last year. I said, what do you know about tailgating?

Oh yeah, last year, like last year, the year before,
I was I was because I played in Kansas City
and they was a big, big tail guy in Kansas City.
But I'm like, man, I ain't. My brother used to
give me trying to get out to go out the man,
I ain't going out there and I get blasted by
on people out there if I go out there. But
I was able to experience it last year. It was crazy,
man like two years ago. But last year I went

outter that they was. I had like a line just
following me here where I went. So I tried to
eat my eat. I had to eating contest with a
last year eating brisket, brisky sandwich. But it was pretty fun,
just able to experience tailgame with the music and drinks.

Really yeah, I think I'm beloved in Kansas City. I
mean I spend like a decade there of my career
there and it was, you know.

priest homes to you It's like it's not even fair.
Now they got to go to quarterbacks.

Oh yeah, Now like the it's definitely a pat and
Travis Kelsey's. They are basically made made king City into

but they made it to a state that you want

Kenna City got one of the historic stadiums in the

But why couldn't we be doing this winning when I

We was winning, but we wasn't there yet. You know

under me, under my wings, a lot of players like
how to be a profession of how to how to
be a player, how to how to approach the game.
And they saw me, and you know, I was just
happy that, you know what I'm saying, that they learned
from me. And I get that from Travis because when

I first came in, Travis to follow me everywhere. Yeah,
when he got drafted, and you know, the kid was
amazing how he was able to get open and make
plays and score like touchdowns from like forty yards like
you did. He had an awesome career.

Yeah? I'm definitely team My team is there. I had to,
you know what I'm saying. So, Uh, I had to
because of University of Texas. Uh, we're trying to come
in not saying we're gonna dominate, but you know, we
gotta we got our shoes to fill each and every week.
You know what I'm saying, These teams that are in
the SEC is no slouch over like in the Big twelve,
Like I feel like you can more relax, but now

like we play an indivision where you can't relax or
you're gonna get embarrassed.

Yeah, it is crazy to say it's Jamal, But twenty
years ago you and the Texas song Horns hoisted the
national Championship. Does it feel like it's been twenty years?
It doesn't feel like.

It doesn't feel like people keep saying that, and it
doesn't feel that at all. It feels weird, like like
more like fifteen years, not you know what I'm saying,
like twenty years. So uh, it's just it's crazy how
people bringing up the twenty years and making it like, man,
I feel like I'm an old man. Come on, you
can't say twenty years.

It is wild though, I mean, we want to talk
about one championship can change a life, a life for
everybody like v Y Vince Young. Everywhere he goes, he's
still a beloved and known for that game. Because if
y'all lose. It's a great season, it's a great career,
but nobody see changes.

Yeah, yeah, I think everybody life changes. I think I
wouldn't even be here if I won a natural championship,
you know what I'm saying. So I think everybody liked changes. Uh,
just being able what we did that year and winning
it was, you know, incredible. You know what I'm saying.
I haven't won after. I want that. I haven't won
like that ever again, experienced that feeling, that taste that

other people would love to feel again, like winning a
super Bowl. And that was my only super Bowl and
it was special to me. And it only happened because
I was nineteen. I suck though, you know, and I
couldn't go nowhere and I was at the hotel they
was going out. I was nineteen. Yeah, I had to
stay there any drink gatorading and play video games all night.

So probably for the best. But they was going out
with my master coming here. I was like, y'all going
out that we're going to the mansion.

I'm like, man, McConaughey, you can still team still hangs
out all the time. So it is wild to Texas.
I mean They've become kind of running back you here
the last two decades. Say it start, you know with
you and of course Johnson, Jonathan Brooks and this current
group CJ. Baxter's back healthy with who was awesome. Uh

what do you make of this this backfield this year?

I think it's excited to watch, you know what I'm
saying with baxing Ben out. You know what I'm saying
that he's going to be hungry, dedicated to show people.

running back and it's gonna bring the best of the
best out of him. You know what I'm saying. Being
like competing with each other. Uh, I think you're gonna
have a sharp mirriod of time of like, uh, your opportunity,

best because if not, I gotta get I gotta everybody
gonna get that. Gotta get a chance to get the ball.
If you don't do nothing with it, he's gonna only

going to bring a high competition between all the running

great season last year, so they know that this year

So just seeing him like the way he moved, like
mature and humble and and and just basically you know
what I'm saying, knowing that he's the opportunity that's coming up.
