Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Matt Thomas Show with Ross.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
One an h Town. Good morning, and welcome to a
Thursday edition of The Matt Thomas Show with Ross. We
come to you today at least half of us from Atlanta, Georgia,
where tonight it is a seismic preseason tilt featuring your
Houston Rockets trying to go perfect in the preseason at

(00:29):
four to oh. All they have to do, ROSSI is
beat those Atlanta Hawks.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Huge game coming up, especially after Trey Young's big announcement.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I missed it.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
What is it he did? He pulled a lebron You
didn't see that? Well, I know he did something on Instagram. Second,
he teased an announcement, and then he partnered with some
kind of like spiked teeth.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Are we gonna have to start telling some people to
shut their ball masses up? It would be like if
you and I had like a grandiose pick announcement on
the show and we sold it as something way more
than it. I mean, look, we appreciate.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Our appetun we oversell sometimes maybe daily, but that's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Uh but yeah, come on, I mean you if you
are a NBA star, a professional athlete with a huge reach,
don't you gotta be kind of careful on that kind
of stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Well, what it did hurt at the end of the day.
I mean, he just put out some ig posts and
then you got some run for whatever. I don't remember
what the name of the spike tea was.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I know what it is. I saw. Now, Okay, they're
not getting a run on the show unless I gonna
spend some money.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
So I'm not a fan of spiked tea, by the way,
which apparently the kids love because Jonathan Allen.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, it's too sweet for me. But that's time
they here there. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
I guess because I grew up the way I grew up,
We had tea every day, and then just to have
it with alcoholics is weird to me.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I don't know why. Yeah, I don't. I don't even
mix my tea with my lemonade. I don't even do that.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
But if dad came home and there was no tea
in the fridge, me or my brother and my sister,
we're in trouble. Somebody like, hey, where's the tea? What's
going on here?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
That's funny, that's funny. Hey, Uh so last night went
out to the suburbs, meet some friends for dinner and
had a wonderful Asian meal. It was a Asian brupub ross,
a little really lured and uh, you know Atlanta's hot
for those Uh yeah you Atlanta, Georgia. Well, I mean
it was delicious. We had some pork belly tacos that

(02:25):
were really really good. Okay, Hey, dumplings, Korean style wings.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Okay, and would be the Korean double fried. Yeah, and
then two different types of sushi.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
And all I asked for was to put the playoff
game on and they said what game is that? And
I said, okay, I see it Houston an alone when
it comes to sports bar, right. No, but they had
TVs on. They had they had the game on between
Jacksonville State and Delaware on, so I knew there was
something going on.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh no, it was somebody pissed you had it turned
off of there.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
No, there were multiple TVs in this place, so I
had to help help them. I said, it's on channel
two nineteen, and so they hit two nineteen and I
didn't realize they didn't have a direct TV. They had
cable instead. So remote for you, dot Biz needs to
open up an Atlanta branch Okay, it was.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
It was a work in progress.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But the best news of it all the story is
is that every time that I kept looking at it,
I was having dinner with my friend, the Toronto Blue
Jays were hitting home runs.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
So it made me feel really good. Yeah, I wasn't
watching intently, but yeah, like you have checked the score.
I think I saw in like the fifth inning they
were crushing them. And then come the sixth ending, that's
when I stopped paying attention.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I don't know about you, folks, and look, we certainly
have had this experience in our life many a time
in Houston, Texas.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I you're a sports fan.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
You have to step up your financial interest in your
sport if you want to be at these events, correct,
I mean you go into a Rando Astros versus Guardians
game in July, ingle is going to cost you probably
double to go to a playoff game, right or triple
on something trip? Say yeah, yeah, and then if you
want to go have that that really delicious cold beverage
that you like. You know how the Astros always say, hey,

(04:04):
come look at our posts and beverages and enjoy this
nineteen ounces of this this this it's only forty two dollars. Yeah,
and they serve it in the ninth inning. Now, well
that's because they're not stupid. But you have to if
you are a fan, like you want to be at
the biggest games, you have to pay. The least the
home teams could do is win. We haven't had a
home team win yet.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yeah, that's it's pretty crazy. That's part of the gamble.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Though it is part of the game.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
They might lose.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
It is a flat out gamble. There's no guarantee that
you being there and you spending eighty one eighty dollars
to park or those tickets that were five times they
were during the regular season, are ever going to pay off.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
It's interesting because if you if you pay like one
hundred and fifty dollars for a concert, I mean there,
I guess there is a chance you'll be disappointed, but
it's a small chance. You're not going to be like
this was the worst. You're not going to be like
you're watching your team get bludgeon thirteen to four. In
a baseball game, there's less of a game amble spending
that money than there isn't in a football game or

(05:03):
or a baseball game or whatever. Yeah, is there anything
else like that.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
The concert parallel is really good because it'd be like
going to see Billy Joel and him not singing piano man.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yeah, but he still has some other hits and you
might still enjoy yourself. You're not gonna say that was horrible,
that was a horrible experience. There's no Mariners fan saying
that was a great time.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah. When cal Raley hit home run the eight thing,
they're like, oh, that's worth it.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Now exactly at least you're gonna see I don't know,
under pressure or what is it scenes from what you call.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
It Italian restaurant scenes that. Yeah, he's gonna play some hits.
Randy Roserena cal Rawley hit a home run. They hit
two of them in the eighth inning. He got that
twelve to four.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Billy Joel didn't hit the Grand Slam, but he played.
He got he got a couple of triples.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
I'm trying to think what would be up. What's a
good thing? Is there anything else you pay good money?
I mean restaurants, but.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Oh, I give it.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I have a great example.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
How about if you're going to go see a play
and the star is not available, so the understudy shows.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Up, Yes, but I mean Romeo and Juliet's still Romeo
and Juliet.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
But if if it's starring somebody that you like, if
it's uh.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
You understood, he's probably still pretty good. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
If it's Bradley what's his face from the Hangover movies, Cooper,
brad If it's Bradley Cooper is Romeo and now it's
George Miller, it's gonna be a little bit of a
drop off.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Hmm. Yeah. I guess if you go to Broadway and
they get but that's probably that's probably super rare too.
I mean baseball basically a home playoff baseball game is
like fifty five fifty five forty five.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I got one more for you. Let's say that you
go to a comedy act.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Okay, that could happen, and it stinks.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
The well that either it can stink, or the tour
or the or the league guy that's the guy that
you're going to see the headliner gets sick or his
materials back. Well, the understand other guys do fine. And
you chuckled a couple of times that you didn't pay
one hundred andny five dollars to see Mordy Wagner. You
know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
You would go see the main guy, or you sit
in the front and he just makes fun of you
how ugly you are the whole time. Oh that's which.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
I When Lisa Lampinelli was doing comedy and I used
to follow her, I was in the second deck.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Are you kidding me? A bald white man? Yous?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
I was like, can I have the worst possible seats?

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Please?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
That is are you serious? Did you consciously buy not
want to be near her? There?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
When we were living in the Twin Cities and she
was playing in a theater house in Minneapolis, and I
was like, I want no, I want nothing closer than
maybe the thirtieth row. So they said, we have this
great seats in the second deck. I said, I'll take them.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
That's pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, you don't want any part. You don't know you're
in the first four rows of a handful of comedians.
And I'm just using Lisa as an example. And she
doesn't even do common anymore. You want no part of that.
You don't want to be a part of the big
She doesn't bed natured about it.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
She's retired.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, she went nice. She was the Queen of Meane
for the longest time, and now she's just not doing
it anymore at all. So she was on those Comedy
Central rows and she you know, she was mainly known
for sleeping with black man, was her bit, and that's
how it became she she would take shots that way,
and people would take shots at her and I'm like
staying far away. Yeah. No, it's a plain old white guy.

(08:11):
That's not gonna happen on my watch. That's why that
second deck seat was just fine.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh wow, I'm reading her Wikipedia. She went under underwent
gastric sleeve surgery in twenty twelve, lost one hundred pounds. Yeah,
and the reported change made her reevaluate many things in
her life.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
She's no longer funny.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
She amicallely divorced, amicably, divorced her husband and introduced him
to the woman he ultimately married.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
What that's crazy, That is crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
She retired from comedy and became a life coach. You
know that's a job. I want life coachho No, I mean,
who was at the end of the day, who's really
qualified to be a life coach? I all of us
are just trying to figure this all out.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
I Actually, I got to be honest with you. I
actually know a life coach.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Uh huh. And they've been twice divorced. In there, they
got a bunch of credit card net And when.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
He told me he was a life coach, I'm not
gonna say who it is. But when he told me
who he was, I was like, I almost I almost
said get the blank out of here. But he was serious.
He was really serious about it.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yeah, I'm gonna, you know what, I'm gonna start transitioning
to my how do I how do I become a
life coach?

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I don't know, declare yourself one? I mean, that's a
great question. The thing I know is is that like
they always say that, And we're gonna get back to sports,
I promise, because we're chock full of sports today.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yes, we were talking baseball. Let me me quick.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
So people that are therapists typically have the most fed
up lives, is what? Not? Not every therapist, but a
lot of yeah with some yes, yeah, but some definitely
have a screwed up that you would say, if you
knew their background, they should never be doing any sort
of therapy. Mm hm. So I'm curious if the life
coach is somebody that we should be taking life lessons

(10:06):
from if we think the person's life is terrible.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
It's like when you're talking to your lady and she's like,
I was talking to my friend and she said I
should do this this, and so.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I'm like, have you seen her?

Speaker 3 (10:14):
She's given like a relationship advice, and she's been divorced
like three times, and she breaks up with her boyfriend
and falls in love and gets back together with her
boyfriend's cheated on her five times, and she keeps coming
back and she's given relationship advice.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah. Yeah, So I'm gonna go ahead and call bs
anybody that's a life coach because Lisa Lampanelli Ross, you
know my sense of humor, she was uber, raw, uber, insensitive,
mm hmm, uber, just awful human being and I loved it.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
And I miss it.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Well, she said she felt misunderstood. Maybe you misunderstood her, Matt,
You're part of the problem. Now she's life coaching. I'm
going to become a life coach. I've just decided right now,
life coach certification. Alright, tell you some online classes for this.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
All right, you know what, since you you're talking to
this big fight now, here we go exactly.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I don't know what time out right now, what you need?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
This is not on the deep show run sheet, showdown
of the program to day. We're gonna see how how
Ross does the life coach.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Okay, let's go.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
If you want to call y seven one three, yes,
two one two, let's do it. Five. Here's how it works.
Seven one three two one. Now remember word than ten
o'clock hour Ross. So we're like, we're going to test
our ten o'clock.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Audience right here now. Of course, you realize I'm saying
this knowing that this is a scam profession. Well, we're
about to find out, because I want you to be honest.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Call seven one three two one two five seven ninety
if you have any questions about your life, what you
could do with it, Let's put Ross to the test.
We'll do it.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
And this just this one second year to see how
this goes. Hey, I was a student mentor in eighth grade.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
That doesn't count. There's gonna mean clarification. I was a
safety officer in the fifth grade, and I wrote a
bunch of tickets for people that were going to like,
nobody asked that anything to do. What we're talking about
all right. So after that, Jonathan and I will decide
whether you should continue this coach life.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Coach, No, it's my first day. I can get better.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Do you want? You want hands on training? Guess what
you're getting in right now?

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Nobody's calling it.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Sixty five oh, coach academy. All right, I'm gonna see
how much this coach is fraud. Coach Academy costs one
hundred dollars probably at least a few g's right, seven
one three two one two five seven, Let's exceed.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Let's find out exactly if you can handle this whole
life coach bit that you think you're going to do,
because it's not a Google MPT segment, it's a definitely
what can Ross do for me in my life? And
we'll see if it works out, and we'll see if
people actually buy this bit.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
You're trying to settle the city of Houston. Here at
ten fourteen.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Uh at eleven thirty to day, we got I just
don't get it. We've got the news at noon coming up.
We've got the rotten five at twelve fifty. Well they
fritz on our Houston Cougars are back at action. On
Saturday against Arizona. We'll talk with him at one thirty
and we have believe it or not, but we're gonna
try this right now. If you need any sort of
life advice seven one three two one two five seven

(13:14):
ninety can you give Can Ross give you the life
advice you need? Or is this gonna be an utter
train wreck and you'll be further embarrassed with the lack
of success in your overall life Ross, We're about to
find out. Seven one three two one two five seven
ninety that's seven one three two one two five seven
ninety four. You've got ridding me. You've gotta five. We

(13:41):
know that you want some Texan Seahawks preview. We'll get
that to you, I promise you. And you and you
want a deep dive in the Ale playoffs and you
want to get into obviously the Rockets final preseason tilt
with the Hawks. But some things organically just pop up
on the old Matt Thomas should Ross. We're not in
a suit for heavy sports. Time at leads to the

(14:02):
local stuff. So we're gonna try this, and my expectations
are minimal at best, I would say. By the one
caller we've had on the line here Rossa, there are
people have little faith of you. That's okay, you know,
I mean, I'm just starting now. These are free sessions.
Oh so you're looking to eventually charge a prowers. Just
like we're at the Visible Changes Academy. You're getting a

(14:23):
free haircut. It's a try at the University of Houston,
a dentistry department.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
I got you. Oh they do that? Yeah, what if
they crack your mouth open?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Well that's the chance you take.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Oh all right, well that seems a little more serious
than a haircut.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Well, I mean, what is a cracked youth among friends?
I mean, I don't know dollars? So what did they
extract the wrong tooth? I'm not saying you each would
do that because they have great DENTISTI but no, we
have a world renowned dentistry school. I didn't say anything,
and I'm just trying to get ahead of the curve.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
On that a little bit. Why I didn't say a word,
but you were thinking, no I didn't, George?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Is whether it's on ask ross the life coach, George,
good morning to you.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Who's house Cook's house?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
So you're off to a bad start.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Says you, But Hey, so I just spent nine days
in jail, thirty days at ben Top after an attack
they to know and fights, then got sucker punch, and
then now I'm fighting a legon section with no plate.
I count for thirty days. So my question is as

(15:40):
if my lawyer that a women's settlement or am I
going home broke?

Speaker 3 (15:48):
First of all, let's talk a little bit more about
these these fights. George, you said you're eighteen, and oh
are you a profess? Are you talking about golden gloves
or professional boxing? Are we talking about street fights?

Speaker 7 (16:01):
Street fights? And I learned off of YouTube TSI and the.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I just was a meditation? You mean like muay Thai?
Or are you meditating during these fights?

Speaker 7 (16:18):
It's like kung fu? But I thought it was tight.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Taekwondo. Okay, where do you normally go out? Are you
seeking out and starting these fights? No, you've been in
a bar.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
You've been in.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Nineteen bar fights and they're all by accident. You didn't
start one of them.

Speaker 7 (16:40):
Sure, you know, I said jail.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Wait, you got an eighteen fights in jail?

Speaker 7 (16:47):
Yeah, because that's that happens in jail.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Okay, are you inebriated right now?

Speaker 2 (16:53):
George?

Speaker 7 (16:55):
No, I'm ben Top Hospital.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
You're at ben Tapha Spittal. Are you calling us from
the hospital?

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Man?

Speaker 7 (17:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Okay on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Thank you for that.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
I guess are you employed?

Speaker 7 (17:11):
I run my own business and my house in terms boker.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Are you?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Are you running your business for yourself? Are you your
number one customer?

Speaker 6 (17:25):
No?

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (17:28):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Are you married?

Speaker 8 (17:29):
Are you married?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Do you have a girlfriend?

Speaker 7 (17:33):
I'm divorced. I have about a thousand women who wanted
to go on a date women?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
A thousand?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Really?

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Where'd you come up with this number?

Speaker 7 (17:41):
I got TikTok famous while I was here, and you got.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Can we object from this?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Like any No?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
This is great? What are you talking about your TikTok
famous in prison? Do you have a you have a
smartphone with you in prison and you went you became
TikTok famous and now a thousand? What kind of videos
are you uploading? George the sand bed.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
It's either me praying or me just rapping or singing
the songs the different filters on TikTok? All right, George,
and I got I got like I got like seven
thousand followers in eight days?

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Wow, what's the accounting?

Speaker 7 (18:27):
I got five of them, but it's George Robertson. Okay,
I don't need more fame guys like George Robertson. George
Robertson zero seven.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Four okay, George Robertson. And where are you right now?
You're still at the hospital.

Speaker 7 (18:44):
And then six sore room cheats you and Vanadia what
prob at least tomorrow? But they've been saying that for
thirty days now.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Oh wow, what's what kind of injuries did you say
of her?

Speaker 7 (19:03):
Oh? I don't know the listeners want to hear this,
but what I got forty people watch while mister incredible
Hope shocked the upside my right cheekbone and muse at
blood and I was coming to coma for like three days.
Welcome and ben tab Be have.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
A thirty Okay.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Well, My life advice to you, George is first and
foremost some psychotherapy. I think you need to talk to
somebody about getting your life in order and and trying
to figure out what's going on with these all these
fights that you've been getting into.

Speaker 7 (19:39):
I sir, that's because of prison. I'm Christian. I've got
God's got me.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Okay, Well, I needed to talk to that guy, too,
and I mean talk to anybody. Okay, what does he say?

Speaker 7 (19:56):
He says that day three, don't put your tent and
the shallow of the value of debts. You gotta keep
moving into the semid spirit shines a bonding you once again.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
All right, thank you, George. I thought he said he
was undefeated.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
He does have twelve hundred and nine followers.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Look, I need a mulligan. That guy's beyond help.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I don't know what you what you suggested to him,
but I have a pretty good feeling it's not going
to work.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
WHOA, he's been in the hospital for thirty days, he said,
the incredible Hulk smacked him upside the head.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
He's got it.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Looks like he's got multiple Our friend atix Hope girl
sending us multiple TikTok accounts. He's thinking at five right, Okay,
So can Nick Keyley lead this offense against that pretty
ferocious Seattle defense. Will Texas have any issues with Kentucky

(21:06):
this weekend?

Speaker 8 (21:09):
Are the.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Oh my god, oh my god, let's regroup.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I don't know how we do this. Actually, it's time
for a break anyways, That's how we do this.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Okay, We're going to take a break. We're going to
pretend the first half hour the show never happened. You
know what, we were actually off the air, what was
it on Monday, Rossie.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
For about a good half hour. That might have been
better that we just prevent present our audience here. Disagree?

Speaker 2 (21:42):
He did you want? I want? He want his own
session too.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Okay, good, we'll get GEO when we come back. Can
this I I, oh my god, you started this bit?

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Yes, sir, because it's a light sports week. Don't blame
me trying to keep the people entertained. I think that
was confused. I would entertained. Yeah, but the poor man's
been in bed Town for thirty I mean that can't
that can It's not going to.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
End well for him. Well, I'm wishing him the best.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
I am as well. And I don't think you gave
very much good advice.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
You just told uh that's that's the advice. That the
best advice he could have gotten. All right, or talk
to Jesus. I told him one or the other.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Should the Texans go after Breese Hall? That's what we
should be discussing. That's what the other stations in town
are getting into.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
What happened to Breese Hall.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
May be up on the available on those streets, those
trade streets. Ten thirty five Matted rash with you here
on all Sports, all the time, Sports Talk Sevenatti.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
I mean, hell, I'll even break we're talking prison boxing.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
That is actually true in the M M A game,
he said, you know, if I have not been in
a hospital to spend the night in a long time,
I don't know if I'm calling a radio station if

(23:07):
I'm in there at any point.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
I appreciate George and I'm wishing him the best. He
sounds like a troubled individual quite frankly. Yeah, yeah, but
I mean the thought counts.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
He had probably a handful of minutes to talk before
his next check of his vitals, and he said.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Let me call Matt and Ross KEASO is with us.
What's your chili?

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Can comment today at ten thirty five of the Matt
Thomas Shoe Ross Case.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
So, good morning, good morning, real quick. I know you
guys hate bit stealing, but I'm afraid you all are
bit stealing right now with the life advice.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Explain.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
Are you all.

Speaker 9 (23:46):
Familiar with a certain podcast host named Ryan Roussillo.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
I know the name, don't I don't listen to his podcast.

Speaker 9 (23:55):
At the very end of each podcast, he's literally called
life Advice sending the craziest emails. Sometimes he gets duped,
but literally.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
I don't think there. Honestly, I don't think we got dupe.
I think I think I could hear them.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
We've been Life Advice segment since Matt was on with
Lance and even maybe before that.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
So, Yeah, Ryan Russell, the guy that that broke into
somebody's house to steal their pills out of their out
of their out of their bathroom.

Speaker 9 (24:28):
No, he was Bill Simmons, like best friend and he
just left to go to that awful barstool or whatever.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Well, no, wonder, I'm not listening. I think he did
do that what you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, that's all he No, he broke he he was
high as a kite or something and went into he
went into the wrong house to go get some more pills,
and he wound up going into his neighbor's house.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
He was naked or something, right, breaking.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
In and going to the Yes, Yeah, I think I've
got Ryan. That's the right Ryan Resis. I don't know
the guy, but I just that's what I know of him.
Use an ESPN for a while.

Speaker 9 (25:07):
Yeah, him and Bill were on ESPN and Grant Land
and they book got Fired together all this other stuff.
But the real reason I was calling it was, Matt.
I was watching Netflix this morning and I heard your
voice on what you know?

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Why?

Speaker 9 (25:21):
No, I don't the starting the starting five and it
has uh James Harden on there and the episode I
think three when he comes back to Houston to break
Ray Allen's three point record.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
They you hear your voice talking about James, and and
it made multiple times where you're on my TV.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
Was it as a talk show hosts or is it
an announcer.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
As a.

Speaker 9 (25:46):
Honestly, I don't know that. It was very clear. I
think it was announcer. You were announcing the game.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
What year was that? The home?

Speaker 9 (25:54):
This was this year? This whenever he came back the Clippers.
I guess you know, the past five.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
But oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah that I
definitely when he did set a mark while he was
in Houston, I remember that.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
I just remember what it was for. But yeah, that
was that probably was me, like.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
This year, yeah it was you.

Speaker 9 (26:12):
I was like, holy crap, I got we gotta rub
this in Ross's face.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
A no, no, and Roskin to do anything about that.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
I don't care.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
He probably would have, like you would have objected to it.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
I don't think. Well, I'm happy for that. You mean,
like the p announcer or like the play by.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Play play by play?

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Yeah, what's didn't cut you a check for that, Maddy?

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Well, you know it's funny. I get checks from Jimmy Kimmel.
I don't know if I should cash him or not,
but I know.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
You need to check from Netflix.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I do what's the name of the show, because I
want to I want to be able to hear it.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
I'm starting five. It's like a documentary.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
You know.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
They do quarterback and they follow a bunch of quarterbacks
and wide receiver starting five. They've been doing it for
a few years too.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Okay, well, I'm gonna look it up at little Netflix.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
A little check, a little little email, Yeah, send a
what do you call invoice?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah, that's exactly.

Speaker 9 (26:58):
I think it's episode three and he can when he
comes back to Houston and it's him trying to break
the record, and it's just you basically talking about like, oh,
so close, but you didn't do it, so said.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Okay, well thanks k so. And if anybody can get
that audio to me or that video, send me the
photo like on Twitter or something. And then any money
I get from Netflix, I'll get you a finder's fee
because they're not supposed to use my voice without my
permission unless the Rockets spoke on my babit say.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Oh yeah, you can use it.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Maybe did did we at Sports Talk seven I allow
this to happen? Didn't they reach out to us?

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I don't know. Is Gordy Gordy playing me off and
just saying hey, he took the check, he said hello,
my name is Matt Thomas.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Wow, that's terrible. H Gordy Gordy Gordy taking my profits
from from being on the on the Netflix broadcast.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yes, sucks. Well, I guess I gotta come to work
every day.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Then, all right, Ross, I would say this segment's been
a little bit better than the first two. Crescendoing like
the ten o'clock hours, kind of a warm up.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Hour, multiple people saying it was gold Maddie, all right, that's.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Good, that's good. What are the other stations in town
are doing? What are they breaking down? Don't know, don't care.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
All right, maybe Derek Stingley going against Jackson Smith and Jigma.
I guess I mean Derek Single's not having a lockdown
here quite frankly.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
No, he's not. By the way, did you do did
you check on our PFF grade yesterday?

Speaker 10 (28:30):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Do you want to know the offensive line rankings? Now?

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Before we'll do that next break, We've got a little
bit of time left in this one. Did you see
jj Watt went on McAfee and was like, you guys
got to stop using PFF grade?

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (28:41):
What did you think about him statement saying those things?

Speaker 3 (28:43):
What do I say? Ninety nine percent of the time
we bring it up. It's one data point. It's one
data point. Yeah, it's certainly, and it's also different. Some
things are better at than others. They can generally do
a better job of grading, say, offensive line, because they
can tell is it a zone block, is it duo?
Is it inside zone? Is it whatever? And then but

(29:07):
as far as like coverages, for example, with linebackers and
cornerbacks and safeties, the waters get a little bit more money.
Who missed the assignment? Who was supposed to be on
this route or that route? Same thing with wide receivers,
route combinations and stuff like that. There certainly is a
lot of gray area.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Well, I'll say this, and I tease them because I
don't think they have sex or have relations with many people.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
They do.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
They are pronounced, that's right. I forgot to say that.
They put the time in. I mean, they're doing more
work than I am on it. Again, it may not
be the end all, but is there any stat service
out there that is one hundred percent pristine? I mean
when ESPN grades and stuff is that perfect? Is it?
When what other else is there pro football references and stuffing?

(29:51):
I mean, I think nobody's perfect on that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah, they they have to do a lot of guesswork
as far as what the coverages and calls are and
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
And then to me, jj Watt would and I would,
would you say umbrage with it?

Speaker 10 (30:04):
Or just I.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Didn't see his exact comments, but yeah, the the the
drum has been banged for years about PFF grades and
that's why I always say take them with a grain
of salt. I always say that.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
So, if you're Chris Collinsworth and you own the thing,
or at least partly on it, yes, do you not
want to you all get together in the end of
during the off season, say hey, how are we going
to metrically be more accurate in this time.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Yeah, I mean they've they've refined their process every year,
year after year after year. And and also teams buy
their data, So I mean you could say this is
bad stuff all you want, but teams are buying into it,
So I mean, well, way.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
My element My thought is, again, I don't spend a
lot of time on PFF, but if it's gonna give
me some metrics that that the average lay website's not
gonna give me, I'm gonna give them their props. And
if they're poonhounds on top of that, it's even better.
They live on the best life they can, all right.
So the PFF grades and the Texans offensive line, it
had been sort of there at number thirty two. It
moved up to what thirty last week, the twenty nine

(31:04):
I think, or thirty nine. Whatever do you get to
move up when you don't play. We'll find out next
seven one three, two, one two five seven ninety two.
Sam Davis on the Twitter, you sent us a tweet
that said that ed Ingram Rossi is the number one
rated guard according to Pro Football Focus.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Ed Ingram a guy who was not even on the
radar for the.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Texans except for just a guy that was just a
seat filler, and he has played very.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Well for the local football team. Yes, credit Nick Casario. Great, fine, Yeah,
the offensive line for the Houston Texans.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
No one should be worried. Everything is gonna be a copasetic.
Nobody said that.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
I mean, we can go to the offensive line rankings
whenever you're ready.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
I'm ready, ladies and gentlemen. Pro Football Focus not the
be all and all member. They are the poonhounds, but
they are also evaluators.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Of offensive line. Yes, and they have the Texans at
number twenty nine, just like last week.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
So they didn't move up or down because again I
guess it's because they didn't play. Is it the reason why?
Or is it cumulative? Or is it cumulative?

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Okay, dead last, Browns. We'll count down from thirty two
or up from thirty two, I should say Browns, Dolphins, Bengals, Texans.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
So it's actually it's actually a minor miracle. The Texans
are two and three with the fourth worst offensive line
in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Right, yes, they're getting better, Matt, I think, all right,
we're pretty good in the run game. Ed Ingram's grades
are very good in the run game, Yeah, less so
in pass blocking.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Let me ask you this, so not that the playoffs
will start today, but you know I'm a standing update guy. Yes,
tell me who has the worst offensive line among teams
that would currently have been in the playoffs?

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Uh? Okay, so it wouldn't be the Texans, Dolphins, Browns.
Who's let's see, Raiders, Hikes, Chargers are the Chargers in
the playoff race, the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Would be the number three seed.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Ironically enough, all right, there you go, Chargers are twenty seventh.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Okay, so that does give you a little bit of
food for thought that you can still have a very
subpar offensive line and yet still be considered a team
that is going to be a playoff contender.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Yeah, but I mean, going scrolling through this list, well,
you know, let's start from the top. Really, that's I mean,
it's not going to shock you. Colts are one, They're
very good, Broncos, Chiefs, Bills, Eagles, Rams. I mean, this
sounds like all the best teams in football, doesn't it.
Buccaneers seventh, Cardinals eighth, Patriots ninth, Detroit Lions tenth. That's funny,

(33:58):
it's all the best Cardinals of the eighth best offensive line.
But yet Kyler Murray is questionable to play this week.
Well that's because Jacob your sets better and the guy
you're good, Kyler. I don't think they're saying that your guy,
Drake May's been tearing it up.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
He has.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
He is my guy.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
By the way, I know you know funny the Patriots,
I want to say, Rossy, the opening line for them
in the Vegas folks was nine and a half or
ten wins this year. Yeah, we were all confused, right,
was because the schedule was ridiculously that's truly.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I know they're four and two early on they beat
the Bills. I mean that's legit.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
And Drake May is having I can take this personal
from fantasy football experience. He's having a wonderful season.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
I was wondering how long it would take you to
bring up the Toros. That's why I've said Drake May
is your guy.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
There, they had the great win against the Bills. There
are other wins though, are the Dolphins, Panthers and Saints.
Panthers are actually not that bad.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Oh, Panthers are mid Yeah, yeah, Saints are terrible and
the Dolphins could be Look looking for a new coach
before too long.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
And they're looking for a new coach, they just haven't
fired the guy yet.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
By the way, did you see now to attack of
Aloa after their loss last week to the Chargers? Basically,
and I'm gonna paraphrase on this, basically through a lot
of his teammates under the bus were not shown up
for player run meetings and joined up laid you see
yesterday he apologized for those things. Yes, Now do he

(35:28):
apologize because they weren't true?

Speaker 5 (35:30):
Orly?

Speaker 2 (35:30):
Did he apologize because that something should be kept in house?

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Let me ask your thought on that now Again, I
am of the firm belief that you should keep most
of your things in house. But if someone if a
question is directed to you about what is wrong with
the team, I guess you're telling me the player can't say, well,
we're not all in. I think showing up ross for

(36:01):
meetings late and not being fully best in those meetings
mean you're you're not all in?

Speaker 3 (36:09):
So are we supposed to just when someone players? I
got it.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
This is such a slippery slope on this, and I
apologize for him and haunts, but I just he's frustrated
and Frankly, sometimes the only way you can get to
your teammates is by saying, Hey, what your g I
guess the easy argument would be is if you got
a problem with me, just tell me and don't go
to hotel the microphone, I guess the argument.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
But he didn't name anybody. No, I don't think this
is that big of a deal. I mean, I guess
that's that's up for the Dolphins locker room to decide.
Well they did leadership was mister apologetic yesterday? But yeah,
he's like, yeah, we got guys showing up late. He
didn't name anybody, And guess what if you're all salty
about him saying that publicly, then don't be Yeah, if

(36:54):
you'd have showed up on time, nobody's gonna call you out.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
But the thing is he's not.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
He's not all that stellar like getting them the wins
for him to be justified as saying that, like you're
just a part of us as well.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
But yeah, I don't think he was necessarily pointing fingers.
I think he was just talking about leadership. I don't know.
I took it as when he was talking about leadership,
he meant himself too.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
But well, There's also another thing, guys that you have
to think about is how much should a team that
represents a city in which you, as the customer, want
to know what the product's about. How much should you
be forthcoming? I mean, if you go to your favorite

(37:36):
This is a terrible analogy written me for we go.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
If you go to a.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Terrible restaurant and you ask the manager what's wrong if
he says, I can't tell you. I mean, I'm the
one spending the money at your restaurant, and don't shouldn't
I never know the reason why. If I'm a Miami
Dolphins season ticket holder or go to the go to
the games and my team is underperforming and not holding
on the leads and looks ill prepared and make silly
penalties and doesn't and gets out of the gates, I mean,

(38:01):
all variety of reasons why the Dolphins are where they are.
I kind of want some transparency, but I think what
we've learned now is that sports today, even professional sports
and collegian sports, if you're getting any transparency from your
favorite football or basketball team or baseball team, you should
be considered lucky because most teams want to keep everything
in the house.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
I mean what he said. Again, if he's out there
like naming names and stuff like that, that would have
felt more egregious. But just saying guys are not getting
to the meetings on time. And then I don't know
did he clarify that he meant not players only meetings,
but like team meetings and like positional meetings and stuff
like that. I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Well, we can look it up, but I mean the
fact that he had to apologize to.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Begin with is kind of weird.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
Well, he said it was a leadership issue and that
automatically is going to go right to the coach, right.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
I thought he meant like leaders in the lockdow. No, No,
I don't think you're talking about the player. I think
the coaches. I made a mistake, and I'm owning up
with that right now. I talked to guys on the
team about it, talk to the leaders about it, and
they know my heart, they know what the that the
intent was right, no matter of the intent, But when
things get misconstrued or however the media wants to portray it,
that leaves avoid of silence and a lot of questions
for guys on our team. Now being one and five,

(39:17):
we talk about it a lot, all right, we got
to get they get this thing going. We got to
come and excited to go to work. Forget about the noise.
And I feel like I just added on that for
our guys. Uh, Ross, guys, there was nothing misconstrued. What
he said was he criticized team mates for being late
to players only games.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
About that maybe much finger pointing than you shouldn't have done.
When well, quite frankly, he's not very he hadn't been
very good.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Well, that whole thing is just a mess.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
It just is.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
All right, let's get the second hour of the Matt
Thomas shold Roll started in a matter of moments. Did
we celebrate last night to I mean Toronto? It was
kind of fun watching them beat up the Seattle Mariners? Right,
we felt a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Yes, I feel much better. Let me know the trains.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
We know that we we know that Toronto can win
Seattle and they can beat them badly. Seven one three
two one two five seven niney. If you want to
join our program today seven one three two one two
five seven nine zero, we've got I just don't get
it coming up in one half hour we have the
news at noon. Ross's Rotten Five. The Miami Dolphins make
the Rotten Five this week. Ross, I'm gonna go ahead

(40:24):
and say, yes they do.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (40:26):
But will they be the number one team in the
Rotten five? Hmm hmmm, twelve fifty you'll find out about that,
believe it or not. Today at one fifty seven one
three two one two five seven ninety seven one three

Thomas Show with Ross. Matt at Ross with you here

(40:51):
on Sports Talk seven ninety where we are at least
half of us are coming to you today from Atlanta, GA,
where tonight the Rockets will be taking on the Atlanta
Hawks to close out the preseason. Seven one three two
one two five seven nina us How you reach program?
Seven one three two one two five seven nine zero uh.

(41:11):
There is some rumors out on the NFL Instagram and
Twitter streets about a certain well known running back potentially
up for trade speculation. The Jets apparently are floating in
trade rumors Breece Hall, who will be a free agent
at the end of the season for the Jets, being

(41:32):
up for trades and there are hand teams that are
pere to be interested one of them sports are you
would be your beloved Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
It would make sense, especially if Joe Mixon is going
to be out for the year.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Apparently, uh, mister Hall went on his Instagram, which I
don't follow, and you should follow mine by the way.
That sports MT We're getting very close to three thousand quote.
They want me to down. But I got some to
stand for. That's sum some to stand for free, twenty
some some. Yeah, wearing camouflage pants. He's got sunglasses on

(42:15):
and he is walking into the Jets facility and with
a gate.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
So is it all right? Thanks for that fit? Check, Matt.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
I worn camouflage in years. I don't think I've ever
worn for camouflage.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
He's only twenty four years. Rate the drip, Matt, the
drip is drippy.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Okay, let's see. He then was asked by the New
York media about what exactly what his drip was during
this Instagram post. I haven't posted yet this season. It's
just a way for me to say I'm ready for
whatever comes my way, whether it's going to against an opponent,

(42:56):
whether it's in my life. For me, it's a football thing,
all right. I'm ready for whatever opponent is coming my way,
whatever the case may be. It's a game type of thing.
Does free twenty mean haull wand to trade? Nah, it's
referencing like being in the moment, being in the game.
Hall said, I'm ready for whatever. I don't believe that. Apparently,

(43:20):
former New England receiver Jelynn Polk posted free one on
Instagram and then five days later he was traded to
the New Orleans Saints. So when you put the free
in the number next to it your number, that usually
means a sign I want to get out. Teams that
are showing interest would be the Texans, the Los Angeles Chargers,
and the Kansas City Chiefs among those showing some interest.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Hmmm Chiefs. Yeah, Pachecko's been terrible and then they have
I don't understand how Kareem Hunts still has an NFL job,
but he just keeps scoring touchdowns for them that he does.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
I don't I watched that. How much of the Detroit
Kansas City game you see on Sunday night? I don't
think Candis State looks like a five hundred team. I
think think they've just taken on some incredibly difficult upon it.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Yeah, they're they're they're gonna be good and they're.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Sleeping on the Chiefs or being a disappointment. And again,
when the preseason started, name teams that could take a drop. Well,
when you're you know, fifteen to two to twelve and
five is a drop in theory, but it's not really
a drop. They're still makes them an elite team. So yeah,
the schedule is softening up. They're looking good. Uh, they're
getting Rashi Rice back this week as well. Right, Chiefs

(44:28):
are gonna be fine.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Now we mentioned earlier this week they're AFC betting favorites
alongside the Bills. Yeah, and if.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
We officially kicked the Ravens out of the AFC North
favorite chart after they lost last week, I mean that
that would be the favit.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
I would say no, because the AFC North. Yeah, well
that Steelers are foreign one. Now, yep, it's close. But
is is Lamar Jackson's gonna miss another week? Well, they're
off this week, aren't they. Oh that's right, Okay, and
then he's gonna come back for their next This is
their this is their upcoming schedule. Bears Dolphins, Vikings, Browns

(45:06):
Jets being.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Bears Dolphins, brown that's three and three, right.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
For the Ravens if Lamar Jackson is back.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
Yeah, Bears, Dolphins. I mean, they'd be favored in both
the US two.

Speaker 3 (45:21):
Yeah. Been at the Vikings, that's winnable, at the Brown
eminently winnable. Home for the Jets, home for the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Oh, forget what I said five and one.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
Yeah, I was like, what maybe maybe I just have
seen so much of your tilt. I mean and again, uh,
yeah they were even when they were playing well.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Even yeah it wasn't it wasn't Chris.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
But they I mean they lost the Bills forty one
to forty in a crazy comeback, right, they lost to
shootout with the Lions, and then they were they were
losing to Kansas City. Yeah, they didn't beat Jackson went down. Yeah,
they wouldn't have won that game even with Lamar Jackson. Yeah,
but yeah, they're their losses are to the Bills, Lions,
and Chiefs while Lamar Jackson was healthy.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
So so in the NBA, if you are a pending
for an agent, you can kind of and in baseball
for that matter, too, you can kind of control your
own destiny. Maybe not so much in baseball, but definitely
in the NBA, if you go tell your general manager,
I want to go play there, they usually are acquiesced
to that. Usually can you do that in the NFL
if you're a free agent coming up, No, I and

(46:28):
then what do you give? I mean, look, the Texans
we know for their history, have ninety five thousand, fifth
and six round picks. I mean that's what Nick Assiria
lives for.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
Yeah, if it's gonna cost you like a fifth, sixth
swab or something cheap like that, I mean, I don't
know what the breeze hall. I guess I'll have to
look up his contract situation.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
All I will say is this, not knowing exactly what
every pick the Texans have left, not knowing exactly what
the Jets would want if the Texans are going to
go win and get a playoff spot in this super
super competitive AFC.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
If I was a Texans fan and if I.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
Saw Nick Aseeio at the barbershop or at the grocery store,
I tell him to go get him, would you not?
I mean tell me that's not a no brainer, especially
if you don't if you can get him for less
than I mean.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
I look, you can't.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
You can't trade up a round pick, especially for a
guy that's gonna be a pending free agent. But you
are you telling me you're really going to be satisfied
with wood?

Speaker 3 (47:29):
He Mark's a rookie, I will say. I mean, Breis
Hall has been good, but it's not like he's been
unstoppable or some crazy He's never rushed for a thousand yards.

Speaker 2 (47:42):
But he'd be automatically better than anything.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
The text be me he'd be a rental I wonder
you know what, Like I said, if depending on what
it would cost you, depending on what your cap spaces,
which I believe it's very limited for the Texans, and
the fact that I mean, you've already got a glut
of running backs right now. You're still keeping Dariol Goodbawa
and British Brooks and whoever else on this roster Damian Pierce.
So obviously Pierce would probably be the first one out,

(48:06):
but you'd have to figure something out there. You'd it
would cost you. Breese Hall hasn't been like this unstoppable
rushing force. And do you feel like you're good enough?
With Nick Chubb looking a little bit better and coming
off of bye week as he getting he looked like
he had some pepin his step this past weekend, that

(48:27):
passing game of the week before against.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
The right back in early septemb when they last played a.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
Games sorry, say ten fifteen days ago, whatever it was
at this point. Yeah, I don't know, So I'm not
gonna call it a no brainer, but I mean I
would do it. I think Breesehall is better than your
current options. That's the bottom line.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
I think you would get a little energy boost by
bringing you here. And I'll even say this, I would
say even more than a little energy boost, because that
would give me the interpretation that my general manager understand
that we need a little You know, there are sometimes
when in baseball ross when teams don't make trades, it
kind of sullens the lock of the clubhouse. Yeah, I

(49:09):
don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:09):
I don't know if the NFL works that way, because
I wonder they probably like Chubbs.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
How much gas is in the tank, I guess is
the question.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
Yeah, he looks a little bit better, and he's gonna
be another week removed from the jury is maybe That's
what I'm trying to chalk up him looking a little
A couple of things, what he marks had a great
week and all of a sudden. Nick Chubb's like, yeah,
he's feeling fine.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
You're all good. Funny how that works? Sit Chass on
a bench, How you do, Garret?

Speaker 3 (49:37):
What you did?

Speaker 10 (49:38):
Well?

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Let me look at their PFF grades. I'm just kidding,
all right, JJ Watt.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
So, I don't know, I think using anything in terms
of Breis Hall in that Jets offense, which is horrendously bad,
would be the numbers would be skewed a little bit
that I want to know what I think Breshall could
be around a team that actually can put some points
up on the board. Now, he wouldn't have a great
offensive line in front of them, but we've seen other

(50:11):
running backs that haven't had great offensive lines have some success.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Yeah, last two years, Breshall's played seventeen and sixteen games,
and yeah he's he's averaging four and a half yards
per carry.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Basically, I'm not even saying Breescee Hall's the answer. I'm like,
I'm not trying to be the president of the Breeshall
fan call. I'm just saying that I like the fact
that I'm hearing the Texans are kind of looking going,
you know what, I don't think we've got it solved. Here.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
I think they know that, but I wonder if they
how much confidence they have in their guys. And Nick Cassiera,
to me, is a guy that does he come across
as the guy that feels like I can pull this off,
that I can with my guys, be a little risk taker,
or I want to keep it safe and conservative that
I know that me even if I went and got

(50:55):
bres Hall, I may not be able to outslug Kansas
City in the playoff game or the Chargers or stuff
like that. Yeah, of course Joe Mixon is factor number one.
And then you have to wonder, Yeah, how much does
how much does Nick Cassario say, this is my draft pick,
this is my guy that I brought in, and I'm
going to back my guys.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
Let me give you a more generic statement. You tell
me if you want to do agree or disagree if
we don't see Joe Mixon this year and they don't
go get an offense another another running back. Did did
Nick Cassio do a disservice of the team?

Speaker 3 (51:28):
I don't think so. Right now, Chris Chubb in marks
is not not okay, it's not lightning and thunder in
the backfield right now. But it's not bad. It's not
Jamiir Gibbs and David Sonic and knuckles, but it's it's
it's not bad. I'm actually less concerned about it than
I was week one. Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
Seven one three two two five seven ninety. For those
of you are Texans fans, do you like the energy
about hearing the Texans being talked about as a team
that's looking for additional running back health. I would say
if I was in that camp, I'd be pretty excited
about it.

Speaker 5 (52:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
Should should they get them? Let us know or anybody
for that man? I I I do. I I will
say this. I do think they need an overhaul, not overall.
They need an extra seven.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Devon a chan people have floated as a possible.

Speaker 2 (52:13):
Now you say that, I am a thousand percent on
that thousand percent seven one three two one two five
seven doin matted ross with you. We've got I just
don't get it coming up at about ten minutes from
now seven one three two one two five seven nintie

(52:34):
seven one three two one two five seven nine zero,
let's get to I just don't get it coming up
at about ten minutes from now. The news at noon
and uh, the Toronto Blue Jays have a chance even
if the American League Championship Series where they win. Today,
biscuit is where it sound seveniny biscuit?

Speaker 10 (52:50):
What do you got, cougar Manuler Man. Let me say
this man is far as it takes the go. If
you can upgrade the team, you gotta look into it,
you know. So if you Dean Breese Hall upgrade and
you don't have to give up much, you know, then
you have to look into it. You know, he is

(53:13):
gonna be.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
The thing it is is if you have legitimately three
teams or more fighting for a guy that on the
streets they find out that Breese Hall is available, do
you get into a bidding war? And then the question,
I guess piscoally would be is do you want to
get into a bidding war for a guy who's gonna
be a freeze at the end of the season.

Speaker 10 (53:30):
And that's where that's what's probably gonna heat from gett
there was, uh, how much you know we're not talking
about like you Derrick Hendry, you know what I mean?
So how much your upgrade is it? But let me
let me say this man about the tour things and
this is one of the things that's always Uh, I
guess falls I just.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Don't get.

Speaker 10 (53:52):
What doesn't matter how to is playing for what he
said was true? You know, you see what I'm saying everybody, Well,
how are you gonna say that because he ain't playing good?

Speaker 5 (54:00):
No, But if he's.

Speaker 10 (54:01):
Telling the truth, then that's standing on that.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
No, you just need more credit with the people that
because you're you're That's just anything any any dynamic, like
if you're calling up, like if you're you're heading in
Thanksgiving food and and saying something wasn't good and you
didn't help out at all, I mean, you're gonna have
more fingers pointing out on you if you're part of
the problem. Yeah, it's that's just natural in any group dynamic.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Well, the thing I think what you're trying to say, biscuits,
he's the quarterback. He's going to naturally be I mean,
the quarterback always speaks after every game. I mean, so
he is the de facto spokesman. So I think, uh,
if you do have to back it up. So if
he was, if he's having a terrible season, you have

(54:48):
to you don't even utter what he what he said,
So let me ask you this it is to attack
of a loa having a terrible season for the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 10 (54:57):
Yes, but my point is mad there's two things could
be right. He could be playing bad, but you could
be having some cancers in the locker room and he
just calling it out. Now, if you want to say
he should have kept it in the locker room, that's
a different argument, But to me, you can't. My point
is the truth is the truth. You know what I

(55:17):
mean if I'm telling you know, if I'm saying something
that's wrong, Okay, that's fine, then you could say that.
But if I'm if you ain't showing up the own
things on time, and I'll call you out. But you're saying,
but you threw two intercession. What they got to they
don't correlate to me.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
Well, because in the times, somebody is gonna put criticism
on anybody, it's got to come from a place where
people are going to respect what they're saying and they're
gonna listen to them. Like, yeah, if Jeff Green starts
calling out Kevin Durant, he's gonna be like, man, shut up,
you're you're Jeff Green. Like it's just it's it has
to come from a place of authority, and it doesn't come.
That's because that's just how that's human nature. That's why.

(55:55):
Because I mean, I understand it doesn't make it a
lot of logic, but it comes. There's a difference between
a leader and somebody who is performing, criticizing the team
or criticizing others, and somebody who is playing poorly and
costing them games.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
Two. His numbers this year, by the way, hold on
real quick to his numbers.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
He's throwing.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
He has seventy percent completion percentage, twelve are and thirteen yards.
He has eleven touchdowns, seven interceptions. Now a couple of
interceptions are our deflections. I've seen him personally. He's been
sacked thirteen times. His quarterback rating is ninety two point one,
so it's mid he's been.

Speaker 3 (56:33):
He's been, but those numbers in twenty twenty five. I mean,
especially the offense they're they're running where it's not like
it's you know, two gunslinger Tua. It's a lot of checkdowns,
a lot of screen game for devon a Chan and
stuff like that. He's not he's not being asked to be.
I mean, like a do everything quarterback.

Speaker 10 (56:55):
Right, I guess the point I'm getting too wrong. Let's
just take two out of Matthew brought up Green. I'm
just saying, if somebody, if somebody's saying something and it's
I'm gonna check to see what they said, if that's
factual and actually true.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
I'm not worried about you.

Speaker 10 (57:14):
You you're saying ross, well, he if you're not even
good standing, then it doesn't have any marriage.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
It's like you're on a group project and you're criticizing
the project. You're like, man, this project sucks. Like you
weren't even here and you didn't even show up for
any of the meetings or didn't even help at all.

Speaker 10 (57:28):
But the project still could suck.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
Yeah, it might still suck, but nobody's gonna listen to you.
You're gonna just gonna fall on deaf ears. For criticism
to be taken to heart, it has to come from
the right place, right, don't you.

Speaker 10 (57:43):
I'm saying you it is he maybe, but that's an
ad hominem fallacy. It's just I mean, you know what,
packing the person instead of packing attacking what they.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Saying I understand, I understand has more relevance than right
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
I'm just saying, but for people to take it to heart,
it has to come from from a better place of authority.
It's just that's just how. That's just that's just how. Yeah,
that's how. Come on, you don't understand that's not I mean,
I don't like I said.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
I like the mirror. I like the fact that Tuist
said what he said because it needed to be said.
And I don't necessarily even disagree that what he said
because of the fact that he is the quarterback, he
is the defective spokesperson. But I'm taking I'm taking the
Miami Dolphins, uh example out of the picture. If you
have a guy at your office that is performing, uh,

(58:29):
if sales are down twenty three percent, you get a
junior salesperson who hasn't sold something in six months, is
telling nobody to step it up. Yeah, you got to shut.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
Yeah, maybe everybody needs to step it up, but it's
coming from them. Yeah, that comes from the right place.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
You can't wrap your head around this. Go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 10 (58:45):
If you have a last point here, if you you're
gonna Sendari. You said about somebody at the office or whatever.

Speaker 11 (58:51):
And he's not doing well.

Speaker 10 (58:53):
He didn't say step it up. He said, Hey, man,
you you're stealing money from the company or something. You know,
I'm saying something that has a factual merit, not opinion hated.
You know, it's not something about opinion or whatever. That's
my point. You got it to me. We make the
make something wrong when we don't listen to what it's

(59:14):
said and stare concentrated on the person who said it.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
All right, thank you. Yeah, we're we're we're we understand that.
I understand his point. Yeah, we're talking in circles here
at this point. But let's put it. I understand what
he's saying. He's saying the criticism is correct, and that's true.
But that's just human nature that nobody's gonna listen to
you if you're if you're out there throwing a bunch
of picks and not helping the offense either.

Speaker 4 (59:36):
Well, I mean, I'll put it to a sports respective
for people like the agreement biscuit.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
If you're on a let's say a tract.

Speaker 4 (59:42):
Team, right, and you got one of your people athletes,
they are running, you know, at practice, and he's doing
the worst that everybody. You go to team meeting on
Friday and he goes, yeah, we need to pick it
up more. Y'all not showing up that next it's like, brother,
you know he was drinking up with.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
That, you know what I mean? Like, I gotta be honest.
I don't think Aaron Holliday is gonna runto Kevin Durant
tell I to do his business.

Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
I mean, I'm just gonna tell you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
That right now.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
Yeah, and two isn't necessarily apples to apples because Tua
is the quarterback in each but he's just not performing well.
And that's it makes it's it's not necessarily that it
should make the criticism invalid, but it makes it easier
for other people who are getting criticized to dismiss because
nobody likes being criticized. So if you're going to be criticized,
you want it to be constructive and you want to

(01:00:26):
be come from a place of of authority and someone
you respect. And if if those people aren't respect and
IM not saying nobody's respecting too, I don't know that,
but it's just easy for people to ignore and point fingers.
If somebody like Tua who's not performing well is the
one making the criticism, well.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
My guess is that when he went in that locker room,
and the word traveled that he was saying the stuff.
If Tua is thrown for four hundred yards a game
and leaving it on the field and they're losing forty
two thirty five and he's got a six to one
touchdown interception ratios, not taking the sack.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
That they're going damn to his right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
But when you're having a mid season and everybody's not performing,
no one is performing above expectations except for a chan right, Really,
when you think about.

Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
It, yeah, pretty much. Yeah, Jaylen Wantad has been good
since Tybree Kill got hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Yeah, but yeah, again, I I think too uh gets
gets a little bit of a little bit of a
buffer because of the fact the quarterback has to be
the de facto team leader. The quarterback, he gets interviewed
more than any other player of anybody on that football team.
It's the quarterback that gets that has to answer the

(01:01:43):
questions from on behalf of the team. He was spoking
speaking of frustration, he's just probably when he said what
he said was accurate, like like like a biscuit said,
and he didn't he didn't provide anything that was false.
He didn't lie.

Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
He didn't name names.

Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
He didn't name names, but he said, like the guy's
in my locker room that are showing to Blake for
player only meetings.

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
That was the truth. But even if you it is
the truth, sometimes you don't want to hear it and
you open yourself up somebody.

Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
Well, for him to apologize, it must have mean like
the whole team could like that had a good conversation
because after that happened, like for him to come and
be okay that I disagree.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
You shut your mouth up exactly what they said, and
they said, go out there and apologize, and we'll let
you back in this room.

Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
We won't short seat your bed on the road.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Next your week, you'll be looking for your underwear while
we're practicing. It'll be in a in a in an
area that you don't want to go good. Yeah, No,
there was that was probably not well received. When your
team is one in five, there's no man, can we
can we talk this out?

Speaker 8 (01:02:43):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
There was Under that, there was probably a lot of yelling.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Rossie, what don't you get in your life? You? I
feel like it's been what we've talked about every week
since we've started this segment.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
You and your food habits.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
Oh, you'd been so proud of me yesterday. I almost
took a picture.

Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
In no response to the tweet I tagged you in
about the biscuits and gravy. Yeah she was That looked nasty.

Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
Oh all right, it looked Come on, she was putting
in products into that little pan that works just like
I'm not even look at her gross.

Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Hey, whoa.

Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
Hold on? Her body was built on biscuits and gravy.
Come on, no, come on, you're.

Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
Coming after me, mom making biscuits and gravy. Wow, that's foul.
You need you need to dial up a Friday Sorry
for that one.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Oh right, maybe I'll apologize to borrow the time.

Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
All she put in there was sausage, salt, pepper, oil
and shortening and then evaporated milk and water. That's it.
It looks good. Those biscuits look good too.

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
That's a pretty good line. My body was built on
biscuits and gravy. That's pretty good. I'll have just give
myself credit for that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
She didn't want.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Yeah, a great man, all right, Hey, what don't you

there something we can help you with? The next half

your life coaching skills? In that first caller? We have
a fantastic What do you mean? I mean, I don't
think he got any result to his life. He's still
at the hospital.

Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
I don't think any I don't think a five minute
phone call is going to say that young man's life.

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Well, if you want to be a life coach, you
gotta make some split decisions.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
Pretty quiet, Okay? Well I told him to seek therapy,
and I think it's the best advice I could have
given him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
Well, all right, ladies and generator seven five sevenins Sorry,
who is what? Look if you look you've got time.
I mean, the show's only four hours. You could pick
up a second shift as a life coach.

Speaker 3 (01:05:30):

gotta watch games and pre and post game shows are
starting up Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
All right, So you're saying you won't have time.

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
About eighty pre imposts a year, but combine between ashtros
and rockets.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
I was thinking more like ninety. But that's a you know,
we'll we're about that later, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Uh, Rossie, anything you don't get in your life, we

don't you get? Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
You know, I've been thinking about this all week.

Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
I don't understand, like with the big like ESPN and
and all that stuff, when they have a whole panel
of people, right, yeah, they just have one person on
a zoom call, just on a big screen talking to them.
I don't Is that because they're traveling I don't call
cheap so okay, so they're just trying to cut okay,
But that's I don't get that. That's why why wouldn't
you be at the office, like you can be paid

(01:06:19):
this much money. I don't know that makes it, doesn't
make sense because it happens not just with ESPN our
first take, it happens with all these like big even
like news.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
I don't know. I just don't understand that. Well, most
of it is because they're traveling, but some of it
is if you know, if they can do a zoom
call and save money by not flying the person to
this to the city, Uh, that saves them a lot
of money.

Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
So that should be a resolution for you. I wasn't
expecting that one is. I just don't get it. I
think it's pretty easy, save money, save time, set them
not put up a hotel, all that stuff. I got one, now,
Oh you do, Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
I don't get all these names that are being floated
with this Penn State job. I mean, look, Penn State's
a good program and they have some history, but the
recruiting base in the fan, I mean, people are talking
about Mike Elko and then talking about there's a lot
of uneducated college football people talking about how Penn State

(01:07:22):
has more money than A and m I'm like, are.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
You sure about that?

Speaker 13 (01:07:24):
Boss?

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
And Nick Saban is a name that has been floated.
I mean, come on, Joel Klatt mentioned Nick it's all
the national guys.

Speaker 8 (01:07:33):
And.

Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
I mean, I don't get it. Penn State's good.

Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
But well, Colin Coward yesterday on his podcast was talking
about how much money Penn State has.

Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
They have money to burn.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
They just spent forty five million dollars to upgrade I
think their stadium.

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
They've just spent forty nine million dollars to let go
of James Franklin. Yeah, so they're not worried about money.

Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
They haven't won a national championship since win the early nineties. Yeah,
nineteen eighty six, they've won two in their history, eighty
two and eighty six. Well, I I don't sess. What
you're saying is you don't get why Penn State's a

(01:08:21):
great job.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Is that what you're trying to know? I'm saying, I don't.
I don't think it's an elite and elite job. People
are mentioning literally Nick Saban and like prying away Mike
Elko from uh to me, it's like, okay, it's maybe
it's a slight upgrade to Arkansas, especially with James Franklin
what he's done, right, but historically it's not.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Uh. Well, but my Joe Paterno was luxendary coach Matt
Ruhle in Nebraska. I mean, I've put Nebraska in Penn
State about in the same bucket as far as history,
well as far as history, but I don't But who
cares about history in twenty twenty five. It's about who's
got the cash right now.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
I mean, okay, well, I don't know what everybody's in
al budget is. Well, I mean, yeah, I put Nebraska
Penn State a head of Texas Tech, but they have
a bunch of nil money that kind of yeah, but
I'm just talking about prestige.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Yeah, okay, so on its face, Well, see, the thing
of it is that we we since we don't know
the nil budget, we don't know what job is better
because right now and realistically, is Texas Tech a better
job than Clemson because Texas Tech has got more nil
money than Clemson does? Are we going are we judging

(01:09:25):
schools now based off of nil budgets?

Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
I think Texas Tech has the number one twenty seven
class right now. By the way, well, if we're doing that,
then we have no Then we can't use anything in
terms of.

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
A historical perspective because there are some like for instance,
Oklahoma stake I was just there last weekend Rossie. That's
a school that wins eight nine games every year, right
occasionally finds themselves in a Big twelve championship game. Ish, yeah,
but I mean eight nine waking up that job is

(01:09:57):
not nearly as appealing right now because they don't where they're.

Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
He's coming from.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
The up and coming schools and il wise are just
using Texas schools, Texas Tech and SMU, not what you
would think of as thoroughbreds when it came to football legacy.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
All right, one more quick also, this is more of
like an addendum to the Penn State. I don't get it, Okay,
I think their uniforms suck like this too. They're they're
this like prestige. Yeah, it's it's plain. It looks like
it looks like they're filming a commercial for foot powders.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Like I don't get it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
It looks like regular ass uniforms with no logo.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Just it's it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:36):
I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Dark blue uniforms, white helmets, and when they're on the
road they wear white wiremen. Go to raratomy, you get
the football there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
It looks like the generic we just put slap together
a team of of misfits in a movie where we
can we have our a low budget movie. We can't
afford logos.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
There's no stripes, there's no logos. There's nothing distinctive about it.
There's no golden doma, the helmets, there's no the Buckeyes
little things they have in the back. I don't get it.
I don't get Penn State period. But don't say that
around there, because that's what they drew. A hundred and
five thousand closed with their eyes closed. Yeah, yeah, I'm

(01:11:16):
telling yeah, that's actually not terrible. That was a really
good ross. I think I'm gonna have to just piggyback
off yours. I just don't get the mystique of Penn State. Yeah,
Gail is with us, Gil, what don't you get my friend? Okay?

Speaker 11 (01:11:30):
Or I don't get the fact it.

Speaker 7 (01:11:33):
Love Sean.

Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
I didn't hear him.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Hello, Yeah, go ahead, Yeah we're having phone issues. Christ
of course you do.

Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
Yeah, but no, Hello, say it again.

Speaker 11 (01:11:49):
You can talk, all right, I said, I don't get
the fact of the morn.

Speaker 8 (01:11:54):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:11:54):
I think he's asking about Sean. I mean, yeah, yeah,
we're not trying to folks, we are not doing this
the I heartly. We got the order from uh from
iHeartMedia cut the call.

Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
No, we didn't do that. We didn't do that. That's
not at on a regular basis. Yeah, I mean, if
you've been listening to show in a length of time,
you know that we have the best calls in the world.
They can't get on so uh, Gil, what was on
our decision? Uh, it was not even done at the
local level, to be brutally on us with you, and
we missed Sean.

Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
Yet it wasn't it wasn't even a Houston call. It
was above Houston. Look, if you look around corporate culture
around you, look just google corporate layoffs and you don't
forget about billion hits.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
It's just leave it at that. I don't know, Yeah,
well yeah, if yeah, we didn't know it was that
performance base. It was strictly uh financial and well and
that's as much as we can say. And we miss
Sewan and hope he does very well and he's always
gonna be a friend of ours.

Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
Peering into story.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Eleven and if our I don't get why our phones
still don't work on the regular even though we put
in I don't know five hundred and fifty eight tickets.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
So just a little transparency we have to now figure
out with it and with the ip A justice, with
people's numbers according to the program we use and all
that stuff. So they're trying to figure it out on
the corporate if you're just this is the only station
that's happening too, so really, yeah, so this is this
is not just Houston.

Speaker 3 (01:13:21):
But we're also the only ones that take live calls
up here all day, right.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Yes, but I think it's in other city. It's not.

Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
This is the only sing in Texas that happens. But
this isn't happening all across the country.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Oh it is? Or isn't it? Is? It is?

Speaker 3 (01:13:34):
Okay? Yeah, I think it's our internet shorts out and
our phones are based on the Internet and it's going
to happen. It's like when you're people who work from home,
know this, you're on the internet. It goes out for
a few minutes and then that's just how it is.
I think that's what it is. They're trying to blame carriers,
They're trying to blame all this. It's just the fact
that we have internet phones. To me, but whatever, we

(01:13:58):
miss you regular phones. What happened a good old fashioned
phone line.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Miss shall we missed phone?

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
You know, Matt Thomas on a call with an ISD
in line that that can hold his voice. Oh I SDM.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
People are like, what is that that is? I'm so
we're all doing radio with the actual phones. Like, just
pick it up.

Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Hey, We said that was called the pots line. We
would like when we you know, when we go to
like Tyed Brewing or wherever else. Yeah, we would we
would connect on a phone line.

Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
M hm.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
And sometimes you would have to do you would have
to dial it with like Star sixty eight or something
because if it had if it had call waiting and
somebody called the phone line, it would knock us off
the air.

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Well, I can go one better. When we used something
I was doing college basketball and football for the very
first time in the mid ninety we had to use
a teleic system that required we had to have three
real life live phone lines three lines three lines, two
to transmit and one to get the receive of the audio.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Back from the station. It's a different time.

Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
I mean technology is good. I mean, look I'm on
the internet here. We're doing good here. But you know,
the phone on.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
Any want to tell you blipped a couple times, but
it's sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Wait a minute, I'm on the hard ware. I can't
blip on the herd. I guess you can have You
can blip on the hardware, can't you.

Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
Well, you know, I'm just saying nothing's part. I'm saying
nothing's perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Nothing is except you, the audience. You, the audience are perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Gell.

Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
We love you and Gil.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
We were not trying to We didn't know. We didn't know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
We didn't hang up on Gil because I think Gill
was thinking we were trying to hang up. Yeah, you
said you don't get it. We explained it not our call.
Corporate layoffs, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
Seven one three two one two five seven, naty seven
one three two one two five seven on every of
the News at noon coming up. We also have Rotten
five at twelve fifty Believe It or Not Today at
one fifty ross.

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
What is today's edition of Believe It or Not? Anybody
Die Not today?

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
Actually No eleven fifty three a short segment left here
on this hour of the program. We got two hours
left to go, which will game will Beeat to the
News at noon, Rotten five and Believe It or Not
all between now and to two o'clock Rockets will take
on the Atlanta Hawks in the fourth and final preseason game,

(01:16:17):
and a lot of rumors around here in Atlanta the
Tree Young could be on the move, and ironically enough,
the Rockets are being considered one of those teams. I really,
in my heart of hearts, ross believe they're going to
give every opportunity because again, they don't have much flexibility
with trades and dollar amouths at this point without giving

(01:16:38):
up some commodities in return to go get a guy
like that. I don't know if there's enough the Hawks
would want from the Rockets that Tree Young could all
of a sudden be a Houston Rocket before the end
of the season.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
Yeah, I'm confused on what exactly as far as draft
assets that the Rockets hold.

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
You wouldn't even live players too, I would assume.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Yeah, of course, because especially in the NBA, you got
to match the money, which I think it's a great rule,
got to give to get. Yeah, And I don't know
exactly where the where the Rockets contracts would line up
and all that type of stuff. That's that's above my head. Yeah,
And I mean, we love Trey Young as far as

(01:17:17):
offensively he is he is great number one assist o man,
great shooter, more.

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
Volume than I thought he would be. Oh really, three
lest year? Okay, what about career that I don't have
in front of me?

Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Okay, let me look, but god, yeah, I thought he
was better than that thirty seven the year before. Look
like Yoyo's up and down. He's had a year of
thirty eight and thirty seven, but career thirty fifty two.

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Hmmm. I would have thought he was a better than that.
Four time All Star.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
I get rid of him. He sucks.

Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
He had one hundred and sixty four more assists than
Nikolai jokicch did.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
I'm kidding, by the way, Uh yeah, last three seasons
ten plus assists assist Champ. That's the title, whatever you
call it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
M hmm.

Speaker 7 (01:18:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Guys that have scored twenty four or more points in
a career and a season and dished out eleven or
more assists Trey Young, James Harden, Tiny Archibald, and Oscar Robertson.
That's the list. That's the list. Wow, of twenty four
and eleven. Now, those are just kind of weird numbers.

(01:18:26):
That's still gonna put him in that category. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Tiny Ultimar al Archibald ends up on all these lists
by the way he's balling back in the day, I think.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
We would have well, you know the guy that I
wish we could have seen play in person. There are
probably two or three guys I would have seen him, Plerson,
and they're the obvious ones. I would have loved to
have seen Bill Russell play, because when you hear of
the greatest defensive player in the history of the NBA,
the Bill Russell's name is the number one name it's
brought up. Okay, I would have loved to have seen

(01:18:59):
Oscar Robertson playing. The guy walked into it. He is.
He is the modern day UH Russell Westbrook right, basically
triple double guy kind yeah, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
The triple doubles for sure, but definitely bigger than Russell Westbrook.
And I don't know exactly what his game was.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
I seen.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
I saw like hardwood classics, but it was like the
end of his career when he was playing with UH
with Kream Abdul Jabar, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Yeah, I wonder what was he a good Was Oscar
considered a good shoot? I mean he'd score double digits
obviously he did something right.

Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
Yeah, let me pull it to Oh yeah, he was
getting thirty a game back in the day, shooting around
fifty percent from the field.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
Back in the day. They would love to have been
on ABC like once a week. Now there's like six
channels are watching NBA.

Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
And Oscar Robinson and the Cincinnati Ryles in town.

Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Look at Oscar go against the veteran Bob KUSI yeah,
Oscar still lives. That's good.

Speaker 3 (01:20:02):
Yes, eighty six years young.

Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
He's firing, he whispered, I can still take you all
the dribble.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
Russ with his walker.

Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Yeah. By the way, I was looking at Twitter the
for you tab. You know, Pat Beverley's got his little
podcast going. Would you do now? I didn't do anything.
He was like, Russ is one of the top three
point guards ever, and I was like, come Pat.

Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
Pat Beverly. He also said the Las Vegas Aces could
beat an NBA team. Well, he changed his mind, he said, well,
he hadn't changed him, but he said.

Speaker 2 (01:20:41):
They could beat the last five guys off of a
Charlotte or Washington. No, no, no, no, no, and no.
The answer is no. First of all, size matters. They're
going to just dominate you by about four to five
inches at every position. Yeah, there's minimum. The ball is
different size, the speed of the game is significantly different.

(01:21:03):
And look, WNBA has its place. It is the w
NBA is in its best spot ever. But we have
to stop them in that. We have to stop trying
to compare women in men's sports. They should be appreciated
for what they are. For instance, I'll give you a
small example on on my personal side, the men's game
of volleyball is ferocious. It's it's bump, it's set, and

(01:21:28):
it's hit the ball as hard as humanly possible to
cancuss the guy owners out.

Speaker 5 (01:21:31):
Of the boy.

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Yes, okay, that's that's men's volleyball. Women's volleyball doesn't have
some of that, but it's still a sport. It's an art.
It's got much more for craft. It's yeah, it's a
Women's volleyball is significantly more entertaining than men's volleyball. And
I mean, I might be biased, but I will guarantee
ross if you and I sat down like I watch

(01:21:54):
them during the Olympics, I watch both.

Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
I like them both. See.

Speaker 2 (01:21:57):
I am so out of the men's volleyball because it
and it's just bump, set, crush.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Oh yeah, those dudes are athletic and violent and jump high.

Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Yeah, it's horrible, but the average volley is like you know,
rally is like five seconds or volleyball. You we get
women going, you got girls diving all over the floor,
you got all these great acrobatic moves. You got blocks
that are are put back and back into play. Yeah,
I almost say it right now, women's volleyball five hundred
times better than.

Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
Five hundred five hundred times agree with. I would disagree,
but I like both. Fine.

Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
Yeah, see I am so anti.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
I can agree with five hundred times five hundred times.
I'll give one hundred and fifty times four times.

Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
Buy some my girl play. But when you watch, do
you want women's volleyball? It's yeah, they're so good. Yeah,
you can understand the game better. It's well too.

Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
That's right. All right, let's get to the news at noon.

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Here, Relly should we play Oh Canada?

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
We need oh?

Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
Speaking of a quickened note with you in Atlanta, Matt,
Outcast will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame coming up uh very soon and he will
be inducted. They will be inducted. I'm sorry, of course
Outcast met your would that you say your second favorite
rap duel up outside of you? Gk uh?

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
You know who my favorite rap group is of all time?

Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
Who's that? The Fat Boy?

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
I thought you ugk with Bunby.

Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Now he knows he's got a special place in my heart.
But he knows the Fat Boys the Ogs.

Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Okay, well huh unpopular opinion, UGK and Outcasts are much
better than the Fat Boys, Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown and
j I d inducting outcasts into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame. Who also going in besides them? I
don't even know. I just saw that on Twitter and
you were Atlanta, so it get popped up in my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:24:37):
By the way, we're gonna play two Atlanta song, two
Georgia songs in the next two segments here, let's kind
of get ourselves in the moved for tonight, okay, and
be a tilt wonderful.

Speaker 3 (01:24:48):
Hold on, I'm trying to find this year's classic, and
now that you know you got me curious, it will be.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
What the heck is this?

Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
You do the news, I'll find me for you. Oh sorry,
we don't want a grinding halt again.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Yeah, that's true, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
Major League Baseball action yesterday, the Blue Jays defeating the
Mariners thirteen to four, as the Blue Jays come roaring
back in the American League Championship Series, every team winning
on the road. Will that continue today? We can only hope.
So Brewer is taking on the Dodgers. They're at a
minus one to seventy five with Tyler Glass now pitching

(01:25:30):
for the Los Angeles Dodgers. And then the nightcap will
be the Blue Jays and Mariners. That'll be a seven
to thirty three start on FS one. Max Scherzer getting
the start for the Blue Jays taking on Luis Castillo.
It's gonna be a tight one. Seattle at a minus
one twenty on this one.

Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Uh, go blue Jays. Let's go Blue Jays.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
Please go Brew Crew.

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
Bah wait, I can't see that any of these are.
All the stories I'm seeing on the internet are all
months old. They've happen to be announced.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Well, maybe Big Boy was just posting a maybe this
is fake? Big Boy of course in Outcast with Andre
three thousand, Matt posted this on his Twitter, and I
guess it's fake because yeah, I don't see this anywhere
else either.

Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
Okay, we usually do it and believe it or not
on all things about members of the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
So that's true. Were they already in?

Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
I'm sorry, I'll shut up. Yes, yeah, news, Yeah, I'm sorry.
They're being inducted this year. I wassly very curious. This
is making no sense.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
All right, Let's move on to the news at noon.

Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
How about Keith and Murray's extending with the Kings. Now
we're gonna skip that. I'm skipping that one. I mean,
that's NBA interesting, but it's a show, all right, man.
How about this one? A lawsuit is seeking to allow
the top high school wide receiver to profit from NIL
in Ohio. Jamiir Brownie is the country's top wide receiver

(01:26:56):
in twenty twenty seven, centerpiece of a lawsuit filed the
State Court and Ohio seeking to allow him to benefit
from his name, image, and likeness while in high school.

Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
I'm here in Texas, I believe.

Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
Yes, Ohio High School's Athletic Association prohibits athletes from profiting
from their NIL. Filed Wednesday in the Court of Common
Pleas in Franklin County. This Ohio wide receiver, it's going
to shock you who he's committed to matt Ohio State.
That is correct. Apparently has, according to the complaint, has

(01:27:30):
an earning power of one hundred thousand dollars per year
at a high school level.

Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
Yes, he goes to Ohio State National brand top number
one team in the country that probably jumps fivefold, right.

Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
No more more than that. Yeah, depending twenty four sweetheart
Deal is gonna get lawsuit filed by his mother, Jasmine,
and they are trying to get an NIL allowed in Ohio. Io.

Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Well, somebody's got to do it, right, somebody asked me
the first one.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Yes, I think it's thirty states right now, plus the
District of Columbia allowing name, image and likeness deals. And
Texas is actually on this list I'm seeing is on
a list of not a lot. But I thought you
could in Texas as you said.

Speaker 2 (01:28:24):
Well, I saw a story on Channel two saying and
again local news conscrucive uf up unfortunately, but they did
a whole series about how high school kids can properly
get the NIL.

Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
So, look, it's all a waste.

Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
I love my Houston Cougar's Ross, but there is a
lot of money being spent on athletes at the University
of Houston that that company that's asking to do stuff,
they'll never get that money back. You know, you have
to spend money to make money, but you have to
spend money to on the right marketing people and getting
athletes at ninety percent of the.

Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
Schools in this country just doesn't make a lot of sense.
That's true.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Arch man makes sense, frankly because arch Manning carries the
name it carries the University of.

Speaker 3 (01:29:04):
Tex He's about the one. I don't know who else,
maybe Carson Becker, a few other as far as the
big stars.

Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
Yeah, I mean it's it's it's just a way to
give that. I mean, I said many years ago money laundering.
It's not really money launering anymore. It's legal money because
they aren't getting it. But it's still a pathway for
a lumps to take care of those high school kids.

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
Yeah, and I do want to bring that because a
lot of people are like, oh, well Texas spends more
NIO than this school at that school. Well, yeah, because
that lumps in arch Manning, who is one of the
actual teams where one of the names I should say,
where where the the advertisers are getting at least some
name recognition from their product endorsement.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Like I here's let me just give you an example.
The young lady that plays softball at Texas Tech. She
gets a million dollars. Mm hmmm. I don't know her name, Nagerie,
And I don't know what she endorses. Where if I
watched arch manning the first weekend of the college football
seas and it was on like five different commercials.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
Yeah, it's just.

Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
A commediate way to use a company to help cipher
money to them that the school can't give. The school
can now give money, but there's only a certain amount of.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
The money, very limited. Not a lot of being spent
on softball.

Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
No, speaking of money, the NBA valuations are in for
this year. Oh really, can you name? We've actually talked
about this earlier week. You know who the most expect
that was expenctive, the most high highly Valuakers. No, not
the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
I thought I thought you knew this. The mos Okay,
the buy buy billions. The most valued in the most.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Valuable NBA franchise is not the Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Lakers, the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
No, Russell, We just talked about this two days ago.
The Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
Warriors were gonna be my next guest, eleven more than
the Lakers. That's that surprise. That doesn't surprise you a
little bit?

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
Oh surprised me a lot. I'm not saying I'm not
disagreeing with you, but I know you're idiot. No, we
talked about the other day, top five. Well, remember we
were talking about okay, talk about one team.

Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Yeah, Golden State was gonna be my next guest.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
Here are your top five. Celtics at five, Clippers at four,
Nicks at three, the Lakers two.

Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
Golden State is number one.

Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Other teams you may be interested in. The Rockets are five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
Rockets are tenth.

Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
They're worth five point five three billion dollars. Really that
went down? Wasn't a six billion last year? No, they
were up sixteen percent from a year. Dallas Mavericks are
right behind the Rockets at five point two to four billion.
Everybody's up, by the way, and you know why they're up.
It's because the new television do.

Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
Straight cash Homie Jeff Bezos money spins.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
The worst five Orlando is at twenty six. Really, Detroit
Pistons twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
Oh man, what a storied franchise that is.

Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
That Arl Hornets twenty eighth.

Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
It makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
New Orleans Pelicans twenty nine. And the least valuable NBA
franchise the Memphis Grizzlies at number thirty. It's worth just
a mirror four billion dollars. Wow. Well, this is what
here's in the reality is this. You do have shared
revenue that does allow Charlotte, New Orleans and Memphis in

(01:32:21):
theory to compete as hard. This Warriors the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
The neck is again, why I do not bat an
eye when players are making fifty sixty million dollars a year?
How many billions did Steph Curry make? Joelo is it
still Joelocabb or what's his name? Yeah, the owner of
the Warriors. How many billions has Steph Curry made? The

(01:32:47):
Golden State Warriors organized by Steph.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
Curry will be able to walk if he's down to
one leg, he'll be able to play with the Golden
State Warriors. He's like, you are not the most viable
franchise in the NBA without me.

Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
Correct, Marine Spates didn't do this. I did. Hey, hey, man,
don't be hating on most Bates US game.

Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
That's the news, dude. Uh twelve fifteen on Sports Talk
seven Nati seven one three two one two five seven
ninetis seven one three two one two five Sevenatti Well
twenty on Sports Talks seven AINTI, Matt and Ross. I'm

(01:33:29):
here in Atlanta for Rockets and the Hawks. The game
will be tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
The other day he.

Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
Sports Talk said, right here Blovey pregame show at six o'clock,
tip Ton would be a little bit past six thirty, then,
ROSSI next Tuesday, Oklahoma City, the site for game number
one of the NBA season.

Speaker 3 (01:33:48):
Wow, little I'll cast. Were you there, Matt the artist
storytelling one of your favorites?

Speaker 5 (01:33:53):
I think?

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
Is that on my phone? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
Or no?

Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
No? You've never heard of that sung before?

Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
Just ano that might be accurate. Let's talk to our
friend Mitchell calling us on a mobile line at seven
one three two five seven ninety and my toggles on working.

Speaker 11 (01:34:11):
Here we go, Hello Mitchell, Good afternoon, gentlemen. I sure
do you enjoy the show audience participation? So I'm gonna
be real quick. I would if i'd talk baseball, I'd
talk to 'aus for ten minutes. But U GK number one,
get a boys number two.

Speaker 7 (01:34:29):
And.

Speaker 11 (01:34:31):
I mean, I guess you gotta go in w a
uh stove dog that whole.

Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
You know, that whole label number three.

Speaker 9 (01:34:39):
Enjoy your day, guys, Thank you all for doing what
you do.

Speaker 2 (01:34:42):
Thank you, Rossie. Where do you put kumo D on
your list? Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
Coom old is kind of a little older for me
as far as I mean, but you gotta respect what
he did back in the day. And also, I don't
know if we were talking groups duos as far as
wrap duos to me. And it depends on where you
put Eric B and Rock Kim, because Eric B was
more the DJ Rock Kim more than MC of course,
Matt kind of like DJ Jazz Jeff and Will Smith

(01:35:08):
and the Fresh Prince. So I mean, are those true
rap duos? I don't know. And if you're going to groups,
then of course you're getting into the wu tangs, the roots,
those types of guys. So are we talking duos, trios
full on groups? I'm not sure duos? To me, it's
U GK and olcast number one and two, whatever order
you want to put him in.

Speaker 2 (01:35:32):
All solid points by you, Thank you, Matt. Yeah, Jonathan,
you know you don't know this.

Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Jonathan.

Speaker 2 (01:35:38):
Would you like to guess my favorite early OG rap song? O?
Vanilla Ice Ice Ice Baby.

Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
That's a great guess, not a bad guess, but accurate.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
That's the only I guess I would have got first.
Bald headed ho.

Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
Are you yes?

Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
And look at you?

Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
I know I am a ballheaded O. Uh I listened
to ball Headed Ho when I was going to the
slick Wlies to go crack poolsticks on the back of people.

Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
M hmm. That was when I was. That was in
my formative years. Billboard list has the best of rap
groups of all time Outcast one.

Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
We can clan to Matt. Okay, it feels fair in
w A three day.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
I think we actually have some we used we used to.

Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
All right, I'm gonna tell you a little story about
there was the plays. They have one big hit and
don't see if you figure that, yep, this is it.
Listen to Jonathan and ay it oh foujis. Oh, there's
a lot of great group.

Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
Beast boys, Beastie boys, Well I'm Beastie boys, beef boys
and that boys.

Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
Yeah, it's kind of a.

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Hold on.

Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
Okay, I can see this is Matt jam all day.

Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
I can say, listen to this.

Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
This picture Matt with a bag of donuts in his room.

Speaker 2 (01:37:24):
Plus seventy pounds a final tan.

Speaker 3 (01:37:28):
Yeah, suret doesn't cover his gut, groving massive man boobs
is grooving. Yeah, crack this up.

Speaker 13 (01:37:36):
Quiet quiet for a second.

Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
We got to see Oh so good, so good.

Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
Can you go back and look at him. They actually
weren't even that fat compared to twenty twenty five. That
is accurate. Yeah, the Fat Boys were just kind of
a little chunky.

Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
They were chunky, there were They were poortly so really fast.

Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
And we'll go back to the phones here. So KYND,
which was a.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Radio station I want to say fifteen twenty on the dial,
used to have a Sunday night sports show and I
would listen to it every Sunday because I was a kid.
I was just a radio nerd. I mean I'm a
nerd now, but I'm just was a radio nerd back then.
And they had a trivia contest and I got the
trivia and they gave me tickets to an Astros game,
and they gave me a bunch of albums. They said,
you have to come to the studios at kyn D

(01:38:36):
and I don't remember the ore they were, but I
got there. I met Kevin, a nice guy, name is
Kevin Anderson. Nice guy, shook his hand. He gave me
the tickets and I got a bunch of albums, and
I remember the very first album was the Fat Boys
Wipeout album. And that's when I became a fan. And
I've been there ever since.

Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
You've been supporting them ever since. Matt, It's beautiful. You
remember what the trivia question was?

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
Uh no, I do not something Astros related, though it
had to been. But you remember this is I gotta
be nineteen eighty seven, I want to say, and to
be able to go and take my buddies to a
game and not have to pay for the tickets. Oh so,
because we used always sit in the outfield for a dollar.
That was our debt, was our jam and flick Kalipanios
out of the warning.

Speaker 3 (01:39:18):
Now wipe out hit nineteen number twelve and nineteen eighty seven. Yeah,
I knew. I think I got the year right.

Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
I was. I was pretty happy about that. All right,
let's uh take a quick time out. Kyle and Parentline
want to talk some basketball. We'll get the rest of
you in two at seven one three, two one two
five seven. I we have a rotten five coming up
at about twenty minutes from now. Also, Ross and I
brought up a topic today. There is an NFL running
back that is being maybe discussed as a potential trade.

(01:39:48):
Is it in Nick Cassario's best interest to go improve
the running back position for this team? Especially if we
don't know the future of Joe Mixon, and especially if
it was gonna take something special for the Texans to
get a legitimate ground game to try to jump over
a bunch of teams to make the AFC playoff, because

(01:40:08):
it is a jumbled mess right now in the American
Football Conference seven one three two one two five seven
ninety seven one three two one two five seven ninety
We got a classical show a little bit here, man.
I miss this man's voice, y'all should too, George, George

(01:40:36):
up the whole fake just an old sweet song, Chief
Georgia on Prairie Charles Charge. I wonder if was he

(01:41:02):
guy now you and this is all before our time.
I wonder if you could put on your regular R
and B station if he was on the on the
radio a lot? Well, yeah, was he had much of
a singles guy on the on the radio stations?

Speaker 4 (01:41:15):
Yes, yeah, especially because he played to all like Demograph picks.

Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
We hit the Road, Jack and this song was obviously, but.

Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
Yeah, he had a lot of hits, yeah, a billion.

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
I'm just curious if he was much of it, you know,
because I mean you could put on if you put
on a rock and Roll in nineteen sixty four. You'd
heard Elvis all the time, and you heard Little Richard
and you're.

Speaker 3 (01:41:36):
Yes, you would hear Ray Charles too. I mean, yeah,
I've got a woman. You said.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
Hit the Road Jack so good.

Speaker 3 (01:41:42):
A lot of I mean earlier jazz hits and then
more R and B slash rock mess Around was a hit.
What else.

Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
I don't remember?

Speaker 3 (01:41:52):
Oh what I'd say? That was his big breakout hit.
Oh great song. We could we could do a whole
day of Ray Charles songs were drawing my mind. Number
one in nineteen sixty so, yeah, that hadn't played a
lot for sure. One Mint Julip, Oh, yeah, that was
with Quincy Jones. Hit the Road Jack was another number
one hit. Unchained my Heart. Number nine, I Can't Stop

(01:42:14):
Loving You number one hit You Don't Know Me. Number
two Hito has some hit.

Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
Oh Busted.

Speaker 3 (01:42:21):
That's a great song. And the movie Ray was fantastic too.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
I watch it so many times. Jamie Fox just killed
it all right. So you were heard Atlanta four Rockets
and the Hawks. We did not talk about this yet.
We're gonna give you that Breee Hall stuff in a
minute here. But you see the cover of s I
came out today. I did see it, but I don't
know the last It just made me think of how

(01:42:45):
much prestige that publication has lost.

Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
Quite frankly, the drawing a little little off. Yeah, okay,
I'm glad you said it. Yeah you knew where I
was going.

Speaker 8 (01:42:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:42:57):
No, the look the Rockets had no control over that.
You know, they have people that they can do artwork,
and I'm sure s.

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
I has done some.

Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
I don't think they went with AI. What do they
What do you think they did? He's thinking with like
five guys in the back and said, Hey, the best
one wins. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
I imagine they commissioned somebody and then they drew it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
Yeah, so uh, it's better than no recognition.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
Yes, oh this looks horrible. I'm sure whoever drew it
is a is a very good artist.

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
When Kevin Durant was asked about he goes, eh, it's fine.
Oh they did that. They did my boy wrong. That's
that's messed up.

Speaker 8 (01:43:44):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
It's people have asked me a lot. I said, what's
Kevin Durant like? And I said, I really don't know,
and I don't know if I ever will because I
don't I continue want to tell you all this.

Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
What do you mean you don't know? He's chill hanging
out with us.

Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
That's my point. He is so incredibly chill. Now he
can get spicy on the internet streets. Yes, his game
is still on top. I mean he'll find you. You
take a little shot at him, He'll find you and
make you feel bad about your life. But just being

(01:44:19):
around in the limited time on buses and planes, he
is very much basketball ross. He is very much about
his own individual craft. He is owning up to his responsibilities.
He is not going to be a raw, raw guy.

Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
He is not going.

Speaker 2 (01:44:38):
To be the leader of the team of bowling events.

Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
But he's going to lead on the court.

Speaker 2 (01:44:45):
And if you're a young kid and you want some
advice and a guy's been around those NBA lifestyle the
last eighteen nineteen years, Kevin Durant's gonna be your guy
you go to. And he's one of the fifteen greatest
players ever played the sport.

Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
M paired into story and he's wearing Houston Rockets here.
Yeah it's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
Yeah, and he wants to play into his forties.

Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
But the one thing.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
I've always appreciated. I appreciated, and I think you will.
You will hear this and see it more importantly, if
the Rockets are going to be as good, if not better,
this year. I don't even know if Kevin Duranta has
to be the best player. Does that sound weird for
me to say that? If it does, I'll I'll try

(01:45:31):
to explain.

Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
I guess if it can be close, he needs to
be close, and that would make I you're saying Shingoon's
making a big leaper a mind, I'm trying to.

Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
Say, Shangoon and Thompson become the faces of the team.

Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
Kevin Durant's the face of the Rockets today.

Speaker 2 (01:45:50):
He is if you want to get into the NBA
Championship waters Shengoon and a man have to take the
next step.

Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
Yes, Shingoon made an All Star Game, an All Star team, Yes,
and Amen was First Team All Defense.

Speaker 2 (01:46:09):
The man has to become the most feared or I
shouldn't say the most feared, one of the most feared
two way players in the NBA. Respect him as hell
on defense, Appreciate his ball handling, Appreciate his tenacity on
the defensive side. Can he become a legitimate not twenty
eight point score, but does he wake up in nineteen

(01:46:32):
twenty If he can do that, you add that to
an improved opera in Shangoon. If you believe he has
improved and continues to progress like he's one each and
ever year, then you had the layer of Kevin Durant.
Then you had the layer of Dorian Finney Smith, who's
been a three and D guy. You add the extra

(01:46:52):
stepth that you've accumulated, and you get just enough improvement
from Reed Shepherd at the point whenever he plays, whether
it's a starter or whether it's coming off the bench,
then that fifty two team win team of a year ago,
maybe he wins fifty four or fifty five and can
overcome a couple of teams to play compete against Minnesota, Denver,

(01:47:15):
and Oklahoma City for the Western Championship. That's my storyline.
If you were to say, how do you see the
Rockets being better today than they were when they left
the court after losing Game seven against Golden State. Durant's
a huge part of it. But I think if Durant
is just Durant and nobody else takes the forward leap,

(01:47:36):
I can't guarantee a Western Conference championship.

Speaker 3 (01:47:41):
Well, yeah, I mean the Thunder are the champs. The
Thunder are the King, and the Thunder are going to
be far away favreits than the Thunder should be. Yeah,
if you're going to challenge him, yeah, you need. I
would agree that you you need. You need a man
and an alprinching goon to both make a leap. Even

(01:48:01):
from where they are, they are already really good NBA
players players.

Speaker 2 (01:48:05):
I'll give you a baseball analogy. The Seattle Mariners were
really good this year. Right, they went and got two
players they stuck in their lineup, Naylor and as Suarez,
and their lineup became potent. I don't know of just
adding Durant with as uber competitive as.

Speaker 3 (01:48:25):
Hit sixty home runs out of nowhere, not out of nowhere,
but I mean, I'm talking about the free trade and
post trade.

Speaker 2 (01:48:32):
They were good. We're probably gonna make at least a
wild card. But they they knew they needed to get
over the hump, and and those two players were over
the hump. I don't know if Kevin just coming here
by himself is enough to go, because it's not. Because
the Rockets are I think can't be significantly better. I
just think the West is you're going to have a

(01:48:54):
dog fight in your hand for the first playoff game
you play. Look at last year's payoffs there we talked
at the other day. There were teams that were moving
around spots three through eight up until the final games
of the Seeds, in the last two.

Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
Games of the season. It's gonna happen again, beginning different
It's gonna happen again. Yeah, I'm just sad Fred's gone.

Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
Fred. Fred was boisterous. Fred also handled the ball in
his handed. The ball in his hand thirty five minutes
a game. That's not Durant. Durant's going to score. He's
going to give you length. He's going to give you
a legitimate scoring option every time he touches the basketball.
But if there's a stretch where games aren't working well

(01:49:37):
and teams to turn the ball over or defensive issues
come into play, Fred will chew you out. I don't
know if Katie's if that's in hismoxy, unless we hasn't
been seen.

Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
A whole lot, well, it'd be interesting. I'll just say, yeah,
I'm curious to see how much a men can shoot.
If a man can shoot that's gonna unlock everything for him.

Speaker 2 (01:50:00):
Has been the league scorer this preseason, not the preseason matter,
is true. But if that's if he's hitting forty.

Speaker 3 (01:50:06):
Per he told us he's gonna go to forty I'm
gonna tell you, I'm skeptical of that.

Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
I understand, But if he gets there, look out, well, yeah,
because I mean, Kevin Durant I think shot like forty
three percent from three.

Speaker 3 (01:50:19):
If you have him and a man shooting, and yeah,
this is this is gonna be one of the most
dangerous teams in basketball. I'm gonna tell you. Yeah, I'm
gonna tell you they're gonna be right there with Oklahoma
City if if, if they make these leaps. Also barring health,
also is yeah, how many how many games is Kevin
Durant gonna play? And hopefully he's ready for the playoffs.

(01:50:41):
We have to realize he's got a lot of tread
on the tire, and he's he's thirty seven years old now, So.

Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
I'm gonna say I am ridiculously enthusiastic, but I also
want to deal in some realities. This is gonna be
a long I mean, we're we're just we're not even
in the regular season. Yet some team in this group
of four or five legitimate TNAL contenders is going to
have some sort of catastrophic injury. It just happens that way.
Looking it happened in the East already. Boston Indiana aren't

(01:51:13):
even I know that Jason Tatum said he wants to
come back and play for the Celtics this year. I
don't know if that's gonna happen. But those two teams
are already thinking about the next season that they've already
cast aside this year. You know what if chef shake
Gill just goes down with Anthony Edwards slips and I mean,

(01:51:33):
it's just it's too hard to predict.

Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
Oh well, yeah, it could happen here and it already has.
It's Fred van Vliet.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
Yeah, and Lebron isn't even starting to mid November. I mean,
how much is he going to play this year?

Speaker 3 (01:51:44):
I know you got the sciatica going.

Speaker 2 (01:51:48):
You can't have the sciatica going, it's that good. Yeah,
all right, let's do this. We have the ability to
give you the five best teams in the NFL that
that takes just zero talent. Who do we look forward
to to find the utter garbage trash of the NFL
Sports RV with the Rotten five that's coming up in
a matter of moments. Seven one three, two, one two, five,

(01:52:11):
seven nine.

Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
They've gone there, they draw flies.

Speaker 1 (01:52:19):
It's Ross's Rotten five.

Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
This don't smell quite right. I'm so excited Ross. In fact,
I'm so excited about you doing the Rotten five this week.
I want you to take your time, take as long
as you want. Okay, Craig brought me lunch, so I
would like to have a little snack.

Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
Oh my gosh, say hi to Craig for me. He's
already left. I'll I'll see I'll see him tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
I'll tell you. Okay, all right, take your time for
the fourteen minute Rotten five.

Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
That's not gonna happen. We're gonna be really brief here, folks,
because I don't like when man eats on air. All right,
let's get to the Rotten five. Let's go and started
with a team that has been a stalwart on this list.
They are back in the Rotten five. They are horrible.
They are one in five on the year after losing
it to the Pittsburgh Steelers trading away Joe Flacco in

(01:53:14):
Division starting rookie QB Dylan Gabriel. How about a whopping
four point three yards per attempt. I mean that's a
middling rushing number. You talk about a passing number for
Dylan Gabriel. Yikes. Offense continues to be really bad for
the Cleveland Browns. They were going up against a tough

(01:53:36):
Steelers defense, but Quinn Sewn Judkins couldn't get anything going
on the ground either. He averaged three yards per attempt
on the ground. They only mustered nine points. They are
one in five. They have one of the worst offenses
in football. They are home for the Dolphins and they
are favored by two and a half. We'll just tell
you how bad the Dolphins are. They will be later
on this list, but right now, the Browns the fifth

(01:53:57):
worst team in the NFL Factor. All right, sir, calm down,
all right, let's keep it moving on the list to
the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
Baby.

Speaker 3 (01:54:07):
Yeah, they're one in five. Yes they are bad. They
have some real bad losses this year. Last week's lost
to the New England Patriots not necessarily something to be
embarrassed about. The analytics still continue to be pretty good
for Spencer Rattler eight point seven yards per ten for
him last week, but still hasn't been good enough for
the one in five New Orleans Saints. They take on

(01:54:29):
the Bears on the road this weekend, then they're home
for the Buccaneers at the Rams. I mean that sounds
like three straight l's can only get worse for the
fourth worst team in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
Believe it.

Speaker 3 (01:54:41):
Yeah, go sick the head up though, crawl fish there,
all right, let's keep it rolling. Yeah, the Miami Dolphins
are horrible. I feel like any other year they would
be further down this list. But there's just some really
bad teams in the NFL right now, and the Miami
Dolphins are one of them. They've also been very close
and just about all their games. They got crushed by
the Colts in Week one, but one score game against

(01:55:02):
the Patriots. Same thing for one score losses against the
Panthers and Chargers. They are snake bit. They can't get
it done. They are road dogs to the Cleveland Browns
and already talk of a fire sale. You got the
two a tongue of a loa comments this week and
Mike McDaniel, how much longer can he continue?

Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
To hold on.

Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Dolphins, you suck. You're the third worst team in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:55:23):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:55:24):
Number three actually on the list. Appreciate you guy, all right,
keep it on moving down the list. The Tennessee Titans.
Quite frankly, we're going by record here. They do have
a win and the Jets don't. But that was one
of the worst wins in NFL history by the Tennessee Titans.
We have to be completely honest. They are averaging brace yourself, folks,
three point nine yards per play in the NFL, easily

(01:55:48):
the worst in the league. Seattle Seahawks are best at
six point three. I mean, you're at three point nine.
That's embarrassing. Cam Ward, you are terrible. You're six and
a half point home dogs to the New England Patriots,
who are having a good year. But I mean, come on,
couldn't even get anything going against the Raiders as well.
Then you're at the Colts home for the Chargers. In

(01:56:08):
Texans and Seahawks and Jaguars. I mean, the l's are
gonna keep piling up. Titans, you're the second worst team
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
I mean, we're keeping a book right now, we ask.

Speaker 3 (01:56:18):
All right, the New York Jetropolitan. Speaking of messes, I mean,
poor Aaron Glenn. It basically set up to fail. The
defense actually hasn't been that terrible all season long, but
they just cannot get it going on offense. How about
nine sacks for Justin Fields this past weekend when they

(01:56:39):
played in London For the New York Jets. They have
not been good really on isers either side of the
ball overall. I mean, if you want to bench Justin Fields,
which they've talked about, you're going to Tarrod Taylor. There's
some guy named Brady Cook on the practice squad. I
don't even know who that is. Already talking about a
fire sale, already, Breasee Hall trade rumors. Things are completely
falling apart for the New York Jets Politans, but they

(01:57:00):
are only one and a half point dogs to the Panthers,
so they couldn't get their first win this weekend. But
right now, the worst team in the NFL, the New
York Jets. They can't stopping nosele How was that, Matt?
How many bites you get in you?

Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
All right? I'm down to one pancake and two piece
of bacon. Roman eating pancakes. Yeah, it's like two o'clock
over there. Yeah, I know, No, I love it. I'll
eat pancakes any part of the day. I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
I just love pancakes.

Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
I was craving pancakes, and so I was able to
have my great friend Craig ackerm and take care of me.

Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
And that's what they call you, pancake. Thomas Well.

Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
I used to get pancakes back in the day when
I was on the offensive line.

Speaker 3 (01:57:37):
All right, in order waffles, pancakes, French toast.

Speaker 2 (01:57:41):
French toast, one waffles, two pancakes. Yeah, I said it. Hmm,
all right, I got one free.

Speaker 3 (01:57:50):
Oh, Johnath's making faces, Jonathan, go ahead, go ahead, Jonathan.

Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
It's just French toast.

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
It really depends on where you get in it fresh true,
you know what I mean. Like pancakes and waffles are
usually Mama's French toast.

Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
The hardest for me to make French toast. Of course,
I have a waffle that helps. You have a waffle maker?
Are you getting from your wedding, like a full sized one? No, No,
it's it's it's a mid one.

Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
It's not great.

Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
And there they're two they are. I like the waffle
makers that are circular that you pour when you go
to like the rare rilled Inn hotel. You know, alright,
you guys are make me hungry. All right, here's one
for you. Bacon, sausage link, sausage patty. Put them on
one two three.

Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
Mmm, bacon one sausage patty two sausage link three but
I love them, but I love me some sausage links.
I'll go pancakes one waffle two, French toast three, but
I love French toast. It's tough.

Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
Matt, bacon one.

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
Oh I forgot we put a ham in the mix.
Oh hams forth. Yeah, here's my bacon one in there too.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
Bacon one, sausage patty two ham three, sausage.

Speaker 3 (01:59:03):
Link four country ham, country ham. Okay, I mean I'll
eat some country ham. But sometimes you just get that
part of it. It's like all weird and you're like,
what part of them a pig dos come from? It's
all chewy and fatty and grisly. Really quick, get thirty seconds, Jonathan,
one two three on your pancake.

Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
Uh, French toast, let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:59:27):
He's a screaming.

Speaker 2 (01:59:28):
Oh he's screaming. Okay, all right, well we'll.

Speaker 3 (01:59:32):
Yeah this get readiagg for the fourth hour. It's a
little radio tea's there. Oh real quick before you go
to break.

Speaker 4 (01:59:42):
Is there any spot that you had pork billy tacos
in Houston?

Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
I've never I don't think I've ever had pork belly
tacos in Houston.

Speaker 8 (01:59:51):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:59:51):
The pork belly that I had yesterday was at this
Asian place. The it wasn't a tortilla that was like
it was like a fluffy white Doughey kind of uh
uh covering not covering. But was it?

Speaker 3 (02:00:07):
We was full reading to you. Yeah, I'll look it
up because it was Oh you mean the oh, I
know what you're talking about. It's a bow. It was
a probably a bow.

Speaker 2 (02:00:17):
Yeah, It's very flus like a steamed bun exactly.

Speaker 3 (02:00:21):
That's exactly what it was.

Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
Oh, it was a good Ross. I was like, I
was eating dinner last night and I was like, you are.

Speaker 3 (02:00:27):
Well, you're branding your horizons, mad Ross. So proud pork
billy bow for you. I'm proud of you. Oh it
was so good, so good.

Speaker 2 (02:00:35):
Spicy animam a two oh two different types of sushi
we had, oh.

Speaker 3 (02:00:39):
Lording in Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia.

Speaker 2 (02:00:41):
When I think of Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (02:00:42):
You go to LA and Seattle, you don't. You don't
get to Seattle. I guess you go to La. You
don't do any of San Francisco, you don't do any
of that. But you go to Atlanta. That's when you're
Atlanta the at l Baby. Then you go to the
relies when you go to La.

Speaker 2 (02:00:55):
You know when I say went in Georgia seven one
three two one two five seven seven one three two
one two five seven ninety final hour the Matt Thomas
showed Ross.

Speaker 3 (02:01:04):
He's next.

Speaker 1 (02:01:06):
Is the Matt Thomas Show with Ross.

Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
Matt and Ross with you for the final hour of
The Matt Thomas Show. I'm here in Atlanta. Ross is
back in our Houston studios. I'll be back in studio
tomorrow with you little bliary. I had Ross, but I'm
gonna hang out with you because it's anything goes Friday.
We got to be together and for that, so looking
forward to uh, thank you Matt tomorrow. A tennam uh.
Speaking of travel, Uh, we have discussed this multiple times.

Speaker 3 (02:01:34):
We'll go to the phones in a second.

Speaker 2 (02:01:36):
That Twitter can be a great place full of information,
funny things, funny videos. It can also be the cesspool
of life. And uh, when you follow people, you tend
to be careful who you follow because you want to
make sure that your timeline is at least acceptable. And
if you don't like something somebody says you should, the
responsible thing for you to do is just scroll on

(02:01:57):
or mute them. Not the for ute my friend. There
is someone who is catching a lot of heat, it
feels like the last twelve months. And we brought his
name up a couple of days ago, and it bears
repeating because this gentleman who I like as a broadcaster,

(02:02:19):
tweeted twenty five minutes ago it's Kirk Kurbstreet.

Speaker 3 (02:02:27):
That's what happened now.

Speaker 2 (02:02:29):
So he's obviously got something going on with a sponsor
that he chronicles work, how he travels.

Speaker 13 (02:02:35):
Mmm.

Speaker 3 (02:02:37):
He's still under fire for his.

Speaker 2 (02:02:40):
Travel exploits his tweet twenty five minutes ago, slowing it
down this week. But Peter and I are still traveling
over a one hundred and forty miles from Nashville to
Sin Sanny to take on for the Steelers Bengals, then
a red eye to Athens for college game day, and
he's staying put to call at Ole Miss versus Georgie
that night back home in Nashville by Saturday night, catch

(02:03:03):
and arrest of the games from the back porch. Okay,
that's my life.

Speaker 3 (02:03:08):
It is, it is. It's a sponsor. You see the
little sponsor I do.

Speaker 2 (02:03:13):
So he's catching strays from two different groups of people ahead.
Group number one is they're tired of seeing Peter the dog.
Yesterday at the hotel there was there was video of
Kirk herb Street throwing a tennis ball down the floor

(02:03:34):
of the hotel of what he's staying in. This is
this is crazy social media. I'm sorry, Ain't nobody got
time for that. I'm trying to sleep in my hotel
room and I hear a dog yelping in a bouncing
tennis ball.

Speaker 3 (02:03:46):
On the star stool.

Speaker 2 (02:03:47):
Guys are annihilating him, saying I was on that floor
and couldn't sleep all night because you and your damn
dog were so loud.

Speaker 3 (02:03:53):
Okay, I imagine they're kidding, right, that was I was
assuming that's a choke.

Speaker 2 (02:03:58):
But people are believing these bars of guys because sometimes
when the barstool guys speak and they speak at the gospel, Yeah,
you're you're just trying to sleep.

Speaker 3 (02:04:05):
You like shutter your hotel room and you just hear.

Speaker 2 (02:04:14):
It's not good Jonathan one oh six Thursday, Please for
get that for tomorrow. So he's getting strays from people
about the dog, and he's getting strays about this torture travel,
that life he's in.

Speaker 3 (02:04:34):
I don't think he's talking. I don't think he's acting tortured, right.

Speaker 8 (02:04:43):
Is?

Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
He says? Go ahead? Oh, this guy's in Houston, he said, diehard,
diehard koogs. Oh my god, leave your dog at home
for once. F. I don't care. Man who blame carries
you blanking d running your fing mutts and playing catch

(02:05:05):
in a hotel hardwayway? You are a narcissist mother. F
you Ohio state and the horse you rode it on.

Speaker 3 (02:05:13):
That is a little strong.

Speaker 2 (02:05:15):
Folks at Chuck Rey wrong says nobody gives up F.

Speaker 3 (02:05:24):
And what else did I see?

Speaker 2 (02:05:25):
Oh? You travel for three cities and three days for
a million dollars. Let me see exactly what it was here? Uh,
let's see there's some safe travels at it. There's some
hope you guys have a saved. I'm so sorry you
get paid millions of travel for work must be so taxing.

Speaker 3 (02:05:47):
So oh my God, this is the best one. Somebody
at ats Grock? Okay, no, what health complications? Does weekly
travel like this dude with dog? Oh god, no, Grock.

(02:06:09):
Frequent travel like this can stress dogs, leading to anxiety,
dead digestive issues, fatigue, or dehydration. Air travel risks include
ear pressure changes, respiratory strain, and exposure diseases like cannel
call for parasites in areas.

Speaker 2 (02:06:25):
Who wow, I think the dog is catching some it's
catching some heat.

Speaker 3 (02:06:37):
Yeah, Jonathan said he's sick of that. He's sick of
this dog being all aware on his TV.

Speaker 4 (02:06:43):
I think it's cool, But do we have to show
every time, like every single time?

Speaker 2 (02:06:48):
Well you know what I mean, Like, I don't know, guys,
it's jumped the shark for me with him.

Speaker 3 (02:06:58):
The dog is cute. The dog you're cute. And when
one of them died and he just went next man up,
I was like, oh this.

Speaker 8 (02:07:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:07:08):
I love dogs.

Speaker 2 (02:07:10):
I love dogs. I love air travel. I love private
jet charter travel. You if I if I took a
photo of every place I went with this team that
I'm calling games for, you guys would crush me.

Speaker 3 (02:07:31):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (02:07:32):
Actually, So that's why I don't do it because I'd
crush myself. I don't want to hear about your four
days and five nights. Shut up. Yeah, I am blessed,
and I know where my role is. Do the radio
show with you, call a good basketball game, get back
to the family, get back to my friend's boom.

Speaker 3 (02:07:54):
I just don't like this playing catch with the dog
in the hotel hallway either. It's just outside, dude, Oh
I just saw this. Oh wow, go outside?

Speaker 2 (02:08:03):
Do you think he now, let me ask you this this.
Should he have gone outside? Yes, because I don't think
he bought the whole floor.

Speaker 3 (02:08:11):
That's what I'm saying. Unless you're in and you're like
in a literal typhoon, you you need to know. No,
don't go in up and down this hotel hallway spending.
What if people are allergic to pet dander and that's
all up and down their hallway.

Speaker 2 (02:08:34):
Nope.

Speaker 3 (02:08:34):
I love dogs.

Speaker 2 (02:08:36):
I love dogs.

Speaker 3 (02:08:37):
We love dogs.

Speaker 2 (02:08:38):
We're saying of love dogs. I this ain't right, This
ain't right. Ain't nobody got time to this? Sorry?

Speaker 3 (02:08:46):
Yeah, exactly what he said.

Speaker 4 (02:08:47):
I was trying to sleep on both hold on if
that was happening in the hallway of hotel, I was
trying to sleep at both our names will be ESPN
the next morning.

Speaker 2 (02:08:59):
Right, what I would tell Kirk if we were friends,
give Peter a break. He's not what you want to do.
But let's not get him on faith on your social post.
Let's not get him on ESPN. Let's let's give him
a little rest.

Speaker 3 (02:09:13):
It was cute at first, but it's just.

Speaker 2 (02:09:16):
It's, yeah, this this tweet.

Speaker 3 (02:09:20):
I love dogs. I love my I love my dogs.
I am bleeping tired of Kirk Herbstreet. It is bleeping dog.
Find something else to make your personality about.

Speaker 2 (02:09:33):
That's my sentiment, because I love dogs.

Speaker 3 (02:09:35):
I really love dogs.

Speaker 2 (02:09:36):
David on seven on a Hello David.

Speaker 5 (02:09:40):
Gentlemen, this call might be better off for and he
goes Friday, because I've got two maybe you can stand
at three little items here, and they're all fairly eclectic
but pertaining to things that you've been discussing on the
program today. But the first thing is, I just realized
that I'm actually gonna get to see the Rockets game
out here tonight. I did not know that, and so

(02:10:04):
that's kind of fun. And so with my five TVs,
I could make room for in between the college football
and the Major League Baseball playoffs and a little local
hockey interest here with the Golden Knights, I will have
room for the Rockets, and I'm excited about it. And
then my question about that though, is, actually, Matt, when
you're doing the games, where do you sit in Atlanta?
Are you like courtside or do they have.

Speaker 2 (02:10:23):
You up in one of those No, we are I'm
only courtside in two places now in the NBA. Most
of the places we are in the top part of
the lower level the arenas.

Speaker 5 (02:10:32):
Okay, all right, so I will not look for you
on TV today, tent.

Speaker 3 (02:10:35):
You will not see me, zero chance.

Speaker 5 (02:10:38):
My second thing concerns Georgia's songs, just because I used
to have a girlfriend named Georgia, and it's actually specifically
her name was Georgia Baylor, which I used to just
think was hysterical because I used to say she was
named after a Bowl game. But anyway, you don't know
how many songs about Georgia there are until you date

(02:11:00):
someone named Georgia. Everything comes up on the radio. So
I'm just offering that that you don't have to stop
it too. You can go into the hundreds. I made
a playlist actually which I played for myself on a
drive across Georgia, and I came up between groups that
are from Georgia, songs that have Georgia in the title,
whether it's the state or a girl or whatever. I

(02:11:21):
came up, which is massive amounts of Georgia stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:11:24):
Thank you, David. You know what, I think it's probably been.
I think Georgia, New York, and California. When you say
ross the three states that have the most music attached to.

Speaker 3 (02:11:31):
Him, that's probably accurate.

Speaker 2 (02:11:37):
Like I don't think Idaho's are on the list. Oh,
Texas is a lot of songs about us. We got
a lot of songs about Texas.

Speaker 3 (02:11:43):
That's true. I'm going to give you.

Speaker 2 (02:11:46):
A little country rap when we come back, when it
comes to Georgia. By the way, shout out to Aaron listener.
I'd love to see your photos everywhere you go. I
live my life through those, I Aaron, I love you.
It's not happening. I will get annihilated.

Speaker 3 (02:11:59):
I just will. I know.

Speaker 2 (02:12:00):
I know me, and I know my friends, and I
know my enemies, and they would crush me.

Speaker 3 (02:12:03):
Not happening.

Speaker 2 (02:12:06):
Not happening here I am. And you're heard your home
having porking beans, No chance, no chance. Ross.

Speaker 3 (02:12:17):
I can send you some photos if you want me to.

Speaker 2 (02:12:19):
I'm good, okay. Willie Fritz is gonna join us in
about fifteen minutes here, lovely.

Speaker 6 (02:12:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:12:26):
You can work on Believe or not during that time
if you'd like.

Speaker 3 (02:12:29):
The category is.

Speaker 2 (02:12:32):
Georgia Songs things. I mean, we've done Atlanta before.

Speaker 3 (02:12:35):
Right now, Sweet Georgia Brown, that's a jam. Oh but
I'm going with a country rap. Oh though you said
you didn't like Sweet Georgia Brown, It's okay, I like it.
I'm not even going bubbles sparks.

Speaker 2 (02:12:46):
What do you got?

Speaker 3 (02:12:46):
What do you got going?

Speaker 2 (02:12:47):
It's going to be like nineteen seventy nine.

Speaker 3 (02:12:49):
Oh yeah, that's you know what I should have guessed.

Speaker 2 (02:12:52):
I was looking for a soul of steel.

Speaker 12 (02:12:53):
He was in a bank because he was way behind,
and he was willing to make a deal when he
came across this young man sewing on the fiddle, and
it hot, and the devil jumped up on a hick
or dump and said, boy.

Speaker 2 (02:13:03):
Let me tell you what.

Speaker 12 (02:13:04):
I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle
player too, And if you'd care to take a dare,
I'll make a bet.

Speaker 2 (02:13:10):
With you.

Speaker 12 (02:13:11):
Now, you've played pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the
devil it's due. I bet a fiddle of gold against
your soul because I think I'm better than you. The
boy said, my name is Johnny, and it might be
a sin, but you're gonna regret because I'm the business.

Speaker 3 (02:13:24):
Like Charlie Daniels ROSSI, Yes, what's your favorite second favorite
Charlie Daniels song? The reprise of this?

Speaker 2 (02:13:35):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:13:37):
I mean that's classic, some good fiddling country rap? Yes
or no, no, it's how would you describe the song?
Just go old fashion country, a country rock.

Speaker 2 (02:13:57):
I don't know. I don't know what what the genre was.

Speaker 3 (02:14:01):
That's pretty funny you called it rap. I don't know.
It didn't go where I thought I was gonna goin
it works. I mean, he's talking lyrical. We're just going work.

Speaker 2 (02:14:20):
You know. What's our job is to get us to
appreciate all of our different music. I appreciate Kendrick Lamar
more than I ever had before.

Speaker 3 (02:14:26):
That's not true, and.

Speaker 2 (02:14:30):
I got I'm trying to get Jonathan to get the
music of yesterday year, the classics, the og hits all
working well for us. Oh, there's a bunch.

Speaker 3 (02:14:40):
Of you've always got something going on on the road.

Speaker 2 (02:14:44):
It's funny. Uh No, no fire alarms yet here at
the hotel, which is kind of a nice thing. That's good. Yeah,
all right, Texans are back on the practice field Monday
night tilt in Seattle. It is confirmed it's gonna be
on Channel eleven for those of you in all of
in presums living in Houston. So if you want to
watch the game, if you're gonna be out of town

(02:15:04):
like I will be, it'll be on ESPN, the main network.

Speaker 3 (02:15:08):
And so it'll be on ESPN and Channel eleven and
ESPN Plus.

Speaker 2 (02:15:13):
Uh. I think everything's on ESPN Plus anyway. Yeah, so
if you're like, if you're literally like driving around and
you can't get your you know, your if your phone,
if you ESPN Plus, Yeah, I think it's all on
all that stuff. So pretty soon, like I get the
Cougar's basketball schedule came out today yesterday, Ross the Cougars
are on like seven different channels the okay, that's cool, Peacock, Yeah, ABC, ESPN, Fox,

(02:15:39):
everybody's got involved in their own package of the games
because there's just so much out there, and you know,
these big networks, whether they're cable based or wired base
or over the air. They're paying these obnoxious amounts of money,
and these conferences are like, yeah, well we'll put our
games on digital. We don't care. You write the check, Peacock,

(02:15:59):
you're home for Big twelve basketball. I don't know how
great a games they are, but they're they're certainly getting
their share, all right. So back on the Texans. So
there have been some talk of Breese Hall leaving the Jets,
and my philosophy has been, whether it's Breese Hall or
anybody else that you may hear on the on the

(02:16:20):
streets of being potentially a trade being traded. Running back wise,
I don't know if the Ravens don't get out of
this funk, do they try to trade Derrick Henry? Does
he have enough left in the tank to help somebody out?
I would say probably so.

Speaker 3 (02:16:32):
I guess so Kerrey's numbers have gone down significantly with
Lamar Jackson out. Funny how that works.

Speaker 2 (02:16:38):
Isn't that weird? How that works? Yeah? So, how much
how important is it for you to see the Texans?
And it's namely general manager of Nick Cassira and for
that matter, Tobiko mean Mimiko's kind of saying this as well.
I mean, Dimiko goes to Nick and says, hey, what
he marks a nice young kid, fourth round pick, got
a bright future ahead of him, and Nick Chubb was
a nice little acquisition and didn't break the bank. But

(02:17:00):
we need some we need some more oomph. Are we
going to be disappointed if a running back the caliber
or Breis Hall winds up being in Kansas City or
in La Chargers, two teams directly that will be really
fighting with the Texans for a playoff position.

Speaker 3 (02:17:17):
I mean, yeah, he's good. Breeshall is good, but I
don't think if Breese Hall is like he's like a
franchise changer. But of course that's why he's available.

Speaker 2 (02:17:25):
Well, it's partly available, and it's also remember two, he
is a free agent at the end of this year,
so it's literally a rental.

Speaker 3 (02:17:31):
You're not committed.

Speaker 2 (02:17:32):
I mean, it kind of feels like to me a
perfect Nicks stereotype acquisition, does it not.

Speaker 3 (02:17:36):
I have a good feeling. I know it's Thursday. That's okay,
He's gonna get traded somewhere or we're gonna say, why
didn't the Texans make that trade? I think it happens
all the time. I think it's gonna be like a
fourth or a fifth swap exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:17:50):
You're gonna hear why didn't the Texans with all this
draft stock, why didn't they do something like that when
they knew they had an area of need. No, I
don't think people are gonna have a tough time sleeping
over this, because again, if if Nick Chubb can let's
say Nick Chubb, could he rush for seventy yards a game?
Would that be enough? I would say yes?

Speaker 3 (02:18:11):
Right, yeah, if you if you get them combined, I
mean yeah, it's it doesn't have to be one or
the other. It's what are you What are you getting
out of the backfield? What are you getting out of
the running back position? Right? And if you combine Woody
Marx and Woody and Chubb, see, jeez, if you combine
their their powers, they can be good enough. I'm feeling

(02:18:34):
increasingly worse about the Seahawks Monday night matchup?

Speaker 2 (02:18:37):
Is that just me?

Speaker 8 (02:18:38):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:18:39):
Well, here's there's two problems. One, we don't know much
about them. Two, what do you mean, well? They're not
household team. I mean it's Sam Darnold, Jackson Smith and
Jigma and what else you want to go with.

Speaker 3 (02:18:50):
Kenneth Walker, that's not Marshall A J.

Speaker 2 (02:18:54):
Barner.

Speaker 3 (02:18:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:18:55):
I think Okay, I think your point is Cooper Cooper
cup just caught his first touchdown pass last week. Now,
they did win at Jacksonville. That's impressive. Texans couldn't do that.

Speaker 3 (02:19:13):
Correct, And I also think they're better than you. They're
three and a half point favorites something.

Speaker 2 (02:19:17):
Yeah, I don't know. It's not a huge rivalry game.
It's not a game that's that people at the bars
are like, man, I cannot wait for Texan Seahawks. I'm
be excited about the game, but they're not gonna be
like sitting there right now, going, man, we've gotta break
down the front seven of Seattle.

Speaker 3 (02:19:32):
I just yeah, A lot of accounts that I follow,
they are like analytics forward Matt and it ends up
on my for utab. A lot of it has like
Seahawks and Sam Donold is one of the best in football,
and the Seahawks is one of the best in football.
I'm worried. I'm worried, That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (02:19:47):
Do you think Seahawks fan is as obnoxious as Mariner fan?

Speaker 3 (02:19:50):
Yeah, they're the same, right at least they well know.

Speaker 2 (02:19:55):
Yeah, the Seahawks have a much more prolific postseason life
than them Mariners do.

Speaker 3 (02:20:02):
And as we talked to Willie.

Speaker 2 (02:20:03):
Fritz, in a matter of moments, we say, let's go
Blue Jays, let's tie that series up. Seven one three
two one two five seven ninety. If you want to
join our show today seven one three two one two
five seven night we got to Believe it or not
coming up in just a few minutes. And the category
today I believe is go ahead, Okay, what is it?

(02:20:26):
I don't know. Georgia songs could would be the worst thing.
Seven one three two one two five seven ninety seven
one three two one two five seven ninety with the
word right now where it's at the rocket to take
down the Hawks.

Speaker 3 (02:20:44):
So let's spend a few minutes right now.

Speaker 2 (02:20:45):
With the head football coach of your Cougar's, My Cougar's
Americas Cougar's very impressive win against Oklahoma State back home
for a Saturday tilt with Arizona eleven o'clock start time
at TDCU Stadium. Willie Fritz is with us on the show.
We'll first of all, congratulations seven to nothing. Oklahoma State
started off a lot of trick plays early on. Once

(02:21:07):
things got settled down, you guys took over. Were you
surprised at the amount of trickery that Oklahoma State tried
to throw at you guys, especially in that first half.

Speaker 8 (02:21:16):
Well, they've been doing it, you know, the last couple
of ball games. A goat an intermead coach. Really, you know,
all their play callers, you know, why not? You know,
I told our kids and you know, throw the kitchen
sink out at us. And we got to do a
great job of having good eyes on every single play.
And you know, for the most part we did. But
early the ball game they were in a little double

(02:21:38):
pass and sent it back up a shoot and unfortunately
we we rallied for the first throw and they had
two throws involved in the play. But after that we
settled down and played pretty darn good and I don't
think we gave up another trick play after that.

Speaker 2 (02:21:54):
You settled down. Your offense was great. You got a
lot of different receivers involved that had to be pleasing us. Actually,
for guys that are running those routes and practicing hard
during the week to finally see their name being called
in a plane. To reach the end zone and have
the big numbers they had had to be very pleasing
to that group.

Speaker 8 (02:22:11):
Yeah, I really did. We threw for over three hundred
and rush for almost two hundred yards. Harvey Bruce Sard,
who's done a great job in practice, kind of like
you were saying, and because this hasn't had a chance
to get much action in the game, he had some
really big time catches for us and also forced to,
you know, a big fifteen yard penalty sometimes that you

(02:22:33):
know and it doesn't show up on the stat sheet,
but you know you're throwing the ball deep and you
beat the defender and he has to go ahead and
interfere with you. That's still a huge play for you.
But we were glad to see Harvey get going.

Speaker 2 (02:22:48):
Was there a part of you that had to have
gotten the guys on the bus and the pregame hype
and at the stadium and say, look, we had a
disappointing loss against Texas Tech.

Speaker 3 (02:22:57):
Oklahoma State's going through transition.

Speaker 2 (02:23:00):
Let's get out to a fast start, because you don't
want a team like that who's all fighting for positions
in their future, to make this a ball game. And
really after that first touchdown they scored, it really wasn't
much of a ball game.

Speaker 8 (02:23:11):
Yeah, you know, we kind of took care of all
that on the monday, you know, after the previous game.
And I always talk about, you know, every every week
is its own season, and I'm flushing the previous game,
whether you won or lost, down the toilet and doing
everything you can to play better and keep improving every
single week. And that's what lead people do, elite teams do.

(02:23:33):
They're able to focus and concentrate day after day after
day after day, and he's stacking up good days on
top of each other. You can improve and be the
very best you could possibly be. So the guys, I thought,
we had a good week of practice, and you know,
in this big twelve, you got to do that every
single week. It's everybody pretty darn good, and you know,

(02:23:56):
we just want to keep striving to play that, you know,
that perfect game.

Speaker 2 (02:24:01):
Willie, you were talking about getting some different guys involved
when you were coaching and managing a roster. You were
thinking about some red shirts and whatnot and getting guys
in and maybe burning them. I don't know if that's
even a possibility much anymore. Because of the portal and
guys moving left and right. But do you especially for
the kids you have recruited that you said, maybe they're
not ready to go just yet, but we can sneak

(02:24:23):
them in. Are you spending as much time you and
your staff about who's playing red shirts? Or is that
just the kind of a thing of the past now.

Speaker 8 (02:24:31):
No, we do talk about that, you know. But you know,
I tell all our guys all hands on deck. At
the beginning of the year, I said, anybody who's I
wanted to play just four games and then decided to
red shirt, you know, just go ahead and hit on
out the door. I want everybody all in for the kooks.
But when you start getting to this point of the
year and the guys only played a little bit, that

(02:24:52):
does come into your thought your thought process. So there's
a few guys that will end up being red shirted.
You know. I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know.
You know, what's we're gonna be ad in two, three,
four weeks, you know, So we just want everybody all
in on the twenty twenty five coups, Well.

Speaker 2 (02:25:11):
You got an Arizona team coming in a double overtime loss,
to b YU. As you looked at that game tape
they played a late night game. A thought or two
about what they did well and do you anticipate another
game like that where they could come down to a
final possession late in the contest.

Speaker 8 (02:25:27):
Yeah, you know it possibly could. You know, they had
a long game. They had a rain delay. I think
the game actually lasted, you know, over five hours from
the beginning to the very end. You know, they were
up and by you did a great job of getting
the field goal I think with five minutes to go,
and then scoring with just a few seconds left to

(02:25:47):
send it into overtime. But this is a very talented
Arizona team. The quarterback probably gonna end up being their
all time leading passer and school history. And they've had
a lot of great quarterbacks out there at Arizona and good,
good receiving corps. They've run the ball very successfully. Defensively,
they really throw a lot at you there. You know,

(02:26:08):
a three minion front, four man front. I'll bring guys
from the second level, a blitz, a drop, you know,
defensive lineman at times. So you know, it's a team
we've really had to study early in the week, you know,
just with our scout team to make sure those guys
line up properly and give our guys a good look.

Speaker 2 (02:26:28):
And the kids now acclimated of this early start time.
We had the eleven o'clock kickoff last week and still water.
No plane trip this time around, but still a fairly
early wake up call for the boys.

Speaker 8 (02:26:39):
Yeah, you know, we practice every morning, so we start
our meetings at seven am, so tell our guys we
can sleep in a little bit. So I think they're
excited about it.

Speaker 3 (02:26:50):
Willie, thank you for the time.

Speaker 2 (02:26:51):
By the way, a sixth win gets his Cougar football
program back to the bulls, and that's something we need
to be on a regular basis. I don't know if
that's a huge thing for your kids that are in
that locker room now, but for an alumni base that
has seen some leaner times, it's a pretty big accomplishment.
You could be getting a here on this game against
the Wildcats.

Speaker 8 (02:27:10):
Well, our big goal obviously is to win this week.
We just want to do that every single week. You
do the very best. We can't keep improving and good
things will happen for Houston and.

Speaker 3 (02:27:22):
We'll leave it at that.

Speaker 2 (02:27:23):
Coach, thank you for the time as always, really appreciate
it and best of luck on that midday Saturday.

Speaker 8 (02:27:28):
Thanks for having me on, Go Koogs.

Speaker 3 (02:27:30):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:27:31):
Willie Fritz with us here on Sports Talk seven ninety
Cougars and Arizona at eleven am start time. You want
to listen to the game on the radio, we'll begin
at ten o'clock over on nine to fifty KPRC. And
of course, if you want to go to the game,
Uhcougars dot com slash tickets are called seven to one three.
Go Koog's all right, a couple of things to get
to tonight. We have the Rockets in the Atlanta Hawks.

(02:27:52):
We'll have it for you here on seven ninety beginning
at six o'clock Tipton will be a little bit past
six thirty. Rockets will be off until next Tuesday. Open
up the regular season. Will be the very first game
of the NBA season against the Oklahoma City. They'll have
their big ring ceremony and all that kind of stuff,
and hopefully it'll be an opportunity for the Rockets to

(02:28:13):
kind of show off in front of the national folks
what this team is all about.

Speaker 3 (02:28:16):
If you've not.

Speaker 2 (02:28:17):
Gotten your sports illustrated yet, there is a cover that
you probably want to get.

Speaker 3 (02:28:21):
It is a picture portrait of.

Speaker 2 (02:28:23):
Kevin Durant wearing rocket gear and it's kind of a
big deal to be the NBA kickoff first SI cover
and that's exactly where Kevin Durant is, So that's gonna
be cool to see that. There's also a lot of
Netflix documentaries out about the NBA Starting five and a
lot of stuff about Kevin Durant and James Harden and
Lebron James. I'm gonna have to be looking. Is that?

(02:28:45):
Is that that Starting five show that we're all this
all this audio video materials coming from.

Speaker 3 (02:28:50):
Yeah, man, you gotta watch it now.

Speaker 2 (02:28:52):
I'm very interest because the clips that are coming across
on Twitter are amazing. The amount of blank talking among
the superstar athletes this generation is crazy right now. Great
Katie not afraid of men's words. He's not gonna soft
play anything. So if you have Netflix, I guess it's

(02:29:13):
called Starting five and I think I'm gonna have to
start watching it for sure. Texans are on the practice
field getting ready for the game Monday night in Seattle.
We've got game number four of the America League Championship Series.
That is tonight as the Toronto Blue Jays find themselves
down two games to one. That's the night game. The
game that starts before that is in Los Angeles. It's

(02:29:35):
Game three between the Brewers and the Dodgers, and that
thing is gonna The first pitch.

Speaker 3 (02:29:39):
Of that is at five o'clock Houston time.

Speaker 2 (02:29:43):
Brewers Dodgers, with LA up two games to none in
that series, Blue Jays Mariners. Again, it's two to one
in favor of Seattle. All right, we're gonna play but
believe it or not next and I've given Ross plenty
of time to come up with the definitive unbelievable top
topic is all right, we'll see is the topic of

(02:30:04):
conversation today, unbelieve it or not, And that is coming
up in a matter of moments seven one three two
one two five seven ninety seven one three two one
two five seven nine zero before we go to break. Oh,
I see the latest win totals for the Rockets this year.
This is according to a website. We're not gonn give

(02:30:24):
them run two? Uh Still, the Rockets at fifty two
and a half on the win total that was as
of today. Number one in the win total would be
I'm going to assume Oklahoma City at sixty two and
a half Rockets. Last year before the start of the season,
their win total was forty three and a half. So

(02:30:45):
there are plus nine differents, but that pretty pretty dramatic
increase of what Kevin Durant hopefully can do for the
Rockets this year. Seven one three, two one two five
seven ninety to play believe or not, we are bleed playing?
Are we playing for?

Speaker 8 (02:30:58):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:30:59):
Cougar tickets? Is that correct? Right? Cougar versus Arizona tickets?
If you want to play for those, stick around for
that here on Sports Talk seven ninety. Can we really
quick give a man his flowers?

Speaker 3 (02:31:10):
The casino go ahead?

Speaker 2 (02:31:15):
There is the governor of Illinois. He's a billionaire.

Speaker 3 (02:31:18):
By the way. His name is JB.

Speaker 2 (02:31:20):
Pritzker.

Speaker 1 (02:31:21):
JB.

Speaker 3 (02:31:22):
Pritzker. Okay, JB.

Speaker 2 (02:31:24):
Pritzker. He is a potential twenty twenty eight presidential candidate
for the Democratic Party. Uh. He fouled his tax returns
most recently. As billionaires do, they tend to take their time.

Speaker 3 (02:31:39):
Well, I found an extension a matter respect.

Speaker 2 (02:31:42):
According to his tax filing, played black check quite a
bit in Las Vegas last year.

Speaker 3 (02:31:48):
Oh, let's go.

Speaker 2 (02:31:50):
Proceeds one point four million dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:31:59):
Legal huh sorry, where was he playing?

Speaker 2 (02:32:03):
Pritzker reported the earnings in his latest tax filing after
he played the card game while on a vacation with
his wife and some friends.

Speaker 3 (02:32:10):
Mm hmmm, where what casino was it?

Speaker 2 (02:32:12):
I'm about to find out as the operator of this
casino received any tax breaks, sir, the governor Sorry, just
politician's equal corruption to me.

Speaker 3 (02:32:22):
I don't mean to be so cynical.

Speaker 2 (02:32:23):
The governor will says he was donating the money to charity.

Speaker 3 (02:32:26):
All right, that's nice, Okay, never mind.

Speaker 2 (02:32:29):
Then the governor apparently also likes to play poker and
founded a charity poker tournament, Let's go his He and
his wife reported the net income last year of ten
point six million dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:32:41):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (02:32:43):
The revelations of gambling winnings come as the Pritzker has
increasingly moved on to the national scene as the As
a White House critic, Pritzker is locked in a pitched
political fight with President Trumpets Immigration agents have aggressively carried
out operations, making hundreds of arrests in Chicago. Pritzker is
arrested to speak, expected to speak more on the caste
you know income at a news conference later today. It

(02:33:03):
doesn't say where he played. Okay, one point four million, dude,
that's good. What's the weekend? Not a bad weekend? Doesn't
safe he count's cards? Ross doesn't say you know what
he says? He says, don't sit next to blue hairs
that hit fourteen's against forst No.

Speaker 3 (02:33:24):
Actually, if he's a smart player, he knows that it's
just as likely to help his.

Speaker 2 (02:33:28):
Here, I don't even do that. Five minutes up to
god the show, what should we do? We should play
America's fastest growing sports radio game show. We simply call
it be Believe It or Not? And here's how it works.
You call seven one three two one two five seven

Completely notterly accurate. You'll say this, I believe it at
the statements he running is full of bunking, made up.
You'll say this not?

Speaker 3 (02:33:59):
Do you believe in ants and roll?

Speaker 2 (02:34:00):
Get you tickets see the Cougars take on Arizona this
Saturday eleven o'clock at TDECU.

Speaker 3 (02:34:04):

Speaker 5 (02:34:13):

Speaker 2 (02:34:16):
Before becoming Atlanta, the city was known as Terminus and Marthasville,
among other names. Believe it or not, Believe it, Believe it,
stay with number two for the win. Atlanta's home the
most strip clubs per capita in the United States.

Speaker 3 (02:34:31):
Believe it or not.

Speaker 2 (02:34:34):
Not, that's not it. Frtland Actually, thank you, you can
grant you answer. I would have thought Houston would be
the winner there. Paul on Seminati, Paul, You're ready to play.

Speaker 8 (02:34:43):

Speaker 2 (02:34:45):

the Gate City, and the Hollywood of the South. Believe
it or not not? That's a believe it?

Speaker 3 (02:34:56):
How these nicknames come?

Speaker 8 (02:34:58):
