(00:02):
Sulby. Okay, let's do this. Sewn Salisbury, the USC true longtime
friend, Shawn Salisbury, Brian Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sewan
Salisbury Show. And don't look now, Shawn and tripley. The Texans schedule
(00:26):
has been released. Good morning, cue the clay Walker. It's football time
in Houston, song and let's roll. It is as it won three in
a row? Wow, for ina row? Actually four in a row?
Don't bury? The lead? Isthe lead? Seriously? Is the
(00:46):
lead frombers performance? Is the lead? Ten day suspension? Roe White,
Yeah, ro Blanco cor jokes,Corey jokes, also trading jokexy yep,
rom Row and Orz the lead theTexan schedule. What a late? What
(01:10):
a final stretch of three games, but you get a bye in like the
fourteen. What a draw? Whenit comes to the bye week late,
everybody wants to buye week late forrest, yep and recovery. So we'll
get to that too. But they'vethe Astros, speaking of your uh,
they've won six out of their lastseven. Yep, look out here they
come. Yeah, matter of fact, book it. I'm going I'm going
(01:38):
all in on twenty to one. What's the new mayor. I'm going in
on twenty to one, and themayor Whitmyer not the mayor here in Houston.
Uh right, yeah, yes,John Whitmire. John, if you're
listening, block off Louisiana Street forNovember. The parades coming back to town.
(02:00):
We'll probably have two parades in atwelve month span. They'll win.
Texans probably win a Super Bowl thisyear. Matter of fact, forget twelve
months within a three month span.Actually, you know the first championship is
probably gonna be here, is uhSaberCats, Yes, they are nine and
one. Yep. What do theywin? Is that the shield or something
like that. Hey, it's whateverthey want it to be. Okay,
(02:22):
in all reality, they it's atrophy of califlower ere. They are literally
the best team in maybe one. They are kicking ass. A matter of
fact, we might have to takea few of those guys lining them up
and running down the special teams ontoTexans. SaberCats are lights out. They
are love it. They're gonna hosta playoff game. Keep on, keep
keep winning. But in all seriousness, fromber Valdez dealt last night. That's
(02:45):
the fromber that we know and love. Yes, there you go. And
after that Balk that he had througha little too many pitches, probably could
have gone into the eighth. ButSeth Martinez comes in, throws two solid
innings and boom they get out ofthere. One of the hidden gems,
one of the hidden gems of theAstros this year is Seth Martinez. Not
(03:07):
to be confused with Sepstraca. Bythe way, did you bury the PGA
Championship today? What's that? Theopening of the of the second major?
Oh? They got that today?Did you did you bury that? I
was you're in twenty seven? Iwas balls deep in the in the schedule
these last night? You were whatI was? Balls deep? I was,
man, did you do you havea Do you have a blow up
at home? It's like a theNFL schedule blow up that you were balls
(03:28):
deep? No, but I dohave a like a like a mural to
Roger Goodell? Whoa, So youwere b d with Roger? Yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, meand me and Roger not together, but
like you know, did you wewe we're big fans of the Shield.
You're a big Shield guy. Yeah. See, so I mean what a
day? Yeah. Cromber Road Blancoschedule yes, Uh what five out of
(03:54):
six or six out of seven?Six out of seven? Yeah? What
else did you say? Oh?PGA Championship. Ry McElroy NBA playoffs and
wins last week filing for divorce. He'll be on the Live Tour in about
though, two weeks after Mama takeshalf. He should have waited or he
should have done it before he wonthe tournament, because that just adds into
(04:16):
his his his net worth, andshe's gonna take half anyway. Don't just
don't just don't just count the lady. Maybe it's wrong. Maybe maybe it's
it's you know what, it's probablymutual. I doubt it. Maybe maybe
maybe Rory heard it, you knowwhat. The best way to say,
we don't like each other anymore.Irreconcilable differences. Okay, but I don't
know what it is. It's Ifeel bad. Nobody likes to go through
(04:41):
that. But it did not affecthim last week. I know, sure
it didn't. He was playing freeand easy. Yeah, but you know,
with kids, that's hard, man, it is hard. I don't
like see anybody go through divorce. But and I kid when I say,
well, living off from about eighthundred million, he may just say yeah,
but they will let me wait tillthe divorce before I go to live.
Did I don't have to give apath, But that's some It sucks
(05:03):
though he's going through it. Iwonder how I honestly, he didn't,
you know, going through it.He probably knew that he was getting ready
to file it anyway, right,I'm wondering if probably if well, I
don't know, maybe mine wasn't ongolf. Maybe And you know, you
think obviously with the family and thedivorced situation, and who knows the reason
why it's I don't really care toknow the reason why, other than you
(05:25):
know with children that you hope thateverybody you parent righte and do the right
thing. But I always wonder howit's gonna affect it, Like at a
major, does he go in relaxedand just where it's everything else where you
just are swinging the club because yousay, hey, family is more important.
I'm not. You know, lookwhat Scheffler did when a baby was
you know, his wife was pregnant. You go out there and keep dominating.
(05:45):
It's almost as if the more importantthing kind of keeps your mind so
you're not really sitting there grinding onshops, right, and maybe that's it,
and it works the other way sometimesthat the stress. Some can't handle
it. So I wonder how mclroyis gonna play. But I never like
to see anybody go through that. But it starts today, man, and
there if you can smoke the balldown the fairway, and obviously pep,
but this is a this is wherethis is a course that favors long hitters.
(06:08):
And McElroy is the best driver inthe world. But I don't know
how you bet against the guy whowins all the time. Everybody seems to
be playing for second place when he'sin a tournament. Meeting Scheffler. So
we'll make our three picks and thenone if there's a tiebreaker today, Man,
got some interesting topics that are trendingon my Twitter this morning. Yeah,
first one from ber Valdez. Yeah, obviously because he pitched very well
(06:30):
last night. Then you got JimmyCarter, then Colin Kaepernick, you might
want to call him President Carter. Then Aaron Rodgers, and then for whatever
reason, Chris Jericho. Oh,are we being told to say? Is
it trending that Kaepernick should be inthe league? Are we still there?
That the guy could be a starterin the NFL. I haven't even clicked
it. I have no idea whyhe's trending. I know why Aaron Rodgers
(06:53):
are training. He was on withOh my gosh, who's Tucker Carlson.
Uh, and he talked about PatTillman. He had some interesting uh views
on Pat Tilly. That's a good, good topic conversation to have when you
want to talk about real sacrifice.Yeah he uh yeah, he went into
(07:14):
some uh it's a conspiracy theory ofhis, which we know Aaron Rodgers has.
But yeah, that was I'm assumingthat's why I'm not even touching that
one. And then, uh,I don't even know what he said about
him, but whatever, if ifanything that's said good about Pat Tillman,
it was, it was base it'sgood. It's then didn't buy into it
because Pat Tillman was a one hellof an individual. And you know,
people say, oh, I'd gofight for my country, I'd give up
(07:35):
my career. He literally gave upa new contract to go pay the ultimate
sacrifice for his country. Yeah,he nine to eleven affected him that much.
It was nine to eleven, right, Yes, it was nine eleven,
right, yeah. Yeah, uh, basically he and get why it
affected him, but he put hismoney where his mouth is, that's for
sure, and cost him his lifetrying to think. Yeah. So basically
(07:58):
he in this one of these clipshe said that the US government and Pat
Tillman confiscating or I'm sorry, confiscatedPat Tillman's journal and used his sacrifice and
debt to prop up propaganda in twothousand and four. So that stuff I
have not about. I don't either, That's why he's trending. I just
know Pat McAfee's a hell of agood dude, was Pat Tillman, And
(08:22):
what I say, McAfee Rodgers isalways on McAfee's show, right, Yeah,
And obviously McAfee's a good guy too. But Pat Tillman's a and I
mean this with a treasure man.Yeah. I mean, when you want
to look at if you tell yourkids, man, you want to talk
about somebody who gave up, whodid what you know most wouldn't do.
(08:45):
Pat Tillman's that guy. That's prettycrazy, man. He had got a
new contract and was a hell ofa football player and a as you can
imagine, a nasty on the field. I mean, made a respectful I
mean knock you. You know,Mama, say knock you out right,
and you get hit that hard likea lot of people did, not only
losing lives and family members losing lives, but the images of that and saying
(09:07):
I've had it. Yeah, andyou decide to give up your in the
prime of your NFL playing career tosay I'm not playing anymore. I'm gonna
go do exactly what I tell youI do. When you know, when
you're sitting around the bar, weall say it. But when it gets
right down to nut and cut time, nut, cut in time, how
many are willing to say, youknow what, I Am going to give
it up and go. And there'smore than just Pat Tillman. Don't mist
(09:28):
understand me, but that that guy. And you know, I'm sure people
are like what what and for familyand stuff and then the way it ended
so sad and so tragic. Butuh, that guy. I don't know
how anybody could ever say anything badabout him because he's got He's got guts
that the majority of the world doesn'thave. He was an All American in
(09:50):
Arizona State, phenomenal NFL career, who's the offensive lineman for the for the
Steelers that was in the military aswell, not Villanueva's Yeah is a villain.
Yeah yeah, he was like activeduty while you're still playing in the
NFL. Yeah, I'm mistaken. And uh a, you know, through
and through loves this country and yousaw him during times, and I love
(10:13):
guys like that who do stuff thatthe majority of us may not have the
guts to do. I don't,that's right. Phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal.
Yeah, I don't have the wellyou'd be that's a long line. You're
standing in long unless you were forcedto do it. Yeah, that's what
I'm saying. How many people arestepping up doing it when when it's just
(10:37):
you're just doing it on your ownand you're sitting on a three or four
million dollar contract in the prime ofyour career and knowing the risks of going
over there. So yeah, Idon't. I don't know what Aaron said
about it, but there's a lotof you know, he's got his opinion
on a lot of things, whichis fine. Yeah, you can read
it by intwit or do whatever youwant with it, but a lot of
good things and fromber looked like ana last night I was gonna say,
(11:01):
as we get into the next segment, by the stock of fromer Valdez.
You know why, because he's back, what do you do? You can
go a little long more on himby what is it? What is it?
By low? Sell high? That'sthat's rule one on one in the
business. Stock goes a little lowafter his last outing, a little shakey
coming off the I l from hisuh quote unquote injury. Maybe just need
(11:26):
a couple of weeks off. Idon't know, soreness, soreness. That's
right. Stock was a little low. Should have bought last week, damn
it. Yeah, that's why youbuy the astros now, Yeah, Mattress
Mac came on. Was twenty ortwenty five to one, twenty to one,
twenty one. Max's wife said,it's twenty to one. Now time
to go. Maybe have to getup to get get your butt at the
Lake trials. Right, I'm I'maway. If there's a if there's a
(11:48):
a convoy, I'm in it.Mac by it there you go, Hey,
Triple good morning. Oh so nowyou recognize Triple A h Why say
it? Every I mean I recognizeus all on the show. It's in
my headline every program. What arethe fools got to do better? Better
recognize? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just want to make sure Tripley
was here. Yeah, he's herehere, there he is, he always
(12:11):
is. Yeah, treating people withrespect every time they call too. Yeah,
what's on the cut list today?I'm not going to sing though today.
I think we need seventies Like aseventies is a good any I call
it genera genre genre. I wanteighties rock today. I want the first
(12:31):
one. I want you to startLeopard here's what I Yeah, we can
go there too, yeah, police, Yeah, you want to go at
all? I would like Beg's tostart even better. Six Yeah, the
next one. Think about this TripleE nights on Broadway. Okay for the
Beg's get it fired up? Whyyou laugh? Tripley? You think that's
funny? He went real bad onyou right there, Triple Up. Meet
(12:56):
me in my office after work.Dad would say that, when I can
home, meet me in my office. Oh my gosh. All right,
let's look at frombers outing last nightwith Yah. There you go fromer Valdez
efficient he shoved last night. Let'stake a look at it next. On
Sports Talk seven ninety, Let's gothis is the Sean Salisbury Show. Renew
(13:24):
Blancos haspended ten games for Sticky Substance. The NFL schedules released. We're gonna
go through the Texans schedule in theeight o'clock hour, starting right at eight
o'clock sharp. Let's talk about theseHouston Astros. Sean Fromer Valdez struck out
eight in seven innings. He onlygives up two hits and they win three
(13:48):
nothing. They have one four ina row. And this is what you
needed to do against a lesser team. You had to come in and in
this series, and they've already donethat. Now, don't let up and
go get the sweep. Bryant, listen for a second. I want you
to understand something. Okay, whatare you laugh at at? Nothing?
(14:11):
Nothing? I'm going to validate whatyou're saying about Fader. Are you a
framber of Fromber guy? I'm aFrommer guy. I was a guy.
But you're a framer of Valdez.Now you're a f Fromber of Valdez guy
Fromber. Yeah. Yeah, I'vebeen a Fromer Valdez guy. When we
went into this series, it wasyou hat. Well, it goes back
(14:31):
to this is these are all, this is a birdie hole. Three four
straight games. Now, they listen, they'll grind. Now, look at
they've had to grind out other thanthe one they've had to grind out victories
against Oakland. What do we saygoing in? They they're they're gonna,
They're gonna. They're that person whotakes body blows and just hangs around right
now. The problem is unless theyget to the closer, there's just not
(14:54):
Even though they've scored runs this year, the Astros have kept them down there.
There's not a lot a ton ofsuperstar pop in the does that make
sense? So with that but thatteeth, I'm going to tell you what,
if you decide to show up andflounder around, they'll beat you.
And you've had to get good performancesbullpen and starting pitching to beat them the
last two games. So we saidgoing into this, you have to birdy
(15:18):
these and in truth, it can'tbe a two to two split. It's
three wanter sweep them. These arethe ones. Yet you absolutely have to
dominate series like this because as muchrespect as I have for the Oakland team,
the talent pool is way different thanwhat you're running out there here and
it's been different. Martinez does hisjob the rest of the bullpen. The
(15:39):
night before starting pitching fromber and Ronellestarted out, well, Rowe as I
like to call him. Before wesaw that ten game suspension that we'll get
to and you know, getting ejectedfrom the game. Bregman boom Bat gets
rolling. Tucker just does his thing. It's been somebody paying you two more
hits last night, guys hitting whatthree thirty three I think now, So
it just has been this is whenthe Asses are at their best. When
(16:03):
one guy may have a night wherehe struggles, the next guy picks him
up. And this is what we'reused to with them. And this is
also what you're used to. Winningat home. Last year was a struggle
winning at home, which they've donenow three in a row, and beating
teams you are supposed to beat inthe end of the season. You're not
going to go back and say, hey, we got beat by Garrett Cole.
(16:25):
Well, of course people get beatby Garrett Cole when he's healthy at
times, right, you're gonna losesome of those Oh the Rangers got us
once because they scored nine runs,Well, get in line, they're going
to score nine runs against a lotof teams. It's the when you run
into these teams that you look backand say, how did we give eight
of these away? How hell theydid it last year and put themselves in
a position that said, we gotto go beat two good teams down the
(16:51):
stretch to get into the damn thingand win the division. So what five
out of six? As we've mentionedbefore, you had to do it,
and you made the point of fromand I don't care that they he and
SSTs shut him out, you know, three to nothing against the team they're
supposed to be. You still gotto perform because the other team does get
paid, so you know, alsotakes his ones. And in those type
(17:12):
of games it takes is a walk, a cheap single, and a three
run homer to tie the game andto be able to stay away from that.
And what's Fromer's strength, it's alwaysbeen keeping the ball down and it
limited what two walks last night eightstrikeouts, so he limited his uh,
you know, the walks and thewalks for the pitching staff for the most
part, the last handful of startshas gone down right and then and there
(17:34):
is a direct Bregman the correlation ofwalks and getting deeper in games and bullpens
and okay, now we don't haveto use six bullpen cats in this game.
So it is there is a correlation. And this is good when I
know people out there that the naysayersare going to say, I'm not talking
about our callers, but people outthere, whether it's national or or or
(17:56):
the people who get frustrated, saywe're still not there. They haven't arrived
yet. They got a ways togo. They're still six with five and
a half or six and a halfout because both the Rangers and the Mariners
won last night, so they stillare in that chase mode. Yeah,
five and a half, so they'restill in that and they know the grind.
That's why you can't let up onthese type of series. And they
(18:18):
haven't so impressive. A ways togo, but also I love that they're
winning without the last two games they'vewon without scoring ten runs. Yeah one,
because most you're gonna live more onthis side of six runs than you
are on the north side of sixruns. How's your staff do? Pitching
(18:40):
staff and timely hitting has been betterthe last six seven eight games than it
has been all year. It's agood thing to see no matter who you're
playing. Can't lose these games, and they got to stay even though you've
won three and won the series already. Don't stop. Now there's another one
tonight. Wish it was a daygame today, but has got to go,
(19:00):
but you stay here, but stillperfect time for a dig I like
the game. Yeah, man,it would have been a good day to
go to the ballpark too, rightthat game yesterday, two hours and four
minutes. That's also the way baseballis supposed to be played, and that's
when Frober's working. Boom boom, boom, go go go four minutes.
Absolutely love it. Let's play two. Gotten better early last night too,
(19:21):
man. I got in bed ateight fifteen early. Yeah. Next thing,
you know, I was kind ofwoke up at ten and I was
like, oh, what's the score? Oh wait, they're already done,
man, efficient like effiicient two hoursand four minutes. You imagine being in
a ballpark for that one. Yeah, you know, you get up to
get a beer. Next thing, you know, it's the eighth inning.
Don't take a long, don't stayalong, and I'll see you. It's
(19:41):
probably like a white wine spritzer.Though you're telling me a guy who drinks
whiskey, what is it not Truly'sI don't drink truly, Sean, I
you know I don't drink drink truly. Did you dry heave whenever I pulled
tequila out? No, no,no, I'll pound tequila. Oh it's
you drive on the whiskey. Whisky. Yeah, I do see with me
the whiskey. Yeah, I'll youthrow it out there, neat and let's
(20:03):
go. Now, if you wouldhave met me when I was in college,
I was whiskey and whiskey and morewhiskey. Yeah. So you now
you smell it, you want todry he now, I mean with whiskey
and two fingers of neat whiskey.Come on, now, everybody's got to
have that one alcohol that when theysmell it, their reminds of of something
and they just they they're out. They're out on it forever. Yeah,
(20:25):
quervo for you the nasty, thegut rot that you get in college.
Yeah for one of those. I'mnot saying querva, but I'm talking about
a gut rot tequila that is cheapin college and it's not chilled, and
your buddies are doing I got tothe point where I was like, because
you know me, I love Ilove a good tequila, but man,
there's that and when it's hot andit's sweaty and sticky, and after about
(20:47):
five of those, you're like,oh hell no, well whiskey dude all
day. But anyway, did yousay me and a white wine spritzer?
Am I Ryan money? Yes?Yes, yeah, pretty much. No,
you've never even seen that in right, I even cringe when you make
me. I have to put mimsiesout. Okay, no, that ain't
me, brother, You no betterthan that? Oh my gosh. All
(21:07):
right, Renelle Blanco suspended ten games? How does this affect the rotation for
the Astros? Real quick? Arewe going six man rotation? Now?
Are you killed? Have we decided? Have we mean any ashlers? Has
there been a decision on six man? If they're going six, he's gonna
miss one start, If they're goingfive, he'll miss two. Yeah,
(21:30):
So what are we doing here?Do we know yet? Have I heard?
Or have you heard? Stay tuned? All right, we're gonna discuss
that next here on Sports Talk sevennine. We're also going to discuss Kobe
Stevens golf apparel at Kobe Stevens dotcom. Go over the website right now,
Kobe Stevens dot com. If youhave never ordered from Kobe Stevens.
First of all, what are youdoing? What are you waiting on?
This is the best golf apparel onthe market right now. But when you
(21:53):
go to that website and you tapin for your first purchase, you get
fifteen percent off. You want morediscounts, head over to their Super Saving
section. There's seventy five percent offsome of the polos in that section.
They've got T shirts, so forwhen you're heading to the ballpark tonight,
you should be rocking at Kobe StevensAstros T shirt. Theyve got a couple
(22:15):
of them on the website as well. If you don't want those, of
course, they've got the best lookingpolos, they've got hats, they've got
a ladies in the youth line. They've got pants, shorts, and joggers
right there, all waiting for youat Kobe Stevens Golf Apparel. At Kobe
Stevens dot com. You don't haveto be a golfer to wear Kobe Stevens
golf per I've got a bunch oftheir joggers and I wear them here to
(22:36):
the studio, I wear them outand about don't even wear them on the
golf course because they're that sleek, they look that good and they fit me
perfectly. That can be yours twoat Kobe Stevens dot com. You gotta
look good, feel good, playgood with Kobe Stevens golf apparel. That
there. The Sewn Salisbury Show continued. MAVs take a three to two lead
(22:57):
over at Oklahoma City the Celtic tobeat the Cavs in advance to the Eastern
Conference Finals. Let's talk about RenelBlanco. He was indeed suspended, as
I just said, he will notappeal, so with that, he was
also fined and undisclosed about. Sowith that, the Astros will be down
a player. So they only havetwenty five men on their active roster.
(23:18):
They cannot bring anybody up due tothis suspension, and it looks like the
Astros will go to a six manrotation. So ideally he's only gonna miss
one start, but either way,you are down a man. And last
night, prior to the game,Joespotta was asked about the state of his
(23:41):
bullpen and he said, quote,we are very limited end quote. Yeah,
you don't get rewarded for making aten game mistake, right, And
so that's part of the punishment. It's not just the player, but the
roster gets punished because you can't addsomebody, which means you're gonna need depth
out of your six man. AndI liked that they're going to six man.
I can't remember who was I'll lookit up on Twitter. Yesterday had
(24:04):
sent a message to our show Twitterafter posting all the stuff coming on the
show, and then mentioned about butit's six man, he'll only miss one
start, Yeah, and that they'vetalked throughout that, and this team's been
over the last two years, hasmade this decision to use six man rotation,
especially when you're playing thirty to thirtyone or twenty nine to thirty games,
why not. It also gives thebig fellow, your horse at forty
(24:27):
one a little bit of rest. You got deep So fromber does I mean
it's the wise move. But whenwe were talking about it yesterday, it's
like, Okay, which way arethey going to go? For sure?
And I think you had to waittill now. If they only had a
if there was no six games orten game suspension, they still may have
gone, yeah, six man rotation. I don't know if they had made
(24:48):
the decision already, but they stillmay have gone with a six man just
because of the timing of the gamesand the number of games you're going to
play. And it's a good thing. And so there you go, and
talking five games, it would havebeen fromer would have missed too. As
we talked about. We talked toDana Brown yesterday it's ten games in a
miss two and he said, yeah, but also and we didn't talk about
(25:11):
the six man rotation because we hadso much on the plate to discuss.
But that's a that's a good thing, and it saves him from missing a
second start. You want your aceto get as many looks as you can.
When I say, Ace's pitched likeit this year, So missing one
starts is a good thing. SoI'm assuming the rotation is gonna go fromber
Verlander Javier Hunter. Brown's got tobe in there, right, has to
(25:37):
be. So let's see looking ahead. Yeah, Hunter Brown's back and he's
gonna throw Friday against Milwaukee. Whoam I leaving out of that? Ragetty
Araghetty, that's five? Who who'sgonna be six? Do we know yet
or have they not announced it?So as of right now, it looks
like it'll be. So let's juststart from the top, like you said,
So I'll go through it. Frober, Verlander, Xavier. So it's
(26:00):
Javier today yep, then Hunter Brown, then Verlander, then Arraghetty, then
Valdez. So they have to addsomebody. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Who's going to be the dude? And they can't bring anybody up,
So whoever it is is on thecurrent roster. Yeah, and so I
guess we can do the math ofyou know who who it could be looking
(26:22):
at it, Brian, But theyuh, but six man, it's okay,
and you may on that time haveto use the bullpen go deep.
That's what's going to be incumbent upona guy like Javier today tonight. Yeah.
Two, Javier's got to come backand be better than he was last
time. You can't pitch an inningin a third and tax this bullpen now,
even with a six man rotation, cause your sixth starter and this is
(26:45):
going to be somebody who quite franklydoesn't start all the time. So there
you go. Yeah, So Brian, I knew I Yeah, I know,
I thought so as we were lookingthrough the rotation, I'm like,
man, who we missing? Maybedid I misread something? But yeah,
I have it. I have itin my notes. Brian mctagger tweeted it
out and said Astros GM Dana Brownsaid Renel Blanco won't appeal his suspension and
(27:07):
it will begin immediately. He willessentially miss one star because of the six
man rotation. The Astros will playwith twenty five players in the meantime.
Yeah, so who the six manis? I don't think they've told us
yet. Well, we can breakdown process elimination, but process of elimination,
but it'll have to be Yeah,And I'm not surprised they didn't,
considering what Joe a Spot has saidabout the substance, considering what Renel Blanco
(27:30):
said, I don't know. Afterwhen two guys that were part of it
had said what they said in pressconference, I think appealing it would have
been for not Yeah, even thoughyou say, what's going to hurt,
it's just to me, if you'regoing six man rotation, get it over
with now. And remember I hadsaid yesterday to one of our callers.
I think it was Shena that wouldn'tyou rather get it done now under this
(27:52):
part of the schedule so you don'tmiss Blanco in big time like when you're
playing a different, more difficult partof the schedule. Now, everything's difficult,
but when you just look at theright at the way they're playing these
next handful of games, I thinkit's smart to just get it done and
get him back in the rotation. But six man's the way to go.
And this team's been as good asanybody at doing it the last two years
(28:15):
and this year for obvious reasons. You want to get it done now because
you play one more game against Oakland, then three against Milwaukee, three against
LA, three at Oakland, LA. That's the Angels. Sorry the Angels,
Yeah, sorry, Then that's there'syour ten game suspension, so he'll
be back for the Seattle Seattle Marinersor the Minnesota Twins. Don't think it's
(28:37):
not don't think it's not why Becauseif you appeal and it gets to play,
why you appeal or the games aren'tgoing now you're into the Seattle series
and you may not have gotten anythingtaken off your ten game or anyway after
what we heard them say, meaningthe Astros themselves about the substance and the
glove, and so I think itis wise, and I think it is
(29:00):
the timing of it. If it'sgoing to happen, it's a good time
to have it happen, especially nowyour team's starting to feel it, yep,
and they're playing better. So youcan live without one Blanco start.
And in truth, little rest mightnot hurt him. Yeah, you know
what I'm saying. It may notbe a bad thing for a guy who's
not used to this situation where you'relike, and now the expectations of Blanco
(29:21):
are, Oh, he's just goingto go out and get people out right,
and so may not be a badthing for him to take a little
rest. So the six man rotationswise and the timing of it for the
Astros in their situation couldn't be better. But that's incumbent upon a guy like
Javier Tonight to give us one hundredand eighty degrees of what he gave us
last time. Get to the sixthinning and dominate, get swinging, miss
(29:42):
make sure that high fastball in theupper part and outside the zone gets people
to go after it. And he'smixed in that change up that he's worked,
get and get rolling. Right.Yeah, there's you can't have another
four out performance all in order absolute, especially against the A's. You got
you, this is one you can'tlet the age tax your bullpen. I
know they've already won the series, but this is a series you must sweep.
(30:04):
You have to win tonight there becauseyou're still what are they seventeen and
twenty five? Yeah, eighteen, twenty five eighteen, Yeah, you're still
eighteen and twenty five, seven gamesunder five hundred. But I'll tell you
what the way they're headed. Theymean, by the time Blanco gets back,
they could be within a game ortwo of five hundred. Yeah,
(30:26):
if they take care of their business. All right, seven one, three,
two one two five, seven ninety, We see everybody on hold.

you like it is, I amnot speaking negative of this team. Have
(36:15):
a good day, Brian. Ilove you. Have a good day,
Sean, go Astros, go getthem? Do you love me too?
I better love you, baby,You damn right, you love me from
the start, Miss Carroll. Wegot that going, that's for sure.
We appreciate you, and you knowwhat, You've never once wavered on your
astros and that's a good example forall of us. We appreciate you,
(36:37):
and have a great day and goodluck with that game tonight. Yes,
sir, appreciate it. She's thebest astro win baby we've been having Kanye.
It is true. We've been havingconversations for about four years now,
her and I and it's one ofthese days I'll get to meet her.
Yeah, I feel like and youknow that person you're like, man,
(36:59):
I feel like you. And uh, she's always so upbeat about the astras
and I understand people's questions about theAstros early on, but she doesn't wait
for now. I got a question, Yeah for you, Yeah, just
not Frobert, because you're on alvRozin the day off. I know he
got to hit last night, butstill man, he is. I don't,
I don't, I don't think.I don't think it hurt to give
him one tonight. It wouldn't hurtand have him available to pinch it if
(37:24):
you need him. Maybe it's theone pinch hit drive that he needs.
Uh. You know how I amthough, I'm always I rest for me
in basis is I know for Pitcher, I get it, and and this
is and I and I can betalked off. This ledge of times rest
for me and is overrated when itcomes to you know what I'm saying.
(37:46):
I just feel like I want mybest players playing every day. But in
truth, sometimes you need it morementally than the physical side, because I
think all these gay you know, you're a well trained athlete, You've been
doing it, you're programmed to doit. Hell at times, you know
what, I look at the oppositemaybe, and I don't know how much
batting practice from I mean Jordon takeson a daily basis. Well, we
(38:08):
hear about you know, Bregman's gettingto the ballpark. What do you think
went took batting practice at eleven o'clocka couple of days ago, right,
discovered something and well it's paid off. I almost think at times, I
think sometimes guys need to grind lessonssometimes when you're not going good, Maybe
just take a few days off ora day and a half off from batting
pract you know what, shorten yourbatting practice, just a day where you're
(38:29):
like not today, going to theclubhouse, the pregame meal, sit around,
listen to music, whatever it isyou do. I'm a miss batting
practice today. It's like on thedriving range sometimes, don't you when you
go to the first tea without hittingthe ball in the driving range? Play
better? Yep, yet a littlemore relaxed. You don't expect you like,
I'm not loot boom boom. Maybethat's what you need to do.
I may play my best as offthat as I can't, But you know
(38:49):
what, for the for the mentalto grind, do we really think Jordon's
not gonna hit at some point thisyear? I will tell you this,
as much as I love Alex Bregman'sgame, I'm more confident if both of
them were slumping that Jordon's gonna eventuallyfind his way out of it, and
Reregman's seems to be finding his wayout of it because this history says he
will. I don't worry about it, but you just don't want it to
continue to flounder like this where he'sstruggling in certain parts of his game,
(39:15):
but the guy is going to stumbleinto thirty five home runs. I'm just
telling you. You and I bothknow he is. It just doesn't look
like we're used to seeing it.So I'm one of those guys. I
want my starters to play every day. I'm greedy. But the mental side
of it may be more than thephysical side. Right now, for Jordan
getting a day off so he getsback to waving it pitches that are competitive
(39:36):
at times, Yeah, I justit seems something's off. Oh it is?
Yeah, And I don't know ifwe can put a finger on some
is. And I think that's prettyobvious. Maybe sometimes you can grind too
hard. You and I both knowthis. Yeah, So I think it's
okay to miss a batting practice oncein a while. You don't need to
sit there and grind all the time. The guy's a professional hitter, he'll
be okay when we say professional hitter, I know they're all pros. We
(39:59):
hear that about Brantley every day.But sometimes you don't need to go out
and have four hundred warm up tossesin a in a in a game.
Sometimes you can stay in the clubhouseand just go Rake, take take your
four bats. I don't like wastingswings on the driving range. Sometimes those
are my best swings. So maybeJordan needs a little bit of that off
in a little of the metal grind. But he'll be back at it and
when he gets going. As we'vesaid, and Dana Brown said it yesterday
(40:21):
as well, I pity the poorperson that has to deal with that hot
and when when that when that getsrolling in the Oakland A's he rakes against
this team. Maybe that's why youkeep them in the lineup, because he's
had great success against this uh againstthis franchise. Astros go for the sweep
tonight. There's another Sean mentioned ahitting gym and Seth Martinez. There's another
hitting gem in the lineup, Andhe continued to Rake last night, who
(40:45):
is it and where does he stackamongst the league? Leaders in Major League
Baseball. That's next as we getin the seven o'clock hour right here on
Sports Talk seven ninety KD Houston,KTV HD two Houston, an ihard radio

Okay, let's do this. SeanSalisbury to usc Troup, longtime friend,

(41:31):
Salsbury Show. NFL schedules released yesterday. We're going to go through the Texans
schedule at eight o'clock this morning.Seven to one three two one two five,
seven ninety is the number to join. Let's talk to Alex. Alex,
good morning, welcome in, Hey, good morning guys. What's happening?
(41:54):
I uh I uh no good winlast night to see fromber Pitch,
well, we need him to beconsistent, but you know that guy,
he's up and down, so hopefullycan figure it out. My question was
I saw they traded Corey Jolks.Do you guys know much about the picture
they got in return here. Hemight he might be pretty good. But
(42:19):
I haven't heard much about him.I don't know much about him. I'd
be sitting I mean, other thanhitting the Google machine, Brian, you
don't I don't know. Yeah,I've got some information on him. He's
never pitched past the the what isit, the complex level, meaning like
the Developmental Rookie Ball League, SoI mean the white Neither one of us
(42:39):
know what his specialty is or whathe brings to the table. Maybe there's
potential there, so they with theDFA anyway, with Corey Jolks, at
least they got a body for him, right, Yeah, they got something.
Yeah, I mean, and soI don't I don't know. Maybe
there's this you know, probably thesame as we do. We'll look it
up as you But I and Isaw the name. I don't know much
(43:00):
about him at all, So Idon't know. We have to find out.
But hey, at least well theastros obviously got him, so they're
going to try to And if there'sanybody who knows that to developed pitchers,
they're pretty good here. I mean, they've been through the system. They've
been pretty good here. So we'llsee. But I don't know anything about
his game. I don't even knowhow how old is he? Brian,
(43:22):
Do we know he's Alex? Dowe know he's a young young kid.
Yeah, I don't. I don'tknow who he is. Yeah, okay,
no, just uh yeah, twentyyear old. Sorry Rodriguez, It's
sorry, sorry, Alex. LuisRodriguez twenty year old, and he hasn't
pitched above the Complex League for theWhite Sox so has not done much in
the minor league. And Alex, you are right about from Or that looked
(43:43):
like the guy we need on aconsistent basis to be the ace. Right
that that's who you need night inand night out. Excellent? Yeah,
Yeah, I don't. I don'tthink i've I don't think i've seen him.
I was probably around this time lastyear when I remember seeing him consistently
pitched away that he can so butwe need that guy. Man. Yep,
dominant performance last night, then gooddepth getting deep and then Seth finishing
(44:07):
out. It was a good watch, Alex, Thanks buddy, appreciate it.
Thanks. Yeah. The kid thatthey got, like I said,
he's twenty years old, has notpitched above the complex league. Essentially,
the Complex League is like, whatwhere? What's his name? Jose braw
Is, Yeah, downspring training. The truth is, none of us know
what he's going to be like. But at twenty you can develop he's in
(44:30):
that developmental stage to see what you'regoing to get out of him, because
I don't think many people other thanthose in the Astros organization to scout him,
could tell you what his strengths are. I have no idea, don't
know who he is, but attwenty at least, you didn't get him
at thirty, where he's already gothis habits going. You get him at
twenty, and now we'll see whereit goes. The Astros have a history
(44:50):
of taking guys at well, theguy who's their ace of the staff right
now and he's what thirty thirty oneand renew Blanco look with him, I
mean where he's been through and done. I mean a lot of these guys
were got, were signed for veryinexpensive money, and are now staples of
this organization. So who knows.I'm not putting that on this kid.
Like I said, I don't knowanything about him, but we're gonna find
(45:13):
out. I would imagine at somepoint and somebody will tell us something about
him. But I'd never heard ofhim after the trade with Jolkes. But
you got a body who's a developmentalguy. We'll see where it goes in
professional sports. Pretty wild. CoreyJokes was on the opening day roster last
year, got a lot of runat the big league level, played a
lot hit some slumps, got sentback down in Triple A. But it
was a really good impressive too thefirst part. And when they had him
(45:36):
up here needed him, yeah, and then a lot of people thought he
was going to be back on theopening day roster this year. Doesn't make
it playing a lot in Triple Aand then boom, he's DF eight yep.
And then I guess didn't clear waiversand or clears waivers coming back to
trade him. So I guess yougot I don't know, obviously, a
twenty year old pitcher that you whatdo they do? Rule through all thirty
(45:58):
teams and nobody picked him up,so and you can trade him. There
you go. Yeah, so Igot the end of the day, at
least you got something. Well,in truth, it's better for the astros
to be able to get somebody andhope nobody claims on waivers than to not
get anything and somebody claimed him.Sorry, at least you get a developmental
body that maybe down the road withthe getting this organization gives him a chance
to maximize his potential. We'll see, Yeah, we will see. Seven
(46:22):
one three five seven ninety Robert,Good morning, Barrantee you guys. Hey,
I'm really I'm glad to see ourguys coming through and really grinding out
wins the last couple of games andreally climbing up as they should be.
It sounds that they're coming back. But I was just reading up the definition
of a balk as a and Iwas like, it's so vague. It
(46:42):
may be intentional, but it's sovague. I mean, and the way
you can interpret day balka from anumpire is just it's really disgusting. And
seeing that from a seeing them calledframer for that, I was like,
a kidding, mate, it's justdisgusting. I mean, I thought it
was supposed to be specific, notvague. Yeah, well, umpires these
days seem to make it a youknow, they seem to put it there.
(47:04):
There doesn't seem to be any Well, here's what a balk is.
It's cut and dry, and it'slike any like the decision of whether you
eject a guy for a substance inhis stuff. The rule, you know,
how it's written, It just seemsto be, you know, they
get to move the goalpost, iswhat you're saying, right, Robert.
It's like, wait a second, now, yeah, were etched in stone,
(47:25):
here's the rule, here's what abalk is. It would seem that
that'd be pretty simple to follow, right, But you're exactly right. The
goal posts seem to be moved ona on a regular basis on some of
Major League Baseball's rules. Yeah,exactly. I know. It's a different
engagement from the pitching h you knowthe picture, it seems like it's dis
engage to the umpire's discretion. That'sthat's what I read. And so yeah,
(47:49):
that opens up for so many differentinterpretations that I just maybe they need
to look at that again and allto that, because that's just getting It's
a judgment called by the umpire andwhat we may see, they may see
different. And you said at home, say wait a minute, there's no
that wasn't a balk or it wasa bark by somebody. And then but
with that when it's when it's vaguelike that, they're going to leave it
(48:12):
in the umpire's hands. And whenit comes to that, those guys don't
lose on a back call. Theumpires always win. So there you go,
buddy, all right, Well gotthe win out of it, right,
and then got a good performance forFarmer. Didn't really affect the game,
So that's a good thing. Exactly. It wasn't like it wasn't like
live alter anything like that. Farmberwas really stopped last night. Sure,
(48:32):
well, glad to see that andthen everything. So yeah, I'll be
a guy, but I appreciate itall, buddy. Thanks. Yeah,
it's like anything, the judgment ofthe umpires. So and if you truth,
if you like, I know whata balk is, but when you
watch Major League Baseball, do youreally know what a ball is? No?
Exactly, that's what Robert's talking aboutabout the vagueness of it. Yeah,
and if it comes down to theumpire's discretion, well then okay,
(48:53):
well then you're going to lose, you can. Then you bring in the
human element. He might have seena bak who one of the other guys
didn't see a ball, who didn'tsee a ball? Over at the other
umpire. I mean just and it'llchange from crew to crew, right so
you know I don't want their job, but sometimes it's frustrating. Thank goodness,
it didn't happen in a one rungame that gets an extra base runner
(49:14):
and then again a swing of thebat, you know, put you in
a bund. Fromber did his joblast night and did it extremely precise and
dynamic. It was fun to watch. That looked like fromber Valdez. Yeah,
that's who we know right there, and that's how he should pitch every
single outing before we get to thestakeout. Jeremy Payne had two more hits
last night, hitting three thirty threeon the season, four fifty five,
(49:35):
slugging and on base of three seventyfive. He is number six in the
league in hitting. Right now,Who's the MVP of the Astros right now?
I would have to say Jeremy Pinabecause when you couple what he's done
offensively with gold glove caliber defense, did I don't have you seen him miss
a play yet? No? Notyet. On defense, he's made a
(49:58):
throw, He's made a throw theto throw up the line that Singleton had
to make a great play on.You know, I think it was was
it his or was that Bregman's throw? Either way, he scooped one from
the left side of the enfield andin two different games, and then jumped
high and tagged to run he out. At first. He just everything Payne
is doing is all star pop.Shelf Bill said, I would agree to
(50:20):
me. He's been the MVP ofthis team. Kyle Tucker has an argument,
and considering we had Ronel Blanco goinginto the season, I mean,
that's a comeback Player of the Yeartype of thing, right. I mean,
you can make an argument for acouple guys, but I can tell
you this Payne has taken a backseat to nobody when you have that award,
the way he's performed offensively and defensivelythis year, and you've moved him
(50:45):
around three or four different places, and he's performed at every part in the
lineup wherever he's hitting. So it'sbeen a pretty it's been a helified watch.
I have a question for our fanslead into the stakeout, for those
who thought the Astros were buried, where's your concern level now? And if
you shifted your paradigm, have yougone from Oh I had them left dead
(51:05):
for dead and now there. Ifthat's what somebody is thinking out there,
then now you believe, even thoughit's the Oakland A's, that this team
now is going to go on aroll and win them and be a playoff
team. Have you changed your thoughtprocess in just two series? I wonder
if somebody has and is it realisticfor us to do that? Negative or
positive? Right? Have you?I mean they're playing well out of label.
(51:30):
Look who they're playing, right, and against good teams. They struggled,
so they should be doing this againstthe A's, right. You got
the Burgers coming into town starting tomorrow. They're pretty good. Did they hit
five bombs in their game last night? And they can pick? They're pretty
good. Yeah, their divisions,so that's no hack, I assure you.
No. You took look, sweepthe A's and then battle against the
(51:52):
brus and then let's we'll talk Monday. Win that series. Yeah, win
that series, and then I'm notagain. I was never super panic,
a little frustrated obviously, like we'vediscussed, and you had to have concern
if you didn't think we hadn't beenwatched and for forty games in if you
weren't concerned, then you probably thenyou probably all had you know times,
we've all had rose colored We're seenthrough rose colored glasses. So I'm just
(52:15):
anxious to see if the people whowere convinced that this was not their season,
are you still convinced to that?Yeah, I know what I'm convinced
about going to a rugby match calledthe nine and one Houston SaberCats. Dam
right. They're leading the Western Conferencein Major League Rugby sean nine and one.
Don't they play Chicago this week? It's a seven pm start. First
(52:37):
thousand fans are going to receive asixteen out Silicone Cup again nine and one.

there's no I asked you want toget it in here for the steak Out?
Are you prepared for it? Yeah? I'm prepared for everything, big
dog. You are. I comeprepped. Nobody said you're not prepped to
you're prepared for this, yes,I mean you're we do it for majors.
Yep. You want me to startthree picks and then a fourth one
(55:52):
for the tiebreaker. I mean Idid win, so I guess I should
get first pick, right, Goahead, take Scotti Sheffler. Whoa,
whoa what Scottie, I'll take Scheffler? Okay, Okay, who you got?
Uh? You know I went withJohn Rahm last time, and I'm
not doing it again because he letme down. Okay, give me Xander
(56:14):
Chaffle a nice, So you're gonnacarry a good tournament last week for Xander
otherwise known as Xander number two andtuh there's some sledging going on, dog
Xander. You know I'm caught. You know what. Between I'm gonna go
(56:35):
Brooksy coep. Okay, I gottago Brooksy give me liberty or give me
death. You know what. I'mgonna go with John Rahm. What a
horrible nobody's long though. You've gotyou've got on the mind, don't you
You got what? M John RamSometimes I am number three. Gimme cam
(57:04):
Smith, Cambo yep, give mecam Smith, all right? Give me
Wyndam Clark Clark did you take Wyndomlast time too? No? I didn't.
You didn't. Maybe he was myhe was my Windom was my Uh.
If there's a ty now you canchoose. Do you want three plus
(57:24):
one? If there's a tiebreaker, just picked four total? No? Three
plus one? You sure you don'twant to just go four total? Let's
go four total. Let's change itup for the PGA. Okay, so
if there's a tiebreaker, then we'llgo to which one of the four shot
the lowest score? Fair enough? All right, that works. Okay,
I'm gonna go Colin Morikawa. Ohnice. I had him a couple of
(57:45):
majors ago and he uh, heplayed pretty well, if I'm not mistaken.
Ye. I don't know if Ishould go with Jason Day or Max
Homa. Give me Max Homa,Homa? All right? Do you realize
that we never picked Max Homa? You realize we just left out Rory McElroy.
That's all right, who's coming offseventeen under Par Brice? This Chamba,
(58:06):
he's one at this golf play atthat valhalla before. He's the best
driver of the golf ball in theworld, and we left him on the
table. Yeah, that's all right, all right, good luck, good
luck, good luck. Yeah,it does, a matter of fact,
they's it's in Kentucky. That's Eastcoast time, corrector is that the Ohio
(58:29):
Kentucky border is Kentucky. I thinkit's East coast, isn't it. I'm
pretty sure it is. So ateight twenty four, they people are already
off. Should be? Should be? We got the We got a channel
in here to get that on.Yeah, I got I got it.
We've got the PGA Tour. Imean the damn six golf channel. Not
good golf weather this morning over inLouisville. Sixty chance of rain with win
(58:52):
us up to twenty five miles anhour. And yes, they have teed
off if the winds. I haven'tlooked at the score, so none of
us looked at who tea off early. I can tell you this, if
the wind is down and the greensare soft, long hitters that don't need
extra roll will be in position andthey can fire right at the stick if
it's a soft green. Luke Donaldleading right now through four. He's two
(59:15):
on. Former Ryder Cup captain forthe Euros I think, and Luke Donald
captain them to the last Ryder CupChampionship over Zachary Johnson. If I'm not
mistaken, I love this day.I was Zachary, Yeah, zach Johnson.
Here we go. We got alittle couple of phone lines. Roger
Roger seven one three two one twofive at seven ninety? Is it ephron
(59:37):
ephronn? Excuse men? What's happeningin my bad? No? Yellow Wilder
even thout Frory first off, butI agree, I uh, I just
had a comment about I saw thatuh Reno Blanco accepted the appeal. It
(59:57):
kind of just got that process started. So he started ten games. Do
you think that kind of prove orprove? Slash says that maybe he knew
what he was doing, or doyou still stick with it was accidental kind
of mindset. I think it wasaccidental, but the accidental part when he
found out understands the rule. Idon't think he did it on purpose.
I think it's twofold one. Idon't think he did it on purpose.
(01:00:21):
I think with the sweat and therosin and not maybe understanding where the rosin,
he can't be on one hand,it can be on the other.
And I think it probably accumulated andhe got caught and understands it. I
understand the rule. I didn't doit on purpose, but the rules the
rule, and Joe Spotta said hesaw what looked like a white substance Joe
Spotted did in the glove when hecame out there. So when you got
(01:00:42):
two guys on the same group notfighting it profusely, and it's a ten
game suspension. And the second partof that is why not start it now
because you got to play Seattle comingout of this ten games And I'd rather
get it done now and have Blancosince you're going to a six man rotation
ready for a tougher part of theschedule. I think it's wise to do
it now. I don't have aproblem with not delaying it, and I
(01:01:05):
don't think he did it on Purposeesgot caught cheating. I think intent was,
you know, trying to keep hishands dry, and unfortunately it worked
out against him, and he'll takethat. I would rather have it done
now, and I think it wasaccidental and you got to move on with
it. That's my opinion. Yeah, No, I think that's I mean,
that's where I was kind of sidingwith as well. And then I
mean, we got a good startfrom promery yesterday. So hopefully all the
(01:01:28):
the other guys can go long endingsagain and make it where it doesn't affect
us too much. There you go, thanks for calling. Uh yeah,
the coverage of this golf tournament, the PGA Championship, doesn't start until ten,
so we's on ESPN, right yeah, just in time for next up
right here on Sports Talk seven ninetywith Chris Gordy and or excuse me,
(01:01:51):
let me let me get that rightnext up a stand or fleeting Chris Cordy.
There you go, that's no disrespectto it, one of our program
directors. There you go. Yeah, they're doing well, yep, sure
are man. Not good weather though, so we'll see. Uh that a
good weather to fire at the pinwith no with no wind if there is
no, But if it's twenty fivemiles an hour, that's a couple of
(01:02:12):
club different so long hitters will befavored because then you're hitting short iron more
than you know, you're hitting midto short irons into greens while other guy's
got to pump afore iron in becauseof a two club difference. Or so
with twenty five miles an hour, that's sneaky long hitters will have an advantage.
Yeah, we're not mid around here. Nope. You gotta just fire
at the stick, fire at theflag stick. You have to. Hey,
good luck in your picks. Seven. We went through eight guys and
(01:02:35):
didn't pick Rory mcaway. Who cares. He's one there and he won.
He shut seventeen, kept as thereigning champion. Yeah, BGA Champion Champions.
Yeah, but he won there. That's fine. You don't even care
about Rory, dude, You can't, you know, like love Rory?
You think so? Rory's on aheater and by the way, he wins
a tournament, files for divorce. Now he's gonna come in and rock the
PGA champions. Well, he's familiarwith the golf course. He was familiar
(01:02:58):
with last week's golf course. Andguess what at Quail Holly. You know
how many times he's won there.Last time was his last weekend was his
fourth time he's won there. Sothe guy likes familiarity. And who knows
the divorce? But I do knowthis, he does have a a prenup
and he's gonna make sure it's enforced. So maybe that's why he's breathed easy.
He's probably he ain't get my coin. Dogs, you're not getting a
(01:03:21):
seven pe three two two five, seven ninety. Got a couple guys that
want to get in. We'll getto you next. Also, let's look
across Major League Baseball. There's ateam over in the National League that is
just straight out kicking everybody's ass.And it's not the Dodgers. Let's talk
about it next on Sports Talk sevenninety. All right, let's look at
the forecast today. Supposed to havesome storms rolling through again, eighty percent
chance of rain all day here inthe city of Houston. And you know
(01:03:44):
what happens when those storms come through, They get pretty severe, especially with
the humidity and the heat here alreadybearing down on us in May in the
City of Houston, storm season thisyear. Do not get left in the
dark when those storms roll through. And you know how you do that.

and generators, residential troubleshooting and repair, as well as commercially and industrial electric.
Call this number right now for aquote three four six seven seven seven

(01:05:11):
Ask for Nathan King or Daniel Hopper. When you call that number to get
yourself a requote, Probably Love Electrica connection you can count on The Shawn
Salisbury Show continued. Astro's going forthe sweep of the Ace tonight seven ten,
the first pitch six o'clock on Deckshow right here on seven on your
home for Astros Baseball. We're talkNFL schedule release at eight o'clock. You
pumped? You ready to go?I can't wait. I know, I
(01:05:32):
can't wait. You know how Iam about schedule that whole out It's dedicated
to the NFL schedule release, andI'm doing somersaults. I was intrigued with
the back end of that schedule though. Oh yeah, I got some notes
on the timing of the bye week, which is which which I like,
We'll get that eight o'clock. Okay, I'm gonna give you one option,
since we since uh, since youhave quite frankly been dominated in this I
(01:05:53):
have. I mean, you're you're, you're, you and I are tighter
than what man snouts. Yes,and that's tight. You think about tian
that's tight. That's like water inwhatever you say, Well, it's not
like that. I just said youand I are tight. Okay, Okay,
yeah, you know you mean tighter. That's like a bullshrogs, butlt
water tight. Yeah, you andI are tightered boyancy, Yeah, you
do all right, So I'm gonnalet you try to be buoyant with your
(01:06:15):
picks. PGA started. We haven'tlooked at the scores, and I'm not
sure any of our guys have eventeed off yet. But I'm gonna give
you two options. Replace one ofyour guys, giving you the option because
all the Rory talk giving you theoption to replace one or add one for
five, I'm saying we go onefor the thumb. I'm choosing to go
five. You tell me what youwant to do. I'm not replacing anybody,
(01:06:39):
Okay, so go five. AndI'm gonna give you being the fact
that you're you know, it'd belike you've finished two and fifteen a bullets,
but it's not really a bullet becauseit's pretty fair. Yeah, it's
fair, it's fair, you know. And but you're not you're not doing
but you're not the one ball striking. No, you kick my ass in
this every single time. But it'sokay, but you know what, but
you're not the one hitting shots.Yeah, give me fid Agberg. No,
(01:07:01):
who do you really want? Man? I don't know who do you
want. I'm gonna give you thefirst pick on the fifth pick at a
fifth one. Justin Thomas and JordanSpeed have not been playing good golf as
of late. Now, let meask you this. Two guys that don't
make the cut. Okay, justso we understand the rules, we are
not like a guy's minus nine,ye should we? Just you do you
(01:07:23):
want to just keep it at zero? So the nine doesn't If he doesn't
make the cut, his scores iscancer, he's out. Yeah, okay,
so you're down to three instead offive. If two of your guys
will make it. That's that's theway I like it. Yeah, that's
the way it should be. Afifth I don't man, let's see John
Rams, Xander Wyndham Max giving youthe first pick of the fifth Isn't he
(01:07:45):
Isn't you know what all this talkabout Rory? You're gonna do it?
No? No, I don't know. Man. I'm looking at Fleetwood,
I'm looking at Saheith Thagala. Butbut the guy that I'm gonna go with
is Rory McElroy. All right,so you stole the guy that I was
really going to tell you you shouldgo. With all the bullets you threw
at Rory and now you got itand he'll go win. Now, I
(01:08:06):
gave you a fifth pick you andyou know who I'm going with Ludwig you
are? Oh yeah, Ludwig atBerg Long may have the smoothest swing on
a golf court in golf since ErnieEl's and he plays fast, which I
like, you're a Stepstraka guy.Yeah, I'm going with Ludwig a Bard.
(01:08:29):
So there you go. There's myfifth and you. I would have
taken Rory, but since I gaveyou first picky, what Rory and Rory
I think is second or third inthe odds to win the things? I
did look at him and he andyou could you know if he's second,
you know who first is? Ohyeah, Scotty Chef. There you go
and rested and he's had his baby. So mom is healthy and the baby's
healthy and good for Scottie Chef. Now awesome, let's talk to cowboy Darryl.
(01:08:51):
Cowboy Darrel was happening. Hey,what's up? Fellas? Hey I'm
not I didn't talk about these cowboys, so that's a whole other student.
Come back in the eight o'clock hourif you want to talk cowboys schedule.
Yeah, no, no, no, no, man, I'm still manager,
but uh hey, I want toask out something I know. I
(01:09:13):
ASTs I know that mccullor's I haven'theard too much about how his progress is
coming. I know he's supposed tobe coming back due I think they said
August. I'm not sure, butI would when if it comes back.
I like to kind of hear youguys kick it around. How they're gonna
use him if it goes favorable.Wait, he's coming back as a reliever,
as a starter, and how they'regonna fit a break. You know,
(01:09:34):
what's the timeline on the Great Hilltoo, and how he's gonna fit
that in. I hang out withthis. Thank you cowboy, Darryl.
Well, let's start with mccollors, who said thirteen to fifteen months. I
don't think there's any way in hellyou see him by July. I think
it's August to September. Yep,and judge it. Now. I'm assuming
with our guy, Darryl, andI think it's funny. He's a deal.
(01:09:55):
I'm still mad at Jerry Jones notready to talk Cowboys schedule yet is
I'm assuming that the rest of thestaff is healthy as how Daryl's look at
this Lance mccullors will be in thebullpen. And even if they weren't fully
healthy, I think Lance mccullors hasto be in the bullpen. I think
his number one thing is he hasto prove that he can withstand all the
(01:10:16):
grind he's been through through these injuries. Now, if you need him a
four guys are still banged up.Different story, but I'm assuming healthy and
even Garcia at the time, Ithink there is I don't even think it's
a question. Maybe if you're fivegames in front of first place and you
want to run him out there.I think Lance mccullors is a middle relief
guy period this year in twenty twentyfour, until he gets his build up
(01:10:40):
in with not just minor league pitchingin a live bullpen. I'm talking about
the real McCoy that his durability isdifferent after this one fair Yeah, you
agree or disagree, I agree,And with a bray you, I don't
the way Singleton's playing, they're goingto give a bray you run. But
to me, now it's Singleton's jobto lose. I don't think a brall
(01:11:00):
you gets to waltz back in thereand you say you're our starter, no
matter what. I don't care whathis bat speed looks like down in West
Palm. Then when he gets backhere that he has to earn that job
back or Singleton has to give itaway. You see who played first base
last night, resealed Dubon. Yeah, yeah, Dubon's played first, second,
short, third, left, andcenter. He's catching tonight and the
(01:11:27):
guy will rake until the cows comehome. So yeah, a little change
up. So to me that thatthat's what has to happen. Now,
Listen, if a bray You comesin and pinch hit or every third day
he's starting against depending on you know, you're using him against matchup situations,
and he goes to the second halfpostseason of bray You, he'll win the
job back. But Singleton's also playingpretty solid defense. I think that a
(01:11:48):
bray You is used, and Ithink a bray You is gonna have to
earn the job back, even atnineteen and a half million, Ryan,
I just do. I don't carewhat the back of the card says.
He's gonna get run. There isno doubt he's playing time, and they
send him down there to come backand get run. And you and I
both know right. And you know, for me, when it comes to
Lance mcullors junior, if they gethim back, it's like we said last
year, If they get him back, it's just a bonus. That's all
(01:12:11):
I'm looking at. I don't thinkhe will come back, but it won't
be until August. I'm listen, who heard who isn't rooting for his success?
I think we all come back andthen his grind. We all love
him, but and it's not it'snot a knock on him. It's just
the whole situation and the staff thatwhen they're healthy and going good, they're
pretty damn good. If if Javierfinds his consistency and fromber does we know
(01:12:32):
what Verlander is? Ronel Blanc hasbeen great, you're gonna get her key
back? What's Garcia going to be? Like? To me? The durability
has something to do with it.Uh. If he does come back,
as we've stated Brian, probably fortwo months, it is a bonus,
yep. And it's a bonus fromthe bullpen, not as a starting pitcher
in my opinion, Yeah, Idon't unless needed otherwise, does that make
(01:12:53):
unless the unless injuries along the wayforce him into the rotation and he may
get a spot start here in there. I think he will. Yeah,
I I think we'll get spot starts, depending on you know, how it
goes and you're giving somebody rest,What kind of rotation is it at the
time, how late in the seasonis where are you in the standings?
I think he starts off in thebullpen. Whatever you get from him as
a bonus agreed helps out the staff, no question about it, all right,
(01:13:15):
seven one three, two, onetwo five seven ninety. Will continue
to take your calls, uh andtalk Astros baseball, But I'm going to
look across the league, in MajorLeague Baseball, there's a team that is
just straight up dominating people. Let'stalk about it next. On sport Stock
seven ninety, let the celebration startwar Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk seven ninety,
(01:13:38):
schedule relief by Let's do it knockingdown cold ones Waiting for it to
come out last night breaked up asan understatement. When did you see the
schedule? True truth? Like anhour after it came out last night,
I had other things I was doing, Man, Astros were on. You
(01:14:00):
know what I saw? Did youget a leak? You got a source
this morning? Oh? Did youyeah, yeah, yeah, watching our
guys on Fox News Local and toturn it on and the schedule is there.
Yeah, look check that out. We'll go through it at eight o'clock.
Yep, don't call in unless youwant to talk schedule release. Is
(01:14:20):
that what you're telling o'clock hour?Your you turn national fans await eight?
Absolutely not No, no way thatyou're telling to get to stepping? No,
definitely continue to saying that anymore.Let's ask the kids triply get to
step in? Yeah? Yeah,is that still around? Is that relevant?
(01:14:41):
You can't say it? I mean, I'm not going to say you
can't not say it, but it'snot real. It's not a it's not
a big hitter anymore. Yeah,it's still relevant, but yeah, it's
not a big bit. What aboutwhat about kick rocks? You can still
use that one too if you wantto. Yeah, you can tell us
kick Yeah you can. But getto step Yeah, get to step and
(01:15:03):
feels a little bit of a reach, but it's still out there. Right.
Does that sound right? Yeah?Okay, here we go. I
went to the gospel, Oh God. Get to step in means to leave
to get moving, commonly used byurban people, popular rule. I'm just
rereading popular on the show Good Times. You know that is? You know,
(01:15:24):
Good Times? JJ Walker? Youever heard of that? Did you
ever watch that show? I didn'twatch it, but I've heard of it.
Well, he Triple Eye, areyou allowed to play theme music?
You can't even play that on it? Is it instrumental? No? No,
then Tripley's got to go edit itout of the podcast. Yeah.
Good. Matter of fact, we'llcome back with that, Tripley when we
come back, like maybe some timeat the eight o'clock hour, because the
(01:15:45):
schedule released Good Times will fit thetheme song the Good Times. But so
that's where it started. Get tostepping with Good Times Jimmy Walker. Yeah.
And Esther roll yep. Do youthink I hit that one? Do
you think the mom in Good Timesis his name? Is Esther Role?
I know it's Esther because they madean appearance in Fresh Prints. So that's
where it started. So getting toget to step in to old school it
(01:16:10):
is. It's hung around for aminute. Now, there you go.
So don't tell the Astros fans inthe eight o'clock hour to get to step
in. No, they're always there'salways room like we do for Ramble.
Just open up a little gap andlet him escape. You'll find him in
a car wash two weeks down inSeattle. Yeah, there'll be nobody else
killed. The rest of it.You don't get to step and we open
it up a little. There's alittle gap forget to step in. Okay,
(01:16:31):
but not for Astros fans. They'realways no, they're always welcome.
Yep. Seven one three seven IetyRoger, thanks for holding buddy. What's
going on? What's going on?Sean Bryan Manuel, Hey, I got
seven fifty three on my watch,so I can't talk about the schedule.
Not yet, Not yet eight o'clock, man, Dude, after after eight
o'clock, it's full on, dude, it's full on schedule release coverage.
(01:16:54):
Okay. I'm just gonna give youa question you can answer at the eight
o'clock out. How about that thatworks? Okay? So I just I'm
just really interested about I'm good.Yeah, we're here. Yeah. About
Alvarez, Uh, you know yourquestion when he needs to be sat down
or not? We might be alittle off. I think he's on the
customer. I'm getting out of thisthing. Especially on the last on the
(01:17:16):
last back back, he looks likehe might have found something. I think
he was still keep playing him.Man, he's still even like you can
get ready to get Bucks out ofthe state anytime soon. And uh,
I was still kind of pissed aboutuh the coach about uh uh a Spota.
I don't think. I don't thinkhe's he's he's type manager type man.
(01:17:40):
I just I just think the wayhe just dry smitched his payer out,
he still got me kind of kindof got me thinking about this guy.
I just you know, he justI just feel like he just threw
his player over the bus. Iknow he wasn't trying to. It just
kind of like came out and naturally, but it's the end of the day.
He just kind of dressed his player. Man, Roger, we got
(01:18:03):
to go to break. I dohave one question, were you because I
asked the question after this, afterwhat you've seen recently our fans, have
you shifted your paradigms into, oh, this team's back and have got a
chance? Were you not one thata week and a half ago said you're
this is a wash of a seasonthat you're looking forward to twenty twenty five.
(01:18:24):
I said, if it is awash, I it is what it
is. I'm you know, rightor die? Okay? So you you
you you hadn't quit on them yetfor so long? Right, No,
we've well for so long, andI mean nobody teams do this, right
you only you only get it wasthe lot of Braves of the nineties and
they had added Smallton freaking you know. Uh that's the most glad man.
(01:18:47):
So yeah, and they didn't havenearly the push that we did. So
we're are they going to make theplayoffs? Yes? Or no? A
weak division? Yes? Okay,I think So there you go. Great
stuff, Roger. We'll talk toyou tomorrow. Brother. The thing there
you go, We'll get his whatfootball question? Did he ask it?
(01:19:11):
What was this question about it?He was talking about the depth, oh
the depth there that he loves havingNick cass the gym, and then he
Nick Casaria was out in front ofthis and knew there you go. You
know it was gonna be a tougherschedule. It's a little tougher in their
December. Oh yeah, it's abiz notch. Oh yeah you ready?
Yeah, but don't play that songthat you plan on playing. How did
(01:19:32):
you already know I was going todo it? Because I saw you clapping,
so you do, rease, No, we're doing it. How about
I'm making you a deal. Howabout this, I'll stop playing it once
the season starts. A deal, exactly the decision. If it makes you
happy, I'm going to sacrifice mythoughts to make you happy. That's what
(01:19:55):
I'm talking about. That's why you'rethe ogre. If it makes you,
if it makes you day, itdoes, then we're gonna play it.
It does even though the song sucks, and we're gonna play it because you
love it. Yeah. Well,I'm a guy that I'm a giver.
I'm a truck, not a trailer. Okay, I'm at it. If
it's happy, I want my partnerhappy. Texans schedule has been released.

You brought up good times? No? You said get to step?
And was it was sorry? Thesorry apologo? The gospel told me no,

bad. Look, yeah, giveme. I just did man, that's
not bad. You talking about these? Of course you see how he did
me? Do you see how tryto do me and you triple e.
I've just lumping you into it justfor the hell of it. But you
(01:25:09):
can't. We got the phone linesblowing up this morning, Yeah, blowed
up. Yeah, he's on thecall. Let's get to the schedule release.
You're so caught up in the schedulerelease, you're you're you forgot the
gospel? Was there? Yeah?I did and I'm trying to get out
our show tweet a show tweet tojust let our listeners know with the peeps
(01:25:30):
that we're talking schedule release. Imean, dude, the anticipation, baited
breath. You can cut it witha knife. You could probably cut it
with the you could probably it's sothick you need a machet day. Okay,
there you go, you feel me. They open up the season Hall
of Fame game. That's not reallythe season August first, that would be
(01:25:54):
pre season. They open up thepreseason. A lot of respect, a
lot of respect for the for thethe Texans. Right playing the Bears at
the Hall of Fame game, chalkthat up as a dub. So I
get it. You'll get You'll geta smidge of Caleb and a smidge of
of I'm not even sure in uniform. He won't even play. Yeah,
(01:26:15):
I wouldn't play. None of thosestarters are gonna play. I wouldn't play
him much, that's sure. Ohyeah. I was at a golf tournament
two days ago, and shout outto Kobe Stevens Golf Barrel. They were
out there supporting another charity at WildcatGolf Course. I was in the pro
shop and Tim Boyle came in.He's gonna be fighting for the backup role
quarterback for the Texans. There yougo, decked out in the some of
(01:26:38):
the new gear. Well, TimBoyle, pretty cool to walk in and
be like, hey, I playedfor the Houston Texans. Can I play
golf? They just handed you agolf car key and say, yep,
it's car path only today though. There you go. Must be nice.
Dude stands at like six five Ithink six six six, strapping Tim Boyle.
Yeah, big tall lankey dude.Well, he's got his work cutout
for him. He'll probably play inthe Hall of Fame game. Yeh,
(01:26:58):
work cut out for him with somepretty good play. Yeah. Then the
preseason at the Pittsburgh Steelers, that'sa dub. Do you really care about
the preseason? Yeah? They takeon the Steelers. I'm trying to all
pumped up for the regular season. You're rolling through the Pittsburgh Steeler pre mean
part of the first of all.You know, I'm not a big scheduled
Give me all jacked up and you'restarting many good. That's a dub.
(01:27:23):
You're gonna be in there. Screwthe preseason, all right, give me
to the meat and potatoes. Saveyour appetizer, save your salad. Thanksgiving
for somebody who's attention. Who's thelast preseason game, the last two preseason
or last one? Pat, I'llget to the mean potatoes. Hold on,
man, let me get to themean potatoes right here. Preseason week
(01:27:44):
two, if you will. TheNew York Giants, so they go Bears
Giants. That's at home against theGiants, Bears, Giants, Steelers.
It's Bears, Steelers, Wheelers Giants. And then they end the preseason.
They get an extra one because ofthe Hall of Fame at home against the
l A ramsub Dub. You thinkthey're eating them, eating Dubs, W
(01:28:11):
triple. He got us all pumpedup. But he said in their first
game they open open and then hesays at the Hall of Fame, at
the Hall of Fame game, andthen you say, proceed as they say,
they're not going to play man.Yeah, not even close. No,
they're not going to man. Agreed. Eventually they'll cut down to two
preseason games. There's some coaches whowant preseason dashed forever. Yeah, coaches
(01:28:35):
don't usually, but because they wantto see their players, the coaches will
beg for all the practices they canget so they can see more players.
At some point, you're getting toeighteen games, and it's going to go
from three preseason games to two,and I'm maybe it would all tell you
who it was, if I'm notmistake Roger Goodell. At some point they
want to get rid of the preseasoncompletely and kind of go the collegeway,
(01:28:58):
add a couple extra games, yougot the play off. Get ready?
However, you get ready, givethem their time, play those practices against
other teams, and that's your games, and get it going. And guess
what, I don't have problem withit? Yeah? Yeah, I read
an article, uh, two orthree days ago about an eight potential eighteen
game season and there was some unnamedof course now unnamed executives in the NFL
(01:29:20):
amongst some of these teams that alreadywant the preseason eliminated or uh even one
one unnamed source said, unnamed execsaid that he wants, uh the what's
it called the inner squad practices orthe what are they called when you're practicing
against others? What are they calledpractice scrimmages? No, not scrimmages.
(01:29:42):
Lovey Smith used the term a lot. He didn't want them, he didn't
have the uh. Anyways, iswhen the you know you uh, you
practice for two or three two orthree days two days, right? Yeah?
Uh, so you learn more aboutyour team there than you do a
C. J. Stroud taking eightsnaps in a preseason game. Yeah,
they're saying, I'm just telling you. You do this exact wanted one preseason
game, multiple weeks of inner squadagainst teams practices, and then go into
(01:30:09):
an eighteen game season. I wouldlike them to increase preseason practices, not
to the point where you're go intosix weeks like you used to do or
the four weeks, but take awaythe games. Allow them to schedule who
they want their preseason You know whereyou go, where you're practicing against each
other, and those are your gamesbecause the truth is, do you really
(01:30:29):
want to in preseason game three loseyour backup? Right? Tackle? Joint
practices? Joint right? You gettogether exactly, So those joint practices I
love those more than I do preseasongames. But I think you learn more
about your team because you can alsoprevent your quarterback from taking a live hit
or your running back when they gethim up to stack him up it's live,
don't bring him to the ground.Receivers, you're not taking cheap shots.
It's more controlled. While it's live. You can get rid of preseason
(01:30:54):
for all I care about, nottraining camp. I want all that in
practice. But preseason games give metwo extra regular season games, and I'm
all in. Yeah, I lookforward to joint practices because it's still when
I say two extra crazy, wesay two extra, it's really one extra.
We're already at seventeen. I'm stillwe're still thinking on sixteen. By
(01:31:15):
now, we had the buy withseventeen, increase the day. Hell,
if it had it their way, they'd play twenty, Okay, if if
they ended, because that's more moneyfor the owners. It's not two extra
games. It's obviously one extra game. But from the original sixteen games to
eighteen, they've been talking about thatfor years, right, and now they
only got to increase of one game. That is going to happen. It's
going to happen sooner than later.Yep. All right, let's let's actually
get into the Texans schedule. Howyou feel about the Texans schedule? Seven
(01:31:39):
one three two one two five sevennine. He got a couple of guys
that want to get in and talkabout it as well, will get to
you, uh next, But let'scontinue to talk about this Texan schedule release.
The bye week situated pretty nicely forperfect the Houston Texans. That's next.
The Trajan Wealth is also here, and that's next for you. If

Registered Investment Advisor paid advertisement. ThisSean Salisbury show continues, say it,
Clay, let's go through the schedule. Texans schedule is out. Clay's got
gonna wins and losses. We arealready got wins and losses. This segment,
(01:34:14):
we're just going through the schedule.Next segment, we're gonna go through
wins and losses. And then thefinal segment of this hour, we're gonna
see who has the toughest schedule inthe NFL. I do love the fact
that that we pick winners in May. It's awesome. They already I know
that the it everywhere we all do. Hey, they'll win this one,
they'll lose this one. But let'snot take ato account that maybe Aaron Rodgers,
who got hurt the first you thinkthat changed their schedule prediction last year.
(01:34:36):
Probably Rodgers gets hurt the opener.Well, that win now becomes a
loss because Zach Wilson's gonna yank wentinto the ground on a flat route.
It was now in Denver. Butno disrespect to Zach. But but that'll
change the course of your season andher. But it sure is fun to
spect. I do love the speculation. I mean, I don't wait for
this excited, but now that it'sout that part, I do love because
(01:34:58):
now we get an idea what thema are going to look like in bye
weeks and who's going to jump outin front. How important everybody always looks
to the end of the season. With the Texans end of the season that
you're going to go through. Agood start in September is gonna matter because
it's hell to pay in December. So when everybody says, ah, December
is more important than September, you'reass what if you start out eleven in
one does December overly matter? Itmatters, But now you're in a good
(01:35:23):
position right now you get to controlit. When I hear people say,
well they're one and four in September, that didn't matter. The rest matters
your ass. It gives you achance, just like when you start fast
in baseball, like the Philadelphia Phillies. Yep, that's who the team.
I was going to talk about everybodywhen we will disciss thirty seventeen. I
think maybe it's thirty one and thirteentwelve. Now you're in that. Now
(01:35:47):
you got to chase the whole season. And you know it's crazy. The
team behind them, Atlanta, Ithink only three games back. So point
is so you got to start fasttoo, so that we will look at
all this. But yeah, it'sdifferent. I get excited after. I
don't anticipate it coming out, butwhen it comes out, now we get
just like the draft, all theprognostic caters and all the draft experts.
Now when we come out, nowwe get to find out where the strong
(01:36:10):
safety in the corner and the lastedor where they fit. Now we get
to find out where the fit is. With the schedule, which I do
like all right. Week one Sunday, September eighth, noon kickoff, Texans
at the Colts start off on theroad. Dub Week two? Did you
just say dub? Well, Ithought we weren't picking winners or losers,
right, didn't you just tell methat? Then? Why'd you call it
(01:36:31):
a dub? Oh? Because I'mgonna saydub for all of them. That's
a bit. Yeah, yeah,no, I'll stop. Yeah. Week
two, Sunday, September fifteenth,it's an NBC night game. There's primetime
week number or Primetime game number onein week two against the Bears at home.
Week three at the Vikings that's anoon kickoff. Week four is a
(01:36:55):
home game against the Jags. Thatis uh, let's see Internet National Day
over at NRG Stadium. Week five, they're gonna debut their h Town jerseys
against the Buffalo Bills. Another noonkickoff. Weeks six, Yeah, that's
the what the powder blue in themor h Town blue, I should say.
(01:37:15):
Then Week six it's another noon kickoff. That's October thirteenth against the Patriots
up in Foxboro. Maybe a littledifferent than when Brady played in Foxborough a
little bit. Visit him a littlebit. Following that game in Foxboro,
they go up to Lambeau to takeon the Packers in week seven. That's
another noon kickoff. Then they comeback home to host You're gonna look at
(01:37:38):
two of the bright young quarterbacks onthe planet playing in that game Lambeau.
That's gonna be a bit blast, pretty exciting game. You're gonna get it
before it's overly cold. Yes.Week eight is October twenty seventh. They're
gonna recognize Andre Johnson that's hosting theColts noon kickoff. Then Week nine at
(01:38:00):
the Jets. It's a Thursday nightgame against Aaron Rodgers. Gonna look a
lot different than the Jets you playedwhen Aaron Rodgers wasn't the quarterback. Of
course, those Thursday night games wereon Prime. Week ten another primetime games
Sunday night against the Lions at home. So I guess the National skill they
(01:38:24):
do care. How about the Texans, don't they? They get three primetime
games in a row because Week elevenis at the Dallas Cowboys and it's a
Monday night football game. Can't waitfor that one, Joe Buck and Troy
A Troy Aikman on the call,Troy A. Then Week twelve Sunday,
November twenty fourth, that'll be Thanksgivingweekend against the Titans at home. Week
(01:38:47):
thirteen at the Jags, that's anew kickoff. Then Week fourteen is thereby
Week fifteen Sunday against the Dolphins noonkickoff. And here's here's another problem.
Well, I mean primetime ish Saturday'swhen the Saturday game starts kicking Week sixteen
at the Chiefs on NBC. Thatback to the bye week coming at that
(01:39:11):
late in the season when you needrest to gear you up and not hear
the NFL. Also, why youdo this, looking at the hellified schedule
that they're going to have to play, You're giving them a break in week
fourteen. I'd much people who getit in week six or seven, I'd
much rather have it later. Yeah, I think this is great for them.
Yep. And then week seventeen theyplay on Christmas Day on Netflix three
(01:39:33):
thirty kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens. And then Week eighteen is to be determined
at the Titans impressive and at thatpoint in time, we're going to You'll
know, are the Titans an upstartteam that really that overachieved this year with
Will Levis Or I mean that theytook us some young players and a new
coaching staff and took care of it. Or is that a we've kicked out
(01:39:57):
so we got a two game leadin the division we're going to take very
easily, depending on what happens thisyear. What if that game's for home
field advantage in the AFC all itprobably could be if they get through December,
and it's going to be a brutalone, but the bye week's coming
at the right time. Yeah, sure is what sticks out the most.
Let's talk to Sean about it nexton Sports Talk seven ninety, I had
to wear the Shawn Salisbury Show continued, and there's a reason when you win
(01:40:24):
like they did last year and madethose quantum leaps, we're in for one
hell of a run. They've builtdepth. This is going to be a
blast. It won't be easy, but it never is when you're a good
football team. But the NFL obviouslybelieves that the Texans are good, and
this is a team if it's doneright heading into December, could be in
position not only to win a division, but play for home field advantage.
(01:40:46):
First thanks, first, win thefirst one. Let's get out to Phil.
Phil, welcome in Sports Talk sevenninety. Man, how you doing
all right? I did hold along time because I want to say this.
I'm a Saints fan all my life. I was born a Saints fan.
Okay, so I could cure lessabout the Texans schedule, but this
(01:41:06):
is what I call I root forwhoever is playing against the Panthers, the
Bucks, and the Falcons. WhileI was on hold, I thought about
something. My name is Phil.If your boy who always tries to call
you with these nuts thinks ask himif he remembers the guy who talked about
the big bus. If he says, Phiel, then you got something right,
(01:41:27):
fair, that's about the big whatthe big bus, the big butts,
big butts. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, yeah,
my god, yeah right, I'mgoing fine. And then he said,
oh that's phield You said, okay, oh, I got you.
There you go. I know whereyou're going with that. I got you,
Phields, Yeah, I got you. We'll make sure. Yeah.
(01:41:49):
But I'm a Saints fan, man, but uh, I do watch the
Texans because I lived here for thelast forty years, so I do watch
him. But I'm a Saints fan. Like I said, I root for
anybody who playing against the Books,Pampas and Falcons. Hey, Phil,
let me ask you this, andwe always appreciate you man with it,
especially with this voice when you callin right, you're you're our guy man.
(01:42:09):
We love having you call in hereand be a part of it.
And I'll make sure that we getthat message out there to our our og
Q. Let me ask you whoare you most concerned about in your division?
The NFC South the Falcons? Whybecause of that new quarterback Kirk Because
(01:42:30):
he's good and I don't think alot of offense too, right, Yeah,
I got a lot of offense.Yeah yeah, and that's that's a
big Southern Rappers. That division's winnable, my man. For I mean,
it's gonna be a fun one that'swinnable, and the Saints understand that,
so it'll be a good one.Phil. We appreciate you, brother.
I'll make sure we get that outat the right timing. Brother. We
appreciate Yeah. One more things.Check out who that Nation Social and Pleasures
(01:42:56):
of the Houston Texas. We havea website. We go all over the
city and watch some games during theseason. So hey, maybe one of
these days out and bite you guys. We would love that. We love
and the drinks on me, man, we would love that. Phil.
We always appreciate you. Thanks Bud, Thank you. I appreciate it again,
Yeah, Phil, Yeah, yeah, And he was telling Uh,
(01:43:16):
he said, next time you knowthe the U O g our Goat calls
you know GQ. Yeah, whenhe calls in, make sure because he's
a big Saints fan, phill Isto make sure that ask him about uh
Phil, ask ask the O gIf you remembers Phil talking about big booties,
you know when he called it,yeah big And if Phil says yeah,
(01:43:36):
he goes, he goes, that'sPhil Phil, Yeah, yeah,
there you go. So we gotgood ones. Phil's a big Saints fan,
and he said, I root foranybody who's playing against Carolina, Atlanta
and Tampa Bay. So they gotwho dad on the website that travel around.
They watch games everywhere. That's fun. I like going to places that
(01:43:57):
are a theme bar. They gowatch your team play, whether it's the
Texans or anyway else because they getinto it him and be a good friend.
Yeah. A lot of Saints fansin this town and vice versa.
There I would imagine being Texans fansbecause there's a lot of you know,
the cross pollination where people come here, people go there, and you like
it. And if you're a Saintsfan, you love your Saints and you're
LSU Tigers. If you're a Texansfan now that they're winning, you're not
(01:44:19):
deviating from that. So fun,and this is a town that's got a
lot of different people from all overthe country roots area. Yeah, and
but I'll tell you what the Texansare doing. They're playing well enough to
want to force you to be aTexans fan. I get it. As
a Raider fan, I get it. I like the I like the trajectory
of the football team, and Ilike this schedules challenges for them. They
(01:44:39):
they're the way that they played lastyear. And all the buzz this this
offseason with some of the moves theymade the free agency of the draft,
excuse me, it makes it makesguys even like you sean to go buy
a jersey, get shrowd jersey.Bryant, listen for a second. I
just want to tell you something. My name is miss for Lehman. Thank
(01:45:00):
you very much. Listen, Bryant. I want you to understand something I
haven't. I don't I've never bought. I know you have football jersey.
I know you haven't. That's whyI'm so you think I'm gonna do it.
What do you think that I wouldlike wear a Warren Moon jersey as
a teammate a guy that I love, like this old Oilers war or Viking
(01:45:21):
Warren Moon jersey. You seem likeyou'd probably wear But but I put that
up on the Yeah, I sayi'd wear somebody who's non descripted. Now,
fair Bear's not not descript He's oneof the best kickers in the league.
But you know, kickers don't getthe love they deserve. But I,
you know those guys that I've beenteammate, I I you know,
all these jerseys a Chris Carter weara former teammates jersey, But I prefer
to put those in a frame andkeep them there. Right. But for
(01:45:43):
me, if I was going tobuy a jersey of the Texans, number
seven would be a pretty good start. Yeah you know what I'm saying,
But I probably even though that's toobut that's too obvious for me, right,
So I'd probably lean towards a likelike a will Anne one of those,
or a tank Dell Fipe jersey. That for me was where I'd go.
(01:46:09):
But I'm not I'll, like Isaid, rare but baseball jersey once
in a while, but I don'twear them. They're still hanging on hangers.
I haven't put them up. Andthen then then the basketball jersey's out.
That goes. I'd never wear abasketball jersey. I just don't.
People who do I do it.But if I did, you got to
wear a T shirt under it.As we've talked about, right, Baseball
is the one that I would maybea little unbuttoned with long sleeves underneath it
(01:46:31):
at a baseball game. I'm justnot a football jersey wearing guy. But
if I did, it probably wouldn'tbe the obvious of taking the Stroud thing
because I love the guy. Itwould be somebody else that maybe doesn't get
as much run as the CJ.Stroud will. But football jerseys and me
just don't. Usually even a tailgate, that's not me. I wear a
hat or a T shirt of theTexans or whoever my team where I'm at.
(01:46:55):
But I'm just not a football jerseyguy. But I love that when
people wear them. I love thesupport. I'd buy one, and I
just wouldn't wear it. I giveit as a gift, or i'd leave
it put in a frame sign I'mnot gonna wear it. I want the
h Town variation jersey of Tank Dell. That's that's the one. Why don't
you go buy it? Uh?In this economy? Come on? Brother
(01:47:15):
kidding me? Come on, man, dude, Okay, listen, the
two hundred is gonna get spent. You're gonna be the memories more or or
the two what's gonna be right now? Gets me? Like five items?
So like I need the grocery completely. Agree. Would you be willing to
sacrifice lower maybe maybe having that littlemore meal prep eat okay, take two
(01:47:41):
weeks off from eating breakfast here, took it home. I did. I
went meal prepped today. I wantthe grocer store yesterday. Tank okay,
and then gather it up and sacrificewhatever it is you'd do for for one
whatever your like. Do you liketo go out? Yeah, whatever it
is for one month? You gotyour jersey paid for? Okay, it's
memories, it's more. Let's do. Let me get you go buy it.
(01:48:03):
I'm not going through here. I'llget you an aziz al Shire jersey
I'm in, or the Neil Hunterone that's the Neil Hunter and me or
that. Now that's a that's ajersey that i'd like because you know,
bring it in from Minnesota. Therest of it, there's gonna be so
many strate jerseys. We got tooffset it with some other guys. Will
Anderson will be a top choice forme. It would I like that like
(01:48:26):
the Will Anderson. Look, Idon't even have Tank Dell jerseys on the
website, so but I like thepeople, so I love that they wear
a jersey. But so two hundthat's what it costs. Triple A.
A couple of them are excuse men, A couple of them are down at
one nine right now. Don't letyou but you you know, yeah,
but you know, yeah, youget up about three of them. I'm
(01:48:46):
about two fifty ninety nine, maybetwo hundred. So you're gonna stick to
the groceries and pass up the thatjersey for now? Correct? So it
is a gift. If I gaveyou a gift card to buy one of
those, is a gift you'd beyou'd love it. Oh, yeah,
for sure. If I gave you, like a visa gift card, would
you go spend it on groceries?Would put it on the jue? I
said specifically for a? Would tellme specifically? And I got you this
(01:49:10):
gift card, but you can onlyuse it on a jersey? Yeah,
you get an honorable guy? Absolutely? What about you, triple E.
I'll go get groceries, like Isaid, an honorable guy, an honorable
guy. I like your style, triple E. Man, I'd probably go
buy you want to talk about what'sexpensive, dude? My dog Kilo,
(01:49:31):
Oh gosh, I bought four balls, like at the dollar store because here's
why I'm talking about a basketball size. Bring them home four different sized balls
that like, and you can getthat the dollar store literally cheap, or
go and buy him at like atWalmart for five bucks. I mean basketbaly.
I bring four treats home, treatI call them treats because their ball,
(01:49:55):
Dude, they are They're all poppedwithin forty five second, all four
of them. And then he choosethe hell out of him because he doesn't
swallow it, choose him and leavesthe track for you. So I think,
okay, the two hundred bucks forme. You want to talk about
dog treats for three dogs, andone of them is one hundred pounds.
Bully feed one of those. It'slike feeding four kids. That's not cheap.
That dude sits by the pop shallI got more treats coming, Dude,
(01:50:18):
I've just bought you forty seven ballsthat are all strewn over the in
the house. We got a vacuumfollowing with a vacuum. So I get
it, man, But the Jersey, there's gonna be a lot of them
spent, not just locally. Here'swhen you know it's a big deal.
When people across the country are wearingStroud jerseys. That's when it gets big.
Yeah, and it's coming triple changedto a Texans fan. Real.
(01:50:41):
But I love how gets you thatword I got, y'all. I love
how Triple triple would give you twohundred bucks? What are you doing grocery
groceries? I like his style. He's honesty. That's right. Hey,
Hey, what's c J. Stroud'snumber? I forgot about that audio?
Clease? That's sparks man. That'sso funny. All right, let's continue
(01:51:05):
to talk about this NFL schedule release. What's the one thing that stands out
about the Texans twenty twenty four schedule? That's next, y, you're back.
This is the Sean Salisbury shown Getback at it. Those were released
yesterday. We talked Texans and wewent through it. Seven one three two
(01:51:28):
one two five seven ninety John, what's happening? Bran? Make sure when
you go get that jersey, youget in that said you know you sports
and make sure we could turn aroundin white them guns? Do you know?
(01:51:51):
We have to make sure them gunsare coming out and you know,
popping out. You know what Imean? You don't want to rip it
on the turn don't want to ripit man, you know, be playing
Hulk Colgan over there with shirt.Well, i'll get you. I'll get
an X out, don't you worry? John? All Right, man,
Look, the one thing I don'tlike about that schedule is a stupid ass
(01:52:12):
Netflix game. I mean if thatmeans a stop man, I mean,
this is stupid Apple TV Netflix.I mean I know it's money. I
get it. They're changing, everything'schanging. It's just goolah and that.
Man, that's gonna be a littlegauntlet to them because how many games are?
How many? How many they're playingthree games in a matter of how
(01:52:34):
many days at that at that point, and they like that that's a a
Wednesday night game? Correct? Uh? Yeah, for yeah, week seventeen
is Wednesday. Yeah, so butdon't they like play that Saturday, play
the Saturday Saturday prior to that.Yeah, so it's uh a Sunday Thursday
(01:52:57):
game. Yeah, it's a fourdays four days in between, ye all
days in between you. But still, man, that's gonna be you know,
trib Lee, I hope you getready for that ass. Well for
no, come when your cowboys whatcowboys? Man? We are Texas seven?
Yeah? Yeah, what up?Until they started praising Dak Prescott for
(01:53:17):
his MVP. Oh yeah, man, he's he's he's a Oliver. But
really, one more last thing, man, Man, the spot of line
up along. Dude. Come on, I know, I know he had
sacrifices last night with with Bragman, but I do agree with what y'all said
earlier. Al Res needs to takea day off recoup and man put Braignant
(01:53:41):
back at six. I'm not sayinggoing a home run every time at six
he looked he was comfortable. Imean, just leave a long spot of
qu jaguar still letter appreciate it,John, Thank you John. All Right,
So here's some observations about the NFLschedule. The Texans schedule in NFL.
(01:54:02):
Obviously you look at week fifteen, sixteen seventeen, Dolphins at home at
the Kansas City Chiefs and then theBaltimore Ravens. Week fourteen is a bye,
so I believe what that's three gamesand yeah, fifteen days because they
play on a Sunday, then theygo on a Saturdayay, Saturday Wednesday.
(01:54:26):
Yes, Sunday Saturday Wednesday. Anddon't I would not discount a divisional game.
Is the last game of the season. Now, we may find that
the Tennessee Titans are six and tenat the time, but I wouldn't discount
because we've watched the Colts with CarsonWentz, We've watched Jacksonville. Oh recently,
(01:54:50):
we've watched what late games in weekseventeen and eighteen can do to cost
you a division and a chance towin it go to the playoffs. Didn't
last year? I mean, whowas it last year? Was it the
Colts that had they were rolling? They couldn't go and win win last right
and they didn't. They didn't ona team they were supposed to beat.
(01:55:11):
Maybe it was maybe it was Tennessee. I can't remember the last two weeks
of the season, but I wouldn'ttake it for granted because also, guess
what they're going to be. Theirass is going to be challenged. Look
at the schedule they have leading intothe last week of the season. Let's
see he goes bye. You gotthose three games? Oh no, the
(01:55:31):
Colts had to beat Houston. No, but I'm talking about somebody was at
Jacksonville playing It was jackson wasn't it. Maybe it was Jacksonville playing Tennessee.
Didn't that happen didn't Tennesee. Didn'tJacksonville get beat by Tennessee. They did.
They not lose to Tennessee. Thereyou go, And that was had
to win all it's Trevor everything. And they got beat on the road in
(01:55:51):
Tennessee. If the Colts would havewon beat the Texans, I believe they
would have won the division. AndJacksonville had a chance too. It was
the playoff situation they went in andthey got beat on their I mean they
went on the road and Tennessee beatthem. I think the last game of
the season they did. There yougo, So don't That's my point.
When it's a divisional game, evenif the Tech the Texans are twelve and
(01:56:13):
three at the time, and youmay be playing for home field advanta or
twelve and four at the time, should I say or eleven and five,
it'll matter, So the question,But you can't discount divisional games because of
seeing a team twice as different. So and remember read those three games before
Tennessee again, before Tennessee. Yougot. Week fourteen is the buye YEP.
(01:56:38):
Week fifteen home against the Dolphins,Week sixteen at the Chiefs. Week
seventeen home against the Baltimore Ravens.I will tell you this, all three
of those teams probably going to bein the playoffs. Offensively, they'll all
three be in the top eight inthe NFL. Kent City ain't going away.
(01:56:58):
That quarterback's pretty good. I don'tknow if you've noticed. Lamar Jackson's
the reigning MVP and one at twotimes, and they will be explosive another
year with their offensive coordinator in hissecond year. And Miami as much team
speed as there is on the planet. So by the time you get to
Tennessee, depending on the record,it would be easy to say this is
(01:57:20):
Kansas City Royals last year for theHouston for the Houston Astros, and what
happened in that series on the road, right, and that was on the
road. You'll be at home.So my point is, we said,
oh, we got that one lookleading into that game, what it's going
to mean, and you hope thatthat point. You know, what you
hope is you've got home field advantagesewn up so you can rest some of
(01:57:41):
your guys. The problem is,Brian, if you were home field advantage
to the AFC playoffs sewn up andyou don't play any of your starters,
you know how I feel about this. I hate it. You'd be three
weeks without a game, three weeks, damn, and you're too young to
go three weeks to relax. That'sa whole training camp, So that you
see the bittersweet part of that. And yet you don't want to lose going
(01:58:04):
into the playoffs. You want toget your guys work without getting them hurt.
And you also think, man, three weeks without competitive football is hard
to do. So there's that, and then Tennessee it's a divisional game.
Hell, we've seen teams ruin playoffswhen Colts, when Carson Wentz was there,
they had to win. They losttheir last two games because Wentz couldn't
close it out and that team couldn'tclose it out when he was an Indy
(01:58:25):
and they missed the playoffs. Sothere you have it. And remember I
think it was the last game theywent into Jacksonville and all they had to
do is and they couldn't win thegame. So it does matter. So
those four games coming out of thatbuy are going to matter because the divisional
game with a new coach in Tennessee, and Tennessee may not have anything to
play for him. We know howdangerous those teams are asked the Texans that
would able them to get C.J. Stroud with a second pick against
(01:58:48):
the Colts on their late season wintwo years ago or last year meaning the
year before this in the twenty twentytwo season. So it's going to be
that schedule in descent. Take careof your early season schedule because those you're
facing three explosive offenses, and quitefrankly, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore
(01:59:09):
Ravens defenses, they'll play pretty nasty. Yeah, they don't play all right.
Let's get into the final hour hereon a Thursday morning on the Shawn

seven to ten, the first pitchsix o'clock on deck show right here on
seven on your home Frastros Baseball.Stro's looking for the sweet Christian Javier on
the mound. Talking to NFL schedulesreleased, we went through the Texans.
Let's see where they stack up amongstthe most difficult throughout the NFL. So
I have the top ten as faris difficult schedules in regards to winning percentage
(02:01:04):
opponent winning percentage from twenty twenty three. Number ten is the New England Patriots.
Their schedule the opponents five to twelvewinning percentage in twenty twenty three.
Nine is the Las Vegas Raiders atfive to twelve winning percentage, eight,
the Jacksonville Jaguars five to twelve, seven, the New York Giants five sixteen,
(02:01:25):
six, the Buffalo Bills five tosixteen, and then here come You're
Houston Texans. The opponents that they'regoing to play in twenty twenty four had
a winning percentage in twenty twenty threeof five twenty six outside of their own
division. The Texans are going toplay the Chiefs, the Bills, the
Dolphins, the Lions, the Cowboys, and the Ravens. Six of those
(02:01:45):
games are going to be against twentytwenty three playoff teams, and then outside
of those, only two will beon the road against those playoff teams for
twenty twenty three. That's the Cowboysand the Chiefs. The Texas may have
tough opponents, but they have fixed, not fixed, but they have upgraded
(02:02:08):
their roster, I should say thisoffseason. At number four is the Green
Bay Packers at five twenty six,the Pittsburgh Steelers at five thirty three.
Here we go with the top two, the Baltimore Ravens at five point thirty
six winning percentage and then number onetoughest schedule based on opponents winning percentage for
twenty twenty three the Cleveland Browns atfive forty seven. And you know what
(02:02:30):
once the season starts, as wesee how last goes to first like the
Texas. The Texans were supposed tobe a team that was part of that
schedule that says easy win. Hm. You know how long that lasts until
the first balls kicked off and thenyou get punched in the face and after
the first month you realize the schedule. Last year's record doesn't mean squad asked
the Astros this year about that startand how they're playing now. So you
(02:02:53):
my point is, while we goin, listen, there's certain teams that
you know, we're gonna be competitive, and Can Ravens and the Chiefs,
and we know those, but there'salso gonna be two or three teams that
we say they're not very good, that are gonna come in and be and
challenge for their division or beat teamsare not supposed to be. It happens
all the time. So while thatI get it, by the time the
(02:03:15):
season's over, the Baltimore Ravens schedulefrom last year will not mean anything to
them this year. Does that makesense? Yeah? Or the Cleveland Browns.
So it does. And I knowthat's we're going on that history of
okay rolling into this year. Butthe same teams that were may have had
a good they're playing tougher teams. That thing's gonna shift all over the place
this year. I can tell youfour or five teams that I know are
going to be in competition you justlike we can in baseball. Guess what
(02:03:38):
the Dodgers are going to be nextyear? Competitive? Atlanta Braves competitive,
Houston astro is competitive, New YorkYankees competitive, and you know you pull
off somebody else that's going to bethe Cleveland in their division competitive. Now,
when you come to football, Ravens, Chiefs. I like to think
(02:03:59):
the Texans will creep in out thatcategory. The Buffalo Bills will compete that.
You know who they are right now? Watch this? Are a Chargers
team going to be one of thoseteams? You say, WHOA Are the
Chargers going to be this year's Texans? Meaning while meaning that they want a
three win team, but are theygoing to be that quantum leap team?
We're talking Super Bowl type team withJim Harbaugh. Will he make that impact
(02:04:21):
like Demico Ryans did immediately on theirfootball team. So we know this.
It starts with a commitment to gettinggood players with depth. A coach that
changes, that shifts the entire cultureand the way you practice and the way
you do things. Because when youbring into new coaches, guess what that
means, Like when with the Chargersor with the Texans that the guys before
(02:04:44):
you weren't doing their job right,or people weren't responding, they didn't get
buying, and then finally the guyunder center better be friggin good. Look
to the teams that have that guyunder center. As long as you're fortunate
not to have a lot of injuriesto other positions, you will be competitive
no matter what. The Jets aregoing to be competitive, and they got
a good roster. If Rogers ishealthy, the Jets will compete and be
(02:05:09):
dangerous. It's just the way itworks. This team, as long as
CJ. Stroud's a quarterback is goingto there's hell to pay with them.
Chiefs Josh Allen's team. Even thoughthey I feel like they've taken a little
step back, you know they're dangerous. When you play them, you're like,
oh, hell, you look forthat guy. That guy at least
(02:05:30):
keeps you in it. It's likepitching in baseball. Pitching, even if
you're not hitting, pitching will keepyou in every game. If they're good,
if they're great, well then you'regonna have a chance to win away.
Even if you hit two thirty, you'll have a chance. It's the
same with quarterbacks. You may havea mid defense. You may have.
Dude, going into last season, did the Texans have a true number one
(02:05:51):
receiver? No? They sure didn't. How that turn out, Well,
we've discovered that Nico Collins can bea damn good got a player. You
go get a rookie in Tankdelle who'shurt, but before he gets hurt is
playing lights out. Everybody's game elevates. If you have the guy that takes
snaps under center, it's like havinga great pitching staff. You will be
(02:06:13):
in every for the most part.In every there's those games. Everybody's gonna
somewhere, a long line is gonnatake a game where you're like, damn,
you got an act. Even Brady'sPatriots had that happen to them at
times. You got stroud, yougot Alan, you got Mahomes, you
got that guy, You're going tohave a chance. You expect to win
every game. You're never gonna haveperfection, but on the way to striving
(02:06:35):
for perfection excellence, you're gonna passright. You're gonna get right to excellence.
And if you have the guy undercenter, you have a chance every
single game, like good pitching. And they have it here, they do,
they just they have it here alreadyseventeen games into his career. I
take that back, fifteen, right, sixteen played a playoff game too,
(02:06:57):
Yeah, all right, well nowit is seventeen because he played in two
playff games. They won one, lost the next one correct and missed too,
so it just canceled out. He'splayed seventeen games as a starter,
that's right, and he's already inthe top five quarterbacks for six in this
league. Seven three seven. Toget back out to the phone lines,
Keith, good morning, Good morning, Hey guys, I'd asked Tripoli a
(02:07:18):
question, but uh, I couldtalk about Astros all day long. I've
got my opinions. I've been aseason ticket holder for many years. Uh.
My claim to fame as I wasat the first exhibition game ever played
at the Astrodome. Watch Mickey Mantlehit the first home run in the Astrodome.
I took my son, my twoyear old son, to the last
(02:07:41):
game ever played in the Astrodome,as well as opening day at inn Ronfield,
UH when it was open, soI could talk all day long about
my thoughts on the Astros the waythey're they're uh manipulating the lineup to try
to get things going. But Iwant I want board with that. My
(02:08:03):
question was, and I asked triplyif it was out of line or possible,
but uh, as I said,I'm a season ticket holder tonight,
I've got four tickets in the clublevel that I would love to give to
someone that hopefully has never had achance to go to a game UH or
(02:08:26):
has a kid to go, ifI could, if you could facilitate that.
I don't want any recognition. Idon't don't you know, don't need
anything. It's just something I wantedto throw out. I'm not gonna buy
Brian or Texas Jersey. Hey,hey, teeth, what is it for
tonight or any game? I have? Tonight's available right now? All right,
(02:08:48):
So I believe we can do this. How would you get them to
them number one. Did have tohave the MLB ballpark ap Okay, if
you have the dude you want tosuggest you have somebody called you, the
first person that calls to Triple Egets them? How many you have for
four of them? Right? FoYeah, okay, level they're they're sitting
right above the on deck circle onthird base. Let me ask you this,
(02:09:09):
is it possible if the person callsin privately, can we give that
person your information so you two cancan facilitate it. Yes, okay,
so that's Keith. That's what we'lldo if somebody calls here and wants the
four tickets for tonight. And whata great gesture by you thinking the fact
that you when you said Mickey Mantle'sname, Brian and I both our ears
perked up and thought, guys sawhim saw Mickey Manel hit a home run?
(02:09:31):
Yes, pretty, that is agesture that that is very very kind.
And somebody I'm sure will want tobe all over that. We're going
to give them your number, justthe one person who calls first and needs
the four And we can't thank youenough for doing that. Brother, We
appreciate you, and thanks for listening. You're a good man. If if
if y'all want to keep my number, yeah, Keith, I'm gonna come
(02:09:52):
up with Yeah, Keith, sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off.
I'm gonna put you on hold andgive that information a triple say here
and we'll keep that in our fightwith a mon ung us three. We'll
keep it handy. So we haveit. Yeah, And if you ever
have anybody that you feel like needsthem, you know you need some help
with you, just just do that. You're the best, Keith. Thank
you so much for bushing back onhold man. Thanks so much, Keith.
(02:10:13):
That's that means a lot, man, appreciate it. What a great
dude, man, great dude man. Hey, you know what, if
you're not going to use him andyou want somebody else to use them,
and even if you are, that'sjust good people. Yeah, good people.
We got I know people call him, but the first one it's it's
but you know what, it's okay, I know we're triple. It's the
first one who calls it needs them. That's only fair. We didn't we
didn't know this was going to happen, and and and give somebody an opportunity
(02:10:33):
to go to the ballpark looks liketriple yeah, triple he's got he's got
it. Yeah, he's got itup there looks like yeah, tripley.
Go ahead and take that line five. There you go, and we'll get
that figured out. All right, let's uh nef we'll get to you next
because we're going to continue to talkabout this Houston Texans schedule. You want
to do some win losses, Youwant to do some fly Yeah, you
(02:10:54):
mean right now because it means nothing, but because we got to go to
brand and we come back, gotto get Clay Walker's fired back up.
You're playing it twice? No,absolutely not, okay, thank you,
No, no no seven one threetwo one two five seven, And continue
to talk about the Texans schedule.Let's see how many wins and losses we
can uh way too early prediction fortwenty twenty four next on four stock seven
eighty epunctionally tied to the team. The Shawn Salisbury Show continues hardest schedule based
(02:11:22):
on winning percentage for twenty twenty three. Hey, that's what happens when the
fruits of your labor turn out toproduce wins and they strap you with some
good teams man. And speaking ofwins, so we were able to give
those tickets away. So if you'reon hold trying to get those tickets,
they have been given away. Weappreciate you calling in at seven one three,
two one two five seven ninety Uh, Keith giving away some tickets.
(02:11:43):
Derek is going to be taking hisgrand grand baby. A couple of kids,
a couple of young kids are goingto enjoy that night out. And
also I got to give a shoutout to Raymond who called in. He
was first up. He said thathe wanted the tickets, and then we've
kind of talked to him a littlebit and he said, you know what,
never mind, there's probably somebody elseout there that would want them a
little bit more than me, andthey would enjoy it more than me.
(02:12:05):
I've been to a couple of games. We got Keith Raymond for being unselfish
about it when he was a firstcaller. And then to somebody gets take
a grand baby to the who whotake a grand baby, I'm gonna tell
you something, man, we gotfrigging good people did listen. I think
(02:12:26):
the most people are really good, but I'm gonna I'm gonna speak loudly for
the people from our six to ten, I would not. I love our
gig and and not only teammates likeyou guys, but our friggin listeners.
Passion and compassion make this this gig'sphenomenal. Yeah, we got some givers,
(02:12:48):
man, and I love it.So congrats to Derek getting to take
some young kids out of that ballgametonight as the Astros look to sweep the
A's. And again, thank youto Keith for those club tickets. Got
dam Yes, you want to geta fire back up? Nope, I
can do that. Don't. Don'tyou dare hit that back? Okay,
(02:13:09):
win's the losses? You ready?Yeah? Well, I got to get
the NEP's priority. Told Nef thatwe would we get to him. I
like that. Let's go f.What's happening? What? What up?
Brian Shorty, what's happening? ShotAy, I'm I'm amped about that schedule,
(02:13:31):
man. But you know the craziestthing is I've looked at so many
other schedules. They got the mostexciting and probably one of the most challenging.
I mean, you got Richardson rightout the gate. We'll see what
he does this year. Then yougot Caleb McCarthy and Trevor and then you
got Josh Allen and then uh,you got Patriots. I think Drake's the
(02:13:54):
guy over there. I don't knowif you'll start. And you got Jordan
Love that's exciting. You got Roger, Jared Goff, Dak Prescott and he
got to my homes Lamar Jackson.Oh man, that's crazy. What a
QB schedule that is. You don'tthink this leak's QB driven, do you?
No? Man? Live goodness,Chris. They're gonna earn them players,
(02:14:20):
gonna earn every penny. It's it'sgonna be hard. I know it's
exciting, it's exciting for all ofus, but man, just thinking about
it makes me sweat. Absolutely,it's gonna be exciting. I'm glad I
don't have to be playing them.I'm glad I don't have to play in
them. Man, we get towatch it and judge from here. Better
them than us? Right? Incredible? Yeah? And then uh, what's
(02:14:43):
going on with Christmas Day? Netflix? Did y'all see that? Yeah?
That's the Netflix game three point thirtystar on Christmas Day? Man, it's
uh, what the NFL is gonnabe doing with all these damn streaming platforms?
You gotta get Prime video to watchon Thursday nights. You know,
then you gotta get flicks. Yougot to get the bundles here, bundles
there crazy and then one of them'sPeacock. Yeah, then that's right.
(02:15:07):
I forgot Peacock also has games throughoutthe year. Add that to your bundle
net Yeah, bundle okay, Ifellas, I gotta get to work and
uh and I listen to you guysevery morning. What uh sean appreciate Hey,
(02:15:33):
stay up shoddy, all right atwork, buddy, all right?
Oh man, dude, that bundleends up with all of them end up
costing like two thousand dollars. It'scrazy, man, It's so funny because
I think, is that Disney andsomebody Apple plus somebody is like putting like
multiple platforms are all gonna be bundledtogether. You think that it's literally cable.
(02:15:56):
It's cable. They're building their owncable. Yes, it's like the
n C two A did the Powerfives? Breaking away? Build their own
build, building their own college footballcompany business. That's what it is.
They're gonna They're they're cornering the market. You are you do know at some
point in time you will be payingfor the super Bowl, Yes, sir,
(02:16:18):
and we will pay it. Noone's gonna miss the super Bowl all
to the party alone. You ain'tmissing to be able to go to a
party and watch it on the team. You think they're canceling that Me and
Triple are. You know what's gonnahappen. And I firmly actually believe this.
I believe somewhere in the future we'regonna have to pay for a super
Bowl and Monday will be considered anational holiday for the super Bowl, the
(02:16:41):
Monday after the super Bowl. Orwhy wouldn't we put the super Bowl on
Saturday? Or the game is gonnabe moved to Saturday. We should do
it already. Yeah, I agree. We should forget just the Monday off,
do it on Saturday. I agreewe should. We should do it
on Saturday. Me and TRIPLEY willbe at your house on Saturday. Super
Bowl. There'll be a party.Let's go. You don't even to wait
till they charge. Let's do itnow here. Here's the deal. Here's
the deal. There'll be plenty ofI tell you guys, you come empty
(02:17:01):
handy. You don't need to bringanything. I know you do, but
you don't have to that's the point. Here, here's the deal. That's
like me inviting you to dinner andthen asking you to pay. You know
what I'm saying. If you wantto bring some bring it, but you
in my house. It's all ajust sack up and lay down on the
couch and let's go. Let's doit always that's called that's called being classed.
(02:17:22):
Yeah, you have to, butI never asked you to do that.
Here, here's the deal. Maybeice on the way in the extra
for the extra. Well, bythe time you said tequila was gone.
Okay, but it is going tohappen. Here's why follow the money,
right? If you're the NFL,Well, what do you do? What
(02:17:46):
are people going to do when youhave to pay for UFC fight? What
do you do a big boxing match? Big? Are you paying for Tyson?
And and we are? I amat my house and you're coming over
for Jake Paul? Yeah, yeah, that's that's Uh. Connor McGregor is
returning to the uf C. I'meither going somewhere to watch it or buying
price seventy nine for him. It'llbe for him. It'll be close to
one hundred probably. Okay, youpaid for that for a bunch of three
(02:18:11):
minute rounds, right, yes,all right, the whole spectacle of the
super Bowl. You ain't paying threeninety nine per game, one hundred percent.
I am. I ain't missing thesuper Bowl. Nobody else is either.
So when you do the math, just to forget us as fans that
we what we they have all themoney we paid. Can we get a
free super Bowl? Please? Ifyou're the NFL. Oh, remember we
(02:18:35):
don't do gambling, but we're goingto make four hundred billion dollars off the
gambling casinos. So you're telling me, do the math. What one hundred
and fifty million, two hundred million, What one hundred and thirty million people
watched Super bowlast year? Something likethat. Yeah, give me one hundred
and thirty million times two hundred juston your calculator, just for the fun
of it. We're charging one hundredand ninety nine one hundred and thirty million
(02:18:56):
times two hundred at two point sixe ten on my calculator. Whatever that
means. So that is that onehundred and thirty million, two hundred times
we're in the billions. That's twopoint six billion, I guess is what
it is? You you don't thinkthey're gonna you don't think they're gonna eventually
get to charging you. Yeah,I don't know how many people watch it.
(02:19:16):
Was it ninety million or was itover one hundred? I tho it
was one hundred and twelve million peopleor something watch super Bowl globally I think,
or over one hundred. It washad to be over one hundred million,
right, Let's see one hundred andtwenty three point four, So I
was close. I said one hundredand twenty Yeah, one hundred and twenty
three point four. So you dotwo? Or what did I say?
I did say hundred twenty hundred, twenty hundred twenty five million, So you
(02:19:37):
do that times one hundred ninety ninedollars. You just came up. They
just made on one fell swoop onyour Sunday dollar two and a half billion
dollars. What is the NFL likemore than anything? Money? Guess what
you're getting at some point you're payingfor the Super Bowl and you're that And
(02:19:58):
that's why parties are going to bebecause they're gonna say we're all going to
one house house party are gonna befilled with four hundred people in a two
thousand square foot home some day becauseI'm coming to your crib. I'll sit
on top of the roof and lookdown and listen to the sound before I
before somebody drops two ninety nine andthey're not gonna make it for thirty nine
bucks. Why would you, dude, where this they're they're gonna charge you
(02:20:22):
If you're paying ninety nine bucks tosee Connor McGregor, your ass is paying
two hundred dollars to watch mahomes andall extravaganza that leads up to it.
Or should I say at that pointce Jstrack commercials, Oh no, no,
no, Budy, you're gonna getmore of those. You want to
wire and they're gonna charge for whatthey're about six million or five million per
third you're gonna charge about they'll becharging about eight to ten million for a
(02:20:46):
sixty second spot. Oh, you'renot only gonna get commercials, brother,
They're gonna cut from from Jim Nantzduring the before he throws the commercial to
get an extra sixty seconds before theyclose out the commercial and matter of fact,
the ball might be in the air. Let's get to commercial quick,
get another sixty seconds in. That'show that's going to happen. Make no
mistake about it. Yeah, makeno mistake, no mistake. Well we
(02:21:09):
already did that. Well, nevermind talking about politics. I know you
want me finish. Yeah, yeah, no mistake. They're going to charge
you for a super Bowl sooner thanlater. Yeah. I got a couple
of Netflix. I can't even talkingnet flicks games. The Texans have one
(02:21:30):
of them. Let's do some wins. Loss is way too early. Predictions
on the Texans twenty twenty four schedulenext al don't go anywhere. We'll get
to you next as well. SportsTalk seven eighty The Shawn Salisbury Show continued.
See look at this Lewis and thenews. That's great, but I
prefer I prefer village people. Yeah, come on, could you admit so?
(02:21:52):
Then we got to make our wholelineup? Do it? They won't
stand and board it. Do it? Okay? Oh yeah, I think
Okay, we get first choice thatyou ad Yeah, everybody's got to do
it. Conny McGovern, the producer, and Dan Matthews all have to do
along with Tripple. What about whatabout the what about the classic Beatles?
Your favorite beles? Blow? Dude? Come on, that's the isn't that
(02:22:18):
the most classic album cover ever. No, it's not no, no one
where what are you talking about?A diaper? Well? Whatever is anywhere
in leather chaps? Yeah, ohit's leather chaps. Okay, diaper chaps.
There's an Indiana sale or a constructionworker, some weird dude in chaps,
and there's a cowboy, a constructionworker. You could wear the guy
(02:22:39):
in chaps. What are the othertwo? What are the other two?
Firemen? Whatever? Policeman, yeah, triple he could be a policeman.
I want you to be the guy. Yeah, you be that guy.
Okay, so we'll go there. There's a cop, there's some dude basically
in leather, whips and change. That's there's a military game. There's an
(02:23:00):
Indian that there's a cowboy, andthen there's a construction work. Okay,
we could really go cowboy, militaryguy, construction worker and be pretty funny.
But Brian, I think I thinkwe'll have you in the in the
you. We'll have you in thesubmissive, the guy in the dominate with
chains and stuff. Little suss youthink. Okay, so we got village
(02:23:24):
people. Nobody can have it asif they're standing. Who would we be
Okay, there's well you got youcould tune a piano, but you can't
tune right? Yeah? Another goodalbum? Yeah, who would we?
What will we do? Well?It would have to be a good trio.
Yeah, well do you think ofthree minutes? It's the Beg's rush.
(02:23:46):
You just pointed out Huey Lewis andthe news, right, there's too
many of them. But man, well maybe he's standing. Gordy'd want to
join us on the Village People. There's five, there's five of us.
Oh, and then it'll simply saythen we'll then we got to do a
video like we we Are the Worldvideo to tease it. It'll be why
(02:24:07):
can't we be friends? Yeah?I hope you eat right whatever it is
to speak right, then you'll knowwhat talk to bouncey. Why can't we
be This would be absolutely perfect? No, that was War Your Things that
one right? I got I gotthe wrong group of the wrong song.
This would Village People? Is ym c A right? Could you see
(02:24:30):
Matt and Ross doing this one?Or Adam and Adam Old Brooks and Dune
album like that? Yeah, alittle girl mustaches out like porn stash.
Yeah, I'm saying Adam and Adamon this one war? Why can't we
be friends? Was war? Yes, that's the group. It's the mc
A. Yes, there is villagepeople right there? You go, there
you go. I had them bothmixed up and either one hey, either
(02:24:50):
one work. Let's get back outto the phone. We'll figure that out.
We're not going to be the villageso and I'm definitely not gonna wear
those chains. What's up out? Thanks for holding man? O? You
there out? You got us yo? Yo? Oh hello ol? Hello,
(02:25:13):
yeah, what's going on? Wellwe're waiting on you think this is
a country club? My man? What do you say? There's ain't no
country club? Well yeah, kindof is. This is a country club?
Welcome in man. You don't evenhave to pay dues. What's happening?
What's on your mind today? ButI'm sitting here and laughed at y'all
(02:25:35):
with these bents with d Wylliams. The guys say that construction work. If
I mistaken Brian, he has somepants shorts ons in the magic Johnson there
with some big comeback with a billRonne with a hard hat on. Look
(02:25:56):
at that, And I got asigure. Why can't we be friends?
And sad groups are coming in wantto be prince with the with the tights
on, with the fish net backpockets. There. You go real quick
about the Texans on their back endschedule, Shine, it's kind of good
(02:26:20):
part about it, just good fortalk. You know, those teams such
as the Baltimore Ravens them more.I heard they schedule and I heard Chiefs
Miami schedule, and I think bothof them got the forty lines. We
don't have them, but Baltimore lastyear, I think they rested Lamar Jackson
in the last game or two.But that's the good thing about them in
(02:26:41):
the hen if they already clinched,we know they're gonna pull some of their
starters. And we got to lookat this Houston. A lot of them
teams lost some key players, especiallyKansas City secondary. I think with the
traditional Snead leaving, I don't thinkthe set and there will be the same
as much because that guy was probablythe dominant defensive player on the team last
(02:27:05):
year, even though he's in ourdivision. And Baltimore lock Patrick Queen,
So you know, the way welook at them, they looking at us
because we added a top notch receiver, step On Diggs, so the same
way they trying to get tape onus, We got tape on them.
And plus when they added those guysHunter and Digs Brian, I just think
(02:27:26):
that we gave the NFL a wholenother look when we coming in playing guys
so they coming to our city.I just think we pretty tough. I
picked Dick the left maybe twelve winsbeyond versus expensive in first seven. From
first seven, I think we wonthe ten Ain't that bad? So them
last three ain't they? You knowwhat I'm saying. One of ten,
(02:27:48):
shun, I think the best defensewill see is the Jets one to ten.
Like your style, you know thebusiness. Yeah, they're really good
defense. Yes, you gotta givethe cart they good on defense. But
and I live there. Good stuff. He's exactly right. His point is
so well spoken about the same thingthat we looked at with those guys.
(02:28:13):
Teams are now looking at the Texanswith. That's a phenomenal point. Back
to you and the village people.Hey, real quick, greaty stuff out.
We appreciate it. You know onthese streaming games, Matt Thomas texted
me, obviously you can hear himand Ross every day here on Sports Talk
seven ninety from noon to three, our midday show. He was texting me
in regards to the league rules forthese streaming games. League rules say every
(02:28:37):
cable or streaming game must be givento a local market when they play a
game. So the Netflix game, the Netflix production of Texans Ravens, it
might be on channel twenty six oreleven on your local cable. So with
a local broadcast team or a nationalbroadcast team I believe national team, but
it'll just be streamed or it'll justbe played on stream local. Yeah,
(02:29:00):
they just pick up the stream andplay it, and you're get you're taking
the national broadcast feed. Is thatwhat that is? Yeah? Okay,
gotcha because I don't have Netflix, probably like one of the only people in
this city it does. I don'thave any of that. I watch mine
all them fire ste I got theflicks, do you Yeah? You know
what's crazy? I have Direct TVstream and it gives me everything that I
got HBO Max where that comes freewith my AT and T cell phone play
(02:29:22):
you get like certain cable plan.Do you realize they'll give you like four
of the same channels HD HD andthe money you're paying for I'm sitting here,
and I'm not a one of thoseguys. I'm it's just easy to
turn on and I have to gothrough apps. But everything's turned into that.
I guarantee I pay extra three hundredbucks a month because it's okay,
because I'm like, well, fourdifferent channels come up and it's the same
(02:29:45):
movie on four different channels and they'reall the same, and I'm like,
well, what I mean you'll callthem? What am I paying for?
Here? Give me the case.I don't need four if I don't need
to watch bee Keeper on four differentchannels that are that I'm but that's part
of the package. Screw your package. Give me what what's necessary? I
mean, you want to talk abouta racket. You want to talk about
(02:30:07):
a full blown ass racket. That'sit. I get why people are cutting
hell you can just the truth isyou could app it up and you'll say
about if you're paying for like allthe movie channels and stuff, and I'm
like, I'm just giving money awayto these people. And it's nuts.
You are. It's nuts for convenient. It's not connn, It's it's irritating
(02:30:28):
as hell. It's funny. Ialways like this part too real quick join
a gym. They tell you they'regonna and I have. They tell you
that they're hiking prices, and theirprices are already outlandish, right, I
mean yeah, and a lot ofamenities. Right, tell you they're hiking
(02:30:48):
prices. You say, well, good, then I'm putting my thirty day
notice and I got a home gym. I don't need it. You know,
sometimes you do it for the youwant to go to a gym,
just for the the accountability of goingto a gym them, right, Yeah,
So you do it and then allof a sudden you tell them to
stop, and guess what they do, Well, we like to cut your
price one hundred dollars. Well, why why don't you cut the price for
everybody? Then why are you hikingthe price in the first place? Yeah,
(02:31:09):
so you got to threaten to leave. Oh but but we have a
special deal on cable this month. They're on our deal. Oh you just
do so it's for everybody. Whydidn't you let us know that before I
had to call you up, SamuelCancel? Yeah, you feel me on
that. It's usually how it goes. It's a racket, brother draft by
nuts. Yeah, fair people, fairly man shouldn't cost you four hundred bucks
(02:31:31):
to watch cable TV. I'm aboutto order us or to go to a
gym village people outfits too, can'twait? Oh well you don't, why
order them? I got them athome? Yeah, you fantastic. He
get awfully freaky of those dogs. You got a couple of calls to end
the show, and also, well, the Astros sweep the A's tonight.
Let's talk about an next sports likesevent and this is the Sean Salisbury Show.
(02:31:54):
That's beautiful, Sean Bryn and TRIPLEIhere with you. What a cut?
All right, let's try to getthese three calls in before we end
the show. Let's keep it.Chrisp got three on hold. Start with
Derek. Derek, good morning,Say man, I just wanted to publicly
thank Keith for those takes. Mykids will love it. He's real,
(02:32:18):
he's real, stupid, and Ireally appreciate it. That's all I wanted
to say. Thank you. Enjoytonight for Keith on his bathroom heel.
You've talked to him and you enjoythat game with your family and whoever you're
going with, brother, We appreciateyou doing that. Yeah, that's awesome,
good stuff. From Keith. Therewe go, Lar Ray, what's
happening? What's up? Be LeemaSehn? Look here? You know real
(02:32:41):
quick, I need Christian Harveetta. It's better than he did in his last
out in the night, man, because dash strows are I think maybe just
four or five games behind the ageor whoever. But we moving up the
ladder just like we're supposed to,so that when we get to June and
July and August, you start realbig boy baseball, which take me to
(02:33:03):
my Texas point. For three years, man, we sat around here and
with bottom feeders in the league, right, we have to stand and sit
back and watch Kelly stand over thereon the sideline looking like he was Andy
Griffin, Bonnie Fife, or whoeverthe hell he was over there trying to
coach announce the Football League team.We have to watch Davis Mills throw the
(02:33:24):
balls and practice out into the standsso that the fans could catch it,
while the receivers were looking up inthe stands wondering where the hell of ball
was going or meant to go.And then we just have to watch this
team not be very good. Butnow the NFL has decided, y'all has
want to go to New Orleans. You gotta play big boy football. Now,
(02:33:45):
if you think about it, thefirst ten games of those that schedule
that we got, it's going tobe a lot of fun because you're gonna
be playing some rookie quarterback. Yougot Josh Allen, and you got Aaron
Rodgers in there, and you gotar fifteen in there. But that's the
kind of schedule and that's how youwant it set up because you can get
out the box real fans on thatschedule before you have to go through the
(02:34:07):
Gunlet to see if your ass realserious about a playoff. Runt man,
I cann't be happier about what wentdown yesterday because the bye week sets up
for JJ to come back and thenthese boys your Kansas City and the Ravens
to the Kansas City and the Ravensat the Christmas and we get the ruin
Holidays for folks, and then themo jk Ass Cowboys got to see us
(02:34:28):
up there at at and T Stadium. If you are a diehard Texans fan,
this is the kind of schedule we'vebeen waiting on for probably about twenty
plus years. Because the league hastaken notice. You got some boys,
that you can go play some footballwith. Sean. I love this kind
of man. I ain't scared ofnobody, man, and I ain't running
from nobody. Yeah, if you'rescared, go buy a dog, right,
(02:34:48):
Larry. And this team's not scaredof anything, and neither of the
fans. That's right exactly. AndI know the Miko sitting over there loving
it because this is gonna be histhe opportunity to instill in them boys.
This is what y'all have been wantinghere it is now. We got the
dudes out here that can go getus these games in Ah. Thanks Larry,
great point. And if you wantto be battle tested, guess what
(02:35:09):
here it is coming here. Itis rights, you damned rights. Great
start will be incumbent, but youknow what you want. Listen, when
you're playing on a heavyweight schedule andyou're becoming one of the heavyweights, you
want Fraser Ali brother. You don'twant some tune up fight in December.
No, you want your metal testing. You like being battle tested. You're
gonna get yours and to me weekfourteen bye week Yeah, couldn't be better.
(02:35:33):
Yeah, to tune up for therun. I'm all in and last
call of the show, Javier, what's happening, Yo, I just wanted
to say, I think it's timethey give Jordan on the day off.
He's been doing a lot of suckingrecently. He's just swinging away missing a
lot right now. I think theyneed to give Joey and O's are in
left field because I mean, Joeywhat, he got another two hits yesterday,
they could could hit. He needsanother start and maybe put a Quarantini
(02:35:58):
diach because again, he's been hittingpretty good for a guy doesn't play every
day. Also, but yeah,I just want to see your thoughts on
it, and hopefully Hobby can turnaround and get a good start today.
But yeah, go Astros and keepon. Good show, guys. You
guys are awesome. Good day thanwell, well, I would I think
that Jordan's time off is gonna come. I do. I don't know it's
going to I don't know when it'llcome. And he will get hot and
(02:36:20):
he will punish pitching staffs. Andyou're right about low Perfido. We we've
always been told the guy can hityep, and he's we we know that,
and they're versatility now with the abilityto put low perfeito at three or
four positions, to be able touse Caratini behind the plate or hitting dh
and and can at first Pase,we already know what Dubon can do.
Myers has actually swung a decent badat times this year. You're looking at
(02:36:43):
you're looking at a versatility, aversatile lineup that is got a chance.
Now just hang around and do yourthing and when they get rolled and look
out, and at some point Jordanis going to make guys pay. I'd
be careful. Matter of fact, you might want two gloves because when that
ball starts coming back at the middleof about a bucket buck nine, you
don't want to be a part ofthat. Joey loperfeedo, great point,
(02:37:05):
Pappy here, Larry Al great callstoday and great Mike, great on Keith
to get that done right, awesome, awesome day man and schedule gear up,
it's coming. You know what theysay? Oh here, what do
they say? No? Teamwork makesthe dream work. It does, Yep,
teamwork makes the dream work. That'show we're gonna end the show.
(02:37:26):
What does teamwork do? Makes thedream work? Tripley makes the dream work?
Damn right there you go there itis great show today, Fellas,
what are we? The steps wives? Everybody doing this tea work makes the
dream work. Three. He isSean Salisbury, our producer Triple Emmanuel Elmore,
making it happen every single day forus. I am Brian Liema.
Thank you for listening. We're backtomorrow morning for a funky Friday edition of
(02:37:50):
