Retaliating in a sense for losing their initial 3-game series to Baltimore just before rolling into Detroit, the Astros look to have shaken back into the groove of things as they roll back to Daikin, taking 3 of the 4 games from the Orioles on the road. With the day off yesterday and set to tee off their 9-game homestand today against the Rockies, Sean, Dan, and Chris share a few things to be aware of going into this homestand with the possibility of the Astros' power-hitter Yordan Alvarez, inching at a return to the lineup.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
So the division race getting even.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
I feared that on Sunday when when they lost that
one and the Mariners put it on the A's, I said, uh,
the Astors are off Monday, there's a chance of Seattle
beat San Diego. There we're going to go into Tuesday
just a game and a half up, and that's where
we are. So but again to your point, the good
news is sounds like Jordan is expected back tonight. You're

(00:25):
playing the lowly Colorado Rockies. What Steve Sparks tell you
guys yesterday about the run differential?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Like it'body and I Steve had mentioned it earlier. That's
why I said, it's near three fifty.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Everybody scores on them, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
So I'm with Steve though, too, Gordy, wouldn't it be
wouldn't you considered a loss of a series if you
if you win the series but don't sweep it.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
It's it's I'm talking about it.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Considering where we are in the season.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Right, I'll take two out of three. I mean, we
keep just keep doing two out of three, two out
of three, keep winning series. But I get it, they suck.
You should sweep them?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah? Should, I'd say failures probably, but a kind of
it's kind of a semi l for me. But you
kind of pardoned to Part five.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Head case Frouber on the mounta tomorrow, I mean from him.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, don't let Colorado come out in the first.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Inning and like, what the hell you doing?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I mean, that's that's been an issue for him, especially
the last five starts. I mean you mentioned it though
against a softer opponent, because I mean, the Rockies are
twenty eleven astros right now. It's not even remotely competitive there.
But I mean a good spot for jord On that
maybe he can get that confidence back of facing a
team that is completely depleted at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, by the way, for one hundred dollars, can you
name the Rockies manager?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
No, I know their bench coach. We know we both
know the bench coach because we had him on right
and he was the former manager.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
But no, pull that one to at the bar. See
if you can stump anybody with that one.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Is trying to make sure everything is going better.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, because you googled it, I'm ready you can't. You
can't google it. Triple Warren Schaeffer.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
You could have the famous you could have them in
this room right now, Paul Brother, there you go.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Well, why the.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Glasses the bald head, I get it, I see it now.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
And why would we say Jordon needs confidence to play
the Rockies. He just played the Rockies down in Corpus Christie. Yeah,
he might have played a better team than the Rockies.
It's I mean, but those I have told you this before,
they can be dangerous for the reason of you're just
free swinging man, and you may run into a couple.
And if you run into a couple early, I know
a left hander that gets a little sideways that were

(02:41):
waiting for him to get back on it. And fromber here,
as we talked about. So I just think this is
this is one of those where you get you you
extend your lead to three strokes with a with a
sweep of the series. You have to sweep this series.
They just finished the series. They got swept by the Pirates.
They scored zero one zero.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Row.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
You have your three best arms going Hunter Brown from
Berveld is Jason Alexander, go sweep these fours.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yes, you have to. I mean the truth is if
you score four runs a game, five or shouldn't you
win all three?

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yes? Absolutely, Well and The other part of it too
is I mean, we do the golf analogy all the
time of birdieing and eagling the par fives. I mean,
that's if you're going to finish this thing off, You're
gonna have to do it because you can't keep counting on. Well,
we lost tonight, but so did Seattle because that runs out.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I meant running into each other for three games at
some point, and then they get to play this Colorado
team one nine right here.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I mean, and you know, Seattle plays incredibly well at
home too. So if you can't take care of these
teams at home, which the last two times you've had
soft opponents come in here, you got swept by one
of them, which Cleveland's still somewhat in the playoff push,
and then the same a's.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Whole the padres last night. Yeah they did that's birdie
and or five. Yeah, that keeps you where you want
to be. Now they're a game and a half out,
so it's going to be the final week of the
season more than likely. But this is a type where
you just have to say enough's enough and you have
to bury this team three straight. You just do. They're
they're they're not really a formidable foe, even though they're pros.
The whole sum of it's just not good. There's not
