly a corner outfielder Ryeus was brought here
(29:41):
for additional debt.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I'm sorry, I'm a fraud. I can't give you an answer.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
I just can't because I don't deal with the when
everybody gets healthy car because I felt like I've been
doing that since the start of the Season's that's fair.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
I feel like the Astros, I mean, even in their
current stay right now, I feel like they're in a
decent position in terms of depth because you have Dubon
and Ureas that can you know, kind of play.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
He can mix and match those guys right and.
Speaker 8 (30:10):
Taylor Trammell has been a very pleasant surprise. And I
do think even if the Astros get one healthy, I
do think Taylor Tremmell has a spot on a playoff
roster just because he can really go get it in
center field and he takes pitches, he has extended at bats,
he gets on base. So I think Taylor Trammel has
(30:31):
been a really pleasant surprise as well.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
But I appreciate you guys taking my coach.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Thank you, Anthony, don't be a stranger of the show,
and again, thank you for your all your hard work.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
I think you're just going to see platoons.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
I think you're going to see Jesus Sanchez against lefties
in the playoffs, and then Cam Smith against righty's, either
of them in right field. I think in center it's
going to be a mixture of Tremmell, Dubon or Myers
if he's healthy, depending on matchups. And then I would
say the same thing with Ketcher. Uh, with Diaz and Karattini,
you're just gonna go based up on matchups. And then
(31:02):
probably in theory, I mean we could figure out what's
going on with all two v and left field and
yord On. I imagine they're not gonna want him even
though it's a hand injury. I don't know if they're
gonna still want to try to put him out in
the field, but you'll be able to mix and match
some guys. I don't know. It's not gonna be everybody's
gonna be the odd mount at any one time, unless
cam Smith, who it can kind of turn things around
(31:25):
to where you can feel good about him against both
righty's and lefties, to where you say, you know what.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
He he is.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
He's just banging on the door so much and playing
so well against no matter who it is, that we
have to keep him in the lineup every day. As
of right now, I would guess, assuming Jordon comes back,
that would be the situation. And I'm ill prepare for
to do that right now. Okay, so if you want
to deal in the current uh, you need better defensive
(31:54):
working left field and bigger ballparks. Yeah, and Altov could
be at second and then you could play Sanchez and
and Smiths. Yeah, but Bryce Matthews not being able to
step up beyond that three home run spurty head probably
simplify things a little bit. And that's the reason why
when they got Urius, who can do that? You got Altuba,
they can do it. I mean, it's it's a not
(32:16):
a mess, but it's a there's a lot of puzzle
pieces and you can just create up comedy. Yeah, it's
not even a mess. It's tools in the toolbox. It's depth.
It's what that's what this team has been lacking. It's
very very good. And guess what, I think Joe spot
has done a great job all year of putting guys
in positions to succeed, finding the right matchups for them,
and and putting it and getting guys off the bench
and pitchit situations and having them thrive. So I think
(32:38):
it's a good problem. I think it's a very good problem.
I wouldn't call it a mess, but it's it's a
it's a jumbled puzzle that you're still missing a couple
of pieces and those pieces are on the injury list.
Yeah and even yeah when you get those pieces back.
The biggest piece, of course is ord On. This lineup
is going to be nasty with ord On in there.
If you go Paina al Tuve, alz Correa and then
(33:02):
you know Sanchez, Walker, Diaz, whatever, or do you want
to put him in? What is that?
Speaker 5 (33:06):
That was?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Did I just six? That's seventy? That is a World
Series caliber lineup with Hunter Brown and Frommer on the
Mountain Games one and two. You feel good? Feels real good?
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Maddy?
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Which Farmmer?
Speaker 4 (33:22):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Stop stop I did the postgame on didn't do that.
I'm just saying stop. I'm just saying we got He's
gonna be fine. That was ugly for that, Yeah, but
that was that was a lot. First of all, he
can't feel to save his life. We know his entire life,
and so did Alex Conner. Diaz didn't do him any favors, Hayesu.
Sanchez didn't do him any favors. Throwing a ball home
along and run to advance when they had no no
(33:44):
shot throw it. They had no shot at throwing anybody
out at home, and then there was a lot of
soft contact. Farmer's still good, what's up? I ain't scared.
I need it's been two I need, I need awesome
farmmer back. I didn't like what I saw this weekend
ten forty six on Sports Talk seventy. Matt Ross with
you ten fifty two here on Sports Talk seven on
(34:05):
any of these a twoesy edition of the show. I
got Philly's coming up in about forty minutes from now.
That's week Oh okay, and you get to make your
predictions on a variety of things. Hey, we were supposed
to do the to tell the truth. Right now, let's
get some music going here, Jonathan, because I want to
see if I get this? Oh, do you have to
full on sell they's I just want to read them.
That's just do a quick read. I can try and
sell them like I did yesterday. That's so I don't care. Okay.
(34:29):
If we want to add production value, that's great. If not,
it's fine. Oh quick. Note the Astros starting an opener
A spot would not announce whom tonight, and then it'll
be Arraghetty tomorrow. Yeah, that's good. I don't think he's
gonna tell us because he probably wants to keep it
secret for the Marlins. And who's there is Clayton McCollough.
Is he still the manager? I thought it was dommatically
(34:51):
like until like two years ago. Okay, turn it up,
I get get the managers in Major League Baseball have
been fired this year. It feels like, yeah, I go
all right, Matt number one. Now this is before they
won yesterday. I remember we were all doom and gloom
after losing against the Boston Red Sox, So you got
(35:11):
to put yourself in that mindset. Despite the sweep against
the Red Sox, the Astros will still win the AO
West by three games. Arraghetti, Javier Garcia coming back lineup
is going to be stacked. Astros still win the West.
How many of these do I believe three? I only
believe one because the win him the West by three. Okay,
go ahead, number two. After a weekend of pass balls
(35:34):
and not throwing out anybody, Jiner Diaz will not be
the Astros primary catcher come playoff time. Too much of
a defensive liability, and Victor Carrattini has better offensive numbers overall,
not predictions. It's just your general take though, right your opinion? Okay, continue.
Number three Estak Paratus will be the odd man out
(35:55):
this offseason among him, Christian Walker, Carlos Coorea, Jeremy Pine,
Bryce Matthews, Ramon Urias. They're gonna have to move on
with somebody and it will be easy Paradis. Now, there
was a sportscaster that said, don't be surprised if Paradis
is a one and done with the Astro. Remember who
said that a long time ago. That's true, but that
was you know what that was kind of You're gonna
(36:16):
take the wrong approach and might maybe be right on
that just because he I kind of rip his hamstring.
They probably don't even trade for Carlos Korea and then
none of this happens.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
But that's okay. We'll see what happens when that all right?
Speaker 1 (36:27):
And number four, number four Astros win boast both of
the next two series against the Yankees and the Marlins.
You have my personal guarantee a right four and to yesterday,
four and two, yes win most series. Did you get
did you get the Jonathan, don't say what you said.
Did you get it right yesterday?
Speaker 4 (36:44):
Or no?
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Of course I got it right. Matt to come on, now,
you got it right and everybody was shocked. Yeah, I
would say you're getting something right as a shock. That's true.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I believe that you think the Astros are gonn win
the West by three games.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Must have been an easy one. Dang quick, Yeah, that's
that was from the jump. Sorry, okay, that's good, that's good.
All right, now, I'm sad.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
I didn't mean to.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
I mean I was bad enough when Jonathan got it right.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
That's the whole point. Shot you we took five collars,
and two of the five got it right.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Three of them got it right.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Okay, uh are any of the three completely preposterous in
your mind?
Speaker 2 (37:27):
None of them are preposterous.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
I I think probably Esch Paradis is the favorite to
be the odd man out, but I mean, this hamstring
thing muddies those waters. Jeremy Payne would be the longer shot.
I don't think anybody's gonna want to. You don't have
to send money with Korea or Walker, but I think
sending I think Paradus one, and then maybe Walker with
sending some money would be number two, and putting Paradis
at first, which he has played before mm hm oh,
(37:54):
there is no doubt in my mind they're going The Astros,
just by the sheer numbers, are gonna have a very
very busy offseason. Yeah. So you're a hot stove guy,
You're going to love the Astros because they're gonna do something,
and you know what they gotta do. I still think
they gotta replenish pitching. I I don't think this. I
(38:16):
know this because guess what Dana was trying to do
up until four fifty nine on the trade deadline. You
want a Dylan Seats. You know who could net you
a good starting pitcher, Somebody with a lot of value,
a couple team, a couple of years of team control.
Does his agent rhyme with Norris? Somebody would be difficult
for you to resign, and you want to mind to
(38:37):
find some value. I'm not saying it's gonna happen. Carls
carea playing shortstop.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
For the.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
Monkey Wrench in that plan, because he when he publicly
said that he's been wanting to play third base for
a couple of years. It makes a lot of sense
to keep paying it. But it also makes a lot
of sense to be flexible and listen to offers and
if you get some sort of godfather offer, I don't know. Oh,
(39:07):
well put it this way, Jeremy Payne's name one hundred percent.
We'll be discussed in trades this offseason. Yes, I would
agree with you. And will they be acceptable? Well, it
would have to be an incredible haul, incredible hall, and
I think Dana can do that. He's still hidden. He
(39:30):
said he's at eight seventy one. Ops, he had a
couple more hits. He's hitting three twenty four. Maybe you
just keep them. He's got to keep them. Maybe. And
I'm okay with that too. No, that's what I'm saying.
It has to be Are you really going to offer that?
I'm telling yeah, we got time to worry about that.
After the World Series celebration. Oh look at you? Well,
(39:54):
I mean why not? You had a great time. I
listened when I was on a roll with the Rockets,
I was like, he is, listen, you get you guys
were in front of some weird restaurant where you.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Know, we were at a we were at a.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Hotel. I can't do even try to rhyme it. No,
don't rhyme it. I thought you're in front of a
hotel at a restaurant. That's like word day at food. What. Oh,
you're talking about the parade? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh I
thought I sind you were talking about the night they won. No, no, no, no.
We're at a hotel. We got rooms. We were onto
three a m. We got frigging smashed on air. It
was good times. I did two hours too, I think
it did. I knew like one to three, two to four,
(40:27):
something like that. I remember doing in my room at that.
I mean the show. That's not eveny concern of mine.
That's fine. We were hanging out.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Ten fifty nine.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
It is the Mott Thomas Show with Ross Joe a spot,
whither said ninety minutes, got fillings in one half hour
of the News at noon and Jason Alexander the Astros
Picture join us here on Sports Talk seven ninety Prossy,
there is fight Words in West Virginia. Jonathan Alexander Kamari
(41:03):
Lassiter has tight coverage on Xavier Hutchinson, knocks it out
of his hands and intercept C. J. Stroud for the
second time today. On the next play, Stroud finds Kate Stover,
who is driven into the ground by CJ.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Gardner.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Johnson Stover rightfully took exception to it. Stover pushed CJ. Gardner,
Johnson and Wards were exchange. The two had to be separated.
Then first real fight of a camp of this is
now a second fight Dalton Schultz versus Russ Yeast?
Speaker 2 (41:34):
What Russ Yeast?
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Schultz not happy that Yeast hit him while he was
going down. Schultz basically ran up and tackled Yeast and
they went at it before everyone separated them. My first
question is who the hell is Russ's Yeast? It sounds
(41:59):
like a d line coach. I'm Russ Yo. Yes, I've
been in this game for thirty two years now, brother,
I mean low man wins. Not a great name. I
think it's a great name. Actually want to be called Ross.
Ye I don't want it for me. I think it's
a good football name.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Yez.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
You know what do you mean?
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Man?
Speaker 2 (42:23):
What if you were Ross?
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Your last name? I think the last name is the issue.
Not a great, nice name, It's a tough one. He
rises to the top. Matt he had never heard that before.
Huh Ross, Why does he want to use? Why does
he use neispor? Matt? Why? Ross? He doesn't want to
get a East infection boo who write this one down?
(42:53):
Folks will be here all week. I want to apologize
on behalf of the few amy members of the Seven
on the Air staff that are here. What is this
weird synthesizer version of this song? Seriously, this is not
This is not Kanti is it? This is gonna be
Oh look at you? Yeah, you're welcome, You're welcome. This
(43:16):
is like a house band version, right, This is like
what they do, like an award ceremony. Seriously, twenty minutes ago,
if you just said did you hear what happened to
Russ Yeast? Like it was Russ Yeast? I mean, look,
that's just a name. You're gonna lose on you just
(43:38):
are I think it's a classic. I don't think it's
a classic at all. I think I feel bad for
the kid. I hope he makes the squad Hobe he
makes a lot of money, because lord knows, he's probably
been made fun of eighty percent of his life. Craig
Russell Yeast the second what's what's his what's his position?
What's safety? He was a seventh round pick in twenty
(44:00):
twenty two of the l A Rams And what do
you play? Where? Do you play college? He played it
from thank You that's o G. Game Day or Prime
actually a little land Kansas State.
Speaker 5 (44:14):
I went to both.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Okay, Old Rush Yeast, you want to try it? No,
come on, I already did it. No no, no, no, no
no no, give him ex give yourself some.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
I'm not doing it.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
I'm done. I'm not doing what you're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Okay, I'm trying to find my fight mal and I can't.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Because think about this, maybe there maybe maybe the term
for the rising dough was named after Rush Yeast. Go ahead, No,
I'm not doing it. You just said no. You're doing
you get You do a better job than I do.
That's not true.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
I'll give you Bill Cosby. You giving me Bill Cosby?
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Yikes. He's still alive, yes or no? Absolutely, and apparently
got his eyesight back. What yeah, I thought he had
the glaucoma. No, I think it's I think you'scotted some
of it.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
Bank.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Oh good, good for him. I don't know. So there's
not fight camp. Excuse me, everyone, it's not Rust Yeast.
It's Russ r Uss Trevor on Twitter. Come on now,
m all right. So there's fights going down in Texans camp.
How are we feeling?
Speaker 2 (45:23):
That's good. Everybody's cranky. They're scrapping.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
I like it. Good to see the lads getting after it.
Here we go. Second team secondary is getting cooked. Oh great,
Davis Mills and Jayden Higgins just dominating this team. Drill.
That's okay, Jayden and Higgins making us a place well list,
Jonathan Alexander says, getting cooked. DJ B Enemy says, I
always say wide receivers have cooked the second team defenseman.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Man, have we used cooked too much in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 1 (45:51):
You're cooked? I've said it too many times himself. I'll
be the first admitted. Really, yeah, I don't remember you
saying that once? Oh all the time. Why don't you
say fried, freakazine slow, smoked like paradus is, hamstring, barbecued.
You want to go off the phone. We can do
barbecue chicken alert. Who's that that shack?
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (46:14):
He got it. Couldn't have been that bad. It's fine,
it's fine. So I thought, Jaden Higgins is supposed to
be on a first team. Oh the second team business.
It's just can't don't what what did what did JJ
tell you last week?
Speaker 4 (46:32):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
He told me don't take stats, but you get some
people making some observations. Battles are important, Mat, I know
you're keeping abreast of them for your Houston Toros draft.
By the way, I'm a complete fraud. I'm going to
compete again in the fantasy league because, as I said before,
blind squirrels gotta find an omange. I gotta win sometime.
(46:54):
And secondly, I can't win this year. I won three
years in a row. And secondly, I do want it
helps me with other players around the league, helps you
know in what's going down. Yeah, it's good. So I'm
HAPPI you're back, Matt. That's fine. Seven one three two
one two five seven ninety seven one three two one
two five seven million zero Matt and Ross with you
(47:16):
today until two o'clock this afternoon. We've got gut feelings
coming up in about twenty oh, Dad, jokes are pouring in.
Blame me, please go ahead read him. He was trying
to get a rise out of Yeast. Thank you, Kathy
is Russ Yeast's favorite holiday. Yeaster that was the worst one,
(47:37):
that was worse than mine. No, you went with an
issue that people occasionally have. What if he doesn't medicate,
He's gonna yeast to get an infection. We're trying to
do a serious show here are we? Since win? Well,
people like their sports. I didn't get the memo. Well
(48:00):
that's why the people will listen to turn the station
and go to other stations. Again, left that one on red. Okay, Sorry,
camp fights, how are we feeling? I mean, get to
the green bro, I mean, what are they What are
they gonna do? Be mad each other for a whole camp? No, no,
they're gonna go. They're going it's I was just gonna say,
it's not the heat because it's like seventy degrees there.
Oh that sounds nice. So Darlan Schultz versus Russ Yeast,
(48:28):
wouldn't you know what? Even if Russ doesn't make the team,
we're never gonna forget about old Rush Yeast. I got
a hot take hot about roll all right, see now
this is your fault. Now go ahead from hot take Villary.
I'll go ahead. Why don't they just let them fight?
Everybody always breaks up the camp fights. I mean, then
(48:49):
that what we do. I don't know how it was
for you, Jonathan in high school. We should let them fight,
like man, Let's see how this turns out. Oh, I
was the kid that was every fight would have phoned
you got You know why that you let them when
you were an Aldie because usually you guys put knives
underneath your jackets and stuff. That's why people No, noverybody
got stabbed. We would fight like men. Mattie, you don't
know on the football field you used to carry altworts
of weapons. No, nobody us in your underneath your shoulder pads. No,
(49:12):
I'm sick of I'm sick of your blatant stereotyping. Matt Okay,
it's ridiculous. It's uncalled for. There were no knives, there
were no weapons. Major you know, occasionally somebody got scratching
the eye with a shoulder pad.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Uh hook, but you know, okay, you also use that
to make beats.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
Yeah. Yeah, they didn't use real equipment in al d.
You didn't have a hook on your shoulder pads. Wait, Mann,
did you not play football?
Speaker 3 (49:38):
No?
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Oh, want to just let him fight Darling Shultz Russ.
You just want to get after it now, I guess
the injuries. Yeah, plus they don't want My guess is
if two guys fight, and let's say that you're you're
a friend of Yeast. Uh that you're gonna go defend
your brother, and that's gonna be making a much bigger deal.
(49:58):
Sometimes in life you gotta get your ass beat, and
either Rushy East or Dalton Schultz needs a life lesson.
I'd say I would say Dalton Schultz. Good for him,
But he was so finesse player last year. Bad year
last year. He just did just get in a circle.
Let him go after it. You know what? His season
wasn't the same after another radio station in town stole
him as a guest for us during Super Bowl cover.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
That's true, was the same player?
Speaker 1 (50:21):
Well, I think it's just because I don't know. Didn't
look right unblocking well, no, had the drops, couldn't get open. Yeah,
committed some terrible holding. It was part of the best.
He's like your fourth option, though, who cares Breve and
Jordan's back. We're all good with a Stover kid, He's
gonna do some. Yeah, Kate still double tight end set.
I hope he was a really bad block. True, it's true.
(50:44):
They're gonna need it. He just like keep him in.
I got all these wide receivers aren't an extra lineman,
especially because the offensive line is if is it literally
a mirror. I go round like today and practice. They're
they've mixed guys up again yet, nurse for your plan
all over the spot place. Yeah, Robinson training camp is transperimental,
(51:07):
But are we expecting Cam Robinson to a play seventeen
weeks and b be good at it? My dream was
that at some point it's Tay Robinson left tackle, Blake
Fisher right tackle. But clearly they don't like Blake Fisher
right now, so I guess that's not gonna work out. No,
All right, there you go. So that's uh so they're
(51:29):
fighting in West Virginia seven one three two one two
five seven ninety. If you want to chime into the conversation,
it's seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
Got feelings in twenty and fifty minutes now again for
those who've never been there before. Uh, here's how we
do it. Well, you call them with sports predictions, and
if you get them right, we get to call back
in future weeks and brag out him. You get them wrong,
don't worry about it. As long AS's not absolutely ridiculous,
(51:51):
we'll not make fun of you. I am stunned that
my partner has not brought up the Associated Press. Excuse
me the coaches poll that came out yesterday that has
his beloved halt Longhorns number one preseason, getting twenty eight
first place votes compared to twenty for Ohio State, fourteen
(52:11):
for Penn State, three for Georgia, and two for Clemson.
And the reason why you didn't brag about it is
for the exact right reason.
Speaker 2 (52:19):
Nobody gives a fall.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
It's meaningless the polls. First of all, they don't have
anything to do with anything when it comes to who
is going to make the college football playoff it. They're
just for blanking giggles, right, Help me out, tell me
there's something meaningful about the American Football Coaches Association announcing
(52:41):
their polls yesterday. It used to be something I'd say
that The cool thing is that I didn't know this
is that Texas has never been the week one at
number one team. It's a cool feather in the cap
and people do keep track of programs and how many
weeks they've been number one in various polls. But if
they go and lose to Ohio State in week one,
it doesn't matter, doesn't mean anything. So it's cool. It's
(53:03):
fun expectations are high. I think the Arch Manning hype
is real if their quarterback's name was Arch Dumfries Dumfries. Okay,
I don't know if they would be the number one
team in the country, but it doesn't matter, especially in
this day and age of a twelve team playoff.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
You gotta go settle it on the field, all right.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Another note Texas I mentioned Oklaho, Ohio State's two, Penn
State three, Georgia four. Notre Dame comes at number five.
LSU for those of you that are Tiger fans, coming
at number nine, oh Tiger SMU at sixteen A and
M at twenty one, Texas Tech at twenty four.
Speaker 6 (53:47):
One.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Non power for school in their Boise state at number
twenty five. Others receiving votes Oklaomba would be number twenty
six to two hundred and twenty one votes. No Houston, sorry, no, dudge,
you can stop can scanning. Well, they're not in there.
I mean, I'm looking like you beat me to it,
(54:08):
but you're not in there. Twenty five teams are excuse me,
it looks like and all like fifty one teams got
votes and yeah, Houston wasn't one of them. Buffalo got
a vote, and but not Houston. You unov got eight votes,
but not Houston. Memphis got thirty four votes, Army got
thirty three. You know what put the haters wrong with
(54:28):
big with a big opening week win against the Jacks.
The Jacks, Now I gotta win because it's gonna look
real bad in the program. I'm seriously suggesting to Willie
Fritz we play with only one of them. I'm gonna
look and see if there's a line. There can't be
(54:49):
a line in this game. Okay, yeah, I can't be
a line. There's no need to be a line. Let
me see. I'm going to look. I'm going to look,
all right, all these pop ups, man, it's ridiculous. So,
uh story today, says a Texas Tech. What I tell you,
twenty five million dollars just on football. So if you're
(55:13):
a Red Raider, and I got a lot of friends
that are Red Raiders, my oldest is being my number
one friend on this. Oh wow, all right, Shibroski's Broski,
twenty five million dollars. Texa Tech's going to send their
football team still off the board. There will be a line. No, oh,
come on, SFA it's not like their their Division two.
(55:33):
I mean it's basically a school you learn how to
get to shave and give haircuts. They're not taking on
the Visible Changes University. We got twenty three. I'm counting
it down, man, I'm counting it down. I mean, come on,
there's a Western Kentucky Sam Houston line. There's eventually got
to be a Houston and well usually FCS games are
not usually put on the board. That way, it'll be
(55:54):
on the board, Okay, trust I don't uh that is that?
I mentioned the text Tech money twenty five million, that's
less than what Ohio State spent on their players last year,
and the Ohio State won the national championship. Now this
is Cody Johnson, dude who's just made of money right,
means sold his company for billions dollars. I mean, is
(56:14):
he going to lose his mind when they go seven
and five again what they always do? It would be
pretty funny. It's not Cody Johnson, is it's Cody Cody
Cody Campbell. Cody Campbell like Cody john It was a
Cody of something. Yes, energy investor and businessman and of
course former former Red Raider player. I think the end
(56:37):
zone is named after him, or one of the new
club section seats over there is named after him. A
Jones Stadium. I'm gonna get the stadium named after him eventually.
So let me so this just and this, this this
happens if every year, I mean, you know, you have
big dollar boosters that spend money that they want to
do them, But now you're directly paying these guys. Is
he to sleep at night when they lose to U
(56:58):
of H on a Randall Saturday. I'm up in October.
I don't think that's happening, you know what I'm saying. No,
I mean this is how much do you I guess
if you're giving that kind of money by yourself and
you've got other big donors, I mean like Texas Tech
like to a M spent fifty five million dollars on
their athletic men's program, don't you just lose your mind
and eventually go what was his money going towards I
(57:21):
need wins? Is Joey McGuire in the hottest seat in
the country? Help me out? Would that not be the
case if Cody Campbell? Yeah, is Kirby Hocutz? So the
ida A textas no idea. Who I think it is?
Whoever's the adat text Tech? If Cody says I want
Joey McGuire fired, he's firing him, I would imagine. So, man,
(57:44):
that's that's a pretty powerful spot. Oh good, yes, sir, Yeah,
so joe McGuire. Good, look joe McGuire, Joey, Joey, I said, Joey. Okay, Joey.
I wish you the very many is it Joey McGuire.
My son does like him. Yeah, he hasn't always liked
all the Texas Tech coaches, and in the last times
they've been a whole lot of reason to know. But again,
(58:05):
when you think of Texas Tech, don't you think seven
and five. He's had a very Joey maguires has had
the most Texas Tech career ever eight and five, seven
and six, eight and five.
Speaker 2 (58:13):
That's exactly what Texas Tech is.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
Won the Texas and Independence Bowl, lost the Liberty Bowl.
That's Texas Tech football right there, folks. And maybe the
reality is if you spend twenty five million, you're not
getting twenty five million dollars back in athletes. You know why,
because the rule kind of is you get overpaid to
send somebody to love it. Well, they had to pile
the money in now because isn't the regulation board starting
things up soon? Yeah, I don't know. Well it confuses me,
(58:38):
but that's just it's just crazy to me. Which you
heard it here. First, there's going to be lawsuits against
that regulatory board. Oh you're talking about like the You
can't spend that money on that player. You can't spend
five million dollars on this player. You say, believe you,
it's my money and I want to spend it, and
I can do that. It's a clearing and again at
the house. Yeah, if they say no, what are they
gonna do? Just pay them on under table. Absolutely, We're
(58:59):
send them the court. Here we go more lawsuits and
c DOAA has been taking l's in the Supreme Court
for a while now.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
I'm very apprehensive about this next call.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
Oh no, no, this is Martin Angleton is one of
the least funny callers we have on the planet. He's
a terrible call. Martin. You're not funny. He's to sell confident,
it says Rush yeast joke. There's no way, Martin, we're
taking your phone call. So when I count to three,
I want you to hang up because it's not gonna
happen one thousand and one, one thousand and two, one
(59:31):
thousand and three. Martin, please hang up. You're not getting
on the show. You can wait till two o'clock. What
don't you call WEX with a Rush East joke. We'll
give you a cell number, Actually give WEX at Martin's
cell number, vice versa, vice versa. Okay, yeah, Martin, you're
not getting on. Yeah's hold all. We need some feelings
from those folks, right, sports predictions time, and I got
(59:54):
one on the astros. You're not gonna like, okay, and
I'll have it for you coming back seven one three
two one two five seven ninety seven one three two
one two five seven NINTI. If you have a sports prediction,
let your voice be heard. Next here on Sports Talk seven, NINTI.
(01:00:14):
Listen up, boy, so appealing?
Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
Wasn't that toommit?
Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
You'll they got a gun dealer. This is their gut
feeling on the Matt Thomas Show eleven thirty one at
matten Ross with you here on Sports Talk seven, NINTI
with this week that I should have got feelings and
for those of you are new to the show, first
of where the hell have you been too? If you've
been listening to horrific sports radio, Well, guess what, we're
(01:00:40):
not a whole lot better, but we're gonna at least
try it now. Best show in the city is not
even close me alright, I and Jonathan, Jonathan loves our show.
All right, let's get out who the choice. Yeah, he's
been asking to work for the eighteen forever.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
Yeah, that's request denied.
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
All right, here we go seven one three two one
two five seven seven one three two one two five seven.
Annie Ross, how did we do last week? Okay, so
this was pre trade deadline. You said the Astros are
gonna get a lefty bat. They did. You said they're
gonna get a right handed reliever, did not. I'm still
surprised at that. You said they will have to move
(01:01:19):
an active twenty six man player. They did, They did,
Ryan Gusto. Ryan Gusto gone.
Speaker 6 (01:01:24):
Hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
You said, ah, you Henniosuarez has traded. Also, I believe
you said the sun will rise yes, and he was.
And you said there will be no baseball played in
twenty twenty seven. That's a bombshell. That is a bombshell.
And I really hope I'm wrong, and I really hope
that the MLB realizes there were two million people that
(01:01:47):
watched a Rando Saturday rain delayed game between Atlanta and
Cincinnati that went one inning, Yes, on Saturday night, and
two and a half million people stuck around to try
to watch that bad boy Speedway series. Yeah, they resembled
the next day. They did, okay, and they ran out
of hot dog buns, yes, and not your cheese, but
(01:02:09):
plenty of skull. It was a fire firefest situation. Yeah,
they had a lot of skull okay, and marble reds.
Speaker 5 (01:02:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Apparently eighty percent of women there had skull between their
cheek and gums. Okay, not never mind, Astra, My Astros
will get Yeah, yeah, Astros will get a NASCAR people
are great. I'll just say that. I said the Astros
will get a lefty bat or switch hitting bat. They did.
(01:02:38):
I said they would get an infielder.
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
They did.
Speaker 8 (01:02:40):
Did.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
I said they would get a righty reliever. They did,
They did not.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
I said, that's it for the deadline. I was wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
So I think I was implying that they would not
get Carlos Korea. That was wrong. I said, Mariners would
make another significant move, and they did, and they did
the kind of ties ours together. You'll hen Thawadith and
I said, the Astros are still winning the American League West,
which they're going to do mid dog fight. I thought
(01:03:11):
it would be comfortable. It's not gonna be comfortable, but
which you do have not if this is supposed to
be a gimme here, you do have seven left in
the final week of the season against the A's and
the Angels. If they're not in full complete double A mode,
you can't beat them. You don't deserve to make the playoffs.
That should be a six and one week. Okay, So
(01:03:33):
you don't want me to tell you the schedule strength remaining.
You are schedule strength, guys, So go ahead and do it.
Astros schedule strength remaining twenty fourth in baseball YEP, large
part because of those set last week of games. Yeah,
seven games against the Angels, seven against the Orioles, three
more with the Rockies, three more with the A's, and
(01:03:53):
three with Seattle in Houston. By the way, six with
the Rangers, which looms large as well. It absolutely does.
Seattle twenty eighth strongest schedule remaining. You are twenty fourth
four Rangers. Rangers have the fourth most difficult schedule. Okay,
that's somewhat encouraging. Okay, but a lot of that is
buoyed by seven against the Wait what, no, I'm sorry
(01:04:16):
reading the wrong one. Six against the Astros, and then
they got games that get left against the Yankees, Brewers,
Blue Jays, good teams. When did you think the Brewers
would be a yeah? No, playing crazy? Really well?
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Okay, so there you go. How Jonathan do he?
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
The only thing I wrote down for him was he
said the aos comes down to one game, and I
think he didn't declare a winner. Or did you declare
the Astros the winner?
Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
I didn't declare winner. Okay, yeast does one game will
separate the first and second place team that that very
well could hit. Okay, all right, I'm gonna go first,
go ahead. I really hope him wrong. But in my gut,
this East sak Preide is taking a shot as a disaster. Yeah,
(01:04:57):
I'm look, I am not a doctor. I'm piggybacking that one. Uh.
And the Astros and their physicians and Peretis and the
agent and the manager and the general manager have all
been probably on conference calls skypes, all sorts of things.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
The player.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
I do respect the player that he wants to play.
But when you're hearing the initial reports of this being
a serious injury, taking a shot in the hamstring area
ain't gonna solve this what I'm afraid it's going to happen.
This is just to my gut. He's going to try
to come back, He's going to hurt it again. And
instead of being ready for the potential to start of
(01:05:41):
the twenty twenty four Seas twenty six season, or maybe
being ready to potentially be using a trade, you can't
trade him if he's going to wind up missing two
to three months up next year because they allayed this
two or three months. I think this is again. I'm
not a doctor, wasn't given the reports. I just every
time I hear the I want to rest. I want
(01:06:02):
to use this shot. I want to use oral medication
when something needs to be fixed needs to be fixed.
And I'm afraid that mister Prettis's hamstring is again so
bad that this is delaying the inevitable. This is a mistake.
I can't disagree with any of that. I'm with you.
(01:06:22):
I think he's out for the year. And that's okay.
They can still win the World Series without him thanks
to the moves that they made the deadline, even though
he was having a great season. But he ain't coming back.
I just don't see it. I mean, he is young,
He's gonna heal up nice and quick. What's he twenty five? Yeah,
I mean he's he's still got twenty six lest yeah.
(01:06:42):
I mean he's been moved around a bunch, but twenty six. Yeah,
another's got feeling ross. We got a bullpen game today
for the Astros. Okay, we're gonna we're gonna see another one.
This is none a one off. What do you mean
we're gonna see a spot? I had to do this again? Oh,
I have to go with an opener. Yeah, he was
an opener. Erghetty's coming back. Hovier might be another week, Okay, yeah,
(01:07:07):
it could happen.
Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Just that that's just a very manor gut feeling. But
I'm just gonna go with that. This will not be
the only time we see an opener. Okay, waited, tokime,
you on know what an opener is. Opener is a
guy coming out of the bullpen that will start the game.
But no, means is gonna finish it like he's a
reliever and he's only gonna throw one or two innings
and then you go basically bullpen the rest of Yeah.
Way like starting Caleb Ard for a game, or you
(01:07:28):
know who at SUSA if you will a Brian King
if you need to, they wouldn't use a Brayer. He's
more of a high leverage You would take a load
to midleverage guy and start him in your game, starting
one or two innings. Okay, there's your definition, opener, Ross
what you got this week? Tomorrow? Spencer Raghedtty makes a
start for your Houston Astros. Yes, and how's he gonna do?
(01:07:51):
He will go four innings, four and he will only
give up one and run. Okay, that's not a quality start.
But it's a low run support or low run giving
up start. Okay, yes, a low yes run giving up start. Okay,
what they call it? Uh? I have it's like a
(01:08:13):
mini quality. I have an NFL prediction for you. You do, Yeah,
go ahead, Micah persons we'll have a new contract with
the next week. I could see that. Yeah. Jerry Jones
usually back then all that bluster. If I want to
be traded just pay the man. He's worth it. I'm
him a Cowboys fan. You're not, Nope, I thought you were.
No go back to Dallas, Matt. I know I've heard
(01:08:35):
that before. It's been about ten years since something told
me that. That was a while ago. Yeah, it was fun though,
it's a good It was a classic moment in the
history of the Matt Thomas Show. All right, anything else
with you? I got Raghetty, I got Paradus, I got
good right now, Jonathan, what you got this week? I
was gonna go Raghetty goes five or more K's, but
(01:08:56):
I don't think about the anything. I think we could
do that, But I think I want to stay with
that five or more cas. I like that. I like
that a lot. I'm feeling like I should give them
some some love. Okay, so you're gonna go you're going
with her, You're not going with I'm going with I'm sorry, Spencer,
Arraghetty five or more case Astros win series in New York.
Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
You sound like you mean it. We'll sleep.
Speaker 1 (01:09:21):
What's up? I didn't say they sweeping them, sweeping them,
swiping them. They're not sweeping them. Now, are they gonna win?
Area's up? There in New York. They don't talk like
that in New York. Well, I didn't say they did. Matt,
what are you doing a show in Fayetteville, Arkansas? I
don't know. I don't know why I started talking about this,
and now I can't stay. You sound like Michael Barriett
(01:09:43):
doing a sports show. Ramon, Right, you ever had a
Marlin when you were dying in Miami? Now? Can they
still call it Yankee Stadium? And it's not the real
Yankee Stadium? I like the old Yankee Stadium? Ramon, You
know who Catfish Hunter was? I like Catfish like that
(01:10:05):
remote Is it John Cardilos Stanton or she and Cardilstanton?
Or is it Mix Stanton? I liked it better when
he was just Mike. Remember when Mix Stanton used to
be on the Astros pregame show? Yeah, what's going on
with them? Not there? This year? They didn't hire him back.
I didn't have anything to do with his there's what
(01:10:27):
tweets did it?
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
He had a friend on there. By the way, It's
another thing I like to do.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
When I was at the hospital for nine hours yesterday,
I was looking at various bots that were showing up
on my for you tab, and I was hitting them
figure out why they were on my for you tab.
You know what, people that I know and follow follow
the bots. They're showing up because you're clicking.
Speaker 2 (01:10:57):
I ain't click.
Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
I don't click that staring. No, No, those things are
a diamond dozen. I don't got time for that. I
think the real authentic ones, I mean the bots. Okay,
all right, seven one three, two one two five seven ninety.
Now it is your turn. You've heard our predictions. What's
in our gut? Seven one three two one two five
(01:11:18):
seven Ninetie Anthony and dear park Anthony, what's in your gut?
This week?
Speaker 5 (01:11:23):
Hey guys, I have two for y'all.
Speaker 8 (01:11:25):
My first one is that three AO West teams will
make the postseason this year. And my second one is
Vegas has u of H at five and a half wins.
I'm gonna go the over by a game and a half.
Have them going seven and five this year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
M hmm. That is gospel, my friend, Anthony, with piggyback
off that you have H wins at least seven games
this year. Boom, you heard me stutter and stutter the
work last season. I don't remember. I think it's like
five and seven for something like that. That's what I
remember too. Here's what gonna happen. They're going to beat
s FA. They're gonna pummele them. They're gonna beat Rice. Yeah,
(01:12:03):
come on, man, congratulations meeting up on Rice in SFA.
They're gonna be horrible. They're gonna beat Colorado in the
Rye University. They're gonna beat Lady. They're gonna beat Texas Tech.
That's four right there. And I'm to look at the
rest of the schedule. Here, what else Texas A and
m Beaumont on the schedule. We're gonna beat We're gonna
beat Central Florida. We're gonna beat Arizona. We're gonna win
(01:12:26):
at Oklahoma State. There's about seven right there. We're gonna
beat West Virginia. Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
In Washington, DC and back to the White House.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
I didn't say all that. Don't be surprised, old sneaky seven.
Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
When Houston's gonna come in and go to a bowl
game in phillip A Stadium and bring thousands of people going,
definitely not.
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Gonna phillip A Stadium.
Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
I mean, let's not be ridiculous. Uh, they were four Oh,
I'm sorry, look at the attendance records. Don't get mad
at me because nobody's going to your games. That's your
own fan base and Cougar fans.
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
You know that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Well, we weren't happy with the career the previous administration.
It's just a basketball school, Matt. You just gotta just
stick with that disclaim it. Well, if it's a basketball school,
I will be ready to watch a national championship. You
of aged versus Purdue national championship book it, let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
This is.
Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
Okay, we'll be Texas like Ted that for sure won't
be SFA. I don't know. I think they got a
good portal class. Sean Miller's loading up the portal class.
I'm sorry. I'm just trying to find the highest attended
game for you guys last year. Geez, can we get
some calls? So I have to talk to eighty five thousand?
Oh there's eighty three? Oh that was out o cool?
(01:13:38):
You know I'll even take Martin Angleton.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Oh well, Eric gut feeling on the Matt Thomas Show.
Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
I've been weighing over our bet for the hibachi lunch
on Kyle Tucker. Eh, sir, Okay, what oh you want
to know, because he's been having a bad couple of weeks.
I think his oh ps is still eight sixty seven.
I mean it's still outstanding, but he is slumping a
(01:14:08):
little bit. Okay, still has a good batting overall numbers
of eighteen home run sixty one RBIs twenty three stolen bases.
That's really good. Now we'll keep it as this.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
No, we First of all, it was it's fast casual.
Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
You upped it to hibachi, yes, now fast You didn't
know you then up to it to fast food for
the three of us whoever our producer is at the time.
That's right, Jonathan, you won't be taking advantage of this
because you'll be gone. But uh you know, yeah, set
I have seven unless you have eight or more. On
(01:14:43):
the link of the contract, seven point five is the line. Yeah, okay,
y'all about this for months. When did y'all start this, like, oh,
a year ago? Yeah, we've been We've been sitting on
this for a while. Yeah, so we're talking about a
fast food for the three of us and a hibachi. No,
you're not about it about you, Jonathan.
Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
You met I can't pay for you. I ain't paying
for you just know, Matthew, buy me, I'm running that tab.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
Just this nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Woo steak of shrimp. No, we gonna get meet my
good friend Ribbi. Get yourself a chicken breast and call
it a day. Getting some Ribby's. I'll order the food
for us. No, sir, I'm upgrading to Frida Rice. I'm
already letting you know. You're gonna progress four dollars more.
I'll get the tip. No, no, the winner gets everything. No,
(01:15:27):
I'll get the tip. That's fine. I'll take it by
that if if you win, if I win, I'm not
getting the tip. Let's go to the phones, Kevin and pairline. Kevin,
went's in your gut this week? Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:15:38):
I have got feeling that that you're going to tell me.
Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
To break up with my girlfriend. I'll make this pretty quick. Okay.
So went last year with my daughter to Boston and
of course, uh breg Bregman, you know, lit up the
Red Sox. We swept them. We went to two out
of the three games Friday and Sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
And then.
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
This year went ahead and took my girlfriend and her
daughter and you know what happened.
Speaker 9 (01:16:08):
So that's one gut feeling and actually it's going to
be your gut filling that I'm gonna go with.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
No, wait a minute, I leave the hold on the hold,
hold a hold, and forget the second one.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
You like?
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
You like your girlfriend? Correg like, yes, do you love
y like her?
Speaker 3 (01:16:23):
Well?
Speaker 9 (01:16:24):
You know you're tell him that so you get what
you want. My god, come on, now, you're such a fraud.
Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Do you like?
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
Let me ask you this. Do you like the Do
you like the daughter or no? Not particularly? No, No,
she talks like Mickey Minnie Mouse for some reason. She
has a professional job, and she does I'm sure talk
like an adult. But yeah, anyways, neither.
Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
Moving on.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
By the way, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna have
a gut feeling about your relationship with her at all. Yeah, okay,
thanks so much, Ross, of course, I'm I'm your self annoyed.
Oh no, favorite listener.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
See this is these are my people.
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
This is great.
Speaker 10 (01:17:10):
Yes, yes, But secondly, I've got feeling, although I think
you already did her earlier in the year, that you're
the B O I B I O N.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Topic is going to be Lennie Anderson. She just passed away,
you know, but maybe not so that's got feeling. Uh
Lannie Anderson, w k A P. You don't know who
Lennie Anderson is.
Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Oh my god, is a plunk guard for the Warriors
of the nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
And Okay, then also we've got feeling that the Sanchez
has already went to the jose To b school of
base running.
Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
You know, ran into third.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
He misread a couple of fly balls yesterday to yeah,
thank you, Kevin. He's been misreading fly balls, throwing things
to the wrong bass and had a bad base running
gap so far has Sanchez And it's been like four
he's been I would say overall, because they you do
(01:18:07):
have to give him credit for the hits.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
He's get hits.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
He's had an average start to his astro's career.
Speaker 1 (01:18:13):
But yeah, the running and the on the on the
overthrow the first base trying to get the ext rondy
feet against Boston was I was like, oh no, he's
a deer in headlights. Yeah, and then twice yesterday he
let up. He went came in on a ball that
went over his head, and then he did it again
and he caught the second catch the second one. Yeah, uh,
(01:18:35):
I'll say it. He's the Sanchez still a plus edition.
That's not feel that's just an opinion. That's yeah. Let's
go to Grayson at eleven fifty five. Grayson, what's in
your gut this week? All Right?
Speaker 10 (01:18:49):
Eric Gattings can go five innings, he's gonna give up
four walks, he's gonna get three k's, and he's gonna
get three armed runs tomorrow. And Walkers can go three
for four a home run, two seagulls and is going
to strike out.
Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Okay, that's very, very detailed. If you're right out, yeah,
all right, Okay, Well, you get a call next week
and either brag or apologize you were ready to do that.
Speaker 10 (01:19:15):
I will definitely either bragg or apologize, but I'm pretty
much gonna be bragging.
Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
So okay, that's good. I like your confidence. Thank you
Grayson for the phone call. Appreciate you listening. Wrapping it
up James on seven of eight, James, what's in your
gut this week? Gas are going to start winning at
home again.
Speaker 5 (01:19:31):
They're gonna be a home field advantage team again. You're
gonna have a winning record on the next.
Speaker 1 (01:19:35):
Homestand okay, let me look and see how they're what
they're doing next. Let me see what the next homestand
looks like. Here it's Boston and then oh I had
I had an Astros calendar somewhere Baltimore, Right, Boston, Baltimore.
They should win those games. Yeah, I mean that's but
I mean I don't want to be four and three
in a whole Here we go, uh into see July.
(01:19:59):
They've got our three with the Red Sox, three of
the Orioles. They gotta go four and two, right, don't
you think sure?
Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
I don't want to go three win series, must win
homestand it's not a must win.
Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
Nobody said that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
Okay, I've been making stuff up, sass.
Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
You and this.
Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
You know you're very much you're very much a must
win person. I don't get it why that is?
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
What was the one you had? Was it the Rangers
on a Friday? Yeah? Was Lance mccollors on the mound?
Because I remember because of that they got to Houston
soul see who are tracking their track their flight mid
the night, and then they kicked the ash, I mean
kick their ass. So I never want to hear another
sports team complain about their travel accommodations. All right, that's
it forgot feelings. The news that Noon is coming back?
Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
Oh what what song?
Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (01:20:50):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
I don't want to know. You and Ross discuss what song?
Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Because I want I we use bad Boy to open
the show today, and Ross didn't like it. Because I
want to be happy. We're gonna find another Miami Sound
Machine song or something with Miami to honor the Astros
win in South Florida. That's right. The news dude is
next boy, Jonathan, your thoughts about my thoughts about this song?
(01:21:18):
I think you hate it. I don't hate it actually
at all. You turn it up.
Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
This is a good white person dancing song.
Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
It is it's it's fine. You see me as a
white man dancing on the floor of this song. You're
hurting yourself stroking out. What I do in my own
personal time is my own time. I can see Matt
break dancing. No wait, this is kind of a jam.
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
This is not bad.
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
I'm very pleasantly surprised. I was still want to want
to hear my song bad Boy by Miami Sound Machine.
But this is not bad. This is way better than
that sound Machine Machine song. This isn't I'm rossy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:01):
This is good.
Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
It's very Miami, very very happy with you. Why do
you know that I've been to Miami what nine years
in a row? Now, nine years in a row for what?
For the rockets heat?
Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Okay, how many times you've been to the beach?
Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
Zero?
Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
There's beaches in Galveston. Ross, I'm fine, don't do dalous
like that. Ross, seriously, don't listen to him. But the
thing is now, I've been incredible food in Miami. I've
also been to at least sixty of the restaurant They
don't speak an award of English. I'm gonna tell you
(01:22:44):
the scenery in Miami Beach good, Galveston Beach stop just
stop stop right now. I'm just saying, and I'm totally
done with the beach and I'm not going to work
on a beach. Sorry, it's not gonna happen. Don't have
to go lurk. Why don't you go relax?
Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
I need you to.
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Okay, we'll go to the pool. I need you on
relax time.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
Matt.
Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
I'm not gonna how do you get nine free trips
to Miami Beach and you go zero times to the beach.
You're very special because I stay in a ridiculously nice
hotel and a beautiful part of Miami. That's got a
lot of great people watching great food, Cuban food, which
I do like a lot. I think you should take
better advantage of these, uh, these opportunities afforded two by
(01:23:29):
the wonderful Rockets organizations. I'm sorry, I'm working for our
radio shows with you. I don't get that kind of time.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23:34):
And then what in the morning you can catch the
sunrise at the beach?
Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
Please?
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
Sunrises all over the place, Galus and I love you.
Twelve oh seven time down for the news ad noon
is the Don Johnson of Sports Media News. Hey, Sports,
all my sleeves up here. Yes, Matt, you just heard
the highlight. Astros in the midst of a three game
(01:24:02):
series against the Miami Marlins, Jason Alexander six innings of shutout,
ball out dueling a seventy al Gantra, who had two
great starts in a row, combining for twelve innings pitch
and no runs given up. Well, he gave up six
earned runs against the Astros in seven innings. They able
(01:24:25):
to get eight runs on eleven hits. They were six
for twelve with runners in scoring position. Let's go and
they get the comfortable victory despite a couple of solo
shots given up by Brian King, Hector Narris closing the
game out. Astros go for a win. We'll talk to
Astros manager a series win, I should say they go.
(01:24:48):
We'll talk to Astros manager Joe Spot coming up at
twelve thirty. Who will be the opener? I don't expect
him to announce it because he wants to kind of
keep that thing that close to the vest. But should
be an opener tonight and Spencer earra get it making
his not twenty twenty five debut, but his return tomorrow,
(01:25:08):
three forty first pitch. So the A team work two
to three ten tomorrow. Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't ask
us to do it. Oh, that's not happening. I was
working five hours on air and then working zero.
Speaker 6 (01:25:22):
No, I know.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
I'm just saying I'm surprised they didn't ask.
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
Sure, I'm sure it crossed their mind for shout and
all the tenth Ning show on WEX hung out for
an hour yesterday. So yes, SUREX is fine. Uh, you
have the tenthen Ning show tonight and I'll have it tomorrow. Yes,
and I had it yesterday. Okay, that's good.
Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
What else you got uh, let's see what else, Matt.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
How about your Houston Texans continuing to practice at Lagomra
in the West Virginia. First real fight of the camp,
according to Jonathan m Alexander, covering the Texans for the
Houston Chronicle, Dalton Schultz versus Rust Yeast. Schultz was not
happy that Yeast hit him while he was going down.
(01:26:00):
Schultz ran up to tackle Russ Yeast and they went
at it before everyone separated them. So they separated. Yes,
I I literally when the show began at ten o'clock,
had no idea who Russ Yeast was. Well, he's on
the ninety man or whatever, how many men they have left.
(01:26:22):
Are we gonna follow him for the rest of his
NFL career? No, I don't think so.
Speaker 5 (01:26:27):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
Also in practice, Kamari Lassiter getting a little handsy with
Xavier Hutchinson and then CJ. Excuse me up Kate Stover
driven into the ground by c. J. Gardner Johnson. Stover
taking exception. There was some pushing words were exchanged, but
the two players separate. Oh, I forgot to give you
(01:26:49):
what a gut feeling? Okay, do not go by c J.
Gardner Johnson Jerseys. He's on one and done here, Okay, alright,
it down? Yeah, I mean, how many more years he's
under contract? One? But he's he's been with four different teams,
I think his NFL career. Okay, okay, anything else? Uh yes,
(01:27:13):
Matt Okay, the holdout for Kien Williams is over. He
signed a three year, thirty three million dollar deal. Who
for the holdout for whom? Kien Williams? Okay, Rams running back? Yeah,
that's three years. It's all I got was three thirty
three year, three year, thirty three million dollar extension. We'll
(01:27:34):
talk about it more in depth. Mac coming up with
the NFL rewe I don't think, don't want to go
in depth.
Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
One.
Speaker 1 (01:27:39):
Oh, we're gonna break down the guarantees. Oh, bonuses, signing bonus,
foster bonus. Okay, that sounds fun. Can't wait one we
Why did you got a little Mac Brown on us?
Can't wait to break down the Rams running back situation.
Matthew Stafford's shoulder is hurting me and the Texans are
gonna win the game three to zero on game one
(01:27:59):
week and that's your news in noon. Okay, thank you
very much. It's pretty lean. I'm gonna be honest, there's
a lot of NFL stuff that I'm saving it for,
saving it for next hour. We've got an offensive line
to x Texans offensive one. So I want to talk
about when we come back from the break, but I
want to talk to Charles and Victoria before we do that.
At twelve twelve on seven. Hi Charles, Hey Matt, Hi,
(01:28:23):
what's up?
Speaker 6 (01:28:25):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:28:26):
So?
Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
I have four gut feelings for this week, and yeah,
they're really quick though, but I got arag Getty going
about five innings, seventy five pitches, probably going to be
his max.
Speaker 1 (01:28:37):
What they let them go get about six ks.
Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
I got a I have.
Speaker 6 (01:28:46):
The Astros winning voter series this week, both against the
Marlins and the Yankees, and then I have only two
ale West who's going to the playoffs. There'll be the
Astros and the Mariners. And for the playoffs, which I'll
have Astros winning the division as well. I've got a
funny feeling that the playoffs will be in the wild
(01:29:10):
card Seattle and Boston in a series for some reason,
you know, well not for some reason, but we'll probably
end up facing I think probably Boston is we'll have
a red hot Alex Bregman coming back to they can park,
come playoff tide.
Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
So that will be fun, Charles once right, all that down.
Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
So if you get any of that right, call us
back when we get closer to the end of the
season and brag about it, all right, because that's a
lot of work you just gave us. You give us
a lot of stuff. All right, Well you guys have
a good one. Thank you, Charles, appreciate it. All right?
Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (01:29:47):
You know, uh, there's six teams that can win the
American League. Do you understand how crazy this is it
going to be this year? This is gonna be the
wildest playoffs that you and I have ever had as
a show to Oh, okay, how do you think I
don't know if there'd be the one?
Speaker 5 (01:30:00):
Be fun.
Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
We'll see Houston, Good, Seattle, Toronto, Yes, Yankees, have they
ever get their act together? Red Sox Tigers, Red Sox Tigers. Six?
Right there, there'll be six teams in the playoffs, right,
m hm, gotta get the first or second seed.
Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
I got to but know, I think it'd be I
think it's very crucial. Actually, be nice, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
A Texans offensive lineman former Texans offensive line coach carrying
the water for a former Texas offensive line men. Details
on that in a moment seven seven hunting Joe a
spot at bottom of the hour, all right, twelve to
twenty Sports Talk seven Hunty. Not that we need to
get into a deep dive on this, but I was.
(01:30:46):
I think it was worth anecdotal to bring it up
at least.
Speaker 6 (01:30:49):
Uh So.
Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
Texans U seven offensive line coach named Chris Strausser and
he got let go. And I don't know if he's
just trying to be Brosky's with Laramie Tunsel or not,
but he was quoted in a story from the Washington
Post about the problems that Laramie Tunsel had here in Houston.
(01:31:12):
Now I'm not I told you so, guy, but I
never bought into the Laramie Tunsel as a past protector, absolutely,
as a run start protector, not really, and as a
man who committed lots of penalties. I was absolutely all
in on that because I thought the hype and the
money and the faux leadership that was given us by
(01:31:36):
the team was just that it was.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
I didn't buy it.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Now doesn't mean I have a great character assessment about
everybody in life, but this one I could see from
a mile away. So the Texans said, look, last year's
room was toxic and they needed to make change. So
this coach, Strausser says the following, I don't think our
room was good last year. It was a combination of
(01:32:01):
a lot of things. By no means Laramie being the
issue or the main issue. It was a combination of
so many things, a lot of guys trying to figure
out an offense, and honestly, we were not that well educated.
In another slam towards the Bobby Slowick, we did have
different personalities in a room. Our chemistry was not just right.
But it was not in all Laramie's fault that our
(01:32:22):
chemistry was not right. It really wasn't. I've always told
you I don't like guys that miss OTAs. I don't
like guys that miss the workouts, that only show up
when they have to. And that was what Laramie Tunsel
was for ninety five percent of his Houston Texans career.
Larmie Tunsel was a me guy more than a team guy.
(01:32:45):
Doesn't mean he didn't perform well, doesn't mean that he
didn't have the backup the quarterback and didn't on his
offensive line. But Ross, the very simple question that we
talked about the day he was traded was the following,
You had the worst offensive line in the NFL, and
you got rid of your best offensive lineman. As an
old Bross would say to me, walk me through that. So,
(01:33:06):
for the very last time before we move on to
other things, walk me through what you would think of
a team that had a very poor offensive line with
a franchise quarterback getting rid of their best lineman. It's
because he was not a good leader. His penalties and
his run blocking were a main issue, and it wasn't
good in his past. Protection and his salary were not
(01:33:27):
good enough. His lack of leadership. This Fox Captain bs
they were giving us was all full of bunk. Reality
was Laramie was up for Laramie and nobody else, at
least as I see it or saw it. Yeah, you
can certainly have that opinion. I will say, I guess
I don't necessarily know enough, but the reports that I mean,
(01:33:50):
you can read the tea leaves. Like you said, Tamiko
Ryans wants guys and has said publicly he wants guys
that are team first and they want to get rid
of guys who aren't. And he said that in tandem
with the news that Laramie Tunsell was let go, and
you talk about all the penalties that he racked up.
My theory is is that he was doing that because
(01:34:13):
he wants to keep his pressure rates down and he
would always make sure that he was off right at
the snap count. And there were times where he could
have been called for more false starts than he was
than he was And Strausser in these comments talks about it,
oh being the cadence and Bob Bla like he had
been working with ces Shroud for two years and he
had these problems under multiple quarterbacks. And I do think
it was because Laramie Tunzell was just trying to keep
(01:34:34):
his pressure rates down and you didn't really care if
it cost him five yards. He would rather take a
penalty than give up a pressure and that's not caring
about the team. And now he's gone, and this guy
who was his offensive line coach, it makes a lot
of sense that he would defend him and say I
was the problem and it wasn't Laramie Tunssell, because coaches
(01:34:55):
protect their players. Now, this is kind of definitely above
and beyond going into this Washington Post article, but clearly
he was not a fit.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
He was a pro bowler.
Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
They desperately needed a left tackle, and they said, we're good.
We're gonna go with Cam Robinson. Not exactly at the
scrap yard, but at least at the used car lot
with at least one hundred thousand miles on the tread.
And they're going with him over a pro bowler. That
tells you everything you need to know about how the
(01:35:28):
Texans regime felt about Laramie Tons. Laramie quoted after seeing
the rumors that the Texans offensive line room was a
hot mess, I think it was rumors that it was
pretty much based. In fact, it did make me feel
a way because our room wasn't like that. Did we
play well?
Speaker 3 (01:35:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Did c J. Stroud get sacked a lot? Yes, I
see where the rumors could be made up and come from.
But I feel like we had a great ass room. No,
you didn't have a great ass Demiko, Ryan's basically traded
you because the room sucked? Was that Strausser or Laramie said?
That was Laramie saying that? Okay, So I think so basically,
Chris Strosser is he he's employed by anybody at this point.
(01:36:05):
I don't know. I don't know either, But point being
is that he's trying to make sure that one of
the more affluent, recognizable offensive line in the NFL. If
someone was to call and say, hey, is Chris Strasser
worthy of getting a job, Oh yeah, I mean I
like the guy. He's a good kid. Perhaps, yeah it
lizn't looks like he has an NFL job right now. Yeah,
(01:36:27):
he's been coaching in football since nineteen eighty nine. Man,
this offense better be good this year because Bobby Slowk
is like, what do you have? He's got a doll
and he's got like sticks. He wants to put on
the doll in the Houston Voodoo doll. Because c J. Stroud, everybody,
Jam Robinson, all the above, everybody's throwing him under the bus.
Speaker 2 (01:36:48):
Everybody this there is some pressure on all of the
offensive line.
Speaker 3 (01:36:54):
C J.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
Stroud, Nick Kaylee because you made these regime changes. And
Demico Ryans himself, these were his calls, he said. Bobby
Slowik one of the hot like a year, literally twelve
months ago, one of the hottest offseason names for a
possible future head coach can't all this stuff. CJ. Stroud's
on the rise. One year later, you basically clean house.
(01:37:18):
You clean house on the offensive line, You clean house
with the offensive line coach and your offensive coordinator. H
And if this doesn't work out, and this happens to coaches,
you get kind of a get out of jail free card.
You're a defensive guy, and you fire a bunch of assistants,
then it's gonna start.
Speaker 2 (01:37:35):
The fingers gonna start pointing at you.
Speaker 1 (01:37:38):
Oh, I think, yeah, this offense struggles this year, there's
gonna be Casario heat and maybe Demico heat for the
very first time. And again am I talking about ten
and seven win the NCY South. That doesn't do jack
for anybody. It's gotta be a deeper playoff run. The
manager of the Astros, Joe Spotted joins us next here
on Sports Talk seven to ninety. Let's spend twelve calling
a minute. So the manager of your Houston Astros win
(01:37:59):
last night over the Miami Marlins. Joe A spotted with
us here on the show Skip. I was talking to
Ross a minute ago, and he got mad at me
because I've called Rockets games in Miami for in the
last nine years. I've never gone to the beach. Have
you gone to the beach in a trip to Miami lately? Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:38:14):
Or no?
Speaker 1 (01:38:15):
Tell the truth? No, thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
That's all I needed to hear. Oh, he's busier than you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (01:38:21):
No, that's ridiculous. I think the manager of the team's
busier than you. Matt, that's dumb. Tell sorry, we're fighting
skip Sandia. Al Kata was about to throw a no
no until things got crazy. What happened, And by the way,
thank you for that, because it became a different ballgame
after that first go around through your lineup.
Speaker 4 (01:38:41):
Yeah, I think we made uh, we made some adjustments.
You know, someone like I'll contract. You know, you have
to make a uh you know, you really got to
get him away from you if you if you, you know,
beat he sinker on the ground, it's going to be
quick a batch. It's just going to get grum balls.
I think the guy's made a good adjustment trying to
see stuff out over the plate, and then that's when
(01:39:02):
you start seeing you know, penna double. You start seeing
some balls now being hit in the air. We drive
in the ball and that's when that's when we were
able to capitalize.
Speaker 1 (01:39:13):
You have been able to win games this year with
a variety of different lineups and having this squad now
and look you hopefully we'll have even more guys coming
back in the not too distant future. But it feels
like you've been given some more things to go to
the toolbox in terms of different lineups and whatnot. What
is it like having Carlos back, What is it like
(01:39:33):
being able to pencil in Korea?
Speaker 2 (01:39:35):
And then you've got Haesus Sanchez.
Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
I mean, there have been some nice auditions here that
kind of deepened your lineup a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
Now, yeah, yeah, he does.
Speaker 4 (01:39:43):
You know you mentioned Carlos. You know, he's someone who's
just going to give you a quality of bats after
quality of bats. He can walk, you know, he can
drive the ball. We've been seeing how hardy sitting the ball.
And also he's sharing his knowledge and helping helping some
of our young players prepare ourselves for for this August
September dog days of you know, playing meaningful games. So
(01:40:06):
Carlos has been able to do that. Then it's been
a great addition to can realize give us a good,
you know, good back from the left side, can really
drive the ball. I feel like he sees a ton
of pitches and we able to you know, have guys
like Ria's on the benchick and allow me to be
flexible and pinchhit and take shots when I need to,
(01:40:28):
and and and having him and Dubon that.
Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
Can cover a pretty bitch to play.
Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
Everywhere on the field has been a nice It's been
a nice edition.
Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
Joe. You've given some cam a little bit of time off.
Obviously the struggles have been probably for a couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:40:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Is it a byproduct of maybe there's intelligence on him now,
or is it this is a young man that has
played a whole lot of baseball games in the last
twelve calendar months, that this is kind of what guys
go through when they start to hit that one hundred
and twenty games over a certain stretch of time.
Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
Yes, and this is part of this is part of
you know, a young player learning the league, learning himself.
Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
You know, I I've been giving him more off days.
Speaker 5 (01:41:10):
My plan is just to be.
Speaker 4 (01:41:11):
More more proactive with him, giving him some blows here
and there.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
He's a bats I've gotten better.
Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
The last couple of games, so you know, it's been
it's just helping him through this process. He's you know,
let's not forget he's a plus defender and right he
can give you some really good at bats and we're
just trying to find him where he is comfortable again
getting good pitches to hit, swinging at good pitches to hit.
(01:41:40):
And but I think we got to be We've got
to be cautious and smart of how often we throw
him out there. And I think a blow he in
there will help him get back on his speed and
understand how long the season is.
Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
What is that like for you dealing with a personality
like camp Smith and you've had it with Bregman and others.
I mean, there's a lot of guys on this team
throughout the years love baseball, want to be there out
there every day to kind of just have that conversation
with them and let them know like it's more about
the long term and the marathon rather than the sprint.
Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
Yeah, and you and daily you know, he he knows,
like in cancer, he knows that this is a very
long year and we have a lot still a lot
of baseball left and not because you're not starting the
game doesn't mean that you're playing that day. You know,
he steals, he still stays ready, and I need to
(01:42:36):
get blows to some of the next you know, the
next couple of weeks. Some of these guys need some rest.
So it's about being smart and and trying to find
time just to get these guys off their feet so
we could be in a good in a good position
and make a push here in August.
Speaker 1 (01:42:51):
In September, Joe spot us here on Sports Talk seven nine,
you mentioned the leadership of Carlos Korea.
Speaker 2 (01:42:57):
Can you expand on that a little bit? Like what
what does he bring?
Speaker 1 (01:43:01):
We've seen him already getting in mound visits as far
as on a pregame planning or just going through everything.
Can you just tell us more about that.
Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
Yeah, he's involved.
Speaker 4 (01:43:11):
He's involved in everything, you know, our prep work, our
our pregame meetings.
Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
You know, I know we've probably noticed.
Speaker 4 (01:43:19):
This, but every time there's a there's a there's a visit,
amount visit, Carlos is the.
Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
First one there. You know. He he's smart, he sees
what's going on.
Speaker 4 (01:43:30):
During our hitters meeting, he pretty much leads the conversation
and it feels like he has never left our clubhouse.
Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:43:39):
I share a lot of you know, ideas through him
how the next couple of weeks, shoot, uh, some of
my thoughts and you know, he's got some really good feedback,
and you know.
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
He's presence. It's it's it's uncomparable.
Speaker 4 (01:43:55):
How you know what he brings to the table is
it's incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:43:59):
I've never seen anything like it.
Speaker 1 (01:44:01):
Joe, If you need to give Jeremy a day off
here and there, because whether it's just making sure that
he doesn't overtax himself or the cramp that he had
in the land over Boston, do you envision Korea being
your shortstop on days that you don't start Jeremy or
is that kind of still up in the air at
this point.
Speaker 4 (01:44:17):
Yeah, No, I think I think Carlos it's obviously you know,
he's planning flow a winner in a short and so
you know, if Jeremy meets those those few off days
in the next uh you know, fifty fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:44:33):
Games, Uh, you know, Carlos is more capable of doing that.
So my plan is it's by it's just to.
Speaker 1 (01:44:39):
Do that for the time being.
Speaker 6 (01:44:41):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:44:41):
I go to my ESPN app skip and I see
that Undecided is making today start. Tell me about him.
I don't know much about undecided.
Speaker 4 (01:44:49):
Yeah, you still on the side. You will find out here.
You'll find out here pretty soon. It's going to be
one of our left endor relievers.
Speaker 1 (01:44:56):
Oh now you're the guessing game after you leave us,
I like kind of like that, take us through that
because I, you know, I agent. I would talk quite
a bit about this about using the opener. Is there
a lot of maneuvering once the game goes on, or
is it a pretty well set I think I can
get this guy to get me six outs, it's got
(01:45:16):
to get me three and six. Or do you have
to kind of watch and see how the game goes
before deciding, you know, how your rotation goes in terms
of who's going to go next.
Speaker 11 (01:45:24):
Yeah, you know, you try to.
Speaker 4 (01:45:26):
You map it out and you put like two different
scenarios right the opener. You know, let's just say you
wanted to give a four or five outs or would
be great if it gives you if it gives you
six outs, and.
Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
Then but e there is traffic.
Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
Who's going to be that first guy up, you know,
out of your bullpen? So you met that out and
then also once you get to once to the lineup,
who's going to give you the you know the bulk
and and how many pitches that person is going to
give you most of the bulk, you know how many
pitches you wanted to get you and and then you
(01:46:04):
know your the hope is so when you get to
the fifth and sixth, you can you know, you have
to lead and you can deploy your.
Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
Back end on the bullpen. So there is some there's some.
Speaker 4 (01:46:15):
Planning that goes into it. You you know, you want
your offense just to give you some early runs. So
so the uh, the the execution of the game plan
will be a little bit more, much much easier. But
you know, visit the team UH in the mornings that
they have some really good left enter hitters, and they
have some guys on the bench that they're you know
(01:46:35):
their they're deployment early in.
Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
The game if they have to.
Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
So you know, we're just going to try to be
ready and put our relievers in the best position for
them to to succeed.
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Wait, did not speak to you since the trade deadline
is coming past, and I think you guys were off
that Thursday, So let me, uh, let's go through what
your final two hours were like. You get Korea, you
have your eas you get Sanchez. I know there were
some other deals that were pondered and discussed. How how
was your last afternoon before the deadline came before? Because
(01:47:07):
I'm curious what the manager's role was during all this peak.
Beyond beyond that, I'm just on the phone and talking
to Dana.
Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
No, yeah, I'm constantly you know, text messages not only
with Dana but someone of his front office personnel, trying
to figure out if we acquired this player, how would
it how would it fit in our roster? So the constant,
constant text message, I try to take those those last
two or three hours, I went to the movies with
my girls that were in Boston, and you know, I
(01:47:34):
missed the last forty five minutes off the movie because
that's when we think got really heated and we're really
close acquiring Carlos and Sanchez. So you know, I had
to leave the move the theater so you can get
you know, uh, these conversations uh with Dana and his
staff and but he's he's it's fun.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
You want to be in that.
Speaker 4 (01:47:58):
Position where you actually acquiring players, not saying not saying
good bye to family members, and we acquire some really
good players, and I'm excited about it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:09):
I have to ask what movie was it?
Speaker 4 (01:48:14):
It was bad. The name was Bad Guys is a
kind of a cartoon movie, and we were we were
watching it.
Speaker 3 (01:48:21):
It's Bad Guys too. I believe it's the name it was.
It was fun.
Speaker 4 (01:48:26):
We were looking forward to potentially just you know, spend
those two hours there, you know, just watching a movie
and eating popcorn and hanging out. But man, the last
thirty forty five minutes for me, I had to I
had to leave the room skip.
Speaker 2 (01:48:40):
I don't know how you did it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:41):
Honestly, I applaud you as a husband and as a
father because I guarantee you if I'm in your spot,
I'm like, kids, go see whatever you want. How About
here's the credit cardial the popcorn you can possibly handle.
I may have a completely different roster in about two
and a half three hours of play.
Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
Yeah, you know, I it's important for me to be
be pressed and with with my with my family. I
you know, I need that piece that that peace of mind,
being able to get away from the game and try
to do the best I can just to be there
for them, for my wife, and I know it's it's
(01:49:16):
a big moment, you know, during the season, but uh,
you know, it's important for us to be present with
our kids and they, you know, for them to see
that even during these the very important times doing our job,
that we have time for them, because at the end
of the day, that's my biggest responsibility is taking care
of my kids and and my wife.
Speaker 1 (01:49:36):
Two last questions, and we applaud you for that, uh
that mentality. Uh to this opener situation, do you envision
us being a one time thing? Could you see yourself
doing this for a couple of weeks. I mean, you've
got some reinforcements coming, but let's frankly be honest, they're
probably gonna be on a pitch count here for at
least a while, and.
Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
That could ultimately mean that guys maybe just skip a start.
Speaker 4 (01:49:57):
Yeah, you know, we are. This is you know, day
by day, be honest with you.
Speaker 5 (01:50:02):
We are.
Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
We see how today goes. We have Spencer coming back tomorrow.
You know he's he's going to be somewhat on a
pitch town. You know, he can take us eighty pitches
or plus, but you just should never know, right, So
we are taking one day at a time. We're being
very conscious who can we pitch who can give us
(01:50:24):
multi winnings, who can pitch back to back games. So
it's uh, it's all hands on deck.
Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
But right now, it's just one day at a time
and see what.
Speaker 4 (01:50:33):
Let's be focusing right now on winning today's game.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
You also sent two players back to the minor leagues
in Melton and Matthews. Any messages in particular for those
two gentlemen, Yeah, you know what.
Speaker 4 (01:50:43):
For me, it's more you know they need.
Speaker 3 (01:50:46):
First of all, I they did a tremendous shot.
Speaker 4 (01:50:48):
You know, bright Matthews pretty much won us a series
in Arizona.
Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
Melton.
Speaker 4 (01:50:52):
You know, he provides coverage you all through out fields.
He's super athletic, his defenses plus that's one that you
know for them right now, it's going back down to
Triple A and and playing every day.
Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
They I want these young players to play every day.
Speaker 4 (01:51:07):
They're part of our future and it's important for them
just to go and play and stay ready because right
you know, you never know what could happen here in
the next couple of weeks, and injury can occur, and
then you know, I want him to be ready.
Speaker 3 (01:51:21):
I want him to be getting every day at bets.
Speaker 1 (01:51:23):
Thank you for the visitors always enjoy South Florida, enjoy
New York. And we'll talk in next week and thank
you for the opportunity.
Speaker 3 (01:51:29):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Good Joe spotted with us here on Sports Talk seven only.
So Ross, you want to play guest the reliever? This
is gonna start today. Let's go with Susan Dang you
want okre sure?
Speaker 3 (01:51:43):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (01:51:43):
Let's go with ok play lunch. Let's go with that.
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:51:48):
Just get out right, yeah, I mean yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:51:51):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think it's gonna be Josh Hayter.
You know we did say lefty. Okay, you know what
I'll tell the field you take, you take, Josh it
all right.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
I need to have about one hundred and one odds.
Speaker 1 (01:52:04):
Yeah, I give you to put my one penny against
your hundred dollars. I'm all for that. Twelve forty six
of Sports Talk seven on eight. It's a Matt Thomas show.
Ross seven one three two one two five seven eight.
Ross has got the NFL re wanted one twenty and
we have Jason Alexander one thirty, Lonnie Anderson believe it
or not, one fifty. Who'm gonna help you?
Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
That's the former draft pick of the Houston Texans.
Speaker 1 (01:52:31):
And Jennifer Marlowe on the WKRP in Cincinnati, a classic
television show. Okay, emulating a radio station in the Natty.
Why do we do? Jason Alexander's how many are there?
I'll get your buy? Fine, we'll do. What's your name?
Lonnie Johnson?
Speaker 2 (01:52:49):
Lonnie Anderson?
Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
Okay? Seven one three, two, one two five seven, Datti
twelve fifty two, Matt and Ross with you here? With
the NFL re wind coming up at one twenty. I
am getting kind of ready for the season. I will
be honest with you. I did not watch but maybe
five plays of the Hall of Fame game. It doesn't
(01:53:12):
do much for r I saw it in the background,
and Will Disley got a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:53:18):
I saw that.
Speaker 1 (01:53:19):
Couldn't tell you who's I know that the Lion kicked
the Chargers ass. But other than that, what the hell
is Will Disley doing in that game? Is any kind
of a regular for them?
Speaker 4 (01:53:25):
Or No?
Speaker 1 (01:53:26):
The Chargers kicked the Lion's ass and it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:53:30):
Are you even?
Speaker 1 (01:53:31):
You're a Charger guy?
Speaker 5 (01:53:32):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
Here we go, Chargers go?
Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
Wait? First of all, how can you be a Chargers fan,
is there like somebody that you know on the team
or go yeah yeah and lives right outside of the.
Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
MM Go ahead, Maddie, go ahead, gate keeper of fandom.
Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
For the no no, no, no, no, no no no.
I first of all, one of my best friends is
a super big Charger fan. Second of all, I love
their uniforms, and three I like I like Justin Herbert
all the way and now go charge us. Go either
that or you grow up a Cowboys fan about how
minute ago. By the way, can you sing their fight song? No,
(01:54:15):
you don't songs. You don't sing the San Diego Chargers
fight song.
Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
You don't sing that song.
Speaker 1 (01:54:21):
Fire good fire. He's gonna have to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
Okay, just put San Diego Superchargers song. Play this song.
Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
I want you to out Houston and jam if this
is how much better or worse is this in football
time in Houston when you find you find to just
start playing way better. I don't want the don't want
the ad to get on there. You probably wait it's
the right one.
Speaker 5 (01:54:49):
Yeah, this is.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
This is they played us in the clubs back in
the day. How much longer A long? Follow me on
Twitter at sports on Instagram, turn Yes, Crank thish, Yeah, this.
Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
Is the jam, the deil of days.
Speaker 1 (01:55:22):
I go away, We're going this is seriously, this is
so much better than the Texans fight song. I can't
even tell you, not even close. It's like a member
of a cooler gang saying this that's it in that vein.
Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
This could be somebody by Earth Wind and Fire.
Speaker 1 (01:55:44):
Okay, well the voice still, I'll see what mad coming
from though fire up here we go, chop Job, you
should never lost, all right, I think I figured out
thank you for that about the way.
Speaker 2 (01:56:02):
It was done by Captain Q boy B and the
Big Boys Top forty.
Speaker 1 (01:56:06):
On a case of case, if the Texans really get
a really good fight song, I will join you battle
Red Ross. Yeah, you said if they make a super
Bowl you'll join me. That's not gonna happen at least
this year, won't.
Speaker 5 (01:56:19):
Could.
Speaker 1 (01:56:20):
No, No, you can't have You can't have a bottom
three offensive line in the NFL makes super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
You just can't.
Speaker 1 (01:56:27):
They're gonna rise above Ariante. They're gonna rise above the
YaST is what you're trying to say. Yes, they're gonna
be better than bottom three. You have my personal guarantee.
So two ways the Texans. I become a fan of
the Texans. Okay, one that go to Super Bowl, and
two they get a new fight song that actually we like. Well,
(01:56:49):
you don't have a sports team or not a football team.
Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
I do not.
Speaker 2 (01:56:52):
Oh, okay, I have the Oilers and they left me.
Yeah they're dead.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
Move on.
Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
Uh you know what.
Speaker 1 (01:56:59):
There are some people that lose their great love of
their life and they don't move on. Well, guess what,
matt Sometimes you've got to move on for a number
of reasons. First of all, they moved somewhere else. Yeah,
and they've moved on from you. That's true. They certainly didn't.
And even when y'all were together, all they did was
(01:57:21):
disappoint you. Yeah, it was better to have loved and
lost and to never have loved at all. I mean,
this is Stockholm syndrome. At this point, all the Oilers
did was lose, lose, and disappoint and lose. Move on,
Mattie to the Texans, because all they do is win, win, win,
and win. Well, Jonathan, I at least they're here. I've
(01:57:42):
explained this to the audience because I don't have an
emotional attachment to the Texans. I don't have that frustration
of losing if they're.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
Divorced from the outcomes, and that can be refreshed. I
don't with it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:57):
I don't have any emotional attachment. So if they win
or lose, it doesn't do anything for me. Now, what
it does for me is if they win. The people
that I'm surrounded by, which is a great audience, you
that alread let's go, and people that I have friendships with.
They love the Texans, so I'm happy for them. But
(01:58:18):
when they lose, I don't. I don't sit there and
have a pep rally over it. I just go, Okay,
what's the good what's a good three twenty five game?
Speaker 4 (01:58:25):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:58:27):
It's fun because I got news for you, your Texans,
heter Matt. That's far from the truth. What I don't
have is like the Rockets have let me down, the
Astros have let me down. The Cougars, certainly last year,
let me down. That's enough from you.
Speaker 2 (01:58:46):
I got enough. I got enough of disappointment. I'm content.
Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
So if they want to go to the super Bowl,
I will be the number one bandwagon. Jump on fan.
You start calling me Maddie the Texan. I like to
I Liberty White, Matt, Liberty White, Matt, don't talk about
my legs that way either. Hey, you don't lose it.
We're gonna be a tire brewing on front. Okay, you
know that? What a four Sports Talk seven AUTI The
(01:59:14):
things I hear during this brief timeouts on our show
are amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:59:19):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
I've got a bad habit, folks.
Speaker 1 (01:59:21):
I intentionally lobb grenades at Matt right before he's about
to turn his microphone on. It's like a little game
while I play, and unfortunately he has no choice.
Speaker 6 (01:59:33):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
I've said this before, We've said it for about ten
years now. The off air podcast of our show would
get us much higher ratings than the current on air
pro We'd be canceled in seconds. That's probably true. The
things that were said and done, character assassination. It's not great,
not great at all. All right one O five Sports
(01:59:54):
Talk seven and eighty it's your is our hour here?
What does that mean? That means you guys get to
call in? We've had Joe a spot of a four
we had we brought up a little bit on the
Texans training camp front Astros with a win yesterday and
beat the tar of the Marlins after eight to two
beat down What's up? Fives? I was in a car
(02:00:15):
driving back from the hospital and.
Speaker 2 (02:00:17):
Man, boom boom boom, boom, boom boom.
Speaker 1 (02:00:18):
Boom, head after hit after hit after hit, passing the baton.
It was a beautiful thing. You have a lineup with
a lot of length, not necessarily anybody. It's gonna be
dropping thirty five forty bombs til Jordon comes back. But
you have a lineup of some guys that can can
get wallop some hits and do it all in a row.
(02:00:41):
And they were having some bad luck early on, but
thankfully they got it going there in the fourth and
then a couple of insurance runs there in the eighth
after did you see Otto Lopez completely lost his mind?
Speaker 2 (02:00:54):
Oh oh my god.
Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
Yeah, and Caroteni went underneath him to get the second back.
He could have tagged him into it in a double play.
I think it would have ended the inning.
Speaker 3 (02:01:04):
Yeah, it was not a.
Speaker 1 (02:01:05):
Brain surgeon game for either a couple of sides.
Speaker 2 (02:01:08):
So yeah, but is it weird house?
Speaker 1 (02:01:13):
Hey, Sue Sanchez was just a marl on a handful
of days ago, and now I was going against him.
It is It works baseball. Yeah, and he and l
Conto were very close. Yeah, it should have been a
double play because Christian Walker struck out. That would have
been a double play to the end of the inning.
But grounded out should have been an inning inning inning
(02:01:35):
ending at double play. I got a question, if they
got a couple of runs, are we ready to gives
his flowers?
Speaker 3 (02:01:41):
Now?
Speaker 5 (02:01:42):
Why?
Speaker 1 (02:01:42):
Ps above seven hundred? This it's been doing a lot better.
Who told you he was gonna get us? He was
going to have improved second half of the season with
some better batted ball luck. He told you he would
be a sneaky leader of home runs on the team.
Well me, basically everybody in their grandmother's got it decimated
by injuries. And he still in third place. So I
don't know. We're patting ourselves on the back for that
(02:02:05):
weekdays ten to two.
Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
That's about right.
Speaker 5 (02:02:08):
That's what it is.
Speaker 1 (02:02:10):
Look, I don't miss much. Let's go on through what
Laramie Tunsil, you're taking credit. You said he was gonna lead.
He's in third and everybody's been hurt.
Speaker 2 (02:02:19):
Yy yay third.
Speaker 1 (02:02:20):
Place, Laramie Tunsil, selfish offensive lineman check now okay? Uh
yannar Diaz sneaky home run leader candidate. There's still times
two months left ago in the season. Let's go I
don't see Joan and Alvarez out there bating the ball.
His hand is falling off. Can we go back to
yarn In for a second? Go ahead? Nothing, I know,
(02:02:41):
let's go to Let's go to y So he is,
he's in hitting progressions whatever that means. He's in the
Florida Complex League. Yeah, it's good, I guess. And last
time he went to Florida he had a major setback.
So we'll see what happens there. Okay, I'm I and
I'm asking a non doc d a doctor question. So
(02:03:02):
this is gonna be a loaded in. My doctor had
on get my stethoscope. How in the world is a
guy who hasn't played since May, who's probably well, I
don't even know. It doesn't even matter when he comes back.
How is that hand not gonna flare up again between
(02:03:23):
now and the end of the season. He's gonna play
with the pain. You're gonna heal it up as much
as he can. They're gonna give him injections every day.
He's gonna d H. He's gonna have ah it's gonna
be like a professor kwamp hand.
Speaker 2 (02:03:38):
It's gonna be all swollen up.
Speaker 1 (02:03:39):
By the way, what do you think about the hand
guy in Happy Gilmour Too? What do you mean the
guy's son? It was kind of funny. I guess it's gross.
What was gross about it? I don't know. Disfigured hands
aren't really fun to look at, especially when it comes
to my favorite outfielder, Chubbs Peterson had a messed up
hand in the first one. They're all called Matt. I know,
(02:04:00):
I know, and apparently he's an incredible golf coach. That's true.
Speaker 2 (02:04:05):
So help me out again. Is this scarily bump that
back down to a five?
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
A ten? I said it five. I'm consistent you bumped
into a six hundred view I really did. I think
he's at six and a half. Yeah, I think Matt's
at nine. Actually, I started out as a ten and
got down to a one. I think he has it
between Citizens, Citizen Kane and Godfather. On Friday Show, I'll
be reviewing The Naked Gun. Oh really, did you watch it?
Speaker 4 (02:04:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:04:32):
We're going Thursday. Okay, cool, So that's on Friday Show.
I've heard good things. It's funny because I sent to
a family text out. I said, hey, let's all's a
family go to see The Naked Gun on Friday. On Thursday. Yes,
my daughter, of course, he's the first one to opine.
All my friends said it sucked. I heard it sound funny.
(02:04:53):
I'm like rotten Tomato disagrees, and she goes, I'm still
not going. I said, Okay, keep in touch n on
the Tomato meter. That is the critics seventy six percent
for the fans. That's rare for a comedy like this.
That sounds pretty good. I mean, how can any like
some art house film where it's with critics like it
better than the fan basically sophomoric, potty, elementary humor. Yeah,
(02:05:16):
it's perfect for you. It's basically me. That's what I'm
telling you. That's why I've been telling you to watch
Walk Hard too. That's why I'm gonna love watching the
movie and give you a great review on Friday. Okay,
thank you man. And like I said, the first half
hour Happy Gilmore was amazing, and then it just petered
out and they got a patently absurd towards the are end.
But that's a different issue. It's like they ran out
of ideas. Okay, so are we gonna What would you
(02:05:38):
say if I said, Alvarez plays on a Monday, skips
a Tuesday, plays on a wedd I mean, nurse the
bad boy until all the way I could do that.
I mean, hey, that's what the playoffs are gonna be.
Song as you started a DS playing two games, getting
the day off, we just got to walk off and
manage and then after the season he'll have a hand
procedure procedure or surgery. Are those one of the same.
(02:06:02):
In a couple of years ago, we thought he was
going to have a hand procedure off the after the
year procedure surgery, same thing, tomato, potato, I mean, do
you like, do you like just open the hand up,
expose the skin, looking there and see, I don't know
where his injury is. He talked about how it's difficult
to have surgery where his injury is. I think this
is my my just gut feeling, is that surgery would
(02:06:24):
end his season. He can rehab and play through the pain.
So he's going to do that and then perhaps explore
surgery after the year. That mm hmm hmm. I really
felt terrible when we did when we did our over
runners on number of home runs for you on the
end the year you had zero, I had zero. I'm
(02:06:45):
still feeling confident it's gonna be over zero. Would you
say two and a half? You said it too two?
That that breeds confidence for sure? Absolutely? Two is pretty good.
I mean I only had to go of you. It's like,
price is right? You know what I above your bidding
one dollar? This jerk over here at bid two dollars.
(02:07:08):
You know that guy is on the price is right.
Speaker 2 (02:07:09):
We hate that guy.
Speaker 1 (02:07:10):
I love that guy.
Speaker 2 (02:07:12):
I'm sorry for bidding smart.
Speaker 1 (02:07:13):
What did you say, Jonathan? You will stay that guy
down on national TV? I'd give him a side I
for sure. All right?
Speaker 6 (02:07:22):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:07:22):
One thirteen? We got the NFL we want coming back.
Now you're gonna fill it full of entertaining stuff or
manutial with players we don't even know who or care about.
I think players most people know. Most people know Kyen
Williams is Matt the first round draft pick. I'll be
ready for that. Uh. And then, believe it or not,
is that we going Lonnie Anderson? Are we going with others?
Something else?
Speaker 4 (02:07:39):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:07:39):
God?
Speaker 1 (02:07:39):
I don't care. All right, it's gonna be. I don't care.
It's gonna be basically just good lord, it's gonna be
done in time edition of weget Jason Alexander coming up
at one thirty. Ready for that. Not just a great jam,
(02:08:02):
but it's got great content coming up. That's right, friends,
it's time for Sports RV's NFL. Whaam gigglin. I almost
laughed my own joke. What was a joke?
Speaker 2 (02:08:14):
Nothing? Time that funny?
Speaker 1 (02:08:16):
You can joke. I didn't hear a joke. I didn't
hear joke. Time now for Ross's NFL rewind Yes, Matthew. Well,
we've been talking about the Texans and the way things
have been going for them. Some people, myself included, worried
about how the offensive tackle battle will shake out. That
was highlighted by ESPN as they went throughout camp battles
(02:08:39):
throughout the NFL, mentioning, of course arianta Ursery how he's
going to mix in with Cam Robinson and Blake Fisher.
Yesterday you had Cam Robinson go down with an injury
and it had been Titus Howard at right tackle rather
than Blake Fisher. So that is something to keep an
eye on the hierarchy for the Texans. And their offensive line.
(02:09:02):
That is certainly one of the camp battles that people
are focusing and on elsewhere in the NFL. There are
a number of different things to get into speaking of
camp battles and the way things are going. A lot
of talk about Travis Hunter one of the great mysteries,
and it's been talked a lot about in the fantasy
community as well. Matt Travis Hunter a dynamic talent. But
(02:09:23):
how much cornerback and how much wide receiver will he play?
In a scrimmage recently for the Jacksonville Jaguars, he played
seventeen snaps with first team team offense and twenty one
with the first team defense. Trevor Lawrence saying he's really
excited after practice earlier today, saying, I mean, if Friday
(02:09:47):
was a glimpse of it, we should be excited to
see him running around there talking about the scrimmage on Friday.
Wherever it's an offense defense, hopefully more offense throwing that
in there for us. Do you think the Jaguars are
going to use this as a marketing tool man? This
could be a gut feeling l for me. I said,
I don't think he's gonna play the whole season both
sides at least significant snaps. But it sounds like the
(02:10:10):
Jaguars are really gonna go with this. I don't know
how marketing. If you if he pitches, if he pitches,
if he plays forty snaps, I could see double digits
on both sides. I don't think it's crab, but I
mean some players play like, you know, sixty or seventy snaps.
Depending he's saying that he's not gonna play the entire game.
It's not gonna play one hundred snaps in a game
(02:10:31):
on both sides. No, That's what I'm trying to figure out.
I think that we in sports are trying to find
nuances that make the game. Here's the thing, though, does
it really like when show Hay does what show Hay does?
We are we we are crazy about it. I don't
think NFL world's like, oh, that's fun to see a
(02:10:53):
guy play two ways. The Jaguars need to win football games.
Trevor Lawrence needs to win football games. That Jaguar franchise
has had a boatload of first round picks and a
boatload of six win seasons. You're just doubling yourself to
exposure of injury.
Speaker 2 (02:11:09):
You're gonna tire him out.
Speaker 1 (02:11:10):
I don't know. I mean everybody's talking about how he
never gets tired and he continues to do it and
he continues to impress. But I mean, I would just
I will say this. I certainly count me among the doubters.
And that's not because I don't want him to do it.
I just it would be you know, at least go
back to like the nineteen fifties or whatever you found
a full time two way player. I'll just say it
(02:11:31):
doesn't happen in the NFL. It will make me pay
attention Jaguar. That's just the bottom line on that.
Speaker 2 (02:11:36):
It'd be a cool story.
Speaker 1 (02:11:37):
I'd be wrong. I'm still staying away from him in
my fantasy dress. But that's just me. A lot of people,
there's been a lot of debates about where you would
take him. I think you add, does this stay away
for fantasy football? If he's only going to play a
handful of snauns, I'd want to take him in like
the fourth fifth round. That seems too high. But you know,
I'm not a fantasy football except you don't know how
many that's for sure. Well, you shut up last road
(02:11:59):
over in a couple of weeks. You don't know how many.
I'm curious where Roto is because Rodo's very smart and
does a very good job. We'll have him coming up
in a few weeks. But all right, anyways, elsewhere in
the NFL, Matt, you know, of course, that the Cleveland
Browns have had four quarterbacks this season or this offseason,
(02:12:20):
Joe Flacco, can he picket, Dylan Gabriel, and Sdor Sanders.
Added another one, Tyler Huntley, signed by the Cleveland Browns
on Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (02:12:29):
What can he picket?
Speaker 1 (02:12:33):
Dylan Gabriel and Shedor Sandals are all different dealing with
different injuries. So they got five quarterbacks. Now do the
Cleveland Browns here? I want to hear. Let's get your
h I want your your sound effect reaction. Okay, go
to the list of Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Joe Flacco,
(02:12:53):
can he Pickett, Dylan Gabriel, Shade Or Sanders, Tyler Huntley?
Speaker 4 (02:13:04):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (02:13:04):
How are we feeling over there in Cleveland? What what
Holland did?
Speaker 1 (02:13:07):
I like a few years ago, the one of being
a bust Thomas Sports Enterprises before he got before, Yeah,
which was a backup quarterback Brett Huntley wasn't Eric Corner. Yeah,
you were a Brett Hunley guy. I wasn't brought that
up because I forgot about that. Yeah. Look, Thomas Sports
Enterprises hit on well, it hit on DAK and it
(02:13:27):
did well for us.
Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
Josh Ross didn't wait, John Ross?
Speaker 1 (02:13:31):
What was his name? The receiver who ran the John Ross,
John ross Ewing. He's Will Levis m out for the year.
How are we feeling?
Speaker 2 (02:13:47):
Not real bullish?
Speaker 1 (02:13:50):
All right, man, this is gonna be some shocking holes
for you. Go ahead, Jonathan, real quick. We're talking about
John ross Ewing. You know, it was a it was
a Bengals first round pick and it didn't work out well.
But thankfully he took over his dad's oil company. Man,
it's thriving.
Speaker 5 (02:14:06):
Now.
Speaker 1 (02:14:06):
He's got a cousin, Christopher that he fights with all
the time. But they're still doing well. Continue. I'm waiting
for Jonathan's reaction to that. Yeah, come on, okay, you
go from an NFO receiver to running oil company. Let's
see where John Ross is probably saying six inch or
(02:14:29):
foot long. He's playing with the Scottsdales copperheads.
Speaker 3 (02:14:34):
He is not.
Speaker 1 (02:14:37):
I liked my my response better. Okay? Anyways? Uh, Steelers
insider Mike Defabo, Matt, what do you think about his work?
Speaker 5 (02:14:50):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (02:14:50):
You love it?
Speaker 1 (02:14:51):
No of the athletic Steelers insider Mike Defabo at Steelers
training camp. Things aren't going so hot for the Steelers offense,
he says the Steeler. This is his assessment of the
Aaron Rodgers offense for the Steelers. There's no room to run.
(02:15:12):
Vertical passing game is not in sync. There's no connection
with any wide receiver too, and the young tackles are
getting destroyed in practice as well. So basically, Aaron Rodgers
is gonna run for his life. Well, at least he's
extremely mobile coming off of Achilles injury and he's like
forty two. Was this how his career was supposed to end?
(02:15:33):
By the way? Man?
Speaker 3 (02:15:35):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (02:15:35):
I was thinking this yesterday actually because there was this,
you know, you see random highlight reels on Twitter. There
was an Aaron Rodgers highlight reel. And I think, if
I go through the list of guys that gave me
like the most wow moments, Aaron Rodgers isn't like the
greatest quarterback of all time, but you know he's top
ten and I think if I go like through the
list of me just going, oh my gosh, I can't
(02:15:57):
believe what I just saw.
Speaker 2 (02:16:00):
Rogers is up there his.
Speaker 1 (02:16:01):
Clutch, He's yeah, say, he's so bizarre, but he's still
one of the all time gos. H. I don't even
care about that. I'm not even talking about that. That's
irrelevant to me. He's bros with McAfee, which takes me
down seven games, Yeah, whatever, I'm talking about. Onto the
player in his prime eighty yards in one fourteen off
(02:16:22):
the clock with no timeouts. He ain't sweating at beast
like throws who are like, how in the world did
that throw get made? Precision? Yeah, all right. Jason Alexander,
which one you'll find out next is? He joins us
here on Sports Talk seven ninety. We are very happy
to be joined at one thirty two on the Matt
Thomas Show with Ross by the winning picture of yesterday's game.
(02:16:45):
Jason Alexander with us here from Florida, and we appreciate
him spending a couple of minutes with us here on
the show.
Speaker 2 (02:16:52):
Jason, it's Madden.
Speaker 1 (02:16:53):
Ross. Congratulations on the victory. I'll say that I think
the best part of it was that basis loaded Jamie
got out of last night to take us to the
entire game, and how much sense of relief you had
not given up any runs in that frame.
Speaker 11 (02:17:07):
Well, first, I'll start off by the saying thank you
for having me here. Yeah, you know, it's very I
mean that's kind of like a big point in the
game to the sixth inning. You're trying to finish a
good start and keep the team, you know, keep the
game where it's at. And I was facing i think
the heart of their like lefties, and I had a
righty on deck, So I wouldn't say that I was
(02:17:29):
trying to pitch around who I walked the bases with
to face alrighty, But I think that's probably where Joe
kind of trusted me to to, you know, kind of
get out of that inning and finish strong.
Speaker 1 (02:17:41):
So yeah, hey, it worked out well for you. And again, congratulations.
You're in a tough spot because you're going back and
forth between sugar landing here and obviously trying to get
your feet wet and help out while you can while
some other guys are going through a variety of ailments.
Characterize this go around for you as a major league obviously,
happy for the opportunity, but still kind of trying to
(02:18:05):
fight your way to through a crowded mess right now.
Speaker 11 (02:18:08):
Yeah, I think. I think it's one thing I've always
kind of had to to battle throughout my career is
just proven that I belong and improving that you know,
I'm trust I can be trusted to start a game.
And I'm very fortunate with the Astros to have taken
me and give me these chances and opportunities, and uh,
you know, it's it's always up to us to execute
(02:18:31):
and get the job done and make the decision tough
for them on what they have to do.
Speaker 1 (02:18:36):
There's been a lot of talk over the years about
the Astros and they're pitching, coaching and brain trust and
game planning and all that type of stuff. What's your
experience been like here about how different it actually is
from from other organizations you've been in.
Speaker 11 (02:18:51):
Yeah, I think right away. I remember the beginning of
the season when I was with the A's, there was
they were giving me kind of scattering reports on hitters
and they're giving us data, but I was hoping for
specific type of data to kind of look at. And
right away when I came over to the Astros. That
was kind of exactly what was handed to me, not
without even asking. It was you know, hey, this is
(02:19:13):
what we got on hitters, and it was exactly what
I wanted. So it was great to kind of have
that at my fingertips.
Speaker 1 (02:19:20):
Are many of your fellow pitchers asking for that stuff
or are you kind of in your own world when
it comes to that. I mean, now, look, the Astros
have kind of pride themselves on adding things to people's
arsenal when they get here. But is that a trend
in baseball you see? Or are the Astras kind of
ahead of the curve on that.
Speaker 11 (02:19:39):
So I don't know so much about changing my arsenal
all that much. I think I'm still using the same
pitches that I've kind of been developing. They have more
so just given me a lot of info just on
the hitters themselves, and I think that's what really helped me.
Speaker 1 (02:19:56):
Out a lot.
Speaker 11 (02:19:57):
And we have like a video room and there's there's
been plenty guys that come in and out of there,
so I don't know exactly what they're looking at, but
I do know that whenever there's something I need, they
they there's always an answer for it.
Speaker 3 (02:20:09):
It's been great.
Speaker 1 (02:20:10):
And what's that like for you as a pitcher, like
in this day and age with the the analytics and
not wanting to get too deep into the weeds on
stuff like that, and still doing practical things like you know,
mixing up and not being predictable, changing eye levels, kind
of blending that old school pitching philosophy stuff with the
new school analytics.
Speaker 11 (02:20:31):
Yeah, I see, I think both are very important. I
think there's a lot to you know, analytics, I think
is there for a reason. I think the math kind
of checks out in a lot of boxes. But I
think there's also something too the old fashion getting a
hitter out and that's something that I try to pride
myself on. And I you know, I think I think
both things need to be taught.
Speaker 1 (02:20:52):
Uh, what's your brother? Scott also was a long time
Major leaguers as well. How much advice have you guys
given to each other over the course of your careers.
Speaker 11 (02:21:01):
I'm sure him him giving me a lot more advice
than the other way around. But we definitely whenever we
were to get we're always bouncing ideas off each other.
But he's been he's probably been the best pitching coach
in my back pocket that I could have ever asked for.
He's probably given me some of the best advice that
is just you know, you can probably only get from
someone who's been through it. So there's just been a
(02:21:24):
lot of things that have kind of just shaved my
foundation that are I had to thank.
Speaker 1 (02:21:28):
My brother for in the backyard wiffleball games of yesteryear,
who got the better of the other guy?
Speaker 11 (02:21:37):
With me and my brother, it was kind of like
the story of the Little Giants, where you know, I'm
facing a guy that's basically myself before years older, so
I'm always out matched. So it was kind of just
that win that one time out of one hundred, you know,
you know, if he beat me all week, I just
had to I had to wait till Saturday to beat him.
You know, I was looking forward to that one win,
So that was It was great. Always having him to
(02:21:59):
chase growing up. I think it's what made me work harder,
kind of always pushed me ahead of the curve, so
I got you know, I owe a lot to him.
Speaker 1 (02:22:08):
Jason Alexander with us here on the Matt Thomas Show
with Ross so as you you know, establish yourself on
this team and obviously the work yesterday was phenomenal. How
what kind of how are the fluid conversations between you,
your two pitching coaches, and your manager about what's your
role is now, what it could be for the next
you know, two to three weeks. As you're sitting you're
not only pitching for this team, but you're also in
(02:22:30):
the middle of a pennant race.
Speaker 11 (02:22:32):
Yeah, you know this is this is a great team
and and a lot of high expectations, and they kind
of keep a lot of the talk shore with me.
And for you know, for the most part, I'm okay
with that. I'm fine with just being available whenever the
team needs me. You know, whatever the team needs to win,
you know, I'm all here for it. You know, I
played a lot of baseball in my life, and I
(02:22:54):
can say that being on a winning team is there's
nothing better than being on a winning team. So, you know,
whatever team needs, I'm.
Speaker 4 (02:23:01):
Here for it, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:23:02):
Last question.
Speaker 1 (02:23:04):
When you're at the airport and they say, Jason Alexander,
we have your seat assignment, do people stand up and
sturn around, look around and go, oh my god, Jason
Alexander's here.
Speaker 11 (02:23:16):
I don't know if I've ever gotten that at an airport.
I definitely, you know, the media stands I get. I
get the Jason Alexander all the time. So Scheinfeld must
have had a very historic franchise.
Speaker 1 (02:23:31):
Well, all I want to say is this, because we
told the audience you're we were going to have you
on the show today. I didn't want to be that guy, Okay.
I didn't want to play the sound bites and have
that and use the stupid cliches. I just thought, how
do I effectively do this with making sure Jason you
doesn't get mad at me for asking about it. I
just was just curious about.
Speaker 3 (02:23:51):
I love it.
Speaker 11 (02:23:51):
I love the no soup for you. I love the
summer of George. I love to stand the best off
for the rest of us. I love all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:24:00):
Oh my god, you fully embraced it.
Speaker 11 (02:24:03):
Yeah, yeah, I you know. I joke about it with
my friends. You know when whenever it's a good game,
we were like looking at the means and stuff. It's
it's funny.
Speaker 4 (02:24:09):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (02:24:10):
Well, you know what you're doing just fine for the
city Houston, our version, Jason Alexander, we thank you for
joining us again. Congratulations, it was so much fun watching
you do your thing yesterday and get those six innings
to get the victory, and we wish to know them.
But the success the rest of the season. Yeah, thanks
for it, Houston Nation.
Speaker 6 (02:24:27):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (02:24:28):
That's it. Thanks Jason. We appreciate Jason Alexander with us
here on the Matt Thomas Show. It's good visiting with him.
Nice guy. Thank thanks very much for having him on
the show. And he could have been like, I'm good,
sick and tired of it. I don't want to hear
about that now. Just the opposite. Well, if I don't
know that ross, we would have just thrown a bunch
of stuff at him like he was like he was
(02:24:49):
in the pool, significant shrinkage, yes, and the puffy and
not the puppy shirt, but the jack What was the
name of the jacket that that your Orge Ward? Oh
the gortex jacket. Yeah, the gortex jacket. Okay, how we're
really going in the weeds? Yeah, you know, I don't.
(02:25:09):
I don't recite Seinfeld TV shows like like other people do.
It's also been thirty years soon, so nineteen ninety eight
they went off the air. Jonathan was negative six. I
was oh negative four. Oh snap, how many seinfelds have
you seen in your entire life? Full episodes? Full episodes? Okay,
so like Seinfeld's show. I'm confused. No, then of the
(02:25:31):
name of the show was Seinfeld. Oh, I've never seen
Sidefield ever. I've watched the seventy show like George Loveez,
there's all different world that got me in right now?
That was kind of out of left field? Isn't that
(02:25:52):
what Sidefeld? Good Friends?
Speaker 3 (02:25:54):
You go?
Speaker 1 (02:25:55):
Okay? Friends would be worked because they were on the
same nights on NBC at around the same time. Going
to Orge, that show is a little out of left
field from as a leap from Seinfeld. Let me give
you a copy, Matt, you were on track, No, Johnathan,
but I did play Ping Pong. I mean I guess.
Oh yeah, okay, okay, look, Seinfeld is on a lot.
(02:26:19):
Would you watch one episode and see if you laugh
at all? Okay, yeah, I watch one? Would don't do
season one or two? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:26:27):
Pretty slow?
Speaker 1 (02:26:27):
If we gave him an episode to watch, I don't know.
Probably the late stuff, but that's when it got kind
of cartoonish. Is like big bank theory. Oh no, it's
way smarter than big bank. Big bank theory is like
I don't know, cheesy, more cheesy. I think, how about
the contest and give them the contest? Sure, yeah, it's
(02:26:48):
on Netflix.
Speaker 3 (02:26:48):
In it still.
Speaker 1 (02:26:52):
Yeah, I mean yeah, you can find you can go
on YouTube and find I'm sure problem. All right, So
there you is. Yeah, we gotta get We gotta get
you one episode matter effect. Send us a tweet. Which
episode would you want to watch?
Speaker 11 (02:27:02):

Speaker 1 (02:27:03):
Anything involving Georgia and uh and the being the traveling
Secretary for the Yankees. Yea, that may be funny. That's
not my bad either, all right, Believe it or not?

Speaker 2 (02:27:29):
Well, I'm glad you asked uh today.
Speaker 1 (02:27:32):
We're playing for a four pack of tickets with pit
passes to see Monster Jam October the eighteenth, and NRG Stadium.
Tickets are on sale at ticketmaster dot com. If you
want to go to Monster Jam Muster Jam, Oh God

seven one three two one two five, seven ninety on
(02:27:56):
Sports' Talk seven ninety. A couple of people have asked
me when the NBA schedules coming out. It'll probably be
I think a week from Thursday. There are people that
are there's a fake sham Sharani account out there that
people are h oh unfortunately treating as gospel. It's not
(02:28:17):
even the fake account is not even closer ross to
the real account. And when I see a fake account,
I block it. But people are treating this thing as gospel.
I didn't see this. Yeah, So talking about Christmas Day, Okay,
do I think the Rockets have got a better than
I would say they've got a better than not chance,
better than fifty fifty. I feel like it's like a
(02:28:39):
seventy eight chance. They're playing on Christmas. Yeah, probably against Warriors, Suns, Laker,
and it's gonna be a Marquie matchup.
Speaker 4 (02:28:51):
I think.
Speaker 1 (02:28:53):
I like it to be home.
Speaker 5 (02:28:54):
Can I be?
Speaker 1 (02:28:56):
Was that asking too much? I understand we've had a
few Christmases off. It's been nice not having to worry
about who's working pre and post.
Speaker 3 (02:29:06):
We had a.
Speaker 1 (02:29:06):
Christmas Day game in San Francisco, and I'm sure there
has been at least one Christmas home game. You remember
working on a Christmas for a home Generally we made
Michael Connor do it because I had tenure m and
so guess what whoever I'm doing them with this year,
I've got tenure. Carle Thompson can't wait? Well, who knows,
(02:29:33):
I don't get one of the atoms on it. Why'd
you raw your eyes as you said that?
Speaker 4 (02:29:37):
I did.
Speaker 2 (02:29:37):
I had a little scratch.
Speaker 1 (02:29:39):
My eyebrow got scratch. Berkeley Center, Yeah, that's right, Berkeley Center. Wow,
look at this guy man, you.
Speaker 2 (02:29:46):
Know what he's learning the bizs.
Speaker 1 (02:29:47):
You know, maybe that'll get you a field goal for SFA.
That's good work for you in there. Oh so instead
of score being seventy three to three, May seventy three
to six. I was a good one. Uh yeah. I
I'm trying to think we had to have had maybe
one Christmas Day. I don't remember, but I definitely remember.
We were in San Francisco. The Rockets were depleted of injuries.
(02:30:08):
The Warriors were even worse. I think the Warriors was
the first year the Chase Center opened up, I was
like twenty one or something, twenty. It's been a while.
And then the Rockets moved away from Russell Westbrook and
James Harden and we lost sixty games in a row
three straight years. And now they won fifty two and
trade away their top score. But they got Kevin Durant back.
(02:30:32):
It's scary how much the publicity is about this Rocket team.
The hype like Kendrick Perkins can't get enough on, Like
Kendrick state away Perkins, Oh, stay away, it takes. They
concern me a little bit. He's still on TV. Good
for him. Yeah, apparently he's gonna be hosting NFL Red
Zone next year. Okay, good, I saw that tweet. Could
you imagine that it's gonna be steven A, steven A
(02:30:56):
