The word tasone. Now kick back, pop a top and catch up with
your Houston team rank Cap Rank. This is the Nightcap with Ross Verial,
Thank Cap, Thank th six sotoo in the PM here on Sports Talk

(00:33):
seven ninety. Hello and welcome into another edition of the night Cap program,
Ross Verreal with you on a Fridayevening as we have a number of
things to get to and discuss.Trey Campbell in the fold as well.
Yeah, Trey, I'm sorry thatyou have to stay here for an extra

(00:54):
hour to work the Nightcap, butyou know, it is what it is.
We got to fill the program ofsomething. Excuse me, you just
chugged that. You didn't chug it, did you? I drank it pretty
quick? Is it one of thosesixteen ounce jobs? It wasn't a big
can? Okay? I think theregular ones are about sixteen ouncers. Yeah.
I pretty much put it back prettyquickly. Okay, all right,

(01:15):
Well when did you do that withinthe last thirty minutes? Or yeah?
About an hour ago? Oh?An hour ago? So you usually be
feeling a little bit wired right now? Are you feeling pretty good? Okay?
I'm watching the heart rates up,yeah, watching the royal Okay,
all right, Well, I havea crazy idea. I'd like you to
pay attention to this show, ifthat's all right? You know what I
mean? Yeah? Well, yeah, I mean in the background. Yeah,

(01:36):
I know that Royals Baseball is reallycapturing your imagination right now. But
it'd be cool if you'd paid attentionto the show and bring You're gonna bring
us some headlines at six thirty,Is that correct? Correct? All right?
Great? Is one of them aregoing to be about killer Orca taking
over boats. I heard you weretalking about that earlier from a source close
to the show. We kind ofburned that one in the okay, but

(01:57):
well it's fine. There's an equallyinsane animal store, Okay, was wonderful,
So I look forward to that comingat six thirty. Trey Campbell is
here. I'm here, Ros virReale, and you can be here as
well on the phone lines if you'dlike, at seven one three two one
to five seven ninety seven one threetwo one two five seven ninety your phone
number two. Get in. So, as I mentioned, we have a

(02:22):
lot of different stuff to get to. Interesting nuggets from the Astros lineup.
Have you seen it yet? We'llget to that in just a second,
but of course we do have tostart with your Houston Rockets in the draft.
Last night. We did the DraftSpectacular last night here. It was
me, Adam Clanton, Adam Wexler, stand Norfleet, Matt Thomas dropped by,

(02:43):
been do Bows drop by as well. Really fun time. Good to
see a lot of the crowd outthere at Post Houston. If you're not
familiar, it was like the oldit's an old post office, I guess,
and they built it out with abunch of restaurants and fun stuff to
do. I think there's an indoorsoccer field in there or something as well.
I don't know. There's a lotof stuff to do in down there,

(03:04):
and it was pretty fun and wewere out there talking and hanging up
the folks. Good to meet alot of you out there as well.
Anyways, the Houston Rockets drafted numberfour overall I'm in Thompson and number twenty
overall Cam Whitmore. And earlier today, as I do periodically, I was
contacted. There's a radio station inKansas City that has me on for interviews
every now and then and just talkingabout what's happening and then stories that happened

(03:28):
with Houston Sports and they obviously wantedto talk about the Houston Rockets draft.
And this is the way that Iexplained it to them, And this is
the way I would explain it tosomebody who maybe doesn't follow the Rockets and
draft. And I know some ofyou tune out, some of you get
all on it, and I appreciatethose that you do. I think it
was fascinating last night, especially withthe Cam Whitmore Pike at twenty in a
vacuum, just strictly if you're lookingat a big board and what the Rockets

(03:54):
did. I think they knocked itout of the park. I think it's
an A or A plus. Andof course draft grades do not mean anything
when it's less than twenty four hoursfrom the draft. But you have all
these websites and it's SI and it'sSporting News and ESPN and Bleacher Report and
blah blah blah blah blah blah, and everybody's got to the ringer. All

(04:15):
have to have their writers, andwe gotta get draft grades out. We
gotta get draft grades out, andso it's they do it because it's content
and well, quite frankly, weclick on itself included I went around and
looking at draft grades for the Rocketsand see what the national pundits were saying
about it, and most of thegrades are A to A plus that I
saw so and you look at itin a vacuum. Strictly from a talent
standpoint, the Houston Rockets I thinkknocked it out of the park with the

(04:40):
drafting of Amen Thompson. Mega athlete, good playmaker, can hopefully develop into
a great playmaker. Of course,we all know the one weakness, the
biggest weakness for him, the boxthat he does not check, is shooting.
And you know, you don't haveto be a basketball savant to know
that it's helpful to be able toshoot the basketball in the game of basketball.

(05:05):
And the Houston Rockets were dead lastin the NBA in terms of three
point percentage last year. So oneof the things coming into this draft that
I was hoping that the Rockets weregoing to be able to get their hands
on was some premium perimeter shooting. They didn't do it with the number four
pick overall and Amen Thompson, butI still am on board with the pick.

(05:29):
You're hoping that you can just,I don't know, break down his
shooting motion and completely build it upfrom nothing and hopefully within a couple of
years you're shooting about thirty five thirtysix percent from three league average. That's,
I think is what the hope wouldbe. Because the bad sign with
Amen Thompson as far as shooting,as he also doesn't shoot well from the
free throw line. To me,that's one thing that you look at with

(05:51):
guys is like, can you shootat all? And if they make their
free throws, which Jamaris m Juniordoes for example, as we know,
the book on him coming out ofAuburn was that he was a dead eye
shooter forty percent from three at Auburn. Oh, he's gonna flit right,
and he's gonna be three and dhe's gonna be great. And then he
shot thirty percent from three all seasonlong. But he shot close to eighty
percent from the free throw line,So you feel like there's something there.

(06:13):
Okay, he can get in arhythm, he can shoot, he can
make there, maybe that's gonna beokay. Bad thing with am and Thompson
as he shoots like sixty five percentfrom the free throw line for a six
seven wing that is not good.So it feels like there's gonna have to
be basically a massive reconstruction of theshooting motion of his just from looking and
things that I've seen and scouting reportsand stuff as well. He seems very

(06:34):
inconsistent with the release point. Sometimesthe shot is flat, sometimes it's too
high, and it just comes outlike a different time almost every time he
shoots. That means he's inconsistent. He's gonna have to build something consistent,
at least more consistent, and workon it and work on his game.
Which when we had him on aninterview last night, as we were lucky

(06:55):
enough to get him and there wasmyself stand or fleeing to Mike Connor talking
to him, Yeah, he said, he's gonna have to just he knows
that shooting is his weakness. He'sjust gonna have to get in the gym.
He's get to work on it forhours and hours and hours and hours
and improve and hopefully get better. And if we just look at the history
of the NBA, there are guyswho get better and come out the book
on them is that they can't shoot, and eventually they can turn it around.

(07:18):
But there are also guys who thebook on them is they can't shoot,
and then their entire career they can'tshoot. Russell Westbrook says, hello,
So it'll be something to keep aneye on. It would have been
nice to get some shooting, butthey didn't at the number four overall pick.
And then, of course, theinteresting thing with Cam Whitmore taking twenty

(07:38):
overall is why did he continue tofall down, down, down and down
draft boards? If you look atvarious people from around the league, and
you know these aren't necessarily gms ofthe league. The gms have the final
say, and the GM said hewas picked at twentieth in the first round,

(08:00):
but guys like San Vassini of TheAthletic had him at number three.
Jonathan Givoni of Draft Express Slash ESPNhad him number six overall. John Hollinger,
who was in the front office withthe Memphis Grizzlies but now as a
pundit again had him number three overall. Kevin Pelton number three overall. I
mean, there's a lot of peoplearound who had him at or around the

(08:20):
top ten as far as talent inthe NBA draft. Why did he fall?
Well, we have I'm not goingto play the audio because it's kind
of lengthy from Jonathan Gavona, whoI mentioned from Draft Express and ESPN talking
about possible future issues with knee cartilage, and perhaps he didn't interview so well,

(08:43):
it didn't work out so well,But the talent is there. Five
star talent went to Villanova, hada thumb injury and then was hit or
miss as sometime in his career hisshort lived career at Villanova. But you
got a steal of a talent atnumber twenty, and will that talent work
out? I don't know. I'mgonna tell you this though. Cam Whitmore

(09:07):
is not even nineteen years old.He turns nineteen on July eighth, two
to eighteen years old, so hopefullyyou can see some maturation. Hopefully he
can continue to grow and get better. And then you're talking about a great
pick with the Rockets stealing it atthe end of this draft, so we'll

(09:28):
see both the picks in a vacuum. I like him. If I have
told you that had come away withCam Whitmore, and I'm in Thompson,
two guys that, by all accounts, at the very least top ten talents
by some people's standards, top fivetalents. It's pretty darn good haul.
And I'm pretty excited about it.How it fits in. We can talk
about that because there are a lotof Houston Rockets who are young and are

(09:52):
gonna want to play in this rotationand make this rotation. And oh,
by the way, you still havethe free agency period opening up. What
is going to ha happen there? So we're gonna talk about that. If
you'd like at seven one three, two, one two five, seven ninety,
how you feeling about those draft picksseven one three, two, one
two five, seven ninety And ofcourse astro stuff, as I mentioned,

(10:13):
three games set over the weekend withthe Los Angeles Dodgers. Tonight nine ten,
first pitch here on Sports Talk sevenninety tomorrow, I believe it's six
fifteen. It's a national Fox game, and then Sunday a national ESPN game.
So not a lot of national lovefor this Astro's Dodgers series this weekend.
And I mentioned a little Astro nuggetthat surprised me a little bit.

(10:37):
What does this mean for the future. We'll talk about that on the other
side here as a nightcap goes withyou until seven o'clock right here on Sports
Talk seven ninety. Back after theshort break. Welcome back to the Nightcap
program here on Sports Talk seven ninety. Are you wearing your black Air Force

(11:01):
ones today? Trey, No,I'm wearing my vans. Oh okay,
yeah, I was just checking.Trey wants two per them air Force ones.
All right, Welcome back to theNightcap program here Ons four stalks seven
ninety. Rosbie are real with you. If you want to get in,
phone lines are open seven one threetwo one two five seven ninety. Is

(11:24):
the phone number seven one three twoone two five seven ninety. So I
did, I don't know, alittle bit of research and the last twenty
four hours or so kind of justtrying to find guys who were really bad
shooters who improved and some of themsome of them are a mixed bag of
course. If you remember, JasonKidd was somebody who earlier in his career

(11:48):
he was a very poor three pointshooter. Later on his career as a
Dallas maverick, and it helps whenDirk Navitski is occupying like two or three
defenders and you can just stand outthere in the wings and shoot some threes
completely uncontested. But he got alot better as his career went along.
From free throw shooting. And hewas also somebody who shot under seventy percent

(12:11):
from the free throw line early inhis career. Reggie Jackson, if you
remember, of course, the DetroitPiston Clipper, etc. Is somebody who
also early in his career was avery poor three point shooter, but was
actually over eighty percent from the freethrow line and improved as his career went

(12:33):
along. And then another one,if you recall, famously a horrible,
horrible shooter and unfortunately hasn't been healthythe last couple of years, but completely
retooled his shooting motion a Lonzo ballearly in his career. His first year
in the NBA he shot forty fivepercent from the free throw line, forty

(12:58):
two percent from the free throw linehis second year, and then when he
went to New Orleans, he completelyreconstructed his shot. He was shooting thirty
percent from three early on his career, then got up to thirty seven and
a half percent thirty eight percent, and then his last season with Chicago last
year or two years ago, basicallyhas shot forty two percent from three,

(13:22):
but also in a smaller sample sizejust thirty five games. But that's somebody
who has turned their jump shooting around, so it can be done. It's
something that can happen. The questionis will it happen? We don't know.
And we're talking about Amen Thompson's shooting. Of course, who that Rockets

(13:43):
took number four overall explosive athlete, supposed to be like a top one percent
athlete, and immediately all the reportsof the workouts and even Ralph Elstone talking
about it, gushing over the athleticism, like maybe the best athlete ever seen
by Roth Elstone and other people aroundthe NBA. And that's saying a lot

(14:05):
and a league full of guys whoare obviously known for their freakish athleticism.
So if you've got that and hecan playmake and you can break down and
build back up, his shooting motiontoo serviceable and hopefully above look out,
I would say I'm excited about thepick that the Rockets got there at number

(14:26):
four seven two one two five sevenninety the phone number if you'd like to
get in a seven one three twoone two five seven ninety Sports Touch tweeting
Anne Thompson can't shoot, So you'retelling us Rockets drafted the offensive version of
Ben Simmons, And unfortunately for I'min Thompson. There have been those Ben
Simmons comparisons. Now, if youan early career Ben Simmons, three time

(14:48):
All Star, two time All Defensiveplayer, was on an All NBA team,
I don't remember if it was first, second, or third, but
he's been All NBA, not theworst thing in the world. But now
it just seems like Ben Simmons ismentally shot and Ken has never been able
to shoot, whether it be fromthe three point line, the floor,
or the free throw line. Soyou would hopefully, I mean, you

(15:11):
would hope that Amen Thompson won't belike that or a guy like Mark l
Foltz who just was never able toshoot, never able to turn it around
in terms of shooting from the floor. You would hope he'd be the guys
that I mentioned previously, the ReggieJackson to the Lonzo Balls Jason kids.
Whoever, rather than somebody like aBen Simmons who has just been a poor

(15:33):
shooter his whole career, went fromAll NBA, All defense to complete shell
of himself and a sad story. And I hopefully he can get it together
because the talent obviously is there formister Simmons and Hopefully that's not something that's
going to happen in Houston. Sevenone two one two five seven ninety.
The phone number, as I mentioned, couple on hold. So let's get

(15:54):
after Luke and Parland holding longest Luke, They'll go ahead. The floor is
wars. How are you doing right? I'm doing great, Luke. What's
up? Awesome? So I justwant to tell that texture or whoever that
guy was that tweeter okay, firstof all, and excuse me, I'm
gonna I'm going to ramp doctor BenSimmons comparisons. Ben Simmons did not want

(16:17):
to even try to learn how toshoot a basketball. That's Ben Simmons fault.
Then Simmons can go ahead and suckit. He sucks now and he
was he was horrible before. Ifyou have an attitude where you don't want
to learn how to shoot, you'renot gonna learn how to shoot. I'm
in Thompson from what I've heard,he walks to it with Ben souls and
in the gym for four to fivehours a day and learn how to shoot
the dog. Go one basketball, that's up Ben Simmons like then Simmons are

(16:41):
just like he would throw his handsup and say, you know, why,
screw it. I'm not gonna goshoot and I'm just gonna fail.
And that's why he failed in Philadelphiaand that's why he's never gonna probably play
again. And then second of all, okay, loo, if Monzo Baller
how to shoot, but Lonzo isstill not the greatest shooter. I promise
you Lanzo is a below average shooter. And then Thompson could be better than
that. And then the Russell Westbercomparisons kind of spun on with the three

(17:03):
point ars. I'm always asking fora mean Johnson has learned how to shoot
the basketball. I don't care, because here's the thing. When you have
a guy like Jalen Green and JamarSmith Junior and Camp Britmore is as good
as we hear him say, asa three point shooter, you can you
can rely on those three guys. And if you can find somebody in a
star besides besides out Pe to shootthe ball, I'll take it. But

(17:26):
I don't I'm not going ammend tobe the best shoot in the world.
Just get the get he needs. He needs to get it in the mid
range and his free his free throwshooting needs to be good. That's all
I gotta say so. And alsogo asters, they remember wins the night.
Yeah, all right, thanks alot, Luke appreciate it. Yeah,
ghost Shrow's baby, Let's go getthose wins. But I would disagree
with the statement that Lonzo Ball isa below average shooter. He's really turned

(17:48):
it around his last three seasons now. He's been hurt a lot, and
I don't know, did you eversee anything trade Was it like his aunt,
those aunt those Chinese shoes or notthe the BBB shoes like tore up
his feet or something and possibly ruinedhis career. Yeah, I'm not a
doctor on that, so I'm notgonna run with that. I'm just gonna
say he's had some injury issues lately. But in his last three seasons,
one hundred and fifty three games,so that's still about two seasons worth of

(18:12):
games, and taking seven threes agame, that's a lot. He's been
at almost thirty nine percent, thirtyeight point seven percent from three. That
is damn good. And you wouldtake that, you would you would be
praying to get that from I'm inexcuse my punt, but it would be
great, It would be great. And yeah, I mean, yeah,

(18:36):
somebody pointing out to me on Twitter, women Yama doesn't shoot well from three.
Yeah, I think a lot ofthat is him taking a bunch of
really difficult shots. He's gonna haveto get a lot better at his shot
selection because Wimby can make the mostdifficult shots in the entire world. So
he chucks them up there, andit's it's not gonna play like that in
the NBA. I think with bettershot selection women Yama's numbers will go up.

(18:59):
And then, of course, whichis working on his game as well,
his numbers are gonna go up.But yeah, as far as I'm
in Thompson, we'll see he's he'seighteen years old. The book is not
written on him. He didn't turnnineteen for two and a half weeks.
Almost just insane stuff, how younghe is, and so oh no,

(19:19):
I'm sorry, Cam Whitmore is eighteen. I'm getting my mom in Thompson.
I'm getting my cams in my amends. Cam Whitmore is eighteen. Excuse me,
I'm in. I believe he's twenty. Anyways, he's young too.
The point is they're all young. They haven't set set foot on an NBA
court. Sorry, for that briefmoment of uh, misinformation, Let's go
to Marvin holding the longest. Now, what's up, Marvin? Hey,

(19:41):
we're you know, I followed baseballclin but in times of this, and
I don't get me wrong with tournamentTom throws around. I'm surprised I didn't
know more about the Scott Thompson. But you know, I'll follow you to.
Yeah, he didn't play college ball. He was in the overtime elite
league. Well it's probably why,you know, but but uh, I'm

(20:02):
like, we have shooters if youhad the computer, this guy because aren't
heard. Really it's what he can'tdo. But if you know, you
know, we know that the rodMens and the Draymonds, they have value,
came in the league not really personallybeing shooters. What what would you
say that the stopped and the reasonwhat they saw that they tasted him more
so, you know, was itrebounding? Yeah, it's yeah, it's

(20:26):
the athleticism and the playmaking ability thathe has. Marvin, And thank you
for making a call where you gotto get to a break here pretty soon.
But it's funny. I was actuallylistening to a podcast a couple of
days ago. I was trying tobrush up on my uh just my NBA
pre draft stuff and it was theRinger Podcast, and forgive me, I
can't remember who the two guys hostingit, but they were like, we
can't even come up with a comparisonof Amen Thompson because he is so unique

(20:49):
as a prospect. I think oneof the things they said was basically like
a taller John Morant. Think ofsomebody who is lightning quick to the basket
and can step back three and JohnMorenz not a great shooter, but still
an electric offensive weapon, pretty solidon ball playmaking of skills as well,

(21:11):
great handle, speed, explosiveness, scoring on transition. Nobody can keep up
with them. So it was Ican't remember the other comparison they're making.
It was like a shorter this guyor a taller this guy like that,
He's so such an athletic freak it'shard to even make a comparison for Amen

(21:32):
Thompson and the athleticism and freakish justathlete that he is with combined with pretty
good playmaking ability as a six sevenwing really more like a point guard.
So I'm excited to have him andif he can develop a jump shot,
look out, complete offensive player andcan play well in the defensive end.

(21:53):
Not as good as his brother, but the athletic capabilities there so then if
the want two gets there as well, then he can be a very good
plus perimeter defender as well. Allright, we are gonna go ahead and
take that break here on Sports Talkseven ninety. My name is ros vir
Real. You want to get in, phone lines are open for you at
seven one three two one two fiveseven ninety seven one three two one two

(22:14):
five seven ninety Back in a secondit with some headlines all the top sports
news items of the day with TreyCampbell six thirty four here in the PM
on Sports Talks seven already, welcomeback to the nightcap with you until seven
o'clock ros Via Real and Trey Campbell, who was now bringing us all the

(22:40):
top sports news items of the dayin a segment we call headlines. Trey,
where's the NASCAR race this weekend?Nashville? Okay it's a big one?
Yeah, well sort Okay, weekis the big one? Isn't every
week big? It's the same fieldevery week? Right pretty much? Okay?
Next week is a mark key event? Oh what's that? It's at

(23:00):
the Chicago. It's on the streetsof Chicago. Oh all right, well
I knew I know where you're coming. I'm not saying anything. What you're
gonna say, Oh, I thinkgonna get an escort around the track.
No, I was gonna talk aboutDeep Ditch pizza. I was going with
the other Chicago stereotype. I don'tlike deep dish pizza that much. Why
not? I don't know it's delicioustoo much. Side people like, oh,

(23:23):
if you want to eat this, why don't you just have a lasagna?
Or why don't I have a DeepDitch pizza deep dish pizza. I
can have both. Lasagna's delicious andfantastic. I love me some New York
style pizza, and I also loveme Chicago style pizza. You don't have
to pick a side. You canlike them both. Just like when everyone's
are you about in and Out andwater burger? Guess what? I'm eating
them both? Brother, It's okay, Ross. You put a water burger

(23:45):
in front of me, in anin and out burger in front of me.
Guess what? I'm eating them both? What if you took the water
burger Patty and put it on thein and out bun. M. I
don't know. I think the waterBurger bun is better because of the buttery
bun. I like the I loveI think the Yeah, I think the
Patty is is better and well morequality at it in and out. Anyways,

(24:06):
let's not get into this tray. What do we have for top sports
news items of the day? Okay, So the Astros have just put out
their lineup on Twitter. I knowthis because I've gotten like hundreds of notifications.
You have one hundred at least, how because I'm are you running the
Astro's Twitter account? Yeah, butit's you, You're the admin, that's

(24:26):
correct. But no, um,the Astro's Twitter account has put out the
lineup. Jose Altuve of course leadingoff, Dubon batting second, Kyle Tucker.
Where's Dubon playing? Tray, He'splaying first base? Okay, I'm
sorry. Keep going with the lineup. You got Bregman batting fourth, Yanier
batting fifth, Jolt sixth, Paniseventh, McCormick batting eighth, and Martin

(24:52):
Meldonado rounding out. Where's jo Jo? Brayu is notably omitted, So he
was out on the day game onWednesday, out on the off day Thursday
and now out on Friday as well. Who is jose Brew Okay, that's

(25:15):
the question. Oh my god,how about this comment? I hope we
try to break you with the deadline. How's he gonna have? He says,
well, if he has any valueleft, you just answer your own
questions. Yeah, yeah, who'sgonna take the thirty six year old first
baseman who can't hit his weight andis on a three year deal for sixty
million dollars? Stop the royals theysee, not even the ros cast offs

(25:37):
they got on pitching Night. Sovery interesting. I wonder what the forward
plan is or just an extended timeoff to clear the head for one jose
A brey Tray continue. Okay,so we have more Astro's related headline.
Okay, one's pretty somber, butwe kind of one we kind of kind
of figured it was coming. Butthe other is a little bit surprising.

(25:59):
Jose Or Keatie and Michael Brantley haveboth been moved to the sixty day DL.
Keatie, I'm not as surprised, but Brantley he was on his way
back. Well no, well thisthese are well yeah, as Chandler Rome
said, this is just This isfor like house cleaning for the roster if
you cannot move. All right,So there's the forty man roster, right.

(26:21):
In order to put somebody on theforty man roster, you have to
either take them off as in getrid of them, or you have to
put them on the sixty day IL. And you're not allowed to put
anybody on the sixty day I Lunless there's already going to be a corresponding
move. You can't put a coupleof guys on there and say, oh,
we got two free spots. Youhave to be at Max's capacity and

(26:42):
then move guys. So that's what'shappening here. Because Chandler Rome mentioned that
this doesn't have anything to do withthe timelines of either Brantley or a Keatie,
so you can rest easy, Tray, Okay, thank god. That
was scared me a little bit whenI saw that. I was thinking,
man, I thought Brantley was aboutto come back. But it's looking a
little bit more positive. Yeah,it's been over sixty days for both of

(27:06):
them. I think. Well,I don't know about Rachiti, but certainly
Brandley. I mean that dude hasn'tplayed a he hasn't swung a bat or
fielded a pitch or done anything forthe Astros this season, unfortunately earning his
twelve million dollars salary. But anyway, le's go ahead, tray what else
you got? Okay? So nowthis is where these are where the headlines
get a little bit ridiculous. Um, you're you're familiar with Carson Wentz,

(27:29):
right, yes, quarterback. Ohhe's a free agent. Yeah. I
don't think he's on a team rightnow. That's unfortunate. But m Carson
Wentz went hunting and as he is, wont to do yes in Alaska.
Oh really, and he killed abear with a bow. He killed a
bear and people are mad about it. They're so, oh boy, what

(27:52):
happened? And you just kill itfor sport. I think he got the
opportunity to spot and stalk bear andone of our new favorite places on Earth,
Alaska. That's what Carson Wentz saidin the caption, as he's sitting
over a dead bear. And well, let me tell you something about hunting.

(28:12):
I mean, I've been deer huntingwhen I was a kid. We
grew up in Texas. Go Trey. I imagine you've been hunting as well,
yeah, I just held the gun. I just philosophically, I'm more
on board with utilitarian hunting, asin, you kill a deer, you
get it processed, chopped it up, you eat the deer. Hunting for
food. I'm down with that. And maybe it's because I like nature,

(28:33):
or you can call me a hippieor whatever. I'm less down with hunting
for sport. Like Carson Wentz isn'tfreezing in the cold Alaskan winter and needs
to kill a bear in order touse its fur to stay warm so he
can stay alive. In that instance, I get it. Like I said,
I'm on totally on fishing. Whateveryou go. Okay, I've been

(28:56):
fishing dozens of times, and youcatch a fish, you get the fish,
and you eat the fish. That'sutilitarian. I'm more on board with
that. I'm not mad at CarsonWentz because it is what it is.
It's not gonna change anything, andI'm not gonna like start protesting and booing
Carson Wentz or whatever. But justin general me personally, I like when

(29:18):
people hunt utilitarian rather than for sport, because I mean, black bears are
beautiful animals and leave them in peace. That's my opinion, if only Carson
Wentz was as accurate with the play. Oh, here we go against the
Jacksonville jack Well, you don't knowthat. Maybe he went one for eight
though the shots. All we everget is the picture. Yeah, maybe

(29:40):
maybe his wife. What's this? What's his completion percentage out there shooting the
Black Bears? Yeah, clearly it'swell, you don't know what if it
took him several shots. We'd haveto ask Carson. H Just my opinion.
All right, anyways, what elseyou got, treke? Okay,
so you're familiar with Elon Musk andMark Zuckerberg, right, Yes, billionaires

(30:04):
were rich beyond my wildest dreams.Well, these two billionaires want to get
and they both run crappy social mediaprograms. I hate Facebook, Twitter,
I don't know about They're both terriblewaste lands. But apparently they want to
they want to challenge, They wantto take this to the octagon. Is
this really happening? I saw thison Twitter? Our Elon Musk and Mark

(30:26):
Zuckerberg actually gonna fight according to DanaWhite, Really, Dana White is Sanction's
gonna be UFC three hundred and seventysix Zuckerberg versus Musk. Right, Yeah,
it'll be in the T Mobile Arenain Las Vegas, pomp okay,
but yeah, they want to theapparently the biggest hurdle, and this is

(30:48):
their weight differences. Oh okay, they're not in the same weight class.
I don't think so. No.I think one's a welterweight, one's a
bantam where. Oh that's well, somebody's gonna have to cut some weight you
get to you're saying it's a catchweighttype of situation. It's looking like it
is. Okay, but who wouldyou take? I don't know. I
know I've seen pictures in videos ofZuckerberg working on his fighting what what is

(31:11):
Elon Musk's fighting prowess? I don'tthink there is any. I don't think
any of these guys. Have youever gotten any like rounds in the rings
or anything. I don't think so. I would favor whoever has more.
Well, Also, what's the agedifferent? How old is Elon Musk?
He's not old, right, he'snot young from fifty but yeah about that.
Let me see Elon Musk is fiftyone and Mark Zuckerberg thirty nine.

(31:40):
Oh yeah, that seems like thatseems kind of unfair. Yeah, but
does Elon Musk Is he the onewith the weight? Yeah, Elon mud
that could be an equalizer tray,Yeah, that that could this topic difference.
I think I gotta make it.I think I gotta make Mark Zuckerberg
at minus one sixty right now? What do you think? Yeah? But
I would say Mark Zuckerberg has theminus in front of his name, But

(32:01):
I think so. But yeah,I'm looking forward to this fight. I
would buy it. Okay, we'regonna get it on UFC. I'm sure
it'll be terrible and there will begas within three minutes. Yeah, I
don't think they'd I think they'd in'tin a draw because neither one could go
the whole. Yeah, the whole. Elon's worth Moore though? Now these

(32:21):
days, right, I think theFacebook stock tank hard. Yeah. I
think after you kept on getting everytime about your tie the third time in
front of Congress, stock prices mightgo down a little bit. Anyways,

It's stupid, okay, And it'snot you, not you, but
a couple of guys I heard inthe afternoon might be some kind of team
or something like that. There's well, and first off, nap Thomas again
with me a happy Memorial day.I nitpicked on him that year. It's
not a happy accasement, it's memorial. But anyway, Uh, okay,

(34:20):
but you want to be happy overthe weekend, right, I mean do
you want to be sad? Yeah? I want to be respectful. Okay,
Well, yeah, that is nitpicking, Like you said, go ahead,
it's a nitpick okay. But thephrase is not s he is want
to do. You're trying to soundsmart, but you make yourself sound stupid.
It is s he is won't wont to do now? Number say

(34:44):
again, w what w o NTnot want? It's won't to do there's
no apostrophe though I didn't say therewas an apostrophe. Okay, it's w
o nt as he is won't todo now. I think both pronunciations are

(35:05):
acceptable. Wow. Okay, wellyou'd think that if you want it.
Okay, I've got no problem withthat. Now the other one. My
definition myriad is thousands of, Soyou don't say a myriad of okay,
I never did. I say that. No, no, And you can't
say mirriad. It's actually both anadjective. Go ahead, Lord, that's

(35:27):
it, That's all I got.Bro. Well, I'm delirious from the
heat. I couldn't get into myman, so I'm in here from my
kids. Please. Ye. It'sa noun and an adjective. It can
be used both ways, Paul,So you're I think you're over two here,
Bud, I've been worse. Okay, all right, thanks? Whoa?

(35:49):
All right, quite the linguist.Let's here, let's hear this.
Hold on, I'm gonna play thishere off my laptop one one? What
does that sound like to you?Trey one? Want? Won't you what?
You? What? Mate? Want? Want? Want? I don't
know. Miriam Webster says, wantis fine. And then myriad can be

(36:10):
both used as a noun or anadjective, So you can say myriad of
and you can say myriads. It'sboth. You only hear this type of
analysis on the night Holy crap,Steve, please help me. I don't
know how to follow that up,but I did want to do it with
the shout out to dumb ass BillPlashky because he forgot a couple of things

(36:32):
in his little article today. Okay, great, you forgot that Ashows are
reigning World Series stamps, and we'vetried to give the Dodgers a World Series
rematch the last two years, butthey're now holding up. They're part of
the bargain. Those are good points. And he also forgot to put that
Mookie Betts was on a team thatwas cheated multiple times and punished by the

(36:54):
Major League Baseball another very valid point. So Bill Plashy, shut show,
dumb ass, bumbass hack ass y. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about,
Steve. Yeah, I appreciate it, Bill Plashky. He probably didn't
even mention that the Astros or raigningWorld Series champions in the article. If

(37:15):
I didn't read the article. I'mtaking Steve's word for it. I'm not
gonna give Steve bill Plashky the clicks. I'm not gonna give him the satisfaction.
I'm not gonna give him the timeto day he's been muted for years.
He's terrible, he's a hack.He's either an idiot or a troll,
and I have time for neither. So yeah, if it is article.
He didn't even mention that the Astrosare raiding World Series champions. That

(37:37):
is a gross oversight. How abouthe also mentioned that there's only two Astros
left on the team playing from thatteam, and one of them, Hosale
Twomey, did not even participate inthe cheating scheme. The other one was
Alex Bregman and what like his secondyear in the league or third or whatever.

(38:00):
Jesus, he'll plash you the absoluteworst. And how about our good
friend Mookie bets On the seventeen RedSox were toward punished for the Apple watching
Apple Watch scheme. Justin in theeighteen Red Sox that were punished for the
JT. Watkins teeny or whatever whatevervideo room scheme punished twice. So let's

(38:22):
see. Let's keep score here,Mookie bets On the Dodgers two time cheater,
Alex Bregman of the Astros, onetime cheater, who we boing,
Let's figure this out, Bud.I think we should be bowing the Dodgers
more than the Astros in by mycount I hate the Dodgers. I'm sorry,

(38:43):
Trey, They're the worst team.Okay, anything else, no,
I just uh no, not that'sall. Okay, thank you Trey.
I appreciate it. But but yeah, I agree with you. Ross.
I appreciate it. Tree, thankyou very much. Um Okay, Well,

(39:04):
on that note, that is gonnado it. Appreciate Steve saving us
there, Bill Plash, you theabsolute worst. Don't click his article,
don't read his eyebrows. What's wrongwith the boomerangs? You know what?
I don't know. I haven't caughtup on where is he on TV or
something? No, I just googlethe picture of m Look. I'm not

(39:25):
gonna make fun of his physical appearance. It's just his takes are terrible.
I mean, I certainly well.I don't necessarily wish him the best in
all his life. I don't wishyou any harm upon him. But he
is He's a definition of a hackjournalist, and that's what he is.
And on that note, that's gonnado it. For the Nightcap program here
