little bit here. I was supposed to go on NBA
TV this morning in NBA Radio to do kind of
some fun talk about Oklahoma City, uh and the Rockets
game the other night. They apparently they played my oh
no call like twenty times during the course of their show.
Oh really, Yeah, that was funny because again I didn't

know what to say except oh my god, Kevin Durant
called the time out when there was time out for
the clock and he didn't have one oh no. So
they sent me a text and said, we got a
bumpy today. I'm like, well, I kind of figured out why.
If you woke up this morning aroundy o'clock you found
out that Terry Rojier Charlie Miami NBA player, current NBA player,

has been arrested. You then also found out that current
NBA head coach and I believe NBA Hall of Famer
or a Basketball Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups I think.

I heard it from one person. I mean, it doesn't
mean that he's in. That's a fringe case. Well, but
it's the Basketball Hall of Fame. Puts anybody I know
Chauncey Billups, current coach of the Portland Trailblazers, has been
the Basketball Hall of Fame. Oh that's weak. Yeah, I
mean I don't. I'm not putting chance on my all
time list, but that's not here now. All right. So
they have been arrested in two separate cases, both involving gambling.

Terry Rozier basically, is it point shaving or is it yeah,
point shavings, fine, match fixing? Mat Yeah, there's a lot
of things you can call, but basically, he's he had
a system going where people were putting money on how
he did on his individual performances and or teams. We
don't know how deep that is, but Terry was well

aware of it. Terry was receiving money because of it.
Blah blah blah blah blah. So that's that's one issue.
Then you've got Chauncey Billups, And you have someone that
I've known for thirty years involved in it too, Damon Jones.

I my first year calling college basketball for the University
Houston was nineteen ninety six, ninety seven. That was the
last year Damon Jones played for the University Houston before
he went on to the NBA. I've known Damon Jones
since that time. Since he's in college. He and I
have done games together on a University Houston broadcast. He
and I have done I have done shows before. Remember

when CSN used to have that Sports Talk Live show
back in the day CNN. He and I were shows.
When I would see him as an assistant coach with Cleveland,
we'd hug it out, say hello, catch up on things.
I mean we were not daily texters, monthly texts, but
I would say Damon Jones and I for a large
part of the last has probably been a couple of years,

but I would say we probably text once a month
for a stretch of years. Now you're saying, well, what
were you texting about? Well, it was HI, how are you?
How are things going? As far as it goes, if
you have not heard Chauncey Billups, Damon Jones and three

adding to the mix. Yes, in total, thirty six people
I believe or thirty seven were arrested. So let's tell
you what they're doing. Chauncey, Billups, Damon Jones, and Taro

Rozier are all in custody. Basically what Chauncey and Damon did.
And I listened to the press conference coming in this morning.
It was on one of the It was on the
serious XMNBA channel. The channel also is Beyond Today. They
fixed poker games. They lured people in that were significantly

into the illegal poker game scheme. Mm hmm. They entice
these people to come play in these poker games because
they said, you get a chance to play with a
Hall of Famer in Chauncey Phillips. You get a chance
to play with the former NBA player Damon Jones, who
was By the way, Damon Jones and Lebron James have
a deep, deep friendship. I don't know what it's like

right now, but Lebron, but anywhere Lebron has gone over
his career for the at least early in his NBA career,
Damon Jones has followed him. They were teammates in Cleveland
when they won the Eastern Conference champions but they did
not win the NBA title when Damon was playing. But
early on, I don't know, that may not be true.
I know Damon was with Lebron as a player and

then it was like his personal shooting coach for a while.
So Damon alleged is all allegedly. I guess we should
say allegedly a lot. But I mean, I just listened
to the press conference. They would course people to play
in these high end poker games with these mob families
that help facilitate them and bring people in. And Rossie,

they rigged everything. They rigged the cards, they rigged the shuffler.
There were glasses that could help detect cards. There were
video cameras, there were data ports, there were phones. It
literally sounded like I was listening to a plot of

a Mafiosa movie, and we don't you know, Look, it's
twenty twenty five. We don't use the word mafia very much. No,
but we need to, I guess, so a lot of
the modern day technology and whatnot. And then of course
the Rico charges and busts up of families has of

course made mob activity not what it once was. And
you know, yeah, fifties and sixty if we're talking about
mafioso in sports, maybe where if there were sports sports
radio was in nineteen sixty four, maybe would have more
of a conversation about it. And also, guys at that
point were not making any kind of money, so if
they were influenced and a chance to make a quick
buck through illegal tactics, they were going to do that.

So we have to treat them as two separate cases.
The only problem with Damon is he's the only one
attached to both of them. He knew about the the
the point fixing or the game fixing mode with Terry Rogier,
and he was also involved in this poker situation. I
would ask you all today not between now and two o'clock, hopefully,

you know, whenever two thirty three o'clock, maybe tonight, when
you're at home at two oh one, go get some
clips off of YouTube of this FBI press conference. It
was Rossie. It was mind blowing the first of all
the years years of investigation on this, the clarity in
which they had the amount of evidence they had, the

amount of intelligence, the amount of the war crew. They
just didn't flippantly put this together. They didn't get a
phone call on the crime Stoppers tip line and go, okay,
wet's go find out what's going on. Somebody tipped them
off to these two particular cases, and it is one
hundred percent and through. I don't know how much fault

the NBA gets should receive, but it's a dark day
for the NBA when you have an active coach, a
Hall of Famer, and an active player now Terry Rogers.
I don't believe they've ever been an All Star game.
But Terry Rozier is a rotational player in the NBA
and has been a very good player. Now, Graham, you
didn't know much about him in Charlot because the Hornets
were terrible, but he got to Miami in and trade

a couple of years ago and has been in a back,
impactful player. I've called many games against with Terry Rogier
on the floor. Career earnings one hundred and thirty five
million in the NBA, so it's pretty good.
